Skylor Chen Headcannons
LONG POST
🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥
Tumblr media
🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥 🧡🍜🔥
— Skylor has kept in touch with all of the Elemental Masters since Chen’s Island — and she actually gets along with them pretty well. They frequently come over to the restaurant to hang out, hold competitions, and scare customers. Skylor thinks that those days are the best days at the restaurant. She has all their numbers on speed dial.
— Ronin and Dareth come over to the restaurant all the time. Sometimes they help her with business, sometimes for the food. For Dareth, it’s the latter, but Ronin comes because she’s his second-favorite person after Nya. (He would never admit it)
— In a half-angsty half- comedic moment, Skylor and Lloyd created a BAD FAM group chat and added Vania and Benthomarr in the mix. They sincerely hope nobody else joins the chat
— Skylor is 100% able to mop the floor with Kai should she choose. Kai and Zane were on like a recon mission and Sky was training with the rest of the Ninja, kicking butt and taking names.
— It becomes this great secret they’re hiding from Kai (Zane knows through Pixal) and finally the day comes when Kai and Skylor are facing off.
— They’re trash talking flirting and Kai’s all cocky because he knows Sky’s a good fighter, but she’s mostly relied on her powers and it’s been a while since she’s actually fought.
— Kai is on his back in five seconds flat, half turned-on and stunned. The rest of the Ninja are laughing and Cole recorded the whole thing. (Wu’s lips twitch in a smile)
— When Skylor first stepped off the island, the first thing Kai did was take her on a road trip all over Ninjago. Nya got them a rented old car and they spent the whole time traveling the continent and busting crime rings.
— Skylor goes to get her tattoo covered/removed and ends up taking the whole team with her to get tattoos.
— She tells Kai she’s going to get a new tattoo to cover up the Anacondrai Mark (I’m tired of getting pulled over by the cops whenever I wear a tank top, Kai) and of course he goes for support and to get one of his own.
— Lloyd begs to go and get one of his own, and Nya overhears and wants to go to, then Jay and Cole want to join in too.
— So they all go to this tattoo parlor — Zane and Pixal go for support even though they can’t get a tattoo (they’re made of metal) — and get small ones that they can hide from Wu.
— Lloyd gets a green dragon, Cole gets a mountain, Jay and Nya get matching tattoos of lightning hitting waves, and Kai gets a flame.
— Skylor has different types of orange flowers trailing down her back in place of the Anacondrai Mark. Kai and Skylor have their tattoo’s match a little bit, because they’re saps.
— Besides Kai, Cole is the Ninja that most frequently visits Chen’s Noodlehouse. Skylor always gives him free meals, because she’s nice like that.
— Whenever she heads over to the Ninja’s for dinner, she and Zane work together and make the most mouth-watering food. Cole literally hovers in the kitchen watching the food until Zane kicks him out
— Skylor has never seen snow before, and Kai likes watching her when it’s snowing just to see the awe playing in her eyes.
— He frequently bargains with Zane to make it happen, because while the cold isn't his favorite weather, the shine in Skylor's eyes is.
— They have snow fights and wrestle each other to the ground, and Kai adores winter Skylor because she acts all playful and childish.
— They have their first kiss in the first snowfall of the season. Kai was so into the moment, surprised and flustered and weak-in-the-knees he slipped into an ice patch and fell over.
— When Nya and Skylor first meet it’s interesting.
— While the guys were on the island, they were spamming her with texts of FSM Kai likes a girl!!
— and, Nvm turns out they r related lol
— and, wait they’re not!!!
— and, FSM SHE’S CHEN’S DAUGHTER AND SHE KNOWS WHERE ZANE IS AND NOW WE’RE CAPTURED HELP NYA
— And the final text: Kai’s girlfriend is a snake.
— So Nya didn’t know exactly what to think of Skylor when she first met her, but she knew exactly what she was going to do.
— When she and Jay first got together Kai made the biggest death threats on what would happen if he broke her heart. Jay was so terrified that he refused to be in the same room as Nya for a week after they started dating.
— Nya waited the second Kai was out of the room before she gave Skylor the deadliest death glare she could manage and the most horrifying “you-break-his-heart-and-I’ll- break-your-neck” speech.
— Nya was surprised when Skylor looked extremely guilty after the speech, which made Nya feel extremely guilty once she got the background on what had happened besides Jay’s extremely vague texts.
— The two girls sat down and talked it out and actually became good friends after their therapy session
— Nya of course told Kai that she had given Skylor “The Talk” — to his extreme horror — but she left out all the sensitive details.
— Now, Nya works with the team to “subtly” drop hints about having Skylor as a sister-in-law
— Skylor and Jay teamed up once and got the group to go rollerblading — just to see Kai wobble on skates.
— The two are the best at skates (Pixal and Zane don’t count, they’re good at everything) and were racing each other on the track and pulling the fanciest tricks.
— Skylor and Jay regularly plan to have rollerblading days with the team. Jay has met his match on the rink, and Skylor is always happy to show him how it’s done.
— (She also likes having Kai cling to her when they skate, and she wants to see if he topples over when they kiss)
— You know when Kai gives Lloyd advice about romance? “You have to act cool, like you don’t even care.” Kai cannot take his own advice.
— Whenever he’s with Skylor he absolutely melts. His face gets all red, and his voice gets all soft and warm, and he has to touch her in some way, shape or form — whether its an arm slung around her shoulder, a hand holding hers, a kiss on the lips. He’s a total goner.
— And the advice for Jay asking Nya to be his Yang? “You have to have confidence.” When Kai finally asks Skylor to be his Yang, he is a nervous wreck.
— She still says yes, though
Onto the angst part of Skylor:
— Chen would often pit Clouse and Skylor against each other, taking glee in watching his second command and his daughter go at each other. It was like Garmadon and Clouse all over again, and Clouse makes sure to take out all his bitterness on her
— Skylor doesn’t really know who she is yet. Children are a combination of their parents, right? Well, Skylor’s dad was a psychopath who turn himself and his employees into mythical snakes at the cost of his daughter’s life.
— Skylor has no idea who her mother was. She has no memory of her. Did she bail early on when she found out who her father was? Or did she actually like her father? Was it some kind of forced marriage? Skylor doesn’t know, but the thought that both of her parents were evil keeps her up at night.
— Skylor has a phobia of snakes after the fiasco with Chen. It doesn’t matter how big or small, Skylor becomes legitimately afraid of them after she turned into one herself. It frustrates her, because she grew up around the darn things, and also, they are what mainly attack Ninjago.
— (Sometimes, Skylor finds herself panicking for no reason because she feels like she’s slithering. Sometimes, she scratches her skin until it’s raw to get rid of the feeling of scales. Sometimes she dreams of her father and herself as purple snakes, laughing at the fools who tried to save Ninjago.)
— Skylor doesn’t ever want to be in the place where she lets her fear lead her into doing what she doesn’t want. Skylor never liked doing what her dad wanted, but her fear crippled her and she did whatever he wanted despite her own morals.
— Her father didn’t start out insane. He was always obsessed with power, but the insanity grew over time. Skylor watched the Staff of Elements twist every good thing about him, she is terrified that someday that will happen to her.
— The closest that will ever happen to her was when she took Garmadon’s power in season 9.
— She felt the poisoned power in her veins, felt her eyes glow purple, and while wrestling Garmadon for control she felt herself craving the destruction. There was a dark pleasure in the sheer power she possessed with the Colossi at her control.
— Skylor was only poisoned with Garmadon’s power because she wan’t an Oni — but she knew if she was, she would have been corrupted.
— When she had the power, something in her head said make the city hurt like you hurt. you lost so much and what has this city ever done for you?
— She was barely able to curb the destruction and aim it at Garmadon and his goons, but it was enough to make her skin crawl looking back.
— And that scares Skylor, because she doesn’t want to think that she’s capable of that amount of evil. Deep down, though, she knows she is.
— And with all of this, her first thought, her greatest fear, is hurting Kai and the Ninja.
— Before, when the Ninja were just getting to know Skylor, she was just … hard to read.
— She's spent her entire life putting up a front, playing a role, hiding her feelings. If she doesn't want to share something, she’ll put up this shield with such practiced ease it’s like breathing for her. It’s scary. The only person who’s really seen through it is … Kai.
— It goes the same for Kai as well. Whenever he get frustrated, reaches his boiling point, feels like he could light something on fire with just a careless lack of control … he heads for Skylor.
— She immediately senses something is wrong. Drops what she’s doing, and just … gives his this look. It isn’t prying like his family would do, it’s you can tell me what’s wrong, I’m here, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to.
— It’s like magic because it makes his jaw unhinge and suddenly he’s talking to her. And after they dish out the big feelings, then Kai helps out around the restaurant to take his mind off things.
— Skylor never likes to talk about her life on the island before the Ninja came, because she doesn’t want them to look at her differently, to realize how many bad things she’s done.
— She was there when Zane and Pixal were dragged to the island. She watched them tear into Pixal like she wasn’t even alive, she stole Zane’s power when he was chained in a cramped little dungeon. She watched the sand stain red with blood and she watched Chen and Clouse punish followers with a snake beneath the island. She watched men get eaten whole for their disobedience, all without leaving her father’s side.
— Skylor has been hurt by people, and has hurt them in return. Over and over again. Somewhere along the way she gained a conscious. She’s betrayed even herself, when she allowed her dad to steal the Ninja’s powers. And she’s reminded of that every day because the guilt still lingers beneath her skin

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Grand Opening Day!
Tumblr media
Today is finally the day! Sabrina's restaurant is opening!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of Sabrina's family and friends are able to make it to support the start of their business. They have a moment to chat throughout all the hustle and bustle of the day while the girls play and Juno enjoys a nap in the kid's play section.
Sabrina: I'm really glad you all could make it. I've been so nervous about opening, I hope things go well today.
Scarlett: It will! You have nothing to worry about.
Lakshmi: And we'll definitely be looking forward to some good food!
Nyla: The biggest plus of having a chef bestie!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beau is able to make it too, like he promised.
Sabrina: Hey there stranger! Good to see you!
Beau: You know I keep my promises! But honestly, I'm also in it for the food.
Sabrina laughs.
Sabrina: Honestly, wouldn't expect anything less from you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The day was overall going really well with Sabrina, their team, and friends and family interacting with each other and any customers filling in, but during a moment of distraction from the adults, a new quirk about Alma was discovered, and unfortunately, the person she discovered this quirk upon was none other than her sister. Being a bit grumpy again today, she got overly aggressive and decided to kick her sister, causing Audrey to burst into tears. Since Sigrid and Robin were distracted in another section of the restaurant, Alma got away with this bad behavior this time, but this will obviously be something they have to keep an eye on and try to redirect her strong emotions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, Sabrina treats all their special guests to meals as well, and the group enjoys good food and good conversation together.
Sigrid: You've really outdone yourself with this place Sabrina! This place really turned out wonderful.
Robin: I agree. This place will be the talk of the town in no time, just wait.
Sabrina: I'm glad everyone's enjoying themselves. This restaurant means a lot to me. It's the first thing I can really say I put my all into. It's an investment for Juno and my future. I need this to work out.
Sigrid: I don't think you have anything to worry about, but just know we've always got your back no matter what.
Robin: Family sticks together. We're always here for you and Juno.
Sabrina smiles softly, taking in the kind words.
Sabrina: Thanks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as the day ended and the restaurant ended on its first successful day of operation, Juno woke up just in time for his evening bottle.
Sabrina: Thanks for being so chill today, little guy. We'll be hanging out here pretty frequently, kay? Wouldn't be surprised if people come just to see you. Yeah, you'll see. Things will be great from this point on. I promise.
Sabrina smiles down at their son, imagining what the future will hold for them. In this moment, the future feels really bright.

“Everybody has a crazy person in their family”, says a man on YouTube into a Shure microphone, “and if you think there isn’t one in yours, the crazy person is you”. I do not feel like painting on Wednesday, so I watch a short documentary about comedian and actor Andy Dick’s descent into drug addiction and sexual misconduct, then a man making slow cooked beef with fancy potatoes to his own voiceover narrating a story about a woman he used to date and who says he had to break up with because she was a hoe, but that she could cook amazing food. “You can’t turn a hoe into a housewife. But shout out Erica, I appreciate you bitch”
I feel accomplished in finally taking my bike to the shop for some diagnostics on my wobbling saddle after procrastinating for 3 weeks. The owner’s dog, a perfectly scraggly black mutt, allows me to pet him while my seat post is replaced. I check the dog’s genitals for confirmation that he’s male. By the time I am settling the modest bill, the dog is pawing at my knees pleadingly. I hang around for another hour to chit chat with the bike men who all know me by name and ask how much my paintings cost. We discuss Christmas, and how one guy gave up smoking weed, and how another is from Essex. I have changed a lot since childhood but one thing is the same, which is that I’m fantastic at kicking it with boys who think I’m gay. It is in perceived straightness that trouble seems to start. I think of what C said yesterday about how every girl he dates is overjoyed by his best friend - me - being female. “They are, capital W, WET. It’s like saying you’re in therapy or something”. I tell him this makes total sense, and that I would feel the same way. “But then”, C continues, “a few weeks in, it always always becomes a giant problem”. God, I say, I can see that happening to me too. Also everybody likes a man in therapy until they’re being discussed unfavourably by said man and said therapist. And as C’s female best friend, I truly want him to get laid and / or find love. I wonder if these women meeting me would help with the souring sentiment. I could play up my gayness, perhaps wear a baseball cap. Is it queer-baiting if I’m helping a dear friend get some pussy?
I text J asking for help with choosing my birthday meal, which he has promised to cook. We land on steak for the carnivores, and an expensive mushroom for the vegetarians. This will mark the largest group hosted at the new house to date, and I am still bent out of shape by the lack of pictures on the wall, and a few pieces of furniture I want to scrap. Of COURSE the house isn’t safe from my ruinous perfectionism, and even when what I think needs doing is done, I will want to do something else. I also cannot believe I’ll be 31 years old in less than three weeks’ time. I could have been legally driving for 14 years, and I can be the president of the United States in a mere 4 years. I am still 3 years younger than Mary Kay Letourneau, who had sex with her 13 year old student and got pregnant and went to prison. I watch the film May December in the evening, which is based on Mary Kay’s story. What disturbs me most are the scenes showing a 36 year old father with his 23 year old daughter, and his 18 year old son, and Julianne Moore’s bizarre lisp. I watch, as V told me she did after seeing this movie, the original interview between Mary Kay and Vili, the now-grown student she abused and later married. Letourneau still maintains she was “seduced”, and that Vili was “the boss”
Feeling safe in reintroducing my second cup of coffee of the day, I down one at 5pm and by midnight I am still riding high on caffeine. I have a date the next day that I can’t be bothered with. When I finally fall asleep at 2am I dream that I learn my mother has been sleeping with him the whole time, and I get so angry that I smash my phone into mosaic-sized pieces. Very Christmassy

you remain laser-focused as you land a variety of different punches & kicks at the training dummy, each hit perfectly in-sync with the loud music that’s playing in your ears thanks to your airpods. you’re alone in the dojo right now, so your defenses are down. not completely, but enough to throw caution to the wind. your duffle bag is on the edge of the mat, which holds a towel, your water bottle, your car keys, phone & a copy of the dojo keys kreese gave you on the second day of his takeover, & of course your earplugs. you’d swapped those for your airpods, put on a playlist, & got to training. you'd picked up on kreese's training style like it was nothing, & he's told you that he's impressed with your fearlessness & ferocity, & your ability to think five steps ahead of your current opponent. kyler's become a frequent punching bag opponent during sparring, & you take him down with a few precisely-placed moves, in less than five minutes, every single time. he's not the best student in the dojo, & you usurping that title from him ( not that he ever had that title to begin with ) has seriously fucked with his head. in your opinion, he needed to be humbled, to be knocked down a peg.
he's been getting more & more frustrated by your clear superiority in strength & knowledge in karate, & his emotions makes him stupid. you don't have that issue; by that, you mean you don't have to deal with your emotions getting the better of you during fights. you'd flipped your humanity switch off a long time ago, the second you created this universe. only miguel, tory, cosima, ciro & scarlett have an idea of what you're actually like... but with the rest of the valley, you're closed off. robby is included in that second list, because you're determined not to repeat history with him. it's why you've kept him at arms length & have barely looked his way since he joined cobra kai. you're not pissed at him like tory & scarlett are, you're just... frustratingly uninterested, like you want nothing to do with him.
it’s been two hours since today’s evening lesson wrapped up for the day, & everyone — including sensei kreese — have packed up & left the dojo. it's dark outside. the dojo is nice & quiet, which is honestly how you prefer it. there's not any distractions nearby that could pull you out of training, & you'd even silenced your notifications. you don’t tend to train this extensively, or this intensely. but, you knew you’d be bored at home, stuck inside with the rainstorm that's blowing through the valley, & had some extra energy to work off. so, here you are. you're barely even sweating, & you're not even feeling the slightest bit of exhaustion. ( your nonhuman stamina comes in handy. )
when the dojo's doors open & quickly shut, you don't cast a glance backwards, although you can tell it's only @taughtpain. you could lie to yourself & say you're happy to see him, but you're not. you land another three kicks to the dummy's head in rapid succession, using a little more strength on the third & final kick. the force causes the dummy to rattle violently in place for a handful of seconds, which you ignore. you simply switch your stance, aiming a quick punch at its chest. finally, you turn around, holding his gaze for a split second before pulling an airpod out of your ear, walking over to your phone to pause your music. there's a handful texts from tory & scarlett, which you'd ignored in favor of training. you begin replying, barely even glancing up at robby, like he's not right in front of you. after you hit send on the reply in the group chat, you toss your phone back onto your duffle bag, rolling your shoulders.
❝ if you're looking for sensei kreese, you're shit out of luck. they left a while ago. unless you're here to train, you can leave. ❞ dismission, boredom, & disinterest line your words, & your face conveys this perfectly. ❝ or, you can stay here & wait out the rainstorm with me, since you're already here. i don't fucking care. ❞

a couple months back this group started crap with one of my friends, decan. dragon_ctrl, abominalsnow-man and a few others were the guys names
decan was just looking in her catalogue up by manzita post. dragn guys show up and start saying some sexist crap to her then kill her.
the rest of us in the posse who were scattered about doing our own thing, traveled over to help her.
they were very low level. very easy to kill. after we handed them their asses, they left.
not too long after, we had a friend, pokesith76 put an sos in our chat saying he was in trouble. we spawned in, only to find out it was a trap to ambush us. apparently he was friends with those guys too and he claimed he didnt know it was a set up. needless to say we deleted him after we kicked his friends asses.
couple days later, the "leader" of this gaggle of shitheads, dragon, tries to get one of our friends, boogie, who really pissed him off, to 1v1. boogie asked me and another friend, indi, to spawn in on him in a few minutes just in case the guy brought back up and it was another set up.
so we give it a few minutes and it was exactly that. the guy was too scared to fight alone. so another fight ensues. we kick his groups ass AGAIN. 3 against 6 and we still won.
a couple weeks go by and our friend, legaciessss, sends a message saying he's currently in a fight with dragons posse. we spawn in and beat the shit out of dragon and his friends and they turn tail and run. at this point dragon and his friends are known for trying to start shit and failing miserably.
2 months pass. havent run into them since. a couple days ago, that changes.
my friends and i had just gotten done with king of the castle in saint denis. we took a break to get reloaded on ammo, work on dailys, get supplies and step away from the game to use the bathroom, switch over laundry etc. just a nice break.
i headed into the fence because i needed dynamite. while i was in there, i stepped away to stretch my legs.
i see on my mini map, that a posse is spawning in. nbd. players spawn in anywhere all the time. might even be someone one of us is friends with that jumped to us for whatever reason.
i see them heading towards me in the fence which is nbd. everyone needs to hit the fence for whatever reason and i just happen to be here.
i look at the name and its dragon_ctrl
i know that none of my friends are friends with him or his gang. didnt know how he found us at first.
so i step outside, let them kill me then the fun began. we beat the absolute dogshit out of him and his buddies.
i go to check my phone for a notif i missed and see how he found us.
apparently he started following my profile. i keep my profile open because i couldnt really give a shit if people try and use it for that reason.
earlier, i got a notif, saying abominal started following me. i figured he was going to try the same thing so i blocked him and dragon, and then changed it so only friends can follow me. rest of my profile is open though.
my buddy boogie spawns in and relays an absolutely cringey and sad story.
he originally jumped on legaciesss who told boogie to leave immediately as he was fighting dragons gang and didnt want them to be able to jump on boogie.
legaciesss got the scoop, told boogie then told me.
apparently, these nutsacks, we pissed them off SO BAD, that they joined a notorious griefing group and for the last 2 months, have been going through "training." the other day was the first time they were let loose.
the griefing group is well known with a lot of members and the only way i can describe this group of people is that imagine if cobra kais were also like hardcore christains. they also claim to be anti griefer which is fucking nuts.
legaciesss beat their asses much like weve been doing so needless to say, the training didnt do shit. they still suck.
but now its even more motivation to dog walk the fuck out them should our paths cross and im sure they will.

