Oh you hated it, the way he instantly pushed his head down, the way his mouth opened to get in a little sharp breath, the way his hands tightened to fists, the way he turned away and all the while you watched, there was only one question in your head. 'Why can he not look at her?'

Right. You wouldn't ever understand, they had something you had pretended you both had too for so long, she left him astray and you couldn't help but doubt if he loved you or were you just a rebound, just a bandaid over his bleeding wounds, barely containing him from going insane and merely there to keep him sane.

Was that all you meant to him in the end? You were too afraid to ask, because the answer wouldn't be the one you needed but the one he wanted. "Minho" you called and watched him shut his eyes watched him exhale past the tears building up in the eyes you sought comfort from. "Minho!" You called again and he flinched, answering without meeting your eyes.

"yes, love" he gritted his teeth at the name and you followed with a gulp.. "can we leave....please?" You asked and he nodded getting up without facing you once, he bid goodbyes to his friends and there were nothing but awkward glances towards you by them.

You wanted to hide, laughing at how the only man you had loved your whole life embarrassed you to death in front of people he deemed to be his best friends, everyone could see it. The way minho's breathes sharpened as she entered the big room and you had decided you've had enough when he left without even glancing at you.

"goodbye" you smiled knowing everyone is the room had an idea that you'd be meeting them for the last time today. The ride home was long and you hated staying in the same car as him. You could feel embarrassment bubbling up and tingling in your whole body and shuddered, catching your lover's, or was he? Attention for the first time in the night.

"what's wrong?" He asked and you chuckled satirically, "what's wrong?" You mocked him and he frowned barely paying attention to the road anymore, it was empty either way and with how embarrassed you felt you'd rather just jump outside on the empty road than stay with him.

"should've looked at yourself when she entered the room." Oh pathetic way to start, very pathetic. "What?" He snapped and you couldn't hold it in anymore. "You fucking teared up in front of the whole room, you were shivering minho. If that is how big of an effect she has on you..then why the fuck am i here?" You asked, looking at him after so long you barely recognised him.

"that is not true." He stated gulping, oh he knew it was. It was everything but a lie, you were right and he hated it. "It's not her, it's just the things that happened between us y/n you shouldn't assume." He defended. "Yeah after a year if all that still affects you i support you, no i really do if you were almost on the verge of weeping from the bad memories I'm here minho. But tell me is that all??? Really? Does she mean nothing to you?" You questioned and minho turned towards you in haste, pulling the car to a stop.

"yes, she means-" he stopped when his eyes met yours, you were looking at him so desperately barely containing the tears. "Please minho is that true she means nothing to you?" You asked again, a tear falling past your eyes, you made no effort wiping it when the look you dreaded crossed his face. "Y/n..." He started trying to grab your hand but you pulled away.

"if what you say is true, why? Why does everyone look at me like I'm the one who means nothing when she's there? why can't you answer my question? Why do you tear up at the sight of her? Does she really mean nothing...or am i the one who means nothing?" You interrogated, accusing him of things he knew were too true to be declined.

"no i swear-" he gulped. "I swear she means nothing to me" he stated, avoiding your eyes, big mistake. and you sobbed watching the lie seeping through his eyes. "no. Don't lie, look at yourself." You cried and he lowered his head. Eyes tearing up at the situation. "I'm sorry.." he started and you laughed. "sorry? After a fucking year? You tell me you're sorry after a year of being together? I gave you time minho. So much time. But this is it. You leave me at a hotel for today, I'll come to gather my stuff tomorrow." You sighed, wiping away your tears. Comforting yourself with the thought that you could cry alone after he's gone, everything hitting you off at once.

Oh you did not want to breathe anymore. You did not want to be here either. Minho's ex girlfriend had cheated on him and you were best friends with both of them, not only did you lose your best friend but you were somehow pulled to love minho knowing he was and never will be over her.

He didn't cheat, yeah. But nor was he ever over her. Not when he couldn't cut her off his life after more than a year of breakup, not when he would still shiver at the sight of her, as his best friend you understood but as his girlfriend you hated him. You hated him to the core.

