Cool Together - Jonah Marais
Tumblr media
Jonah Marais x fem!reader (she/her pronouns) oneshot
Summary: A fluffy scenario I imagined about you and Jonah painting each other’s nails.
Warnings: None. Let me know though.
AN: First time actually writing somethings in a while. Sorry if it's bad. Inspired by the picture above. Hope you enjoy!
———————————————
Y/N'S POV:
“Babe! Have you seen my nail polishes?” I asked my boyfriend after not being able to find any in the bathroom.
Not hearing a response I walk out of the bathroom with a sigh.
When I turn around, the sight I’m met with makes a smirk appear on my face.
“And now I know where they went.” I tease him.
Jonah was sitting on our bed with the bucket of nail polish next to him, and different bottles surrounding him. In his hand he had the black polish.
“I’m sorry,” he apologizes sheepishly.
“It’s just that whenever you do it, it always looks so cool and I just wanted to try it out. I just can’t seem to do it.” He whispers the last sentence.
“There is nothing you need to apologize about Jonah,” I reassure him.
“Can you help me?” He mumbles out.
“Sorry babe, I couldn’t hear that. Can you repeat?” I ask, knowing we both know that I actually did hear him.
I just wanted to rub this moment in. This is the first time he’s asked me to paint his nails so I’m going to make it worth it. And who knows, maybe this can be a recurring thing we do every Friday night.
Rolling his eyes at my antics he repeats louder, “Can you help me?”
“Oh of course I can babe. Why didn’t you ask sooner?” I say with a chuckle.
Rolling his eyes playfully, Jonah says “Yeah, Yeah. Just get over here.”
Plopping myself on the bed, next to him, I say:
“So what are we thinking?”
“Well I wanted to do something cool, but I think starting off simple with just black would be cool,” he responds.
Agreeing, we get to work. I explain to him my process and show him the best way to not get the polish on his skin. He somehow gets the hang of it pretty quickly.
“I finished!” Jonah yells once he paints his last nail. He looks at me with such accomplishment in his eyes.
“You did! They look so good.” I smile back at him.
“Thank you,” he says before kissing me deeply.
Giggling while I pull away I ask,
“What was that for?”
“Well, I was thinking that now that I can paint nails, we can paint each other’s. We can do that right? And I got so excited I just kissed you,” he answers.
“Oh okay and of course we can babe.” I happily replied.
And the smile that lights up his face makes what I agree to next so much more worth it.
“Yeah we will be so cool together. We can call it the Cool Together Club,” he looks at me hopefully.
“Maybe… but we might need to work on the name a little bit more.”
“Okay fine… but now it’s my turn to paint your nails. Come here.”
I start laughing while he pulls me up to sit on his lap and gets started.
Once he’s done, and we are both cuddled up under the sheets, I say the one thing I know will get him to really smile,
“Fine I guess we can call this the Cool Together Club. I am feeling pretty cool.”
He smiles and then suddenly pumps his fist in the air while yelling,
“Yes!”
———————————————
AN: I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you thought and if you have any feedback. Also sorry for the ending. I didn’t know how to end this.
Love,
kara (upindreamland)

The Heart Of A Lion I Jonah Marais pt.1
Tumblr media
Jonah Marais X Aurora Peshlakai
Plot: Aurora Puts her morals aside to feel validated in her best friend's luxurious world. Agreeing to a fake-dating deal with the one person she can't stand, Jonah Marais. After stepping into his word and understanding why he's so distance with the world around him. Aurora takes it into her hands to show him just how amazing the world could be. Will her little quest to familiarize the ignorant musician with the best things life has to offer crash and burn? Or will it be a successful mission causing them to become something more than friends?
Word Count: 2K+
A/N: I'm in the process of rewriting That One making it more mature and developed. I put in on hiatus because I wasn't happy with the gala part it felt very cliche and young. It just wasn't something I was going for. I took out a few important keys of the original story but there's still the foundation.
--------
The sweet scents and warm ambiance of the Dark Bean coffee shop had begun to cure my foggy brain. I spent countless hours hunched over my desk cramming for the first midterm of the semester. Ivette somehow managed to tear be for my hell when I was so daze, I couldn't understand the material. My entire body thanked the goddess sitting across from me while it sunk into the foam of the booth.
My parents worked themselves to the ground to assure I had the best education. An opportunity they never had; I was beyond grateful. I devoted my entire being to prove to them I wasn't taking it for granted. They were relieved when I got accepted into Red Dawn University's undergrad law program.
I'm utterly exhausted.
This third year is drowning me and pulling me under. I could feel myself burning out and the worst part was that I didn't even want to pursue a career in Law. I'm an artist, that was my passion, but the proud look on both my parents faces fueled me to continue, I didn't have the heart to disappoint them after everything they've done for me.
"I didn't just bring you here for coffee." Ivette chipped and a red smile etched into her lips. I cautiously pull myself up, curiosity driving.
"I'm so proud of you." Ivette starts and plucks a gift bag I hadn't noticed in my delirium, onto the black the table. I didn't have the effort to fight her on it and gave her an unamused glance.
Reluctantly I reached for the lavender bag, her eyes are bright and full of anticipation. I peak inside once I collect it into my lap, a white apple box taunts be within. I sigh and slide the bag back onto the table. "I love you Ivette, but your words are enough of me."
She slides the bag back in front of me, "I know you don't like my extravagant gifts but please take this one. Let me replace your ten-year-old laptop. You deserve it." Her words are soft, and I felt every word she said.
"It's too much."
"No. It's not enough."
Over the years we've been friends Ivette has tried gifting me with various expensive presents. There was no way I could possibly return the favour and usually decline it. Sure, she's told me multiple times a gift isn't an exchangeable favour, but I can't help but feel indebted to her like I do with my parents. Ivette understands the way I feel and takes them back with no questions asked.
There was something about the pleading in her eyes that possessed me to take the bag, "well, god I didn't think I'd ever see the day Aurora Peshlakai willing accepted a gift."
"Don't ruin the moment." I tease.
My attention got caught by a figure approaching in my peripheral, the barista. He's tall and broad, wearing a rich brown apron atop black clothing. His complexion is dark, and his hair is a course black heap of tight curls. The iced beverage I ordered seven minutes ago rests in his hand in all it's legendary glory.
Dark Bean had the best Iced caramel lattes that would have me crawling on my knees for another. It was the perfect combination of sweet sugary goodness and the bitter depths of strong caffeine.
A grin crawled onto his lips, noticing my gaze lingering a little too long. Tray as his name tag had stated read my interest wrong, and even though he's easy on the eyes my only desire was that caramel heaven.
He kept his gaze on me, replacing my already empty coffee with the fresh one. "Iced salted caramel latte, extra drizzle and two shots of expresso." He stated,
"Thank you." I say sheepishly.
Was it really necessary to speak my customized order?
He transferred his attention to my Latina best friend, "It there anything I can get you?" His tone is polite and eager to please. She sneaks a glance at me giving me a knowing look.
Now that was an evident look of mischief.
"Unfortunately, no. One serving of caffeine is enough to last me the week." He nods his heads,
"No problem. Just give me a shout if you need another." Trey directed his last words to me. He was just doing his job, but somehow it felt like a personal attack on the amount of coffee I consumed in the hour we've been here.
"Don't worry, she will. This one is a whore for a simple coffee fix." Ivette announced for the entire café to hear. Tray flashed an intrigued look over his shoulder and heat rose high upon the surface of my skin.
I slitted my eyes playfully at her. "Some days you made it extremely hard not to strangle you."
"Oh, I'd be first in line to buy tickets to see your ager obliterate you." She stares
"Honestly at this rate it might come sooner than you anticipated." I stare back.
Soon we find ourselves locked into a starting contest.
Both of us leaning our bodies against the table, resting our arms a top it. Out faces are mere inches away from each other, testing each other, teasing each other. Her brown face is stoic until I break into a smile, and she begins to fight a bite of laughter back.
Staring contests were something we've done since high school. Always falling into them when we matched our exuberant energies together. I'm usually the one to break it but Ivette's daunting gaze darts from mine, latching onto something just past my shoulder. A look of interest slips before Ivette recovers from it.
A strong Sandalwood scent causes my head to spin before I can follow her line of vision. It was almost familiar with a few more components added to it. Once I reclaim myself, I find a tall frame shadowing our table.
Jonah Marais holds himself well, demeaner confident but relaxed. His stormy blue eyes stare at me and I wonder if he might've lost his mind on his way over here. He wasn't someone I've acquainted myself with, but Ivette had herself ringed into his circle. Dickmatized by his band's drummer, Daniel.
"Jonah what a pleasure." Ivette breaks the silence and Jonah takes it as an invitation to squeeze in next to me.
What could this man possibly want?
A wolfish grin spreads on his pink lips as if he developed the ability to sense my annoyance overnight
I roll my eyes.