Those Puppy Eyes, It's No Surprise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day Six: Edging | 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐓𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓
Eren Yeager x f!reader Genre: Smut Notes: I've always known, but doing Kinktober has been a real awakening for how into cheating fics I am 😭😭 Warnings: 18+, consensual sex, fingering, vaginal penetration, cheating, edging, degradation, spanking, creampie. Words: 1.7k
Tumblr media
Eren was by your side as you sat on the couch. Your feet rested on his lap and he was stroking your legs. He put some trashy Netflix original on for background noise, neither of you were paying attention. Instead, your noses were buried in each of your phones. He kept reading some quotes from a boring news article he was reading while you were talking in your girly group chat with your friends. You received a twitter link from one, accompanied by the message: ‘omg this is soooo hot 🥵💦’. You weren’t expecting to open the link to a two-and-a-half-minute clip of some amateur porn. You felt your face become red hot as the man in the clip moaned and whispered obscenities to his female partner. You tucked your phone in your pocket and avoided eye contact with Eren, instead deciding this trashy movie was in actual fact a masterpiece.
“What the fuck?” he laughed.
“Hm?” you spoke, feigning innocence. You still didn’t give him the honour of your stare.
“Were you just fucking watching porn ya little freak?”
You wanted the ground to swallow you whole. You tried to explain that a friend sent it to you, and instead, you were gifted with a sarcastic ‘yeah, sure’ as a reply. He pinned your ankle down with one hand, and used his other to get the sole of your foot and began tickling you intensely until you admitted the truth. You had already, and he does believe you. He’s only teasin’…
“Okay Eren stop!” you screamed and kicked.
He released you and went back to running his thumb over your leg. You were staring at the movie playing but nothing was being retained. It was genuinely just, noise. You were thinking about the clip, the caption. It was bothering you. Like, really bothering you. It was a kink you’d discussed with friends before. They all claimed it was amazing, but you didn’t see the appeal.
“Have you ever edged your girlfriend?” you asked Eren. His eyes fluttered shut. It was a look to say he’s tired of this shit. You always ask him the dumbest questions and he’s sick of you. But he’s your best friend. What is he here for if not to annoy the life out of him? But you were curious.
“Sometimes it’s okay to not talk.” he tells you as his eyes open again and his vision finds you.
“Don’t be annoying,” you began. Eren scoffed at that. You of all people telling him to not be annoying? What a laugh. “Have you ever edged Mikasa?” you asked again.
“Not talkin’ about that with you, stop asking about my sex life weirdo.” he informed you. He grabbed his phone and began scrolling again hoping he could tune you out.
“WHAT?!” you yelled a little louder than intended. “Since when don’t you want to brag about your sex life? Just answer the question.” you snickered and demanded. He was being so weird with you.
“Since you’ve just been watching porn in front of me, what, are you horny? You did say it’s been a while since you got any cock.” he jeered. Your eyebrows knitted and you felt a rumble in your throat. He’s supposed to be your best friend and he’s being mean.
“Oh-fucking-kay, dickhead. Was only curious because that’s what the video my friend sent was about. Don’t see the appeal, s’all.” you informed him. He sighed and looked at you, pulling his lips into a tight smile.
“Not with Mikasa, other girls though, yeah.”
It’s true that Eren is quite successful with women. You’re practically a virgin compared to him. But in reality, you’ve fucked around a few times. Even with Eren. Again, he’s your best friend. What are you friends for if you can’t hook up when you’re drunk and lonely? He’s certainly the best you’ve ever had.
“Could you… Show me?” you wonder. He scoffs. He’s disgusted, but he’s smiling. You’re so predictable. He knew you were going to say that. You’ve been friends with Eren for as long as you both can remember. So because of that, because you’ve known him forever, he can read you like a book.
“No?”
“Why not?”
“Because I’ve got a fucking girlfriend!” he tells you as he readies himself to stand up and leave. But you’re too quick for him. You crawl over to him and straddle him speedily. He could pick you up easily. But… you’re here now. No use moving you. Of course if he really wanted you to stop he could make you. He could push you away. But it obvious now, as his hands rest on your thighs and he strokes your soft skin with his thumbs, he doesn’t want to do that.
“I won’t tell her. C’mon… You’re my best friend. Think of it as a sex ed lesson.” you tell him. His eyes squint. He’s searching your expression and he can’t help but smirk at that cheeky smile on your face. Oh, you’re good. You’re fucking good.
“If I say yes… IF, you’re not allowed to go gettin’ feelings for me. Yeah? It’s just sex.” he tells you. His one condition on doing this. His poor girlfriend, he didn’t take much convincing. Poor Mikasa indeed.
“Don’t flatter yourself Eren, we’re just friends. No feelings here.”
“Alright then.” he responds. He wraps his arms around your torso to pull you down to him. You begin to kiss and rut your cunt against his jean clad crotch. “Take those little shorts off f’me.” he instructs. You do as you’re told as he unbuttons his jeans. Even soft he has an impressive size. It’s been a while since you’ve fucked him. Feeling his entire length inside of you is dizzying. You return to the sofa and lie on your back for him. He spits into your cunt and teases your clit.
“Oh fuuuuuck Eren. Those fucking fingers,” you cry out.
“Knew you’d get feelings for me when you remembered how good I am at owning this pussy.” he mocks you. You choke out a laugh and then beginning shuddering and moaning from the contact.
“’m not getting feelings! J-Just, just friends. Just fucking friends.” you breathe raggedly. You’re completely lost in his touch.
“Yeah baby, that’s right. Just fucking friends. Friends who fuck.” he mutters as he increases the pace he rubs your clit. You squirm around on the couch, desperate for your release.
It’s close. It’s so fucking close you can feel it. You’re practically screaming Eren’s name. Telling him how good he is. How perfect he is. How incredible his perfect fingers feel playing with you like this. You confess that you’re about to lose it. You’re about to cum for him.
“’m cumming—!” and he stops. “Eren! Please!”
“Aw, y’wanna cum for me now? You really gonna sit there and act like you didn’t want me to show you what edging is?” he belittled you. You sniffed a little sob. You knew you wouldn’t like edging. Why did you let that stupid fucking video your friend sent get the better of you?
“I wanna cum for you Eren, please…” you whimper. You hope those big trusting eyes of yours will get to him. They almost always help you get what you want. “Will you fuck me?” you add. The twitch of his cock doesn’t go unseen.
“Yeah I’ll fuck you babe,” he speaks sinisterly. “Get on your hands and knees.”
Tumblr media
Cries of his name came out in broken, needy whines. He fucked into you so harshly. It was agonising. To feel him constantly slam against your g-spot was like opening a Christmas present without tearing the wrapping paper. Tears streamed down your face. He’d been fucking you like this for thirty minutes. And when he felt you clench, he’d stop. He kept fucking stopping.
“I need it!! Eren, I really fucking need it!”
“You wanted this so don’t fucking forget it. And something else about edging is that I can punish you if you cum without my permission.” he hissed as his palm met the fat of your ass. You groaned as he picked up the pace once more.
Your face was sodden with tears. Maybe if you didn’t make so much noise and fuss you could cum quietly without him knowing. He knew you were plotting when you weren’t complaining for more than five seconds. Too fucking quiet for him.
“Don’t you even think about cumming,” he growled. “If you fucking cum right now it’ll be the last time you do.” he tells you.
Your face is resting on the couch cushion seats as he rams into your tired hole. There are damp patches in the material of the couch from where you’ve cried into them. You can’t take it anymore. You can’t take him. The perfect graze inside, the sweet delicate area deep in your walls is being constantly hit by his fat cock head. You’re gushing out slick for him. He thinks it’s so cute. The way your pussy squelches and makes the prettiest noises for him as your gorgeous arousal drips onto the floor below.
“Eren pleeeeaaaase! I can’t take it anymore! Fuck, please please please!” you beg. The mascara you’d been wearing is smeared down your soaking cheeks. He thinks you look like a perfect little whore. Is it right for him to think his sweet best friend is a dirty dirty whore? “J-Just let me, just let me! Just let me Eren I’ve been so good f’you. Lemme cum!” it was a mistake to ask for Eren’s help. He’s fucking sadistic. His hand reached around you and spread your lips apart, he wanted to toy with your pretty pearl more. You’re unravelling. He’s making himself the undoing of you.
“If you cum before I say I’m never gonna help you again, never. Y’hear? I’ll never fuck you again.”
And you try to hold on, you do. But it’s over before he even finishes his sentence. The wire snaps and you’re flooding yourself all around him. He spanks you as your gummy walls suck him in. He didn’t want to cum inside. He was gonna pull out and spray your back. He’d already crossed the cheating line, but for some reason Eren felt that cumming inside was the official betrayal.
“Eren I’m sor—”
“Save it.” he tells you. Slapping your rear one last time. “Need to think of a way to punish this cunt s’more.”

Working on a LawRusso, post-divorce accidentally hot Daniel thing -
Johnny didn’t like that he had a smartphone. Sure, it had funny games on it, and he could use it to take pictures of Miguel doing his silly dances after a good sparring session, but other than that, it was a nuisance. Even more of a nuisance was the shit that he got on that smartphone. He still didn’t have a Facebook – he still wasn’t even sure what that was – but he was part of a group chat with most of his Cobra Kai students.
That group chat alone was enough to drive him to drink, even when he had mostly managed to kick his habit after kicking Kreese to the door. He couldn’t understand half of what those kids said, much less keep up with the conversation (how did they type so fast?), so mostly he ignored it. But sometimes, when he was bored and Iron Eagle had just ended, he would scroll back through the messages to see what was going on.
It was just boredom, but boredom always brought trouble with it.
“Did you hear that Sam’s parents are getting divorced?” Aisha’s text from (he checked the date) three days ago said. Johnny sat forward in his chair. He hadn’t heard from LaRusso in a while – not since Robby had gotten out of juvie and moved into his place. It had been all radio silence since then, not that Johnny was complaining. Daniel LaRusso had a way with ruining his life.
“Yeah, she told me. She seemed pretty upset,” Miguel had responded.
“My mom said it was karate that broke them up,” Aisha replied.
“Yep,” was all Miguel had replied.
The conversation drifted after that, lingering on Hawk’s new mohawk color (purple), and whether or not he was going to change the color of his tattoo’s hawk. Johnny scrolled through, his thumb obscuring half of the messages. He kept his eyes peeled for another mention of the LaRussos (out of curiosity, of course), and stopped at a message from this morning, a picture sent by Tory.
“Spotted: newly divorced Mr. LaRusso at Home Depot at nine a.m. on a Saturday,” the message said. The picture was blurry but there was no denying that he was looking at a picture of Daniel LaRusso, in jean shorts and a baggy flannel shirt, his hair mussed and, if he looked closely, a streak of grey by his temple.
 It was a good look.
“DILF,” was all Hawk’s reply said, and then a flurry of little picture emoticons that Johnny didn’t understand.
He had to use the Google to figure out what a DILF was.

