What Have You Been Working On?A Deep Dive into Current Construction Safety Initiatives
What have you been working on? Every day, on construction sites across the globe, professionals ranging from site managers to laborers engage in tasks that shape our urban landscape. When they pause for a moment, perhaps during a coffee break or in a team huddle, the question “What have you been working on?” frequently arises. This isn’t mere small talk. Instead, it signifies a deeper intent of…

How do you get (or work towards) a promotion as a game designer?
Getting a promotion in the game industry usually requires the designer to take two steps.
Tumblr media
The first step is to level up one's skill set to the next level. This means taking on more difficult responsibilities and tasks, the sort that the mid or senior level devs are doing. In order to do this, one needs to increase her understanding of the way the systems and content interact by guarding against future possible edge cases and issues that she foresees others on the team bringing up, and being able to articulate all of the elements needed to craft the experience she's trying to create. I gauge the level of my ability by predicting the kind of feedback that I will get from my design work from the experienced designers and then going through the reviews to see how accurate my predictions were. I figured I was ready to move up when my predictions were right most of the time.
Tumblr media
The second step is to find an opportunity and go for it - usually by taking a new job at another studio. If you want to try to get an internal promotion, you need to talk to your supervisor during your one-on-one meetings and make sure she knows what you want and will take steps to help you realize your career goals. If your supervisor can't or won't help you do that, you should consider looking for employment elsewhere instead of waiting. In career terms, waiting is stagnating.
Tumblr media
In my experience, most promotions in a game design career don't happen internally. I've never had an internal title change during my career. All of my title promotions (e.g. junior to mid-level, mid-level to senior) came from finding a new job at a new employer, by showing that I could shoulder the responsibilities of the new role. Many of my industry friends and compatriots have similar stories - getting promoted internally is a lot harder than finding a new job elsewhere that starts you in the role you wanted to grow into. Even if you really like your current employer, leaving on good terms to level up elsewhere means you'll be welcomed back later with a better title with more responsibility and pay.

JESUS BPP YOU WERE RIGHT ABT VP L BEING THE FALL GUY TO TARGET MHJ
https://x.com/tmikpop/status/1782735648610275429?s=46
But she’s been made the scapegoat and now people will think she made him say this and it won’t matter will it? I doubted it before but looking at everything coming out, it feels like someone has wanted MHJ out of Hybe for a long time. First they tried to use public opinion turning against her with the pedo scandal to do it, but it didn’t work because Hybe supported her. So now they are attacking her from within Hybe itself, using her caustic abrasive narssistic reputation to paint a character profile of a backstabbing greedy SM bitch who wants to pull another 50-50 even though MHJ herself has said in the wake of such glaring failures of both SM and 50-50, its stupid to think she’d attempt the same so soon. I work in investment banking and this feels like an inside hit job from everything I’ve seen. I don’t really like MHJ, I think she talks too much, but I can’t help but feel what we’re hearing from her is closer to the truth than what leaks from Hybe are saying. Somebody wants her gone.
It’s sad. If she leaves will there be any more top women at Hybe? Nicole left Hybe recently to go to Columbia after almost 7 years as A&R for BigHit, Adora left Hybe after almost 9 years to do her own solo career outside of Hybe. Sometimes i wonder why those women left after all the investment they made into the company, of its because they weren’t given more real support to advance to more independent or autonomous roles. All three women: Min Hee Jin, Adora, and Nicole were hired when Bang PD was in charge, but now that other men are calling shots at Hybe and it’s a more big chaebol corporate structure, all these women are either leaving or in the case of MHJ, attacked and left little choice but to leave.
i know this is giving conspiracy BPP, and i hate it. Maybe I’m projecting my own trauma from work into the situation. But this new VP L statement just triggered it for me. Something about this scandal smells very very wrong. I just hope the outcome for NewJeans is the best one.
***
Your link.
You’ve said a lot. All I’ll respond to is your first question: no it won’t matter what VP L says. It won’t matter unless the suits at HYBE want it to, and so far that looks unlikely.

Call of Duty has had so many chances to create something really unique and original and just,,, not. Like, Vanguard was a WWII game and they wanted to keep the gunsmith and MW style killstreaks, and instead of leaning into it and going full alternate history dieselpunk they just,,, made a shitty generic ww2 game?
Cold War's campaign was a genuinely interesting and unique spy thriller. I would have watched it as a movie. Since playing it I've noticed the distinct lack of first person spy thriller games. Like can you imagine an open world spy game set in Cold War Berlin?? If it wasn't CoD this game would have set off so many copycats! But did they do anything with that concept elsewhere, say, co-op infiltration multiplayer, stealth based game modes, etc? Nope! Just the same multiplayer sandbox every CoD game has had since the Modern Warfare reboot, and the campaign was written off by the gaming world at large because it was CoD and the part that people actually care about stayed exactly the same.
