Well I'm here again!

This time I bring you all the first chapter from my New mini series, I don't know how many chapter it will have because I'm writing it when new ideas come to my mind.

I started the story before the end of the world because we all know the TWD story, maybe I'll write until the CDC, I'm not sure. But I'm not going to write a whole new TWD story following the TV show line, maybe it could be more like a prequel or something like that... I'm still thinking about it!! I don't know if I have to put it like a AU fanfiction either...

Anyway!! I hope you like it!!

Maybe the first one is shorter than the stories I usually post here, but I was exciting to know what all of you think about it! I promise the next ones will be longer.

You walk in all tucked up and buttoning your work shirt. You cross the counter and your coworkers look at you with an amused smile.

"Sorry." You say making a small grimace of apology, the clerk laughs again.

"Long night?" she jokes and you groan softly. "Don't worry, we've already clocked in for you."

"Thank you...and no, I wish it had been that." You sigh and they look at you curiously. "The guy wouldn't stop talking and in the end he didn't even walk me home...it was a waste of time."

"Sorry, he seemed more interesting." They look at you apologetically and you put on your uniform jacket to start working. "We still don't have your badge..." She says when she sees you put on the badge with the name of a former colleague.

"It doesn't matter, I've only been here two weeks, and I don't care if they think I'm someone else." You joke.

You came to Senoia in search of a new life, you moved away from your old town and family wanting to do something else, of course Senoia was small and quiet, but it gave you the peace you needed. After a few days looking for a job you found a vacant position in the town supermarket, one of the girls had found her destined mate, his name appeared on her arm, apparently he was a childhood friend, soon after he also found her name and they became engaged.

For as long as mankind has been aware of it, people have been fated. They do not know how or why, but in some people over the years, as if it were a tattoo, the name of a person appears on their skin. Sometimes they are friends, acquaintances, sometimes they are complete strangers who are destined to meet at some point in their lives and start a new one together. Many people think it's romantic, they think it's poetic, others think it's manipulation, a government invention to keep everyone under control. Apparently everyone seems to accept that this must be so, they accept that, despite years of relationship with one person, they leave with another when their name appears on their skin.

It doesn't seem to make sense to you.

Your older sister was predestined with a friend of hers since childhood, they have two children and are happy. Your brother has a woman's name on his shoulder, but he hasn't found her yet.

You still have no name tattooed on your skin. You have had some partners with whom you have had great times, but you never created a real bond with any of them.

Your partners also have their partners, Donna is happy with her wife and kids, Felicity is meeting her man, but she seems excited and eager to take the next step, you are happy for them, but you really don't think everyone deserves to have a destined partner, you never know who it might be and what might happen next.

You don't want anyone like him.

Your eyes fix on a couple who are at the back of the supermarket, where the coolers with the soft drinks and alcohol are, they are talking to each other as one of them tries to hide some cans inside his baggy pants, you see how the other one looks around biting his nail nervously. You sigh wearily. You're not sure who they are, but it's not the first time you've caught them trying to steal something from the supermarket, your coworkers never say anything to them, but you're starting to get sick of it. You leave the labeler on top of the shelf where you are placing the new products that have arrived that morning and walk towards your colleagues.

"Who are those assholes?" You say pointing to the two men trying to leave with what they just stole.

It is obvious that the shaven haired man is the ringleader of the two, both are dressed in a scruffy manner, dirty clothes and look quite old, even his skin has traces of dirt and sweat, he must be in his late forties or early fifties, the other looks no better, maybe younger and at least looks nervous about what they are doing.

"That's Merle and Daryl Dixon, some redneck brothers who live outside in a ramshackle cabin..." Donna snorts. "Don't mind them, they always come and get some beer and leave, it's not..." But she shuts up because you're already heading their way. "Shit..."

"Hey, Dixon!" You call out to them and they both raise their heads at the same time. "Where are you guys going?" you walk over and fold your arms.

"Just havin' look 'round." Says the shaven one, the older looking of the two, he looks you up and down and gives you a devious grin and you feel instantly nauseous. "Is there a problem...?" he leans over touching the badge on your shirt. "Susy."

"Yes, yes there is." You don't even make the effort to correct him, to tell him that's not your name, you'd almost rather he didn't know. "I hope after you look, you'll pay for those beers you're carrying." You point to the bulging pockets of his pants with your head.

"Excuse me?" The man feigns offense and looks at his brother who raises his eyebrows, but says nothing. "Are y'accusin' us of thievery?"

"I'm not accusing you, it's obvious you are."

"Y'think we can't afford them?" The other speaks then taking a step forward. "Y'think we would come to steal from this shitty supermarket?" he snarls and his blue eyes bore into you like daggers.

"If you can afford them, do it and you'd be doing us all a favor in never coming back here again." You try to stand your ground, but the older man holds you by the neck and it scares you a little.

"Look, pretty girl, just because ya have a job doesn't mean ya can look down yer nose at a man, y'know what I mean? Much less talk to us like that." His nose brushes your cheek and you tense your jaw hard. "If yer pussy needs attention, I'll be happy to give it what it needs." He smiles and you hear the other snort through his nose, amused by the situation. "But y'have to ask me properly, beautiful, on yer knees and with yer mouth full." He whispers in your ear and then releases you, your legs wobble, but you don't get to fall. "And the fuckin' beers we ain't gonna pay them" He assures you. "C'mon, Daryl." He says to the other man and the two of you walk away.

Before they leave, Daryl grabs a couple of bags of chips as well and takes them with him, the door alarm not even sounding as they walk away.

Your body trembles with rage and impotence, you would like to go after them, call the police, but you know it won't do any good. No one will do anything. Your coworkers look at you worriedly as you return to the counter rubbing your neck.

"Are you all right? I told you not to listen to them."

"And let them steal whenever they want?"

"It's just a couple of beers and some chips, plus they come in once in a while, no big deal." Donna says putting money in the till, from her purse, you frown at the sight of it.

"It's okay, but you're paying for it. It's not fair, someone should stop them."

"Merle is a hopeless case, and if you go after him he'll make your life hell." Daryl is calmer, he's not a troublemaker, but when he's with Merle..."

"Yeah, what a shitty personality." You grunt again and walk away back to your work.

You spend the morning among the shelves, serving customers and restocking the products left empty on the shelves. Angry as a monkey, unable to get the Dixon brothers out of your head. Felicity has told you a little more about them, troubled past, abusive father, they've grown up wild and on the fringes of town, apparently Merle has been in and out of jail several times, doesn't seem to have learned from his mistakes, his brother Daryl has a temp job at an auto shop, but is easily sucked in by his older brother's bullshit.

You don't feel sorry for them, they're both complete assholes, and if they have to go to jail, you'll live much more peacefully.

It's the last hour, you are about to close the doors, Donna is finishing counting the box, Fely has come to pick up her boy and flirts with him at the door, you are finishing cleaning the floor when you hear Donna give your partner permission to leave. You smile as you see her excited, he looks haunted too, he doesn't take his eyes off Fely, you're happy for her, deep down.

"I'm going to the storeroom for a moment, will you take care of closing up?" the manager asks you and you nod.

You leave the mop in its place and walk over to the counter to get the keys and lock the doors. Before you get there, you hear the door jingle and see the Dixon brothers appear over there. Again you tense up at the sight of Merle smiling at you in that disgusted way.

"It's closed."

"Look, li'brother, who we've here again." Smiles Merle walking straight towards you. "Ya miss us, Susy?"

"Have you missed me? Because you came twice in the same day."

"Yer quick..." He smiles again looking at his brother, Daryl is a few steps behind, chewing his lip, he looks nervous, he doesn't want to be there, but again his brother drags him with him. "Grab some beers and a bottle of whiskey while I talk to the lady."

"Merle..."

"Y'ain't hear me?"

Daryl snaps in frustration and wanders off to the coolers to get some beers and the bottle his brother said, when you try to stop him, Merle steps into your path, blocking your path with his body. You instinctively back away, the last thing you want is for him to touch you.

"You're not going to pay for that either, are you?"

"Yer smart, sweetheart, but if ya wanna, I'll pay for it another way..." He wags his tongue obscenely and you pull away again.

"Oh for God's sake, no. Do you really think anyone would want anything to do with you? If it wasn't for your looks, your smell would be taken care of already, do you guys not know what a shower is?"

Merle's smile instantly disappears turning into an angry gesture, he advances towards you, after you, ready to make you pay for your words, but you keep moving away avoiding his muddy and dirty hands touching you. When he raises his hand to try to grab you by the throat again, you hit it hard, enraging him again.

"Fuckin' bitch..."

"Merle!" Daryl stops his brother, Merle turns to look at him. "I got it, leave that frigid bitch alone and let's get the fuck out of here." He barks again.

"You're in luck, bitch, my brother's in a hurry." She huffs and walks away, but in the process knocks over a shelf of cans of food that explode as they hit the floor, leaving everything a mess.

