First time meeting your parents₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊

𝑫𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒊, 𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒖𝒚𝒂, 𝑨𝒌𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒘𝒂, 𝑭𝒚𝒐𝒅𝒐𝒓 𝒙 𝒇𝒆𝒎!𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓

𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆: some quick headcanons of what I think the bsd men would do when they meet your parents for the first time. it got a bit silly but I tried to keep it as in character as possible. enjoy♡

𝑫𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒊

he postpones meeting your parents for a looong time because he's scared they won't like him, but he eventually caves in. he knows he can't avoid the visit forever

he prefers meeting them at their place over dinner or brunch, in a more homey atmosphere

if he's anxious (trust me, he is) Dazai doesn't show it. he has no trouble charming your parents with his usual gentlemanly behaviour and jokes, although he has to physically refrain himself from making any comments and jokes about double suicide

Dazai only has good things to say about you so that helps make a good first impression. + he's such a sweet talker

"Dear Y/N is such a wonderful woman. It's clear that you raised her well– no, really, I'm serious. She's the most lovely person I've ever met"

he's quite evasive when it comes to discussing his job and past. he brushes off all questions by saying that his work at the Agency is top secret and his childhood was a✨️dark time✨️ that he doesn't want to talk about

but besides that all convos go super well. Dazai's a very smart person and he just knows how to talk to people

overall he makes a good first impression, but your parents are a bit weary of him since he's so secretive

-1 point cuz he starts lightly squeezing your thighs and touching you under the table just to see you squirm (this man is shameless)

𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒖𝒚𝒂

takes your parents to the fanciest restaurant in the city– his treat of course, around half a year after the two of you start dating

he does show he's a bit nervous but it's super cute

Chuuya, just like Dazai, is willing to talk about anything except his occupation and childhood. he may twist some stories from his past and make it sound like he had a normal family growing up but he feels bad about it after

he keeps getting phone calls from his colleagues so he constantly gets up and leaves the table, which spoils the mood a bit but it's nothing major

Chuuya is the definition of a gentleman so your parents love him. he also doesn't refrain from telling them how amazing you are and how happy you make him

after hearing so much about your relationship your parents naturally want to know if you're going to take things a step further and oh he's so flustered

"Well um... we haven't thought that far yet but maybe in the future if things go well... yes I'd be happy to make her my fiancé"

if your parents do give him the blessing in advance his heart melts. and it's so obvious how grateful he is

at the end of the night he drives your parents home. yes, he rents a fancy car just for that purpose– and thanks them for agreeing to meet him

i feel like Chuuya would be very moved by the whole interaction. it's only been the first time meeting your parents and they already welcomed him in your family. he never had that growing up, didn't have the luxury of sitting around a table with his parents and just chatting and eating dinner like that and it truly makes him soft. he wants it again

he can barely sleep that night– just lays awake in bed and watches you sleep, thinking of how lucky he is to have you. he realizes that maybe your parents are right, maybe he should propose to you. after all, he does love you oh so dearly and knows that you're the only one for him

𝑨𝒌𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒘𝒂

protect this man at all costs he's so anxious when he meets your family for the first time

right off the bat he doesn't make the best first impression– he's too tense and lowkey a bit mean. he's in foreign territory and he gets defensive

considering that he's been on TV before your parents know that he's part of the Port Mafia so they're also a bit awkward

neither of you know what to say or talk about at the beginning so Akutagawa excuses himself to make a phone call just to gather his thoughts. naturally, you go after him to reassure him that everything is fine but it doesn't really help

"I can't just relax, Y/N. They hate me, literally hate me. This was such a bad idea we shouldn't have done this."

"No, no Ryuu it's alright. They don't hate you they're just... weary of you. You knew it'd be like that but you just have to show them who you truly are" you encourage him, giving his hand a light squeeze "I know you can do this."

once you return to the table he composes himself and actually tries to chat with your parents. he's respectuful enough and when your parents warm up to him he fully relaxes

sweet boy rambles on about antiques and mentions Dazai at least once. other than that he doesn't talk much about his private life

overall 7/10 experience. bonus points cuz he helps your mom do the dishes and clean up the table

he needs a few days to process everything. for a while, Akutagawa truly believes that he fucked up the whole meeting and you were going to break up with him. ofc that's not the case but he's still overly anxious

needless to say the next time the four of you hang out he's much more relaxed and plans different conversation topics in advance so he can be prepared for anything

𝑭𝒚𝒐𝒅𝒐𝒓

he comes over at your parents' place too. he brings flowers to your mom and some "homemade" cookies (he bought them from a bakery then put them in another box) so you can have a little snack over a cup of tea

he compliments your mom so the first impression is great

"My, my, madam, now I understand how your lovely daughter turned out to be so beautiful. She has your eyes"

man plays mind games with your parents and speaks in riddles so he comes across as a bit of a pompous ass😔 his menacing aura doesn't really help much either but besides that he's super respectful

he really impresses your parents with his knowledge but they still find him a bit shady since he doesn't share anything about his occupation and upbringing

if they really insist with questions Fyodor straight up lies– and it's scary how nonchalant he is about it

after you all drink a cup of tea and eat something he plays cards or chess with your dad so they can have a 'man to man' talk

at the end of the visit your parents like him. Fyodor manages to paint a nice picture for himself and gets their approval– but it's mostly half thruths which naturally upsets you

so once you're back to your place and you confront him he just says it's for the best they don't know the whole truth. ofc that starts a little argument

"Myshka, please understand that I cannot divulge important information about what I do"

"I know and I'm not asking you to. I just don't want you to lie to my parents. You put me in a very uncomfortable position and now I have to keep lying from now on. It's not fair."

"That may be the case... but don't worry your pretty head over it. I'll take care of everything."

"Okay but then how do I know you haven't been lying to me too?"

