▪︎Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you."

▪︎Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?"

▪︎It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
came out one day to the people, and a man came to him and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour be?’ He said: ‘The one who is asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking. But I will tell you of its portents. When the slave woman gives birth to her mistress, that is one of its portents. When the barefoot and naked become leaders of the people, that is one of its portents. When shepherds compete in constructing buildings, that is one of its portents. (The Hour) is one of five (things) which no one knows except Allah.’ Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited the words: “Verily, Allah, with Him (alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. (to the end of the Verse).” [31: 34]

▪︎Zainab bint Jahsh reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) got up from sleep saying: There is no being worthy of worship except Allah; there is a destruction in store for Arabia because of turmoil which is at hand, the barrier of Gog and Magog has opened so much. And Sufyan made a sign of ten with the help of his hand (in order to indicate the width of the gap) and I said: Allah's Messenger, would we be perished in spite of the fact that there would be good people amongst us? Thereupon he said: Of course, but only when the evil predominates.

▪︎the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidah will decide matters.’ It was said: ‘Who are the Ruwaibidah?’ He said: ‘Vile and base men who control the affairs of the people.’”

THE FEMALE COMPANIONS OF THE PROPHET (PBUH): Part 17
HAMNA BINT JAHSH (radhiallahu anha)
Hz. Hamna was the daughter of Umayma bint Abdulmuttalib, the paternal aunt of the Prophet. She was also the sister of Zaynab bint Jahsh, one of the wives of the Prophet. Thus, she was the sister-in-law of the Prophet. She became a Muslim in the first years of Islam. She was loyal to the Prophet with her heart. She was married to Mus’ab bin Umayr, one of the great Companions. They led a happy life.
Hz. Mus’ab took part in the battle of Uhud and fought heroically.
The Muslims were about to gain a big victory but when the archers located by the Messenger of Allah left their places, the course of the battle changed. The Muslims were defeated. It was also rumored that the Messenger of Allah was martyred.
When the female Companions who were in Madinah heard this, they ran to the battlefront. Hamna bint Jahsh, the wife of Mus’ab bin Umayr, was also among them. When they heard that the Messenger of Allah was alive, they became very happy.
However, Hz. Mus’ab was martyred. In addition, Hz. Hamna’s brother Abdullah bin Jahsh and her maternal uncle Hz. Hamza was also martyred. The Prophet wanted to give this news to Hamna himself. When Hamna came over to him, he said,
“O Hamna! Show patience and seek reward from Allah!”
Hamna said,
“O Messenger of Allah! For whom shall I show patience?”
The Prophet said,
“For your maternal uncle Hamza.”
Hz. Hamna was a woman who believed in qadar. She said,
“We are slaves of Allah and we will return to Him. May Allah show him mercy and forgive him! May Allah give him glad tidings and rejoice him with the reward of martyrdom!”
The Prophet said,
“O Hamna! Show patience and seek reward from Allah!”
Hamna said,
“O Messenger of Allah! For whom shall I show patience?”
The Prophet said,
“For your brother.”
Hz. Hamna said in patience and resoluteness,
“We are slaves of Allah and we will return to Him. May Allah show him mercy and forgive him! May Allah give him glad tidings and rejoice him with the reward of martyrdom!”
The Prophet said,
"O Hamna! Show patience and seek reward from Allah!”
Hamna said in suspense,
“O Messenger of Allah! For whom shall I show patience?”
The Prophet said,
“For Mus’ab bin Umayr.”
Hz. Hamna, who had not lost her patience and resoluteness up to that time, changed suddenly. She thought about her children and started to cry by saying,
Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,
“There is no doubt that a man has a different place in the eye of his wife. Hamna showed patience and resoluteness when she heard about the death of her maternal uncle and brother but she could not maintain her resoluteness when she heard the death of her husband.”( Sirah, 3: 104. )
Hz. Hamna could not show the same patience for her husband but she did not oppose qadar. She calmed down with the prayer and consolation of the Messenger of Allah.
Hamnah later married Talha bin Ubaydullah, one of the ten Companions who were given the good news that they would go to Paradise. They led a happy life. They had two children called Muhammad and Imran.