It's so disheartening that this franchise with so much money and so many incredible programmers and writers (yes writers Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and every Black Ops game have all had stories that can go toe to toe with the likes of Arkane, Obsidian, Naughty Dog, etc) behind it is too afraid to take any kind of risk or make anything that's memorable in favor of the safe option of yearly iterations of the same thing.

I got my new car today!!! I haven’t actually driven it yet. Because new things are scary for me and it takes me a little while to get used to something like driving a new car, I wanted to drive it around my parents’ a little before going in a busy road. Rob said it has “responsive break” and i wanna get that “feel” down before I’m in heavy traffic. I like it though and am very grateful and excited!!
Being at my parents’ hasn’t been too triggering this time around. Usually there are some kind of comments about my body or what I’m eating, but we have such a short turn around this year that thankfully it hasn’t been too bad…
Did have to listen to my mom talk about this guy who has multiple myeloma (my mom has a precursor to MM) and apparently is in “full remission” using an antiviral but it came back because he got the covid vaccine…. Tried to explain why that’s probably not true actually but you know… I think she just desperately wants there to be simple/easier answers to the cancer she might develop, which I get, but I also feel like this is how misinformation takes roots.
(We don’t have a perfect system here in the US by far, but we aren’t lagging behind in the cancer treatment realm…. If antivirals worked to cure MM, there would be research on it… and people would do it… contrary to popular belief, Big Pharma isn’t pushing ineffective expensive drugs to steal your money and keep you sick…drugs are ridiculously expensive, but it’s not malicious… insurance companies are far more malicious for refusing coverage than the pharma companies imo)
Also listening to some people talk about pot shop workers (specifically managerial roles) not deserving to be paid a certain amount, all the gender critical bs, like yall, I don’t like government regulations in general and I have my views on how we attempt legislating morality and why it doesn’t work, but like…… when you use that argument to justify why people who “don’t have any education and just know drugs” (not a real quote just a paraphase) don’t deserve to be paid a certain amount, AND you don’t use it to say that like, gov shouldn’t restrict access to health care like abortions and gender affirming care… that’s not “government shouldn’t legislate morality,” that’s “government should legislate the morality I agree with” which is… the same thing you’re complaining about the “other side” doing.
Especially the gender stuff. It takes very little actual energy to use somebody’s preferred, correct pronouns. Affirming care literally saves lives. When you spend a lot of energy and time lobbying against these things, it really just tells me how uncomfortable you are with the idea that somebody could have a different life experience than you. The only person who should be spending that much time and energy caring about those things… should be the person themselves. Partners or family ofc should care too, but in a “how do we support this person so they can live a fulfilling life” way, not in a “i can’t handle anybody having a different lived experience than me” kind of way.
And also if you’re gonna complain about federal spending and budgets, can you at least acknowledge the ridiculous defense budget? Even if your viewpoint is “I don’t know how we can realistically and safely scale that back,” just like… recognize how little the government actually spends on programs like VA health care in relation to the massive defense budget. We rank third in the world for per capita military spending… I’m not saying you need answers on how to solve anything, but if you’re gonna criticize the drops in the bucket, acknowledging that they are in fact drops in the bucket comparatively would be nice.

Artificial Womb Facility Market: Advancements, Trends, and Future Prospects 2030
Global Bleeding Disorders Treatment Market
Bleeding disorders are a group of conditions in which there is a problem with the blood clotting process of the body. These disorders can lead to heavy and prolonged bleeding after an injury. Bleeding can also begin on its own. Some bleeding disorders are present at birth and are passed down through families (inherited). Others develop from illnesses, such as vitamin K deficiency, severe liver disease, and treatments, such as the use of drugs to stop blood clots (anticoagulants) or the long-term use of antibiotics.
Market Size & Growth Rate:
The bleeding disorders treatment was valued at USD 12.8 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach USD 18.6 billion by 2027, with a CAGR of 7.6% over the forecast period 2022-2027. Calling the Republican Party the “party of fertilization,” former President Trump continues to make false claims in a recent interview with a Detroit TV station, while simultaneously taking credit for the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
In an interview last week with FOX-2 Detroit following his Wednesday rally in Saginaw County, anchor Roop Raj asked Trump about the issue of abortion and how much it would impact the November election. The former president argued that the erasure of a 50-year precedent that provided women a constitutional right to an abortion was a positive development.