"No, no, my dear. I would never lie to you"

Summary: Natalia meets your parents as your girlfriend

Pernille wishes that they could make the trip to Spain to see you more often. But with their own work schedules plus flight times and your own training, it was difficult sometimes.

But, it was all worth it when she and Magda got out of arrivals to see your beaming face waiting for them.

"Princesse!" Pernille pulls you in for a hug, cradling your face and inspecting you.

The Spanish sun has been good for you. You're practically glowing as you take Pernille's hand in one of your own and Magda's in the other.

"How has training been?" Magda asks as you all make the trek to where you've parked your car.

"Good," You reply," We've got that match against Eibar at the weekend so we've been training pretty hard."

"You're top of the table," Magda reminds you," You can't be having to train that hard."

You shrug. "Talia says she'll cook dinner if I keep a clean sheet."

"That's nice of her," Pernille cuts in when she sees Magda's eye twitch.

Your crush on Natalia has been going on for years now and Magda's never fully come around to it. In her eyes, you were still that little toddler who moved from Germany to England. You were too young to have a crush, least of all a crush on a flirty Spanish girl who practically had a salacious smirk on her face all the time.

Magda had always imagined that your first official crush would be on someone like Jessie. You'd had a childhood crush on her for years (even if you had never actually realised it) so Magda had just assumed that people like Jessie were your type.

Natalia and her flirtations were out of left field.

"Talia doesn't cook often," You explain as you slip into your car," But she makes this amazing pasta dish that I've been craving for weeks."

"That sounds wonderful," Pernille says," I'm looking forward to seeing you play this weekend. We tune into your matches whenever we can."

As the topic moves on from Natalia's, Magda finds herself relaxing.

It's not that she doesn't like Natalia. Natalia is a great girl but you're Magda's baby. She doesn't want to have to imagine you kissing a girl or falling into bed with one. You're her only child and the idea of you moving away to Spain and potentially never coming back was almost too much to handle.

"I saw that match against Real Madrid," Magda says instead," That was a fantastic dive."

"The shot winded me a little bit," You reply proudly, turning onto the street with your apartment," But I'm glad I caught it. I was a little worried that I wouldn't."

"You're the best keeper in the world," Pernille says," Of course you were going to stop it."

Your cheeks turn a little pink as you turn off the car. "We don't know that. That PSG keeper-"

"You'll win it," Magda says," I can feel it in my bones. You'll see at the end of the year. You'll win."

You don't respond to that as your cheeks flush a deeper colour, making your way up the elevator to your apartment.

"Prins is fully trained now," You say proudly as you unlock your door," And he's bilingual. Talia is trying to teach him Spanish but he's refusing."

"Good," Magda says," I knew there was a reason I liked him."

Your apartment is different to how it was when she and Pernille left you there. It's more homey and cosy. Rocky the Rock was still on one of the shelves with girl-swan and girl-moose. Everything still had a place but it felt more lived in now.

A few of Prins' toys were scattered around on the floor and there were soft blankets strewn around the room.

Prins yaps happily at seeing you all, wandering over to get tickles behind the ear from Pernille, who happily crouches down to give them to him.

She glances around slightly, feeling just like Magda that there is something different about your home.

A cat tree was wedged in one corner, with a beautiful long-furred calico sleeping in one of the little caves. There was a Barcelona training shirt that didn't have your number on it hanging over the armrest of the sofa.

There were shoes that weren't your size on the floor.

But, the real kicker was the soft footsteps coming closer and closer.

"Hola," Natalia says as she appears around the corner.

Your face brightens up as soon as you see her, only getting happier and happier as she drops a soft kiss on your lips before moving over to the kitchen area without a care in the world.

Prins goes to follow her, wagging his tail as she throws him down a treat. The beautiful cat from earlier also crawls out from her nap spot to get treats too.

Pernille has to stifle her laugh as Magda stares, a finger coming up to point between you and Natalia, who was now happily humming as she grabbed some butter from the fridge.

"I...You...She..." Magda stutters out," What?!"

"Mi vida," Natalia says," Did you want the normal bread or the fancy bread?"

"Fancy, please," You reply," Morsa, is something wrong?"

Magda's still stuttering, not fully able to articulate her thoughts as she gestures wildly.

Pernille laughs, looping her arm around Magda's waist in comfort. "I think your Morsa is just a bit confused. She wasn't expecting Natalia to be here too."

You frown. "But why? Talia lives here too?"

"What?!" Magda demands.

You give her a funny look. "She's lived here for weeks now. Did I forget to tell you?"

"Mi vida," Natalia says," Why don't we sit down. Sorry, Miss Eriksson, Miss Harder, did you want a sandwich too? I forgot to ask."

"That would be lovely, thank you, Natalia," Pernille says as she guides Magda to sit at the kitchen table," I'll have some ham if you have it and Magda's the same."

Magda barely looks mentally present in the room, her mouth opening and closing like a fish.

It's very clear from the way that Natalia's moving around that she's trying to make a good impression. She's met Magda and Pernille before but that was when she was on Spain's youth team. Meeting them now as your girlfriend is different from back then.

Of course, both Magda and Pernille knew that she's been your girlfriend for a while now. You'd been very excited to tell them but Natalia moving in with you must have slipped your mind.

Natalia looks unbelievably nervous as she slides the sandwiches in front of Pernille and Magda, taking up the empty seat opposite them and next to you.

The cat from earlier leaps up onto the table, brushing her bushy tail against Natalia's face before jumping down again to wander back to her cat tree.

"That's Reina," You say proudly," She's Talia's cat."

"I can see that," Pernille says fondly," She's beautiful."

"I brush her every day," Natalia says, puffing out her chest. She's really laying it on thick. She made a sandwich for everyone. She's showing off how responsible she is by bragging about her cat's stunning pelt. She's taking care not to touch you as much as Pernille knows she wants to. She's really trying to make a good impression.