angstpril day sixteen: silence
+
alternative eleven: coma
CW: physical trauma, mental health issues, implied/attempted su*cide, very very very long
fic under the cut
There was another explosion on the other side of the rock they were hiding behind. Lin turned to her sister and placed her hand on her cheek.
“I love you,” She said before running out from behind the rock.
“Come and get me, you Third-Eyed Freak!” She jumped up, away from P’li’s blast.
Her ears had already been ringing for a time, each of P’li’s attacks making it worse. She didn’t have the time to pay it any attention though, and sent a slab of earth flying at the firebender. P’li blew it up before it got close and Lin sent another two slabs towards her. This time P’li dodged the slabs, retaliating with two attacks of her own. Lin jumped out of the way and rolled, bending an earth wall for protection. P’li’s explosion destroyed the wall, sending Lin backwards. She propped herself up, the ringing in her ears almost unbearable now, and watched as P’li reared up for another attack.
Just as she was sure she was about to die, Su bent her armour at P’li. It wrapped around her head, containing the firebender’s explosion and instantly killing her instead. Lin watched Zaheer spin around on the part of the cliff on which he stood, Korra taking advantage of his lapse in focus to attack him with fire. He sensed her attack before it was too late and dodged it, sending a puff of air towards her and knocking her out. Lin leapt to her feet, taking a second to steady her dizziness, before running up the rocks to where Zaheer was picking up Korra’s limp form.
She heard Su say something beside her, but couldn’t make out any words. She took a step forward as Zaheer said something, ignoring the ringing in her ears.
“Release the Avatar,” Her voice felt disconnected from her body, the words forming fine but sounding wrong.
She heard Zaheer’s voice again, followed by Su yelling something she could almost make out as actual words. Zaheer’s mouth moved one last time before he stepped backwards off the cliff.
“No! Stop!” Lin felt herself yell as she and Su ran to the cliff’s edge, sending their cables after him.
He dodged both of their attacks and flew away from them, gracefully floating towards the airship in the distance with Korra draped over his shoulder.
“Did he just… fly?” Lin asked in disbelief, staring after him.
She heard Su mumble something beside her and looked at her sister in confusion. Su cocked her head to the side and said something else, stepping closer to Lin. Concern took over her face as she said what could have been Lin’s name, but she couldn’t be sure. Su grabbed her arm and pulled her down the uneven rocks, back towards their temporary camp. They made their way down the mountainside until they reached the small group at the base, Korra’s father and a few others getting patched up by Su’s metalbenders.
Su pulled Lin aside for a moment before they got all the way back, taking her hands and forcing her to look her in the eye. Lin tried to read her lips as she spoke, but was left even more confused than before. The ringing had dulled by now, but so had every other sound. She could hear when someone was talking, and could mostly recognize the voice, but their words were too muffled to make out. After a minute Su squeezed her hands sadly and they walked back to the camp.
Just as they got there, everyone looked up. Lin followed Su’s gaze, spotting Mako, Bolin, Asami, Kai, and Tenzin on the back of a baby bison. She rushed forward alongside Su, immediately helping Korra’s friends off the poor bison’s back. She shook her head in an attempt to get at least a little more of her hearing back, but it was to no avail. As the group walked back to the makeshift camp, she tried to listen to what those around her were saying. When she still couldn’t make any of it out, she fell to the back of the group, hanging her head and kicking rocks as she walked.
She kept to the outskirts of the group as they talked, trying not to notice that with every passing second the voices became quieter and quieter. By the time they seemed to have a plan, there was nothing.
She followed those who hadn’t been assigned to stay with the injured, keeping to the back of the group as they travelled along the mountain. After walking for a while, Kai called Lefty and Oogie down to them and they all got onto the sky bison. The two beasts lifted off, Kai guiding them somewhat aimlessly around the mountain range, until pointing down suddenly.
Lin watched as he and Mako seemed to exchange a few words, Kai getting very animated out of nowhere, before they flew down towards a small cave. They all got off of the sky bison, Bolin and Tonraq pulling back to help Tenzin stay upright. He said something to Su before the rest of the group charged into the cave, encountering several Red Lotus sentries. Mako took out the first while Su attacked the second, leaving Lin to make her way further into the cave. A distracted sentry turned towards her just as she sent a rock flying towards him, knocking him out cold.
Su ran past her and hugged Opal, who was seated on the ground with the rest of the airbenders. Bolin rushed in after them, pushing Su aside and hugging Opal himself. Lin felt herself chuckle at the interaction, but quickly quieted and shook her head. It was an odd sensation, being able to feel that she was making noise but not being able to hear it.
She shook her head again and spotted Kya, rushing to her side as quickly as she could. She wrapped the waterbender’s arm over her shoulder and pulled her to her feet, letting her lean almost her entire weight on her as they staggered out of the cave. Lin felt vibrations in Kya’s chest as they walked and her eyes started to sting with the knowledge that Kya was trying to talk to her. She swallowed the lump in her throat and brought Kya to where Tenzin was propped up, setting her down beside him before going back into the cave.
Su glanced at her on her way out of the cave, giving Lin a look that she knew meant she’d talk to Kya for her. Her eyes stung momentarily again before she focused her energy on the task at hand, helping several more airbenders up and ushering them out of the cave. Once everybody was safely out, she made her way over to where Kya sat.
Lin squatted down next to Kya, putting a hand on her knee and avoiding meeting her eye. Kya cupped her scarred cheek and tilted her head up, forcing the metalbender to look at her. A tear slipped from Lin’s eye and Kya’s thumb brushed it away before Lin pulled back, shoving down her sudden flood of emotions. Su waved her towards the gathering of people around her and she looked one last time at Kya before making her way over.
Su placed her hand on Lin’s back as the group discussed the situation, glancing sideways at her every few seconds. Lin’s face twisted into a scowl and she turned her gaze to the ground, tapping her foot impatiently. Everyone looked up at something happening in the air at one point, Lin finally shifting to look where they did and seeing Korra battling Zaheer midair.
Zaheer was flying still, sending relentless attacks at Korra. Korra seemed to be struggling a great deal, but was still doing a decent job of keeping up with him. Lin jumped in surprise when Kai and all the other airbenders ran past her, standing in a circle below where the fight was taking place. Jinora started up a small air vortex, the other airbenders helping her to make it larger and larger. Lin looked up at Korra and Zaheer, watching in horror as he began to suffocate her. Just before he finished the job, though, the vortex got big enough to distract him.
His grip on Korra faded, causing her to tumble over the edge of the cliff she’d been on. He dove down after her, grabbing her and trying to fly away, but the vortex around him was too strong. He tried a few times before dropping Korra, making it out of the vortex on his own. Lin couldn’t believe her eyes when Korra miraculously woke up, throwing her arm towards him and twisting herself just perfectly so that the platinum chain around her wrist caught his ankle.
She dropped down then, pulling Zaheer with her and landing them both hard against the earth. Lin rushed towards them with Su and the others, watching as Korra collapsed. Lin felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Su, who nodded at Zaheer. Lin nodded back and the two bent an earth prison around him, trapping him thoroughly before moving back towards Korra.
Lin looked back and forth as Su yelled something at a wickedly smiling Zaheer, Jinora then yelling something at her. Su ran towards Korra, kneeling by her head and closing her eyes in concentration. She seemed to be metalbending somehow, pulling a poison from Korra’s body. Lin stood there watching, unsure of what to do with herself.
Korra woke up and hugged her father tightly, Bolin and Opal doing the same. The airbenders all embraced one another, chatting and recalling the events energetically. Lin hung her head and stood back, not looking up until someone’s arm wrapped around her shoulder.
She looked up to see Su smiling sadly at her, pausing for only a second before crushing her sister in a hug. She felt so far from everyone even though everyone was right there, so feeling her sister’s arms around her was reassuring. She thought for a second of Kya’s healing abilities, but then remembered how Kya had looked at her earlier. There was no healing this one. She knew it would take some getting used to, and she’d have to find another way to communicate, but she decided then and there that she could do it with help from her friends and family.
———————————————
Kya knew Lin had been having a hard time with losing her hearing. They’d been leaning on each other in the time since the attack, but Lin had been going out less and less. She’d spent a good bit at the island, trying her hand at healing Korra and enjoying her family’s company. Lin had stopped joining her on her excursions a while ago, writing that it was easier to not see people at all than to struggle though stilted communication. Kya was used to the silence that filled their apartment now, but she still couldn’t help but get scared every time she couldn’t find Lin immediately upon getting inside.
Today was one of those times.
She didn’t bother calling for Lin, instead stepping heavily as she entered the apartment. Usually Lin would emerge from her hiding spot of the day when she felt Kya’s footsteps, but not today. Something was different today. Kya set down her things on the kitchen counter, limping her way through the apartment. Lin wasn’t in the living room, the main bathroom, or the guest room. Kya’s heart pounded in her chest as she opened their bedroom door, hesitating a moment before peeking in.
Lin was there alright, lying in their bed, sound asleep. But something was off. She was on top of all the covers, her hand hanging off the side of the bed. Kya walked around to the other side of the bed, watching Lin as she did. She almost jumped out of her skin when a rattling came from something she’d accidentally kicked. She bent down to see what it was, picking up the small green glass bottle.
“No…” She whispered, throwing the pill bottle on the bed.
“No, no, no, Lin,” She said louder, now on the verge of tears.
She grabbed the water from the glass she always kept on her side of the bed, focusing as hard as she could to check and heal all of Lin’s vital organs. When she was certain she was still alive, she let herself collapse.
“Lin,” She sobbed, grasping Lin’s hand with all her strength.
After a moment she pulled herself together and noticed a note on the table by Lin’s hand. She picked it up and read aloud, the silent apartment suddenly too quiet for her liking.
“Dear Kya,
I am so, so sorry. Please don’t blame yourself, you’ve been amazing. I just don’t have it in me to keep going like this anymore. Tell everyone I love them, would you? And remember how much I love you. I’ll see you again someday, I promise.
Love, your Linny,” Kya stared at the note, taking all of it in.
Lin had failed at her goal. She was still living, breathing, right here. But she was in a very deep sleep, and it was anyone’s guess when she’d wake up. The medicine she’d taken had done a number on her system, and when she did wake up, she’d probably be in more danger than now. Kya placed a hand on Lin’s cheek as the reality of it all settled in, willing away the urge to cry again.
Lin was in a coma, and would have to stay in one for a long time.
Kya forced herself up from the floor, moving to the phone in the hall. She dialed the number for Tenzin’s phone at the temple and tapped her foot anxiously as it rang.
“Tenny?” She blurted as soon as someone picked up at the other end.
“Kya? Is something wrong?” It was Pema.
Kya let out a sigh of frustration and forced herself to smile.
“Hey, Pema. Would you be so kind as to get Tenzin for me?” She held her breath as Pema paused for a moment.
“Sure thing, he’s right here actually,” She said after what seemed like hours.
“Kya, what’s going on?” Tenzin said into the phone a second later.
“Lin, she- I need you to delay Korra’s ship to the South. We’re going with her,” Kya gulped down more tears as she spoke.
“Of course, but is everything alright? You sound like you’ve been crying,” Tenzin cleared his throat on the other end.
“I’ll explain when we get there,” Kya let out a sigh.
“Thank you, Tenny,” She hung up and limped back to the living room, grabbing her jacket and Lin’s satomobile keys before hobbling back to the bedroom.
She put their toothbrushes and a few other essential belongings in her deep pockets, then moved to Lin’s side. She slid one arm under Lin’s back, the other under her legs, and lifted her off the bed. She was grateful Lin had stopped wearing her armour, but still found herself panting with the effort of carrying her by the time she got down to the parking lot.
She all but threw Lin in the back seat of the car, jumping into the driver seat and slamming the door behind her. She didn’t bother to wipe the tears streaming down her face as she raced through yellow lights, getting to the dock as fast as she could. The ferry was almost ready to leave when they got there, her sato being the last one to board before they set off towards the island.
Conveniently, their sato being the last to board meant it was the first to leave the ship. Kya raced down the dock and parked the sato in the small parking lot by the beach. She hopped out as quickly as her injured leg would let her, wrenching the door out and scooping Lin into her arms again. The massive ship that Korra and her parents were going on to return to the South Pole was pulled into the next dock over, not too far but still a decent walk. She decided against trying to limp all the way there while carrying Lin, instead stepping into the water and bending it to propel them forwards.
They got to the dock quickly, Mako being the first to notice them.
“There she is,” He shouted, pointing at Kya and Lin.
Kya stumbled as she stepped out of the water, her weight combined with Lin’s almost bringing them to the ground. She caught herself at the last second, though, landing on her injured leg and stifling a cry. She practically hopped up the steps to where Mako, Bolin, Asami, Tenzin, and Tenzin’s family stood. As soon as she was up, Tenzin insisted upon taking Lin from her, Mako catching her just before she collapsed.
“Kya, is she…” Tenzin asked, looking down at Lin, who was now limp in his arms.
Kya shook her head furiously, leaning on Mako as she got her balance back. She took a second to catch her breath before explaining anything, watching Lin’s peaceful face the entire time.
“She tried- she failed, she’s asleep, I need- I need to get her to mom, but I think she’s gonna have to sleep for a while, but- but she’s okay,” Kya panted as she spoke, turning her gaze to Tenzin on the last word.
He nodded solemnly and started towards the giant ship’s loading ramp, walking up and inside with Lin still in his arms. Mako walked Kya to the ramp and she pretended not to notice how uneven his breathing had become all of a sudden. He brought her to a couch inside the common area on the lower deck, helping her to sit gently. Tenzin placed Lin lengthwise on the same couch, letting her head rest in Kya’s lap. Before they could leave, though, Kya called Mako back.
He came and crouched in front of her, pushing a hair out of Lin’s face before looking up at her. Kya placed a hand on his cheek, wiping away the single tear that escaped his eye when she did. She mustered up the best smile she could considering the situation, drawing in a deep breath before saying anything.
“I’ll take care of her, son, don’t worry,” Mako nodded and closed his eyes for a second before standing up to leave.
He spared one last glance at Kya and Lin before leaving, the loading ramp closing as soon as he was gone. Kya looked at Lin asleep in her lap, running her fingers through her soft, dark grey hair. She looked so calm like this, but it still broke Kya’s heart. She wished she could talk to her, to at least tell her that she was there and not leaving anytime soon, but she knew Lin wouldn’t be able to hear her. Even so, she spoke into the air around them, more to reassure herself than anyone else.
“You’ll be alright, Lin, you’ll be alright. Mom will be able to heal you properly, and you’ll wake up soon,” She looked down at Lin’s face again, wetness slipping down her cheek.
“You’ll be alright,” She whispered again, placing a soft kiss on Lin’s forehead.
“You’ll be alright,” She whispered one last time, this time completely to herself. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the couch, her mind and body equally exhausted and quickly sending her into a deep sleep of her own, though not nearly as deep as Lin’s.

hey! it is a rather different request this time. uh. i know you’ve been having some Mental Health Days tm too, so you absolutely do not need to write this if it’s too much or if you don’t want to. so i’ve been having some pretty fucked time lately, and that included me getting weirdly nauseous because my thoughts were too fast? if that makes sense? like. emotional motion sickness? so i was wondering, if any of your ocs suffer from depression or any other mental illness, could you write them getting sick from that w their partner comforting them? (id especially love shayne and charlie, but it’s up to you!)
i know this is a very intense request, so you can very much 100% ignore it/delete it/tell me to stfu/ whatever you need. thank you, i hope we all feel better soon <3🍄
Note: this is not the fluffy fic I was talking about yesterday.
Mild spoiler alert, but I want to give some context. While I was working on this and one other fic, I started thinking about how difficult it can be to believe someone loves you when you’re at a dark point in your mental health, and I want to explore that a bit with both Charlie and Shayne. That’s why Shayne says “Thank you” at the end of this fic; he’s not being an asshole, he’s just taking a moment to recognise and appreciate that Charlie loves him.
CW: anxiety attack, emeto, mild touch aversion and trust issues
_____
Charlie had been sitting in the single armchair with his laptop all morning, lost in the depths of the Internet. It had started off as a single scouring of his university’s website, which had ended in him lightly stalking the Facebook page for their LGBTQA+ society. From there, he’d ended up finding a Facebook group for incoming students for his course, and gotten added to a private chat with a few of them. One girl had found a copy of the semester’s reading list, and from there, Charlie had gone on a tangent of trying to find cheap copies of the books on various websites. His older brother Jonathan had warned him about how university libraries sometimes only stocked one copy of a book that sixty students would all need on the same day, and Charlie wanted to be prepared.
It wasn’t until someone in the chat said they were leaving to go get lunch that Charlie realised how long it had been since he’d looked up from the screen. He said goodbye to them and closed the lid of his laptop, stretching his arms out over his head. His legs were draped over the arm of the armchair, so he stretched those out too, almost kicking Shayne in the head since he was sitting on the sofa.
“Oh! Sorry,” he giggled, hopping up and placing his laptop on the cushion where he’d been sitting. “I hope you don’t feel like I’ve been ignoring you.”
“Nope.” Shayne had his head propped up on one hand, his eyes slightly glazed over. He sounded like he could have been in a bad mood, but those were sometimes hard to distinguish from normal moods, so Charlie tried not to read into it.
“How are you doing?” Charlie asked, slumping down on the sofa. He reached over and brushed his fingers through Shayne’s hair, his heart sinking when Shayne flinched at the contact. “Something wrong?”
Shayne shrugged, gaze dropping to the floor as he folded his arms across his middle. Charlie immediately began to analyse the situation, his heart thrumming with the frantic worry he always felt when Shayne began to clam up.
“Are you feeling sick?”
Shayne shrugged.
“If you are, I can get you some medicine.”
“No.”
“Okay.” Charlie cleared his throat. “I was thinking of having lunch soon, if you want to join me.”
“No, I don’t –” Shayne leaned forward, burying his face in his hands. “You don’t get to decide what goes in my body, Charlie.”
“Whoa.” Charlie sat forward too, wishing he could get a glimpse at Shayne’s expression. “That’s not what I was trying to do.”
Fists clenched by his sides, Shayne got up from the sofa. “Just leave me the fuck alone, okay?”
“Okay,” Charlie said in a small voice. He wrung his hands in his lap, letting his eyes follow Shayne across the living room.
He paused by the door to the hallway, like he was considering whether or not he actually wanted to storm out. In the end, he turned around again, crossing his arms.
“Shayne?” Charlie eased himself to his feet. He knew sudden movements probably wouldn’t make Shayne any worse, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
“No.” Shayne shook his head and started walking back and forth. His fingers were digging into his upper arms. “No. Don’t. Don’t.”
Charlie felt sick. He couldn’t tell if Shayne was talking to him, or to himself.
As much as it killed him to just stand and watch, he kept himself planted on the spot and let Shayne pace back and forth. It was better for him to use up some of his nervous energy for a few minutes. Charlie knew the last thing he should do was try to control him when his anxiety acted up, since it was usually the feeling of losing control that caused it.
What he wasn’t expecting was for Shayne to suddenly turn and fling himself towards him, head hitting Charlie’s shoulder with force.
He was gasping as he tried to get words out. “I-I can’t – Charlie, everything’s messed up. My stomach, my chest – I can’t fucking breathe–”
“Oh, lovely, it’s okay, it’s okay,” Charlie whispered as calmly as he could.
Shayne exhaled deeply, his body falling still for a moment. It felt like a calm before a storm. Charlie held his breath, not quite sure what kind of storm to expect. He realised he wouldn’t have been shocked if Shayne had turned around again and punched a hole in the wall.
In the end, Shayne just jerked his head back, his eyes watery and unfocused. The tension in the air changed, becoming less intense but a lot more delicate.
“Are you okay?”
Shayne shook his head.
“What’s wr–?” Charlie started to ask, cutting himself off when Shayne abruptly spun on the spot and leaned over, a weak stream of sick pouring from his lips. “Oh.”
“Fuck,” Shayne whimpered, pressing a hand over his mouth. It had landed mostly on the glass coffee table and not on the rug, at least. He gave a muffled “Sorry” from behind his hand before he sank back onto the edge of the sofa.
“Hey, don’t – don’t worry.” Charlie dragged over a metal bin that lived in the corner of the sitting room, mostly for used tissues and snack wrappers to be thrown into. Luckily, it was empty now. He knelt down in front of Shayne, who was still covering his face as he leaned on his knees. “There’s a bin, in case you feel sick again.”
Shayne just shuddered in response.
“Hey,” Charlie sighed, resting a hand on his shoulder. His breath was a serious of ragged gasps again, making his body convulse so badly that Charlie couldn’t tell if he was still retching or not. “Are you okay? What – what happened there?”
“Everything… Everything was too fast, in my head.” Shayne let out a shaky sigh, fingers clinging to his hair now. His eyes were squeezed shut. “Charlie, what the fuck’s wrong with me? What am I going to do?”
“Hey, hey, hey, look at me.”
“I can’t.”
“Look at me.”
“I can’t, Charlie!”
“Shayne, trust me, alright?” Charlie extended both arms, palms facing up. “Squeeze my hands.”
The breath shuddered out of Shayne as he took Charlie’s hands, closing his fingers tightly.
“Alright, now, count backwards from ten with me. Ten –”
“Ten…”
By the time they reached zero, Shayne’s grip on Charlie’s hands had relaxed, and there didn’t seem to be any fresh tears on his face. He was shaking, and his eyes were searching Charlie’s like he was waiting for them to spit out the meaning of life. Charlie had never felt like more of a fraud, a charlatan; he hadn’t even been sure that the counting-backwards-from-ten thing would work, but he was glad that it had.
“Okay? You with me?” Charlie whispered.
Shayne nodded distantly.
“Feeling better?”
“Yeah. No.” Shayne’s teeth chattered as he fought to compose himself. “Sorry. Physically, yes, but everything – everything else is just…”
Charlie shook his head, feeling like his heart might break from watching Shayne try and fail to find the right words. “Lovely, it’s okay.”
“Fuck. The coffee table,” Shayne groaned.
“Hey, that’ll be easy to clean up,” Charlie half-laughed. “I’m gonna go do that now, and then I’ll make us some tea, okay? Do you want to lie down while you wait?”
A short nod, a glassy gaze.
“Okay. Maybe don’t lie on your tummy, though,” Charlie said as Shayne began to move, anxious that he would resort to his preferred position for sleeping and relaxing. “It might make you sick again and make it hard to breathe.”
“’Kay,” Shayne murmured, curling up on his side with his knees almost all the way up to his chest.
Charlie stroked his shoulder and prayed to a god he didn’t believe in that he’d be able to understand what went on inside his head one day. He had a heavy feeling in his chest as he got up from the floor.
Charlie turned around at the door. He both loved and hated how tiny Shayne looked, curled up on the sofa. He drew a deep breath. “I love you.”
Looking exhausted, and also like he was about to start crying again, Shayne nodded and said something in a very low voice before letting his eyes close. He’d mumbled it – badly, even by his own standards – but Charlie was almost certain that Shayne had said, “Thank you.”