"Asshole..." You snort after they're gone.

"What happened?" Donna is surprised when she comes out of the warehouse.

"The Dixon brothers. Go home, they're waiting for you."

"You don't mind locking up by yourself?"

"No, don't worry, it was my fault, I shouldn't have provoked him..."

"Don't worry, and come back to work later tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay, have a good rest."

Donna says goodbye and gathering her things she walks out of the supermarket leaving you alone.

Cleaning up the mess Merle has made takes longer than you thought it would. Lifting the shelf is heavier than Merle had taken to knock it down. All the cans have rolled along the aisle, shattering, bursting on impact from the floor, the meat is scattered and the juices leave the floor slimy and sticky.

Maybe you should have bitten your tongue and avoided the whole pile of shit you are now involved in, but no, your stubborn and provocative side has not let you think clearly and there you are, scrubbing the floor once again, watching the mop mop take on a yellowish color just like the water.

After an hour you put the mop back in the cleaning cupboard. You understand why Donna has given you the first hour of the morning off, it is very late and tomorrow you will not be able to get up when the alarm clock rings. Your whole body feels heavy and aches. You let out a groan as you change out of your uniform and walk out of the supermarket, closing the grille on the front door.

You hear a clink as your sneakers hit something on the floor, you lower your head and discover a half-finished bottle of whiskey, next to it are several bills and a note.

"Fer the beers and whiskey. Sorry."

I'm so damn bored and feeling such a strong desire to share some OC stuff so I decided to share some of my favorite quotes from my characters because why not? I feel like it also helps me finding some motivation to finally start writing again.

Episode 2 thoughts

Here we go with more of my ramblings!

(Also just a reminder, I’m including game canon information so heads up if you need to bypass this post to avoid spoilers)

Thoughts below the cut....

It appears they’re making Indonesia “Ground Zero”, I don’t know if this is a result of Indonesia having a surge of fungal infections within the last few years, or if their environment would be considered potentially hospitable for the cordyceps. There’s also the fact that in-game the cordyceps seemingly started in the U.S. before spreading worldwide.

I’m not quite understanding the physiology behind the mouth tentacles thing, but I’ve seen enough hentai that it’s creepy either way

There’s a running theme of butterflies surrounding the girls (Sarah and Ellie)

Ellie’s sarcasm is on-point again, Bella really did bring our precious babygirl to life on a level that makes me so happy

I have to wonder about Pedro having to do things like move furniture, considering his poor back

So not anything significant, but I really appreciate that the leaning building from the game was incorporated into the background shot. A little sad that they didn’t show them going through that building like in the game, but I guess it would’ve been an issue of set design costs/extra film time.

Ellie actively avoiding mentioning Riley (“Matter of fact, let’s just keep our histories to ourselves” ~ Joel in the game), so that figures

Okay they moved up the hotel scene where Ellie pretends to be checking in, originally this took place in Pittsburgh at a later point in the summer, not Boston. And it was AFTER the thing with Tess.

Joel and Ellie’s awkward conversation-turned-moment of bonding, and her asking about Joel/Tess? Joel shot that shit down so quick lol

So they’re basically saying that the infected only last for 2-months, but they’re still some that last for years. This sounds like the infection not only deteriorates the brain but maybe the body temperature is so high for so long that the body eventually burns out….?

The infected have a connection, kind of like the hive-mind situation in Stranger Things. In-game the infected would just spawn out of nowhere even if an area looks clear (it’s a game so that’s a normal thing), it seems that this was their way of bridging the gap of how a clear spot would suddenly become overrun. Games like TLOU and Left 4 Dead had what they call “event doors”, or pathways that when taken would suddenly trigger hordes

Clickers!!!! But seriously they did a good job with the acting during this scene, I’m wondering if they did a “zombie school” type thing, kind of like TWD.

“You can’t deny that view” - so glad they kept this, it’s such an important moment for Ellie because of [redacted]

So Tess name-dropping Frank is interesting, unless in-game Tess knew about Frank and just didn’t tell Joel (HIGHLY unlikely), because in-game Joel doesn’t even know Frank exists, let alone have any contact with him specifically

Annie Wersching does a really good job of capturing Tess’ nuances, and the part where she’s foreshadowing her infection by acting defensive? Love it

Tess/Joel’s relationship being kind of one-sided isn’t much of a surprise. I’d imagine Joel prefers not to get romantically close to people because of past trauma

So the hive-mind connections trigger a horde, forcing Tess to sacrifice herself. In the game the military shows up and she holds them off while Joel/Ellie escape through the capitol building. To me the horde makes more sense because I never quite understood why the military suddenly went on a field trip outside of the QZ to coordinate an attack on a couple runaways when they could easily have left them to their fate with the infected and not waste time/supplies (same thing applies if they were going after the Fireflies outside of the QZ)

I’m enjoying the unfocused camera shots of the infected, it helps to leave some things to the imagination and makes it more scary/intense

The mouth-tentacles “kiss of death” thing is weird. It’s like the infected are coherent enough to want to actively spread the infection instead of just eating people. I’m also getting the impression that, kind of like in World War Z, they can sense when someone else is infected.

Definitely enjoyed this episode, the acting was really good and the story is moving a bit faster now. Still a lot of ground to cover because of [redacted]

Is the Stranger Things fandom dead?

I liked the show, didn’t love it but I did write a fanfic one-shot and didn’t publish it yet.

If I were to post it, would anyone actually read it?

It’s about reader getting possessed by Vecna.

It’s only 1569 words in, and it’s from July 1st, 2022 but I’m willing to finish it if you guys will read it

Cabin In The Woods

It’s a Holden fanfic that I started December 28th, 2021 and it’s only 575 words in, but I am of course willing to finish it.

I cant really remember what exactly happens in the movie so I will have to rewatch it but I remember looking for a fanfic after I read it and their being none so I decided to do it myself.

It’s called Tears and it was started on December 28th, 2021.

I was only 773 words into it so I’m not sure where I was going with it but I think it was a comfort fanfic, with JJ as the love interest?

But I have been aiming to do a Sarah Cameron fanfic or another Kiara Carrera one-shot because writing for girls in fluffy stories is so much easy I don’t know why but it is. Maybe it’s because I know how girls think- because I am one, and I am totally clueless when it comes to guys and what they think.

The Walking Dead

So I don’t have any started as of yet but I am in my TWD era (don’t think I ever really left) so I have SO many ideas.

So Rick, I have one where reader is a cop in the hospital and she is one of the cops they take hostage in exchange for Beth. She talks to them a lot and actually helps them get Beth. I’m not sure if I’m gonna kill Beth off, but maybe it can be prevented if reader changed the story.

Daryl, I obviously need to write another chapter for the Dark cell series (I will start tonight) but I want to get a feel of how to write romance for him so I can make a series, here AND on Wattpad. I am kind of obsessed with short hair Daryl so I would like to do a fanfic of early seasons Daryl, maybe in season one at the quarry or maybe one at the farm with a Greene reader. (You guys can request if you want smut or not)

Rosita Espinosa, you can check my Masterlist and see that I have already written a smut for Rosita that takes place after the season 9 timeskip, but I really want to write for either season 5-6 Rosita when she first arrives at Alexandria where the reader is living and they flirt and it may turn into a smut because her outfit at the party is SO underrated or season 11 Ro in her commonwealth guard outfit because omg. Also helping Rosita take care of CoCo sounds so cute, and it would turn into more of a fluff mom-mom fanfic.

Maggie Rhee/Greene, I really want to do a season 2 Maggie and reader who met at the farm (obviously) and reader is a member of the quarry group, reader wants to go look for Sophia but Maggie is out there and they go look for her together. There is flirting but no smut until part two. Or one that takes place in season 10, and reader is Maggie’s girlfriend who she meets will Hershel a few years after she leaves Hiltop (will be shown) and it’s basically her meting the rest of Maggie’s group (Daryl, Carol, etc) they are skeptically at first because they don’t want to see Maggie hurt but once they see how the reader treats Maggie, Hershel and Lydia they decide that she is a part of their group and now love you because you make Maggie so happy.

The Haunting Of Hill House

Literally my second favourite show and it’s so sad that literally no one writes for it so I decided to bring the fandom back and write for these depressed characters to make them happy, even if it’s only in my fanfic :(

Nell, you are her therapist instead of Arthur and it’s basically her and reader falling in love, and y’all know that night that Arthur…yeah.. that doesn’t happen to reader but she does collapse and has to be hospitalized and even when Nell freaks out and feels guilty you reassure her and it’s a happy ending. Then on a sadder note instead of Nell dying you call her right before she goes into the house, changing her mind about going inside so she comes to your house instead. Then for the last and saddest, at Nell’s funeral you remiss about all the happy days you had will Nell.

