I'm pretty sure my opinion about this is unpopular lol, both with jikookers who think Jungkook didn't mean it when he said so, and with non-shippers who can't stand any sort of shipping theorizing about his tattoos.

But, yes I think Jungkook is telling the truth when he says the J on his ring finger stands for his name. It’s possible he's telling a small fib to downplay his attachment to Jimin - it wouldn’t be the first time he’s told a verified white lie to protect jikook’s honour, as it were, so yeah it’s possible that he lied. But I'm choosing to believe he's saying the truth when he says the J stands for his name. That is, as far as we can tell, the truth.

Something that is also true is Jimin calling himself ARMY. Jimin has referred to himself as ARMY several times over the years, in situations that make no sense and that get eyebrow raises from all the members.... except Jungkook. Which leads me to think it's something of an inside joke between jikook - that much is clear, but I also think it's something more than that. What that is exactly, I don't know, but here's my gut feeling about it:

Jungkook has said the person he connects most with on stage, when they are performing in front of ARMY, is Jimin. For all the members, performing on stage is their reason to live, but this is most explicitly said by Jimin and Jungkook. Some of their most heightened emotional experiences, have been on stage and/or tied to their performances. Whether it's Jimin breaking down during Rosebowl and Jungkook screaming that he loves ARMY and loves him; or Jimin crying during his performance of The Truth Untold and Jungkook moving to support him; or jikook changing the lyrics at the end of their performance of the same song and turning to look at each other as the lights dim; or a teenage Jungkook stopping in the middle of a performance to stare at an injured Jimin during their Red Bullet tour - the other members moving around them wondering why they are locked in a stare-down in the middle of the show; or how Jungkook broke down in tears during the last LY concert and turned to Jimin for comfort who then used his sweater paws to wipe Jungkook's tears...

Jikook have been doing this for years. Consistently. There's a peculiar chemistry they show only when they are on stage together in front of ARMY that frankly doesn't feel at all like the fanservice I'm used to seeing from idols. It's as though they lose certain inhibitions when they are in this heightened emotional state when performing. They connect on a level I can't fully explain to be honest, but I think it's a connection they both recognize and perceive that the presence of ARMY is one way to facilitate it.

Basically, at the intersection of Jungkook and ARMY, lies Jimin. Without Jimin convincing him during pre-debut to stay with BTS when he wanted to quit to become a dancer, Jungkook wouldn't even be in BTS. That's just one example. I don't doubt Jungkook is telling the truth when he says the 'J' stands for his name, but I think the placement of the 'J' is also intentional, and that he intentionally placed it above the 'M' in ARMY knowing that it spells out Jimin's initials. Because I think for Jungkook, he feels that the person he is, the Jungkook that's matured into a global superstar honed by hundreds of performances in front of ARMY, won't exist without Jimin.

Like I keep saying, what exactly jikook's relationship is, I have no idea. But there's something about them that's peculiar. It's wholesome and beautiful and perplexing and simple.

Jk wanting to do something exhilarating is not out of the norm for Jk, but Jm on the other hand is not a thrill seeker, plane jumper, etc. Jk knows this & his love for Jm is why Jk is doing this with him. [01:24pm] "I miss her..." Jungkook sighs dreamily. It's their free period and what better way to spend it than watching you go about your day? You have watched them sit at your desk to grade papers, talk with other students, or just stroll around campus.

Right now, they're watching you walk down the entrance hall with one of their other professors. Professor Kim Namjoon. They know you're most likely discussing lesson plans but they can't help but feel a pang of envy when they see you with someone that isn't them.

"She's avoiding us."

Jimin stares at you until you make eye contact. Your chest rises slightly before falling, and they know you haven't forgotten what happened the last time you three were in a room together.

"She's just being shy, Hyung..." Jungkook counters but Jimin simply hums at the younger's naivety. It's cute.

You swiftly bow to excuse yourself when one of your students, Yeonjun, stops you from leaving. Jimin can see your smile is strained. He knows you know he's watching you. You leave without looking back. Jimin's gaze follows you until you are out of sight. You take a few deep breaths to regain your composure.

"Fucking Teacher's Pet..." Jimin rolls his eyes but he can't help the irritation that's bubbling up inside of him. And as you walk away with Yeonjun following close behind, it takes everything in Jimin to look away. He takes deep, sharp breaths to push that ugly green monster down.

Though, the more Jimin thinks about it, the more he notices a pattern.

