I promise I will shut up about the Broadway Revival sometime soon but thinking about it again, I do think that if it were just bad, I wouldn’t pay any attention to it at all.
Like… I don’t really clown much on the West End Revival. I mean, yes, the three big changes in that production I know off the top of my head are A) Rap!Tugger, which most everyone hated, B) Growltiger costumes, which most everyone didn’t care about, and C) Sexy!Griz, which most everyone either hated intimately or didn’t care about. But even so, nobody really dissects the West End Revival the way we do the Bway Revival. And part of that may have to do with less accessible boots, but I’ve seen (probably) most of the West End Revival footage that exists and yet it’s the Bway Revival that gets my goat.
And, yes, the Gillian Lynne snub element of the Bway choreo definitely plays a big part in that.
But also… the Bway Revival is sometimes really good? The West End Revival just... *is*. It’s a 98 clone with slightly different (and generally disliked) costumes. If it weren’t for the sort-of-racist and unbearably cringe Rap!Tugger, I don’t think this production would get much attention within the fandom at all (despite doing really well financially), because that’s all it really is: a perfectly serviceable 98 clone.
(And that’s not a bad thing. I like 98. I like the West End Revival. It’s a good production with skilled performers, chunks of it are on yt check it out.)
But the Bway Revival changes don't universally suck. There are elements (lots of elements!) of the Bway Revival I adore and I genuinely think are better than the original. Everything to do with Macavity, imo, is just brilliant. The old Macavity fight choreo had this kind of cool abstract tribal vibe to it, but the new choreo looks violent. It also looks more catlike; Munk and Mac crouch low to the ground like hunched-up cats, they circle each other, and the hits actually look like they connect at the right angles. The goofier parts (the mutual ass-slap, the playing tug-of-war with Demeter, the piggyback ride) are removed so it feels more serious: Munk actually looks nervous or frightened sometimes despite not backing down, and it looks like the background cats might be being controlled (which explains why few cats try and help Munk during the fight until the end). Not even to touch upon the lighting and music.
Revival!Macavity’s style of movement is super unique and recognizable too, Daniel Gaymon’s Macavity is amazing, I love how the way he moves sometimes makes him look possessed by something (also his Plato was adorable, He Has The Range Darling). His costume is cool on its own, (I don't love the old Macavity design, which simultaneously makes him look more like a tiger and also a little boy wearing pajamas rather than a housecat) but I love how the little mane-like collar and wig curls makes him look like Tugger & I love the parallels between the two that this production emphasizes. Tugger, the tribe’s most popular cat & pride and joy, versus Macavity, the outcast. Tugger, who everyone wants, versus Macavity, who can’t seem to acquire the one cat he wants.
Plus Macavity’s mind control? In the classic Mac freezes the cats; in the Bway Revival he forces them to dance. In the show where dancing together is a symbol of togetherness and community.  In the show where characters frequently imitate each other to indicate closeness or admiration. In the show where you spend like 5 minutes watching Grizabella the Outcast Cat fail to dance along with the others, Macavity forces the others to dance with him. NO NOTES WHATSOEVER.
And the extra lore and worldbuilding they add to the magic element? I don’t love the Macavity Interlude, but “He hypnotizes with his eyes/His head moves like a snake” in combination with the fact that it seems like Macavity needs eye contact to control other cats? Plus how Tugger, Munk, and Deuteronomy all seem to be immune to his powers to a degree?
This element isn’t really in the boot on yt but in later performances there’s a bit at the end of the fight where Macavity, (on the top of the car) visibly tries to use his powers on the gathered cats, and when he fails he looks down at his hands and then scrambles to grab the jumper cables. The idea that he has some kind of ‘magic meter’ that he is capable of using up somehow? Potentially explaining why he went the subtle route and tries to impersonate Deut rather than go in guns blazing for Demeter?
THE WAY DEMETER REACHES FOR HIM WHEN HE FIRST GRABS HER? The way she looks like she’s flailing and trying to get away from him the second time, after the fight? Tantomile jumping between Demeter and Mac the second he lets go of her?
AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE MISTO/MAC PARALLELS I’VE BEEN WORKING ON A GIFSET FOR THAT
It’s so good. Those changes make me go insane. Because they’re deliberate, and pointed, and they add things to the story, build upon the story, and add more depth to the story. They’re also just cool and fun to look at and play around with. That’s the thing that gets me about the Bway Revival, because they were capable of making insightful and meaningful changes that genuinely elevated the source material in really cool ways.

CATS ships mating dances as my favourite strictly come dancing dances!!
That may or may not just be basically all of John and Johannes dances (pls dont judge me these are mostly mlm ships and I feel it best represents them plus they are all amazing!!)
(Inspired by this post!) Prepare bc ima dive head first into this and it will be long lol

There is no doubt in my mind now that tugoffelees would do a Rumba like This !!! Like the slow deliberate motions that were literally MADE to show eachother off while still taking their own places in the spotlight. A rumba isnt like either of their natural, preferred ways of dancing, but instead a dance that amplifies the emotions that are rarely ever seen infont of the tribe.
Tuggers deep caring side (that we see the moment after misto brings back old doot) is now fully on display for the tribe to see, showing how out of everything, this is who he found and he doesnt have eyes for anyone else, and this fact is something he knows he will never question.
On the other hand we see Mistoffelees, the dance displaying his talents perfectly, hes literally holding the spotlight on them as he shows the tribe that he can lean on Tugger, and without having to look, knows the other tom is right there, ready to support him and lead him if hes anxious, and vise versa.
NOT TO MENTION THE SONG!!! literally just them saying they are not together for popularity nor magical prowess bc they know they are more than that!

Next up is a lil crazy one but hear me out- Misto x Macavity is hands down This Paso Doble and I will fight you on it! THE POWER in every movement, the dance playing out as a fight because that's what their relationship is, in the best way possible!!!
You have these two incredibly powerful cats, who have always and forever will be, even between lives, connected by the same erratic destructive beautiful force of nature, and as much as they clash and make chaos, always in a never ending fight to see who's the best, but its because of that that they cant help getting drawn to eachother.
In the dance they are constantly drawing the other closer while also pushing away. They mirror eachothers movements while also dancing as the others oposit, an ongoing to and through. They keep switching who's leading as if its battle to be the one in control!!!!
Not to mention THE LIGHTING ITS SELF!!!! A gorgeous show of their emotions crazed and all over the place while still keeping order (plus a fun lil misto glittersplosion at the end!)

Okay this ones for the inspo of this post @afairytalestray and what I think for Coricojerries dance since their stuff basically convinced me this is arguably one of the best ships ever!!
Now I wasnt sure at first, like tugoffelees they are two very different people with very different dance style but when I tell you when i found this dance?? I became pretty sold I found it!!
First off the song?? When I think of coricojerrie my mind always thinks at how they are each one of a twin with vastly different life experiences yet they both still feel like lonely souls of london that found a home in eachother! Even with their sisters theres just something that separates them from the girls and the rest of the junkyard, but that didn't stop them from gaining an unquestioned place next to eachother!!
In the dance, they start off unsure, still a little lost but then the FIND eachother!!! In this uncanny contemporary dance that manages to mix in jerries acrobatics and acting into it, blending into something unconventional but THEM!!!!
They use each to get through life like they get through the dance, with the mix of physic powers and someone who had only really known a life of crime, the lead and lift eachother, and even if others think they are weird or annoying, they end heads held high and ready to support eachother!!

Last but not least (for this post at least bc it's getting heckin long oops) ALONZOSTAP!!! I love these boys ma dudes okay and that why I cant deny my heart when i think of this show dance as their dance!
The sweet sweet mix between the tender I love you moments, to the fun showy bits that let's their personalities shine???? Them coming together at the beginning, letting how my they care for eachother come first, only to burst into something exiting and fun that's ever so slightly out of their comfort zones while still representing the laughter they bring to eachother!!
There is no denying that these two are both showmen at heart, just in different ways. Munk strives to tell the storys that teach the next generation, while Alonzo is more seeking the thrill of showing off and dancing because he knows he looks good because it feels good.
So together they are able to combine their loves if performing, dancing for the hell of it while also showing and teaching the younger cats what love is and how its supposed to make you feel! The intense moment where they show that the are the protectors of the tribe, that they are strong and that being who you are and loving someone intensely dosent take away your power but makes you stronger!!!

