I just realized the main characters of KOTLC have to be, like, teen celebrities of a sort at Foxfire.

I’m rereading stellarlune rn and got to that one part where Jensi is like “hi, can I sit here? Is that okay? I feel like I just interrupted a ‘how to save the world this time’ conversation” and then Dex is like “yeah that’s exactly what we were talking about actually but you can sit here anyway!” So then Jensi just sits with them and they proceed to talk about troll treaties and caches and Marella’s pyrokinesis training like everything they’re saying is totally normal and he’s just sort of there.

And that gave me this weird sense that while it doesn’t get acknowledged a lot in the series because Sophie isn’t hyper-aware of the other teens (she has so much of her own drama to worry about ON TOP of having to be the hero every book) her friend group is, like, so weird and important.

Like, they’re just sitting at lunch at school, talking about Elvin politics and classified secrets that councilors erased from their brains and how Marella bribed an ancient pyrokinetic with an evil history into revealing one such secret. And meanwhile all the other kids are at lunch like “haha, so what’s up with you and him huh? Yeah lol. Oh yeah and that table over there, that’s where they talk about saving the world and a bunch of information that isn’t revealed to the public bc they only know it bc they’re going to use it to save us all and stop a war lol. They’re so weird haha. Anyway what was I saying?”

Just casually a whole lunchroom of lots of friend groups talking and everyone just casually accepts that there’s that one table in the corner where the famous kids talk about Elvin secrets and illegal or classified stuff and saving the universe. Like yeah ok that’s normal now.

Sophie Foster would be a child of Athena, I just feel it in my bones, but if we're going for plot she would be a child of Zeus

Fitz, Biana, and Alvar would be children of Nike (I was looking it up and saw just now that Nike was close with both Zeus and Athena and I swear it is a coincidence) (also they have the same mortal parent)

Dex is a child of Hephaestus duh, as would Marella (do you see the vision?)

Keefe would be a child of Aphrodite (got that charmspeak already)

Lihn and Tam were harder to think of bc they have powers relating to different gods but then I realized they could have the same mortal parent and different godly parents so they are children of Hades and Poseidon (Sophie 🤝🏼 Tam🤝🏼 Lihn being forbidden children)

Stina would be a child of Apollo.. maybe. I had a hard time deciding her and I might change my mind later but that's what I think rn

I don't know a lot about Rayni but maybe Hecate??

wait I’m so confused how old are the keeper crew? Like in the first book Sophie says she’s twelve and she’s in level two at foxfire and know she’s in level four which should mean it’s been two years and she’s fourteen know but I see people saying she’s 15? Also I see people saying Fitz is 17 but he’s only like a year older than sophie(since we learn in book four everyone is about nine months younger than we thought they were) so if Sophie is 15 than wouldn’t that make him 16? Like I know elves count age differently but even if adding on the extra nine months made sense shouldn’t we still refer to them as the age they are in human years? Since a 17 year old elf(in elven years) is still the same age as a 16 year old human(in human years) and it’s hard to just change the ideals and expectations we have for each age soooo…

anyway I think that this year of school at foxfire got extended or smth so maybe that counteracts the minus nine months and sophie is 15? But Fitz is still 16 and Keefe is still 15(I’ve seen some people saying he’s 16 he’s not he and Sophie are the same age) and you cannot change my mind. Anyways wouldn’t that mean that in the first book Dex and biana are both eleven? Huh. Anyways feel free to correct me I’m honestly so confused right now so it would be helpful if some could either confirm this or tell me why I’m wrong. But currently this is what I think everyone’s ages are

Random idea, which KOTLC character use which social media the most

Sophie: Pinterest prob, needs images and esthetics to calm herself down

Dex: Tumblr. He has the chaos of Tumblr in him.

Fitz: I’d say Discord, he uses social to talk with the people, not for anything else.

Keefe: I’m not sure. TikTok I’d say. He’s def a video format guy, and there are so many things, he would find every niche and jump from one to another.

Biana: she’s an influencer on Insta. Showing herself, pretty pictures, encouraging people to accept their bodies as she accepted her scars, makeup and hair tutorials.