And when you were alone in the hotel room sobbing so hard you couldn't breathe, maybe then it occurred to you that you were nothing but a rebound, a pathetic, useless rebound to minho. Maybe that's why you stayed up the whole night crying, and maybe that's why nothing in your life felt worth it anymore. But one thing you knew was, you'd be past this, maybe life was as mean to you as it could be but you knew you'd be over it and maybe this time the one holding your hand wouldn't hold it to gather his scattered pieces but because he would scatter without you.

i know the discourse for it is long dead but now that ive finally gotten around to watching barbie and had some time to sleep on it I have my two cents to put in. this is probably the exact same as every other critical thinkpiece but I didn't really read those so this is my genuine opinion.

first of all, this is a two hour toy commercial. it's the same thing as a michael bay transformers movie. mattel sanctioned this to sell you a toy. I'm a firm believer that any message of social activism is inherently disingenuous if it's coming from a multimillion dollar corporation: a corporation's sole purpose is to make money, and they will use whatever political or social zeitgeist they think will be the best vehicle for that. the depiction of the mattel executives in the film is not a critique or satire, it's mattel openly admitting, "this but unironically".

second, I have very little interest in any message of "feminism" or "female empowerment" that does nothing to include women who aren't traditionally feminine. the closest the movie gets to this is weird barbie, so she was decidedly my favorite character (if I could convince myself that I care about the movie enough to have a favorite character), but she's "weird" and "different" in way that's still palatable to the masses. the human girl's mom (did she have a name?) makes the argument for a "normal barbie" who is not extraordinary or an overachiever or sets an impossible beauty standard, but still asks that this barbie gets to wear "a flattering top".

what I'm getting at here is that the type of "female empowerment" on display in the barbie movie is not one for gender nonconforming women or women who simply have no interest in performing femininity or adhering to feminine beauty standards. barbie may have an illustrious career as a doctor and astronaut and president and scientist and and and but in every iteration she's Pretty. she always wears makeup, has long, carefully styled hair, is almost always thin, and wears cute, form fitting outfits, usually with skirts and dresses. she can do anything she puts her mind to, have any career she wants, accomplish anything, just as long as she's also Pretty. if barbie is supposed to be a role model for little girls, what message is that sending them?

the stereotypical barbie falls into depression because she's "not pretty anymore", at which point a narrator cuts in to say directly to the audience, "margot robbie is not the right person to cast to make this point". as if acknowledging it somehow fixes it? like, you still did that. you still cast the thin, blonde, white, conventionally attractive margot robbie as the star of your feature length barbie doll commercial. telling me you realize how silly it is to say she's not pretty doesn't change that.

there will never be a butch barbie because that's not marketable. there will never be a barbie who doesn't wear makeup or has body hair or acne or is fat but not hourglass shaped. this is why we can't base our notions of feminism off a mass marketed plastic toy for children. the movie itself is like, fine. it did make me laugh. it has some endearing elements in it. but its sociopolitical messaging is totally lukewarm, and not by accident.

I (m26) have been in love with this girl G for a long time. We knew each other from childhood because her dad really liked me. Unfortunately, her dad died and her brother hates me so he wouldn't let me come around anymore. He also refused to pay out the inheritance that his father left me (he's rich, I couldn't afford to fight it)

I ran into G recently and she was so happy to see me. I told her that I still loved her, it was her brother who was keeping us apart, and we made a plan to elope together.

Unfortunately her brother showed up at the last minute and forbid his sister from marrying me. He had the audacity to say that I wasn't wealthy enough to marry her, which maybe I would have been if he'd actually given me my proper inheritance. He even called me an AH.

He's the one standing in the way of true love. AITA?

Last night I finished watching Barry and, after having slept on it, I want to say something.

WHAT.

A.

SHOW.

I mean, if you haven't already seen it go and catch up because wow. It's only four seasons, eight episodes each, about 30 minutes each episode. I promise it's worth it.

Little shitty recap if you haven't seen the series: Barry Berkman is an ex-marine who comes back from Afghanistan and becomes a hitman. When he discovers theatre and meets Sally (a girl he falls for) and Gene (acting teacher), Barry decides he wants to change his life. Shit happens, the Chechen mafia is involved, he can't leave his life behind so he always finds himself in the darkest place.