What’s Fair
Here is today’s entry for @flame-x‘s Kitten Week!  Trigger warnings ahead for implied neglect and abuse of a child.
There was a part of Jemima–a troublesome little part, like a hangnail that drew blood when you tried to bite it off–that felt jealous of her baby sister.  She knew it was awful and made absolutely no sense, but she couldn’t get it to go away.  No matter how much she tried.
After all, Sillabub was born in the safest place in the entire city, surrounded by cats who loved her and all came together to sing her a welcome into the family.  She got to sleep in a proper den full of soft blankets and stuffed animals, and whenever she cried someone would be there to feed her, play with her, or rock her to sleep.  Jemima wasn’t so lucky.  Her memories of when she was that small were still foggy and indistinct with long shadows along the edges, but she could remember the cellar of the Palace (that was what Macavity called it–she didn’t learn its full name until later) very vividly.  She could remember how quiet it was except for when cars passed the transom window overhead or the pipes rattled and hissed in the winter.  Sometimes that rattling and hissing got so loud she had to cover her ears for hours and just listen to her own breathing until the noise didn’t make her want to cry anymore.  She remembered how cold it was and how little that tiny wooden box she and Mama had to sleep in helped at all.  The blankets were so thin, and it was even colder when Mama was called away upstairs.  Oh, sure, sometimes Uncle Jerrie or Aunt Teazer and Bomba would bring her a bird they’d caught or an extra pillow or an old toy from a rubbish tip; but the older Jemima got, the more she realized how much they risked getting in trouble for those tiny gifts, and she almost wished they wouldn’t bring her anything.  So on those lonely days, she would just curl up and try not to bother anybody until Mama came back.
Sillabub would never have to worry about being cold, or getting anyone in trouble, or not having anybody by her side all day.  And Jemima wanted to resent her for that, but she knew it wasn’t right.  She couldn’t help where she’d been born.  She had no idea what her parents or sister had gone through before she came along, and Jemima didn’t particularly want to tell her.  There was a lot she still didn’t understand herself, that Mama and Daddy said would wait until she was older… maybe then everything would make sense.
Maybe there was a reason she’d been born in the cellar instead of the Junkyard.  Or that Macavity had to be so horrible.  Or why she felt like such a bad sister some nights, looking after Sillabub and knowing she loved her, of course she loved her baby sister, but still wanting so badly to scream It’s not fair!
“Sometimes life isn’t fair,” her Papa told her one of those nights, after she’d already cried on his shoulder for what felt like hours and he’d reassured her that she wasn’t a bad cat for feeling this way.  All the while talking in that slow, gentle way, like he wanted her to understand every word.  “We can’t control everything that happens in the world… believe me, I wish we could.  But what we can do,” he added with a squeeze of her shoulders, “is try to protect the ones we care about.  That way we can make life a little bit fairer for everyone.”
Jemima remembered nodding at that before frowning thoughtfully as the idea settled over her.  “It sounds hard.”
Papa gave her a sad sort of smile.  “It can be.  But I usually find it’s worth it in the end.”
She tried to keep that in mind.  Every time her mind cycled back to those days in the cellar and felt that horrible pit-of-her-stomach feeling return, she reminded herself that it truly wasn’t Sillabub’s fault.  That she’d never wish that on her baby sister, who was too small and innocent to know, much less deserve any of it.  That if anybody tried to drag her down and keep her in some dark, noisy place, Jemima would fight to get her free.  That she really did love her, no matter what the worst part of her mind might try to tell her.  That she had a duty now to be a good sister… and to make Papa feel less sad about making the world a little more fair.
It didn’t fix things–not completely.  But on nights where Sillabub fussed in her sleep and Jemima was the first one awake to hold her and her favorite toy in her lap for a while, she could feel it starting to help.

now that its been a couple weeks to think, what are some standouts from the current tour cast?
Oooo what a good question!
Let me say this: Everyone in this cast is fantastic. All the new performers are incredible and all the returning cast members are really putting in their all. I don't have a complaint about any of them. Also I got to talk and meet almost all of them after the shows and they were so sweet.
Some standouts though:
Erica Lee as Bombalurina... I know I've raved about her MANY times but I am still not over her. I did not come back from all the shows expecting Erica to end up as my favorite Bombalurina, but here we are. She did Cats on Oasis so she has experience with the show already and it SHOWS in her performance. She moves so fluidly on stage and her VOICE. UGH HER VOICE. It's so unique, I literally blue-screened when I heard her perform Macavity for the first time. Erica Bombalurina is absolutely my new face and voice claim for Bombalurina, I cannot imagine any other voice for her anymore. Also the way she performs Macavity aligns so well with my own personal headcanons for Bomba's relationship with Macavity and Demeter. I'm really hoping Erica stays in the Junkyard for awhile because I can't imagine seeing any other Bombalurina (though I did see Ellie Bombalurina one show and she also did fantastic!)
Hank Santos as Tugger. Obviously I knew I was going to like him, but WOW, he is so Tugger? He plays Tugger more on the sexy, suave side, which I usually prefer my Tugger portrayals compared to the silly, vain Tuggers. Hank also has so many interactions with the audience? Like, he was constantly winking and making "call me" signs at the audience (a few times at me, which almost killed me outright). At one of the shows too he even took a woman's phone during the curtain calls and took a selfie with it (And he also apparently did the same thing at a show in Canada so I guess that's just a thing he's doing now which like. Total Tugger behavior). Also his voice is just so Good ugh. Absolutely in my top 3 Tuggers up there with John Partridge and Dominik Hees.
Kade Wright as Munkustrap. Okay I LOVE Kade!Munk. Kade is a fantastic actor, and that really comes out in his performance. I've never been more invested in the Mac fights until watching Kade, because he REALLY plays up Munk getting his ass beat and he really makes you feel like Munk is genuinely being hurt during the fight. I already much prefer the Broadway Revival Mac fight compared to the og fight because it actually feels like a fight, and Kade Munk and the entire cast really make the Mac fight feel so intense. Also Kade is just really sweet and I enjoy his voice a lot.
Ugh and so many others. Yuka Victoria is adorable and her moments with Samuel Plato are the cutest things in the world. Taryn Rumpleteazer is really good and she makes an awesome partner with Brian Jerrie (who is fucking INCREDIBLE as Jerrie and I'm so glad he is the principal Jerrie now). Brendan Tumble is super cute and also wow that boy can FLIP.
I just love this cast so much and even if you don't think you're a fan of the Broadway Revival, if you have the chance to see this cast for yourself. They are all so phenomenal.

i saw the cats national tour, these are my act two thoughts
my act one thoughts
im not gonna paste the entire cast list again bc its too long aaaahhh
The Moments of Happiness: old deut comes out on stage like, halfway through intermission ? and the next cats out at the start of act 2 are cassandra and the psychic twins. I enjoy how the psychic twins Bop sillabub on the head to get her to sing the lines from memory . its adorable. after everyone sings the lines from memory, old Deuteronomy leaves the stage
Gus The Theater Cat: because john was playing old deuteronomy literally right before GTTC starts, Kayli has to start the song alone. When gus finally does make it out on stage, a small group of cats forms at his feet, most notably the two kittens and Mungorump. Rumpleteazer stuck her tongue out at sillabub at one point and made silly upset :( , and then I think they also bullied Pouncival a bit too? I was busy looking at tugger and then heard a bit of audience laughter and then looked back to The Group and seen an upset pounce, but idk what they did to him . Gus’ blood curdling noise was wonderful and zuggers reaction was adorable
The Awefull Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles: gus, mid-sentence, forgets the rest of the title (I think starting at intervention?) and munk helps him out which i find very sweet . tugger and jenny help Rumpleteazer get into Dog Gear before her barking match against Pouncival. After the barking match, rump keeps her dog gear on, but pounce goes and sits on the tire w/ silly and tugger (who was Very into the performance) the entrance of the great rumpus cat was top notch . I love the lighting in this show
Skimbleshanks The Railway Cat: (theres a train going by as im typing this how fitting) because of the lack of an old deuteronomy, rump has to start the song all by herself and she does a great job and im very proud of her . after that Skimble runs up to the top of the car and pretends to be asleep for the “Skimble? Where is Skimble?” line which like . thank u sean . also sean is an absolutely adorable and amazing Skimble. legit couldn’t tell that this was only his third (!!!) time in the role. and to the surprise of no one, zugger also had adorable reactions during this song, and during the part where Skimble is describing to the kittens how humans act on the train, tugger goes onto the tire next to Munkustrap and starts doing some Hip Thrusts and Wiggles TM . and then Munkustrap, in a surprising turn of events, ALSO starts thrusting them. Which surprised not only me but also seemingly surprised munk (and tugger) before he decided to Just Go With It. And then old deut shows up at the very very end, like literally just to get kidnapped by henchman!pounce
Macavity: ok so when Macavity shows up its like . legitimately a little bit frightening bc it was very loud . connor did an incredible job as Macavity though kudos to him. As for the actual song ,,,, I am very in love with both lauren and Chelsea and they both did such a good good job. Chelsea specifically has such a good, deep bomba voice im in love
Macavity Fight: ok I really don’t have much to say about this other than the part where Macavity and Munkustrap are both really low to the ground, you know . this part ?

devon was like . literally On The Floor during that part he was so low to the ground . also ! I love alonzos lil powerup moment he goes through after munk gets wrecked, its very sweet.
Mr. Mistoffelees: after tugger says “you ought to ask magical mr Mistoffelees” everyone starts to leave the stage, and then he says the “listen to me and don’t scoff” line. I was watching munk and demeter during this part and found it interesting that even after tugger said that, munk still looked like he wanted to leave, but demeter tapped him and convinced him to stay. Paul as misto is incredible. Hes an absolutely wonderful dancer, and I love how the broadway revival went HARD on making it clear that misto deals with light magic (he does lighting stuff in jennys song, in tuggers song, in the ball, and in TABOTPATP) hes just a cute lil light up boy and I love him a lot . pauls misto also clearly has Main Character Syndrome and i think thats perfect . after he brings old deut back, (and after tugger credits him for bringing old deut back,) tugger and misto do a lil paw touch and a head nuzzle, was very cute. (side note: misto has a bunch of really cute moments w a few characters, namely bomba, rump, and demeter)
Memory: im going to repeat this one last time: kelliann decarlo is an amazing Grizabella . but also ? bri is the most adorable sillabub, and together they formed one of my favorite renditions of memory . its just got so much Emotion in it..
The Journey to the Heaviside Layer: my only comment about this song is that Mistoffelees was the only cat who DIDN’T touch Grizabella and I don’t know why
The Ad-Dressing of Cats: the audience loved this one because of the poses the cats would take, but my one true thought is “goddamn misto is so close to that tire isn’t he” like . hes clearly supposed to be looking at old Deuteronomy but I do not think that paul is able to actually see old deut from the angle hes at.
Ive got two notes on the bows: zach and I made a Very brief moment of eye contact, and after doing some Shimmies with Mungojerrie, tugger is beckoned over by misto and they do some shimmies, a paw touch, and another head nuzzle. oh and i guess a third note would be that kieran does the first bow (the pouncival bow) AND the last bow (the tumble bow, he doesnt flip but he does do some cool Jumps) and honestly im so proud of him and he deserves both bows