Tam: is he on social media? YouTube. He talks. Found his way to explain what goes in his head, he makes long videos about very special interests. Probably turns off the comments.

Linh: Pinterest. Shares pictures of her water sculptures, of every beautiful landscape she finds.

Stina: starts drama on Twitter/X.

Marella: on Twitter/X too, sometimes takes part in dramas, sometimes just watching them with popcorn. And goes on Tumblr to laugh and cope.

Maruca: has every social, likes everyone’s post, sometimes shares her most random thoughts in Instagram Stories.

Wylie: not a fan of social media, spends some time on Pinterest, on Instagram, doesn’t post anything.

Jensi: uh. Good question. He was on X but ended up thinking people were definitely too stupid, so moved to just looks at the comments (and sometimes add some) under YouTube shorts probably.

sophie: screamo & numetal

keefe: taylor swift

fitz: a lot of classical + jazz, prefers instrumental tracks bc he studies a lot and it helps him concentrate

biana: her spotify wrapped is all aesthetic sad girl music (think lana del rey) but she prefers country (not because of lana del rey)

dex: techno & the occasional synth pop

tam: punk. little bits of all the subgenres but mostly "classic" punk rock + a bit of pop punk (he has a lot of ska punk cds because linh likes them)

linh: got into pop from marella but likes ska as well

kotlc characters as shit I've done while driving that rose my dad's blood pressure

Sophie - nearly fell asleep at the wheel and sped into a turn way too quickly and white knuckled the steering wheel for the rest of the drive

Keefe - missed the signs for speed bumps ahead, forgot to slow down, and went over them at like 40mph. The impact was felt

Fitz - got super pissed off at the guy in front of me going way too slowly and almost crashed into him twice

Biana - kept going over the yellow line between the two lanes, or drove way too close to the curb

Dex - didn't slow down in time for the red light, wound up halfway into the intersection by the time I finally stopped, and just drove because everyone was honking at me

Tam - accelerated way too quickly and jerkily and stopped exactly the same way, slamming myself and my dad against the seats

Linh - kept forgetting to indicate when I was switching lanes and then forgot how to turn off the indicator when I finally managed to, so I just switched between indicating left then right then left until my dad finally turned it off

Marella - kept slowing down and then speeding up because i got distracted and didn't hold the accelerator properly

Maruca - refused to go down driveways or narrow roads quickly, instead crawling through them at a snail's pace so it took longer to reach the end of a driveway than that of a highway

Stina - slowed down randomly whenever anyone was walking past me even if they were on the other side of the road and got into an argument with my dad about it that distracted me from driving

Jensi - kept forgetting to read the speed limit signs and so whenever my dad asked me what the speed limit was I just made shit up and hoped I was right

Wylie - unable to recognize any roads or directions ever even when we had already gone through them like 3 times

Kotlc match list headcannons

-Sophie(if she could be registered) has Fitz at the top of her list with Tam second

-Keefe giving Tam the side-eye because he ranked above him by one spot on Sophie's list

-Keefe deciding that he doesn't need a match list because his Foster wouldn't be on it(but Sophie would def be first on his list)

-Biana having Tam and Dex as the top two positions, Maruca in third(no complaints)

-Linh and Marella being at the top of each others' lists and just going with it

-Dex didn't have anyone he knew on his list the first time(except for Stina, but he would never)

-Dex's next list had Tam, Fitz, and Biana- in that order. He's still panicking and hiding his list.

-Sophie found Dex's list and said she'd support his choice and she especially ships him and Biana.

-Fitz found out during a telepathy lesson and started blushing

-Fitz had Linh as number four on his list and no one else he knew(except Stina- but like Dex, ew)

-Fitz decided he may be better off as a Councillor

-Stina had Maruca in the 10th spot and started blushing furiously

-Maruca had Stina in her 7th and rumors say they went on a date(rumors also say it went very well)

-Nobody knows whats on Jensi's list, but they speculate Fitz may have been on it

-Tam got a list, but he has yet to show anyone. Though Fitz was rumored to be in the mix.
