one thing i will never understand about the rwrb movie is why they changed alex’s line from “you’re early” to “you’re late”.
because like — in my mind, the whole idea was that henry was as impatient and yearnful about the whole situation as alex was. but then in the movie it comes across as alex being so impatient and shit while henry is just like shrugging

@hergan416 I love how when you put the Aragorn cards together they tell his part of the story from leaving Rivendell onwards!

it's so funny to me that whenever I picture a house in a book it's always my childhood home
like there's always a mirror at the bottom of the stairs, the front door to the right, the kitchen to the left, living room/dining room behind the mirror wall...
I don't think anyone has noticed yet so let's keep that a secret

I like to think that the Force, being magical microorganisms basically, can transfer knowledge, but only like, specific things.
Like, skills that are used a lot. Or thoughts that are thought a lot. That sort of thing.
Because Luke is a good pilot, despite never actually having flown in outer space before. But also, Leia remembers their mother. Luke being an incredibly good pilot could, theoretically, be explained away, but how would Leia have any memory of their mother while Luke doesn’t, when she and Luke spent the exact same amount of time with her, and furthermore were babies who could barely see?
Well, I like to think that it’s Anakin’s memory of Padme, that Leia got. That he thinks about her warmly and smiling and beautiful, and Leia inherited it like an heirloom, kind of.
This is just my own, personal headcanon, admittedly, but I like to think Leia can remember their mother’s face and Luke can remember their father’s.
There isn’t really any evidence that points to Luke not knowing what his father looks like. He know that he didn’t know what his father was like, or who his father was, but he doesn’t seem overly concerned with finding out what his father looked like. He never asks if he looks similar, for example, and it could just be that he’s been told he looks similar his whole life, but that feels unlikely to me.
Owen didn’t like talking about Anakin. Owen and Beru both barely even knew Anakin. Obi-Wan was really the only person who would be able and willing to describe Anakin to Luke, but Obi-Wan wasn’t allowed anywhere near Luke. Luke asks how his father died and asks people what his father was like, but he doesn’t ever ask what he looked like. So, I think he already knows.
And, it feels symmetrical, or even I guess, if Leia inherited a “picture” of Padme from Anakin while Luke inherited a “picture” of Anakin from Padme.
(Yes, I know, Padme isn’t Force sensitive or whatever, but the Force surrounds all living things and also the Force is, like, Padme’s father-in-law, and really, does her being Force-sensitive even matter in this case, since there isn’t evidence against what I’m suggesting but there also isn’t any evidence beyond what I’ve written that could even hint at this being true. But, this is a magic space opera with light sticks and silly pistols, honestly, I don’t need this to make sense, I just want it to be true, okay?)
And I could just be reading into this too much, I admit that, but I like thinking that Luke is so hurt by Vader saying he’s his father because he doesn’t resemble the person Luke has always seen in his head. Luke, in this, would see his father like Padme did, and feel him the way Padme did (or maybe even more, because he is Force sensitive where she is not). So, when Vader says he’s Luke’s father, and the Force is like “yeah he is,” Luke is trying to fit the cheerful, light Anakin with the black hole in the Force, murderous Darth Vader. No wonder he is very confused, I would be confused as well!
All this to say, I like the idea of talents being hereditary via Force and thoughts being hereditary via Force and I like Luke and Leia getting intangible heirlooms from the parents.

Day 12:  Angstober  “Eyes”
Fandom:  Star Wars (Thrawn)
Words:  100
“Madras still writes to you?” Thrawn glanced to the Oovo 4 stamp marring the message stacked atop her correspondence.
“Should have her executed just to stop them,” Pryce snapped.  “A waste of flimsi.”
The Grand Admiral picked up the letter, scanned silently.
Pryce never read them.  Once she’d tried, but desperate words blurred with painful memories of Juahir’s pleading, tear-filled eyes when her hypocrisy was revealed.  Pryce had suggested that one day, she would secure Juahir’s release.  But that was merely revenge for the betrayal—false hope.  A lie for a lie.
“Incinerator,” she scowled.
Thrawn complied, tossing it in.

hotd is a genuinely awful fandom for the simple fact that people who enjoy team green will talk about the show and the way the characters are depicted on screen. team black stans will then willfully redirect what that person was talking about within the specific context of fire and blood, and then instigate harassment based off of that.
example: when people talk about alicent’s story as depicted on screen, discuss the things that happen to her on screen, her relationship to rhaenyra that exists purely in the show.
team black counterpoint: (brings up things that did not happen in the show only the book, keeps emphasizing the “step mother/step daughter dynamic” over their established friendship and if you like their dynamic you basically support incest despite our daemyra icons, thats not relevant)
like do you see how that can get really frustrating really quick? keep bringing up things that happened in the book as a “gotcha” and it’s so willfully ignorant to the point where it’s almost baffling that someone can deliberately misinterpret you constantly based off of another media you werent even referencing to begin with

Hey there :) how are you? Do you think the live action keeper movie will bring justice to the characters? The books mention many times that the elves are this gorgeous creatures and having human actors playing them- i dont know. Because I have high expectations for the elves and their world. How will they be as good looking as the elves?
hi! i’m good thank you
i do not have high hopes for the live action moive i have very high expectations for a moive and i doubt they will able to get even close, my main worries are.
the actors not being twelve to fouteen like the Pjo moive
just the Cgi either looking really bad or in the uncanny valley
the Director has directed a lot of action movies and i’m worried they will skip strights to the fights and actions parts in the later books
like what if they try to smash book one and two into one book and totally skip over Frokle earning their trust
or make Eda and Grady get over Jolie quickly so they can get into the “interesting” parts
the Goblin, and Ogres looking like they did in the books, especially the Ogres what even was that?
the twins just being in the first moive for no reason
it’s going to be made by Disney.
i personally think KOTLC should be turned into an animated series that has a similar style to Arcane, but looks closer to the cover illustrations. that way we don’t have to worry about the world looking perfect or the Cgi not looking good. they wouldn’t have to stuff entire book into a movie. there could be three to five forty minutes episodes per book. though realistically that’s not going to happen.
while i have a feeling the movie may get canceled considering the lack of updates. i do understand why people are excited for it, but i am not one of those people.