Don't keep on reading if you haven't seen the show because I'm about to go and spoil it for y'all as I will talk about the last season and the last episode.

I get it, alright? I get why people don't like the ending. It's because it doesn't have a build-up or a build-down, it doesn't resolve anything, it's just... An ending. Just like in Bojack Horseman, when Bojack is sitting on the roof with Diane and she tells him it's just an ending. That's exactly what Barry's last minutes are. Just an ending.

We don't need something big, some action-packed gran finale with whatever you can think of. We already had that. We already had an adrenaline-filled last episode in past seasons, but it always meant that something else was going to happen, that the story wasn't finished. And you know what they had in common?

Barry.

Those endings all had to do with Barry. Barry killed Janice. Barry went on a shooting spree. Barry wanted to seek revenge. But Barry's not there anymore, so who else is going to keep on the violence and the blood thirst? Nobody. Not NoHo Hank, who is dead. Not Gene, who's in prison. Not Sally, who wants to get away from all of this and care for her son.

This simple and bitter ending is just perfect for the tone set by all of the series. It's a satire, it's sad, and it makes you want to shout at John not to believe in what he's seeing. But it's real and raw. It is upsetting, that's true, just as the whole series is because Barry's point isn't to comfort you. It's never been.

Furthermore, what else could we have more? Every character got their own ending, in a way. That's it, there was nothing more to say.

Fuches (my God, Stephen Root you excellent actor, how I hated your character throughout the seasons) served his time in prison and got what he deserved. He still couldn't leave his criminal life behind, but we see that he understood his mistakes. We can see it in his eyes when he brings John back to Barry. Don't fuck it up, kiddo, don't fuck him up. Will he keep on leading a criminal life? Of course, he doesn't know anything else. Will he manipulate another kid like he did with Barry since he was a child? Not likely.

NoHo Hank... Listen, I still had my heart in pieces from the Ineffable Divorce (my babies deserve so much more, I believe in the South Downs cottage) and now THIS?! I WANTED TO SCREAM, OKAY? Nohobal was so precious and the healthiest couple on the show (I can't believe I just said that about two criminals but whatever) and this is what they pulled? Bill Hader, I love you with all my heart but I'm never going to forgive you. But it's so incredibly in character for Hank because even if we see him as this sweet and polite guy, he always chooses violence. Ever since the first season, his answer was always violence, even if it was to protect Cristobal and their future together. We just see him in a darker place and I just-- That last scene with Hank dying and holding Cristobal's statue's hand is *chef's kiss*. Give Anthony Carrigan his fucking deserved Emmy Award.

OH. MY. GOD. GENE. Even though I thought he was slightly off the entire season, I think it's fine. We've always seen him composed and rational, but this season he just let emotions take hold of him. He was so scared and angry and just didn't know what else to do. I was so worried he was going to unalive himself with that gun but boy. He did it. He really killed Barry. I couldn't believe it at first but wow. And Henry Winkler, my friends, is the reason why NOBODY should be typecasted. He was so good and believable and overall GLORIOUS in this series that I can't believe the industry didn't see his talent back then and just wanted him to play different versions of the Fonz. But Henry darling, I love you so much but I can't look at that hair and that beard.

Sally's such a complex character it is really hard to break down. I love how we can still see her trauma, her abused and abusive nature. She's always true to herself, even if she grows and changes for the better. I love that she found a passion for teaching and decided to be what Cousineau was for her. I really think she will be a great mentor if she can let her ego go. I love how she understood what John would have done at his (boy)friend's house and accepted it. I think that, while in the car, she was choosing what to do next. Do I tell my son the truth, that that movie is bullshit and his father was a killer, or do I play along so that I won't fuck him up? That's what her eyes told me, but I may be wrong. But wow. Sarah Goldberg is perfect. Just perfect.