Magda laughs sardonically. "I mean," She says," You've really made yourself at home, haven't you?"

"Morsa!" You snap and Magda jolts.

You very rarely raise your voice, least of all at her but it's clear she's rubbed you up the wrong way. You seem to regret it though because your eyes dart back down to stare at the grain of the table.

Your voice stays firm though. "Don't be mean. This is Natalia's home too."

"Magda," Pernille says and it's funny how similar to two of you are," We're having a grownup conversation here. Be polite."

Magda sighs deeply. Her hand clenches into a fist and then unclenches again. She expels all of her breath.

"How long have you been moved in together?" Her voice is softer now, more welcoming but it's clear to Pernille that Natalia is still a little on edge.

"Nearly two months," You say," I think it's going really well!"

"It is," Natalia says, finally getting a bit more of her usual confidence back," We're doing very well together...Miss Eriksson."

Magda pulls a face. "Don't call me that," She says," It makes me feel old. I'm not old."

That gets you smiling again and the hand you've hidden under the table moves up to rest on it, showing that you've laced it tightly with Natalia's.

"You're old enough to have a twenty year old," You tease and that gets Natalia smiling down.

She's practically beaming at you, looking at you like you've hung the moon and the stars and the planets turned with you at the centre.

Magda doesn't like it. She doesn't want anyone looking at you like that. She doesn't want people to be attracted to you. You're her baby, the little baby who used to fit so perfectly in her arms and used to sneak into the big bed and speak German just to annoy her.

But you're grown up now and she can't think of anyone else she'd rather have look at you like you were their whole world than Natalia.

"So," Magda says begrudgingly," Natalia, I hear that you make really good pasta."

You've always been a fan of BBC Merlin so when you had the chance to take a trip to Europe, you did.

You went to all the locations where they filmed the series like Château de Pierrefonds and Chislehurst Caves. The last destination is where the Lake of Avalon is; Forest of Dean.

Luckily you are alone, giving you the chance to fully enjoy the beautiful sceneries and serene atmosphere.

It made you feel a deeper sense of nostalgia and melancholy— how the precious characters you loved dearly died and were 'buried' there.

With one last selfie, you were about to walk back to you car when you hear it. A faint voice, filled with sorrow and longing.

"(Y/N)... Save us."

It's coming from the lake.

Something glimmers on it's shore, a sapphire drop necklace with golden chain. When you attempt to pick it up, the world begins to spin.

Suddenly, you were underwater.

Panic builds in your chest not because you can't swim, but an unseen force seems to harshly pull you down no matter how hard you try to stay afloat.

"Help me! Please, someone—"

Air runs out from your lungs when a pair of bulky arms grabs your body and begins to swim you to safety.

I heard that voice before.

"Are you alright?"

Realization hits you hard when both men stare at you expectantly, waiting for your answer.

You expect someone to go 'You just got punked!'; that would've been better than two men (who you have a huge crush on) staring at you, confused.

You waited for a moment but nothing happens.

Fear and anxiety creeps into your system, as many questions form in your head. Did I die? What's going on? What season is this? How can I ever get back?

Due to the overwhelming emotions, your breath shortens and keeled over.

Bradley, or Arthur (You have no idea anymore), quickly catches you and gently carries you to his horse.

"We must make haste!" was the last thing you heard before you blacked out.

Merlin, on the hand, knew this would happen. In fact, he dreams of you.

He sees you in vague images, like old memories— happily kissing his cheek, witnessing him use magic, encouraging him to do another trick, etc.

He already etched in his mind your pretty face, your melodious voice, your playful grin— everything about you.

Then Arthur shares the same experience, dreaming about a woman who's description mirrors yours.

Kilgharrah told him that the woman of their dreams will arrive soon from faraway land and will play significant role in the prophecy.

However, the dragon didn't specify how. He only said—

"(Y/N) is your soulmate, Emrys. She sees you and Arthur in a light no one else ever will."

Soulmates are uncommon, even for druids. Only a few were blessed, to have something so wholesome and pure.

So when he heard your cry for help, he is ecstatic. You have finally arrived. His soulmate... and Arthur's.

He wryly smiles at this. Funny how he shares, not only his destiny with the prat, but also you.

The trip to the castle was faster than they anticipated. Arthur told him to call Gaius and meet them in his bedroom.

It caught the attention of everyone. The prince carrying an unconscious woman in his private chambers will surely stir gossip.

But Arthur didn't care, and Merlin didn't know if he should be proud or worried.

The court physician said you are healthy, they only have to wait for you to wake up. He left to attend other matters; leaving the three of you alone.

"This is her." The prince laughs in disbelief, incognizant of what Merlin knows. "The girl in my dreams, I can't believe it!"

Merlin tries to hide his smirk, Arthur can be so adorable when he's clueless.

The reason for this is due to one crucial fact you don’t know but he does; Tommy has a crush on you. Which means you’re off limits no matter what. Rain washes away everything. It washes away the dirt of the street, rejuvenates the drying trees, makes the grass greener. In Austin rain truly is a blessing. Every living thing hungers for it. To you, it symbolizes the new beginnings and the losses. You half listen to the chatter between Olivia and Tommy as you peek out the window, smooth drops cascading down the surface. For some, the rain wasn’t an ideal weather to have during New Year’s, but to you, it only made the atmosphere cozier.

The crowded party buzzes around you, people laughing, dancing, and sharing stories. You can't help but notice familiar faces from the community seamlessly mingling with Tommy and Olivia's friends, since you were still relatively new you didn’t know many people other than neighbors and asked them to invite people. The room echoes with the joy of New Year's Eve.

It’s been a painful yet surprising year, to say the least. The loss of your grandfather, the unexpected move, the journey to find yourself. . . all of it had been a bit much, a bit daunting. However, as your mind drifts off to the new room in the old house you realize that some things are truly different. You have people who care about you now. You have the Miller’s, Olivia, your art. All in all, it had also been an amazing year.