when some Muslim men today speak of what they want in a wife they’re quick to say “oh she has to be a submissive breeding machine that is unconditionally and irrevocably in love with me” like buddy let me introduce you to the Prophet Muhammad and HIS WIVES (Bc the prophet didn’t have an ego and was comfortable in his own masculinity! )
the Prophets first wife was older and richer than him. She was a business woman in her own right who ran her own commercial dealings across the region, she’s also the one who made the first move (defying gender roles was a thing for her tbh) and PROPOSED to the prophet. She was the first convert to Islam and single-handedly funded the Muslim Ummah in its earlier days. The Prophet and her were the IT couple if u ask me tbh!!!
Then we have Sawda Bint Zamah, again an older woman. She’s pretty underrated ngl, she was a good storyteller who liked to engage with others through her tales (her favourites included the times she spent in Abyssinia). Sawda was also known for her humor, she could make the prophet laugh like NO other (I’ll make a separate post about this). Sawda also didn’t mind if she was the butt of the joke either and remained a very likeable and outgoing lady.
And Ofc we cannot go without mentioning our queen Aisha (who was 19 not 9 I just wanted to get that outta the way). She was known for her assertive temperament, mischief and intelligence. She was also graced w an eidetic memory, she narrated a lot of hadiths and was one of the most distinguished and prolific scholars of her time. She was a stateswoman, jurist, mufti and military general all in one. Aisha rly brought the girlboss trend back after Khadijah.
Then we have Hafsah, whos name means little lioness. This rly suits her bc she was the daughter of Umar Ibn Al Khattab, she inherited her fathers personality basically. She was very inquisitive and much like Aisha, she was a famous scholar. Hafsah always stood her ground and enjoyed debating and arguing w the Prophet. Another thing that she’s known for is for being the custodian of the Quran, she’s also likely the reason why it’s so perfectly preserved.
After that we have Zaynab Bing Khuzaymah, not much is known Abt this queen and tbh it makes me rly sad … she also died 2 years after her marriage to the prophet. One poet immortalised her as “The mother of the poor” due to how often she gave to charity, she was basically a comrade to those destitute and needy folks and tbh we stan her for that.
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE UMM SALAMA — She was known for being wise, superbly eloquent and ran circles w the men of her time bc of how cool she was. She also outsmarted them w her wits whenever they tried to belittle her. She was a sharp political analyst, accompanied the prophet on all his military expeditions and served as his adviser. She was like the less feisty and more stoic version of Aisha ..
Then we have another Zaynab but this Zaynab is the daughter of Jahsh. She was known for being truthful, deliberate and oh so purposeful. Zaynab did like to bicker w her co wives and poke their nerves, but I mean she was human. I’d like to imagine she also had a sarcastic flair to her (which I mean if u read the hadiths it’s pretty evident). She was also a small business girlboss bc after the prophets death she started making arts and crafts.
We have now come to Umm Habiba. Now Umm Habiba came from an aristocratic family (she was the daughter of Abu Sufyan and Hind for ffs) and she hated it !! She was a well known diplomat and politics were never her cup of tea but if were being fair she did throw shade sometimes at ppl she didn’t like that much. She was also very generous and liked to spoil people with gifts, such as her maid servant. Umm Habiba always went against the grain and that’s cool.
Now we have Safiya Bint Huyyay. I rly don’t like how we portray her as the soft one and like yeah she was, she was very emotional and liked to cry a lot but she was also resilient and faced ppl coldly for tormenting her bc of her Jewish ancestry. She was a warrior and tight w Uthman bc after his house was seiged she made a passage from his home to hers so she could supply his family with food and water.
Introducing Juwayriyah Bint Al Harith, she was known for her beauty and skills in poetry, she was also extremely loyal to her people. Another thing that highlights her personality is how she grew up w all the refinements and graces of a princess yet she was still down-to-earth. She also demanded her rights and didn’t stand for being treated differently just bc she was Jewish, an example can be found when Umar wanted to give her less money than her co-wives and she was having none of it.
Finally, we have Maymunah Bint Al Harith. I’d like to think of her as the most chill and drama free, she also saught the prophets hand in marriage first!! Maymunah would also take loans and one time she borrowed a large sum of money and someone asked her “girl how will u pay it back” so she responded “ chill Allah will pay off my debt” so yeah that gives u a hint of her relax-ness.