I prayed to the universe he's informing Ivette of another gig his band, Why Don't We locked down. They've done well for themselves these last few years, gaining more exposure with every passing day. It wasn't rare to see them preforming in bigger venues or on well-known stages.
Although the look of determination hiding in his eyes told me otherwise. I feel like I'm going to be sick.
"You heard my parents are hosting yet another charity gala right," He directs his question at Ivette, his body splaying on the bench. Forcing his thigh to be pressed against mine.
"Yeah, for the Everett Animal Hospital Right?" Ivette falls into conversation with him like they're long-lost friends. "Yep, that's the one." He pops the 'p' out disinterest about the organization.
"Didn't they stop accepting clients because they're low staffed?" I ask,
"Gianna was saying something like that the other day." Ivette's younger sister volunteered there as much as she could outside her busy school schedule.
"Good thing my parents are the prime donors of that place" He shrugs as if money overweighted the employees.
I scoffed at the ignorance he possessed; God forbid he knew what it was like to live a normal life. There was no point in explaining that the animal hospital needed more than just money. It'd just be a waste of air, in one ear out the other.
"You taking Seavey?"
"I couldn't imagine going with anyone else. Why? Does he have other plans I'm unaware of?" Ivette pries aggressively. Needing to know if the man she devoted her time to is fishing in a different pond. I fight the urge to smack the day lights out of him.
Did he have any awareness for the people around him?
"God no, that kid is absolutely done for when it comes to you." He seems to be amused at the thought of his best friend having the ability to cheat.
Maybe he did.
"Good." A glint of pride dips into her gaze. "Are you planning on taking Yelena?"
Yelena Wren. Psych major who worked for everything she got but could never say no to a good party and a few drinks. I didn't know her too well, but I enjoyed the few conversations we've shared in class. She deserved more than what Jonah was willing to give her.
"Nah, I want something different this time around?"
"I need to know who stole your attention." She's eager and I laugh just looking at her, always ready to hear the latest drama.
Jonah's head falls in my direction and his eyes grow darker with each passing second. He's out of his goddamn mind, it sure as hell ain't stable if this motherfucker is referring to me. Ivette is speechless and her brain seems to be buffering.
"Absolutely not, Marais." I seethe still processing this entirely situation.
"Come on Princess. Quiet pretending. I know you wanted me in high school." He winks pulling his lip in with his teeth, I swallow the bile rising in my throat.
How the fuck did he get that information from? Although it was true, I did for a fraction of my teen years want to know what his hair felt like between my fingers. I'd never verbally admit it to him, besides it's purely irrelevant now. Plus, that was before I experienced firsthand who that boy really was and still is.
"You're disgusting." I spat,
"Perfect. I'll see you in two weeks." He nodded at Ivette and removes himself from the booth, I stare at the parasite until he gathers himself into his pristine tesla across the street
-----------------
"Holy shit!" Ivette musters up after a forty-five-minute commute to her lavish penthouse apartment. Falling back into her velvet lavender sofa set in the middle of her living space.
I do something similar on her second couch, staring up at the high white ceiling as if it had all the answer to the universe, "I suspected you had put him up to this." I start and I hear her movement as she shoots up. "..But your reaction was too genuine. The look of pure shook was written there as if Jonah himself shot you with a bullet."
"Not a bullet, he hit me with a fucking nuke."
"You had no idea?" I ask, there was a slim possibility she had been milking her reacting. The girl was a theatre major after all.
"Not a goddamn idea" she says, and I swear I could hear the shock still lingering in her words.
"Daniel hasn't said anything?"
"Nothing, but-" She cuts herself and it catches my attention.
I roll onto my stomach wanting to what has her gears stuttering. A blank expression splayed on her face, and I know she's trying to cover something up.
"What is it?" my question is so urgent it comes off as a demand,
"I just always thought he had a thing for you." Her tone is calm and soft, shrugging her shoulders and I don't take any of her words seriously. It was absurd just thinking about, "Whenever you came to their bar gigs I saw the way he watched you," A shiver crawls up my spine and causing shudders to cast over my entire body. "Then in conversation he seems to remember the smallest details I share about you. And brings them up several weeks or months later. It nothing too personal, just like...your favourite canvas brand or the types of colours you prefer. It's cute"
I feel as if an uninvited guess welcomed themselves into my mind and saw parts of me I kept hidden. I felt completely vulnerable. I didn't feel that way about Corbyn or Zach, so why the fuck did he have that effect on me?
"It's all just a game to him Vette," I say laying my head upon the cushions.
"Maybe," she says dismissively and somehow, I sensed she didn't mean it.
"Trust me. I'm just a flavour he hasn't had the pleasure of devouring.'
"Yeah? And what's that?" Amusement laces in her eyes,
"Uninterest."

little daniel imagine, with the '“where’s the new coffee mix?” “i’ll tell you if you tell me where you put the keys?” “i TOLD you i don’t know where—”' prompt <3
a/n: thank you for the ask, anon! hope you enjoy!<3🌼pick a prompt:)
you get up a few minutes past seven o’clock, shuffling out of bed behind daniel, out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. the sky, as the sun rose not too long ago, is still wearing its coat of muted pink and yellow, and natural light welcomes itself into your home in narrow streaks onto the floors and kitchen countertops. daniel is first to wake up, sleepily mumbling something about wanting to get to tour rehearsals early, and with the help of his convincing smile and guarantee of breakfast, you hop out of bed as well.
it isn't unusual for the two of you to be grumpy in the morning, only sharing slight smiles and little morning kisses and a touch of conversation while you work through your routines to get ready for the day…at least until there is cooked food and warm drinks on the table.
honestly, if it wasn't for the tempting promise of hot, home-cooked breakfast, which you gladly agreed for daniel to make, the pair of you would still be in bed, lured in under the warm sheets and blankets, fighting off the wintry morning chill. your slight grumpiness has progressed into an obvious agitation, furrowed brows and all, at the absence of your keys from their usual spot near the entryway.
daniel’s cooking as you breeze around the house looking for them, showing half-hearted concern and asking simple questions that honestly tick you off even more. “are you sure you haven’t seen them?” you call, halfway across the living room as your eyes scan every possible fraction of space and object in sight.
“yep, no idea” daniel dismisses, unknowingly receiving an annoyed huff in return, his voice muffled by the sound of the kitchen cabinets and drawers rolling open one by one only to be shut again as he tries to find the jar of coffee that would usually be sitting in one of the shelves.
he puts breakfast on the table anyway, two two mini stacks of pancakes and berries for each of you, and although daniel is proud of his culinary work at such an early hour, his limbs still tired and eyes still groggy, you aren’t so pleased at the absence of your necessary cup of coffee. the edge of your voice is ever so obvious as you pace around the house, looking for other things you’d somehow misplaced from your shoes to your lip balm back to your keys, murmuring out a “thank you,” followed by a “where’s my coffee?” as you glance at the food in front of you.
“where’s the new coffee mix?” he counters.
“i’ll tell you if you tell me where you put the keys?”
the two of you attempt a staring contest, a battle of who can hold their frowning expressions the longest without faltering, before you just decide to search together. daniel loses, sighing in frustration before he moves to check around the kitchen one more time, “i TOLD you i don’t know where—”' his words are cut off, eyes rolling at the sight of your keys in the cutlery drawer. “how did they even get in here?” he questions, keys hanging off his finger in the air.
an easy smile graces your lips, as if a frown had never been there, and the morning grumpiness melts away as you cheekily pluck the keys from his hand before plopping down at your seat to eat….”the coffee’s in the pantry, first shelf on the right” you say through a mouthful of food.

the lotus inn (d.s)
Tumblr media
pairing: daniel seavey x gn!reader summary: sneaking out with your best friend on the sunday night two days before your exam might have actually been the break you needed, but you would've never realised how special that night would've ended up becoming. inspired by: 'hotel' by claire rosinkranz and 'lotus inn' by why don't we. word count: 1.7k trigger warnings: trespassing on private property, sneaking out, exam stress, reckless behaviour in general. some swearing too i think a/n: i stumbled upon the beginnings of this while cleaning out my drafts and i really wanted to finish it so.... also i haven't written something in ages so pleasee go easy on me! (i also apologise for how short this is)
Tumblr media
This was not how you wanted to spend your weekend. The dim, barely plausible light emitting from your lamp desk was the only source of illumination throughout the whole house and was barely enough to unjumble the mess of words printed on your textbook pages. Running another hand through your hair, you let out a frustrated groan. Nothing was sticking in your mind and the constant ping and glow of your phone screen wasn't benefiting you in the slightest.
With a heavy sigh, you finally gave in, reaching for your phone to check the onslaught of incoming messages that had been distracting you all night. You found yourself staring at more than enough texts from all your friends, each one questioning your whereabouts.