In the Steel Samurai Group Chat:
Miles is a huge stickler for continuity. He will absolutely start pulling up clips from episodes to prove his point in an argument, or details from the wiki; he’s probably responsible for updating the wiki in the first place (out of spite after seeing wrong information posted there). He’s also not that big on the spin-offs; while he tries to remain objective, he thinks any that deviate too far from the premise into ridiculous are not worth his or anyone else’s time.
Maya’s much laxer about continuity – she thinks discontinuity can be forgiven if it makes the story work overall. She also likes most of the spinoffs and will tolerate nonsensical plots if they’re fun. However, Maya tends to fill in gaps in the story or setting with her own headcanons, and if those get disproven later on, she will be very grumpy and loudly complain to the rest of the chat, no matter how ridiculous they are. Has also definitely posted fanfic in the chat.
Ema tends to err on the side of better continuity and writing but will take ridiculous plots over boring ones, so can end up siding with Miles or Maya depending on the argument. She tries to be reasonable about unrealistic science — it is a toku show for kids, after all — but when things get really blatant, especially in subjects she knows a lot about, she’ll post very long and angry rants.
Pearl isn’t super into Steel Samurai or its spinoffs (her favorite is Pink Princess) so she mostly just hangs out for Maya. She’s been known to post cute pictures in attempts to derail particularly nasty arguments.
Kay isn’t that into it either (she prefers ninja shows) but there’s one ship she got super invested in thanks to Maya and now she’s just here for those two characters interacting. She’ll usually side with Miles during arguments out of principle, but since Miles dislikes romantic subplots he sees as “unnecessary”, she’ll also heckle him for his lack of romance.
Phoenix is technically a member of the chat but will usually only be on when some massive argument has broken out and someone else ropes him in to try to mediate. Because of his friends, he’s seen enough to be familiar with Steel Samurai, though he’s not that invested in it. Maya and Miles will fight over his support to the point of using the “I’m your best friend!” / “I’m the love of your life!” argument. (Miles would not play the relationship card with Phoenix if he was under suspicion of murder. Miles will play it here.)
Trucy has also used Phoenix’s account to post in the chat. She actually got away with it for a while before accidentally called Miles “Father”.
After one particularly divisive season finale, things got so bad that Phoenix bailed and Maya actually channeled Mia for backup. She was not happy about this but was willing to roast Miles from beyond the grave on her sister’s behalf.
While Simon is more into Steel Samurai than he’d care to admit (he’s watched a lot of kids shows thanks to Athena), he prefers serious samurai dramas over this toku nonsense. However, he finds his boss fighting with a bunch of younger women over a children’s television show hilarious and will fan the flames of the arguments just to see how ridiculous they can get. He’s been kicked out at least once because of this. On the other hand, he has the most knowledge about actual samurai out of anyone and will gladly answer any questions on historical accuracy that he can.
Apollo was invited to the chat, entered during one particularly bad night, and swore to never go near it ever again.
Nahyuta was invited to the group by Simon as kind of a joke but took a keen interest in Steel Samurai and binged the whole series and the spinoffs, as well as going to various fansites to make sure he was getting it ‘right’. This puts him in the weird position of the newbie who has a lot of knowledge about the series but not a lot of emotional investment. He’s probably the calmest of the regular posters, but there have been some awkward moments where he caught a mistake (or something he thought was a mistake) from the longer-time fans.
Rayfa is absolutely not a fan of Steel Samurai. She is just in the chat to prove its inferiority to Plumed Punisher. And she had to watch a lot of episodes to make sure it was bad. (Maya and Nahyuta both agreed she could use some interaction with other people about something not that serious to help her social skills. They didn’t realize she’d get that invested in “not” being a fan.)

Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Hound II
79's was loud, dim, and crowded. There were so many people packed into the building that the air inside felt thick and hard to breathe. Any conversationalists had to shout if they wanted the other party to hear them. The main illumination in the room came from accent lighting, flashing spotlights, and the occasional glowing cybernetic.
It was chaos, and Hound loved every second of it.
He had always been a fan of crowds, of feeling the press of civilization. He and Grizzer were similar in that sense: they both thrived in situations that offered plenty of information to take in.
When the three Coruscant Guard troopers had arrived at 79's, they fell into their traditional pattern. First, Thire had tried a cheesy pick-up line on a beautiful Mirialan female just inside the doors. She had given him a pity-filled smile and turned him down. Thire had been unaffected. His pick-up lines had a 0% success rate, but he kept trying.
Next, Thorn had stopped by the bar on the way in. He ordered a Corellian whisky, light on the ice, and ignored Hound's protests that they would get the first round together in a few minutes. Thorn sipped at his drink as they walked to the Coruscant Guard's standard booth.
The Corrie Guard booth wasn't reserved - as if 79's would allow something like that - but no one else ever sat there. That was one of the benefits of always being planetside with a regular presence in 79's. No trooper from another battalion would ever try to sit at their booth, not without an express invitation.
Before he did anything else, Hound got Thorn and Thire stowed at the booth. The former was drinking while the latter focused on thinking up a new pick-up line. Hound then left to get drinks for the party. This was his favorite part: getting to meet people.
With the warmth of amusement filling him at the antics of his vode and the civvies on the dance floor, Hound made his slow, weaving way to the bar. There, he chatted with brothers and civilians alike while he waited for the drinks he had ordered. Thorn wanted another Corellian whisky on the rocks, Thire requested a hyperdrive, and Hound decided on a surly sarlacc.
As the bartender placed the second drink in front of him, Hound glanced at the people around him. To his right were a Bith and a Sullustan in some kind of embrace. Deciding he didn't want to learn any more, Hound turned to his left side instead. There, he found a pale woman sipping frantically at a cup of what he was sure was a blue bantha.
"Hey, no rush!" he called over the pounding music. "They aren't going to run out of booze."
She smiled wanly at him. "Are you sure? Everyone here is drinking like the bar is closing and they want to be hospitalized by the time it happens."
"Lighten up, Ark!" a pretty girl on the stranger's other side called. She slung an arm around her friend's neck, and Hound caught a whiff of Corellian whisky from her glass. "One night out isn't gonna kill you!"
"It might," the pale woman sulked, taking another swig of her blue bantha.
"Another whiskey, handsome," the louder one said to the bartender, adding a wink that made the infamously slow-moving man pick up the pace.
The wheels in Hound's mind were spinning. The two women might end up being an excellent match for Thorn and Thire. His vode had expressed interest in finding hookups for the night. Who better for a loud trooper and a quiet one than a loud woman and a quiet one?
"Hey, how about I buy this round and both of you help me carry these drinks back to my friends?" Hound asked.
The louder of the two grinned at him. "Two hands, three drinks, and a crowded dance floor? Sounds like a recipe for disaster. It's our civic duty to make sure no one slips in spilled alcohol." The quiet woman simply shrugged, which Hound took as an agreement.
When the bartender came to drop off Thire's hyperdrive, Hound ordered another round for the women. He directed the quieter one to carry her own drink and the hyperdrive while he carried Thorn's Corellian whisky and the surly sarlacc.
"Don't trust me to carry two drinks?" the other woman asked with a faux pout.
Hound smiled and shook his head. "I might need you to clear a path and you seem like you can command attention."
With that, she laughed and struck a dramatic pose that made at least two troopers in the area stare. "Follow me!"
True to Hound's expectations, she led them across the dance floor with ease. When they reached the other side, she paused while Hound took the lead to the Coruscant Guard's booth. When they arrived, the other troopers immediately caught sight of Hound's guests. Thorn glanced away and took another sip of his drink while Thire's entire face lit up with interest.
"Hey, guys this is…" Hound paused, realizing with a guilty pang that he had never gotten their names. "... blue bantha and Corellian whisky. These are my fellow troopers, Thorn and Thire."
The louder woman slid into the booth with a laugh, offering Thorn her hand to shake. "Corellian whisky, also known as Kai. Blue bantha is my friend Ark."
"Ark?" Thire asked, standing so that the quiet, pale woman could sit on the inside of the booth. Hound noticed with interest that Thire was watching Ark closely. He would have bet every credit he owned that Thire would have gone for the bubbly Kai instead.
"Yeah, it's a nickname?" Kai explained, mouth quirking up at one corner. "Her real one is too long for easy use."
"What is your full name, Ark?" Thire murmured. Hound could only just hear him over the music, but he was silently begging his brother not to use one of his pickup lines on the poor woman.
"Arkularia," Ark answered with a grimace. "I know it's a lot."
"I think it's beautiful," Thire said fervently.
Ark's pale cheeks reddened and she gave a single nod in thanks.
Hound's amused look was echoed by those of Thorn and Kai. Thorn, of course, took the chance to egg his brother on.
"What's wrong, Thire? Run out of your famous pick-up lines?"
"Pick-up lines?" Kai asked, sounding intrigued.
Ark's cheeks reddened further. "Do they work often?"
"Ehh…" Thire hedged.
"Never," Hound chimed in.
Thorn took another gulp of whiskey. "Not on the sane ones."
Kai winked at Thorn as she loudly said, "I think Ark wants to hear one of those pick-up lines, Thire. Do you have one for her?"
Thire looked at Ark for direction, but she only lifted a pale brow. Defeated, Thire took a deep breath and put on his cockiest smile. Hound counted Thire as a friend and that smile still made him want to hit the man in the face. "Hey, Ark, I've got a problem. I lost my comlink frequency. Could I have yours?"
The group dissolved into laughter and the proverbial ice between the two groups seemed thoroughly broken.
"So, Corellian whisky, huh?" Thorn asked Kai, who grinned. "You have good taste."
"Back at you," Kai said, inclining her glass to connect lightly with Thorn's. "I don't know how they get away with selling this vintage so cheap here."
Thorn's eyes sharpened and Hound fought back a smirk. The alcohol prices at 79's had been a source of much discussion from Thorn over the years, and Hound was glad his brother had finally found someone to share that interest with. Especially since Hound wouldn't have to be part of the conversation.
"Well, I have to go," Hound said, tipping back the last of his surly sarlacc.
"Wait, what?" Kai asked. The sentiment was backed up by the expression on Thorn's face. Thire and Ark paid exactly no attention to his announcement, their interest clearly captured by each other.
Hound shrugged. "I have to report for an early morning shift in a few hours. I need to rest up if I'm going to make a good impression on the good people of Coruscant."
Thorn frowned. "What are you talking about? Earlier today, you told the commander that you would be fine to stay out late."
Hound pressed a hand to his chest in mock offense. "Why, Thorn! Would I ever be so irresponsible?"
"Always," Thorn said dryly.
"I can't hear you over the music!" Hound shouted, too loud even in the din that was 79's. "See you tomorrow!"
He left before Thorn had a chance to deliver a retort, but he noted with more than a little glee that neither Thire nor Ark had noticed him leaving.

Ark I
Thire was charming, there was no doubt about it. He had spent the past two hours asking questions about Ark and actually listening to her answers, as if her every word was fascinating. Most men saw her as an easy way to get to the talkative and flirtatious Kai - at least, if they didn't know anything about who Ark was - but Thire's attention seemed fixed on quiet Ark.
"So, what do you do here on Coruscant?" he asked.
Ark relaxed a fraction. Bars and clubs weren't exactly her scene, but her work? She could talk about that all day.
"Kai and I work as part of an information securities team."
"That sounds… really cool, actually," Thire said, admiration in his voice.
Ark felt an odd urge to preen under the half-compliment before her better sense kicked in and she quashed the temptation. "It pays the bills," she said instead, giving a casual sort of shrug.
"What kind of information securities are we talking about here?" he asked, encouraging her to go on.
For the first time in their conversation, Ark hesitated. Ransom always emphasized how important it was to keep a low profile, but this was Thire. Goofy, pick-up line-using Thire couldn't be anyone of enough importance to get them in trouble.
"Well, we specialize in data recovery," she told him. "Lately, we've been branching out into a new service. Businesses hire us to test security measures and report our findings."
"That's awesome!" Thire enthused, and Ark was relieved to see no hint of deeper understanding or curiosity in his dark eyes. "Do you have, like, a team name?"
"It- It's not exactly a team," she clarified, hoping he wasn't going to get condescending. "It's a business. A thriving one, actually. We're called Red Squad."
Thire frowned and Ark tensed. Would he recognize the name? Instead, he gave a broad grin after a moment had passed. "What a coincidence! We're a red squad!"
"Oh, is red your unit's chosen color?" Ark asked politely.
"Yep, Coruscant Guard crimson," he bragged. "Planetary landing squads will try to make it sound like they have the only important job in the GAR, but keeping Coruscant safe is a lot of work."
"You're permanently stationed on Coruscant?" Ark double-checked, trying to hide the surprise she was feeling. It didn't matter - he saw through her attempt to be subtle.
"You weren't expecting me to be around for very long," Thire summarized. His face went polite and distant rather than being warm and friendly like it had been through their previous conversation.
"Not exactly," she admitted, feeling guilty that her thought process had been almost exactly what he expected. "I mean... I know a lot of troopers have to rotate on and off of Coruscant. Is it nice to stay in one place?"
Thire's eyes thawed slightly. "It is, but sometimes I wish I had the chance to see more places. Actively do more good, you know?"
"I think you do plenty of good here," Ark encouraged softly. She wanted to show him that she wasn't some heartless snob who looked down on the troopers who defended her home. "The war may seem far away from Coruscant, but it's only because you and your brothers work so hard to keep us all safe. Thank you for that."
"Listen, Ark…" Thire said gently, but she had trouble hearing him. Instead, loud cheering from Kai and laughter from Thorn stole her attention as they watched someone on the dance floor.
"I don't believe it - a perfect 30!" Kai shouted while Thorn pounded the table with his fist and roared with laughter.
The idea of seemingly stoic Thorn laughing so hard with cheerful Kai brought a smile to Ark's face, but the sentiment was not shared by Thire. Instead, the trooper scowled across the booth.
"Vod, do you mind?" he asked sharply.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry," Thorn apologized, waving a hand in Thire's direction.
"Anyway, is it okay if I comm you sometime?" Thire asked, refocusing on Ark. "I'd like to spend time with you somewhere that I can actually hear you."
"Not much to hear, most days," Ark said with a soft smile.
"Still," Thire pressed. "Would that be okay with you?"
Thire smiled at her, the expression lighting up his handsome face, and Ark paused. The evening had been perfect so far, but how would their next encounter go? She worked hard to cultivate the image of a quiet woman whose most interesting traits were tied to her job. Still, Ark had secrets that couldn't come to light, especially around a trooper of the Coruscant Guard. Plus, Thire was a good-looking, charismatic man with skills and interests far exceeding those he needed for his job. He would figure her out - it would only be a matter of time. She should give a polite refusal and keep the memory of this night a perfect one.
Ark opened her mouth, ready to turn him down, but the open nervousness on Thire's face made her pause. She could not reject him. She wasn't strong enough to choose a quick end to their time together.
Instead, she smiled and nodded, fighting a wave of disappointment in herself. She was willing to wring every drop of happiness from their acquaintanceship before the inevitable end. It was dangerous behavior from a woman whose safety relied on secrecy, but she was hopeful that it would be worth it.
---
A/N - So, this story isn't entirely written from Hound's perspective. He just really likes to talk! I promise, the next chapter will feature other narrators, and will introduce the rest of the characters we're missing.
Per request, the chapters will feature individual warnings about potential triggers. If I miss one, please feel free to let me know!
And yes, some of the drink names in this chapter were taken directly from Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