Luke, he needs some love and help so reader is his sponsor and has been helping him stay clean, romance sparks between them after Luke has recovered only for them to have a fight where he says hurtful things, reader leaves and Luke relapses.

Theo, a one-shot where Theo touches reader without her gloves and only sees her love for her<3

The Haunting Of Bly Manor

Dani, my little pookie. She deserved so much better. A one-shot where reader is Flora and Miles aunt (mother’s little sister) and she was helping with the kids before Dani came. Usually when someone watches the kids, reader leaves quickly after, not wanting to stay in the house longer than necessary but once Dani shows up she finds reasons to be visiting all the time. Aunt!reader again and Flora has a nightmare and begs Dani to call reader to comfort her. Reader drives to Bly and comforts Flora, not noticing how Dani is looking at her, once Flora is asleep, Dani reveals her feelings for reader. Also I have some more but if I keep going I won’t be able to stop.

Viola, to get revenge on her sister and husband she hooks up with her sisters secret girlfriend who is also hurt by their emotional affair. Story 2, Viola finds out she isn’t the only one trapped in the chest.

Jamie, reader is a decorator and is fixing up some of the rooms in the house, including the old wing, reader starts to face some possessions after angering a sprit in the home, Jamie is there to keep her safe. (This could also work for Dani)

WATTPAD

A Glimpse Of Us [This Is Us] (unpublished)

Im on chapter two of the story and love it so far, Katerina Pearson has my heart.

Puzzled Minds [The Walking Dead] (publishing on Christmas)

It’s a Dixon OC, Daryl and Merles little sister. The love interests are Beth and than after time skip Rosita. On chapter two but should be on season 3-4 by the time I publish it. Adeline is so adorable.

Two Lies One Truth. [Pretty Little Liars] (published)

Not very far but have already started another chapter. Spencer and Jason are the love interests but I’m leaning towards Spencer being endgame because she is the best lair. Winnie is an icon i don’t care.

Heart And Soul [The Walking Dead book one] [published]

OC is Carols daughter and Sophia’s big sister. The love interest is OC, and Kelly after the timeskip.

I just started season 2 and I’m not ready for Sophia’s death, it is going to heartbreaking. Nadia is by far my fav OC. She’s literally so iconic.

FTWD 8x06: All I See is Red

Okay, so the mid-season finale of FTWD was really interesting. I'm going to talk briefly about what happened, and then the one thing that jumped out to us TD-ers as super interesting, and possibly a tease for us. Over the next couple of days, I'll give you my fellow theorists' thoughts on this tease as well.

***As always, spoilers abound below for episode 8x06 of FTWD. Don't read until you've watched!***

So, after finally winning Mo over and dispensing with the current leadership of PADRE, Morgan decides to return to D.C. and look for Rick. He takes Mo with him.

The other characters, many of whom were on Fear long before Morgan crossed over to it, will stay behind and try to rebuild PADRE into a positive organization.

I'm assuming the second half of the season, which will not air for a while yet, will focus on them and shoring up their arcs.

In the episode, we see Morgan take Grace's remains and bury them in the cemetery next to Eastman, which I thought was an awesome callback. He then tells Mo he is going to find Rick.

Now, he knows where Alexandria is, so we can only assume that's where he'll go. Because of the time jump this season on Fear, he's now concurrent with the TWD timeline. And of course we know that Rick is not there. Since we didn't see Morgan in the TWD series finale, I'm assuming he'll arrive after Daryl leaves as well.

Either way, Morgan is clearly merging back with the main series.

As is Dwight. He and Sherry have gone their separate ways--which I'll talk about in more detail later--but Dwight says he's "going home," which means he'll be part of the CRM storyline.

But now, let's get to what we think might be a TD tease. There was a very brief coda after the episode, in which we see someone putting some items into a bag. We cannot see this person's face, and it's not even clear whether it's a man or a woman. We lean toward woman, as the hands and arms look to be fine-boned, but it could possibly be a fine-boned man.

Now, one of the items we see this person put in a bag is Alicia's amputated, desiccated arm. When I first watched this, I was half asleep, and definitely not bringing my analysis A-game, lol. I just assumed this was Alicia. Especially because this person is listening to Madison's voice on the radio, and it's as though they're going to find her.

Of course, my fellow theorists quickly corrected me by pointing out that this person has both their arms, where Alicia doesn't. She's missing one. So, it can't be her. No idea how they would have gotten Alicia's now-mummified arm, but that's hardly the point.

The other MAJOR tease about this? You can see BLOND HAIR.

Yeah, that's right. So, could this be Beth? It very well could be, but because we can't see the face, we can't know for sure. The person is fine-boned enough to be Emily. But it's also true that even if this turns out to be Beth, it might not be Emily actually doing the part. They might have used another actress as a stand in since they don't actually need Emily's face here.

There is also talk of it being Troy, and I'll get into that in coming days. But again, there's that blond hair. It looks exactly like Beth's.

So, might they reveal Beth in the back half of Fear? Again, we can't know for sure, but it's a definite possibility.

As I said, I'll talk more about evidence for these theories, both for and against, in coming days. But this is pretty huge.

One more thing I want to mention (and that will be mentioned later as well) is that we hear music around Morgan and Mo that is the EXACT same music we heard around Morgan in the coda of Coda.

So, it just fits, doesn't it? In 5x08, Beth "leaves" and then there's a coda of Morgan with a specific musical accompaniment. Here, we see Morgan leave to go find Rick, hear that same music around him, and then there's a coda of a woman (theoretically) with blond hair.

Needless to say, we're very excited to see what happens moving forward.

i didnt say that. what i said and what i meant is it was Andy's decision to leave the show to spend more time with his family. he openly talked about this, too. it's inconsiderate to keep demanding Rick to return when it's clearly, obviously something Andy is not interested in. the fact, there's zero progress on those Rick movies should be a clear sign of how he ain't interested in doing those either. time will tell...

the main show is ending, but the franchise is expanding with multiple spinoffs, while the fandom is painful slowly dying, becoming more misogynistic and toxic every day. i'd just bring Rick back to reunite with his family in TWD finale and close that chapter for everybody, giving them all a happy ending. no one needs to watch 3 more spinoffs to know what happened to Rick. i mean, last year, it was watch TWD: World Beyond for more Rick crumbs... next year, please watch all the new spinoffs for more Rick crumbs... Rick will return, eventually, if ever.... thank you for watching!

- Carl’s crush on Beth is fucking adorable

- Rick might have been a bit of a control freak in this era but at least he’s putting himself on the line over the others

- Carol almost shooting Rick bit being totally unbothered by it is hilarious

- Noticed that Daryl always keeps his distance but is always following Carol

- BACK RUB SCENE. Daryl providing physical contact and low-key also surprising himself with it is so adorable. The flirting, the innuendos *chef kiss*

!!!TWD 11x14 SPOILERS!!!

my take on the latest episodes of twd:

!!! heavy spoilers for twd 11x14 ahead !!!

before i get started, sorry for being inactive, i got caught up in school stuff and then got covid on friday. doing a lot better now though. rlly missed doing this :)

its been a while since i’ve done one of these, mainly due to the fact that i didn’t actually watch the latest three episodes until today. but now i’ve had lots of free time to catch up. i did consider making individual posts for each episode but decided against it as i’ve found myself not as interested in these episodes compared to the first couple of 11b, so take this post as a general take rather than strictly for 11x14.

anyways, enough about me, let’s discuss

i’m not too sure if it’s just me, but i’ve found myself a lot less interested in 11b compared to when the trailers were released, not because it’s boring (imo it’s been excellent so far) but because it’s missing something. i couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but i came to the conclusion that it’s because of how wide-spread everything is becoming. i feel as though all the characters are becoming absurdly distant and hard to keep up with, especially with all the side characters there are nowadays, and although relevant to the plot it still annoyed me, that was until i realised it was all intentional.

what has happened every other time like this? although this example is miniscule in comparison, remember when the prison group took in the woodbury citizens? it was short-lived, and made the characters quite hard to keep up with for a little, but it was all relevant.

we then saw the governers final attack, which took out the filler characters and left the core group closer than ever. the plot needed that “wow factor” to give the group another reason to trust each other like family. imagine if the governer had attacked in a circumstance where they hadn’t taken in extras and it was just the core group to begin with, there’s multiple flaws:

1. it wouldn’t have set up for the realistic amount of character deaths, ultimately leaving a mc to die, which in turn sets up for an unnecessary grief period

2. the core group’s main bond is over the fact that even though they’ve come from many different periods in the plot, all from different backgrounds, they all survived. they’ve survived against all odds, even though almost everyone else they’ve been with haven’t made it. not having those filler characters die to accentuate the fact doesn’t bring in the same sentiment.

you get the point

i’m currently under the impression that we are going to see history repeat itself one final time in this regard. the characters being distant right now is still very frustrating, but it keeps me hopeful for what’s to come. (especially about how big that event that brings them back must be, they’re more distant than we’ve ever seen, and former repercussions of that have been massive, what could be in store this time??)