You swiped right on the top notification on your phone, opening a thread of messages from your best friend, Daniel. All while choosing to ignore the little flutter your heart gave you.
11:02 pm Hey, are we still meeting at my place or do you want me to drive you? Are you still coming? ??? Hello?
“Shit,” you mumble to yourself. It was a Sunday night and you had promised him and a few other friends the week before that you'd go out with them again, only problem was that you weren't exactly allowed to. With the massive exam that was coming up in just two days, your parents had forced you to take time away from your reckless activities and focus on getting a passing grade. Which of course, you knew was the right thing to do and so far you had been sticking to the newly enforced rule pretty well; but now, at almost 10 minutes to midnight with your sanity tipping over the edge, you were almost craving to feel any ounce of fun or adrenaline that you had been so deprived of. So, without letting yourself think twice about it, you typed in a quick “meet me at my place” before hitting send and pressing your phone to the wooden desk softly to avoid making any loud noise.
Gnawing lightly on your lip, you stared at the black screen expectantly and when it lit up with it’s bright white glow you snatched it up without haste and swiped open the message, “be there in 10 :))”
Your belly did somersaults, both from the rush of adrenaline you got from sneaking out and from meeting up with Daniel.
As you carefully moved around your bedroom, pulling on a jacket and a pair of shoes, your mind couldn’t help but wander back to the thought of him. Although you’d never admit it to anyone that asked, you found yourself falling for the blonde. The way he smiled, the way he talked, the way he laughed, everything had you falling - helplessly, hopelessly.
Stuffing your phone in your denim pocket, you slid your bedroom window up, the cold gust of night air engulfing you, as if welcoming you back to this familiar practice. You swung your feet out the window, your old converse hitting the roof of the bottom floor of your house. The slanting roof made for a difficult surface to steady yourself on, but you had done this enough times before that you quickly regained your sloppy balance. You lowered your body closer to the cold roof tiles, before sliding down it, carefully maneuvering yourself until your feet landed in the garden beds.
Letting out a sigh of relief you walk towards the footpath, the smile consuming yourself at the successful escape only grew at the sight of Daniel’s car slowing as it neared the corner of your street. The two of you had planned enough of the Sunday night sneak-outs that he knew well enough that driving right to the front of your house was a bad idea.
Your walk turned into a jog that broke into a run as you approached his car, butterflies swarming your chest as you opened the passenger door and relaxed into the familiar seats.
“Shit, that looked like you were escaping from a prison,” Daniel joked, an amused smile playing on his lips and you had to remind yourself not to stare.
“Sure felt like it,” you answer, letting out a pleased exhale, both excited and relieved to finally get away from all the stress and worries that have been clouding your mind.
“Ready to get outta here?”
“Never could be more.”
As you watch your little house on the end of the cul-de-sac disappear from view you feel a sense of almost relief.
Guess old habits die hard.
---
The car ride is a far from silent drive, the two of you playing your favourite songs as loud as possible, windows rolled down as you drove down the  highway. The moon glistening over the crashing waves made for ethereal scenery to this forever memory.
His fingers drum to the beat of the music on the steering wheel, you nodding your head as your eyes trace the outlines of the waves. Swiveling your neck so you're facing him you ask, “you still haven't told me where we’re going.”
Daniel smirks, eyes still on the road as he exits off the highway. “It’s a secret.”
You exhale loudly in dismay, “come on Dani, please.”
“We’re almost there, goof,” he chuckles as he turns the car down another street, “just be patient.”
You grin at the nickname - the one he only has for you - trying your best to hide it as you roll your eyes at him.
It takes less than 20 minutes before Daniel slows the car to a stop. You look out the window, surveying your dodgy surroundings. There’s not much besides an iron gate and some European-style stone walls. The rest of the vicinity was tree and bush besides the road in front of you that carried on for a little ways more.
Daniel lets himself out of the car, before walking around to your side and opening your door for you.
“Daniel, are you kidnapping me,” you joke as you step out of the vehicle, analysing the iron gate closer, the red sign on it reads ‘Staff Access Only’ in bright white letters.
He laughs again, and your heart does a stupid little jump at the sound. “No, actually,” He says, passing you a torch, “now be quiet and follow me.”
Flicking your torch on, you follow the blonde as he jumps the fence, before navigating what seems to be the backyard of a small hotel house. The house itself reminds you of a beach house, and the backyard has a small pool and garden area.
Finding random old hotels to sneak into actually wasn’t out of the ordinary for your small group of friends, it might’ve been a reckless and dangerous activity but it’s not like you have ever been caught. Anyways, what’s life without a little adrenaline?
As you approach the hotel-beach-house you can hear the muted laughter of your friends and the faint sound of music. The light pouring out of the tall glass windows shines and shimmers over the pool's surface. Daniel takes your hand softly in his, your fingers weaving together before he pulls you into the house behind him. The two of you navigate the small crowd of your friends together, saying the occasional hi and hello to familiar faces.
The both of you find yourself in the middle of the room, Daniel swaying you playfully to the music as he takes both your hands, and before you’re aware of it, half the night has escaped you. The both of you are dancing and singing to whatever songs your friends are playing over their small bluetooth speakers for what feels like hours. Your feet ache and you're drunk on the night air. You’re laughing and smiling like an idiot, all caught up in the feeling of him, his presence, the way he makes it feel like only the both of you exist in this moment.
You can’t help but get lost in the little details of him. His blonde hair all messy from the dancing, the way the lights shine off the surface of his face, his stupidly cute smile as he sang along to the lyrics of the song, and you loved the way he looked like that. It’s a smile that reminds you how much you feel for him, how deep your love runs.
And you hate that he doesn’t know, and you hate that he won’t know because you’re too scared of the outcome not being what you expect. For him to say no or step out of your life completely.
But then he grabs your hand, pulling you in and twirling you around, he’s saying stuff, his mouth running excitedly but none of it processes in your mind. You’re too caught up with the drumming of your heart, the feeling clouding all your senses, ears too loud, mind too foggy. But then he looks at you with that smile, the one that lights up the room and puts sparkles in his eyes, it’s so wide that he’s squinting and he’s looking at you.
Not anyone else, it’s you that brings out that smile.
You feel light at the realisation, like you're floating on a cloud. You’re not sure if it’s the fact that tonight feels so dreamy and magical, but you don’t want to waste the moment. You don’t want to hate yourself for the rest of your life because you didn’t take the chance to kiss Daniel Seavey.
So you wish your secrets farewell.
You reach up, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down to your level before pressing your lips to his. The millisecond of fear and regret is immediately overcome by warmth when he grabs your waist, easing into the kiss as he pulls you impossibly closer.
It feels electric, which you find cliche and stupid but it does. Like every fibre of your being is on fire, like fireworks are exploding over your skin. You hope to God that he feels this way too.
When he pulls away, he’s smiling, grinning so wide it’s contagious. He’s easily the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.
“I’ve wanted to do that since forever,” he confesses. His hand is still on your waist.
You’re absolutely lost for words. Still running high on the ecstasy from the kiss and now his confession makes your knees buckle and mind fog over.
But he doesn’t seem to mind. He reels you in, kissing you again, it’s soft and sweet and you're drunk on the taste of him. You feel his smile against your lips, in turn making you do the same. You don't ever want this night to end. It feels good, it feels right. It feels like home.

WDW Shorts: Watching Scary Movies
Member: Jonah Word Count: 646 Enjoy!
It was finally October, her favorite time of the year. Jonah on the other hand didn't like October or anything to do with Halloween. He just went along with it because he was in love with her and wanted to make her happy. Of course, when she tried to have a scary marathon he agreed. "Take it easy on me, you know I don't do scary things," he said. "I know you don't but you will be ok," she said. "Uh-huh," he sighed as he leaned back against the couch. "You will love it" she snuggled close to him. "I don't think so," he said. "You will because you love me," she said. "That's not fair," he said. "Ok but I will make you like scary things," she said. "You can try," he said. "You will enjoy it," she said as she started the movie. She started with an easy movie and started working up to the real scary ones. At first, he was OK with them but as the movies started to get scarier than the last, that's when he started not liking them. "Ok seriously, why is she going down there?" he said. "Are you ok?" She asked. "No, because she's going to die, and AH '' he said as something popped out in the movie. "It's ok," she chuckled slightly before taking his hand. He took a deep breath in and continued to watch the movie. They finished the movie and decided to call it a night. "So a bubble bath or a quick shower?" he asked. "Bubble bath does sound nice" she nodded. "I'll get it ready," he said as he went upstairs. He turned on the water allowing it to warm up before putting the stopper in. He poured the bubble bath into the tub, allowing the water to foam up. She walked in already undressed and got into the tub. He smiled to himself as he watched her before getting undressed. He slipped into the tub behind her, and she rested against him playing with his hand. "Isn't this the best part of a movie marathon?" she asked. "yes it is" he admitted, placing a kiss on her head. "Are you sure you are ok?" she asked. "Yea I'll be fine," he said. They finished up in the tub and got out, wrapping a towel around each other. He slipped his boxers on before getting into bed. She slipped on a shirt and underwear before getting into bed. She snuggled up to his chest as they both started to fall asleep. Falling asleep wasn't his issue, but while asleep that's when the nightmares started. He started jerking in the bed which woke her up. She kissed his cheek softly, rubbing his chest softly trying to wake him up. "Babe," she said as she nudged him. "Stop" he groaned in his sleep. "Jonah," she said. "Stop," he said as he woke up, sitting up in bed. He was breathless, sweating, and confused about where he was. "It's ok," she said as she rubbed his back. "Where am I?" he questioned. "You are at home," she said. "You are ok" she looked at him. "Ok" he nodded as he caught his breath. "It was a nightmare," she said. "Yes I'm sure it was," he nodded. "I'm ok," he said as he laid back down. "Are you sure?" she asked as she rubbed his chest. "Yes I'm sure," he said, pulling her close. "I'm here baby" she kissed his cheek softly. "Good, I need you here," he whispered. "I'm always here" she kissed him softly. "I love you," he said. "I love you, babe," she said. They ended up falling back to sleep and he fell back to sleep. It was safe to say she didn't make him watch any more scary movies but the month isn't over yet.