I love your hc for Gus, Gus Jr. and Jelly for Tecklenburg and would love to hear if you have any others! You have some very interesting ideas and I'm curious to know what else you've got!
Awe thanks! I have quite a few. I’ll try to categorize them for you. -The Jellicle Circus was at one time a human circus, but it burned down. Old Deuteronomy was a circus cat who ended up being left behind and he decided to stay and create his own circus of only cats. -Grizabella came to the circus after getting lost by her rich owners. She stayed with them for quite a while, her and Deuteronomy fell in love and had their three kittens. But then Griz’s owners found her and she chose to go home with them. Unfortunately for her, they fell on hard times and had to get rid of her again. But when she wanted to return to the Jellciles, they rejected her since she left her kittens. -Macavity lit a fire at the beginning of the show because Munkustrap is specifically terrified of fire. -Old Deut’s staff represents leadership. Macavity stole it and thus declared himself leader. This was enough to help Munkustrap get over his fear and fight Macavity for the circus. -Skimbleshanks met Old Deuteronomy at a train station. The two became good friends and Skimble joined the circus. It took a long time, but he eventually got the circus’ old kiddy train up and running and earned his name as ‘The cat of the railway train’ -Jennyanydots is often mistaken for a tom cat. She’s very well known as the bearded queen but that doesn’t make her embrace her womanhood any less. Her tiny husband will murder anyone who makes fun of her. -The staff Munkustrap uses during Pekes and Pollicles is his training staff that he’s had since he was very little that he used to mimic Old Deut. -Coricopat and Tantomile and Jennyanydot’s adopted babies. -Pouncival found his red hat when he was little and has never stopped wearing it. Gus cheerfully makes a lot of remarks about how the color red reminds him of communism. -Most of the swing cats were abandoned kitties who were taken in and given a home. -Skimbleshanks hates Bustopher Jones in this version. (Idk why he just seems put out with him all the time during that number) -Rum Tum Tugger looks a lot like his mother, and thus Old Deut tended to spoil him. But he makes sure that Tugger at least semi-respects Munkustrap. -The whole circus is magic in its own way.

Today at 1:00 PM EST I saw Cats the Musical at the Shubert Theater with my mom. Here’s the saga:

Overture:
Mistoffelees was right next to me in the overture with glowing cats eyes and I nearly died right there.
I started crying during the overture, my mom gave me a tissue. Going great so far.
I started screaming at the end of the overture, people are starting to realize I’m a crazy person.
Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats:
Omg they’re here and they’re real and I’m here! I’m crying again.
I pointed out Cassandra to my mom as she came up the aisle. Mom is questioning why I know all the cats names.
MISTO AND TUGGER ARE CUDDLING EACH OTHER HOLY SHIT
The guy the cats call out for being surprised was right in front of me he looked So confused and scared and I was just grinning behind him.
Naming of Cats:
I’m whispering the words along with the cats. Plato made eye contact and smiled at me. I’m crying again.
Watching Victoria in the background is so much fun. She’s getting really into this.

Invitation to the Jellicle Ball:
Misto sneaking up on Victoria with a mischievous look in his eye is a mood.
Victoria looks so annoyed with him, they are literally me and my brother and it makes me so happy.
I love this Misto’s voice and he’s so fucking graceful and elegant and I love him!
MISTO AND TUGGER ARE DANCING TOGETHER OMG
Mungo and Rumple try to greet Munk and he rolls his eyes and tells them to go away. Jerre is very upset at this.
Gumbie Cat:
Looks like the trunk is either broken or not functioning in this space so Jenny just kinda slid out onto the top of it but she’s so beautiful so I don’t care.
Misto is being such a helpful and concerned boy whenever Jenny is around. He’s very concerned when Jenny spaces out for a solid minute.
The Gumbie trio are angels and I will take this belief to my grave.
Plato being a snarky little shit during the dance break made me laugh.
FOR SHES A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW
The Rum Tum Tugger:
He’s here and Skimble is not happy about it!
Misto and Skimble are arguing in the background. Looks like misto is saying Tugger is cute and Skimble is disagreeing.
Misto makes sure Skimble isn’t looking before joining the dance.
Skimble stop trying to pull cats away from Tugger he’s a big sexy magnet and you can’t stop those hips.
My mom is singing along, this makes me so happy.
Misto is just twitching and squealing like a kitten he loves his boyfriend so much.
Munk has given up, just rolled his eyes and walked off stage.
Skimble is now complaining to Jenny, Jenny is too busy staring at Tuggers ass to pay any mind.
Grizabella the Glamour Cat:
Oof. No one is happy rn.

This was the happiest I have been in a very long time.
The dancing was gorgeous and the character interactions are absolutley amazing throughout the entire sequence. It was truly a wonderful sight. And yes I did cry again, I’m running out of tissues.
Pas de Deux:
I love that there was no awkwardness or hesitation, just pure love and devotion and OH MY GOD HE ALMOST DROPPED VICTORIA.
Like everything was fine in the end but he visibly stumbled and old Deuteronomy looked very startled for a hot sec. Still very beautiful.
Memory:
DANGIT GRIZZABELLA I HAD JUST STOPPED CRYING!
In all honesty my favorite part was old Deuteronomy looking longingly at her in the background. He misses her so much. ;-;
INTERMISSION :3
Moments of Happiness:
Old Deuteronomy’s voice is so strong and his vibrato is simply heavenly.
Deut pats cori on the head, cori pats Jemima on the head, Jemima sings like an angel.

Gus the Theater Cat:
Jellylorum has such a lovely voice and her gentle movements are lovely.
Gus insulting the kittens is absolutely adorable, they’re so insulted.
Gus playfully hissing at Jemima before booping her nose makes me so soft.
Cat puns making the audience laugh is always wonderful.

Misto with a boot on his head is more hilarious than it should be.
Gus has such a wonderful voice and it’s very clear he’s having a blast up there.
Gus received the standing ovation he deserved. Bless that wiry cat man.

This was a simply gorgeous performance. This Grizabella made some wonderful character choices and there was a beautiful satisfaction when Victoria took her hand.
I did notice that even after he touched her Tugger looked very uncomfortable at Grizabella’s presence.

Demeter x Alonzo

If you would like some history/explanation of the blurry gifs, I’ve provided it under the cut. 
Anon asked:  i’m really curious about any alonzo and demeter you might find? if not then its ok but i’m super curious ever since we’ve gotten some bombastrap and that smol discussion about other demeter pairings lol
Oh, boy, anon, I am so glad you asked for this because I have been dying to talk about Demeter x Alonzo for forEVER, because it’s one of my absolute favourite CATS pairings. Here are a couple of examples I’ve dug up for you!
Okay, so, gif explanation because, I know what you’re thinking (and yes, I am one of those fans that make, like, two pixel gifs and lose my mind over pairings. I have to make the best of what I’ve got, alright?), but I swear, these are all examples of Demeter/Alonzo, and the reason why I know this is because of the explanation I will give in a second. 
GIF 1 - London, circa 1991
In many 80s and early 90s versions of “Macavity” (mainly in the US and other non-English productions, ex. early Mexico, the original Vienna production, early Hamburg productions (I believe), etc. ), Alonzo was on stage during the first half of the number. Alonzo would directly shadow Demeter’s movements and later dance briefly behind Bombalurina before ducking out. 
This one is a bit of an outlier, because it was part of a London based performance. Important to note that London productions rarely (if ever? I don’t think they ever did…) had Alonzo/Demeter as an implied pairing. London based replicas follow this pattern. So it’s a little strange they duplicated the Broadway/European shadow dance for this number, but hey, I’m here for it. (I chose this section specifically because of the reach and head tilt).
What I find interesting about this shadowing, is how Alonzo shadows Demeter’s part of the routine nearly step for step, beat for beat, while with Bombalurina, he falls half a step behind and seems moreso to be responding to what she is saying about Macavity visually.  This doesn’t necessarily suggest anything, but I find a lot of CATS fans seem to appreciate when individuals shadow/copy one another as indicative of their ship (Tugger/Misto) or a familial relationship (Skimble and Teazer), so regardless, at the very least it demonstrates a close visual connection. 
GIF 2 - Vienna, circa 1988
Early Broadway productions had Alonzo and Demeter strongly implied to be a couple throughout the show, and Alonzo took over the majority of the fight against Macavity (more on that in a second). Alonzo also had a different colour palette than the black and white you may be used to (he is brown, black and gold), which makes it harder to distinguish him, but not if you know what to look for.