The thought makes guilt gnaw at your insides. Tommy still doesn’t know about you and Joel, you were supposed to tell him. . .Joel was supposed to tell him but alas neither of you found the courage to come clean. The past couple of months had been so blissful with him. Neither of you wanted to give that up.

The faint smell of cinnamon reaches your nose and you find yourself smiling even though you’re only slightly worried.

Joel’s late.

“He’s fine,” you hear Tommy whine, turning around you see him rolling his eyes. “He’s a big boy, sweetheart. He’ll be okay in a little bit of rain.”

Big boy, indeed.

“Where is he anyway?” Olivia asks, stuffing her mouth full of crackers.

“He went to drop off Sarah—and there’s plenty of food, you’re not off to war you know. You can eat one at a time.”

Olivia slapped Tommy’s shoulder and took a seat next to him, “Bit weird she’s not gonna be here with us.”

“Sarah’s been beggin’ Joel for months. Finally, he caved when she pulled the ‘you know how hard it’s been for me to make friends’ card. Poor man didn’t stand a chance.”

“So,” you continue, sitting across from them. “They spent Christmas together, just the two of them. That was Joel’s deal. And she’s doing her own laundry for two months.”

“Damn, I hope the party is worth it.” Olivia gives you a mischievous grin, her eyes lighting up as they meet your gaze. "You know," she starts, leaning in slightly, "I have this friend, Jake. . .”

You cut her off, "I'm good, Liv. I'm not looking for anything right now."

"Oh, come on! He's sweet, handsome, and he's got a great sense of humor. You two would hit it off."

Your gaze quickly shifts between Tommy and Olivia. His expression tightens ever so slightly, and you catch the subtle change. Olivia, oblivious, or at least choosing to be, continues.

"Just imagine it. A romantic date, a nice dinner, maybe a movie... He’ll treat you right and if he doesn’t I’ll break his arms."

"Liv, really, I appreciate it, but I'm not ready for that kind of thing. Besides, I'm pretty content with how things are right now."

Olivia narrows her eyes. "It’s been a year, you’re ready for one date. Trust me." Then, much to your horror, she turns to Tommy and gestures to you. “Back me up Tommy, isn’t she ready?”

Tommy clears his throat, looking uncomfortable as ever. He parts his lips and worry knots itself deep in your stomach.

Luckily, you’re saved by a slightly drunk woman you don’t recognize and let out a break of relief. She situates herself next to Tommy, throwing a hand over his broad shoulder, she pulls him close and whispers something in his ear, fingers playfılly dancing over the fabric of his shirt. Olivia rolls her eyes but honestly, you’re happy and grateful for the distraction.

You’re saved a second time when the door opens, the sudden sound of rain drawing your attention. You smile instinctively upon seeing Joel, which is a bit rude you figure, because he looks miserable. His leather jacket is dripping, hair sticking to his forehead. Just how hard was it pouring outside? Must’ve picked up when you, Olivia, and Tommy were chatting along.

Joel, with dropped shoulders and head, spots Tommy first and then you. He makes his way, the defeated walk making him look like a teenager. Tommy bursts out laughing when he sees his older brother, the sound deepens the furrow between Joel’s brows.

Minecraft Beds

You've been invited to join the QSMP and had gladly accepted. You've been streaming for about two years before they took notice of you and invited you.

You were ecstatic.

During the time before you would join, you'd gotten to know Quackity who was extremely nice and very good at talking down tour anxiety about joining an already formed group.

When you joined the very first time, you were the very first person on the server. You were streaming it, of course, but it was still pretty early and no one else was on at that time.

So, you took your time gathering basic materials and chatting with your viewers.

You two quickly became friends, much to the pleasure of both your chats. He gave you some extra materials he didn't need and showed you around, helping you to get all the way stones so you wouldn't have to walk everywhere.

You streamed for about five hours but stayed on the game once you ended, mostly because you liked to keep Foolish company. In the end, you both played around ten hours together.

After about two weeks of the same daily occurrences, he brought up the idea of making a server for the both of them, so they could play together outside of the QSMP and just relax instead of being on edge with lore most times.

Once on the new server, you immediately took off and began looking for a cherry blossom biome, it was your favorite, you claimed when Foolish questioned you while running after you.

It took forever but you finally stumbled upon one, not before getting killed a few times by the nighttime mobs. You were ecstatic, gathering as much cherry wood as you could. You ended up making a very small house to hold you both over during the nights since gathering all the materials you'd need would take time.

Foolish took off exploring around the biome and stumbled upon a series of caves that eventually led him to a beautiful, huge, lush cave. You squeaked when he announced it, saying how much the lush caves were beautiful and you should build a base down there as well.

Eventually, you got tired. It was late, around one in the morning and you had promised your viewers a QSMP stream in the early morning. You said your goodbyes to Foolish and wished him a nice Sunday seeing as he didn't stream on Sundays.

Unknown to you, Foolish had begun streaming once you left, claiming he wanted to practice his building with different materials. He built you an amazing, huge house in the cherry blossom biome, well, the shell of it at least. He'd also started on a base down in the lush caves but he was mostly focused of the cherry house.

Anyone who watches Foolish knows this, he might be an amazing builder but he's not the best at decorations. Between the both of you, you were the decorator of the duo. Once he quickly built the shell of the house, he began asking his chat advice on decorating.

When they told him to just ask you, he caved and told them this was actually the server for both of you and he wanted to surprise you with the builds. They began spamming "simp" but he only laughed, while blushing, and urged them to help him with the decorations.

That next Tuesday, after both your streams on QSMP, Foolish was very insistent you log on to your shared server. You did so with a tired smile but frowned confused when you found yourself inside a dirt box.