And now Barry... Barry, who I loved so much, who I believed in, who I rooted for. Barry who can't stop being violent, is a killer at heart, who can't be redeemed. He's unforgivable, he can't make it right. We've seen it in the past seasons when he couldn't escape from Fuches and the mafia and all of that, we see it now as he dies before turning himself in. It's mindblowing. Bill Hader is such a fucking genius and such a good actor that I don't even know what to say. I could talk all day about this series and this character, but I think this post would be too long.

In the end, great series. One of the best I've seen in recent years, one of my favourites. Thank you, Bill, for making this show come to light and being so freaking good at writing, directing and playing in it.

How do you feel about dril the twitter shitposter? I recently found out that back in 2016 he made tweet about how he wouldn't be buying anything from "the (((keebler elves)))"

He actually used the three parenthesis thing. He later said in a dm "You think this is parody. No I literally hate the keebler elves because they are jewish".

Then when he got criticized for it, he claimed "I can't delete the tweet because I have a virus. I don't actually like hitler or nazi stuff"

I have seen claims that he was satirizing the way that antisemites see anything they don't like as jewish or something, which I can kinda see. I mean, as far as I know there isn't anything inherently jewish about the keebler company. The founder, Godfrey Keebler, was actually a German born gentile I think. But... the "joke" (if it is indeed one) is still in extremely poor taste.

I'm asking you this as a gentile who has seen other jews complain about how everyone seems to have forgotten what dril did. But I have also seen post of jews saying that the outrage was uncalled for and that other jews are being too sensitive.

I want to be a good ally. Who do I listen to? Should I tell other gentiles who repost dril about what he did and tell them not to post him anymore? Like, what do I do?

It is NOT a positivity post if you're directly targeting a group of individuals WITH SAID POST! A positivity post is INCLUSIVE and is aimed at bringing people up, not knocking people down. Directly and clearly excluding a group from your positivity post automatically makes it an attempt at exclusionary bullying, not a positivity post. Like the message OP was going for, but poor and tasteless execution. 3/10.

I actually hope this shit is satire... But unfortunately I have a feeling it isn't. Because since when are exclusionaries capable of such nuance, right. Especially when they're blatantly ignoring the collections of sources put forward to them, like this one from Sophie, or this one from the Guardian System.

So congrats on the half-assed attempt at bigotry, Antis, but I suggest that every time one sees a "positivity" post that has tags like these, find positivity in it anyways. This is honestly the only summery of the Barbie movie I can give without going into a giant rant:

dang, I have a feeling this is going to garner quite a bit of hate, but as a disclaimer before I go into what I will try to keep a tiny rant-- I understand there are people who did like it and I want to like it, because it's you know, it's Barbie and the old movies were wonderful, but... the movie made itself irredeemable to me.

Yes, it was satire, but it was honestly hard to tell what was satire and what they proclaimed was truth. I hated it. Every moment I spent in the theater I wanted to leave it.

why was how they broke the brainwashing reminding women how mistreated they are? Like. HOW. DOES. THAT. FIX. ANYTHING? was it satisfying for a bit? admittedly yes, the initial rant the mom gave was satisfying.... and then they dragged out the bit and it was just like "what on earth is this?" why is this what unbrainwashes them?

Also, I know people are going to get onto the "well they were white so that explains everything" No. no it does not.

Also everything they brought up they did not go deep into. like Ken being hurt by the Patriarchy too. they spent about five minutes (if that) on it and then were like "yay! problem solved, it's barbie land again." Also mental health. Was handled VERY poorly. it's not a joke. as someone who deals with mental health struggles on the daily I did not appreciate how they presented it.

The "only baby dolls" thing. This should not have made me hate this movie so much because it's (MAYBE???) satire. But still. They have not been the only doll to exist ever.

This movie hated both genders equally but tried to make it seem like they loved women.

Also. I hated the extremes they went to in the real world. Not every man is Evil. there are some that definitely should not be allowed around women or other people yes, but not all of them are evil. And not all women are good either.

No one, the barbie movie: women are so mistreated, woah is us!

Also the barbie movie: eck! we're so powerful we can't stand it!

But mostly, I just hated it because I was promised a happy movie of Barbie having a midlife crisis and Ken coming along for the ride and instead it was like Tik tok. in movie form.