The original Vienna production, being a replica(ish) production of Broadway, followed in these footsteps. Here, after Alonzo drags Demeter away from Macavity and checks on her, she runs back to attack him, Alonzo lunges after her, but Bombalurina struggles to hold him back. 
GIF 3 - Berlin, circa 2004
During the “Whirlygigs” section of the ball, Alonzo and Demeter hold hands during the back steps (They are the only two dancers to do so out of the rest of the crowd.)
(Berlin seems to have done this throughout the 2002-2004 run. Both of the Berlin examples I have are odd ones, because Berlin seemed to be doing moreso of a London replica at this time, as evidenced by costuming and certain bits of choreography. But hey, I’m not complaining) 
GIF 4 - Vienna, circa 1989/1990
Okay, so, you can tell if the production is moreso a Broadway replica or a London replica depending on how the fight with Macavity goes (and a couple of other things as well, including who the boys dance with in the “Boys Come In” section, but I digress). In the London production (which the 1998 video and a handful of other productions replicate, depending on the year), Munkustrap does most of the fight scene, only getting knocked out at the very end, with Alonzo briefly taking his place and then the rest of the cats. Since the release of the video, most productions followed suit with this. 
However, in the OBP, Munk is knocked out early on, and Alonzo takes up the majority of the fight scene instead. Besides London, most replica productions all over the world in the 80s and 90s followed suit. 
This is usually (note: not always, but usually) indicative that the cat that Demeter goes to check on and cuddle with is Alonzo during the blackout period. How can you tell for sure? Well, you can’t in these old videos, but I have taken visual clues (i.e. colour, dancer position, lack of armwarmer/striping/etc) to come to the conclusion that that is, in fact, Alonzo.

GIF 5 - Paris, circa 1990
Same deal. Munk is knocked out of the fight earlier on, leaving Alonzo to take up the rest of it, thus Demeter goes to thank him for saving her. I love how the actor pulls her tail closer to his face, because it looks like such a comforting himself motion. (This is def Alonzo due to wig shape and lack of stripes. Munk’s wig was very distinctive in the original Paris production)
GIF 6 - Madrid, circa 2004
Madrid is a strange outlier, too, because, while the “Boys Come In” section has Demeter dancing with Alonzo (He also does the lift section with her which I can also GIF because it deserves its own set), and generally (save a few exceptions) paired them together otherwise, the actual Macavity fight is a London replica. So I guess Madrid just really liked Bombastrap and Demlonzo regardless of replica or not.

As with a couple of other things, the popularity of the London based 1998 Video has shifted this pairing over to the wayside, with most recent replica productions and revivals replacing it with Demestrap instead (Including the 2016 Broadway Revival and the Vienna Revival). A shame, really.