“I say what the people decide, and whatever it is, it’s within the state and what the people decide, and it’s working out,” said Trump. “For many, many years, people have said we’ve gotta bring this back to the states to decide, and that’s now working.”
Trump then outlined how different states were dealing with abortion rights, but appeared unaware that Michigan had already enshrined those rights in its constitution.
“All the states are deciding, and you know, for 53 years, people wanted to be able to get it out, Roe v Wade, get it out so the states can decide,” Trump said. “Your state [Michigan] will decide probably a liberal policy if it hasn’t already done it. … I think Michigan’s gonna actually be very loose. They’re gonna vote on it, and that’s gonna be the law.”
In 2022, Michigan voters overwhelmingly approved securing the right to an abortion and other reproductive rights, less than six months after the U.S. Supreme Court decided in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that the Fourteenth Amendment’s Due Process Clause no longer provided a federal right to an abortion. Three of the six votes in favor of that decision were made by justices appointed to the court by Trump.
Trump also told Raj the GOP was “the party of fertilization because we are for the women,” referencing one of the issues that resulted from the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, namely in vitro fertilization (IVF).
“We wanna help the women because they were gonna end fertilization, which is where when the IVF, where women go to the clinics and they get help in having a baby, and that’s a good thing, not a bad thing. And we’re for it a 100%. They tried to say that they weren’t for it. They actually weren’t for it and aren’t for it as much as us, but women see that,” said Trump.
The IVF issue came to the forefront in February when the Alabama Supreme Court, citing the Dobbs decision nine times, ruled that embryos had the full legal rights of citizens. That left IVF clinics facing costly litigation, prompting a temporary halt to the procedure in that state until it passed a law extending criminal and civil immunity to IVF providers and patients. But because the measure didn’t declare when life begins, clinics there are still moving away from providing the service out of litigation concerns.
Trump’s claim that “they weren’t for it,” presumably meaning the Democratic Party, is false. In fact, Democrats like U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois — a disabled veteran who used IVF to become a mother — had been warning since at least 2022 that IVF would be the next target of GOP-led legislatures and courts if Roe v. Wade was overturned.
Additionally, Senate Republicans have rejected attempts to protect access to IVF treatments, while a bill sponsored by House Democrats, H.R. 7056, the Access to Family Building Act, which would establish a federal right to access assisted reproductive technology, including IVF, remains bottled up in committee by the Republican-led chamber.
Trump continued to insist in the interview that abortion “was not that big of an issue,” and “should be largely taken off the table.”
He also continued to push the false claim that abortions were routinely being done in the final month of pregnancy, or beyond.
“Nobody wants to see abortions in the ninth month and the eighth month and the seventh month, and nobody wants to see abortions or, in this case, killing after the baby is born,” Trump told Raj. “Right now, that’s what the Democrats can do. They can have it in the seventh, eighth, ninth month, and they can kill the baby. In numerous states, they can kill the baby after the baby is born, and nobody wants that. Nobody.”
Since at least 2016, Trump has been making the claim of abortions in the final days of pregnancy or even killing babies after they are born, and it has been fact-checked time and again as false.
And according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, less than 1% of all abortions are performed after 21 weeks of gestation — in the fifth month of pregnancy.
Raj asked Trump about Florida’s six-week abortion ban that went into effect last week.
“You have to understand, every legal scholar from all over the country, all over the world, they said ‘You have to get abortion out of the federal government, you have to take it away from the federal government, give it to the states’, and now that’s what we’ve been able to do. We’ve given it to the states, and some states have already decided, and people are satisfied with it.”
While there were certainly scholars who believed Roe had been decided incorrectly, they didn’t represent a majority, much less anything close to unanimity.
“Any claim that all legal scholars wanted Roe overturned is mind-numbingly false,” Rutgers Law School professor Kimberly Mutcherson, a legal scholar who supported the preservation of Roe, told CNN, which quoted several other legal experts in fact-checking that assertion as false.
“The people within the states … they seem to be very happy with the way it’s working out,” added Trump.
According to the Guttmacher Institute, which supports abortion rights, since the overturning of Roe, 30 states have enacted abortion policies that range from restrictive to the most restrictive.
Raj also asked Trump about labor policies, unions, immigration and the war against Hamas in Gaza.
When asked about the success of union efforts in southern states, such as the UAW’s historic victory last month with Volkswagen workers in Chattanooga, Tenn., who voted by a nearly 3-1 margin to join the UAW, Trump instead talked about China building car plants in Mexico, insisted the public didn’t want all electric vehicles (EVs) and ended up in a diatribe against President Joe Biden.