He was quick to dig you out and guide you to the house. You were out of words, it was beautiful, more than what you imagine yourself making. Before showing you the interior, he ushered you to the lush caves where he showed you the, now-finished, base he'd made down there.

As you made your way back to the cherry house, he asked you to not judge his interior decorating and that you could change things around if you wanted. As you walked in, you were pleasantly surprised. You've grown used to helping each other while building, he'd help you build, and you'd help him decorate.

He had done incredibly well, you refused to change a single thing until you went upstairs to the bedroom. You noticed how there was only one bed in the room, when you brought it up he claimed because it was your house it only needed one bed.

You laughed and went to rummage through the chests until you found wood, wool and a blue flower. You turned to flower into dye, crafted a bed and dyed it blue before quickly placing it beside the one he'd put for you.

When he asked you why, you said, that since he made the entire house and decorated it, it was unfair to have him make a whole house for himself. He stayed quiet for a time and you were worried you'd read everything wrong until he spoke up,

"I wasn't expecting that." He laughed. You were quick to say that he could make another house for himself, you didn't mind but he cut you off, "No, no, no. I'll stay here with you. I only wanted to make it cause I love making you happy but if you want me to stay I can stay."

A week later, when Twitchcon came up you brought up going and he immediately booked tickets for the both of you.

He just needs to get a picture of someone so ridiculously hot she will know it's hopeless. He actually has someone in mind, a guy he'd had a one-sided thing for from his gym. Although, the guy is sort of an ass and probably wouldn't agree to posing for a picture. Naruto decides to ask him anyway. What's he got to lose?

"Top five" hahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha, what kind of nonsense is this? I need a top 15!

#15 - Them bickering on Kyoshi Island (01x04)

This one was one my favorite scenes in the whole show, even back when I didn't really care for Kataang as a ship. It's just such a funny, accurate representation BOTH of "When you wanna hang out with your friend, but you're still too mad to talk things out" and "When your is getting attention from other people and now you're really, really jealous."

Scenes like this are why I never felt Kataang was truly one-sided, again, even back when I personally didn't like the ship - it's just so obvious that with how close they are, lots of moments that could have been purely platonic end up having a romance vibe, so the eventually romance feels way more earned.

#14 - Aang nearly cofessing his feelings to Katara (02x18)

It's a short little moment, but I like it a lot. Aang is just so shy and nervous, it's adorable - and I actually don't mind that they were interrupted because we got lots of flirting in book 3.

#13 - The first two damn episodes (01x01 & 01x02)

I know, I know, putting not one, but two whole episodes is cheating like crazy, but I don't care. Aang likes Katara IMMEDIATELY, they go penguin sliding, he offers to take her to the North Pole long before he finds out HE needs to go there, Katara is ready to throw hands with everyone for wanting to banish Aang and is then losing her mind when he is taken by the Fire Nation. Even Sokka noticed they were getting a bit too clingy for two people that just freaking met and goes "Let's save your boyfriend."

#12 - "Baby, you're my forever girl" (03x09)

This one is just HILARIOUS. It starts out looking very realistic, sweet and romantic... and is then derrailed into embarrassing teenage fantasies, and Aang clearly feels so awkward when he realizes he had just been standing there like a dumbass. The entire episode is great, but that scene is easily top 3 of the funniest moments in it.

#11 - Flirting after he gives her the necklace back (01x15)

They are freaking adorable in that scene. Aang joking around when returning the necklace to her, Katara kissing his cheek and making him blush... peak cuteness. Gets extra romantic with the added context that those necklaces are basically the same as engagement rings.

#10 - Aang finding out Katara brought him back from the dead (03x01)

Aang just looks so in awe of her in that scene, like he can barely even comprehend how someone could be so amazing. The look in his eyes, man! I can't! I CAN'T!

(And for real, how can ANYONE still have doubts that the whole "Aang needs to let go of Katar FULLY AND FOREVER, ALL DAY AND EVERYDAY otherwise the world is doomed" thing is bullshit? The show literally looked us straight in the face and said "True love/friendship saved the day because if it wasn't for it the world's last hope would be fucking dead")

#9 - Cave Of Two Lovers (02x02)

Once again I'm cheating, and once again I don't care. Katara and Aang both blushing when she suggest that they kiss, Aang trying a little too hard to act like he totally doesn't want that kiss, Katara getting offended at it, "I'm saying I'd rather kiss you than die, that's a compliment!", the light of the torches fading away as they get closer to each other, Aang looking all lovestruck after it, then them both blushing after they're out of the cave - INCREDIBLE! SHOWSTOPPING! BEAUTIFUL! ADORABLE!

#8 - Katara not wanting Aang to go into the Avatar State (02x01)

I understand why Aang going into the Avatar State to save her on this same episode gets so much attention, but this moment is criminally underrated AND what makes that other scene hit so hard.

Katara can't stand to see Aang in so much pain and rage and thus refuses to be part of that plan. She is the one putting his humanity, his feelings, and his well-being before his responsibilities as the Avatar. She'll always encourage him to do what's right and help him do what's needed to save the world - but she'd never put him in any unnecessary harm. She'd never take him granted and act like she, or anyone else, is entitled to put him through so much stress and pressure just because of his duties as the Avatar. She'd never take advantage of Aang's kindness.

When Aang went into the Avatar State, it wasn't just about the protagonist saving his love interest (which is already an epic moment) - it was a friend saving another, a survivor of genocide saing another, the hero saving an innocent person who was in harms way. And more importantly, it was someone who was constantly treated like he needed to be a soldier/weapon first, person second, saving the girl that had always been his ride-or-die from the very beginning and that had just proven yet again that she cared about HIM, not just about the Avatar and what he could do for the world.