Halloween | Daniel Seavey
Requested? Yes! I hope you like it and I’m genuinely so sorry it took so long
Warnings? Nah
Summary: It’s finally your first real Halloween with your little family and Daniel decides to play a prank on your daughter
Word Count: 1,522
You had been waiting practically all year for this.
It was the first real Halloween with you and your little family and you were beyond ecstatic. You had always loved Halloween growing up, you, your brother, and dad going out and walking the little neighborhoods of your small hometown and racking in bag after bag of candy was fun to you.
When you got home, you and your brother would sit in the living room and sort out your candy. You’d trade each other for things you wanted from the other pile and by the end of the night you were sitting pretty with piles of candy and a happy heart.
As you grew older, you were sad when your late nights trick or treating turned into late-night parties. While you did love dressing up and going out with your friends, the child in you still missed it. But that was how you met your husband Daniel.
Your best friend had called you a week before Halloween, telling you all about a party in Hollywood that you had to go to for Halloween. You agreed, knowing if you didn’t you would sit at home greeting trick or treaters at your apartment the whole night.
You decided to dress up as Cher from Clueless, something timeless and not too revealing for the oddly chilly night in LA. Your best friend picked you up at 8 and the two of you were off for the night.
The party in the hills was huge, to say the least. You had never been around this area much before so you probably wouldn’t recognize anyone at the party. When you stepped inside the practical mansion, your best friend peels off from you to say hi to someone and you’re left with getting yourself a drink to not look awkward.
“Cher?” someone asks as you had just finished pouring yourself a drink.
You turn around to see a boy your age, faded dyed blonde hair in a mop on his head and a smile spread across his lips it strikes you immediately how attractive he is. He’s dressed in a skintight spiderman costume minus the mask and you offer him a smile.
“Hi Peter,” you say and his smile only grows. “I’m surprised you recognized me.”
“Really?”
“I figured most of these people have probably never seen the movie or are too drunk to care,” you say leaning in so he can hear you better.
“Well, lucky for you I have seen the movie and I’m completely sober.”
“Lucky me.”
The rest of the night was spent talking to the Peter Parker impersonator and you two hit it off quite well. Before your best friend came over, absolutely plastered and begged you to play beer pong with her. The boy dressed as Spider-Man quickly introduced himself as Daniel and slipped you his number before your best friend could drag you away into the mess of a party.
Seven years later and you were beyond grateful you met the love of your life at a Halloween party when you were 19. You and Daniel ended up dating for two years, married for one before your beautiful baby girl came into your life. You and Daniel were ecstatic when you found out you were expecting and when Daniel found out it was a girl, he was over the moon.
You knew he would spoil whatever child you two had together but having a girl meant Daniel had a little princess in his life. He lived dressing her up, taking her out on daddy-daughter dates, bringing her to the studio, singing to her, all of it. He was the perfect father to your little girl and it was all you ever asked for.
Flash forward four years and it was your baby’s first real Halloween. You had taken Sailor, your daughter, trick or treating with Daniel before but being young she didn’t enjoy it as much and couldn’t eat much candy.
You had originally thought of doing Harry Potter-themed costumes or The Incredibles but your daughter insisted on being a princess this year and you obliged. You decided as a family you would be Belle, Daniel would be the Beast (but after he’s transformed into the prince), and your daughter would be your princess.
“Darling! Are you almost ready?” Daniel calls up the stairs. You were finishing up the touches on Sailors hair and set down the curling iron and turned it off.
“Okay, princess ready?” you ask her.
She nods and stands from her chair before heading straight over to the mirror. When she sees her reflection, she gasps and starts to jump up and down.
“I love it mom!” she squeals and you smile at your daughter.
You scoop her up into your arms, making sure not to mess up either of your costumes before heading downstairs where your husband waits. Descending the stairs, you hear Daniels reaction immediately and it’s like your 19 again when your heart flutters.
“My beautiful girls,” he says smiling that heart-stopping smile. “My queen and my princess.”
You set Sailor down, leaning over to kiss Daniel and he grabs your waist pulling you in. For once, your daughter doesn’t make a throw-up noise at the two of you and instead coos at her parents all dressed up like a king and a queen.
The three of you finally head out and start trick or treating, Sailor holding both yours and Daniels hands the entire time and you’re filled with that childlike wonder again. You loved seeing Sailor so happy wandering around the streets and filling up her tiny pumpkin basket with candy that she’d no doubt devour later.
Not only did you get to experience what it was like to be a kid again, you had the love of your life next to you, and your beautiful daughter. You wouldn’t trade any of this for the world.
By the end of the night, Sailor is beat and Daniel carries her back to the house before putting her to bed. After she’s changed and settled into bed, Daniel comes back to where you’re relaxed on the living room couch, still decked out in a princess dress.
“My queen,” he says extending a hand to you and you giggle but take it anyway.
He lifts you off the couch and into his arms, swaying the two of you back and forth to the imaginary music. You rest your head on his chest, smiling contently as he places a light kiss on your head and you know this man will always have your heart.
“You’ve always been royalty to me you know that?” he whispers and your heart swells.
“I love you,” you whisper.
“I love you too.”
A few days pass since Halloween and your daughter won’t stop talking about what she wants to be next year. You find it endearing, even though you know she won’t remember what she wanted to be a year from now. And of course, you give her Halloween candy every day so she doesn’t eat it all at once.
“Sailor?” Daniel calls one day when you and her are relaxing in the living room.
He walks in, holding something behind his back and you give him a questioning look. He shoots you a wink, only confusing you more before approaching your daughter.
“Princess?” He asks and Sailor sits up to give him his full attention.
“I ate all your Halloween candy while you were with mom today,” he says and pulls out the empty pumpkin-shaped basket that she used on Halloween.
“Daniel!” you exclaim and he winks at you again and you go quiet waiting for your daughter’s reaction.
“You ate it all?” she asks quietly and while it’s starting to dawn on you that your husband is pulling a prank your heart still aches for your baby.
“I’m sorry baby girl I was hungry so I ate all your Halloween candy,” he repeats and you watch as Sailors face drops for a second but then she shrugs her shoulders.
“That’s okay daddy.”
Daniel’s jaw drops open and his eyes snap to yours and you shrug your shoulders. He turns back to your daughter and watches as she inspects the basket to see nothing is in there.
“Are you sure baby?” he asks.
“It’s okay daddy I’m sure,” she says and you can’t help but audibly aww at your daughter.
“Sailor!” Daniel coos before scooping up your daughter into his arms and swinging her around the room. The action makes her laugh as Daniel bounces her around before landing her carefully back onto the sofa and reaching for her sides to tickle her.
“I was joking Princess! Your candy is upstairs.”
“It is?” she asks hope present in her tiny blue eyes.
“All of it,” he says pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“Yay!” she cheers before escaping Daniels hold and running upstairs to her room to grab some candy that she previously thought was gone.
“Our daughter is perfect,” Daniel says coming to sit down next to you and wrapping you up in his arms.
“She really is.”

Part 2 of: In My Arms - Zach Herron
Tumblr media
Zach Herron x fem!reader (she/her pronouns) last part of part 1
Summary: Your husband is back after being gone for a while. (angst to fluff)
AN: I couldnt keep it angsty the whole time lol. I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Go read the first part if you want. Angsty at the beginning but turns fluff. Come talk to me once you're done.
————————————————————
(This takes place after Zach gets back from the writing session and the kids are asleep)
Y/N’s POV
There’s an amazing amount of tension in a room that just has two people in it. It’s just me and Zach in the kitchen. The kids have been put to bed hours ago.
