sunday snippet!!

I haven't written anything in weeks (except for the posted rosekiller hockey one-shot and I don't count those lol) so here's the last thing I wrote for the marydorlene fic

“Who the fuck is Marlene?” Barty frowned at her as he kept trying to bat Evan’s fingers away from his neck where he was trying to adjust the Ravenclaw scarf Barty had insisted on wearing, even if Pandora was not on the team, they would have rooted for whatever team was going up against Gryffindor. “McKinnon.” “Why? You interested?” Evan raised his eyebrows. “I’m just curious, I felt a vibe,” she shrugged, trying to pretend like her heart wasn’t trying to claw its way out of her chest. Regulus was studying her closely. “We all know you can’t tell who’s queer to save your life.” “And yet I knew you were gay the second I saw you,” she smiled victoriously at him. Barty laughed, “Not that it’s hard to call that one out,” while Regulus remained unaffected as he said. “Thank Merlin for that.” “Emmeline had to kiss her twice before Dorcas realised maybe she wasn’t just into guys,” Pandora teased her. “She didn’t realise.” Regulus snorted. “I still had to give her a hint.” Dorcas crossed her arms and made a point to keep looking at the match. “She’s just so… She looks very straight,” it didn't sound as good of a defence as it had in her mind. “And plenty of straight girls kiss their friends when they’re drunk.”

poor boy, you’re bound to die is a non-magic marauders clue Au set in 1954 where each of the different clue characters are a marauder era character (Sirius is mr scarlet, Remus is professor plum, miss white is Dorcas, miss peacock is lily, regulus is Mr green, James is colonel mustard, Pettigrew is the butler and Mary is the maid. This is wolfstar, jegulus, marylily, past dorlene and there is a rosekiller apprearance as well!!) and they have all been invited to the home of a mysterious Mr Boddy to have dinner at his countryside estate. However, each of the characters was part of the Order (the OTP) during WWII (since this is non magic, this is basically an underground spy ring) and all had code names and acted on orders from letters from a man only known as “D”. Now, ten years later, each w a reason to kill “D”, the characters show up at the estate they can only presume is his. When Mr Boddy / “D” drops dead, the question is, which of the 6 did it?? (d is Dumbledore bc I LOVE the idea of the OTP all coming together & someone killing him :)) for some maybe spoilers regulus was presumed dead ten years ago and is now in his undead form working as a double agent against the Soviets / death eaters (typical reggie) for some black brothers Angst & Remus was a POW & was tested on by the death eaters bc he can never catch a break (but he is a professor so wooo idk it’s relatively canon honestly)

so this is a very old idea where barty and reg have been a thing all their lives cuz their parents r criminals together but when they get murdered and the cops come running barty takes the blame (they were already being initiated in it, Sirius left and Regulus hated it so Barty usually got his hands dirty for him) so he goes to jail and to protect reg he sends him to the college sirius ran off too, so this would go over barty's time in prison where he meets Evan and tries to survive in there and reg in college finally learning what freedom is and meeting james but they're still holding on to each other cuz they've always been each other's safe place, but its hard to comunicate while Barty's locked up trying to run things from there and keep reg safe and there's these weird new feelings they might be having for new people and the guilt over it

favourite fic you wrote this year

How do I choose a favourite child?? We'll say Murder Husbands and Museum. They are both so special to me. I've said it before, but Murder Husbands was the first fic I ever wrote, and those boys are my horny, bloody first born children. I will love them forever for getting me into writing. Museum is really special to me because there is so much of me in them. Sirius is very much me in my early 20s in some ways (some of the things he says or expresses are things that I have said or expressed), and Remus is a bit like me as I am in my 30s in others. Every place in the fic are places that I have actually been to, and I have spent so much time throughout my life at the ROM itself...plus, I have had a lifelong love of dinosaurs that I get to express in this, which is a joy.

She whines, letting Pandora tilt her head back, their gazes meeting heatedly. Lily tries to press her legs together, the movement more of a reflex than a conscious decision, but the ropes around her ankles won’t let her. “Of course it is. There’s nothing I’d love more than untying you and having you by my side from now on.” Lily looks up at her with sparkly eyes, lips parted in a silent gasp at the sting in her scalp, at the way Pandora’s icy eyes keep roaming over the expanse of her exposed neck, pupils dilated. “Where would be the fun in that, though?” she adds, something wicked in her grin. With one last pull that makes Lily burn, she releases her, her head falling forward. “Fuck you,” Lily gasps, panting. She keeps her eyes on her lap as she shifts slightly in her seat, blinking away the stray tears accumulated under her lashes.  “Only if you behave,” Pandora replies without faltering. Lily chuckles, raising her head enough to make sure the other girl can catch her smirk. “Where would be the fun in that, though?” Pandora bares her teeth, a satisfied twinkle in her gaze, and Lily feels the already familiar warmth pooling at her stomach.

tbh not really!! like if things are set in a specific time period i’ll vaguely look things up but most of my work is just set in unspecified times and i normally write about things i know about already so not so much ALTHOUGH i do look up like a lot of stupid questions no matter what im writing so ig maybe that counts as research??

ooohhh this is tricky bc i’m trying to think of one that i haven’t already screamed at you but i have a wip which don’t think ive told anyone about actually!!

it’s quillkiller… duh but they’re exes and bella is in jail bc of reasons i’m not gonna disclose but the general gist is no one wants to pick up the phone and help her out but she calls rita as a last resort, even though they haven’t spoken in like two years since they’ve broken up and she PICKS UP!!!! she picks up and she comes and gets her and they have this big chat in the car on the way home but yeah that’s the general vibe it’s kinda ‘dial drunk’ by noah kahan vibes?? but like not entirely i’m not sure