It's 6am, I just woke up from another dream--
--about Echo returning.
And it's another island adventure dream but FAR MORE OOOHHH OKAY THAN OWWIE OH NO. It had the same energy as Nya trying to figure out who Samurai X was. And Echo was not a villain this time.
Actually the dream had the S14 guy as the villain, the one with the mask, spoilers.
It started with a fight between masked man, who's name I neglect to remember, and the ninja. They barely even get a chance to fight him before someone in a hodded cape swoops in and kicks him clean off his thone/podeum. They guy lands poorly and his leg gets messed up but continues fighting while the ninja just s t a r e at them.
The ninja only make a real reaction when they see the mystery man use the element of wind, and they're all utterly bewildered.
The mystery man can't hold them all off and is knocked far into the forest, presumably dead considering how far he went, and the rest of the ninja are separated into groups (Kai and Cole, Nya and Zane, Jay and Lloyd with Wu and Misako).
It followed Kai and Cole mostly, just discussing the possibility of two elemental masters of wind (they recalled Krux and Acronix) and that this guy could be dangerous. While they're talking, they bump into the motionless body of that cloaked person and Kai literally nearly pukes. Cole manages to get close to the guy and with prompting from Kai, pulls back the hood to see, not a man, but a nindroid! And a nindroid that looked eerily like Zane.
.
That's when it cut to Lloyd and Jay, they're talking with Wu and Misako about the mystery man, and this is where Wu info dumps that, after an elemental master passes without any heirs, the elements will take an unknown amount of time to present itself in a new host. It depends on that persons destiny and whether or not they're fit to use it and yada yada.
Lloyd understands that this would mean morro would no longer be the elemental master of wind, since after the DotD, he legit died and is gone for good. Which resulted in the element passing on. Wu comments that this is the fastest he'd seen an element passing on and presenting itself, and says that whoever this person is, must have been picked for a very good reason.
Jay then starts making a ridiculous list of people that he thinks could be the new master of wind, despite Wu telling him the probability of Jay knowing this master, is near impossible (Jay gets a kick outta this r e a l soon).
.
Then we hop back to Cole and Kai, who are freaking out over the rusty version of their friend who somehow has elemental powers too??
Kai says they should leave him here, saying it could be an evil nindroid, since they were also based off of Zane's prints. Cole argues and says they should take him back for questioning, and that Cole would be very happy to carry him.
While they're arguing, the fake Zane starts to wake up, and in a comedic way, screams at Cole and Kai, who in turn also start screaming. The mystery nindroid awkwardly chuckles and remarks that this was not particularly how he wanted to introduce himself, but anything works...
Kai and Cole begin questioning him and he answers their questions, starting with his name, telling them his name was Zane, but upon seeing their reactions, he says they can call him Echo.
Echo tells them they need to get into shelter, since at night, the island becomes unbearable and deadly. Kai and Cole reluctantly follow, continuing to ask questions while the three of them walk away, Echo limping from his earlier fight.
.
"Why are you on a random island?" Kai asked
"My raft washed up in a lightning storm." Echo replied.
"So did Julien build you too?" Cole continued.
"Yes, I would reluctantly say he is, in essence, my Father"
"Reluctantly?"
Echo did not answer.
Cole broke the silence "Where did you come from?"
"There is a lighthouse, in the-"
"-middle of the ocean between ninjago and the dark islands. You were there?" Kai interrupts.
"You know of the lighthouse? You were there?" Echo wondered "How come you did not know of my presence?"
"Your father never said anything, neither did Zane." Cole answered his question, giving the earth ninja even more of his own.
"Oh, no. My brother would not know of me, I was built in the lighthouse, not--wherever he was built" Echo confirmed "How did you get past the leviathan?"
"Zane swam to the chains and broke them with those star thingys" kai shivered, recalling those star shaped demons--
"Oh, you mean the Starteeth!" Echo begins laughing lightly "You know, one time, a bunch of them washed up and ate through the window in the basement. The basement was flodded and made me all rusty. I couldn't move for a week!" He walked slightly ahead while laughing hard.
He suddenly stopped laughing and looked serious "Looking back on it now, it was probably not funny."
Kai and Cole shared a look before Cole jumped up, realising something, and whispered close to Kai.
"Hold on a second, we completely forgot about his powers!"
"Oohhh, you're right! Hold on, I'll ask 'em."
Cole was going to pull him back to explain how shouldn't just--ask--but Kai had already begun running to catch up.
"So how did you end up an elemental master?"
"An ele-mento-who-what?" Echo fumbled his words.
"An elemental master? Y'know, with the crazy wind powers."
Cole was ready to punch Kai out, the man couldn't be subtle to save his life, which it just might right now.
"Oh! Honestly, Red, I have no idea." Echo had called Kai, Red, as the other two masters had not given their names. "I just remember the lighthouse getting nearly blown into the sea after weeks of strong winds. I had not realised the strong winds were the cause of my emotions. It was--new and scary. Gizmo was there to help me."
"The little cleaning robot? You brought that little guy with you too?" Cole caught up with Kai and the second wind master.
"Of course, he is my only friend! I would not abandon him the way I was. That is too cruel of a punishment for any being, organic or metallic." Echo yelled, a breeze shook the trees. Cole stayed quiet, but silently apologised to the nindroid.
Their questions were ended as they came across a half-cave-half-hut-like shelter. Where the settled and only prayed for their respective brothers.
.
There was a lot more small talk in the dream but I cut it down to the funnier and more important parts.
The next bits of the dream is fuzzy, but I know it revolves around the ninja reuniting and accepting the mystery person into their group while they defeat the evil and escape the island.
Kai and Cole agree to Echo's pleas to not tell Zane for the time being, as he doesn't want Zane to see his brother for the first time looking like--how he looks.
Each of them get some interactions with Echo, with his identity hidden, remaining mute as to not throw them off with his voice. He even has an interaction with Zane where Zane politely asks Echo not to keep staring at him, as he's been doing that since they came together. Zane pegs his curiosity to "he's never seen a nindroid before" and Echo confirms that for him. (unknowing the truuuuth aaaaa)
I'll write Jay's interaction with Echo another time maybe, and how he figures it out, since hoooo boy it hurt. Echo didn't remember Skybound so Jay's just mentally torturing himself for the rest of the journey.
The ninja that find out its Echo is Nya, Jay, Cole and Kai.
.
I'm gonna jump to the end, because my dream also jumped to the end? Rip. But the end what what gave me the Nya and new Samurai X vibes, but less fighting and more chill chat.
.
.
He was on a real boat. Not a makeshift raft constructed out of his father's old bed, table, chairs and shelves, not pushed forward by his newly explained "elemental powers". A real boat, one that would take him away from tiny islands that kept him prisoner, away from the existential dread of loneliness. He'd be free. Free from fearing his last day would be solitary and sad. In one day alone, he'd made a literal boat load of friends. They wouldn't abandon him, not as his father once did.
He was happy, he felt really, truly happy. But he didn't smile. Yes he had friends, but what he wanted more than anything else, was his brother. He was right here on the boat, but Echo's own worries about how his brother would perceive him, how his brother would react to seeing him in such a state (Upon first meeting too! Talk about first impressions), persuaded him to otherwise say nothing.
Deep down, Echo knew he had nothing to fear, he'd heard stories from his father, before he'd locked him away, about Zane and about what it was like--just the two of them. Happy. And from what Echo had seen, Zane was more that strong. Not just physically, nindroid and all, but mentally and emotionally. Echo only wished he had that confidence, the ability to say nothing but be so loud at the same time.
It would make talking to him a lot easier, if he had to say so himself.
Echo, however, had his thoughts interrupted by the sound of footsteps he hadn't even registered, and a soft, yet firm, hand on his shoulder. He tensed just slightly, preparing himself to pull his hood down further.
"It's nice, is it not?" That voice, it was Echo's voice. No, Echo had his voice. His brother was standing right next to him. So close and yet so far, just one swipe of his hood would bring them together, finally. But he resigned himself to simply nod in response. He hadn't come this far to give up now.
A comfortable silence covered the two like a thin layer of snow, fitting considering who was standing next to him. It would almost make him laugh.
"You fought well, out there," Zane started, Echo had thought he was done and nodded again, a small smile forming on his face. Zane may not have known who he was complimenting, but Echo took every moment of it with pride. But then his world span at Zane's continuation.
"For a nindroid."
Zane looked down with a small smirk. Like he'd told the best joke in history. Echo tightened his grip on the wooden railing of the bounty, crushing the paint under his permanently short nails. Zane must've noticed, but didn't say anything. Either in respect for his privacy or because he wanted to hear the confession himself.
In Echo's mind, he was obviously panicking. He didn't want his brother, someone who he'd heard stories from his father, the bot he was built off of, his singular role-model, to find out who he was, like this?
Despite the fear in his ticking heart, he did something probably really stupid and something that would likely result in his downfall. He thanked him.
"Thank you... How- how did you know?" Though, he lowered the pitch oh his voice. It would not be difficult for Zane, or anyone really, to rase the pitch and find out who he was, it still calmed him down just a bit.
"A nindroid knows a nindroid. A brother knows a brother."
Oh I'm f*ucked...
There was only panic, in his systems. The ticking of his clockwork had never sounded louder in his ears. It'd drowned out the sounds of water, the automatic breathing he for some reason had, the cracking of wood underneath his palms was the only sign that ticking was not the lone sound in the world.
He fell out of his anxious trance when the hand left his shoulder and those footsteps came back. No. They were moving away. Echo looked back, moving his fingers to clutch his hood tight against the unintentional winds that now followed him and his emotions. He could see Zane walking towards the steps of the bounty, but halted at the top of them, his hand instead lazily laying on the banister.
"Don't worry, I won't tell them-" He called, just loud enough for Echo to hear over the breeze.
-about what? That he knows who I am? That he'd practically lied to them? That he knew everything all along, because of course he knew, this was Zane, how could he not know, he-
"-Cryptor."
Echo ceased all thoughts from his head. Cryptor? What was that? Was that some kind of fruit? Or a vegetable?
Echo turned his body in the direction of his brother to ask him or at least say goodbye, but he was gone. He'd walked off and down the stairs. Leaving behind not so much as a sheet of frost.
The clockwork child stayed standing there, pure surprise, fear, relief, confusion--actually a lof of emotions he didn't know how to process--flooding his brain. If it weren't for the distant voice of Nya yelling about the sudden gusts of wind changing their direction, he would likely not have moved from that position until they landed.
Cryptor. He thought, it must be a nickname. There was no way he couldn't have figured out Echo was his sibling. He'd said, "a brother knows a brother", they didn't have any other siblings. Right? No. It was just them, just the two of them. The only two nindroids in Ninjago.
His father had said so himself. Although, his father had also buried him under scrap metal and kept him hidden from his family.
Anything could be truth now.
Although Zane had left, and there was no one to hear him, he still felt it necessary to acknowledge what happened. Quietly and sadly, he spoke with a smile.
"Good guess, brother."

SO Uhh I'm gonna assume this was because i watched DotD last night,,, and so both Cryptor, and Morro were on my brain hense wind and Cryptor calling Zane "brother", but I always have Echo on the brain man,,, so uhh. Echo for the new master of wind? Anyone? I think it's cute,,,
I probably missed something, other than writing Jay and Echo's interaction, Jay was so sad throughout the rest of the dream, man. And Echo didn't even know why, it was heartbreaking---but it was also a dream and like all my dreams, they never get made into real things.
But I did like the Zane and Echo bit at the end though. There was a second ending, but it relied on the reveal of echo to the audience at the e n d of the dream. Zane still says Cryptor and Echo turns with the camera getting close to him. And as he turns his head to the camera, you see its Echo and then he says "good guess, brother" BUT NGL I THINK IT HURS MORE WHEN WE KNOW FROM THE BEGINNING SOOO.
My dreams are whack dudes,,,
Also this took nearly 3 hours to write its actually 8:50 now Soooo ilya

Scars You Can’t See - Chapter 12
Chapter title: Beliefs
Word count: about 4100 words
Author’s Note: How did I write over four thousand words?? Mostly I’m just grateful this chapter got out in time, but still. Wow.

...
Over the next few days, Team Sonic dedicated their time to helping their counterparts recover from the exhausting ordeal of the past couple weeks. Tails worked to replace some of Omega’s burnt-out wiring (from his attack on G.U.N.), while Knuckles and Sonic...well, they wanted to take care of Rouge and Shadow, but it was very difficult when both Mobians kept insisting that they were “fine really, don’t worry about us so much” despite looking like they could collapse at any second.
The general stress level on the island was only raised upon a second call from the president, since she requested that a few of them come see her to discuss what should be done with G.U.N. at her office. Shadow and Rouge obviously weren’t going. Neither of them were ready to deal with the president, let alone the press (even if the latter continued to insist otherwise). The sheer idea of being in the same city as G.U.N. had especially shaken Shadow, even if he refused to say so.
Sonic had seen how he cringed at the mere idea.
Since Knuckles absolutely refused to leave his island, it was decided that Sonic, Tails, and Omega would travel together to see the president and hear what she had to say. She seemed pretty trustworthy, and if any of her staff wasn’t...they’d be able to handle themselves just fine.
While Tails helped haul Omega into the back seat of the Tornado (an impressive feat considering that he’d used to struggle with lifting Sonic in his early years) and prepared for takeoff, the hedgehog in question was zipping all around the island, trying to make sure everything would be okay while he was away and unable to defend his friends.
“You guys are sure you’re gonna be alright?” he asked for what was probably the fifth time, after Shadow had needed to physically stop him from starting a mini-whirlwind.
“Yes, Blue, we’ll be fine. Now go! You don’t want to keep the president waiting!” Rouge insisted, pushing the worried hero towards the Tornado.
He twisted around, trying to make eye contact with both of them. “You’re really, really-”
“Sonic.” Shadow said calmly. “It’s going to be alright. I promise.”
The hero could practically feel his body untense, finally willing to jump onto the top wing of the biplane and prepare for takeoff. Before Tails fired up the engine, he took one last look at his friends.
Knuckles had walked up beside Rouge and looked like he wanted to put his arm around her waist without being awkward...which just made him look awkward anyway. The bat took the initiative herself, leaning against him comfortably. Her eyes were back to teal again, since she and Shadow had both taken out their contacts pretty quickly.
Rouge had taken off her leather jacket by now, and Sonic could see it lying on the altar next to Omega’s generator- Angel Island was pretty warm, after all. Shadow was still wearing his hoodie, though he’d taken off the glasses. Omega had tried them on once out of curiosity and nearly broken them in the process...so the hybrid simply hadn’t bothered with it after that. His quills were still in a ponytail, which Sonic wasn’t complaining about in the slightest. (It was a good look on him, that was all!)
He switched on his earpiece and settled into his ‘flight’ position once again. “You guys read me?”
“Loud and clear, hon.” Rouge said. “Now go!”
The Tornado’s engine kicked up a roar as the plane wheeled down the clearing and began to lift off the ground. Knuckles and Shadow both waved, while Rouge opted for a mock-salute, which Sonic returned cheerfully as the plane pulled up above the altar.
He crouched low on the top wing as Tails pulled into a turn, angling the plane so that their course was set for Central City yet again. The fox switched on the turbo engine, too, but it would still take them about an hour and a half to reach the city at this rate.
To pass the time, Tails and Omega started talking almost immediately about how they needed to take some time in the workshop to fix up the latter’s various dents and scratches. Both of them seemed pretty excited about this- the former because he’d get to return to his workshop, the latter for style reasons, and both because they’d get to spend time together. Somewhere along the way, Omega insisted loudly that Tails “must return me to my original color as soon as it is possible to do so.”, clearly less than happy about his current paint job.
Sonic sighed as the conversation turned to advanced technical terminology, feeling a little bored. It was a little funny for him to say so, considering that he was blasting through the sky on a biplane going at speeds rivaling advanced jets...but here he was. Bored.
He tapped his feet, trying to look for shapes in the clouds or enjoy the feeling of the wind on his face, anything to avoid checking how long they’d been up in the air….
Too late.
The hero sighed loudly upon discovering that it had only been ten minutes since takeoff. How could something that was usually so cool be so...just...not?
Sonic quickly decided that he had to call up Angel Island right now so that he could find somebody to talk to. As the earpiece patched through to the other end, he heard a sudden “Ngh-” followed by a loud sigh.
“Hey, everything okay there?” he asked, resulting in a startlingly high shriek from the other end.
“Sonic! Don’t do that!” Shadow hissed at him. “Give me a little warning next time!”
“There’s, like, actually no way for me to do that without talking.” Sonic shot back cheerfully, feeling more upbeat already.
“Ugh.” the hybrid groaned, before some sort of thud came through the mike.
“Seriously, though, you okay?”
Shadow sighed. “I’ve spent the past four minutes walking through a tangled, vine-filled forest in any direction that is away from the altar. It could be worse, but it could be better too.”
Sonic frowned, worried. “And why were you walking away from the altar? Are Rouge and Knuckles with you?”
“No.” the hybrid muttered. “They’re kind of busy making out. At the altar. Which is why I’m not there, obviously.”
“Aw, man...they probably just missed each other a lot.”
Shadow sighed. “I know they did, and I’m not judging them. But they deserve some privacy, and I really deserve to not have to watch that.”
Sonic grinned. “Hah! That’s fair. So whatcha doing now?”
“Lying on the ground next to a lake and watching some Flickies on a tree. You?”
“Sitting on the plane. And bored. Or, at least I was. Bored, I mean.” Sonic amended quickly.
The hybrid snickered. “I’d hope you’re still sitting on the plane.”
His smile only grew. Talking with Shadow was always fun- he didn’t know why he hadn’t called sooner!
“Soooo...you feelin’ any better after those power naps of yours?” he asked curiously.
“Actually, yes. Mostly it helps to not be looking over my shoulder all the time.” Shadow sighed again. “It’s…” he trailed off, clearly embarrassed.
“Hey, you can tell me!” Sonic said encouragingly.
“It's difficult to adjust. I...still catch myself looking over my shoulder only to see it’s a fly buzzing, not a plane, or something like that. I shouldn’t be, but I am.”
Sonic wished he was back at the island already so that he could give Shadow all the comfort he deserved. “There won’t be any planes there, Shadow. I mean it. And none of that ‘shouldn’t’ talk, either, ‘kay? It’s alright to be a little stressed, just remember everything’s gonna turn out fine.”
“That means a lot...thank you. Again.”
Sonic could feel a grin spreading across his whole face. “No problem! Now, what I really need to tell ya about is……”
He spent the rest of the flight chatting with the hybrid, catching him up on all the jokes, memes and random news he’d missed over the past couple of weeks. Shadow was eager to listen, and Sonic was so glad to finally be able to tell him everything that he swore he’d never take his friend’s presence for granted again.
Eventually, though, he was pulled back to reality in the middle of a particularly passionate explanation of why exactly it was so cool that the Tomatopotamus 2 movie’s release date was finally out when Tails tapped on his shoulder. “Uh, Sonic? We’re here now.”
“What?” The hero glanced down, only to discover that yes, Central City was in fact right beneath them. “No way, that was like twenty minutes!”
Omega shook his head. “Correction: it has been an hour and twenty minutes.” He sounded smug for some reason, and Sonic glowered at the robot irritably.
“I guess I gotta go for now, sorry.” he sighed into the earpiece.
“Good luck to all three of you.” Shadow said. “I’ll be listening in, and I’ll go break up Knuckles and Rouge now.”
“Good luck to you.” Sonic snickered. He could practically hear Shadow roll his eyes at that one.
They coasted to a stop on the back lawn of the president’s home, the hedgehog pointedly ignoring Tails and Omega’s conversation about the theory of relativity, or something along those lines. Even though he didn’t know what exactly they were talking about, he could guess, and he didn’t approve. At all.
Sonic hopped off the wing of the plane before it had even finished landing the moment he spotted someone on the grass, waving hello as the president herself walked over to greet them. He rushed over to her, taking her hand and shaking it happily.
He and the president had spoken a few times before- being a hero meant he ended up talking with quite a few famous people, but she was one of his favorites. She was relatively young compared to most of the others who had held that title, but she handled herself with the confidence and strength she deserved (and needed) for this station.
“Hey there! How’s the job?” he asked with an understanding grin, knowing all too well how it felt to be responsible for large groups of people at a time.
She dropped his hand (and the remaining air of formality) in favor of running copper fingers tiredly through her hair, letting out a long sigh. “These last few days have been tough, but I know it’s probably not as much stress as you guys have been dealing with. Still sorry about that, by the way.”
Sonic looked up at her, still sympathetic. “It’s not your fault. I bet you’ve probably got a lot on your plate too- dealing with this fallout ain’t gonna be easy.”
“I know, but it’s what I have to do. For your friends, and for everyone.” she said, squaring her shoulders determinedly.
Tails rushed over not long after, having parked and shut down the plane by now. “Hi, Ms. President! How are you?”
“Hello, Tails,” she said. Impressively, she was one of the few adults who refused to talk down to the young fox, instead treating him like the mature person he was. (This definitely earned her a few extra points in Sonic’s book.) “I’m perfectly alright...I hope you all aren’t doing too badly.”
The president had the thoughtfulness to at least look a little awkward at that, clearly embarrassed by the fact that some of the United Federation’s most famed heroes were now essentially unable to live in the country without being in serious danger.
Omega greeted her as well as he made his way over, clearly alright with being at least somewhat decent to the woman who had helped shut down G.U.N.
“Would you like to come inside?” she asked politely. “I promise, there’s nothing inside but some Secret Service...and hopefully cake, if I requested it early enough.” she added with a warmer smile.
“What are we here for?” the robot asked bluntly, unprepared to trust as easily as the two Mobians were.
“Right!” she said, taking his question in stride. “I’m working on a new set of rules with the congressional branch that deal with some of the problems within G.U.N. so that they don’t crop up in the future, as well as trying to figure out what to do with them in general- so I wanted your opinion on both of those subjects! As long as that’s alright with you?”
Shadow spoke up in Sonic’s ear. “Rouge is interested and so am I.”
“Totally!” Sonic chirped, following her inside. Omega agreed with Rouge and Shadow (somewhat reluctantly), having tapped into the hero’s communications as they were landing.
Halfway up the stairs to the president’s office, the first lady came rushing in the opposite direction, apologizing all the while for getting in their way. “Hi, Sonic! Hi Tails! Hello, Omega! So nice to see you! Sorry, the cat’s gotten loose again…” she sighed, sagging against the railing briefly.
“We really need to get him a tracking collar, don’t we?” The president shook her head, her soft Afro bouncing as she pinched the bridge of her nose briefly. “Good luck finding him, anyway.”
“Have fun in your meeting!” the first lady chirped, winking overdramatically at her wife for emphasis before rushing off in search of their cat.
Tails grinned up at the president. “I know how you feel...sometimes I want to get a tracker chip for Sonic when he stays out too long on a run.”
“Hey!” the hero protested, but nobody seemed to be terribly worried about his pride. He could hear Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge laughing in his ear, too, and he pouted, wishing more than anything that he could offer a snappy comeback- but he couldn’t give away the fact that he had an earpiece in.
The president invited them into her office and began to lay out her plans for how to improve the country. The legislative body was working with her on some sort of complete shutdown and restructuring of G.U.N.- it seemed like there were going to be new leaders, new hiring processes, review systems, a different set of priorities…and that was just the start.
It was a lot, but Sonic was glad that she’d at least given them the opportunity to hear about these plans. Shadow and Rouge got to provide their input as well, which was great, but only through Omega, not Sonic. They would’ve trusted the president with that information, for sure, but the two members of the Secret Service behind her desk?
No way.
Especially not when Rouge recognized one of them from G.U.N.’s special training programs. They might not be close enough with the organization for it to really mean anything, but the group definitely didn’t want to take chances.
Partway through the meeting (not long after the cake arrived), the main phone on the president’s desk rang, startling everyone out of their conversation. She picked it up with a calm “Hello?”, but her eyes quickly widened as the person on the other end began to speak.
“Thank you.” she said quickly, before putting the phone down. Her eyes met Sonic’s, and he felt his stomach drop. The hero suddenly wished he hadn’t eaten just yet…
“Three representatives of G.U.N. are at the front gate.” the president said quietly.
The hero heard a gasp in his ear. He wasn’t sure who had done so, but the sound made his surprise morph quickly into defensiveness. “Omega. Tails. Do you guys want to meet with them?” he asked coolly, his face losing most of its expression.
“I would...like to do so.” the robot said.
Tails met Sonic’s gaze. “Yeah, same here.”
They moved to the main conference room, and the three heroes stood at one end of a long table, waiting for the members of G.U.N. to appear. It didn’t take long before they were buzzed in, and Sonic could feel himself shifting into a more confrontational stance, prepared to fight if necessary.
The commander was the first one to enter the room. His presence immediately raised everyone’s tension levels- at the very least, he seemed to be aware of it. He almost looked...a little embarrassed?
The silence on the other end of the communicator was near-deafening.
He was followed almost immediately by an agent that Sonic didn’t recognize, a wolf who seemed more than a little bit awkward and apologetic. She sat down to his left, sneaking glances at each of the three heroes in the room.
After that, a skinny, pale sort of guy entered the room, looking incredibly full of himself. Sonic wasn’t usually one to get bad first impressions of people, but this person irritated him almost immediately. Omega obviously recognized him- and not in a good way- as he began to make several loud clicking noises not unlike those of guns loading. On purpose, of course.
The commander sat down last (still seeming less than comfortable), cleared his throat, and looked up at the other three. “Before I speak, is there anything you would like to say?”
Sonic, Tails and Omega regarded him in stony silence.
He shuffled some of the papers in front of him and sighed quietly. “I would like to begin by apologizing for the distress I and the organization I serve have caused to you and your friends. All of you. I wish...no, I should have handled this in a different manner- requested a meeting, spoken with you first, done something to ensure that my intentions did not appear malicious. But instead…
“...instead I have distanced myself from three of the most skilled people ever to serve under my command, as well as further tarnished G.U.N.’s already ruined reputation. I…” The commander sighed here. This speech was already taking a lot out of him, Sonic could tell.
“I fear that my father’s views have heavily influenced my own, to say the absolute least, especially regarding my job and what needed to be done to serve this organization. ‘Shoot first and ask questions later’ was a favorite motto of his, and one that I accepted for a long, long time...my family has discussed with me lately (and quite gently, perhaps more so than I deserve) about how that ideology is problematic, to say the least.
“I liked to think I was not a bad person. That I was being more open-minded. But now I see that I was foolish to believe as much. I chose to try and salvage G.U.N., to cover up the mistakes as others have done before me because it was ‘for the good of the country’, because ‘other people wouldn’t understand what needs to be done’, and more. My guilty conscience wishes I would blame my father for my mistakes, but at some point, one must take responsibility for one’s own failures.
“Particularly…” and here he looked directly at the three of them, though he almost seemed to be searching for someone else instead, “...having alienated the last person on this planet who truly can comprehend the life I have led.”
Sonic realized with a start that he was talking about Shadow.
“All I can say now is that as of tomorrow, I am resigning as commander of G.U.N. I clearly have not succeeded in improving this organization at all, so I believe a new, younger face...someone without prior biases or contacts...would be better for us now.”
The hero heard gasps in both his ears- one from Rouge and Shadow, the other from the wiry man in front of him. Said human immediately started stammering at the commander, asking him why in the world he thought this was a good idea. The older man in turn merely waved him off with a stern word or two, forcing the other human to sink back into his seat with an obviously displeased expression.
The lavender wolf, the president, Omega, and Tails, on the other hand, all seemed to approve of the commander’s decision, as did Sonic. The hero felt nothing but relief now, hoping that finally, the big things could start to change for the better.
They spoke a little longer, the tensions mostly eased now (with the exception of the skinny guy, of course, who Rouge irritably identified as the less-than-respectful PR officer that the team had spoken to way back in the beginning). The conversation wasn’t very important, just polite nonsense about how change should be made soon and all that.
Things weren’t comfortable by any means, and they shouldn’t have been, but...Sonic felt a little lighter at the thought that someone important in G.U.N. at least accepted what was going on.
As the three heroes left, the commander asked them for one favor. “Could you please tell Shadow and Rouge that I apologize for the way G.U.N. has behaved? The way in which I have commanded this organization is wrong...I can see that now.”
Sonic offered him a quick flash of a grin, realizing that the commander truly didn’t know about his earpiece, nor Omega’s connection. “Hey, being able to apologize says a lot, too. I’ll be sure to let them know, don’t worry.”
“Thank you, and safe travels.”
“You too, alright?” he replied politely, before hopping onto the Tornado with a wave.
The flight back seemed to take forever (really, this time), partly because Sonic was dying to get back and partly because his friends seemed too busy talking seriously to chat. He tried his best to bask in the feeling of hope, but it was difficult to focus when his excitement was rising with each passing second.
As soon as they landed, he jumped off and ran over to his friends. “It’s gonna be alright now, guys!” he said, grinning at them. “You’re gonna go home soon!”
Rouge gave him a big smile back, before rushing over to Omega to celebrate. “Did you hear that, Omega? We’ll be home in a couple of weeks, max! Shadow-”
She trailed off, watching him carefully. The hybrid was staring down at the ground, his hands trembling slightly. “It’s...done? Then what now? What should we do?” he asked, trying to keep his voice calm and failing miserably. Sonic’s ears drooped a little as he heard the shake in his friend’s voice.
“Now you get to rest. You’ve earned it, you know that? I know it’s tough to just...go back and chill after everything, but you gotta know when to let other people carry on the work ya started, alright?” Sonic said carefully, stepping closer and closer to Shadow. His hands hovered slightly over his friend’s arms, unwilling to touch the hybrid unless he was alright with it first.
Suddenly, Shadow leaned into Sonic’s chest, his eyes shut tightly, clearly fighting back some sort of emotion. The hero held his friend tightly, sinking to his knees in an attempt to comfort Shadow better. Rouge and Omega rushed over, holding him tight as well. “Hey…” the bat said gently, “Shadow, we’re all going to be okay, I promise. We can stop now.”
“How do we know? What if something happens and it all goes wrong-”
Sonic stopped him right there. “We can set up whatever you need to feel comfortable, but trust me, we’ll all make sure nothing goes wrong. I’ll hold the president to her word, and so will everyone else here.”
“But...nobody’s ever really been able to stop G.U.N. before...not even me.” Shadow said quietly.
“There are more people on your side now, Shadow.” Omega replied, looking down at him. “You are not alone in this fight- so many others want this too.”
“I’ll have to wait and see before I can believe that.” he muttered, sighing.
Tails and Knuckles walked over too, the former offering him a hopeful smile and the latter clapping a hand on his shoulder. “You guys can stay here a while longer, I guess, until everything’s sorted out.” the echidna said, trying his best to help.
“Yeah!” Sonic cheered. “We’ll make sure this all gets fixed up properly, alright?”
Shadow smiled faintly at him. “I’ll hold you to that, Sonic.”
The hero couldn’t help but grin back, all his hope for his friend bursting through. And when Shadow’s smile grew just that little bit more real, he was determined to do absolutely whatever it took to make the hybrid smile properly again and again, without any fear holding him back.
He knew, without a doubt, that Shadow was more than deserving of all the happiness in the world.