I’m sitting on top of the kitchen island, while Zach stands at the entrance of the kitchen. Not knowing what to do, I picked up the glass I was drinking water out of. While I walk over to the dishwasher, I can feel his eyes on me. I just continued with what I was doing. Focusing on my hands and tuning him out. Trying anything to forget that Zach is right there.
Zach got back from the writing session just a couple of hours ago. He spent the time with the kids while I stayed off to the side. I didn’t want to start anything in front of them. They don’t need to experience that. Now that they’re asleep, I don’t have to pretend that everything’s alright.
“Hello? Are you even going to talk to me?” my husband’s voice resounds all around the kitchen as he walks closer to me.
Quickly walking out of the kitchen, I hear Zach slam his hand on the countertop before following after me into the living room.
“Babe, what is going on with you?” he asks. Just by the way he said that, I can tell that he’s becoming increasingly worried.
Sitting down on the couch (that I spent most of the nights crying and sleeping on. I couldn’t sleep on our bed because it brought back so many memories. But, he doesn’t need to know that) I fold my arms and look at anything but him. That is enough for him to know that something is seriously wrong.
“Oh, the silent treatment. Really?” he scoffed while shaking his head.
“Real fucking mature Y/N.” he said sarcastically.
That’s what caught my attention. Quickly standing up and making eye contact with him I can’t help but say,
“Says you, the one who was out partying at a club and chea-“ I cut myself off before I finish the sentence. If I say it out loud, I’m afraid that it might come true. That would be horrible for me and the kids. I know what it’s like to grow up with divorced parents. It's literal shit. I do not want my kids to experience that.
“No, go ahead and say it Y/N. Say it to my face” he responds with malice in his voice.
When I open my mouth to speak, the words get stuck in the back of my throat.
“If you’re going to accuse me of cheating on you at least have the decency to say it to my face” he yells angrily, taking a step towards me.
Shaking my head no, I look down so he won’t be able to see the tears forming in my eyes.
“No what Y/N? You need to talk to me,” the way the tone of his voice changed surprised me. I was expecting him to still yell at me and have that angry look in his eyes. However, when I looked up I saw the worried and caring eyes I fell in love with all those years ago.
Zach walked closer and pulled me into his arms.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you babe. I’m just tired and haven’t been feeling the best without my amazing family by my side. I know that’s not an excuse, but I really need you to talk to me. What’s going on?”
Sniffling I look up at him and I can’t help but to let it all out,
“That night when I called you there was a woman in the background. She asked if you were ready. You hung up right away and said that you didn’t want me to hear her and that was what started it all. I tried telling myself that I was being irrational but then…”
“Y/N, honey…” Zach says
“No, let me finish, please,” he nods, “then I remembered that you didn’t call or answer our calls for five days before that. That put a big toll on me and on our kids. It just hurt so much,” I take a deep breath before continuing. “Then to top it all off, you call me from a club and criticize my parenting,” my voice becomes bitter “when you know how hard I try especially when you’re not here.
“You want to know what really made it worse, I hear that woman’s voice again. I don’t get to see my husband for who knows how long and then, having to hear this woman’s voice every time I call. You weren’t here and I didn’t have anyone's support. That’s why I’ve been…” I get cut off by my own sob.
“…why you have been sleeping on the couch and crying most nights,” Zach finishes for me.
Shock passes my face. I stumble out, “how did you know?”
He can’t help the smile appear on his face, “your incredible kids did. Riley and Sophia told me they saw you crying on the couch one day. And that you never went up to bed and they always heard crying noises,” the smile disappears, “Okay I’m going to explain now but it might be long so be ready,” he finishes.
“You don’t hav-” I start but get cut off.
“Oh no missy don’t even start. I know you want an explanation and you deserve to hear from me.”
He takes a deep breath before continuing.
“I know that you think I was cheating but it was nothing like that. The woman you heard was a realtor. I was looking for a house to buy since I know you wanted a place to travel to during the summer and winter time and that you love that part of the country. I was so busy that when I was done it was already so late that I didn’t want to call. That’s why I didn’t call for those five days. Then when you called, we were just getting ready to go look at a house that I had a good feeling about. She asked if I was ready to leave and I responded how I did because I didn’t want you to hear her because I was afraid she was going to spoil the surprise. I hung up quickly just in case. I’m sorry for that. About what I said in the club, I was drunk and I was just taking my insecurities out on you. I know you’re an amazing mom and those kids wouldn’t be who they are without you. There’s a reason why I put four children in you,” he gives me a cheeky smile.
“I just so happened to run into her at the club with her girlfriend. She said that I had to figure out what I wanted before I left in regards to the houses we saw. I know it must have sounded wrong but it meant nothing. I’m sorry if you felt like I was lying and I’m sorry if it felt like I broke my promises. I know what you were probably thinking at night all alone Y/N. So I’m telling you this right now and I mean it truthfully, you will always be safe in my arms Y/N. Nothing, not even a fucking house can tear us apart.”
I smiled at him, thankful for his explanation. I knew I made the right decision in saying yes when he proposed. All of my worries seemed to disappear. We were going through a hard time in our relationship, but the important things stayed the same. He is an amazing husband and father just as I am an amazing wife and mother. Relationships are never easy but when they get hard, it’s up to the two people in love to make up for it and I think Zach and I did an amazing job. “I understand Zach, I'm so sorry for how I reacted.”
“It’s alright babe. Come on let’s go cuddle upstairs in our bed together, before the kiddos wake up.
And that’s exactly what we did. In each other's arms.
(And yes Zach got me the most amazing vacation house ever. I can’t wait to check it out.)
———————————————
AN: Ahhhh okay here it is. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think down below. Love you all and have a great rest of your day!

I wouldn’t know what consistency was if one road’s directions had CONSISTENCY written in massive bold letters. I’d somehow manage to yank the steering wheel in the opposite direction, swerving back into the main highway and complete missing the exit. There goes my coffee.
Anyone want to give a girls some inspiration?

first sleepover (j.m.)
a/n: hey! i apologise for not posting in ages but i really hope you enjoy this imagine, especially the lovely anon that requested it (and has been waiting very very very patiently<3)
summary: this request! you spend the night at jonah’s apartment for the first time.
Tumblr media
under the starry glow of the ceiling projector, you watch the credits of Me Before You roll on the brightly-lit screen of jonah’s laptop, the small names reflecting in your eyes as they make their journey over each person in the cast and crew. your soft sniffles go unnoticed by the boy beside you, whose body went limp with sleep at what seemed to be the half-way mark, his head nestled into your chest, unruly brunette strands tickling your skin as you scratched his scalp tenderly. you considered pausing the movie to let him sleep, not only in your arms but also in the unusual quietness that cradled the neighbourhood. yet, between the snug sensation of his weight upon your chest and his muffled snores whispering through his bedroom, you weren’t too worried about the noise possibly waking jonah up. plus, there was no chance you were willingly going to deprive yourself of lou and will’s beautiful yet bittersweet love story; their romance was too compelling to stop watching.
although now, you press your lips to his forehead for a final kiss before peeling off the blankets and easing out of bed, bringing the empty popcorn bowl and empty box of tissues with you to the kitchen. the transition from his room, rendered with a vivid blue to the scarce lighting in the rest of the apartment catches you off guard, causing you to nearly stumble over the cat padding silently across the hallway. “hey there, little guy” you breathe out. wesley’s dark fur tickles your ankles as you crouch down to greet him with a quick scratch under his chin before he slinks off into jonah’s room through the small crack in the door.
you set the empty bowl in the sink, throw the empty box in the recycling and take a cup from the drying rack, placing it under the running faucet to chug a glass of water before shuffling around the kitchen quietly to look for a snack. you begin scanning the cluttered cabinets for something to eat. usually, jonah’s home would be brimming with all the food and snacks one could wish for but tonight seems to be an exception. after a while of searching to no avail, you find yourself reaching for the handles of the cabinets that store his cutlery and dishes, hoping to find a stray packet of chips or candy, but you end up finding something way more interesting than a mere packet of sweets. the sight of an almost full gift bag with pastel dyed tissue paper peeking out of the top tugs up the corners of your lips, and in remembering the significance of this particular saturday night, you can’t help but succumb to the giddy feelings that creep over you, warming your skin from head to toe.
you don’t want to make this occasion a big deal, to put too much weight on something many couples simply consider the norm. however, to say you aren’t excited about sleeping over at his apartment for the first time would be an understatement. you carefully pull out the gift bag from its place hidden behind the plates in the cupboard, hastily glancing around the place as if you don’t want to be caught red handed sneaking a glimpse at what is inside.
wesley, seemingly unbothered by your disappearance into the kitchen, had occupied your spot in bed next to jonah and curled into his chest. soon enough, jonah is awoken by the movements of his cat, spreading his consciousness further as he rubs his eyes. he leans forward, a sleepy groan slipping past his lips as he props his elbows on the mattress to find you disguised in the neon blue light of his room, but his eyes only meet the beams of a distant street-lamp, its light bleeding through the blinds and the colourful, swirling ribbons of his laptop’s screensaver.