This movie did not make me feel anymore comfortable with my gender. if anything it made me feel worse. I left the theater feeling like I should have been empowered, but I just felt gross. Overall, this is probably the last post I will ever make for this movie because I want it to fade into the background and be ignored. The worst insult I could give this movie is ignoring it's existence entirely.

Does anyone else miss when movies just had strong CHARACTERS instead of it being a strong gender? like it wasn't "LOOK A FEMALE WHO IS A CHARACTER!!!" and "oh, a guy character, gross." Why does it have to be so extreme? Like I appreciate there are more female protagonists out there but I also miss when they weren't all hot headed, arrogant, jerks, and when they were FEMININE. like. what. is wrong. with. being soft??? also I miss smart male protagonists. and male protagonists in general who were good characters not comic relief. (unrelated, but semi related note: I will never forgive the Harry Potter Movies for what they did to Ron to make Hermione smart. Ron is SMART TOO. My boy deserved better!)Like there was a while there where women and men both had equal roles in stories and they were good because they were good characters and now... it's just politics. and I'm sick of it.

I don't know what Barbie was supposed to be but it was not what I wanted to see when I went to see it. I had low expectations, but somehow, it failed them. failed them hard. Honestly, I don't know how anyone likes it, and I'm still to angry at it to look for reasons why people did. Maybe in a few years after my anger at what this movie was actually about subsides.

In conclusion, I finally remembered why I don't go see movies anymore. I want a story, not a message. Barbie provided a message. a very dark undertone that hid under "discover yourself and your role in the world :)"

What's a movie that you love that you feel like you can't recommend to anyone?

For me, it's Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. (Spoilers ahead)

This is a movie musical made in the 1950's and set in the 1850's. It follows the story of 7 brothers who have lived all alone in the mountains in Oregon for basically their entire lives. The oldest brother, Adam, visits town one day and returns home with a wife, Milly, who resolves to teach the boys how to behave like gentlemen. Eventually, she takes them all into town for a barn raising festival and, through an epic dance battle, each of the six unmarried brothers wins the heart of a girl in town. However, after a brawl, they go back up to the mountains and are heartbroken by the knowledge that they don't get to see their girls anymore. After the second oldest brother, Benjamin, tells Milly that he plans to leave the farm, Milly tells Adam that the boys are heartbroken and must see those girls again. So, Adam, inspired by a story in one of Milly's books, resolves to take his brothers into town to kidnap the girls. Yes, kidnap. On their way back up the mountain, they cause an avalanche on the pass so the girls' families can't take them back. But when they return home, Milly is horrified and gives the house to the girls while forcing the boys into the barn. Adam, angered at Milly, leaves to stay at the hunting lodge all winter. At first, the girls are rightfully made at the brothers, but as winter turns to spring, they fall in love with them again (because of this, my grandmother and I nicknamed it Stockholm Syndrome, The Musical). Milly also has a baby during this time. The girls' families come to take them back, but the girls will not leave. Someone hears the baby crying, and each girl claims the baby as their own so they will have to be allowed go get married. And get married, they do. All at once. In the living room.

In the standards of 2024, this movie is quite problematic. Adam is a misogynistic jerk, and kidnapping is definitely not okay among other things I'm probably forgetting about.

Therefore, I would not recommend this movie to anyone unless they can remember two important things: The first is that this movie was not made for the standards of today. Just plain and simple, it wasn't. And the second is that even in the 1950's, it was a satire. We were never supposed to agree with the brothers' methods or Adam's misogyny. And Milly proves that, as she constantly points out where they went wrong. By the end of the movie, everyone has grown better than they were at the start. It's a silly story about love & growth, and the first musical I've ever seen where I thought the dancing was more memorable than the music (and I loved the music). If you can view it the way it was meant to be viewed, it's a delightful story. If you can't, then just don't watch it.