#7 - Aang and Katara VS Pakku (01x18)

Once again, Aang and Katara showing that they both take the concept of "ride-or-die" VERY seriously. They are really excited to learn together, and Aang is so pissed off when Pakku refuses to train Katara solely because she's a girl, that he says "Fuck this guy, fuck my mission, I'm out of here." Katara, of course, then accepts dealing with that unfair situation because she knows Aang's mission is important and doesn't want to stand in the way of it, even if she obviously isn't happy about it.

Then, once Sokka gives them that idea, Aang is super eager to teach Katara everything Pakku is teaching him, because, once again, Katara's personal goal of wanting to be a badass fighter is as important to Aang as his mission to save the entire freaking world.

They're caught, everything is going to hell, and Pakku now refuses to let train either of them unless he gets an apology, and so Katara goes into fighting mode with no hesitation. Aang, the absolute sweetheart that he is, lets her know that she doesn't have to do this to get Pakku to teach him - then steps aside when she explains this is about HER, her pride and her right to knock some sense into that sour old man.

Finally, after everything is resolved, we get Pakku saying Aang should start calling her "Sifu Katara" - which leads me to:

#6 - Sifu Katara (02x09)

That. Was. So. Fucking. Cute.

Aang wants to make sure Katara knows just how much she means to him, how much he respects her as a fighter/master and we KNOW he absolutely means it, and Katara is very touched by it.

And I gotta love how comfortable they are with each other. Aang practicing waterbending and talking with her to clear his head, Katara giving him advice as to why he's struggling with earthbending AND trying to make Toph change her approach into something Katara knows works on Aang, the push and pull/ying and yang motions showing how they just click and are in harmony with each other - it isn't just AANG showing he appreciates Katara's role as his master, it's the show itself doing that.

#5 - Aang & The Painted Lady (03x03)

That boy was simping for and flirting with the Painted Lady before he even realized it was Katara, because she was a kind "spirit" that he went out of his way to mention looked REALLY pretty even though he couldn't see her face. Then, of course, he has to praise her for wanting to help the people of the village and goes on to help her blow up a whole factory.

You google the meaning of "being in love" and Aang's face is the first the thing that comes up, I swear to fucking God, I can't with this boy.

#4 - Katara threatening to end Zuko if he ever hurts Aang again (03x12)

Once again, Katara and Aang take the idea of "Ride-or-die" VERY seriously. Katara doesn't trust Zuko really changed, but she does trust Aang's judgement and knows that he has the right to choose his firebending teacher, and that they don't really have much of a choice at the moment.

But she didn't forget what Zuko nearly took away from her, and makes damn sure he knows that if he screws up again, he isn't getting a third chance.

And I gotta say, we as a fandom don't talk enough about how, much like Aang's love for his people is explicitly stated to still live on through his love for Katara, the girl he already sees as family and would eventually marry, Katara was only ever willing to kill for two people - Kya and Aang.

This is one of those moments that proof that, even if one doesn't care for the ship, NO ONE can deny just how strong their bond is and how much they mean to each other.

#3 - Finale Kiss (03x21)

Even though I think they should have officially become an item after their kiss during the invasion and that the last minute conflict of "Maybe Katara doesn't actually want to be with Aang" that we got in Ember Island Players was REALLY forced, I still love this moment.

They look so happy, so at peace. They don't even need to say anything. They just lock eyes, smile, embrace each other and kiss. It's oen of the most romantic moments not just between them, but in the whole show.

Also if anyone has a Katara doll with that dress, please mail it to me, because my inner 5-year-old cannot deal with how pretty she looked on that scene and NEEDS it to be immortalized in a doll I can put on the shelf and stare at for hours.

#2 - Aang saying Katara gives him hope (02x12)

Okay, okay, okay, OKAY, we are once again in the territory of "Even back when I didn't like the ship, I still adored this scene." It's one of the moments that I'm always super excited to reach whenever I'm watching the show yet again.

Is just so rewarding. Every single episode we are reminded that Katara has complete faith in Aang, that he gave her hope before they ever met. Yet at that moment, because of Appa's kidnaping, he can't be the Aang she knows - be that he goofy, optimistic, super affectionate friend, or the kind, super empathetic, compassionate messianic figure of the Avatar. He is too hurt and scared, so he goes from lashing out to shutting everyone off - including her. He is doing his duty, but there's little to no emotion there.

Katara keeps the team together as they cross the desert, brings Aang back to Earth when he is snapping, parts the freaking sea, and then helps bring baby Hope into the world - and thus Aang is finally Aang again, and makes sure to let his best friend know just how much she means to him.

It's a nice role-reversal, with Katara being the one put on a pedestal and Aang showing reverence. It's sweet and makes all the moments in which she shows her blind faith in him all the sweeter. It easily could have been my number one.

If it wasn't for THE Kataang moment that is:

#1 - The Dance (03x02)

How could this not be number one? It's the definition of iconic. Literally invented romance. You open up a dictionary and see a picture of this scene in the definition of "chemistry."

Katara feeling insecure because of all the attention is getting, Aang going out of his way to make sure she doesn't feel left out, the way he says "it's just you and me", the way everyone is staring at them in awe... the lighting, the music, the camera angles, the freaking choreography... their smiles, Katara blushing, the way they lock eyes, the almost kiss, Aang holding Katara as they finally stop... it's too good. Just too freaking good. 11/10, no one is doing it like them.

Dragons Rising Season 2, Episode 3: Beyond the Phantasm Cave

We are baaaack!! Honestly, I like spreading out my rewatch because I binged all 10 in one sitting. Spreading out my rewatch makes the excitement last longer. Not that I'm running out of excitement. I will never get over this season and it's not even done AGH. ANYWAY. On to the episode!

I love this moment because it addresses that Lloyd is doubting himself, it acknowledges that Lloyd and Nya have been through way too much stuff, and it shows us that Lloyd does not want to put Arin and Sora through something horrific. He doesn't want them to experience "the horrors" too young like he did.