“y/n,” he calls your name weakly, confused as to why you’re not cuddled beside him. though it isn’t long until he guesses that you’re in the kitchen, proven by the distant sounds of the cabinet doors and drawers closing and the crinkling of food wrappers. the sounds prompt the memory of the gifts he’d bought earlier in the week, and the question of whether his hiding spot for the said gifts was good enough anchors a sense of nervousness in his mind. but it isn’t until he sees a glimmer of the pastel coloured gift bag from around the corner through the small opening of his door that he feels a panicked lump form in his throat.
he jumps up out of bed, almost bumping into you as you walk in gleefully with the gift bag dangling from your forearm. “y/n,” he sighs. his raspy voice is drenched in disappointment, but you notice it in his face first as you halt your attempt to sneak through the doorway into his ensuite. it’s written in his features from his creased eyebrows to the gentle frown playing at his lips and you feel the awful sensation of guilt hollowing a pit in your stomach for ruining what seems to be his planned surprise.
“i was only going to eat a little,” you mumble, looking up at him bashfully, referring to the handful of sweets you had secretly eaten.
“‘a  little’, huh?” he chuckles, bringing your hand up to challenge your obvious lie with the sight of a fistful of candy wrappers clutched slyly in your grasp.
“yep,” you move your hand back to your side, attempting to change the subject. “you are the sweetest though, you know that? getting me all this,” you’re hoping the wide grin on your face withers away his disappointment and you glance down at the gift bag, gaze scrolling over the several, small gifts he had bought you, from the plentiful snacks and candy to the new skincare products he knew you loved to use.
“i thought i hid that gift pretty well,” he admits, slumping back onto the bed with a deep sigh, his gaze swimming over the artificial stars dappling the ceiling.
“never underestimate me when i’m hungry. i practically have a sixth sense when it comes to finding something to eat” you joke light-heartedly, though it doesn’t seem to perk up jonah’s deflated mood. “it’s okay though, i was so surprised when i saw it.” you offer him a reassuring smile, reaching for his hands to pull him up so he’s sitting upright. you’re crouched down in front of him, caressing his hand in yours, “you fell asleep during the movie, i ruined your surprise,” you realise these two events are of differing severity but still add “can we call it even? kinda?”, giving him the brightest grin, you can muster at this hour.
“sure.” he pulls a tight smile, and a few seconds pass until he reveals “i also have another surprise.” he adores the way your face lights up, “but wait here,” he sets his hands on your arms, urging you to sit on the bed patiently. “i’m not letting you spoil this one too.”
jonah heads straight to the en-suite, switching on the light before he turns to the countertop to retrieve two sets of matching pyjamas in the cabinet under the sink. he flashes a warm smile once he walks back into the bedroom, offering out one set of black, velvet pyjamas to you. the two of you agree, along with many others, that wearing a pair of brand-new, soft pyjamas is simply one of the best, most pleasant feelings, so jonah expected nothing less than the beaming grin that swept across your face. “oh my god, i love them!” you push off the bed excitedly, moving to kiss his cheek once “thank you! thank you! thank you!” you clutch the pyjamas to your chest as you rush into the bathroom to put them on, leaving jonah in your wake, chuckling at your obvious eagerness.
a cozy vibe soon settles around the two of you as you progress through the steps of your individual nightly routines. the low hum of music jonah had put on at your request is accompanied by the gentle murmur of your conversation and the calming scents of a nearby candle wisping into the bathroom. you had suggested the two of you put on the face masks, one of the items jonah had generously gifted you, earning not only an agreement from jonah but also a keen request to go first. now, you’re both standing behind the mirror, facing each other and sporting your matching velvet pyjamas while jonah finishes applying the face mask to your face.
“okay,” he smiles, passing you the bowl with a gentle kiss, “my turn.”
you laugh lightly at his eagerness. “are you enjoying this?” you inquire, mixing the paste haphazardly with the brush.
“yeah,”
“like actually enjoying this? because we can do something else if you want. we could play a video game or-”
“no, y/n. i am enjoying this. i enjoy absolutely everything when i’m with you.”
“really?”
“of course.” he leans down to share a few kisses, “now, hurry up, i expect you to be done tonight, not two years from now,” he jokes, receiving a scoff in fake offence and a light shove to his shoulder.
despite the cooling sensation the face mask was supposed to have on your skin, you feel every inch of it heating up from his words - especially the loving line ‘i enjoy absolutely everything when i’m with you’ that he reveals so effortlessly - and the touch of his lips. the love etched in each syllable drips over you like the moonlight trickling in through the bare bathroom window and the feeling of his lips on yours quickens your heartbeat as much as if you'd just completed a sprint. you hope this never changes, that you never get tired of his flirtatious smiles whenever his gaze lingers on you, the amused twist of his lips whenever he makes a joke at your expense, or the way his arm always finds its way across your waist when you cuddle. you know for a fact that you’ll never get over nights like these, where you and jonah can let go of everything and simply show each other love.
there aren’t any expectations to do or say anything when you're just in each other’s presence, no pressure of finding something to say in conversational silences or filling every moment together with an activity. you wouldn’t trade anything for these ordinary and silent moments with him. it’s quiet when you’re finishing applying the face mask to his face, dipping the brush a final time to fill any missed spots. you drop the brush into the bowl when you’re done. “perfect” your grin is contagious. your eyes meet once again and your smiles press against each other’s for another loving kiss. as per the directions, the pair of you wait several minutes before washing off the face masks. jonah’s patting his face with a hand towel, droplets of water rolling over his skin when you pipe up with a question.
your face is freshly moisturised and glowing under the bright overhead lighting. “what’s next?” you prompt, clasping your hands together enthusiastically.
jonah turns to his phone on the bathroom countertop, tapping his screen to glance at the time before he responds. the numbers 12:32am on the screen seem to make him more tired and he looks back at you. a yawn tumbles from his lips as he asks “wanna watch some netflix?” the suggestion is a simple one, but a perfect one nonetheless, and you agree with a nod before taking his hand and making your way out the adjoining bathroom to his bed.
wes hasn’t moved since you last saw him practically buried in the warm mess of blankets, but as you and jonah plop onto the bed tiredly with content sighs, the cuddly cat wastes no time settling into the small space between the pair of you, relishing in the abundance of warmth and attention. jonah laughs lightly as you murmur an “awww”, your heart melting at the cat’s sweet action. he moves in closer, his hand finding yours as he shifts more comfortably against the headboard. he uses his free hand to pull his idle laptop on his lap and put netflix back on. as he scrolls through the countless movies, you bring the gift bag up on the bed and search for another snack, ultimately deciding on m&m’s.
“thanks for tonight j,” you let your head drop lazily on jonah’s shoulder, inviting him to share the packet of m&m’s with you.
“my pleasure, baby, tonight’s about you and me,” his fingers find the roots of you hair and he plops a handful into his mouth, brushing his fingers through the strands.
“us”.  you correct him.
“exactly,” he offers you a bright smile, “which is why i think it’s only fair that it's my turn to pick a movie” he pushes the laptop in the middle.
you can’t help but be a little sceptical, jonah’s full of surprises. “okay, what is it?”
“top gun”
“that’s fine. but i’m not letting you off the hook. you still need to finish watching ‘me before you’. you argue, thoughts travelling back to the memories of the film as he presses the spacebar to start the second movie of the night.
“deal,” the two of you seal the agreement with a handshake.
however, only five minutes into the movie, you find yourself in the position jonah was in earlier, your eyelids closing under the weight of happy exhaustion and your mind captured by thoughts other than those of the film in front of you. you’re unsure whether the amount of sugar you had consumed is to blame or the calming, naturally sleep-inducing company of your boyfriend. it seems the roles have reversed now, and it’s jonah who has his arm slung over your shoulders while you’re asleep in his loving embrace. well, not totally asleep, because the moment he removes his arm from around your shoulders, slowly inching his legs to the edge of the bed under the blankets, you wake up, eyes squinting as you mumble, “don’t move.”
your arm interlocks with his when he tries again, “i’m just going to get some water, i’ll be a second”. he places a soft kiss to your forehead, but it doesn’t suffice.
“no, please don’t move. you’re warm and if you leave, i won’t be comfy anymore.” you try to give him a warning look, but suspect that it isn’t as threatening as you hope because you only a ripple of muffled giggles in response.
there’s no denying the rosy colour blooming on jonah’s cheeks at your words and the smile dimpling his cheeks is evident in his voice as he rubs a hand over your back, “okay, y/n. whatever you want.”