so, @queencurlycrown suggested that I sit down and watch the 2019 movie all the way through while typing out my thoughts about it, and I thought that was an absolutely BRILLIANT idea (she’s a genius, so I shouldn’t be surprised).
So please, enjoy my (very long) ramblings!
Overture:
- I love how echo-ey the music is. It’s not as strong or intense, but it gets the job done, and gets me excited for the movie.
- Cat shadows are kind of creepy, not gonna lie
- OH SHIT MUNKU MY BOY GET YOUR GIRLFRIEND HONEY!!
- The music getting so intense as soon as Victoria is thrown just gives me chills, honestly. Also, can I fight an old lady? Because I want to fight an old lady.
- I kind of like how all the cats immediately surround the bag as soon as the old lady leaves oH HI CASSANDRA I LOVE YOU QUEEN ...where was I? CORI MY SON I LOVE YOU
- All of them surrounding Victoria and circling her is super intense and wonderful and UGH YAY MUNKU HELP YOUR GIRLFRIEND
Jellicle Songs:
- Hi, I’m in love with Robbie Fairchild
- All of them popping out of random places just makes me feel so immersed in their world and I love it. Also, is Alonzo the one who sings “can you say of your bite that it’s worse than your bark?”
- PLATO SOCRATES I LOVE YOU BOYS
- Jfc Cori stop flirting with Victoria and give mISTO HIS HAT BACK also you’re an absolute dumbass and I absolutely adore you, you little baby boy
- Misto adjusting his hat with his tail? I’m in love. But also, the way that the music picks up makes it such a bop, and it really starts to get you into the movie.
- Gosh, Tantomile, how do you keep track of the braincell? Because Cori most definitely does not have it.
- Misto, you absolute fucking DORK that face during “Were you Whittington’s friend” GETS ME and Cassandra is just so unimpressed. They have such sibling energy.
- Syllabub, honey, please get out of the toilet.
- Okay, I’m honestly getting sibling vibes from Plato, Socrates, and Coricopat, so that’s my new headcanon for those three, plus Tantomile. Plato and Socrates are Cori and Tanto’s big brothers.
- Gosh, if any Munkustrap smiled at me like that I’d follow him into an alley too.
- Misto, HOW DID YOU GET CAUGHT ON A CLOTHESLINE??
-  Cori, your HIPS. And, going off of the choreography, I actually really enjoy it? It’s very modern, and while it’s nothing like the Broadway choreo, I think it definitely gives the movie its own feel while still staying true to the original vibes.
- Gosh, I love how the sign changes from Moriarty to Macavity. Also, please Mr. Macavity sir. Keep your coat and hat on. You look much better.
-  Ugh, I love all the looks that Munku and Victoria share. And how he’s guiding her around and keeping her close? Excuse me while I cry.
- WHO SAYS “ORATORICAL CATS” BECAUSE I LOVE HIM? Also, Misto, pls, calm down. I know you’re already in love, but you’ve just met the queen. JERRIE PUT THAT BOX DOWN
- CORI JUMPED ONTO PLATO/SOCRATES’ BACK THEY’RE BROTHERS OKAY?? (sorry, this entire one song turned into “liv’s in love with coricopat”)
- “a-and magical cats!” oh sweetheart...
- Francesca’s dancing is just stunning. She did an amazing job as Victoria, and I will fight for her honor.
- OOF the way it just trails off just as Victoria’s getting into the song and how everyone runs off and she’s just standing there confused. It’s perfection.
- Macavity with the hat and coat is just so much better than nakey Macavity. But the way he obviously tries to hypnotize Victoria is so well-done. 
Naming of Cats/Victoria’s Dance:
- Cassandra and Demeter are girlfriends. I don’t make the rules.
- Still not 100% on their characters and their reactions to Victoria, but I do appreciate some protective ladies. Them hissing at Misto gives me more “We don’t know her, so you can’t talk to her just yet, so let the big sisters do the talking” vibes.
- Hi, I love Robbie Fairchild
- The different cats saying the different names, the setting being a graveyard, the very faint soundtrack in the back, it’s all just so creepy and I love it.
- I still hate that they skipped talking about the second part of the First Name, and the Second Name. It still doesn’t make sense, and I wish they had kept it because MUNKU DESERVES TO SAY HIS NAME DAMMIT (it would also give cats like Plato, Jelly, Cori and Demeter a chance to introduce themselves as well)
- HOOO BOY THAT TENSION BETWEEN MUNKU AND VICTORIA WOW THEY’RE ALREADY IN LOVE (also I’m just picturing Misto freaking out about the pretty cats)
- It’s almost as if Munku is teaching Victoria how to truly feel like a Jellicle/dance, as if she’s never danced before.
Invitation to the Jellicle Ball:
- oh... oh my poor anxious boy... (laurie I love you)
- Misto: *is anxious* JUGGLING TIME BABEY
- Munkustrap be like: *internally panicking at how adorable Misto is*
- Munku you smooth bastard. He lifts Tori so easily.
- The expressions, and the CGI of the ears and tails just makes everything 10 times better.
The Gumbie Cat:
- Oh... oh god here we go.
- Robbie’s voice is angelic, I love him, and he’s the only good part of this entire cursed scene.
- I hate Rebeldots. I’m sorry, but I do. I don’t enjoy anything about her. It’s just... awful. WHY THE CROTCH SCRATCHING??? JUST STOP PLEASE
- WHY THE CGI MOUSE CHILDREN PLEASE NO
- Munku leaning over the rocking chair with his arms crossed? Baby boy...
- These expressions are absolute gold, though. Everyone is absolutely terrified and confused. 
- Plato and Socrates are helpful boys, and are just happy to be there.
- WHY THE CGI COCKROACHES STOP IT
- DON’T UNZIP YOUR SKIN PLEASE
- Misto helping out the cockroaches? Also baby boy...
The Rum Tum Tugger:
- MY BOY I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!! I really love Derulo Tugger and the rebellious teen-vibes he gives off. 
- LOOK AT HIM COMPLIMENTING THE MICE!!! WHAT A RESPECTFUL BOY!
- Munkustrap just. adopting all the cockroaches. I can’t with him sometimes. He’s just such a dad to everybody.
- I can’t believe I didn’t realize that Misto and Tugger are ex-boyfriends when I first watched this movie. It’s so obvious now.
- Plato, Socrates, and Tugger are BFFs. They even have matching necklaces. Someone come and collect these dorks please because oh my god I love them. 
- Rebeldots, please take your nasty “funny” comments and leave. They’re so uncalled for, and it really makes the scene kind of uncomfortable. Especially when she LOOKS DOWN AT MUNKU. But his expressions are the best part, so that’s all I pay attention to. 
- Ugh, I really love Jason’s voice during this whole song. This entire song just made me fall in love with him as Tugger, and his dancing and just how he portrays Tugger is amazing. 
- Wow, I love Cassandra. So much. I would die for her. 
- The way he sings “Victoria”? AMAZING (but that whole foot thing is just kind of weird so yeah)
- I know people have their feelings about his accent, but I find it totally adorable and I think he does a really good job of maintaining it throughout the song, except for a few moments. 
- Misto is ready to magic the hell out of Tugger at the end. Pls leave your ex-boyfriend alone and figure out your feelings, sweetie, before you do anything rash.
Grizabella the Glamour Cat:
- I really feel like Grizabella is Cassandra’s mother. That’s honestly the feeling I get, or she has to be a sister of some sort. The contempt that Cassandra sings with is just too intense. 
- Okay, unpopular opinion time: I wasn’t completely blown away by Jennifer as Grizabella. She was really good, but I just didn’t get the “wow” factor that I got from watching Elaine for the first time, or hearing Mamie singing “Memory” for the first time. I feel the same way about her Grizabella that I felt about Leona’s Grizabella. She’s good, but now insanely good.
- Demeter is protective of her girlfriend and stands with her against her mother/sister. 
- Plato/Socrates (I’m still not sure which one is which) standing in front of Victoria just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. They’re already so protective of her!!
- MUNKU AND MISTO ON EITHER ISDE OF VICTORIA!! I’M SOFT!!
- Why did we need another plothole about Grizabella’s past with Macavity? We didn’t need that!!
Bustopher Jones:
- Oh god, here we go again.
- Listen, I don’t hate Bustopher Corden’s voice. He has a good voice, I just really don’t enjoy his portrayal of Bustopher. He’s just a fat joke like Rebeldots, and I hate that. 
- Plato and Socrates have giant hats on, and they’re just sweet baby boys, okay?
- Cori!!! I love you!!! You’re so curious!!
- Misto’s so enamored with Tori. Honey, just tone it down a tiny bit, please.
- The entire “jumping onto the piece of wood” part is kind of cringey. The “gather up a few more of the... cats” line seems like it was a blooper/mistake they left in, because it almost seems like he forgot his line for a moment and they just didn’t catch it before sending the movie out. 
- Munku: *has his arms around Misto to help lift Bustopher* “don’tpanicdon’tpanicdon’tpanic”
- Mistoffelees, feeling Munku’s arms around him: “fuckfuckfuckfuck he’s really strong someone help pls”
- Demeter during this song is me. Confused, a little disgusted, and would rather be with Tugger and Cassandra during the song. 
- Just saying, Bustopher Jones would NEVER dig through trash. He’s a high-society cat, and only eats the best. 
Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer:
- Hoooo boy those accents. And the music in the background just is everything.
- Jerrie, you’re an absolute devil, and I’d die for you. Teazer, you’re just an angel and a cheeky sweetheart.
- I do love this version. I think it’s really cool, it has a really fun sound to it, and I’m glad that they went back to the original London recording. I do prefer the Broadway version, though, but I’m not angry at this version. It’s really cool, and the feel of the song gives you old-time crime-heist vibes. 
- Jerrie being gentler with Teazer than he is with Tori? What a good brother. 
- This song is basically just “Which twin can seduce the pretty cat the fastest”
- “Hello police officer! Bought these for her myself.” “You did what?” “Wait-” YOU HIMBO JERRIE I LOVE YOU
-  2019 Jerrie and Teazer are very chaotic, and a bit darker than the other twins we know, but I really do love their portrayals in this movie.
- Oh... oh no... I’m having flashbacks to my short. Now I’m crying over Misto again. Why did I kill Misto? (because I can, that’s why)
- Growltiger’s just kind of meh, and I guess he’s kind of a cool addition, but it’s just eh.
- Misto covering for Victoria when they get to the theater just makes me so soft, and Munku’s just kind in awe but also just like “what is happening with the pretty cats?”
Old Deuteronomy:
- Munku is such a sweet boy and he’s just the best son!! He loves his mom!!
- SKIMBLE!!!! WITH HIS TAP SHOES!!!!
- CORI YOU’RE AN ANGEL (this has also just turned into “liv is looking for any appearance by Cori”)
- I love this song just for the interactions that they all have with each other and with Old D. The way that they all look so happy and excited to see her is just so cute!!
- MUNKU’S FACE MAKES ME WANT TO CRY HE’S SUCH A SWEET BOY!!
- I think Judi Dench is a fine Old Deuteronomy, but part of me thinks that the main reason she was brought in for the movie is because she never got her shot to be in Cats, as she had the injury that then caused Elaine Paige to be brought in, so when they were trying to figure out the cast, she was probably one of the first ones to pop into their heads. (nothing against her or her portrayal of Old D. Just a thought.)
The Jellicle Ball:
- Skimble and Munku helping Old D into the theater is probably the sweetest thing ever. They’re Very Responsible Boys who Respect everyone.
- I love Gus very much.
- “Jellicles jump like a jumping jack” their little hop!!! What a mom and son!!
- I do like the chanting that they all do, but there’s just something about everyone having their moment, and their own delivery of a line that’s just so great about this scene on stage, and that’s really something I wish they had kept in the movie. 
- I actually really like the idea that their dancing is influenced by the moon. The way they all react to the moonlight, and how Victoria is at first confused as to why she’s also reacting how they are before accepting it and dancing with them just shows how important this night is to them. It also goes with the title of Act 1, “When Cats are Maddened by the Midnight Dance”, and this scene definitely makes you feel like they’re all just being controlled by the moon. Also, Grizabella dancing along with them in the corner is absolutely heartbreaking.
- Skimble... and Munku... they’re husbands... they’re doing a mating dance... fight me...
- The way that Grizabella kind of perks up curiously during the couples portion of the dance makes me think that she probably raised Mistoffelees, at least for a little bit. He arrived at the theater young, and Grizabella already had Cassandra, so she raised the two of them together, so she’s now seeing her boy dancing with a pretty queen and now I’m sad over Grizabella again.
- TUGGER YOU RESPECTFUL BOY YOU’RE WONDERFUL
- CORI YOU’RE AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL AND WE’RE ALLL HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE BECAUSE YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING GOOD IN THIS WORLD
- I can’t remember who made the post about this Ball being Cori’s first, but I absolutely see it now, because everyone’s so excited and happy to just watch him dance, and he’s so hopeful, and Old D’s just so proud of him, and oh my god my heart can’t take this I love him. 
- PROTECTOR CASS AND PROTECTOR DEMETER!!!! ALSO Protectors Plato and Socrates who won’t let anyone interrupt their little brother’s dance!!!
- I love Les Twins as Plato and Socrates, and their dancing is absolutely insane. 
- You can definitely tell that, during Victoria’s solo, Francesca had pointe shoes on, but they did a good job at blending everything together and not making it seem jarring or out of place!
- ROBBIE I LOVE YOU
- Again, the whole thing about them being controlled by the moon to an extent is really interesting, and I love how they played that part of being so overcome by the moon’s power that they just can’t help themselves. 
- I really love that they incorporated the Victoria lift from the stage production into the movie.
- I also really like that Victoria gets very overwhelmed and needs to step back from everything. Because everyone else knows what’s happening. They understand. This is her first night as a Jellicle, so everything is new and unfamiliar to her. of course, the strange power of the moon would scare her slightly. 
Memory:
- I do like how Jennifer sings “Memory”, but I just wish that she would hold out the notes for longer. It’s very choppy, and you don’t really get to immerse yourself into the emotion like you can with Elaine or Mamie’s version. 
- She does an excellent job at conveying the feeling of pain and longing that Grizabella has, as well as the pride that comes back for just a few moments at points in the song. 
- I also really like her appearance, but at the same time, I think she looks too clean. On stage, Grizabella is haggard, torn, and scarred. Her fur is matted, she’s limping, and her makeup is smeared around. Jennifer’s Grizabella looks too clean to have been on the streets and abandoned for a while. 
Beautiful Ghosts/Moments of Happiness:
- “Beautiful Ghosts” is a lovely song. It really is. it’s actually one of my favorites, but it just does not fit in with the movie at all. But something that I’ve actually just realized while watching this is that this song represents Victoria. It doesn’t fit in with the rest of the music, just like Victoria feels she doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Jellicles.
- But ignoring symbolism and all that stuff, I really don’t think this song works. As beautiful as it is, I just feel like it puts the brakes on and slows the movie. Especially with the stark contrast in style. 
- Judi Dench is a wonderful Old Deuteronomy. The confusion, but slight acceptance on her face really shows how much she wants to help Grizabella, but she can’t. 
Gus the Theater Cat:
- I love how Misto fanboys over Gus. He’s just so excited to meet his idol, and Gus just smiles and indulges him. I love how MIsto kind of copies Gus’ good luck motions. He’s just such a sweetheart. 
- There is some kind of history between Gus and Old D. The looks that they give each other are... something else. 
- oh my GOD CORI YOU’RE JUST A SWEET BABY!!!!
- The trio of kittens looks so ashamed and sad and I just want to snuggle the three of them because they deserve all the love in the world. 
- Misto being very helpful during the song is adorable, and he just wants to do his best!!
- Ian McKellan is an icon and he must be protected. 
- ALSO SKIMBLE WITH HIS TAP SHOES IN THE BACKGROUND!!!
Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat:
- “Hey Liv, do you ship skimblestraps or mistoriastraps?” “Yes”
- Munku loves his husband!!!!
- *shoves jerrie and teazer away* “move, fours, an eleven is arriving soon”
- I LOVE the excitement in this number. You can just feel how much fun everyone is having, and I sweat, every time I listen to this or watch it, I can’t stop smiling. 
- Skimble, we get it, you’re a smooth, suave boy.
- TAPPING!!! The entire beginning portion of the tap sequence is just so satisfying, and as he picks it up and it gets faster, I’m just in absolute awe of Steve McRae. 
- SIR YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MOVE YOUR SHOULDERS LIKE THAT JFC
- Plato and Socrates are really just happy to be included and I love them. 
- Munku and Skimble doing their little toe tap makes me very soft and I love those boys. 
- Steve McRae doing the spin by himself while being lifted into the air? Iconic.
Macavity:
- Okay, Taylor Swift as Bomba was really underwhelming. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to be the same, but I really just did not enjoy her Bomba at all. It’s more helpful to see her as a different character, especially since they never say her name, but still, it’s just a bit annoying that they changed her character so much.
- As Bomba’s coming down, Tugger has his hand on Munkustrap’s back while they’re all looking up. Just something I thought I’d point out. 
- I will say, the entire catnip sequence is really something else to watch. Especially Munku with a martini glass.
- Bomba and Teazer are girlfriends. That’s what I’m getting, and that’s what I’m sticking with. 
- PROTECTIVE CASS!!!!! I LOVE PROTECTIVE CASS
- EWWWW NAKEY MACAVITY NO THANK YOU BYE BYE
- I really don’t like the whole “henchcat Bomba” storyline, but I guess it works in some way?
- “We didn’t know he was gonna take Old Deut!” NO you’re not supposed to be baby! Also, GO PROTECTIVE ALONZO!!!! GOOD BOY!!!
- I do miss the Macavity/Munkustrap fight, absolutely, but I really love Skimble just. aggressively tap-dancing to take down Growltiger. 
Mr. Mistoffelees:
- I really have mixed feelings about this entire song. On one hand, I like Munkustrap singing to Misto, and everyone encouraging him, but on the other hand, I really don’t like the very uncertain and awkward Misto. However, he’s still baby, so that’s all that matters.
- Munku: “how do I make this cat fall in love with me” *gently tilts the chin of every cat he meets* “perfect”
- I love Robbie’s sweet, angelic voice so much. 
- Munku’s very confused expression throughout the song is just absolutely hilarious for some reason, and I love how done Cass looks the entire time. 
- The small moments with Tugger watching, and Tugger singing int he background just makes me really happy, and again gives off the energy that Misto and Tugger are ex-boyfriends. 
- But I really love the little Mistoria moment at the very end, when they’re dancing together. It’s just so sweet. 
- This version of the song definitely has not grown on me, and I definitely don’t enjoy it as much as the other songs, but it’s still pretty fun to listen to. 
- MUNK DANCING WITH OLD D!!!!!
- Skimble snuggling Gus. That’s all that matters.
Memory (Reprise)/Beautiful Ghosts (Reprise):
- I definitely enjoy the second version more than the first, but it still doesn’t have that same impact. She does an amazing job, but there’s just something about her version of the song that I just can't connect with it as much. 
- Munku crying is NOT okay and he needs a cuddle immediately. 
- I think it’s the fact that Grizabella didn’t approach the Jellicles that gets me. It was Victoria who brought Grizabella in, Victoria who told Grizabella to sing. It kind of wasn’t really Grizabella’s choice to compete. 
- She doesn’t hold the notes out for very long, just like with the first version, so that definitely takes something away from the performance of the song. 
- I do love how she sings lines, like “I must think of a new life”. I made a post about this, but she just spits those words out, and you can feel her anger and feel how tired and done she is with everything.
- The “touch me” line was really powerful, though, and I definitely got chills at that part. 
- The look that Grizabellla gives Cass right before the song ends, in that small pause, really hints that they have some kind of connection, and I really get the feeling that Grizabella is Cass’ mother. 
- I really don’t like that there was a reprise of “Beautiful Ghosts”. I think they should have just let Grizabella have her final big moment, and they really didn’t need that reprise. It was unnecessary and took away from the impact of “Memory”.
Journey to the Heaviside Layer/Ad-dressing of Cats:
- Of course, we all know the massive plothole with what happened to the other contestants, so I’m not even going to get into that. 
- THE MISTORIA NUZZLE
- MUNKU CRADLING GRIZABELLA’S HAND!!!! I’M SO SOFT!!!
- Misto lighting the candles and just being a confident boy with his magic. I’m so proud of my anxious baby boy. 
- I really love the setup of the final shot at the end of “Journey to the Heaviside Layer”, how there’s the chorus cats on the street level, the named/recognizable/secondary cats on the pedestal, and then the four main cats sitting on top of the lion. 
- MISTO AND MUNKU’S EXPRESSIONS DURING AD-DRESSING OF CATS ARE JUST THE ABSOLUTE BEST AND THEY’RE JUST SWEETHEARTS!!!!
- The two of them running off together right at the end, and being just so playful with each other... angels...
- Victoria and Old D having their sweet little moment together while watching Grizabella go to the Heaviside Layer is a really sweet scene, and I think a really good end to the movie. 
alright, there you have it! my 1:30 am ramblings and thoughts about the 2019 movie, bring it back around once again!!
I’ve been wanting to do a more in-depth look at my own thoughts about it since it came out, but I haven’t had the chance, but @queencurlycrown and I were talking, and she mentioned this idea to me, and I knew I had to do it.