Kai being mad that Wyldfyre stowed away but not in like an angry way but in a "I don't want you getting hurt" way is just sooooo.

Sora is so right to be concerned. I would be too if I were her.

I get what Sora was trying to do with the grappling hooks, but I also feel like this isn't going to bode well for Arin. She made his thing something "cooler" because their elemental powers are involved.

I think we didn't see Kai's vision because they're going to bring it back later. I know some people are saying that it was of a corrupted version of himself, and honestly, I'd say that's a very likely assumption, given his history. He used to have a lust for power, and maybe he still does, it's just more subdued. If anything were to happen to him (pretend we haven't seen ep10 yet), he could likely succumb to that temptation for power.

ALSO I'm such a Lloyd "life" truther, so learning that it was the LIFE DRAGON who claimed him?!??!? Yes. I'm so excited to expand more on that.

Highschool au Ft. Arlecchino, Pantalone, Dottore

Arlecchino:

Has probably threatened everyone in class at least once, the teachers included

As you can probably guess, she doesn't have a lot of friends

But you sit next to her, so you figured you might as well try to get along with her

But then it seemed she misunderstood and assumed you were flirting with her

She starts treating you to lunch after that, to the point you're always seated with her throughout the school day

Now apart from death glaring anyone who irks her, she does the same to anyone who seems to bother you

She doesn't talk much to you, but she did tell you to blabber on if it made you happy

You figured it'd be alright to keep talking until she tells you to shut up because she wasn't the type to tolerate things she didn't like

The again you never thought she actually listened since she always looked so listless

Yet whenever you offhandedly mention someone giving you a hard time, you find them surprisingly cooperative the next time you discuss things with them

She always did seem a little happier when you told her the issue has been resolved

"Didn't I tell you? The situation will resolve itself once you distance yourself from these problems, just stick with me instead."

Pantalone:

Class treasurer, somewhat of a prick

But he does his job flawlessly, so no one can really complain

Except when he rejects their proposals for whatever class ventures they have in mind for "being too wasteful"

With that in mind, he's never gotten anything short of a perfect score for maths, ever precise in his calculations and analysis

He's the type of asshole to breeze through calculus and scoff at those who can't

He makes an amazing tutor though

With calculation embedded in his nature, he knows when to praise and criticise you, pulling at your strings to keep you motivated - even if your motivation is just to be praised by him

"Yes, good work, look at how much faster you got this one, you'll keep up the effort, yes?"

And you can't really say no to him when he faces you with that close-eyed smile and pats your head

It doesn't matter if you haven't gotten past the first part of the question for the past five minutes, you badgered him to tutor you first and he will get it through your head whether you like it or not

"You're not giving up already, are you? ...to think I had such high hopes for you..."

He says it like he's truly disappointed and sighs, resting his chin in one hand as his fingers tap his cheek like he's deep in thought

And of course, you being a simp caved hard and fast, hastily agreeing to give it another shot

"That's my diligent student," he says as he pats your head again, and you should be more concerned about how quickly his tune changed but frankly, he doesn't give you much time to ponder as he shoos you back to work

Dottore:

Terrible classmate, amazing seatmate

Pretty much an asshole to the class, but as his seatmate you're practically guaranteed to ace any science subjects you have

Taking notes too slowly and can't keep up with class?

"Write faster, fool," he says as he effortlessly scribbles down all the key concepts, seemingly irritated by the fact that you can't keep up.

Big mistake because now you're even more distracted by the way his long, slender fingers move so deftly with his pen

If he noticed you staring he didn't say anything, but you swore you saw the corner of his lips tug upwards in a smirk

You know you're in trouble when the bell rings and you realised you've missed nearly everything

Yet, for some unknown reason, it would seemed he felt a shred of kindness towards you, sliding the notes he so boredly scrawled over to you before packing up his things and leaving for the next class

His notes are like a cheat sheet to your entire syllabus

Which leads to you often praising how smart he is, to which he scoffs and tells you flattery won't convince him to keep helping you keep up with class

That's a lie, it does

It also convinces him to tutor you

Not the best idea when you're more likely to study him than you're work, though he usually remedies that by grabbing your jaw to turn your attention back to your papers

His face comes dangerously close to yours when he explains things to you as you write, normally with him standing behind you and hunching over you with his face next to yours

His furrowed brows and keen eyes scanning your work to criticise your mistakes were quite the sight to behold - his side profile is vv pretty

And rest assured, you will understand whatever he teaches you, however much it takes

If he has to repeat and paraphrase himself, so be it, as long as your attention was on him and you kept looking at him like he was a godsend

Honestly, he just enjoys the attention and fawning, it feeds his ego sm

"I suppose I can't expect you to understand things as quickly as I do. Ah well, no matter, consider yourself fortunate you have someone as brilliant as I to help you."

Skizz and Tango Secret Life Ep 1 commentary:

First off: Tango's incredibly awkward break-up with Cleo: "Well, we haven't had a good run together..." screaming. They really did meet in a cave, she gave him her heart, then they go separate ways.

She tells him "Well, Etho's alone, so if you don't want me..." The freaking one-night stand vibe followed by the rebound on her ex-husband. Spitting. Crying.

"I'll be honest, I've been with Skizz a lot." / "You know it doesn't go well." / "It's not about going well."

Tango tells Cleo not to call him back… he runs off and gives his heart to JOEL and she screams at him… amazing. The drama.

Skizz and Cleo gushing over how they've both been wanting to team up for a while... love that for them.

"Bros before Cleos!!"

"Skizz and I might be in the market for an extra companion... Now, we know you're taken-" "I AM???"

Skizz: "Is he taken? If he's taken it's just a challenge. We will win him over with our charm." Geez slkdfj Glad you're enjoying Love Island, you nerds

Episode 35 screaming notes!