at the moment though i do dearly miss the closeness of the characters that we saw in moments such as the lead up to terminus where there was only a core group of characters with no side pieces to distract them.

in terms of 11x14:

(fore-warning most of this is about negan lmfao, absolutely in love with him atm) point 1 OMG THE LYDIA AND NEGAN REUNION!!! almost had me in tears “hey kiddo” fdosjdfds WITH THE HEAD MOVEMENT TOO, enough to make a grown man cry :’) point 2 i really liked the scene between annie and maggie, annie was saying everything the viewers wanted to say. i truly do believe that negan has changed, and what she said has really confirmed to me that he is a different person canonically. it was also really refreshing to see someone actually tell maggie that she can’t hold onto who negan was forever. i understand her pain, and i do understand that she shouldn’t have to forgive just because negan wants to, but it’s dragging on too far. maggie needs to realise that she’s just as wrong as negan has been.

i think maggie has finally realised that she’s holding a grudge against a changed man. negan has so much loyalty to her that is completely disregarded. maggie’s reaction to negan telling her that “it’d have to happen to me first” before he would let hershel get hurt was really heartwarming as well, it was like a switch just flicked.

point 3 sebastian can die.

point 4 “are you a bad man?” “i was” THE WHOLE SCENE MAN, SO AWESOME negans monologue was really reminiscent as well, what he said about just because he might deserve to die for being a bad man doesn’t mean that everyone else deserves to die (because if hershel killed him they would all be found out and killed) really hit hard. it reminded me of the line up, negan killed glenn (ik abe died to but this is about glenn) because he was associated with who he thought to be the “bad man in charge” which wasn’t right. further proving my point that negan is a changed man.

point 5 daryl and rosita man. so wholesome how much they’re willing to give up for their kids. i hope daryl kills sebastian.

i knew from the second guns started firing that it was mercer, which was relieving because i knew he would understand what was going on. i also loved how daryl didn’t even have to defend himself when mercer told him he was under the impression they were stealing money. man, mercer didn’t even believe what he was saying lmfao

point 6 “it’s that goddamn priest again” captured absolutely everyone’s reaction to a tee, in a good way though. when the guy (forgot his name lol) said that, i was celebrating behind the screen because i knew gabe and aaron were about to pull some epic shit. aaron got me so happy though. i was celebrating so hard when elijah came out with his weapon and again when aaron shot the bitch off the roof. amazing scene visually.

point 7 i was going to go on about how carol’s back on her badass era shit, but then hornsby pulled out the walkie and i figured that he knows.

however, i still want to believe that carol is 10 steps ahead and ready to serve him some cookies. also that look she gave when she turned away?? actually terrifying. i hope hornsby’s ready to look at the flowers.

point 8 negan with kids. i really appreciate the way negan interacts with the kids, it’s the gym teacher coming out in him. we saw it with judith, we saw it with lydia, and now hershel. it’s really refreshing to see him treat them as equals, like when he got down on his knees to be at hershels level, or when he said to judith “i like to swear in front of my friends”

i’m a little confused on where hershel stands with negan now though, especially after the last scene where he death-stared him. point 9 for the love of god i’m done with leah.

now let’s talk predictions/questions:

- april (the woman in the office) was connected to tyler davis. reddit user u/mistertrouble189 pointed out that in the promo for 11x15, the name on the sheet of paper (the one from a few episodes ago with all the names of people connected to tyler) changed from april kelly in the original episode to april marten in the promo. take that how you will - stephanie. i called it. i deadass called it straight up in my 11x09 analysis.

- where are the others? the only downside to 11b so far has been the distance between characters. i just wanna know where characters like gracie, princess, jude’s friend, and connie and kelly are and what they’re doing. and luke! we saw oceanside but no luke, it’s so confusing

- one of my original predictions was hershel jr being in some kind of danger, and i am now being led to believe that him being hurt/kidnapped will be the premise of the negan and maggie spin off.

- i also predicted aaron’s death, and a lot of people are saying that he’s going to take rick’s comic death, which i can definitely see happening

-death predictions include:

1. gabriel i feel like his story is over. if he dies i don’t think i’ll even care that much (plot-wise, emotionally i’ll be destroyed, i love gabe sm)

2. mercer (maybe idk) with him it’s a 50/50, they’ll either leave him to live, or kill him to send a message that not standing out for the wrong will get you killed. we’re already seeing this a bit, with daryl standing up for himself in front of seb, but mercer still giving him the money

3. aaron will prolly get rick’s comic death

4. NOT rosita will be crushed if she dies, but they are setting her up as a “main” main character this season, i have hope for her.

5. sebastian i don’t care how he dies, but i need him dead.

6 months later scene

i’m beginning to see how it’s all supposed to seem at the hilltop scene. the way i see it, daryl, rosita, and co are oblivious to the outside corruption in the commonwealth, whereas aaron, gabe, maggie, etc are oblivious to the inside corruption in the commonwealth. it all adds up for a midseason finale that leaves the audience conflicted as to who’s the good people, because everyone is in the right, just unknowing to some things. i’m open to any ideas you guys have

i told my dad about it bc he watches twd and i was complaining about how swc does not have the right to tug on my heartstrings like that, and he’s like “but how does that work? carl’s dead” THATS THE WHOLE POINT, he forgot that lori was dead for a solid 30 seconds though lmfao. i think he understood me after he remembered that

Hi my-mt! It us Aurelia. :) How are you? And yes, I saw that seemed to be a theory that Leah was going to tell Daryl that he was going to be father essentially. I suppose if they decided to be together. But none of that is verified nor verifiable because it is not hinted at, not even subtly and that is not what they are building to with their relationship. Leah is supposed to mirror a darker version of Daryl, with physical similarities to Carol. Which makes sense because Daryl sees himself in Carol. So it would need to be a woman that resembles her a noticeable amount in order for the audience to catch on.

And I wanted to know your thoughts. It would be easier for me to find the meaning if they didn't write Daryl so vague and reticent most times. Do you think that Daryl's dilemma was trying to see how he could fit Leah into his life and plans if she chose to go back to Alexandria with him or another thing?

My understanding is that because of the historicity of Daryl's written character, he has a "code" he operates by. Merle is my closest allusion to this. Merle might have had a relationship and knowledge of Daryl no one else knew at the time (since they are blood brothers), but he was toxic for Daryl. Same is true with Leah, in that she is his first confirmed post-apocalyptic romantic relationship and knew him more intimately (physically) than anyone else...but she also is no good for him. But he still perhaps thought he needed to "pick" them out of obligation/loyalty to what they were already before circumstances changed (i.e. him finding and growing with Rick's group and later being brought back by Carol in season 9).

Hi Aurelia. Hi No-name. You both brought this to my attention, so I'll address simultaneously. Obviously, people can view the same thing different ways and TWD is particularly known for leaving things open to interpretation, but to me this one feels waaaaaay off-base.

First of all, No-name, you are right that there is just a careless disregard for the depth of Daryl's and Carol's relationship. He's basically claiming love is a roadblock for their plan to run away together because, you know, Carol can't possibly be a love interest herself, right? But in actuality, love is what's motivating them. It's just a matter of coming to terms with it and finally doing something about it. If love is roadblocking anyone, it's Leah and Connie.

Aurelia, the article makes it sound like Daryl's goal all along ever since he laid eyes on Leah again was to try to get "a second chance" with her and bring her back to Alexandria to live happily ever after. If AK is to be believed, then that is absolutely not the case. Whatever trust and whatever guilt he had was lost that day. From then on, their history together became a handy tool. He tried to find the good in her again because it was the key to protecting his family. Yes, he did try to get her to come with him because he wanted to save her. We know saving people is a major contributor to Daryl's self-worth (that will change), though I don't think it's fair to say Daryl doesn't care about Leah any more than some stranger needing roadside assistance. Of course he does, but I can't help thinking that Leah's resemblance to Carol makes it all the more easier when they're on that roof together. Daryl still feels like he failed Carol. He couldn't save her from herself during the whisperer war, but here right in front of him is another strong woman who's survived trauma, who (depending on who you ask) he maybe also failed at some point. Maybe this is his chance to finally succeed (nope, sorry bro). Everything else, like how Leah could possibly coexist with Maggie or how he himself could live with her and Carol, is a problem for later.