Sooooo we can see that all these wives had personalities that would be considerable undesirable in this day and age by Muslim men but the prophet didn’t mind and walked the aisle w them anyway. My point is, Muslim women aren’t passive. They aren’t submissive. They aren’t obedient. They don’t have to suck up to your desires. Oh and another thing!!
They should follow the example of the Umm Al Mumineen.

Ten Types of Modesty حیا
Ibn-ul Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) mentioned in his book Madarij us Saalikeen Vol. 2 Pg. 267 “Al Hayaa’ (i.e. modesty) is categorized into ten types:
1. The modesty of Shame: This is similar to the modesty of Adam (Alaihis salam) when he fled in paradise after eating from the forbidden tree. Allah asked him “Are you fleeing form me O Adam because of your sin?” He said: “No my lord! Rather it is out of shame that I flee from you!”
2. The modesty that results in you realizing your shortcomings such as; the modesty of the angels, those who praise Allah day and night and never enervate. On the Day of Judgment they will say Subhanaka! (i.e. Glory be to You!) we did not worship You as You deserved to be worshiped.”
3. The modesty of Magnification: This modesty is a result of knowledge. The extent of knowledge the slave has of his Lord, will determine how modest or shy of Him he/she is.
4. The modesty of Generosity: This is similar to the modesty of the Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wa salam) with those people he invited to the walimah (i.e. marriage banquet) of Zaynab Bint Jahsh (Radiyallahu anha)and they stayed with him longer than necessary, so he stood up and walked away without saying to them “Leave!”.
5. The modesty of Embarrassment: This is similar to the modesty of Ali Ibn Talib (Radiyallahu anhu)when he was too embarrassed to ask the Prophet himself about the pre-seminal discharge he was experiencing, because he was married to his daughter.
6. The modesty of Low self-worth: This is similar to the modesty of the slave in front of his lord when he asks Him for his needs, knowing that he doesn’t deserve it. In a narration of Bani Israel Musa (Alaihis salam) said: “O lord, a need or desire of this life arises and I am too modest to ask You for it O lord!” So Allah responded to him by saying: “Ask me for what whatever you like, whether it is the salt for your dough or the fodder for your herd!” And it is possible that this is because of two things:
7. The modesty of Love: This is the modesty of the one who loves another, and when he thinks in his heart of the one he loves during his absence, his modesty for him is greater than what he feels for him in his presence and he doesn’t even know why. There is no doubt that the love of a person has a stronger and more magnificent authority over the individual than the authority of the one who conquers the body physically. And because of this, kings and elite authority wonder in amazement about creation and how they are conquered because of the love they have for someone greater than they are conquered by power and physical authority. We asked Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyah (Rahimahullah) about this issue, and I mentioned this to him and he just smiled and didn’t say anything.
8. The modesty of Servitude: This is the type of modesty that is mixed with love and fear while witnessing that there is no perfection in his worship or servitude to the One he worships. And the slave acknowledges that his Lord is greater and more opulent than what he is offering of worship, so his servitude to Allah causes him to be modest of Him, and there is no way around this.
9. The modesty of honor and dignity: The modesty of the noble and prestigious soul. if he does something that is beneath his caliber, either by exerting himself or doing some random act of good, he is modest despite what he has exerted of himself with a type of modesty that is honorable and dignified, and there are two reasons for this:
10. The modesty of an individual regarding himself: This is the modesty of the noble, honorable and dignified individual due to him being pleased with the fact that he has some shortcomings. He prostrates himself out of modesty as if he has two personalities. He is modest with one regarding the other and this is the most complete form of modesty. If the slave is modest regarding himself then he is more likely to be modest in front of others

The Life of The Prophet Muhammad(pbuh): The Conquest of Makkah and Afterwards
The Prophet Keeps Away From His Wives For a Month
In the 9th year of the Migration, the light of Islam covered the whole Arabian Peninsula with its magnificence. The Messenger of God had many material things. The wealth of the Islamic state increased and the financial situation of the Muslims improved.
Despite all kinds of material opportunities, the Messenger of God continued to lead a plain and modest life; he did not have any luxurious or wasteful things.