Every time they see you, you're with a student or teacher. At this point, they know you're doing it intentionally. They can't blame you. In light of what happened last time, you can never be too careful. Being alone with them is something you tried to avoid. Even inside your classroom. They know this. They love watching you struggle to remain professional in their presence while their seated at their desk.

Watching.

Waiting.

You can sense the tension rising with every passing day. They know you wouldn't go to the dean for the simple fact, you don't want any of this getting out. You don't want to lose our job either.

Even though it would make it much easier for them.

"How do we get her to see us again?"

"We have to wait."

Jungkook frowns at his words. He doesn't want to wait. If he could, he would whisk you away from everything and everyone. Keep you locked away, not only for his benefit but for your safety. Jungkook knows he can't rush things. He knows he needs to give you time and space to come to terms with the situation.

But... It's hard to do that with you flaunting your curves all over campus.

They also know they can't give you too much space or you'll think they've given up on you. Which is far from the case.

Jimin hearts plummets to the floor when he realizes who you're with now. His nose twitching with irritation.

"She's with him. Again."

Jimin's expression shifted from one of contentment to one of resentment when he noticed you speaking with Professor Kim Seokjin, your spouse. His grumbling betrayed his growing frustration, his inability to tear his gaze away from the couple whose joy seemed to be exclusive.

He sighed and glances away, forlorn as he pulls out his phone to type out a message to send you.

[01:46pm] Jimin: Meet us in your office, love.

Jimin adds the pet name for shits and giggles, knowing how you feel about them when Seokjin says them to you. They watch you when you make eye contact with Jimin as he smirks. He sees you shutter before frowning at your watch.

"Hyung..." Jungkook whines, catching Jimin's attention. He can't lie, he misses you too. He can't tell you how many times he replayed that video for his viewing pleasure. He's been content with it but he'll want the real thing very soon.

You lean up to kiss your husband's cheek. Jungkook and Jimin faces twist in disgust when you mouthed the words 'I love you' to him.

Pretty soon, you'll be theirs and you’ll be saying that to them. They’ll make sure of it.

"C'mon." Jimin tugs on Jungkook's jacket as he watches you walk back toward your office. You're picking your nails. They know you're nervous.

"Where are we going, hyung?"

"To her office."

This is the sweetest, cutest man ever. Just casually looks like PERFECTION at 3 am while sick. The only person who could ever honestly.

Yes, I know today there was a lot of excitement. Because there's photos of the Tannies on their personal time all over my timeline when there should be screenshots of streaming and voting.

It's disappointing because Jungkook just got done saying he was human too and asking us not to stalk him during his private time. I know some folks feel like if you're out in public, you are "fair game." But that's my point: they aren't game, they aren't prey--they are people and they deserve to be able to hang out with their friends and not have it scrutinized and weaponized. The last time we saw Jikook together off-schedule, just the two of them alone, they got in a car to leave from the airport in April of 2022. A few days later, the gossip rags sabotaged Jimin's first OST With You with a bullshit scandal about missing insurance premium payments and his apartment "seizure" (on paper).

And ever since that day, we have not seen Jikook hang out in any personal capacity, unless you count the arcade in DC with Hobi and Her. Not once have we seen them alone. POINTEDLY.

There's been blurry CCTV photos of two people in a mini mart and whispers from K forums of folks seeing them around the neighborhood, but nothing concrete; they don't even mention each other in TMIs any more.

We KNOW they have hung out, as per inferences from their family, tattoo artist, and boxing coach, but no solid evidence from the primary source, even when directly asked. Again, POINTEDLY.

And yet when they are together for a work thing or online, they get along like a house on fire. They slap butts and tap hands and do cute things for each other's birthdays and get into giggle fits and compliment each other and flirt like crazy on WeVerse. Jungkook has issued several emphatic invitations for Jimin to come to him and told us to look forward to his teaser at midnight.

But they aren't sharing their relationship with us like they used to, so we honestly do not know if they hang out in person much these days.

Not because there's any indication of bad blood or a whiff of a breakup. Our little perfectionist is booked and busy, and our golden maknae was taking time to recharge.

You need to remember that since solo era was mentioned, Jimin has been writing, composing, and recording his own songs.

He's traveled abroad multiple times--Chicago, LA, NYC, Paris--to name a few.

He's hosted people who have traveled to Korea to work with him.

The producers admonished him for not taking breaks to eat or shower and in fact sleeping in the studio for many nights.

He's had to rehearse for music shows, concerts, his collab, and his own music videos.

He's been training so hard on new choreo that he was in too much pain to join Jin for his birthday and you KNOW how our boy feels about his members' birthdays.