Another component of it is what you said, challenging his growth. Like when Merle returned, Daryl's nature tempts him to fall back into old ways with people of his past, and he needs to remember that without them, he is stronger and better. When he returns to Alexandria and reunites with Carol, he'll be proud of his choice. Because I do believe that is what she is to him, whereas his relationships with Merle (blood relation) and Leah (grief and loneliness) are more so products of circumstance.

twd 11x07 (spoiler warning)

i cant believe that we are almost done with the first third of s11 :,(. twd is getting closer to the end. plus i look forward to new eps every week

this ep just reaffirmed my belief even more that negan’s story isnt a redemption arc. he cant be redeemed and he has to know that. negan has changed a lot. hes not evil but he also isnt good either. yes, its true that him being honest to maggie was important to their relationship but also what the fuck possessed him to say that to her? For context, negan said that if he could go back he would have killed everyone at the line up. this makes sense and is logical, but saying to maggie didnt make sense to me. especially because he wanted her to promise a truce. i appreciate how complicated negans character is but it also confuses me on what the writers want him to be portrayed as. i mean, they brought up innocent saviours that died in the war (while totally disregarding all of the communities negans saviours hurt but thats another story) but they also show that negan isnt super regretful of what he did. he just wishes he was more brutal. i think it makes him an interesting character but i cant like him still.

other than that, i liked negan bringing back the whisperers tactic to get through that big horde. like that genius?? also maggie looked so cute in her oversized mask. obviously im obsessed. i feel bad for poor elijah though, having to see someone he cared about in the horde. i thought he was gonna pull a sam but im glad he didnt.

gabe had an encounter with a pastor reaper. im glad they had that interaction. gabe and the reapers would be such an interesting concept, i wish they took him instead of daryl. but im also scared they are setting up gabe’s death. not looking forward to that.

yumiko in her suit...*bites lip*. nah but fr she looked so good. also, im sure the reason tomi got taken away is because miko accidentally revealed the truth about him being a doctor during that interrogation. but thats a theory.

also we got to meet sebastian milton...god i was not excited for this character. this mf is already SO ANNOYING. also how was eugene supposed to know who he was?? they never even told him. not to mention how lance told eugene, “you should’ve saved him. you could’ve been a hero”. UM HE DID TRY TO SAVE HIM?? AND SEBASTIAN WAS MAD?? god i didnt think twd could make a character more unlikeable than nicholas and gregory but they did a good job.

daryl and leah’s arc in this ep was ok. that scene with the family was important for leah. obviously she isnt as ruthless as pope and she has some heart. but she still picked a group that decided to destroy a community because they liked their home?? at least thats what i gathered from what leah told daryl. im curious to see what’ll happen to daryl when hes eventually forced to pick a side.

while this ep wasn’t as intense and amazing as the last one, it was still great. and im pissed at negan but the convo he had with maggie was rly important. it gave them more development besides negan getting frustrated over maggies plan and then not leaving when she tells him to. also, i think someones gonna die next ep..im prepared to start shitting tears.

sorry not sorry for the blunt answer but no, never, not in a million years, not even close, not for a number of reasons.

few reasons under the cut, because apparently I’m doing this instead of focusing in class. obviously there will be spoilers for both shows, and obviously some of this will be based on personal preference.

1. Genocide/Oppression

so both shows have some vivid imagery of nazi germany. bradley is addressed as the fuhrer in fmab, and the eldians wear stars on their sleeves in aot. and even if the aot writer wasn’t pretty much confirmed to be a nationalist and raging anti-semite, it’s rather painfully obvious which show handles it better.

in aot, the eldians are oppressed because they can turn into titans and were originally trying to take over the world or something, which is so blatantly anti-semitic that it’s terrible. shows are allowed to tackle these kinds of topics, but they should handle them well, not be a stand in for nazi propaganda. this is something so many fucking shows do wrong whenever they make an oppressed group of people - there’s always somehow a reason for having them be oppressed. take bbc merlin. wizards are oppressed because they can do magic and so they’re dangerous, just like how eldians can turn into titans and so they’re dangerous, and that’s a bad thing to imply, because it implies that jewish people somehow deserved what happened to them and that’s a fucking dangerous idea to put into an already anti-semitic world.

and that’s exactly why i was so relieved and appreciative of how fmab did the battle of ishval. it is clear who the bad guys are in that scenario, and it’s clear that it was never deserved and that the soldiers who carried it out are war criminals and deserve to be put into jail. riza says as much herself. while i think scar shouldn’t have been as guilted as he was (sure, he shouldn’t go after innocent people, but him killing winry’s parents is not comparable to what happened to him and doesn’t put all of them on equal footing), i was pleasantly surprised that he lived and wasn’t killed off in some stupid form of “redemption.” if roy deserved to live, so did scar, a hundred times over.

2. Characters

characters in fmab are done ridiculously better than in aot. let’s compare similar characters!

edward and eren - the protagonists

up until the third season onwards, eren is very one dimensional and uninteresting. he’s entertaining, but his one and only goal is killing the titans and it’s super frustrating because they lay down the groundwork for more, but it’s never really addressed. show more how he cares about his friends, show him dealing with his trauma through anger and how it’s unhealthy. (actually, a lot of problems could be fixed if they showed more of the cadets’ training days. i feel like i wasn’t feeling as betrayed by annie and reiner and bertholdt because i never really felt they were that close to eren.)

ed is a delightful main character. he too is angry and doesn’t mind talking with his fists, but at the same time, he’s starchly against killing anyone and has multiple goals. ofc his primary one is getting their bodies back, but when he finds himself in the conspiracy about amestris, he doesn’t hesitate before making that his problem as well. every relationship he has is wonderful. i could get bored with eren on the screen, i wasn’t bored with ed.

armin and alphonse - the deuteragonists

i’m sorry but armin is literally just “the smart one.” that’s it. he’s also the dreamer but it only comes up when they’re about to do something dangerous.

i feel like i don’t even need to go into how good of a character al is? he’s very obviously multifaceted and the epitome of sweet and badass at the same time.

winry and mikasa - the love intests-ish

i don’t like referring to either of them like that, but while mikasa is the tritagonist (or deuteragonist, her and armin can interchange there), winry is not.

and surprise, surprise, this is actually where i’m not so sure winry comes out on top. mikasa is, in my opinion, the most interesting out of the trio. she also has a very single-minded goal, but seeing her interact with other characters (armin, jean, levi) who either fall in line or disagree with that goal is fun to watch. she’s also obviously super competent and i have a thing for competent characters.

winry is a good character and i love her, but it’s always bothered me how out of place her scenes feel in relation to the entire show. and as much as i know it doesn’t deter her agency, there’s just something off about ed telling her to have an apple pie waiting for them. it actually brings in one of my few problems with fmab. while its female are pretty good, they’re far from perfect, and that’s because nearly all of them exist because of their relation to the more important male character. winry is ed’s mechanic and the elrics’ family friend. riza is roy’s lieutenant. lan fan is ling’s bodyguard. izumi is the elrics’ teacher. i’m not saying that’s all they are, but this is a major part of their role in the story (olivier and mei stand out as female characters with goals relating to themselves and not a guy around them.)

so who’s the better character? mikasa is more fierce and winry has better lines that aren’t just calling out the protag’s name. i’m gonna give it to winry, but by a short shot.

roy and levi - the op fan favorites

this one’s much easier. roy is not just a badass who’s also the hero’s direct superior like levi is, he’s a person with clearcut goals and weaknesses and he has to make sacrifices and work for what he wants. levi has all the makings for a great character, a tragic backstory and a chill personality, but he doesn’t have a reason to stay in the scouts, he just...does. out of loyalty to erwin, i guess? it’s not clear and it’s even worse if you don’t watch the ova. roy’s reasons are clear and relatable. he also has a dorky and endearing side, plus the political side of things he brings to fmab is interesting and an equally important part of the story. his fight with envy is satisfying and thrilling. levi’s fight with the beast titan, while it is super well animated and cool, kiiiinda falls flat because there was no set-up for him being the one to take the beast titan down (should have been connie). it also ends a bit too fast, honestly.

but hey, you say, aren’t you the one writing 15k worth of fanfiction for levi within two weeks? didn’t see you writing that much for roy. yeah, well, unfortunately, my attraction doesn’t determine the better character and i never said i was proud of this, please leave me alone.

there’s more comparisons i could make - carla and trisha, hohenheim and grisha (ha, trisha and grisha rhyme), roy can also be compared to erwin, there’s multple side characters, but fmab wins, you guys get it.

3. The Story, Plot, Deaths

listen, i get it. aot is a bloody, brutal show and you’re not supposed to get attached to characters. i’m not gonna complain about pointless deaths, because that in itself is the point. it’s like twd or got, it’s gonna have lots of death. but the deaths don’t have to be so stupid. i’m specifically thnking of levi’s squad, because the way they die is so dumb. gunther should not be taken down by a cadet, petra shouldn’t be flying so close to the ground, oluo should know not to engage the female titan alone. these were elite titan killers, they knew not to be stupid. there were ways to kill them off without making them look so stupid. and if there’s not, consider not killing them off just for shock value.

fmab’s deaths mean something, especially since one of its central messages is that life is precious, no matter whose it is. everyone’s life means something and no one dies in vain.

there’s more i could go into, but i just spent my entire classtime doing this and now my second one for the day is about to start, sooo i think i’ll stop here. thanks for the ask!