Even as someone who has been with the Screams my e n t i r e life & watches an insane amount of horror, Randy just has never. been that character for me. He serves his role well enough, is consistently written, & gets an iconic death, but he really outlived his usefulness in the OG as the franchise expanded beyond just. regular horror satire. 👀 kfhdhd I don't even take that much issue with 3. Like, is it the weakest of the initial installments? Yes. But I have very specific problems with it compared to a lot of the issues I see people have with it. 😶 Exactlyyyy. It naturally depends on the execution & how the individual Ghostfaces are planning attacks & all that, but Scream tends to have a great grasp on day vs night. 👍 Yuppp, you get it. The amount of stabs we physically see happening on him like fkdjfk soooo unserious.

The whole ~Laura rolls in, becomes the most important character, & Ryan tags along for finale purposes~ element is soooo weird to me cause her arrival is the inherent problem why so much of the rest of the cast are short-changed/go nowhere & yet the game acts like she needed. to be there. 💀 Yupppp. The lack of specification until. you're reading is by far the worst/most annoying version of that cause it's like, "Okay, not only did y'all not tag. but you completely left it out of the fic description as if you are just writing this for a house of your clones???"

SO TRUE. I love 3 and how cheesy it is. some people say that it's the worst because of how silly it is, but it just makes it a fun watch. Former Hawkins King versus the new one, maybe having Steve and Billy agree that he's a dick and teaching him a lesson slkdsdml) IT WAS SUCH A GOOD REVEAL AND SAW 3 MADE IT EVEN BETTER!! (Saw 3 haters can leave the chat, I may not like Jeff but I love the B story of the movie with Amanda and John and Jeff's wife) Yes ugh I love dbd because it's horror central. I have my issues with the game (like balancing, the devs being as dumb as bricks and feeling like we talk to a brick wall, the community being as horrible as it is.) But at its core, most of that is mostly avoidable and the game is just fun. I love knowing I can play as different killers or survivors from so many different legendary movies/tv shows (and I think I wrote a Danny Johnson fic earlier this year..)

Yesss ugh the hate Jacob gets is soooo annoying. Let him be a semi-problematic man whore in his crop top in peace!! Same with other characters that are problematic like Billy, for instance. He's obviously not a good person but people sit there and act like they haven't hurt someone else, and live their life completely like a virtuous, infallible person. Max and Laura were the weakest parts for me, I think the cop should have just killed them after he found them. The whole hostage part in the jail is soooo cliche and predictable (ntm overhearing crucial pieces of lore that makes the Hacketts look dumb for being so careless.) I like them but I found it so boring that they get the main stage after being absent for 70-80 percent of the game after the intro. Like Laura comes back in then they do a whole chapter flashback explaining everything, but it sucks. LMAO @ the clones because it's so true. While I do write my voice (the way I talk and think) into the reader I don't usually bother to write reader appearance aside from clothing/obvious accessories. I don't get why others can't do the same in the way of appearance.

St Patricks Day Milo fics sound interesting... so I'd love to hear what you have in mind for those🫣 And yesss ugh I'd be begging him to slam it down on the desk--either front or back--and mess up the note taking with something more worthwhile

I'm kinda used to the writers putting Nadja in situations and see what it sticks, but (un)holy shit its so obvious that they don't know what to do with her character. What we do in the shadows learn how to write women challenge.

I don't know if the Guide even appeared. My stream stopped a couple times and I have to refresh so maybe I missed her (if not see previous point because it also applies to her).

LOVED Nadja's kitty hair buns, love to see that at least the hair and costume department still cares about her.

The line about burning the school made me roll my eyes, not only because that story doesn't make sense with what we learned about her childhood, but also because I can FEEL when tv shows throw lines with the specific expectations of them being gifed, become memes, etc.

I know it's stupid to discuss about the ethics of Laszlo's experiments on the dick and balls show but in this episode I was all 😬😬😬 about it. Like, I don't give a shit if it was done with comedy purposes, animal experimentation is one of the subjects I will never find remotely funny or make jokes with, specially if we start thinking... How much consent Guillermo gave for Laszlo to straight up play with his DNA in this way? He has nothing to say about it except for a confused frown or looking panicky at the sight of the creatures?? More important, if Nandor did this exact same thing the past season and created the hybrids with a Djinn wish or whatever, how would the fandom have reacted??? (spoiler: waaay more angered than when everybody's fave Laszlo does it).