Hard || Corbyn Besson
Summary : kinda based on wdw’s hard (if you haven’t heard the song yet it’s basically Corbyn likes his best friend, but she’s oblivious and is in a relationship, and one day her boyfriend hurts her so she goes to Corbyn for comfort)
Warnings : slight hint of sexual abuse, but other than that it’s just some Corbyn fluff
Word Count : 1.9k
A/n : Yeah so I really like their song hard, I think it’s nice to have someone who got your back, and gives you a shoulder to cry on, plus I’m a new limelight, so I’m like writing this and waiting for their comeback,,,,
Also this kinda involves their cover of Adele’s make you feel my love, because I went to heaven after I heard their cover, and you should really hear it if you haven’t
~~~
November 25th (as you all know) is Corbyn’s birthday.
He was your best friend, and of course you wanted to be the first ever person to wish him happy birthday, so you called him at 11:57pm the night before even though you were dead tired.
“Heyyy Corbone,” you said to the phone when he picked up at the third ring.
“What’s up y/n? Wait.. Aren’t you supposed to be in bed now?” Corbyn asked, he knew that you take part-time jobs at a nearby cafe after school to support your college fees and he knew how exhausted you probably were.
“Whatttt, and miss being the first person to wish you a happy birthday? No thanks,” You teased.
“Really? Aww,” the boy answered, a bit flustered. You could literally hear his smile over the phone.
You chuckled, and you talk about the most random of things until the clock ticked 12:00.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” You practically screamed to the phone. “You’re 20 now, you dork. Go get a girl or something, don‘t wait till you’re too old for crushes,” you egged him on.
You’ve known Corbyn for your whole life, but have never seen him date any girl. You were the one close friend of him who is a girl, and you were honestly worried about his sexuality as he has not shown any interest to any other girls OR guys, which u concluded after (half) stalking him on the campus, wondering if he was gay, which is honestly super fine if he was, but yeah.
“You say that every yearrr,” Corbyn complained.
“Wait I still haven’t got your birthday present because I don’t know what you want, so just tell me if there’s anything on you wishlist?” you asked.
“Oh, sure thanks,” the blonde boy replied.
“Wait, um do you want to hang out tomorrow?” He continued, crossing his fingers wishing that you’d say yes.
You, on the other hand, oblivious to Corbyn’s wish, rejected politely because you promised that you would spend more time with your boyfriend.
“Sorry Corbs,” you shrugged into the phone. “Right, gotta sleep. See you tomorrow, birthday boy,” you said and hung up.
Corbyn’s heart panged with bitter sweetness. He was touched that you called him to be the first person to wish him a happy birthday, but he also knows that that would probably be the last time he will see you on his birthday, since you two don’t exactly have the same friend group.
You used to hang around with Corbyn a lot, just the two of you, but soon your boyfriend appeared and you had to spend time with your boyfriend too. Plus, college caught up and you were both too busy to spend time with each other.
It wasn’t that Corbyn’s not interested in girls, it’s just that he has fallen for his best friend, who was oblivious to his feelings AND not available. All Corbyn’s ever wanted for his birthday present is you, but who could get him that present?
~~~
The next day, Corbyn hung out with Jonah and Jack. He wasn’t exactly popular in school, unlike the social butterfly you were, making friends here and there.
Right now you were seated at the middle of the cafeteria with a table of friends, your boyfriend’s arm wrapped around your figure. A friend of yours shared something and made you laugh.
“Hey, have you told her yet?” Jonah asked, snapping Corbyn out of his trance.
“W-What?” Corbyn asked.
Jack sighed. “Of course it’s a solid no, or else why wouldn’t y/n be sitting here with him.”
Corbyn blushed at the mention of your name.
“Ugh, I’m just sick of Corbyn always staring at y/n while she doesn’t even notice,” Jonah groaned. “She’s your best friend. How could she be so oblivious?”
“I mean... she has a boyfriend,” Corbyn said, defending you, though his heart sinked a little at the mention of the champion who won your heart.
Jack shook his head in sympathy.
“Hey cheer up, it’s your birthday afterall,” Jonah said, lightening up the mood. “You wanna go to the arcade after school?”
At the mention of Corbyn’s favorite place on Earth, his eyes lit up.
“Sure!” Corbyn replied enthusiastically.
~~~
After spending the whole day at the arcade, Corbyn went back home.
He scrolled his Instragm feed and smiled when he saw that Jack posted a ridiculous picture of Corbyn as his birthday post. He was typing a comment when he heard a knock at his door.
Few people knew his address and it was quite late at night, so he was a bit confused, but opened the door anyway to reveal you. You, with messy hair, and disheveled clothes that seemed to be put on in a haste.
“Y/n? What are you-“ Corbyn started with wide eyes but was cut off by you breaking down. Corbyn’s eyes softened as his heart swelled at your crying figure.
He immediately pulled you inside and into his warm embrace where your sobs shook his frame. You fell to a million pieces but his hands came up and ran along your back to soothe you while whispering that it’s okay.
When your sobs subsided, he led you to the couch while he went to the kitchen to brew some hot tea.
He came back with two steaming mugs and gave one to you.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, then took a sip of the tea.
He nodded and wrapped his arms around you.
“Better?”
You nodded meekly, tired from all the crying.
“Do you want to tell me what happened?” he asked softly.
You opened your mouth, but all that came out was a sob.
Corbyn pulled you in closer. “It’s okay, you can tell me when you’re ready,” he whispered, never prodding you on if you’re uncomfortable.
You sighed into his hoodie. Your tears dampening the fabric yet Corbyn doesn’t seem to mind.
“My boyfriend,” you finally said, avoiding Corbyn’s gaze. “H-He tried to sexually abuse... me.”
Corbyn’s blood ran ice cold. How could anyone hurt such a sweet soul like you? He didn’t understand why anyone would want to make you cry so hard.
Now Corbyn’s blood boiled and his fist tightened. “I’m gonna make that bastard pay,” he said through gritted teeth, and tried to get up from the couch but you stopped him.
“It’s not.. worth the trouble,” you mumbled. “I-I mean I escaped before he began to get into it, but I was just,” you frantically explained. “I was just sc-scared when he pinned me down, he was so strong, and I couldn’t move.. and- and-“
“And it’s not the first time he’s tried that...” you whispered, broken.
Corbyn’s heart teared apart just as he teared up at your vulnerability.
“I-I’m sorry, you don’t deserve this,” Corbyn whispered as tears began to run down your face again.
He wiped your tears away with the back of his thumb. He was angry at your boyfriend for doing such a thing to you, but he also blamed himself for not seeing it in your boyfriend. All he’s ever wanted to do was to protect you, but he failed even at that.
He also blamed himself that if, he wasn’t such a coward, and had actually confessed his feelings for you, then you might have accepted him and avoided dating your current boyfriend.
“Hey,” you said softly, snapping Corbyn out of his thoughts. “Why do you look even more troubled than me?” you teased a little.
“I just... I wish I could’ve prevented it,” Corbyn mumbled. “I hate seeing you cry,” he added softly.
“Oh Corbs, you being here for me is enough,” you sniffed. “God, you don’t even know how much better you made me.”
Corbyn ran his hand down your silky hair.
“I thought... I thought you had a lot of friends to be here for you,” Corbyn admitted.
You sighed sadly. “Well.. yes, but they’re just a facade. No one but you can truly give me comfort,” you said softly. “And frankly I’d rather be with you.”
Corbyn’s heart fluttered at your words as both of you sat in the comfortable silence.
“Corbyn?” you mumbled. “Can you sing me a song?”
Corbyn smiled and started to sing with his honey sweet voice,
When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
Oh, I hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
He looked over at his shoulder and saw you sleeping peacefully. He thought you looked perfect, even with messy hair and smudged makeup.
He gently carried you to his bedroom and placed you on the bed, tucking you in. He also used the makeup wipes you left over before to clean your face.
Corbyn sighed as he watched your sleeping figure.
“You know, if i hadn’t been such a coward, maybe you wouldn’t have ended up with him,” he speaked softly to himself.
“Do you know? You look so beautiful when you’re asleep, and I wish I could be the one to tell you that every day, every morning. I wish that I could tell you I get lost in your eyes everytime I look at you, and your laugh is my favourite sound in the world. My heart skips a beat everytime I look at you, but I know that you’re occupied.”
“I never showed any interest in anyone, because you were already in my mind for the longest time.”
“I wish I could be the one to protect you, to love you, to live with you... I wish that I could call you mine, or call you my baby, because that’s- that’s who you are in my mind,” Corbyn confessed, knowing that you wouldn’t hear him.
“Corbyn,” you suddenly spoke up, your eyes fluttering open, for you have been awake for some time now, and heard Corbyn’s confession. “Do you really mean that?” A smile on your face while Corbyn jumped at your voice, cheeks flushing ridiculously red.
“I-I, yeah.. I t-thought you were asleep,” Corbyn stammered, looking anywhere but your eyes.