10.16: a certain doom

spoilers (both general and caryl) under the cut:

the episode iiiiiissss not super worth the six month wait (like in general, not vis a vis caryl)

it’s marginally more exciting than the penultimate episode

marginally

i think the problem is they utilized time poorly, so the attack on hilltop was Amazing, but then they accidentally forgot to make the end of the war suspenseful or interesting lol

that being said, it had its moments, so let’s break it down, shall we?

first off, caryl have a brief scene in the beginning in the stairwell where daryl is telling carol that michonne left, and he’s like “everybody leaves and then i never see them again :( “ and carol is like “...i haven’t left” and daryl goes “-sure jan-” and leaves carol looking like a hurt puppy bc she thinks he still hasn’t forgiven her/never really will, more on that later

lydia and carol have a scene where lydia is like:

and carol was like “that’s cuz you should hate me and shouldn’t try and look to me for advice, go find your own way in life” and lydia says “k i’m not asking you to be my mom, i’m asking if we can be bros, but w/e, i’m sure this conversation isn’t foreshadowing to an event that will happen later”

more on that later

princess & crew broke their bikes so they were running late to the rendezvous, and eugene was about to give up, but zeke gave an empowering speech about Never Giving Up (which is kinda weird coming from a dude with cancer whose wife left him and whose son got murdered, but w/e, you get on with your optimistic self, zeke) and convinced him to carry on, more on that later

(here’s an exclusive sneak peek at the scene tho:)

there’s a two hour long scene of our main peeps walking through the giant horde covered in guts, which would be more interesting if they didn’t do that all the time

beatrice got eaten which would have been more of a bummer if i remembered who beatrice was

it did get lydia involved in the fight tho, so that’s something

side note: negan gave lydia alpha’s mask as if it was supposed to be symbolic or something, instead of incredibly traumatizing to this little girl whose abusive mother just got her head chopped off, like couldn’t she have just put guts on like the other people? ok, my dude, way to be a surrogate father figure ig

while carol is still stuck in the horde daryl asks where carol is, which has been the majority of his lines this season

they try to lead the horde away by blasting talking heads, which is a little on the nose but entertaining nonetheless, but then carol had to go and say “protect the horses,” which is a guarantee that the horses will get eaten, bc it’s twd, so whomp whomp, they lose their apparently only plan for leading the horde away

(how have they not learned better by now?)

(better question: how are there any horses left??)

daryl has an unintentionally funny line where he’s like, “k so this is a super shitty idea, and i am aware of that, but let’s just go fucking kill all of the whisperers”

lydia then volunteers to go throw herself off a cliff to get rid of the horde, and daryl brushes her off, more on that later

anyway they go and just. kill all the whisperers ig? including beta? whose death took like two seconds and involved a brief flashback montage and was incredibly anticlimactic for how fucking badass he was (negan draws him away, daryl stabs him the eyes, which was kinda cool, and then he goes and stands in the middle of the horde and smiles wistfully while he’s eaten alive, like a normal person would do)

up at headquarters gabriel is about to get murdered by whisperers, but then maggie and her masked friend somehow make it past the entire horde and up the stairs in time to save him

sure

cut to lydia leading the entire horde to the cliff, but then carol jumps in and tells her to go and that she’ll do it, and is about to go for a fun tumble, BUT THEN lydia pulls her away and they have a brief argument about it

their whole plotline this episode is very:

anyway

what follows is what’s meant to be a heartwarming scene between the two of them where they put aside all their baggage and hug each other and realize they’re stronger together than at odds, and objectively it’s a good scene, but i couldn’t stop laughing bc they kept showing the walkers falling off the cliff and it looked SO STUPID, it was hilarious

they just. literally kept just stepping off the cliff and falling like bricks askdfljs

and then lydia went and threw alpha’s mask off the cliff and that Did Not make it less funny

idk, i’m probably just a bad person, but it was super fucking funny, anyway

maggie reunited with judith, which was actually very sweet, esp when you remember that she delivered her (in the most traumatic way possible)

the caryl scene was nice. i had to watch it a couple times before i decided how nice, bc like everything else in the episode it felt kind of rushed, but essentially carol and lydia return, and daryl is standing in the exact position he was standing in “no sanctuary”, bc apparently that’s how he leans on trees, and carol approaches him super warily, and they both stare at each other, and carol asks him if he’s good, and he is visibly trying not to cry when he goes “yeah. it’s over. right?” and she says yes, and he asks her if she got what she wanted, and she says no, and he tells her she still has him, and she’s like “yeah?” while crying, bc, per earlier interaction, she was p sure she was never gonna get him back entirely, and he says yeah, and then they hug, and carol makes a little sob noise, and daryl buries his face in her shoulder and is teary, too, and then daryl brings up new mexico, and carol says “maybe someday” and daryl deffo looks disappointed but agrees, and then carol has her “we still have things to do, i’m clearly saying this as a set up for dramatic scenes that are about to follow” line

cue dramatic things following

connie is alive (we been knew), but is banged tf up, and runs into virgil. or more like collapses on the ground and virgil finds her and they stare blankly at each other until connie passes out

and then we jump back to princess & crew, who are sitting there bummed out bc stephanie isn’t there, and eugene is like, “bc of zeke’s wise words, i am Not Giving Up, we set out to find and recruit people (did they? i literally don’t remember) and so that’s what we’ll do!”

and it’s a Big Moment of Solidarity and Strength

for all of five seconds, bc they are then accosted by stormtroopers, who presumably work for commonwealth. whether or not commonwealth is building a death star is unclear at this time, but i suppose we’ll find out soon

cue end credits!

so overall: the episode occurred. it wasn’t like, devastatingly disappointing, in that the penultimate episode didn’t really set me up for any sort of big anticipation, and also i had spoilers ahead of time. i wish there had been more time for things like beta’s death to be played out properly, but i wonder also if they were limited on what they could do bc of pandemic shit and trying to get it edited as quickly as possible

as it stands, even tho the whisperers are my favorite twd villains, i’m glad they didn’t do what they did with the saviors and have it drag on for ten million years for no reason

the bottle episodes should be interesting, and prob will lead us into commonwealth, which, again, not sure on the status of the death star, but i’m excited to see what happens regardless

on the caryl front i’m about where i was before, which is fully anticipating canon coming, and my guess is the season will really heavily set up their departure, which means we will have many more scenes to come

the end

as usual, stay hype, stan kang, and get daryl to call carol sweetheart 2k20 (i still have three months left, i’m not giving up yet, zeke wouldn’t want me to),

under the cut because i expect it’ll get very long <3 :) update after i finished writing: it is, in fact, very long and also took me over an hour. so. take that as whatever sort of warning you might want.

let’s start with margot !

she was born to a couple of really young parents who..... did not want to be parents. at all. they were still in the party-and-get-drunk phase of their life and didn’t want to have a kid to worry about, so a large part of her childhood was spent couch surfing between relatives, mostly her grandfather.

they were really close! he would help her with her homework, they would cook together, he would let her drink underage so that she was well-versed in beer by the time she was like. idk. 16 lol. but she felt closer to him than her own parents, who were good when they were around but. they mostly weren’t around <3

when she was 19, her grandpa starting showing pretty serious signs of memory loss and whatnot and eventually had to be moved into a home. she was living with him by that point, so she had to continue to spend a year or so of her adult life couchsurfing. it didn’t help that she was in school full-time to get an engineering degree of. some kind. i think mechanical engineering. idk. and didn’t have a job, so to pay back her roommates she took up a majority of the housework as well as picked up odd jobs on the weekend. her grandpa’s health continued to decline through this time so she didn’t actually mind being busy because then she. didn’t have to think about it at all <3

and then.............. when she was 20......... her boyfriend of a year suggested that she not only move in with him but that they get married and margot, who has never had stability ever in her life, jumped at the opportunity !

after she graduated, she found it incredibly hard to find a career (even though they were in the same program and He had no trouble finding one), so she was back to not working but her husband didn’t mind and he supported her whole-heartedly. during this time she started running and then eventually started going to a gym with a couple of her female friends from their neighbourhood! she would also spend a lot of time at her grandpa’s but his health was still rapidly declining. eventually her now-husband said that she should probably stop visiting him and margot was like “.... ok i guess”

And then. :)

she kept spending time outside of the house and started taking self-defense classes with a few of her friends and her husband was started to get very antsy. he wanted her to be at home, told her that he didn’t like her going out at night or, eventually, at all, and would find ways to keep her home every night so she didn’t go out. during this time he also started getting. um. very manipulative. he was easily triggered into starting arguments. so she increased the frequency of her self-defense classes and, eventually, they became Very Useful in an argument with her husband. so. we hate him :)

after that she filed for a divorce, moved away and changed her name to her late grandmother’s last name. she started working at a gym in her new town and eventually decided to open her own ! she had gotten the building about 2-3 weeks before the outbreak hit and didn’t have any furniture or equipment of any kind, so she met up with 2 middle-aged women from her old gym and they travelled together until one of them was bitten in a fight with walkers and dragged into a big crowd of them to be eaten and the other one was bitten and margot had to shoot her when she got zombified and tried to attack. :(

that’s where i have left off for now but i am going to develop her More the more i watch the show !!!