CATS 2019 vs CATS 1998 RANT (Sorry not sorry)
(This is my opinion and youre allowed to disagree or love the remake bc live your life)
So I watched the Cats remake and I HATE IT OOOOMGGG 😂 Tbf Im heavily comparing it to the 1998 play which may or may not be unfair BUT WOW
totally misrepresents most the characters, ruins the "story", has HIGH KEY problematic parts(fat jokes? really??! IN 2019??!!), AND its fucking boring.
How do you have all that fancy cgi and manage to make the cats look, move, and act LESS like actual cats than the stage play did. WHY GO THAT ROUTE IF YOU WERENT PREPARED TO COMMIT
For all the hype of "horniness" it wasnt sexy? Everyone just jerkin about and presenting the "sex" like a brick to the face or with awkward insecurity. Like we all been there but I think we can agree its NOT SEXY? (Skimbleshanks you get a pass)
The delicate impossible languidly of the dancers in the stage play occasionally and casually groping on each other...? THAT'S sexy.
And just ALL the subtley of the story is gone. Not that the original had much story, but it was told mysteriously and paced for IMPACT. Also there were ways to make more of a plot without RUINING THE BEST PARTS
Mistoffelees what have they done to you?! First the movie just reveals who he is right of the bat, which ok fine, whatever. It was damn magical in the stage play the way you have no idea until his big scene. But whatever.
BUT THEN THEY MAKE HIM A WIMP?! FUCK OFFF! The best part about his character was that, despite appearances, he WASNT a wimp. That he has this bitch boy personality but also KNOWS HE'S GREAT
That he's someone you notice the whole show and seems undeservedly self-important and cocky but then TURNS IT OUT and saves the day bc SURPRISE he's MAGIC!! And his entire smug attitude leading up makes 100% sense
and seeing him glowing at being recognized and getting to show off and also his affection and silliness, where earlier in the plot comes off more like sucking up, is revealed to be genuine and heartfelt.
that he's been said to be an adolescent cat is adorable! Makes his cocky, try-hard, yet loving and eager character that much more relatable and true to how young people are a bit messy due to still figuring themselves out
and just the whole idea that he's small and clever and downplays his true powers to appear unassuming while at the same time being fully aware of what he's capable of - is such a nod to him being a magician and the illusions required for the "tricks"
ABSOLUTELY MOVED BY WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COMPLEX CHARACTER HE IS
Remake took that and said NOPE now he's a wet noodle with no confidence and the other cats basically have to beg him to save the day
In the original he COULDNT WAIT to save the day. He was ready to jump in for his moment anytime and does in fact jump the gun a few times, resulting in cringe for him, and when he finally lands it the SATISFACTION of it all is contagious.
Remake decided that they were gonna tell the same cliche story they always do oh boo hoo insecure character gets to save the day bc people believe in him and look he's the love interest now bc we want to make sure everyone knows main characters are always hetero and are required to fall in love and the nerd always gets the girl (no shade to anyone who enjoys that narrative, it's valid, but it's not the ONLY narrative and Im TIRED)
Personally offended they made Mistoffelees main character and love interest. Mistoffelees is a wild card chaotic side character HOW DARE THEY ROB HIM
Munkustrap should have been the love interest?! He's clearly the "main character" or "leader" of the Cats musical?? And there was no big fight scene between Munkustrap and Macavity?! Im just.... how do you see a story, see the two biggest climaxes of the show, and totally remove one and turn the other one into a soggy paper towel
IF NOTHING ELSE the Cats remake should have been an epic fight between Munkustrap and Macavity, and Mistoffelees razzle dazzling in the end with a spectacular display of magic. YOU COULD MAKE EVEYTHING ELSE TERRIBLE and those two scenes would save the whole movie. How... how was that missed?
Alright, Ok, Im done. I think that's the most of what I was horrified by. And there are some pretty great critics out there about the heinous crimes committed against other characters which I agree with
If you love the broadway musical Cats and havent seen the remake yet, well.... remember when they made an Avatar the Last Airbender movie? Yeah. It's like that.
Apparently the sets were all real and not cgi so that's impressive tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess I never properly introduced you guys to Sekhmet (if you’ve seen some of @uppastthejelliclemoon’s posts involving her and a Hestia you have a glance at her) so I’ll give you an intorduction and a little insite as to why the minor display of affection is a huge thing for her.
So this is Sekhmet:

She is the first born daughter of Macavity and Athena (another OC of mine). She has magic, which is a prime reason Macavity allowed her to live she’d later learn, it is golden in color and she specializes in disappearing and teleporting as well as being a very clever actress. She was trained harshly by Macavity from the time she was very young to control her magic and use it to do all mannor of things. When she was four months old and learning to disappear she failed to produce results to Macavity’s standards so he lashed out and clawed her shoulder leaving a nasty scar under her fur. When she was around a year old her younger brother Ares was born, another magical kit that Macavity began to train like Sekhmet. Despite the harsh methods of their father Sekhmet did look after Ares and the two were fairly close. As they grew older they grew more and more emotionally distant. When Sekhmet was two her mother gave birth to another female kit, Sekhmet was secretly excited to have another younger sibling but her joy was very short lived when Macavity ran both Athena and the newborn kit off simply because the kitten wasn’t magic. A little later Athena and the kitten came back hoping to be taken back into the Hidden Paw but Macavity, even more daranged and power driven, killed them both without even an ounce of remorse. After her mother and younger sister were killed Sekmhet fell victim to even more of her father’s brutal training, she has many small scars under her fur from him lashing out during magic training and with each one she grew more and more closed off herself.
Around the time Sekhmet was three she went to the junkyard and tried to lure Hestia outside of its protective spell to injure the kitten and get into the junkyard. During their fight Hestia magnates to break past Sekhmet’s many years worth of walls and get the older queen to admit she hated her life and that she was terrified to end up like her father. Hestia offered her help and Sekmhet agreed to think about the offer before returning to Macavity reporting she’d failed her mission, that made her father extremely angry and he lashed out at her clawing her ear. That was the final straw for Sekhmet and she soon returned to the junkyard allowing Hestia to help her get away from her father.
Hestia introduced Sekhmet to Munkustrap, Demeter, Tugger and Misto first and the meeting didn’t go as planned. Upon finding out Sekhmet was Macavity’s kitten the adults all went into protective mode, Tugger hissed at Sekhmet while pulling Hestia away and Misto summoned his own magic intimidatingly, Sekmhet was scared and she nearly ran away but forced herself to stay, in her scared state her magic began to express the fear she couldn’t outwardly show by causing a breeze to blow through the area and shift her fur enough for Tugger to see a familiar set of scars on her shoulder. Hestia quickly stepped in and defended the older queen and slowly the adults came around.
After moving into the junkyard for good Sekmhet was quickly adopted by Bomba, the red queen understood exactly what Sekhmet had been through and it gave them a connection Sekhmet didn’t share with the other Jellicles. Hestia and Bomba quickly became the only cats Sekhmet opened up a bit more too for a long time.
After getting a little more settled in Sekhmet was trying to get better at showing her emotions to more than Hestia or Bomba and so when she and Tugger sat together watching Hestia, Sekhmet saw the unbridled love and support for Hestia in the tom’s eyes she knew she wanted to show Tugger how greatful she was to him for making sure Hestia was raised better than herself. And so that day Sekmhet allowed herself to finally open up to someone new as she cuddled herself close to Tugger’s side and let him hold her. Not too much longer down the line Sekhmet surprises Tugger yet again by calling him ‘Dad’ out of the blue like it was just as normal as calling Bomba ‘Mom’. Tugger would happily admit that he cried a little (a lot) that day because it meant that Sekhmet had finally cut all her attachment to Macavity for good, Misto felt a little jealous of this but a few days later that’s remedied when Sekhmet lovingly calls him her ‘step papa’ and makes the magical tom cry in joy.
All these little things, showing affection and emotion, are huge things for Sekhmet because she came from a very abusive and emotionally barren upbringing. Think of a cat rescued from an abusive home, it doesn’t trust anyone and it’s always scared and some times lashes out because it doesn’t know that others are trying to help and love them. That’s exactly Sekhmet for probably about a year after Hestia meets her.
So that was my OC Sekhmet! I’ve actually had a lot of fun growing her from a simple OC that was emotionally distant and evil into this amazing queen that’s over come her abusive upbringing with the help of her little sister and a new family.

Susan Jane Tanner. I mean look at her face in this photo and tell me she's not the perfect Jellylorum

What is your wlw ship with this queen?
I have strong Jelly/Jenny feels, but I love deep meaningful platonic relationships as much as I do romantic/intimate ones and I tend to view the two of them as platonic. I also have a backstory for Jelly in my hc where she had a mate she loved with her whole heart and when they died it broke Jelly's heart and now she finds herself just not having romantic feelings for anyone anymore, so tbh I don't really officially ship her with anyone
Your favorite moment of this queen in the musical?
The end of the Macavity fight, specifically in the 98 version, where she fearlessly joins in with the rest of the tribe to defend Munk and Alonzo. Those two good swipes she gets in right before he runs up onto the car? Oh fuck yes. Protect me mama 💙💙💙
As for more universally, I adore how sweet and caring she is with Gus during his song, and I always love watching her dancing and singing with Demeter and Bomba during Gumbie Cat. Especially since most versions depict her as rather older than those two, and come on its Bomba and Demeter, so it's like "okay here's these two younger queens that know how to strut their stuff, watch me strut my own stuff right next to them and never miss a beat"

I would love to hear more about Ruzzilo, Beatrice, and Theophilus, too, if you're okay with sharing!
I’d love to! I don’t have great refs for them currently, but I’ll update with refs in the future when I get the chance to make them.
I’m also going to try and keep all of these a little briefer since they aren't my main oc (but still important to me!)
Ruzzilo:
Ruzzilo is Domoria’s long lost twin brother. When she was adopted from the pet store, he ran away, and somehow ended up working as a low level henchman for Macavity. He’s considered expendable, so he’s practically a living weapon. His jobs are to keep shady allies in line, fight on behalf of Macavity when needed, and work for respected allies from time to time. 
One of these allies is a rich queen named Bastet ( @your-missing-period). She despises strays and the Jellicles, and Ruzzilo is basically a bodyguard of sorts. Their relationship is comical since they never see eye to eye, due to being raised with very different lifestyles, but Bastet can’t afford to lose him. A small witchy black cat named Sugar Spice ( @jelliclegifs) works for Bastet as well, and Ruzzilo hates her and her ghost friend Oblivion ( @fandomsandmore394). 
Ruzzilo hates Sugar because of his deep loathing for magic. It is also the only thing he fears. He’s worked for Macavity far too long and has seen the extent of his powers. Macavity’s magic is also how he lost his left ear.
Personality-wise, Ruzzilo is the direct opposite of Domoria. Where she is open and optimistic, Ruzzilo is cold and seemingly apathetic. 3 personality traits I'd use for him are 
Resourceful
Tough
Cynical
He has spent his life building a reputation to scare others away from him. It makes living as a stray easier; he can find food and shelter more secluded since everyone avoids him. He has never lost a fight, and since he will fight to the death need be, the day he loses is the day he dies. 
That’s not to say he is completely incapable of caring for anyone. When he does care about someone, he is extremely loyal and protective. He also has a sharp wit and understanding nature, since he knows he’s probably committed worse atrocities. Currently, his only friend that he cares about is Macavity’s son Alexei ( @star-freckled-kitten). They are one hell of a disaster duo.
Beatrice:
The easiest way to describe Beatrice is lawful good. She’s a very quiet queen that few have ever heard speak. She actually only ever speaks when someone else speaks to her first, due to both shyness and only ever wanting to engage in deep conversation, not small talk. However, if/when you do talk to her, you will find she is very sage. She gives the best advice and is incredibly unbiased and understanding. Her mind is beyond her age. 
However, very few actually talk to her. She is tentative acquaintances with Jemima and Victoria, and has a crush on a much more outgoing queen named Nouvel ( @fandomsandmore394). But that's about it so far- at least for her living friends.
Beatrice is a medium and can speak to essentially what are the ghosts of the junkyard, otherwise known as shadow cats. These are the cats that didn't quite make it to the Heaviside layer. To Beatrice, her powers are both a blessing and a curse. Her best friend is the aforementioned Oblivion, and she has close connections with other shadow cats as well. But not all of the shadow cats are kind. Some are restless spirits, more angry than rational. This can get extremely overwhelming for Beatrice, who strives to help as many shadow cats find peace and move on past this world as she can.
3 personality traits I use for her are:

Wise
She also has a deep love for nature, since its quiet, unlike the junkyard.
Theophilus:
Theophilus, or Theo for short, is my newest oc. I’m still unsure of all the details on him, and hopefully I can develop him more over time.
Theo is the definition of a scaredy-cat. Literally everything alarms him at first, from pollicles to butterflies. He’s small and timid, so many even mistake him for a kitten at first! In actuality, he’s a young adult and smarter than most. 
If you need information on anyone or anything, Theo is probably the best person to go to. He knows everything about the Jellicle tribe, both current information and the history. He also is extremely intelligent and logical. The only thing holding him back from sharing this knowledge frequently is his own fear. 
As always, three traits I’d use for him are
Jumpy
Intelligent
Cautious
Since he’s new and also not very outgoing, he doesn't have any friends yet. However, as a friend, he’d be very kind and rational, perhaps just a little clingy from time to time. He’s kind of like a younger brother, even though he’s probably smarter than you. Theo also likes to share random trivia or fun facts from time to time; it’s practically his way of saying “I like being around you and want to share things I find cool with you because you're important to me”. 
I also have two (mostly) NPCs, Sophronia and Gehenna. Sophronia is a mostly blind cat who lives in the local opera house, but breaks out to join the Jellicles. Gehenna is extremely motherly, but she lost her two kittens a few months before joining the tribe. She still wants a family though, and she reminds me a lot of Jane Seymour (SIX).

