Housing is not just a “human right” in an abstract sense, but a necessity for life. Our society and government are participating in ‘social murder.’

The term ‘social murder’ was coined by Fredrich Engels in his 1845 work “The Condition of the Working-Class in England.”

When one individual inflicts bodily injury upon another such that death results, we call the deed manslaughter; when the assailant knew in advance that the injury would be fatal, we call his deed murder. But when society places hundreds of proletarians in such a position that they inevitably meet a too early and an unnatural death, one which is quite as much a death by violence as that by the sword or bullet; when it deprives thousands of the necessaries of life, places them under conditions in which they cannot live – forces them, through the strong arm of the law, to remain in such conditions until that death ensues which is the inevitable consequence – knows that these thousands of victims must perish, and yet permits these conditions to remain, its deed is murder just as surely as the deed of the single individual; disguised, malicious murder, murder against which none can defend himself, which does not seem what it is, because no man sees the murderer, because the death of the victim seems a natural one, since the offence is more one of omission than of commission. A couple months ago I learned that my county was going to be giving away trees. I decided I wanted free trees so I went to the list of available ones, picked out the types that would fit well into my yard, and submitted my request before the deadline. Each person was able to pick up to three trees, and they weren’t guaranteed.

I just learned that I got approved on all three trees I wanted. Two for my backyard on the side, and one for my front yard over in the front corner. I have a class in early October to show the care and planting of the trees and I even got some help to plant them.

Can’t wait! Free trees!

These are the three I chose. Two Persian Spire parrotias and one Chinese pistache.

SeaTac (Seattle) airport roadway blocked for hours. 43 arrested.

Protestors in Seattle blocked the roadway into SeaTac airport for over 3 hours!! Autonomous organizers in Seattle chose the airport as their target because of its role an economic hub, as well as direct ties between Alaska Airlines with arms manufacturer Boeing. Alaska Airlines flights represents over half of passenger flights into and out of SeaTac, and in addition to contracting with the company responsible for manufacturing weapons used in Israel's deplorable and unlawful attacks on Palestinian civilians, Alaska Airlines supports Israel through partnership with EL AL Israel Airlines. Seattle will not be complicit in genocide!!!

Lastly, we all know we are in late stage capitalism and everything sucks. Nihilism is dominant feelz. We must also remember the rich and diverse fights for the right to vote. For privileged people it is a responsibility.