okay. backstory over. now for the fun bits:

her faceclaim is mackenzie davis specifically in terminator (without the. lines on her arms and whatever idk what those are) and this picture is the most margot-vibe imaginable.

the haircut was an incredibly recent choice but it came in handy during the outbreak because she didn’t have to worry about keeping hair out of her face. girlboss !

she is 6′2 :) her and her husband were funnily enough the 2 tallest people in her graduating class

she spoke occasionally to her parents after graduating and moving away but they fell out of touch a year or so before the outbreak began and she......................... unsurprisingly doesn’t miss them at all

she has 1 keepsake and it’s an old keychain of her grandpa’s and if anything happens to it. she will kill everyone in any room and Then herself !!!

she likes to where tank tops to show off her big arms. is this very ergonomical in the apocalypse where zombie bites can kill you instantly ? nope! will she do it anyway to intimidate people ? yup!

she Cannot cook. at all. she lived off of take-out and microwavable meals for the first 20 years of her life and then she always had someone else making food for her until she moved away on her own when it was back to takeout.

on the topic of food :) her fave foods are mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and meatlover’s pizza !

she will do literally anything for a good beer. anything. she keeps an eye out for them every time she goes scavenging in buildings and will try to get at least 1 bottle per trip. girlboss !

she cannot sing. in fact she’s not just average, she’s Terrible. she can, however, play mad guitar because her grandpa taught her.

now onto miss lila :)

she was born in a town a couple over from rick’s and was the younger sister of 2 ! she had a really great family and a very very happy childhood :) her dad was a wildlife rehabilitator and her mom was a landscaper who took a lot of pride in their nice big backyard and garden and Land where they. you know. rehabiliated the wildlife and what not

she worked a lot with her dad and mom at their wildlife centre and also helped her mom garden a lot (their house was on the same property as the centre so it was a nice big plot of land). she took a lot of interest in rehabilitating animals and it sparked a very early childhood interest in Caring for things (namely little wild critters) which extended to her helping out little kids on the playground when they got scraped knees and things. she always had a package of bandaids in her backpack from second grade on. an angel <3

in her final year of high school she had a very quick fling with a boy from her high school that ended… poorly. and then she got pregnant! which she. Did not expect. nor want. nor need in her life because she was planning on moving to atlanta to go to medical school and kickstart her career. her sister, who had recently dropped out of school and lost her job, decided to Take One for the team and claim the baby as hers so lila could go to medical school and stuff. their parents promised to take good care of her and they all made a plan to hide lila’s pregnancy from their town (although i’m sure literally everyone knows anyway) and then she moved away in the summer after giving birth to go to school

she quickly finished up her nursing program but was out of job for a few years until she got a job offer to be the nurse at king county elementary school aka the school were one Carl Grimes goes to school. she moved there in may and one night, when her car Squealed to a stop in front of a dog who had run away from his home and was being chased by. Um. a certain sheriff’s deputy who was intending on bringing the puppy back home <3 they got to talking and. Well. the rest is history…..

she was a very beloved member of the staff and kids would often fake sick just to come to her office and get a sucker and she grew esp close to the grimes family :D after a couple of years living in king county she got a job to start working at some fancy prep school in atlanta and decided that actually she might want to. You know. start being a mom now that she was finished with school and had a career. so she moved away from king county at the end of the next school year and was unfortunately in atlanta when it was bombed by the government at the start of the outbreak so she and her daughter and sister all died :) and that’s that !

some fun facts because that was a very depressing end to her story:

she always has suckers in her office at school and her favourites are the watermelon ones.

she can often be found gardening in her backyard or watching the birds in the trees like a little nature baby !!!

she is very meticulous about planning. she Does have a daily agenda. she Will kill you if you touch it. shane likes to leave her little notes in it for her to find when she’s at school. sometimes they are not Just cute. she usually erases those.

she likes collecting ugly thrift store paintings of animals and hangs them up in her dining room and she Does think they are incredibly funny.

she is a vegetarian !!! very unwavering about it. shane finds it annoying because he’s good at cooking steak but she just has a salad and then they’re both perfectly happy <3

sends basically everyone she knows a Christmas/holiday card every year. even the teachers at the elementary school who don’t like her and or barely talk to her !!!

she is a terrible maker of tea and usually forgets about cups before she’s even halfway through them (thank god for her). makes everyone tea when they come over except shane (stupid ass) because he doesn’t like it and usually people just politely swallow it even though it’s too steeped or. sorry idk how tea works. she just Makes It Bad ok

she perpetually forgets to do laundry. Most of her non-scrubs have dirt stains or dressing stains or whatnot (except for her Really nice clothes) which is why she tries to buy a lot of patterns. makes things easier to hide <3

Fated: Season 5

Summary: Gloria Rhee narrowly escapes Atlanta with her brother as the outbreak reaches the city. Luckily, they find a camp outside the city and together, they fend through encounters with the living and undead.

Starts a little before Season 1 and then follows the main storyline of the show.

Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Glenn Sister!OC

Warnings: major TWD spoilers, language, violence (the typical TWD stuff)

A/N: And we’re back! So last week, our group finally made it to Alexandria and Gloria found her sister was there too! As I expected, she wasn’t very well liked xD she does get better though... eventually :P I really can’t wait to see what you guys think of this chapter, hehe let’s get into it!

Chapter 9

The next day, the group had been told to explore, get to know the place and meet people. Rick was surprisingly encouraging of it and so the group took off. Gloria decided to leave her daggers at home, she had planned to check out the community’s infirmary and if she was to work there, having daggers strapped to her sides may not be the best first impression. Gloria walks out to the porch where Daryl was seated on the floor, his back leaning on the rails. She looks at him and tilts her head, blinking.

“What are you doing just sitting there?” she asks, taking a few steps to him.

He shrugs, “‘m good here.”

“Are you sure? You can take a walk with me,” Gloria says with a smile.

“The sun’s out, thought ya only liked full moon walks.” Daryl says, a hint of a smile on his lips.

She chuckles and shakes her head, “I like walks with you, sun or moon.”

“Ya go off, I’ll be here...” Daryl says, not moving from his spot on the porch floor.

“Okay, I’m just going to check out the infirmary, I’ll be back soon,” she tells him as she starts to go down the steps.

“Ya ain’ gon’ bring yer daggers?” Daryl calls out as he notices he doesn’t have her weapons on her.

“I don’t think I’ll need them, pretty sure I can take down anyone who comes at me here,” Gloria says, earning a snort of a laugh from Daryl.

“I think we should check out their pantry, see how well they do on runs,” Glenn says as he walks out of the house and down the steps with Maggie trailing behind him.

“Room for one more?” Gloria calls out as she follows suit behind her brother.

Glenn chuckles at her choice of words then the three of them walk down the street together. They come across the house that is supposedly Gena’s house, she made sure to let Glenn know which one was her’s. A young man around Glenn’s age steps down the porch of that house and both Glenn and Gloria stop in their tracks when they see who the man is. Maggie looks at the two in confusion, trying to figure out why they both stopped dead in their tracks.

“You’re kidding me... right?” Glenn groans.

“Okay... who else are we going to find here...” Gloria grimaces.

“Glenn! Gloria!” the young man who came out of Gena’s house runs towards them and tackles Glenn in a hug as Gloria swiftly dodged out of the way.

Glenn makes a face at his sister just before the man pulls away, grinning at Glenn, “I seriously can’t believe you’re here, man!”

“Jacob... I can’t believe it either,” Glenn says, an uncomfortable smile on his face.

“I never thought I’d ever see you again!” Jacob grins.

“I never wanted to see you again...” Gloria mumbles under her breath, making Jacob look at her, but he still had a grin on his face.

“Gloria... I missed you so much!” he says as he makes his way towards her.

“W-woah!” Gloria exclaims as Jacob picks her up in a hug.

“You have no idea how happy I was when Gena told me you’re both here,” Jacob says, putting Gloria down and looking back at Glenn.

When Jacob turns to look at Glenn, Gloria signals to him that she is going to go and to keep him distracted. He catches her eye and nods, knowing just how uncomfortable Jacob made her feel.

“Yeah...” Glenn says, then he gestures to Maggie, “this is Maggie, my wife.”

“Oh right! I heard from Gena that you got married in this? Woah, she’s a beauty, man.” Jacob says, shaking Maggie’s hand.

