kirbytober day 6: garden/royalty

ok ive never talked about queen ripple before and i never got the chance to so here are my headcanons for her 👇

ok so in my mind i think she's a fairly young ruler, 17-ish at most. she had to take the throne early due to the passing of her grandmother (who died sealing galacta knight) they have long lifespans okkk

because of this queen ripple is kinda going through a lot of pressure and has a lot of insecurities. i am hitting her with the anxiety beam.

she's very sweet though, and appointed ribbon as her royal advisor/crystal shard protector/little sister/successor

ribbon kind of just showed up at ripple's doorstep and she went "this is mine now"

ripple has crippling eldest daughter syndrome

she writes so many letters to dedede asking for ruling advice. dedede is not the best person to ask for this sort of situation. they help each other out though

Brushed the dust off my markers and did a bit of traditional art for Kirbtober 2023! This was a much needed exercise as I’m quite rusty!

As you may have been able to tell, October has been a super busy month in both my personal and work life!! All is well but I’ll only get to a select few prompts!

When making these I tried to embrace the imperfections and commitment that comes with traditional art. Which was a good challenge. These aren’t perfect, but I’m glad I made them. :)

Kirbtober Day 3:

Food

“I had no plans to spend the day today, so I went over to Dedede’s castle to see if we could hang out. He said he was planning on making cupcakes to surprise Meta Knight and Meladee when they return home from sword training. I offered to help, and he let me. So together, we spent about a good hour or two in the kitchen whipping up some delicious cupcakes, making sure each one was perfect! It was so much fun! Cleaning up the big mess we left when we were finished? Not so much…”

drawing this in digital against a black bg would be a piece of cake. unfortunately, as we've figured it out, my hubris shall be my fucking downfall, so i made everything harder for myself by having to outline every teal line with black and fill in bg around them. OW.