The work of puppetry and digital effects was good as always, nothing bad to say about the team behind the cameras that puts all their hard work and craft on this, sadly, mid storyline.

Despite how little I care about mAd ScIenTiSt Lazslo plot, the moment when Guillermo believes he won't help him anymore was truly heartbreaking just by looking at his face. You can see he really has all his hopes in Laszlo finding a 'cure'.

I wish the whole thing about Guillermo being incapable of killing the hybrids hit me harder (as if we didn't saw him luring innocent teenagers so they can get killed in the literal pilot).

Sorry but that lady character didn't work for me and the "Helen the Magic Johnson" joke was unfunny and kinda old :/ i wonder if half of the wwdits fandom even got the reference (also lmao shameless product placement, you can tell they needed the money to pay for the cgi used on the creatures).

Colin was like his season 1 self. I bet the wwdits reddit ate up that shit.

Colin becoming the stereotypical 'cool' white liberal teacher was hilarious specially when he said the cliché "history is written by the oppressors" line because that's where the parody becomes too obvious. Nandor and Colin at the museum felt a little tackled on, but at least Nandor annoyance at his personal items being displayed was fun.

And Colin being friendly (dare I say…sweet?) with him at the end again gave me a happy smile. I'll never guessed this season was all about the Colin and Nandor (Condor??) era but I'm all for it.

Biggest Mild laugh of the night: Nandor mannequin having male and female lovers on the display, the dude is wearing Calvin Kleins!

I can't say much about Guillermo leaving the hybrids at the senior home because it's a overused ending for wwdits at this point. Seriously, when this show doesn't know how to end an episode they always do the same shit: Leave the characters that are a problem in a different place. It happened with: Topher at the zombie sweatshop, Jim the vampire as the volleyball coach in Tucson, familiar Benji in a different city/state (forgot where), The Baron and the Sire in the countryside, Derek working at Sean's MLM, Freddie!Marwa in the Uk. They have done this ending 👏🏼lots 👏🏼 of 👏🏼 times👏🏼already!!

I hate that media literacy is dead aaaaaaaa

I could recommend someone a movie about an allegory of sex and the fake dreams of cinema and tge burder of life and they will see it only as a sex movie.

I could recommend an old satirical serie that made fun of everyone (ex: racist joke but it also make fun of the racist one, make fun of both, and no one in the show is a good person but you can still like them) and people will split in two side, the one who think its woke and the other half will say its too offensive.

I could recommend a show that use a simple concept to talk about multiple deep meaning, as a metaphor of life but also darkest meaning and people will say that its not that deep.

I could just talk about my favourite book, the fucking fnaf trilogy about (warning spoiler)

The robot girl and say that to me it can be interpreted in a more psychological way, as a metaphor of trauma, abuse, abandonment and growing up and people will say that I'm reading too much in it, that it's just a book for kids. (For context it's not)

I could try to talk about anything that is vaguely deep and people will be upset because I can't enjoy a media without a meaning.

I could try to talk about my view on something and people will be upset because they only want to see what they want to see.

Because they want to give something a deeper meaning only if its about them.

When they see the first episode of something they want the characters to be only like the idea they have in their mind

Because they can't read the room anymore, they are too blinded by their own opinion and themselves that they can't accept that someone have a different idea and view and will do something in a way that they wouldn't.

They just want things in their own way.

They only can say that: it's supposed to make me escape reality!

Media isn't supposed to make you escape from reality, YOU can use it to escape reality but it's not what was intended for.

Maybe Today some company make some dumb little game to actualy make you escape reality but I can assure you that they don't care about you and only want to make money about how much you want to hide yourself.

Media is born to tell story, to find deeper meaning or rediscover simple one.

To talk to enjoy, to HATE.

You can watch a show and both hate and adore one character.

You can see how similar to someone and at the same time recognise that you are also so different.

Media isn't about hiding from a horrible world but is about talking of the world. About culture, emotion, pain, happiness.

You can escape if you want but don't get angry to people that chose to fight back.

I think Tsu is actually the most unhinged hero. Everyone sees him as this prim and proper hero who takes his image very seriously, and he IS, but he’s also just so CHAOTIC.