As they make small talk, Gloria backs away and mouths ‘I love you, brother’ to Glenn then she quickly takes her leave. She turns on the next street over where the infirmary was located, Aaron had let her know where it was earlier. Gloria walks up the steps to the building and knocks on the door, waiting a short moment before the door opened.

“Hi?” a woman with red hair in a ponytail, and glasses greets her, seeming somewhat nervous at Gloria’s sudden appearance.

“Hi, um, I’m Gloria.” she smiles at the woman.

“I’m Denise,” she says, awkwardly waving her hand.

“I’m part of the new group that came in yesterday, pretty sure everyone knows about us...” Gloria says, causing Denise to nod, “I just wanted to check out the infirmary, I’m apparently gonna be one of the medics working with the doctor? Pete, I think his name was?”

“Oh! You’re one of the new medics! Well, I’m one of the... other medics, please come in,” Denise says with a smile as she invites her into the infirmary, “did you want me to get Pete? I can if you want me to.”

Gloria chuckles and shakes her head, “it’s okay, I don’t actually start until tomorrow, at least that’s what Deanna told all of us. I just wanted to check it out here, if the doctor’s not in I wouldn’t want to bother him on his downtime given he always has to be on-call.”

Denise nods, pursing her lips, “you... actually worked in a hospital... didn’t you?”

Gloria nods but furrows her brows, noticing the woman’s drop in facial expression, “what’s wrong?”

“Nothing... just... Pete’s a surgeon, you worked in a hospital, and the other medic probably has some experience in being a medic... meanwhile, there’s me, a psychiatrist.” Denise sighs, slumping down on the empty patient bed.

“Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself,” Gloria says, “a psychiatrist is still a doctor, no matter what.”

“I’m useless when it comes to saving lives and in emergencies,” Denise looks down.

“A psychiatrist heals wounds people can’t see.” Gloria tells her, making Denise look up at her.

“Did you get that out of a book or something?” she asks.

“I think I heard it somewhere,” Gloria says, making the other woman chuckle, “it’s okay for you not to have experience in these things. When this all started, I barely had experience.”

“Really?” Denise furrows her brows, “but I heard from Deanna that you helped stop someone’s bleeding.”

“That was after the world ended. Before that, I would just watch the doctors do all the work since I was only an intern. The most I did was give shots and stitches,” Gloria explains.

“At least you still have experience with stitches... You know I planned to become a surgeon?” Denise says, a sad smile on her face, “it’s what I wanted to be but then... my anxiety acted up and then the panic attacks... and that’s when I got really interested in psychiatry.”

“I know what you mean, we probably have the most stressful and pressuring job there is now,” Gloria sighs, “but hey, we’ll work through it all together.”

“I’ll just stand in your way...” Denise looks down again.

“Denise,” Gloria calls out, making the other woman look up at her, “I’ll be right with you, I just need you to try, okay?”

Denise ponders her words for a moment before nodding with a smile on her face. Gloria understood what Denise was going through with the pressures and stressfulness of being in the medical field. She’d felt it while she was an intern and even more so after the world ended. Gloria felt that Denise was a good person who wanted to do her best. She knew that with the proper encouragement and guidance, Denise would become a fine medic.

Back at the house, Daryl was pacing around the living room, driving himself absolutely crazy. The others had been out for a few hours already to explore the community, leaving him at the house alone with his thoughts. He didn’t care that the people in Alexandria were watching him, eyeing him like a hawk and judging him. He knew they would no matter what, and that wasn’t what bothered him. What plagued his mind was him seeing another man hug his girl.

Since Daryl remained on the porch when Glenn, Gloria, and Maggie left to explore the place, he was able to hear when an unfamiliar male voice called out to the siblings. He turned to catch the man picking up Gloria in a hug, regardless of her being visibly uncomfortable towards him, and seeing that made his blood boil. It took everything in him to not run over and punch the man in the face. Daryl trusted her, of course he trusted her, he just hated seeing someone who was not him embrace her the way he did.

“Hey Daryl,” Glenn says, interrupting his pacing as he walks into the house with Maggie behind him, “everything okay?”

Daryl looks at him, mid-step and nods at him in acknowledgement. He felt stupid for feeling the way he did, but he really needed to know who the hell that guy was.

“Yo Glenn...” he calls out just as he’s about to sit on the sofa.

“Yeah?” he responds, looking at Daryl.

“Come here for a sec?” Daryl says, beckoning him over to the kitchen counter where he stood.

Glenn furrows his brow as he walks over to him, “what’s up?”

Daryl hesitates for a moment, biting his thumb nail nervously, “that guy... who is he...?”

“What guy...?” Glenn tilts his head in confusion.

“Don’ be playin’ dumb, tha’ prick tha’ hugged ya an’ Gloria,” Daryl says, frustration in his voice as his patience was running out.

“Oh, Jacob?” Glenn clarifies.

“Whatever his name is, who is he?” Daryl persists.

Glenn finally realizes what’s going on with Daryl and has to keep himself from chuckling, “he’s a guy on Aiden’s run team, used to be a cop before all this, but he’s not someone you need to worry about.”

“Ya know him from before?” Daryl asks.

“Yeah, we went to the same highschool, and his sister is Gena's best friend,” Glenn tells him truthfully.

“So, he’s yer friend too...” Daryl says, not liking this.

“I wouldn’t exactly call him a friend...” Glenn says, earning an eyebrow raise from Daryl, “I knew him before highschool because of Gena and he was in a few of my classes but we barely even talked. He was one of those jocks who always thought they’re better than everyone else.”

“Ya were friends with that kind o’ person?” Daryl asks, furrowing his brow in confusion, he thought that Glenn was saying he wasn't his friend just so he felt better about not liking the guy.

“I told you, we aren’t exactly friends,” Glenn says then sighs when Daryl stares at him, “okay, long story short... he bullied me in highschool.”

Daryl narrows his eyes at him, he knew Glenn wasn't the type to fight back, especially not in his teen years. He wanted to tell him that he should have told his older sister, but knowing how Glenn is, he wouldn't want to potentially ruin his sister's friendship with Jacob's sister. Now, Gloria on the other hand, Daryl was sure that she'd do something about it.

“Gloria wouldn’ let that slide...” he says.

“She wouldn’t... and she didn’t. When she found out, the next day she found him and punched him in the face,” Glenn chuckles at the memory then sighs, “but then that’s when he apparently fell in love with her...”

“What?” Daryl frowns at that, “what kind o’ masochist prick is he..?”

Glenn shrugs, “I don’t know, man. I just remember that he couldn’t stop bothering her after that... asshole even used me to get her to go on a few dates with him.”

“What?!” Daryl exclaims, he couldn’t stop the jealousy from exploding inside him as he registered Glenn’s words.

“He threatened to keep bullying me if she didn’t...” Glenn sighs as he looks down, “I practically begged her not to go and that I could take whatever he threw at me but you know her...”

Daryl sighs heavily and nods, knowing how protective Gloria is over Glenn, she would have done anything to prevent Glenn from getting bullied, even going on dates with a prick. The thought of it made Daryl uneasy and curiosity plagued his mind again as he wondered what they did on those dates, or rather what that guy tried to do on those dates. Glenn seems to catch onto his uneasiness as he snaps Daryl out of his thoughts when he puts a hand on his shoulder.

“You don’t have to worry about him, though. Gloria still kinda hates him,” Glenn says with a chuckle.

“Ya tellin’ me not to worry about her ex who might still be in love with her?” Daryl asks rhetorically.

"Gloria says he’s just a guy she went on a few dates with to save my ass, nothing more.” Glenn reassures him “yeah, he might still be in love with her or whatever, but she doesn’t care. She cares about you, Daryl. And if it makes you feel any better, I approve of you, not Jacob.”

Daryl scoffs playfully, and he nods, “thanks...”

“No problem,” Glenn smiles at him, patting his arm, “also, let me know if you’re ever planning to kick his ass, I’d love to join in.”

Daryl snorts a laugh at his words and nods again, wordlessly promising Glenn to let him know. He felt himself more at ease after talking to Glenn, although he didn’t like that they would be living in a community with someone from Gloria’s past but he had to deal with it. Later in the evening, Gloria had come back to the house and she told Daryl about Denise. He was happy for her that she made a new friend at the community, all the while he kept quiet as he listened to her talk about her day. Daryl felt that he didn’t need to bother confronting Gloria about Jacob, he was a person from her past.

Okay so! I know that Denise doesn’t actually appear in the show until Season 6 but I love her and she deserved so much more so I just added her here haha and then we have another new character (you all probably already hate him too xD) who triggered a jealous Daryl. Reason why I thought that it was best to add more characters from Glenn and Gloria’s life before the apocalypse is because it wouldn’t really make sense to me for Gena to come to a community alone without any friends since it seemed that everyone in Alexandria originally has a family with them. Also, I just really love writing Daryl and Glenn moments ❤❤❤ Please let me know what you think about this chapter and what you guys think will happen! ^^