In addition to celebrating my 5th milestone, I would like to thank these people, which are my lovely friends, fanfic writers and non writers alike, those who are in bold write nsfw/mild nsfw :
To start off, I want to thank these three servers/groups as wholes:
1. Jay and Co.:
@oikawasass -- Jay my spicy cinnamon roll! You are very cool person, periodt. Tbh, I was a little intimidated by you when I first spoke to you in your server. But overtime as I spoke to you more, I can see that you're actually a very lovely and sweet person in your own way. Also, I love how you can be super blunt and say the most hilarious things with a serious tone. You’re self-assured, bold and not afraid to speak your mind, and that is what I admire about you. And thank you, for being there and talking sense into me when I needed it, I appreciate that very much 🥺
And boy oh boy, your writing? *Chef's kiss* the first time when I read one of your works, I fell in love with how easy on the eyes it is. Your writing style is simple yet beautiful. Your choice of words, the imagery and the cohesiveness too! It’s godtier💞, must stan it. I especially love your crack fics/hcs and you whole aesthetic as well. Ma'am, pls spare some of your skills.
@archn my dear cupcake! Honestly, you're the sweetest person I've ever met and you're so so supportive and patient 🥺, plus I love how crackhead you can get when we’re fooling around lmao. Other than that, you’re really easygoing, not only towards me, but to everyone in general. You’re like that cool cousin that everyone looks up to and deserves all the appreciation in the world.
Also, your writing style is gorgeous and you write the characters' personality so spot on! I also love the flow of words sm ahhhj. I especially love your  headcanons of the bnha boyos working out with their fem s/o, that idea is really creative!
@mizukuni -- Mizuuu, my beautiful, gorgeous sweet red date! Babe, you have come so far from starting off as a new writing blog not long ago to finally achieving 1k followers! I just wanna say congrats for reaching your 10th milestone and you deserve every one of your followers! You can definitely go further and achieve more milestones. As for your writing style, it is simplistic but beautiful: you don’t use many flowery words to express your writing,  yet those simple words you choose bring out what you want to show in your works exactly, and the flow of words is just rly smooth and I stan the cohesiveness 💞. Oh and you have such a cute minimalistic art style that is very pleasant on the eyes! And lately I can see that you’re improving at a quick pace; your drawings are getting more detailed than last time and that’s really amazing! Also, did I mention that I love your blog’s aesthetic as well?
Also, thank you for being there for me when I was feeling down and needed someone to talk to, I cherish that gesture of yours greatly luv 💞As for my first impression of you, I could tell you’re a really chill person and go with the flow easily. Honestly, that helped a lot to buffer my social awkwardness and made me open up to y’all easier. So yeah, I must say a very big thank you once again to you babe 💞
@cherry-pancakes  -- Diiii my sweet cherry blossom! You are the cutest person I’ve ever met sjdnjsn. Your antics remind me of a sweet little sister and that is pretty darn adorable. Even though you can be a little bit wild and spontaneous sometimes, that just adds to your charm! Plus, a little wild every once in a while does’t do harm < 3
As for your writing, it has a simple flow but it is easily understood. If writing styles were aesthetics/ sceneries, yours would be a small flowing stream-- small but smooth flowing, simple but not insignificant. Beauty in simplicity describes your works perfectly. Also, did I mention that you have a really adorable artstyle as well? Your art style is relatively simple but it is so so cute 🥺
@chizo --Guava my gummy bear! Babe, even though you are no longer active here, I just want to say a very big thank you. Thank you for giving us so many beautifully written works. Seriously, when I first met you through discord and followed your writing blog ( @izukyu ) I fell in love with your works. Something about your writing is just really special, plus I love the fact that you start sentences with small letters (Caps lock be damned lol). Your writing is a mixture of sophistication and simplicity, yet they compliment each other perfectly when you incorporate them into your works! It is pretty impressive because it is not an easy thing to do.
As for my first impression of you, I can tell you’re genuinely a vv caring and supportive person. You give off motherly vibes as well in a good way! You’re like the cool mom friend of the group who looks after everyone tbh 💝. So yeah, once again I want to say a very very big thank you to you again. Thank you for blessing the writers’ community with your wonderful fics and thank you for being such a good friend, let’s continue to be good friends in the near future!
@sourbkg  -- Emmie my blueberry! Babey you are another sweetheart who is caring and so so supportive. I still remembered that time when I felt a little ill and sad and you immediately sent some cat pictures to cheer me up, thank you sm for that love, it helped me a great deal 💕, plus I’m never one to say no to cats and kitties! Also, you know exactly what to say at the right moments! Your easygoing personality makes it easy for other people to open up to you as well.
As for your writing style, it has a simple yet realistic approach. It’s like I can see what is happening in your works like a movie scene and I think that is really cool! Keep up the good work < 3! I really love that one shot with Shoto’s s/o attempting to scare him, it’s so cute ahh! And I love the ending lol, Shoto cracking a joke is golden.
@kozumie -- Kai! Oh man, where do I start. Okay, here we go. When I first met you in the server, I gravitated towards your easygoing, cool and chill vibe. After talking to you more, I can tell that I love the laid-back chill vibe you give off, you’re so awesome!
Also, even though I haven’t read much of your work, I must say I really love the way you write. It’s precise and your vocabulary really helps with imagery, the words you can help the readers easily envision what is going on in your story, and that is really amazing! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more works from you.
@succu6us-- Anni! Babe, ahh it has been a while since we last spoke too hasn’t it? I missed you along with the others too 🥺 But now that I’m back for the time being, I’m going to be more active. Anni babe, your writing style is minimalistic yet gorgeous. I can tell you’re not a big fan of writing long paragraphs and that’s completely fine! Because if I’m being honest here, I tend to keep things simple and short as well if I can. Yet your simplistic style captures the gist of your works perfectly! did I mention that I love your nsfw works as well
As for my first impression of you, I could tell that you had a very self-assured, confident aura about you, and you still do! But you are not arrogant at all. On the contrary, you’re a humble and supportive soul! I quite envy that self-assurance and air of confidence you have dear, and I can say that I have grown to be a bit more confident in myself by having you around, so you’re a wonderful influence! Let’s continue to keep in touch sweetie.
@mysterypotatoink -- Morgann! Sugarcakes, let me just say that you are the best big sister figure we could ever ask for! You are so sweet, supportive, loving and willing to help us whenever we need it. You are our server’s big sister and guardian 💕💕 You always make us feel loved and warm inside. Personally, whenever we talk to you, it gives off the vibe like a child wrapped up in a safety blanket-- toasty and secured.
You’re so strong and wise, I look up to you a lot and want to learn from you in terms of being the pillar of support. 🥺
@needs-serotonin -- Joanna! Muffin, you’re another one of the sweetest, most supportive people in the server. You’re so honest about what you say in the group and know when to say it at the exact time.
Also Joanna, you give off a really cool vibe! Initially, I was a bit shy and unsure on how to approach you but overtime as I warmed up to you, you’re actually pretty easy to get along with! I would love to get to know you better, let’s talk more dear.
2. Deku protection squad! (Aka dps) :
@suckersuki -- Lei! Sugarplum, you are another one of the sweetest, most supportive people I’ve ever met. You are always there for us when we need it and I love how crackhead you can get hahaha, I still remembered that time when we teased you by shipping you with shinsou hehe. Anyways, back to the original topic of appreciating you, you are a great listener and offer good advice! Also, you’re very easy to talk to and give off a cute vibe!
Did I mention that I love your writing as well? Your style consists of a mixture of comedy and seriousness. Like, your hcs for the tik tok trend and argument scenario for the bnha boys are really funny; on the other hand, your fic with yandere shoto gives off a completely different aura and it sent shivers down my spine. Miss, pls spare some of them writing skills.
@babydabi -- Mei! Gingerbread, you are a another kind, loving and supportive soul that I have the honor of meeting in the dps. You are really easygoing and considerate. You are not afraid to speak up for your friends, but you do it with a careful choice of words and this shows that you’re really considerate.
As for your writing style, it is much like yourself. You know how to choose the best words to express what you want to and you’re cautious doing so. As I can be a little indecisive on deciding my choice of words, I’d love to learn from you!
@bakugoustanaccount — Bri! Dear, tbh I was a little intimidated by your vibe when I first met you, bc you just seemed so cool,,, and I’m awkward and still don’t really know how to socialise well with people. But after interacting with you more, you’re actually pretty chill! Let’s talk more, I’d love to get to know you better.
As for your writing style, it has a certain smooth flowing, poetic aesthetic. I fell in love with it the moment I read your latest fic. The way you phrased everything is just so fitting! Pls teach me your ways miss.
@bnhatrashh -- Izzy! Luv, you give off a similar vibe like bri, so I was also kind of intimidated by you at first. But like bri, I opened up to you more and here we are! Let’s get to know each other better, I’d like to talk to you more often.

@hoekaashi — Ash! Dear, you give off a cool and mature vibe. You’re like the awesome aunt of the dps. When I first spoke to you in the dps, I was like “this person is really cool, I’m kinda scared if I mess up”, but that thought quickly faded as I chatted with you more. You’re not only cool, but also super chill, supportive and easygoing! Let’s talk more, I’d love to know you better.
Also, I really love your way of writing! It has this realistic touch and lets people have the feeling of being in that scenario/situation. Plus, the flow of words are smooth and complements your style! Keep up the good work dear, I look forward to see more works from you in the future.
@xoxo-dede — Dede! Darling, you’re bold, outspoken and really cool. Ok I’ll stop) , you’re a big bouncy ball of energy that we simply can’t get enough of! Oh, and your art style is really cool too!