He's filmed RUN content and commercials and a documentary and all sorts of stuff for his own album.

He's had work as brand ambassador for Dior and Tiffany's beyond just Fashion Week, which was huge.

I've lost count of the number of high-end photoshoots he's done for Vogue, W, Elle, and I don't know what all else.

The man JUST got off a plane the day before from traveling half-way around the world to interview with and perform for Fallon for TWO NIGHTS.

If I were him, I wouldn't dash over to a packed concert less than 24 hours later, either. Doesn't mean I don't love my members, or my partner, or Styles. It means I'm TIRED and I'm protecting my health and energy.

Especially considering there are appearances on television coming up and god knows what else to promote FACE.

AND FACE IS WHAT WE SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON.

I love you all, but I swear to God, if you give your time and energy to the assholes on the timeline attacking Jikook, you are robbing Jimin of the time and energy you should be giving to voting, streaming, buying, and hyping FACE. Which is what they want. They want to siphon that energy from you. Please don't be stupid.

We are grasping for every INCH of space on the charts up against absolute giants this and next week. It would be different if all of ARMY got behind Jimin 24/7 but you know how many little 7s actually behave when push comes to shove. To say nothing of the antis, mantis, multis, and cult working against him with purpose.

Please don't let this kind of crap sabotage Jimin's hard work. Celebrate the fact that some BTS members got to hang out at a concert, and honor the fact that some BTS members had other things to do.

PLEASE snap out of it and stick to our goals. We can debate Jikook all day long after FACE is safely to bed. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS.

Jungkook knows his fans and he know what they want and so he feeds them. Jokers were over the moon with the comment he made on jimins video but after he liked a video of tae they tried to play it cool because the husband shut them up.

Good grief are people still trying to paint Jimin as overcoming toxic masculinity in this day and age? Why is this discourse always centered around him and not the other members? There are so many videos of the other members saying toxic crap but why do people latch onto him and not others? Just because the concept was to be a tough hiphop group during debut year does not mean Jimin had toxic masculinity. Being muscular and flashing abs is considered toxic masculinity?? Look at the environment he grew up in with supportive parents and his exposure to the arts (more than any other member). Busan is a hyper-masculine place and for his dad to be so supportive for Jimin’s pursuit of an arts school and to switch his focus to contemporary when he was excelling in hip hop says a lot about Jimin’s early years. His willingness to give hugs, birthday presents, compliments to others, and manners point to a very accepting, loving home.

Dumbass armys and even jikookers (tho they're armys, so it's the same) always projected weakness and insecurity onto him as if it was actually serious. Looking back, it was probably because he's always been so transparent and has always worn his heart on his sleeve, meanwhile you had almost every other member going the extra mile to act a different way on camera than they were in real life. But they took Jimin's real life struggles and insecurities and cartoonized him and a lot of his personality traits.

The funny thing is that they exaggerated all of it and turned it into something bad, while they exaggerate others' traits to turn them into something good and awesome when it's literally the bare minimum a human being should be.

Jimin likes drinking, so that means he has an alcohol problem. Taehyung smoking doesn't matter, Jungkook getting shitfaced several nights a week for the whole world to see was hilarious, and he's so cool and such a rebellious guy, so modern, so forward and the change the world needs. Like, you can't make that up.

Jungkook wearing a crop top and Taehyung wearing a wig and Yoongi doing nothing...??? means they're queer icons, gender bending heroes and means they've never known toxic masculinity. But Jimin giving presents to them since early times, wiping their snot when they cried, putting their heads on his shoulder to comfort them, always having a nice word and a hug for them, holding their hands, calling out Jungkook for not complimenting him ever and saying that people become more beautiful when they get compliments, posting photos for their male fans on valentine's days... and for armys it's "let's talk about all the ways Jimin struggled with toxic masculinity!!". Yeah, why not. Let's talk about how he struggled with the toxic masculinity standards that all the other BTS members imposed on him.

When smf2 came out, and he was shirtless, skinny, no abs, nothing, someone else and I talked about how he was actually so cool for doing that. Idols spend hours dieting and drinking protein shakes and locked up in the gym to get abs and get ripped before showing themselves shirtless in MVs, but Jimin didn't do all that. Then he went to suchwita and Yoongi actually told him how was he able to show up shirtless if his body isn't nice.

It's almost as if Jimin has barely been granted the simple consideration of being a real person, and for some reason this happens only to him in BTS.

I know I bring this up a lot, but this has always made me think of Jimin and the way people see him.

Especially when comparing the way people see the other members.