“This character that’s destroyed our country, the worst president we’ve ever had, without question,” said Trump. “He’s destroying our country. What he’s doing with cars, he’s forcing the auto industry into China and other countries, and it’s so sad. And, by the way, Mexico is doing things that nobody can believe. They just started, and they’re doing them in conjunction with China, and it’s gotta be stopped. We can’t let that happen.”
Raj restated his question about growing union support in states like Tennessee that have been less than welcoming to organized labor in the past.
“Well, it could be happening,” Trump said. “I mean, it’s gonna be happening, but you gotta be very careful about what’s gonna happen in two years from now when China wants to take all of the jobs. Because frankly, then union or non-union, everybody’s gonna be hurt. Everybody.”
There have been concerns about Chinese automakers looking to avoid U.S. tariffs by building vehicles in Mexico and the Biden administration has addressed the issue. Last month, Reuters reported that under pressure from the U.S., Mexico was refusing to offer Chinese automakers incentives to build factories there such as low-cost public land or tax cuts for investment in EV production.
The report also quoted an official with the Office of the United States Trade Representative as saying the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which was negotiated during the Trump Administration, did not allow “a back door to China and others who may be seeking to access our market without paying … tariffs.”
On the topic of Israeli military attacks against Hamas in Gaza, in which more than 34,000 people have been killed according to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza, Trump was asked how he would try and end the hostilities, and indicated he would give Israel a free hand.
“You gotta finish it off fast. You gotta get it done, and then you gotta have peace. And we’ll make peace fast. But you gotta get your work done and you gotta have peace. You know that Oct. 7 was terrible,” Trump said, referring to Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians that killed about 1,200 people.
The interview closed with Raj asking Trump if he would debate Biden on statewide television in Michigan.
“If you can get him, I’m there. I’ll go anywhere he wants to go,” said Trump. “What he’s done to Michigan is so bad. What he’s done to our country is so bad. What other man, what other person, would allow 15, 16 million people right now in our country? They came from prisons and jails. They came from insane asylums and mental institutions, not from South America, from all over the world, they’re pouring into our country at levels that nobody’s ever seen. Drug dealers. One stat before we go, Venezuela was very crime-ridden. They announced the other day 72% reduction in crime in the last year. You know why? They moved all their criminals from Venezuela right into the good old USA, and Biden let them do it. It’s a disgrace.”
“But, sir, where are those numbers coming from?” asked Raj.
“I guess I get them from the papers in this case. I think it’s a federal statement or well, they’re coming actually from Venezuela. They’re coming from Venezuela. That’s where they can’t come from,” said Trump.
Punishing sanctions imposed against Venezuela during the Trump administration have been blamed as at least one cause of the mass migration out of that nation. Trump also didn’t mention that one of his last acts as President was to give Venezuelan exiles in the U.S. illegally protection from deportation.

Which game studio you would like to work for or is a dream come true if you can work there?
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, I used to have dream projects and franchises I wanted to work on. I desperately wanted to work on the next game in the franchises I played and loved growing up. I had all these ideas and passion for them. Eventually I actually got my chance. I went to work on some of them. I got hired by one of the most well-known studios in the world. I was pleased as punch to clock in, work on an enormously famous IP and project, enjoy all the perks of the studio, and go home. It felt super duper awesome to be working on the thing players were excitedly talking about on the internet.
Tumblr media
Then I was let go in a big layoff. All of that self-worth I had tied to my job and the project I was working on evaporated in an instant. I had to find another job. So I did. It wasn't as glamorous as the one I had been let go from, but it paid the bills. Then another opportunity came along and I changed jobs again.... and then again, and then again. I worked at studios that were big and well-known and I worked at studios that were much smaller. I worked with some real amazing people that I remain friends with years later, and I worked with some real jerks.
Tumblr media
Over time, I came to the realization that the project I was on and the studio I was at didn't actually matter all that much. What mattered far more to me were the people I worked with. I care far more about having a legit dependable team that I can trust to challenge my ideas and work with me. I care far more about having a boss that I can trust to have my back and respects me. These are worth far more to me than any dream franchise or studio with amazing perks.
Tumblr media
Today, I find myself again working on an enormously famous IP at a studio with some pretty great perks but, in the end, a job is still only a job. I'm a little older, a little wiser, and no longer putting as much of my self-worth into the name of the game I'm working on or the studio I'm working for. Make no mistake, they're quite nice and I do appreciate them... but my priorities have changed. I like the team I'm working with and I like my boss, but I also know that we're probably heading into a global recession and there are tech layoffs happening all over the place. I'm no longer chasing the dream project or the dream studio anymore... now what I value is more realistic - some stability with a team that respects me and I can respect in return.
But if you must have an answer from me for what my dream studio is... I think I'd like to go work for Atlus on the Persona franchise.