However, due to the inclination to the jewels and worldly goods inherent in the nature of women, the wives of the Prophet wanted their share of clothes and jewels from the wealth of the world. Therefore, they sometimes said to the Prophet, “We also want some jewels like the other women.” Then, they told the Prophet what they wanted.
However, the Prophet wanted his wives to lead a plain life like his life and show consent to it. Therefore, he did not give them what they wanted. He also felt disturbed by their requests like that.
The Prophet had a custom. After the afternoon prayer, he visited all of his wives asked about their health and determined their needs. In the evening, all of his wives gathered in the room of the woman who was going to be with the Prophet that night and the Prophet talked to them there. After that, everybody went to their own room.
During these usual visits, the wives of the Prophet treated him to the food or drinks that they had.
Once, somebody gave Zaynab bint Jahsh a leather bag full of honey. Whenever the Prophet visited Zaynab, she treated him to the sherbet she made of that honey that the Prophet liked very much. Therefore, the Prophet stayed with Zaynab longer than usual.
Aisha noticed this and wondered why the Prophet stayed with Zaynab longer than usual. She found out through her female slave that he stayed there longer due to the sherbet made of honey.
The Instruction of Hazrat Aisha
There was a competition between Hazrat Aisha and Hazrat Zaynab; due to this competition, the wives of the Prophet were divided into two groups.  Sawda, Safiyya and Hafsa (may God be pleased with them) supported Aisha; Umm Salama, Umm Habiba, Maymuna and Juwayriyah (may God be pleased with them) supported  Zaynab bint Jahsh.
Aisha felt grievous and jealous because the Messenger of God stayed in Zaynab’s room longer. She gathered the wives of the Prophet that supported her and said to them,
“When the Messenger of God comes to any of our room, we will ask him, ‘O Messenger of God! Have you eaten maghafir?’ The Messenger of God will say, ‘No’. Then, we will say, ‘What is this smell then?’ He will say, ‘Zaynab gave me honey sherbet.’ Then, we will say, ‘It means that honey was produced by bees that collected nectar from urfut tree’.”
Maghafir is the plural of “maghfur”. Maghfur is sticky and sweet gum from the urfut tree; it has an unpleasant smell.
The Messenger of God did not like this smell; he felt disturbed by it. Aisha knew about it. That is why, she gave them an instruction like that.
Once the Prophet was entering Hafsa’s room; she asked, “O Messenger of God! Have you eaten maghafir?”
The Prophet said, “No!”
Hafsa said, “What is this smell then?”
The Prophet said, “I drank honey sherbet in Zaynab bint Jahsh’s house.”
Then, Hafsa said, “It means that honey was produced by bees that collected nectar from urfut tree.”
Thereupon, the Messenger of God said, “I will not drink it again.” And he vowed that he would never drink it. Then he said, “I have vowed. Never tell about it to anyone (Aisha or anybody else).”
Thus, the Prophet vowedthat he would not have honey, which is halal (permissible), because he wanted to rejoice his wives and he and to prevent the competition caused by jealousy among his wives from causing a negative effect on the order of his family.
He asked Hafsa to keep it secret along with some other things he told her. He made her promise not to tell anyone about them.
When the Prophet vowed that he would not have honey from then on, the following verse was sent down:
“O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which God has made lawful to thee?, Thou seekest to please thy consorts? But God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Hafsa did not keep those secrets very long; she told Aisha about it. Then, the other wives of the Prophet knew about it.
God Almighty informed His Prophet through revelation that the secret that he wanted to be kept was disclosed: “When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another) and God made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, ‘Who told thee this?’ He said, ‘He told me who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things).’”
Thereupon, the Messenger of God reproached Hafsa. Aisha supported her. Altogether, they requested some things about the worldly life.
The Prophet felt grievous about the situation and he felt disturbed by the fact that his wives were jealous of one another.
Thereupon, he vowed that he would keep away from his wives for a month in order to show them that the worldly life was unimportant for him, to teach them a lesson, to decrease the jealousy among them and to measure their love of and loyalty to him. After this vow, he started to live in the arbor called Mashraba.
This incident is called “the Incident of I’la”. “I’la” lexically means an absolute vow; as a fiqh term, it means vow by a man that he will not approach his wife for sexual intercourse.
