Did you see it in my eyes? I could tell in that one moment, I made you lose control, how you fought so hard to hold on and then I showed you it's okay. Because you showed me it's okay and we're safe, I'm safe. And you knew, then.. I didn't say a word but you knew and you knew I wanted you to know. Did it excite you? Scare you? Or was it both those things? You seemed caught off guard, I surprised you and that's for sure. Later, when you held me, all I could think was: good thing you can't *actually* read my mind. The thoughts I had, let's just say, I couldn't even write, let alone speak out loud. What are you doing to me? You should know, I am a recovering addict, but I don't feel like you are a drug. No, you are a vitamin, some vital vitamin I've been missing and now I've found you it's all clicked in my head. Now I've found you I want to overdose on what I've been so deprived of for too long, but I also know that's that addict part of me speaking. In, in, so pull me inside yourself and I'll pull you inside of me, pull me into the real world but I'll make it so only we know of it. Pull me into your chocolate eyes and let me bathe in their sweetness. Pull me into your chest, let me hide there. Pull me into your subconscious, as I've pulled you out of mine, or the other way around.. as long as it's us, the rest doesn't phase me.

❝ look —— protocol or not, you’re not staying. ❞ an irritated sigh accentuates the tension riddled in mike’s voice. abby’s asleep, she needs to stay asleep if he wants any chance of warding this off. entertaining children was the animatronics’ supposed “protocol” —— targeting the children turned out to be their protocol, how was he supposed to believe anything different? he’s pacing around the living room as eve’s lips quirk upward as if she’s finding his predicament … amusing.

❝ i’m sorry, do you think this is funny? i almost died and my friend is in a coma, and you’re smiling? ❞ mikes voice cracks as he runs his hands through his hair, a nervous habit he developed recently. of course she does.