Okay, so just got back from seeing Cats and it...wasn’t...that...bad...?
Spoilers below. This will be long.
When you go to see this, you can’t really compare it to the musical because the story is actually quiet different. It is truly a new take on the idea. I know some people are going to go in wanting to hate it but I liked it well enough. I will actually be seeing this again with Knitwitty and Windpurr on Sunday and may add more thoughts later but lets start with two things right off the bat: 1) Munkustrap is almost perfect, I mean, I could find no issue with this performance of my favorite silver tabby. Bravo Robbie Fairchild! 2) Female Deuteronomy was fantastic and not weird. Yays!
Okay, the real big issue I had: Tugger. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few times he was in character. There is this part during Bustopher Jones where he pours champagne into Bustopher’s mouth, then when he’s done Bustopher says ‘Thanks Tugger’ and yeah, that felt right. But the real issue,they did not give him sex appeal and his singing left something to be desired. It felt more like he had ADHD, which would work if he was a kitten. But as the Character he is supposed to be...not so much. His part of the Ball was odd and kinda forced. Worst of all, there was little to no interaction between Tugger and Mistoffelees. Zilch, zip, zero. He didn’t sing the song, he wasn’t even around till the end. No friendship or anything hinted at. 
Leading into that: Mistoffelees. I really enjoyed this portrayal. He was adorkable and shy, really a sweetheart that I wanted to adopt. However he did lack the cheekiness that the musical and the DVD version had as well as very low in self confidence. The only thing that really bothered me was, well, he didn’t dance. There was no conjuring turn, no amazing ballet moves, non of that at all short of Ball moment. I could go on, but I want to wait till I re-watch it to make my final judgement. 
Gus the Theater Cat: Perfect. Wonderful. Loved it. No complaints with Ian McKellen.    
Also, Growltiger was unexpected and I was happy to see him.
Now, for a performance I dreaded but hoped wouldn’t ruin the film: Rebel Wilson as Jennyanydots. Oh, boy...to much to list so I’ll stick to the big things. First off, many of her moments (as always) felt forced and out of place. Yes, the crazy cat lady moment was funny and her interaction with Bustopher wasn’t bad. Second, well, she didn’t feel like Jenny. At all. While it didn’t ruin the film I felt dissatisfied with what should have been a large role. She also didn’t tap dance.
Skimbleshanks: Wonderful performance, had the energy and fun as always. They gave him the tap dancing parts and it worked really well. 
Old Deuteronomy: A pleasant surprise. I usually find myself disappointed when they switch genders on such an important character but this worked very well and Judi Dench made it a treat to see.
Macavity: Loved the crazy eyes, they really stood out and grabbed your attention. I really enjoyed his story in this retelling. At least most of the time. Later on he became kinda cheesy and not a threatening. Biggest issue was THERE WAS NO FIGHT SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fight scene was the big heart pounding epic score portion of Act ll and THEY DIDN’T HAVE IT!!!!!!!!! 
Also, Bombalurina worked for Macavity? As did Mungojerrie and Rumpleeazer? To be honest, the hardest thing was trying to figure out who all the non song cats were. Its harder without the wigs, they all blend together.   
Grizabella, as always was a beautiful sad part that chocked me up. 
And as I stated in the beginning of the post, Munkustrap was the best part of this movie and I loved every moment he was on screen. He was the one I was most concerned about and I was glad that I didn’t have to worry at all! 
Oh yeah, Victoria. Not a bad portrayal of the character. She even did some ballet which made me smile. And I enjoyed the cute little thing she and Misto had. All in all, I felt like they turned her a tiny bit into a Mary Sue but that could also be because they gave her all of Jemima’s singing parts.
.....was Jemima even in the movie? Actually, was Jellylorum or Demeter there either? Pouncival? Tumblebrutus? I might have seen Alonzo maybe. Cassandra? Etcetera?
So hard to tell who is who with the sleek fur design. -_-:
I could go on but really the thing that stood out more then anything was the lack of dancing. I mean, there was dancing, but it wasn’t the jazz/ballet that made the Jellicles the Jellicles. There was some break dancing that was fine but a lot of it was more interpretive dance and kinda...boring. Seeing the cast dance has always got me energized and wanting to dance along before (bad dancing but still) however, that didn’t happen with this film. 
The fiance’ was disappointed that they didn’t have the Rumpus Cat story. HE love’s  the Peke’s and the Pollicles.

ALSO AN ANON ASKED FOR SOME OF BONNIES RELATIONSHIPS
Tugger is kinda scared of this small fluffy queen because she always knows more then she is letting on and sometimes even mentions things that she shouldn't know by accident and he is kinda scared of her.
Bonnie and the chaos twins should not mix because bonnie will let them steal and she is also insanely reckless when she wants to be. She is like an older sister figure to them who lets them get away with way too much because she has done some of the things they want to. She trusts them way too much. Also she made a mistake of teaching teazer how to use a grappling hook.
There is a club that consists of cori tanto misto jem and bonnie that is the magic club and they meet up to like practice magic and bonnie gets to teach about what she knows from traveling around the world. It is a lot of fun.
Bonnie’s best friend is Cassandra. In my mind cass is refined history and bonnie is chaotic history. When they meet bonnie fangirls a little over cass because she has seen her a lot in memories that she has witnessed. Cass is flattered and thinks that she is sweet. They bond at first about talking about history but soon they just become best friends. They go to France together and have fancy coffee and break into the catacombs, they spill tea together and have like deep talks and its hard to explain but it just feels like such an iconic friendship that i cannot put it into words. 
One of her other best friends is @ask-jemmie oc Titanic who is basically her father figure. They are just iconic and i love their friendship so much. I’m not going into the friendships more because I’m tired and I want Cinder to talk about Titanic before I give everything away ;)
As it turns out, bonnie’s mom lucy, was skimbles older sister. Through bonnie kinda using her power, remembering old stories that her mom used to tell her, and the fact that she looks and sounds like both her mom and skimble, it was pretty easy to tell that the two were related. Bonnie has always wanted to meet her family, she is a history lover so of course, she wants to meet who she is related to. She would have done it much earlier but she was terrified of meeting him because it has always been her and mom when it came to family. She has one or 2 other close friends and she has her crew for work but she has always been alone and has had to fend for herself a good amount of the time. It’s overwhelming to find out that you a lot more people who care about you than you thought. Skimble welcomes her into the family with open arms, he is happy to have a piece of his sister back and he is so excited to meet his niece. They end up becoming really close. Sometimes she joins him on the train so they can talk about family and their respective adventures. Its really nice for them because at first they get closure about lucy and then they both get a chance to learn about each other and have someone else who cares.
well, when bonnie and alonzo met it was like something went off in their heads and it was almost magical. The second they met eyes could tell that the other was important, it was hatred at first sight. Alonzo thinks she is too naive and that she is easily manipulated and just thinks she is on the more annoying side. Bonnie thinks he is too vain and she thinks that he thinks he is better than her, which is kinda true cause bonnibel is a mess, and she hates that he is so closed off and she knows that it’s going to end with him being alone. Bonnie tried not to fight with him when they first met but he somehow pushed every single one of her buttons and Alonzo thought it was kinda fun to make her mad because it happens so rarely. Over time they know each other so well because they start going to the other to rant because they know that they will be judged regardless. Alonzo has a hard time showing affection and those type of emotions and bonnie has a hard time showing her anger and sadness and they are both stubborn as all hell. They are basically 2 sides of the same coin and end up going from enemies to reluctant frenemies to frenemies to friends who you think hate each other but actually respect the other so much to possibly even lovers.
NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE OT3!! THIS RELATIONSHIP BRINGS ME SO MUCH JOY AND I KNOW I AM NOT DOING IT JUSTICE BUT I WILL TRY MY BEST!! THE RELATIONSHIP IS BONNIE MUNK AND DEMETER!! I just love their dynamic so much. Bonnie and Munk are both workaholics who give their all to who they care about and Bonnie and Demeter are these strong women who has been through horrible things but came out on the other side happier and they both have this longing to be free and they both have so much love in their hearts. One of the big moments of bonnies life is that she was in a relationship where she and the other person basically idolized each other and it just ended up exploding in their faces. What I love about the three of them is that they are come from 3 entirely different backgrounds and they have the capability to fight and they do, but what makes me love their dynamic so much is that they can talk about it and get through it together. Munk comes from the tribe and is Old Doots son and has always had a big family and the jellicles behind him. Demeter has her past with macavity and has had a community turn its back on her and a community who has lifted her up and she knows how much it can hurt when you are on your own. Bonnie is characterized by the fact that she has mostly been alone, even though she has friends, she has always been more of a lone wolf with a few other that she is close with. All 3 of them balance the others out and they teach each other how to work together and trust more or less. Demeter is very punctual, she likes to get to places on time and is usually early. Munk tried his best but there are times where he has to help pounce who got stuck in a bucket again. And Bonnie has never been on time in her life. They all help each other with their trauma and help each other grow. Bonnie meets dem and can just sees so much strength in dem and she can't help but admire her so much and want to learn more about her. Dem as just has this presence about her that makes bonnie feel calmer. Her and dem both love looking at the stars. Demeter loves her undying optimism and her ability to always bring a smile to her face. Bonnie can tell how stressed munk can get just by looking at him and she completely understands it, and she just sees how dedicated he is to his family and can’t help but fall for him too. He loves how caring she is and her horrible jokes and her passion. Instead of talking to them she is like "im gonna hide my feelings deep down because i dont want to hurt them and i would rather suffer in silence and have them be happy” because she is an idiot and they dont say anything to her because they don’t want to scare her off and they think that she doesnt like them back. long story made a bit less long, after like 3 months of pining they finally crack and tell bonnie how they feel and all three of them get together. It also helps that everyone has been suffering while watching them pine. I CAN TALK ABOUT THEM FOR HOURS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!