The Panic of the Companions
When the Companions heard that the Prophet started to live in Mashraba alone, they panicked because they thought he divorced his wives. Hazrat Umar narrates that panic as follows:
“I was living in Awali, a district of Madinah. I had a neighbor from Ansar. We visited the Prophet every other day. When I went to visit the Messenger of God, I informed my neighbor about the revelation that was sent down that day and any other news when I returned. When he went to visit the Prophet, he informed me about things when he returned.
It was my neighbor’s turn to visit the Prophet. It was late at night. He knocked on my door very loudly. I opened the door in panic.
I asked him, ‘What is the matter?’
He said, ‘A great disaster!’
I said, ‘What happened? Did Ghassanis attack Madinah?’
He said, ‘No! They say the Messenger of God has divorced all of his wives.’
Thereupon, after performing the morning prayer, I got dressed and went to Madinah. I went to my daughter, Hafsa. She was crying.
I said, “Why are you crying? Did I not warn you against opposing him and not demanding anything from him?’
Then, I asked her, ‘Did the Messenger of God divorce you?’
She said, ‘I do not know.’
I asked, ‘Where is the Messenger of God now?’
She said, ‘He is there, in that Mashraba; he is resting.’
I stood up and approached the place where the Messenger of God was. Rabah, his servant, was at the door.
I said, ‘O Rabah! Ask the Messenger of God permission for me to see him.’
Rabah went in and then returned. He said, ‘I asked him but he did not say anything.’
I went to the mosque. Some Companions were sitting around the pulpit sadly; some of them were weeping. I sat there for a while. I could not overcome my sorrow. I approached the room of the Messenger of God again.
I said to Rabah, ‘Ask the Messenger of God permission for Umar to see him.’
The servant went in and then returned. He said, ‘I asked him but he did not say anything.’
I returned to the mosque. I sat near the pulpit for a while. I could not get rid of my anxiety and sorrow no matter what I did.
I approached the room of the Messenger of God again.
I said loudly, ‘O Rabah! I want to see the Messenger of God. Ask for permission. If the Messenger of God thinks that I will intercede for Hafsa, I swear by God that I will kill her if the Messenger of God orders me to do so.’
Rabah went in. When he came out, he said, ‘I told him but he kept silent. He did not say anything.’
While I was returning, I heard the servant say, ‘Come in; you were given permission.’
I went in. I greeted the Messenger of God. He was on a mattress made of straw. There were marks of the mattress on his body. I looked around. I saw a handful of barley and a fleece hung on the wall. I started to weep.
The Messenger of God asked, ‘Why are you weeping?’
I said, ‘O Messenger of God! How should I not weep? The kings and sultans of other countries lead a life of pleasure but you lead a very simple and plain life though you are the most beloved slave of God.’
The Messenger of God said, ‘O Umar, son of Khattab! Do you not consent to the hereafter for us and the world for them?’
Then, I said, ‘O Messenger of God! Did you divorce your wives?’
He looked up and said, ‘No!’
Upon this answer, I said, ‘Allahu akbar!’ All of the Companions are in sorrow. Did I go and tell them the truth?’
The Messenger of God said, ‘Alright’ and he talked to me until his sorrow disappeared. Then, he became happy and started to laugh.
Thereupon, I stood near the door of mosque and shouted loudly: ‘The Messenger of God did not divorce his wives.”
The Messenger of God Leaves Mashraba
When one month passed, the Messenger of God ended the seclusion and started to see his wives. Meanwhile, the following verses were sent down:
“O Prophet! say to thy Consorts: ‘If it be that ye desire the life of this world, and its glitter― then come! I will provide for your enjoyment and set you free in a handsome manner.“
But if ye seek God and His Messenger, and the Home of the Hereafter verily God has prepared for the well-doers amongst you a great reward.’”
According to the verses, the Messenger of God offered two options to his wives: To prefer the world and the possessions in the world or to prefer God and His Messenger.
When the verses were sent down, the Prophet was near Aisha. He told her about the verses; he said she could also talk to her parents regarding the issue.
Aisha gave her answer at once: “Why should I talk to my parents regarding this issue? I definitely prefer God, His Messenger and the hereafter.”
The Prophet smiled at Aisha’s answer.
His other wives also preferred God, His Messenger and the hereafter to the world and worldly possessions. Thus, they proved their love of and loyalty to the Prophet.