AN:  Thank you for joining me on the first one-shot of “The INKED Collection”! More one-shots to come, but they’ll be on the fluffier side 😅 This will be a side project, so new updates will not be scheduled~!
Complementary
Everyone had a perfect match. A complementary pair. At birth, a mark appears on your skin to designate what clan you belonged to. Where your soulmate would find you. Owls flocked to Fukurodani, weasels escaped to Itachiyama, and eagles soared in Shiratorizawa. Your tattoos were placed in the same spot as your soul-mate, designs mirror reflections of it. If one person had a black design, the other would have a similar design in white. Your head snapped up as someone entered your room, weapon in hand as you prepared for the worst.
“(L.Name), you’ve been reassigned.” (E/c) eyes widened.
“Reassigned?” Your grip relaxed, tucking your weapon away.
Kenma cleared his throat, shifting uncomfortably. “Lord Kuroo has asked that you serve as his personal guard.” He pulled out a scroll, handing it to you. “As you’re aware, there’s been an increase in movements by the Itachiyama and Shiratorizawa clans. More threats have come in.”
“But I’m meant to-”
“You’re meant,” golden eyes flashed dangerously, “to do whatever your Lord commands.”
You bristled, jaw clenching. Letting out a sharp breath, you hissed, “as you say, my Lord.”
“Very well. Lord Kuroo should be in his chambers still.”
With a stiff bow, you trudged down the hall to find Kuroo. Your hand settled on the handle of the bamboo sword that hung on your hip, grasping it loosely. As a woman trained in some of the deadliest forms of combat, you weren’t meant to be a simple bodyguard. No, for all these years you’ve used your skills for espionage. After all, when there are warring clans and a sharp decline in kunoichi, or female ninjas, there was less suspicion and focus on you whenever you were in the field. You scoffed, knuckles turning white. The paper crumpled in your shaking fists before you shoved it into the inner pocket of your kimono. You’d find Kuroo later. Right now, you needed to take care of your rage before you treaded into dangerous waters. Whipping around, you made your way towards the training grounds.
Storming in, you were thankful to find it empty for once. Usually there would be a few people already, but considering that it was still early in the day, the room was deserted. Making your way to a corner with wooden posts, you shrugged off your kimono leaving only the inner layer. Before, you used to keep the kimono on in an effort to hide your soulmate mark. However, since getting your tattoo, you felt more confident in revealing your skin.
“This is a beautiful mark,” Kai, a Nekoma samurai who dabbled as the Clan’s resident tattoo artist, commented, fingers outlining your shoulder blade. He admired the white cat stretched in a moon outline that laid directly on your left shoulder blade. You hummed in response. “Are you sure?” Kai glanced between the mark and his design. He would be placing a tattoo of a red and orange phoenix surrounded by peonies directly over the mark.
“I’ve thought about this for years now, Kai-san. Please, if you will.”
“Very well, (L.Name)-san.” Kai shuffled, preparing the nara ink and double-checking the tebori tattoo tool. “Please relax, and I will begin.”
“Thank you.” You took in a deep breath to relax your muscles. Each push of the tool sent pain coursing through your veins. The first few movements had your jaws clenching, but you forced yourself to breathe through it. You’ve been through worse pains before.
Removing the bamboo sword, you let it drop to the side. You tied the extra fabric to your waist, letting it hang as you flexed your fingers, sharp metal blades clinked as finger-tips tapped together. The silver gloves glistened in the morning light, weak yellow beams bouncing off as you surveyed them. These were your pride and joy. Neko-te, or cat’s paws, were a kuniochi’s favorite weapon. It was a prerequisite to train with them when becoming a Nekoma ninja. But, you enjoyed the simple irony of it and found it fitting to use as your primary weapon of choice. Though it was often best used in covert affairs, being able to use these in larger settings could work so long as the sharp claws were dipped in poison and provided that you were agile enough.
You crouched down, closing your eyes. Wooden posts disappeared in your mind’s eyes, being replaced by three armed enemies. The world went silent, even the faint birdsong disappeared as the pounding of your blood filled your ears. You took a steadying breath through your nose, out your mouth. (E/c) eyes snapped open, launching yourself at the posts. Your dominant hand flew forward, imagining that you were swiping at someone’s neck. Ducking, you heard the swish of a wooden sword, or shinai, cutting through air before you twirled around, jutting your leg out to knock the assailant to the ground. Your hands braced itself on their chest, leaving gashes on the flesh as you sprung over the body. Landing lightly on your feet, you whirled around, another enemy was racing towards you while brandishing a knife. A rapid side-step before you were grabbing onto their arms, carefully guiding them away from your body. Claws sliced through their clothes as your grip tightened, slamming them into the ground and twisting their arm back so that they dropped their weapon. Kicking it away, you smashed their head into the ground, incapacitating them. You froze in your kneeling position before you straightened up, surveying your surroundings.
Deep gouges were left in the dirt where you’d somersaulted over the imaginary foe, dust clouds just now settling. Loud noises snapped you out of your reverie, causing you to glance behind you. The sun had risen over your head, signaling that training would begin soon. Men were huddled in groups, idly chatting while they waited for their instructor. A few had already begun sparring. You rolled your shoulders, turning back to the posts. You proceeded to dream up more scenarios, incorporating strategies that featured your neko-te.
A voice disrupted your concentration in the middle of one such exercise. “(L.Name), please come here.” Your arm froze mid-swing as the metallic claws clinked together. Your head snapped up to look behind you, casting your gaze to him.
“How’d you know I was here?” You grumbled, walking towards him.
“Yaku told me.” Hazel eyes glinted mischievously. It was rare for Kuroo himself to join in the training. Kuroo turned back to the group, letting his kusarigama pool at the corner of the space before picking up a shinai. In battle, Kuroo often preferred using the kusarigama due to its versatility. Being able to swing the weighted chain allowed him to defend and attack from a distance, and being able to switch to the blade end when it came to close contact made it the most optimal. According to him, anyways. He faced his audience once more. “Before we start today’s training, I will spar with (L.Name).”
“Her?” Someone scoffed. (E/c) eyes narrowed as you found the offending party. A grey-haired male towered over everyone. “What does a woman know about kenjutsu?” Your jaw clenched as your eyes flashed dangerously. It wasn’t that it was a bad question. After all, kenjutsu was still a traditionally male technique. Women learning it was practically unheard of. You just hated when people underestimate your ability.
“Excellent question, Lev. Why doesn’t she demonstrate?” Kuroo smiled pleasantly, rolling his shoulders back.
Slipping off your neko-tes, you kicked up a matching shinai, catching it in your hands. You tossed it into the air slightly, twirling it. “Don’t hold back on me now, my Lord.” You stepped back, adjusting your grip on your shinai before you bowed mockingly.
“Now, (L.Name), when have I ever?” Kuroo smirked, turning towards you. You rolled your shoulder. “Ready?”
You crouched, preparing your weapon. “When am I not, my Lord?”
With a cry, Kuroo brandished his weapon and stalked towards you. Both hands grasped the shinai as you parried the blow to the side, stepping to the opposite side as you attempted to elbow Kuroo’s head. Kuroo ducked, side-stepping as he swung his shinai towards your feet. You hopped up, pulling your shinai close to you as you rolled forward and away. Off-balanced slightly, Kuroo stumbled allowing you to steady yourself and straighten up. “Don’t embarrass yourself now, my Lord,” you tease. Kuroo growled, his carefree look ebbing away as hazel pools darkened. Circling each other like predators, you kept yourself close to the ground as Kuroo held himself up proudly. In this game of cat and mouse, you were determined to be the cat.
With a smirk, you slapped the shinai against the ground, sending a cloud of dust into Kuroo’s face. He let out a startled grunt raising an arm to cover his eyes, his grip on his weapon slackened. You darted forward, slicing upwards and knocking the shinai out of his grip. You grabbed his arm, using his own weight to throw him onto the ground. Kuroo’s body crashed awkwardly, his head flying back. As the dust settled, he found your shinai against his neck, your foot on his back. “That’s not fair,” he grunted.
“Do you yield?” More pressure was added to his back. Kuroo rolled his eyes, nodding. Stepping off of him, he turned over to see an offered hand. You pulled him to his feet, letting your hand drop as soon as he was up. He brushed the dirt off of his robes, turning back to his men.
“Wasn’t that cheating?” The same male protested, his arms crossed.
“(L.Name) is a well-trained kunoichi,” Kuroo explained, “using unorthodox methods,” he shot you a look, humour sparking in his eyes, “is well within her repertoire and is something I should have expected.” Kuroo cleared his throat. “You may not know the background of the enemies you face. That is why you should come to expect anything and everything in battle and have a strategy to combat it.”
Yaku stepped forward, standing on the other side of Kuroo. “Alright men, I will pair you up and we will have sparring matches.” As Yaku shouted his orders, Kuroo stepped closer to you.
“If you wanted to be on top, you should have said something sooner.”
You snorted. “That’s hardly appropriate, my Lord.”
Kuroo chuckled, a hand gripping your shoulder. “Join me for lunch after this.”
“As you wish.” You dipped your head to him before heading back to your corner.
A few hours later, you entered Kuroo’s chambers. Kuroo looked up from the table. Food was laid out, but his focus was on the scroll that he was holding up. “There you are, I was just wondering if I should send someone to find you.”
You bowed. “My apologies, my Lord. I was busy.”
“Yes, busy training.” He gestured to the seat in front of him. “Please, take a seat.” You kneeled in the spot in front of him, letting your naginata rest across your lap. He cleared his throat, setting the scroll down besides him. “As I’m sure you’re aware, I have requested you to become my bodyguard.” As you opened your mouth to protest, he held a hand up. “Both Kenma and I are worried. The rising state of tension throughout the country leaves us in a vulnerable position, especially if these reports are true.” His hazel eyes scanned your face. “I do not trust anyone else to protect me, but you, (L.Name).”
You frowned. “If you say it like that, of course I’ll do it, Lord Kuroo.”
His face relaxed. “Excellent.” He gestured to the food. “Please, help yourself.” After a moment’s hesitation, you picked up a pair of chopsticks, eating some of the food. Kuroo waited for you to take a few bites before also joining in. With your face downturned, you hid your eye-roll. Of course. First matter of business, poison-tester. You snorted. “Is something funny?” Kuroo cocked his head at you.
“I better not be your only poison-tester,” you swallowed, looking up at him, “otherwise you’ll be in some trouble if you encounter actual assassins.”
He laughed. “Don’t worry, I don’t intend on using you like that.”
****
The chilling grates of metal plates grinding against each other filled the air as you shuffled into the dining hall, blood speckled across your cheek. Making his way towards the front of the room, Kuroo took his seat. You kneeled beside him, running a blood-stained rag over the neko-te. On his other side, Kenma sat in a pool of regal red silks. Kenma had remained behind, serving as the strategist behind Nekoma. All around you were bustling bodies, roaring with laughter as the smell of alcohol and blood tainted the stale air. Shiratorizawa’s forces had been pressing on your borders, and so you and Kuroo had led a raid against them, successfully driving them away. This time at least.
The clang of metal cut the cool night air. The fire of adrenaline ablazed as you cut down body after body. With each body that fell, another surged forward to take its place. Kenma had hoped that the cover of night would help the raid with the element of surprise on-hand. But the Shiratorizawa Clan was more than prepared for such tricks as expected of one of the most powerful clans in the country. Their forces were armed and vicious in their retaliation. You ducked, an arrow flying over your head and burying itself into the enemy you faced. A body fell behind you, causing you to whirl around. Blood dripped down the kusarigama blade that Kuroo wielded, having used it to kill an enemy that had crept upon you. “Duck!” You shout, plucking a spear off of the ground and brandishing it over your head. Kuroo obeyed without a moment’s hesitation, letting the weapon soar over his head to bury itself into the enemy that was behind him.
Back to back, you and Kuroo left a circle of bodies. You would dart forward and engage in hand-to-hand combat while Kuroo whipped his chain around, driving back forces and cutting them down when men got too brave. Claws glistened with blood as you swiped at a man’s hands, forcing him to drop his sword. “I should have made you my bodyguard sooner,” Kuroo hollered over the roar of the battle.
“Of course you would need someone to protect your back, my Lord,” you retorted, cutting down another approaching enemy.
“Only when it’s you.”
The crimson glow slowly disappeared as you worked the rag harder, the acidic sting of vinegar beginning to overwhelm even your own heightened sense of smell. “Must you do that at the table?” Kenma’s face flashed with disgust as he leaned around Kuroo, glaring down at your hand.
“You know as well as I do that this is a part of my routine, Lord Kenma.” Your dry response caused Kenma to shift his glare to you. He bit his tongue, straightening himself up and averting his eyes.
“It’s improper.”
You only hummed, closely examining your claws. It’s not like you had never done it at the table before. As kids, this was the first thing that you would do after training or any battle. To drive away the ghosts and demons that followed after a life was taken by bloodstained hands. To forget about the bruises, aches, and calluses you were accumulating. As an adult, you continued this habit, finding solace in the practiced movements. After battles, you would typically seek a seat amongst the retainers closer towards the door, if not outside the hall entirely. You were reserved; being in the center of attention was the last thing you wanted in general, let alone after a battle. Satisfied by how clean they were, you slipped them off and tucked them carefully into your kimono. “Perhaps you should focus more on the celebration than on my behaviour, my Lord.” Kenma clicked his tongue at you, and instead of replying, decided to pour himself a cup of sake.
“To a successful raid,” Kenma muttered, tapping his cup to Kuroo’s. Kuroo threw his head back, swallowing it.
“To many more,” you agreed, cup untouched.
Kuroo stood, another glass shoved into his hands by an eager retainer. “To Nekoma! May more success and honor flow through the blood of this clan.” The room filled with even more roars as more people glowed like cherries. A slight frown tugged at your lips. This would be the perfect time for an ambush or retaliation, you mused. Hardly any of them can stand on their own. Kuroo downed his cup before placing it down onto the table. His black and red armor rustled as he made his way to the entrance. The golden cat on his chest glowed on the backdrop of black under the flickering fire-light. You stood up, gliding towards him. He stepped outside, the cool night air relieving after being in the stuffy room. “You do not have to follow me, (L.Name).”
“As your bodyguard, I believe that’s my duty, my Lord.”
He let out a soft chuckle. “When will you drop the ‘my Lord’ business?”
You shrugged, stepping to stand besides him as he leaned over the red fencing, eyes roaming the empty garden. You leaned your back against it, arms folded as you gazed back into the room. “You know as well as I do that doing so would be improper.” You snickered, quoting his best friend. Kuroo’s chest shook with stifled laughter. Clearing your throat, “shouldn’t you be in there,” you dipped your head towards the room, “celebrating with your men?”
He shrugs, straightening up. Kuroo offered a hand towards you. After a moments’ hesitation, you draped your fingers over his, letting his hand caress yours. A soft warmth crept through your body at the touch. With tender movements, he pulled you towards the garden.
Stepping under the glow of the moonlight, he escorted you to the wooden benches alongside the koi pond. He relinquished his grip on your hand, brushing his robes aside as he sat down. Kuroo looked up at you expectantly, patting the spot besides him. You reluctantly took a seat, worried about how this may look to others. “Do you ever wonder what your soulmate is doing?” Kuroo cast his gaze on to the pond, face blank.
You swallowed, watching as the two koi fish circled one another. The shimmering reflection of the half-moon hovered on top of them. The white fish gave the illusion of a full moon whereas its black counterpart created the all-too familiar yin and yang. Pale pink blossoms floated along the surface. “Sometimes.” Your fingers played with one another, right foot bouncing. “Sometimes I wonder what it’d be like to meet them, but I fear that I would not be able to restrain myself from the pull.” Your tongue felt heavy in your mouth. ‘I’ve only felt the pull to one person.’
“Mama, why am I doing this?” You stomped your foot, crossing your arms. Chubby fists of a six-year old clenched. Your mother knelt beside you, patting your head. Her robe raised, revealing a flying owl.
“Do you remember your soul mark?”
You frowned. “The kitty-cat?”
“Yes, honey.” Your mother pulled you into a hug, patting your back. “Nekoma is the cat Clan. You and your soulmate belong to Nekoma.” She released you, standing up and towering over you. “That’s why we trained you in the neko-te.” You pulled your hands free, unclenching them as you stared at your fingers, imagining the metal gloves that you had been using.
“But I wanna stay here with you and Papa,” you whined, jutting your lip out.
“(Name).” You jumped, blood chilling at the voice. “Stop your whining.” You turned, gazing up at your father. His arms were crossed, biceps flexed to show the owl, wings outstretched to wrap around his entire bicep. “You are a (L.Name). You will make your family proud and serve your Clan well.”
“Yes Father.” Your head hung as he patted your head.
“Now, go get changed. Lord Kuroo will be here soon to pick you up.”
“I’m leaving now?” Your head snapped up, eyes flicking frantically between your parents. Your mother had a frown on her face. “I thought I was supposed to finish my training first?”
“Lord Kuroo has arranged for you to complete your training on the castle grounds. Now get changed, I won’t ask again.” You bowed, tears welling up in your eyes as you hurried out of the room.
“Is this really for the best?” Your mother’s faint words were the last thing you heard before the door slid shut.
Returning after changing into the red kimono that your mother had laid out, you froze. Your feet moved on your own as you approached the boy that hid behind the wooden column. “What are you doing here?”
The boy jumped, whipping around to face you. “My father is here to pick someone up.”
Your eyes widened as you bowed steeply. “My apologies, Lord Kuroo.”
Kuroo’s eyes widened to match yours, waving his hands aggressively. “You don’t have to bow like that!” His cheeks glowed. “My father is Lord Kuroo. You can just call me Kuroo.” As you straightened up, a booming voice sent shivers down your back.
“Kuroo! Come here, we’re leaving once she arrives.”
“C’mon,” Kuroo offered a hand to you. Your cheeks matched your kimono as you took it, surprised at the electricity that shot up your finger-tips and through your body at the contact. A frown crept onto his face as you both looked down at your joined hands. Another shout had you both sprinting towards Lord Kuroo.
“My Lord, this is my daughter, (Name).”
You let go of Kuroo’s hands, bowing. “I will be in your care, my Lord.” Lord Kuroo surveyed you, giving a final nod.
“Let’s go.” He spun on his heels, leading you and his son to two horses. Lord Kuroo climbed onto a massive black stallion
“Here, I’ll help you.” Kuroo hoisted you by the waist, placing you onto the chestnut mare. He gave you a wide toothy grin, one of his bottom teeth missing. “I hope that we can be friends.” You nodded shyly, brushing your hair behind your ear. Kuroo climbed onto the horse behind you, snaking his arms around to take the reins. His father clicked his tongue, digging his heel into the horse’s side as he took off down the road. You tried to ignore the electric sparks that filled your body as Kuroo’s warm chest met your back.
‘Leaving Fukurodani and Mama and Papa won’t be too bad as long as I have a friend like Kuroo Tetsurou by my side,’ you thought as your family home disappeared in the distance.
Kuroo hummed. You both remained silent for a moment longer. The faint babble of the waterfall occupied the silence. Your attention drifted to the stoic male. Focusing on his deep breaths, you allowed your muscles to relax. Soreness from the battle crept in; your eyelids began to droop as a sense of calm caressed your body. “You should rest.” Kuroo glanced down at you, breaking the peaceful spell.
“Only after you do, my Lord.”
“Then we shall both go to bed now,” he murmured, standing up and offering his hand once more. You escorted him to his room, bading him good night as he stepped inside. The door slid shut, and his night guard stepped in front of it.
“Take care of him, Yamamoto.”
“I will. Good night, (L.Name)-san.”
****
Tensions were high, thick enough that even a butcher’s cleaver would not be able to slice through it. Your eyes shifted from one grim face to another when the door to the war-room suddenly slid open. You crouched quickly, hand falling on the weapon at your hip. “You started without me?”
You relaxed at the familiar sight. Kuroo stood, dipping his head slightly. “My apologies, Lord Bokuto. I was not aware that you would be arriving so soon.”
Bokuto stepped in, his mere presence filling the room. You made eye-contact with the male who stepped beside him, nodding at him. Gunmetal blue eyes twinkled as he returned your nod. “We left as soon as we received your message. You know this affects Fukurodani as much as it affects Nekoma.” The duo walked towards you. Bokuto slid into the seat beside Kuroo, Akaashi stood behind him. You took a step back, taking your place beside Akaashi.
Kuroo cleared his throat, sitting back down. “Recent reports state that Itachiyama and Shiratorizawa have started to collaborate. With Nekoma in between their territories, we will be at risk if this news is in fact true.” Kuroo gestured towards Bokuto, who sat impassively. “I have invited Fukurodani here to discuss our strategies of attack in the case that both Clans decide to attack.”
You zoned out, scanning the room once more. All around you were familiar faces. You had grown up in this clan. The country constantly teetered on the precipice of war, and you were more than aware of the outcomes. Each battle, from a small border skirmish to a full-scale invasion, ended the same. Some of these faces would disappear for good. Wives would lose husbands, children would lose their fathers. Families torn apart for what, power? Greed? What you would give for a peaceful world. A world where you could be in the arms of your soulmate as you both attended a hanami. Or at least a world where you can have mundane things and experience any other form of domesticity. Kuroo cleared his throat, snapping you out of your trance. “The meeting is over, (L.Name).”
“So it is.” You straightened up, making a move towards the door.
“Wait a moment.” Kuroo grabbed your hand. You looked over to him.
“Yes, my Lord?” He pulled a hand out of his kimono, presenting you with a white chrysanthemum kanzashi. You stared at the hairpiece, carefully looking at the white blossom that sat on a bed of bright green leaves. “What is this for?”
He cleared his throat, turning his face forward as he surveyed his clan-mates filing out of the war room. “Your hair is getting longer. As war approaches, this will ensure that your hair does not obstruct your vision.” A rosy tint dusted your cheeks. If you had spared the warlord a glance, you would notice a similar one creeping up his.
“I see.” You carefully picked it up, turning it over in your hands. “Thank you, my Lord.” You made a move to put it in your hair, only for Kuroo to do it for you. The pink roses bloomed scarlet at the contact. You cleared your throat, stepping away and nodding at him. Akaashi appeared at your side, having finished a whispered conversation with Bokuto. “Ah, Akaashi-san.” You grinned at the male, thankful for a distraction from the heat that swept through your body.
“(L.Name)-san.” He dipped his head to you. “I had a question about your kenjutsu technique.”
You stepped away from the table, “how funny, I was just about to ask you for assistance on that as well.”
Akaashi’s eyes sparkled. “Is that so?”
“Yes. Shall we make our way to the training grounds?”
Akaashi bowed slightly. “I’ll be in your care.”
You turned to Kuroo. “If you’ll excuse me, my Lord.” You bowed to Bokuto. “I will be borrowing Akaashi-san, Lord Bokuto.”
“Be sure to return him in one piece,” Bokuto warned, grinning at you. Akaashi bowed to both lords before you both made your way out of the room. The males stayed silently in the room for a few moments longer.
“Is that her?” Golden orbs surveyed his taller companion.
Kuroo glanced at his counterpart. “How did you know?”
“You look at her the same way Akaashi looks at me when he thinks I’m not looking.”
****
“The heavens seem disturbed today,” you comment, casting your eyes up. Dense clouds muddled the starry skies as the full moon twinkled.
Kuroo glanced up, pulling his coat closer. “Let’s hurry home.” You and Kuroo had been in town, visiting one of the Clan’s establishments. Fukunaga had been sent out on an infiltration mission to Shiratorizawa and had returned there to present you both with a report.
“You know what they say, clouded skies with a full moon bear ill omens.” Your hand fell onto the naginata that was strapped to your side, gripping it tighter. Loud crashing noises distracted you as bodies trudged out of the alleys.
“I believe you’ve cursed us,” Kuroo teased, the clink of metals and weapons filling the air.
“I do believe you’re right, my Lord.” In one fluid motion, you pulled the naginata over your head, steadying it in your grip. “We do not want any trouble,” you called down the alley. A faint hope in your heart prayed that they were simply drunkards who awoke due to your conversation with Kuroo, but you knew you couldn’t be that lucky.
“Well, we do.” You leapt out of the way as a knife went whistling past you, burying itself into a wooden post.
“Ambushing us? How unchivalrous.” You slipped your hands out of your sleeves, flexing your fingers. Silver claws glowed under the pool of moonlight that enveloped you. With a violent roar, pandemonium broke out. You ducked as one of the males swung at you with a tonfa. Wood met wood as you swung your arms, disarming him. Smashing the naginata into his gut, you twirled to parry the next weapon. With a flourish, you spun yourself away from the incoming enemy. The neko-te glinted menacingly as you sliced, staining them red as the male staggered back, frantically clawing at his neck. Crimson poured down from the marks you left. The skin bubbled as the fast-acting poison infiltrated his system. Besides you, Kuroo was preoccupied fending off his own attackers. Your eyes widened. “Get out of the way!” You shout, shoving Kuroo aside as a metallic glint caught your eye. A body collided with you as you grunted in shock. You stumbled back, looking down. Red blossomed over your white kimono, a knife buried in your chest. The naginata slipped out of your grasp as you collapsed onto your knees.
Kuroo’s vision went black, grabbing the male by the wrist and yanking the enemy towards himself. Kuroo head-butted him before throwing him over his shoulder into the wall. He rushed to your side, collapsing onto the ground besides you. He turned your body slightly, dismay coursing through his veins as icy claws gripped his heart. He cursed himself for not insisting on more guards. “We have to get help now!” Kuroo shouts, glancing around. Crumpled bodies littered the area. His hand reached for the knife.
“It’s too late now.” Fingers lightly curled around his wrist. “Kuroo, I can’t breathe.” Your voice cracked. As you attempted to swallow, a cough overtook you.
“I can’t lose you now.” His vision blurred as he furiously blinked. A clammy hand reached for yours.
“You’ll be fine.” Another hoarse cough. “Cats always land on their feet and so will you.”
“But I won’t have you by my side.” Tears streamed down his face, glassy eyes frantically searching yours.
“You’ll find another bodyguard,” you smiled. Crimson trickled down your chin. You weakly tried to wipe it away with the back of your hand.
“But I won’t find another soulmate.” Kuroo’s tears trickled onto your cheek, slowly gliding down to mix with your blood. He pulled his robe down, an almost familiar sight greeted you. A black cat curled on his left pectoral muscle, napping against the outline of the moon. The dam finally broke sending a tidal wave of emotions through you. Tears escaped you as shaky fingers delicately stroked the mark, a choked sob spoiled by the violent cough that tore through your body. Red streaks marred his otherwise clear skin. Kuroo’s hand tightened on your shoulder, fingers rubbing your covered mark.
Just as you were settling into the tattoo session, the shoji doors slid open. “(L.Name)?” You rolled your head to the side, eyes widening.
“Hello Lord Kuroo,” Kai greeted pleasantly, wiping away the residual ink that bubbled on your skin. He continued to poke away.
“Hello, my Lord.”
Kuroo crossed his arms, robes swishing with the movements. “What’s this?”
You pressed your chest closer onto the ground. The last thing that you wanted was to accidentally flash Kuroo. “I decided it was high-time to bear my mark.”
“I see.” Kuroo watched for a moment longer, a strange look crossing his face. “Are you covering up your soulmate mark?”
You shifted uncomfortably, only to have Kai smack your lower back. “Stop moving.”
“Sorry,” you muttered, pink creeping onto your cheeks. Clearing your throat, you gazed up at Kuroo. “Yes, I am.”
“Why?”
Kai pulled back slightly, dipping the tebori tool back into the ink. You offered him a half-shrug before shifting your head back and looking down at the ground. “This lifestyle is too dangerous for such things, my Lord.”
“I see.”
You lifted your head to show Kuroo a soft smile. “I wouldn’t want to find my soulmate and have to worry about putting them at risk. Or have them worry about my safety. I’m a proud ninja and a loyal servant of the Clan.”
Kuroo gave you a stiff nod. “Thank you, (L.Name).”
“Well I recall mentioning that this was a terrible line of work for soulmates.” Your eyes twinkled as you joked. Imperial red splattered as you spat onto the ground. Kuroo winced at the sight.
“Something like that.” A sad smile crossed his face.
“Is that why you assigned me as your bodyguard?” The words trickled out before you could stop yourself.
He gave you a jerky nod, his fingers encasing yours as he held it to his own mark. “I wanted to keep you close.” You could feel his heart drumming. A pang shot through your heart. If you closed your eyes, you could pretend that you were just laying against his chest, curled around one another under the black veil of night. Perhaps under different circumstances, in another life.
You stepped into Kuroo’s room, bowing. It was the eve before the Shiratorizawa raid. “Ah perfect. (L.Name), come help me.” He gestures to his armor. You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Don’t tell me that the magnificent Lord Kuroo needs help putting his own armor on.” Kuroo shrugged, sending you a cheeky smile.
“Even I need help sometimes, (L.Name). There’s no dishonor in asking for help when you need it.” You stepped beside him, sliding on the sode (shoulder pieces) over the kote (sleeves of various iron plates), lacing them together. As your fingers danced over the iron plates and leather straps, a soft medley filled your chest. “What is it that you’re humming?”
Kuroo had his arms extended, eyes shut as he let you work. You bent down, fingers trailing down the straps to the haidate (thigh pieces). “Just a song from my village.”
“It’s very pretty.”
You let out an airy laugh, tightening a strap. “My mother used to sing while she bustled around the house at night, finishing up her chores. I would stay up late at night just to hear her.” You stepped back, eyes carefully scanning his armor. “Finished. How does it feel?”
Kuroo lowered his arms, moving through motions to test his mobility. “Perfect.” He bent down, picking up a black hachimaki (headband), a silhouette of a golden stretching cat situated in the center of it. “Can you?” Kuroo held the fabric out to you.
You furrowed your brows. “Shouldn’t your soulmate or wife be the one to do this for you, my Lord?”
Kuroo offered you a smile, the flames of unknown emotions flickering in his eyes. “For now, I suppose I shall have to settle for my loyal bodyguard and closest friend.” A gentle hiss of air left you as you exhaled, your fingers brushing against his hand as you took the fabric. You’d gotten used to the electric pull between you both but it was still exhilarating when you experienced it. Kuroo kneeled, letting you stand behind him as you tied the hachimaki for him. “Thank you, (L.Name).” He stood, tying his sword to his waist and picking up his kusarigama. “Shall we ride?” Kuroo looked back at you.
“Wherever you go, my Lord, I shall be there.” You bowed your head to him. A knock at the door. You and Kuroo remained staring at each other as the door slid open.
“Lord Kuroo, (L.Name).” Kenma’s steady voice filled the room. “The men are ready to depart.” You slipped a black and gold cat mask on, pale sakura blossoms adorned the markings.
You were the first to break eye-contact, moving towards the door. Behind you, you heard the shuffle of Kuroo’s armor. “Let’s begin the raid then.” Entering the court-yard, you saw Lev holding the reins for your dappled mare and Kuroo’s black warhorse.
“Thank you, Lev.” You hopped on, patting Yua on the side of her neck. She had been a gift from Kuroo once you were made his bodyguard. Kuroo climbed onto Tadao, pulling the reins out of Lev’s hand in one fluid motion.
“Let’s ride.” Kuroo kicked his heels into Tadao, galloping through the open gates. You spurred Yua onwards, matching his pace as thundering hooves followed behind.
“You promised that you would be with me wherever I went.”
You offered him a soft smile. “My apologies for breaking my promise, my love.” His heart skipped a beat as shaky fingers squeezed yours.
The heavy clouds crackled above you, droplets cascading down. “The heavens cry for us, dear.” Kuroo chuckled softly, blood-stained fingers brushing against your cheek. “I love you (Name).” Your heart soared. Since you had met him, your heart has been his. Your hand shook as you raised it from his chest to his cheek, cupping it.
“I’m just glad,” a shuddering breath, “that I could save you one last time, Tetsu.” Your hand dropped, and Kuroo’s cry of anguish echoed throughout the streets. Above, thunder rumbled as the roar of heavier rain raced to match it. Crimson pools were washed away as Kuroo knelt there, your body still firmly clasped to his, violent sobs barely masked by the rain. The only time he could hold you like this ended up being the last chance he’d ever get.
Epilogue:
Curses left plump lips as you scrambled down crowded streets. Turning sharply, you let out a sigh of relief. Standing underneath the wooden blue fence was a familiar sight. “Sorry for the wait!” You waved as you approached, chest heaving as you caught your breath. He turned, grinning as he tucked his phone into his pocket. “Were you here long?”
“Not at all.” He extended his arm. “Shall we?”
“Let’s!” You laced your arm through his, tugging him along with you as you entered the park. “Y’know, this is my first hanami.”
“Oh really?” Kuroo looked down at you, his eyes sparkling. “Well I’m glad to be here with you.” He leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to your lips. Eyelashes fluttered as your eyes shut before he pulled away. As your lips chased his for another, a pale pink petal drifted down, sticking itself to your lips. You spluttered, pulling back. Kuroo let out an obnoxious laugh as he plucked it off your laps. “Should I be jealous?” He teased, holding the petal in front of your face.
“Shut up, rooster-head,” you scowled, averting your face as your face warmed. You shifted your attention to the sakura trees that surrounded you, eyes widening. “This is so beautiful!”
“Not nearly as beautiful as you.”
“You’re cheesy as hell, Kuroo.”
“Only when it’s you.” Your heart skipped a beat as you absorbed the moment. The words seemed so familiar and close to your heart. A tear cascaded down the left side of your cheek. Startled, you raised a hand to it, collecting it on your fingertip as you pulled it back to stare at it. “Are you alright?” Kuroo looked down at you, brow furrowed. “Why are you crying?”
You took in a deep breath, steeling your nerves. “I’m not sure.” You squeezed his arm, letting the sorrow ebb away at his comforting presence. “C’mon, let’s go.” Pointing down the path, you tugged him along with you. Everything just felt right, like this is exactly where you were supposed to be all along. He felt right. Like you and Kuroo were meant to be together, side-by-side against the world. You glanced up at your boyfriend, a soft smile crossing your face. Nothing would tear you guys apart, you would never let it.
AN: I did a lot of research on this, so please enjoy some of these fun facts :^)
💟 A phoenix tattoo in Japanese culture represents ‘resurrection’, ‘victory’, and ‘ardor’ whereas the peony represents ‘abundance’, ‘dignity’, and ‘accomplishment’
💟 Kuroo gave her a white chrsyanthemum hair-pin. In Japanese culture, white chrysanthemums represent ‘truth’ or ‘grief’. While in grief was the truth revealed.
💟 ‘Yua’ means “binding love” in Japanese whereas ‘Tadao’ means “loyal, faithful man”
💟 Tears that begin from the left eye symbolise sadness