“You know what, Corbs, I like you too. A lot,” you confessed, cheeks turning pink as well.
“I-I’ve liked you for a long time, but I thought you didn’t show interest in anybody, so I just try to date other people to get you off my mind, but-“ you rambled, but got cut off when Corbyn placed his lips on yours.
Fireworks erupted as both your hearts swelled at the sweetness of the kiss. His lips were softer than you imagined, and his taste- God, you could taste him forever. He pulled away and hid in the crook of your neck, flushed.
You suddenly giggled at a thought.
Corbyn rose up from his position and looked at you with questioning eyes.
“Oh Corbyn, I just realized that the person I’ve spent my whole life looking for, has actually been here beside me this whole time,” you said.
Corbyn smiled as well and kissed you again, this time more passionate than the last.
“I promise to protect you better than all your boyfriends, baby,” Corbyn said, breathless after the kiss.
You smiled so hard at your new pet name.
“Can you say it again?” you requested.
“Baby,” Corbyn replied, smiling at how much happiness he can give you by saying a word.
“Baby, baby, baby, my babygirl...” he continued, kissing your forehead, your nose, your cheeks, all over your face, making you laugh at the love he gives you.
Then Corbyn laughed with you, and thought, best. birthday. ever.
Winter Things
Type: One-shot about Jonah Rated: PG Word Count: 1800+ Requested: Y/N Enjoy!
I love wintertime, it's time for snug clothes and plenty of holiday cheer. It just seemed to bring out the best of people and I loved the season. It was also the time where we both were really busy.
“Babe?” he asked as he made his way downstairs.
“I'm in the office baby” I responded. “
What are you up to?” he questioned as he leaned against the door frame.
“Just making list,” I said.
“And checking them twice?” he chuckled slightly.
“Maybe,” I said as I got up from my chair.
I made my way over to where he was standing, placing my hand against his chest. He smiled as he leaned down and kissed me softly.
“What do you have planned?” I asked.
“Just wondering if you wanted to go to a bonfire down by the beach” he brushed the hair from my face.
“That sounds fun,” I said as I looked up at him.
“Jack is hosting at his beach house,” he said.
“Well let me go get ready and ill be all ready to go” I smile.
“Ok babe” he leaned down and kissed me softly.
I went upstairs to figure out what I wanted to wear. I didn't want to take a shower and then be in the cold, I surly didn't need to be getting sick. I picked out my black jeans and just a random top. I grabbed a jacket before making my way back downstairs. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed his hand as he was waiting for me.
“Ready?” I asked.
“Always” he smiled as he got up.
We left the apartment and headed down towards the beach. He parked the car and came around to open my door. I smiled and got out, grabbing his hand as he shut the door. We made our way down to where the fire was at. I took a seat next to the fire and Jonah disappeared and I had zero clues where he went. I shrugged it off as I enjoyed the fire, but I must admit it was still cold. I felt someone wrap a blanket around me, it was Jonah as he sat next to me.
“Thank you,” I said as I looked at him.
“I got us blankets and hot cocoa,” he said as he handed me my cup. I smiled and took a small sip from the cup. I snuggled closer to him as we enjoyed the fire.
“Are you cold?” he questioned.
“Nope,” I said as I played with his fingers.
“good” he held me closer to him.
Once more people starting showing up we moved around and started talking to people. There were a few games that we played as well, it was just a low key event. It was nice to have an easy night because our lives can get crazy at times. I lost him in the house somewhere so I started walking towards the beach. I stood near the shore making sure I wouldn't get wet, it was peaceful yet so dangerous at the same time. I held the blanket closer to me as the breeze came from the water was cold. Jonah sneaked up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. I jumped slightly but realized it was him, I leaned back against him. He rested his head against my shoulders.
“I love moments like this” he whispered.
“I love moments like this with you,” I said as I placed my hand on his.
“I do too” he kissed my cheek.
“I love the moments where things are slow and it is just us enjoying each other,” I said.
“I wish we had more time to do things like this,” he said.
“I love our life together and I wouldn't change it” I turned to face him.
“I know and I love you,” he said as he placed his hand against my cheek.
“I love you,” I said as I looked up at him.
He leaned down slightly and kissed me softly. I smiled against his lips before kissing him back, wrapping the blanket around us both. He pulled me closer to him as he wrapped his arms around my waist. He pulled away slightly and rested his forehead against mine. We heard people in the background yelling for us to return. We both chuckled and we returned to the bonfire. We made our way inside where we found Jack giving out jello shots. We took a few shots and played a few rounds of twister but it seemed like Jonah and I always lost. I guess we couldn't keep our hands off of each other or that we couldn't stop laughing.
“We suck at twister” I laughed as I fell onto him.
“Yea we do” he laughed as he fell backward.
“Let's go get some hot cocoa and sit by the fire” I suggested.
“Sure,” he said as he got up and helped me up.
We walked into the kitchen and got the hot cocoa. I also make sure to grab a blanket before we made our way back outside. We sat down by the fire and he wrapped the blanket around us. Pulling me close to him, I rested my head against his shoulder. Soon we both started getting tired so we left the bonfire and went back to the apartment. I ran a hot bubble bath for us both. We both got into the tub and I laid back on him. He wrapped his arms around me as we started warming up in the tub. We finally got out and I wrapped myself in a towel before going into the bedroom. I got dressed in one of his oversize shirts and slipped on a pair of panties. He came in behind me and put a pair of boxers on before we got into bed. I snuggled to his chest as he wrapped a blanket around us. I fell asleep against him and he wasn't too far behind me as he also fell asleep. In the morning I snuggled closer to him as I felt the cold air rushing in. I finally woke up and remembered that we didn't turn the heat on last night. I got out of bed and slipped on my slippers before making my way downstairs. I turned on the heat but I could see why it was so cold. It was snowing I smiled to myself as I looked out the window. I turned on the tv to see how much snow we would get. I also make tea before sitting down on the couch with a blanket.
“Why didn't you come back to bed” he groaned as he made his way downstairs.
“Because someone needed to turn on the heat,” I said.
“Forgot last night,” he said as he made his way into the kitchen.
“Look out the window babe,” I said.
“Whoa, it's snowing,” he said.
“Yea and we are looking into getting a lot,” I said.
“It's a blizzard,” he said as he came back into the living room.
“Yea so much snow” I took a sip from my cup.
“Tea drinkers” he rolled his eyes as he took a sip of his coffee.
“Oh hush it” I rolled my eyes at him.
“Looks like we are stuck in the house” he looked at me.
“That could be fun” I smirked as I took another sip from my cup.
“Always fun with you,” he said.
Once he finished his coffee he came and sat next to me. Pulling me onto his lap so I could wrap the blanket around us both. I snuggled close to him resting my head against his shoulder. Tracing patterns on his chest as he just held me close to him.
“Want to go play in the snow?” he whispered in my ear.
“Maybe in a little while,” I said as I snuggled closer to him.
“Fine by me, I love cuddling you” he smiled as he kissed my cheek.
“Love being close to you,” I said.
He held me close to him as he switched the channels on the tv. I ended up falling back to sleep against him. Later on, when I finally woke up there was so much snow. I went and got my warm clothes as well as a jacket before going outside. He wasn't too far behind me as he ran into the snow. I chuckled slightly as I finally made my way into the snow. We started throwing snowballs at each other.
“Hey that's cold,” I said as I threw a snow ball at him.
“Hey!” he yelled as it hit him in the face.
“Oops” I laughed slightly as he threw another one at me.
The snow was still falling as we were playing around. I went to grab more snow and I slipped. I laughed at myself as he made his way over to where I had fallen. I started to make a snow angel as I looked up at him, he helped me up so that I would make a perfect snow angel.
“Perfect” he smiled as he wrapped his arms around me.
“Just like us” I smiled as I looked up at him.
“I love the snow, so beautiful when it's falling” he looked up at the sky.
“Yea it is” I rested my head against his chest.
“Let's build an igloo,” he said.
“Sounds fun but do you know how?” I questioned.
“It's fun to learn” he chuckled slightly.
We started making one but let's just say it didn't go as planned. It was way harder than we thought it be but we kinda build a fort. It didn't have a roof or anything but he was so proud of it. It started getting dark outside and I was so ready to go inside and get warm. I grabbed his hand and took him inside with me, we hung up our jackets in the laundry room. They were soaking wet, I slipped my boots off at the door. I started warming the water up so I could make hot cocoa as he disappeared into the den. I could hear him starting a fire, soon the house smelled like fire and you could hear the crackling of the wood. I made our hot cocoa and went to find where he was, he already had the blankets ready for us. I placed the cups on the table and I sat next to him. I snuggled close to him and just enjoyed the fire until he turned on a movie. We snuggled with each other for the rest of the night, I loved it when it was winter time because we both slowed down from our jobs. Which meant we had more time to do winter things together.