Dark Pit: By kicking all of their sorry asses to the group.
Makoto: Oh. Figure you would say something like that.....
Dark Pit: Yeah, well, they started first, sis. So afterwards, we decided to hangout, get to each other a lot more than I thought we would at the time and then eventually, we....(Starts Blushing a Little) Decided to start a three way relationship with one another.
Ren: That's sweet and all, but...How exactly did you ended dating two of them at the same time?
Dark Pit: Well, during our time together, they both told me that had feelings for me and want me to choose between the both of them. And honestly, that was pretty much the most hardest decision I've gotten myself into in my entire life.
Makoto: Seriously?
Dark Pit: Yep. I mean...On the one hand, you got Misako, who's tough, witty, can kick ass on her own, and is pretty cool to hangout with, despite her smartass remarks. And on the other hand, you got Kyoko, who's overall cuteness could literally rival that to Kirby's. I'm not even kidding on that statement. So, instead of choosing, I made up a third option and told them that I want to date the both of them. And....to my surprise, they.... actually agree to it. But not like....right away. It was after they confessed their feelings to one another first, since they're best friends since kindergarten and everything. And after all of that, we all became a couple.
Makoto: Awww~ That's actually really sweet, Pitto-san. We're glad it worked out for you three in the end.
Dark Pit: So.....Does this mean that you approved in our relationship?
Ren: (Smiles Softly) Yeah. I mean, we have been since the moment you introduce us to them. (Chuckles Lightly) We could already tell that those two are perfect matches for you.
Makoto: (Smiles Brightly) And all it really matters to the both of us is that you three are happy with another. But, if you like, Ren-Ren and I could give you some pointers of being in a relationship.
Ren: You know, since we're a power couple and all.
Dark Pit: You mean like an old married couple?
Makoto: (Blushes Herself) S-Somthing like that.....
Dark Pit: (Sighs While Smiling a Little) Well, either way, I'm.... kinda thankful for you guys.
Ren: No thanks are necessary....(Smirks Starts Forming on his Face) Pitto-Kins.
Dark Pit: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock Once He Heard that Nickname) What did you just call me?
Ren: Oh nothing. Just your nickname. What was it again?.....Ah. I know. Pitto-Kins.
Dark Pit: No...(Slowly Starts Glaring at Ren) No. No. Nono. No. No! We are NOT doing this right now, Ren!
Ren: Doing what? Giving you a taste of your own medicine? Need I remind you all of the times you called me "Ren-Ren"?
Dark Pit: What the hell are you.... EVERYONE CALLS YOU THAT!?
Ren: Yeah, but more or less, they have privileges to do so. You, on the other, kept calling me that out of spite.
Dark Pit: ('Groans im Annoyance') Whatever. All i know is that you, are NOT allow to call me that! Only Kyoko and sometimes Misako can do so!
Ren: You say that. But when I tell the whole gang about it at the mansion, you're gonna wish you kept it a secret sooner.
Dark Pit: (Got up Into Ren's Face) You wanna go right now, Joker Boy?
Ren: I like to see you try, you little Edgelord-
Makoto: That's enough! (Pulls her Boys Away from One Another) Both of you, no fighting on my watch, understand?
Ren/Dark Pit: (Points at One Another) But hr started it-
Makoto: (Immediately Gives the Duo the Cold, Old Fashion Niijima Glare) Boys.....
Ren/Dark Pit: (Sweating Bullets in Fear Before Sighing in Defeat) Yes, ma'am.... We're sorry.....
Makoto: (Smiles Brightly While Placing Both of her Around Ren and Dark Pit's Backs) Good. Now, how about we head back home already? I'm pretty sure everyone is wondering where we are right now.
Ren: (Shrugged) Fine by me. (Turns to Dark Pit) What do think, kid?
Dark Pit: (Shrugged) Eh. Let's go home already.