So what if I'm emotional over a fictional, fake family spending one day of vacations together?

I love Twilight's comment about how he's glad the SSS is looking out for the bombing threat (and we know it's in vain), but it still puts him on edge to be stared at like this. He trusts them to protect civilian life (and Ostania's pride and joy of a ship) but he doesn't trust trust them, you get what I mean?

We shan't forget. The one thing this man can't pretend to be is someone who is having genuine fun and we'll drag his ass about it and then cry because this is a direct result of his traumatic childhood

Loid blushing when he spots Yor is so precious. I think it might be him blushing half because she saw his dorky skipping and half because… well. He might be falling in love :)

He notices the swelling on Yor's face, but I think he wouldn't even suspect her at this point. He sounded mostly worried about her.

And of course, Anya wasn't plaguing her with questions because she knows all, but it's funny that neither went like "Isn't our super curious five six-year-old going to ask where this bruise and swelling is from?"

SCREAMS

The following montage was absolutely adorable, and the insert song just made it even cuter. I love how it was Anya who lead them to each activity; neither Loid nor Yor had to drag her around anywhere, their attention was on her and on what she wanted. They even explored a cave! She was their priority, she truly must have had an amazing time and this is such a sweet way to end this cruise!

I mean, look. One of the ways Twilight learns how to parent is by fearing 24/7 that his daughter may fall. Very normal things.

Maybe it's because I'm the youngest child, so whenever we were out as a family and I asked to do something my parents would usually decline, because they had two more kids to look after and a place to go, but I have a lot of appreciation for the Forgers going around the resort and stopping to do whatever and anything Anya asked to do.

Very normal man who is definitely not an elite-trained spy trying to fit in. Normal things.

And like. Okay. Yor looking at Anya with such a soft face as Anya is having pure unrestrained fun is one thing.

BUT THEN THEY HIT US WITH THIS???

OH MY GOD. MY GOD. THIS MAN IS IN LOVE AND HE HAS NO FUCKING CLUE.

Like, for real. I can't stop looking at this. It's just his eyes but there's so much longing and yearning in them and also some sadness because deep down he thinks that what he wants is something he'll never get but this is really deep because it'll take him about three to five business years to accept he's grown feelings.

Like. It's not just "growing feelings" anymore. You don't look at someone like THIS when you're just "warming up" to them. He'd grown so accustomed to life with the Forgers that after Yor was away - though in the very same ship as them - for a couple of days he went all yearning looks and doe-y eyes at her when he met with her again. He's in LOVE.

I am so excited to see how their dynamic will develop from now on! It's gone on an entirely new page!

Anyway. I love how Yor went like "Oh they might see the wound on my chest" for the snorkeling but when she saw they could wear wetsuits she went like oh that's okay then and DIDN'T WORRY AT ALL ABOUT THE FACT THAT SHE'D GET SALTWATER ON HER WOUNDS. THIS WOMAN EATS HOT COALS FOR BREAKFAST AND WHITE HOT IRONS FOR LUNCH.

I mean, I'm guessing she is a fast healer and her wounds are not openly bleeding anymore but still. Hardcore.

And of course she'd beat the shit out of sharks. It's funny seeing the trio try to come up with excuses now but I think it's going to be a different type of good post-reveal, cause they'll be like "I have nothing to hide" and act on their abilities without a single moment of hesitation. Imagine Yor beating up sharks and Loid and Anya looking at her with heart eyes.

Aw, but look at them snorkeling. It's Yor who is holding Anya. I wonder what Yor's thinking is on that since she thinks that Loid is Anya's biological father and has been longer in her life. I doubt she thinks anything bad about Loid, but it is something that would make someone wonder.

I was so impressed by everything in the episode up until that point that I completely missed what the dialogue there was XD I only had more thoughts after I rewatched it.

Anya is having fun looking at the colourful fish. Yor has hunting in mind. Loid is… not impressed XD

Though very light, this could be a reflection of their characters. Anya is a child full of curiosity for the world, easily impressed by new stuff; she loved the aquarium, and she loved seeing new fish from up close.

Yor's encounters with animals were either for hunting (for food) or with guard dogs from people she was sent to kill. She understands the concept of pet animals, of course, but it seems to be a "secret third option", as tumblr would say. Her first instincts are either hunting or fighting, and since those fish were too small to be any threat (I mean, she's confident about fighting sharks), her mind went to food.

And then you have Loid. His wide knowledge of the world has rendered him almost incapable of getting impressed. There's nothing new for him to learn in anything… except for child rearing, of course. And maybe human connection. And so, he seems to be looking at those two in the last shot.

Just like Gram, Anya gets thrown around by a professional, super strong assassin and she just goes like "Again!" And Loid doesn't even make a comment about Yor pushing Anya too strong. He really took to heart and meant it when he told Yor that her being strong is one of the things that make her an amazing mother.

AND THEN THAT SCENE

I had guessed right, as Yor had indeed not rested at all for the entire three days of the cruise and had a long and intense fight the night before. AND THUS FANSERVICE HAPPENS <3 <3 <3

DON'T MIND IF I DO <3

ENDO KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING <3

No but seriously, there's a lot to love about this moment. Apart from how cute it is, Twilight at first only seems annoyed by how this attracts attention to them. He was already alert from how the SSS was looking at everyone, this would only add to his uneasiness.

But it doesn't take long for him to find an excuse for his wife. Blaming all her exhaustion on her work, being thankful for her going along with everything Anya asked to do, and smiling at her!! Bruh!! And he STILL can't see it, this man is such a good liar he can even lie to himself!!

Seriously the way Eguchi delivered those lines? Superb <3

AND THEN THE FAMILY THEME PLAYED AND I WAS LOSING MY MIND.

They didn't have to go so hard T_T It was a relaxing (and quite prolonged!) chapter to wrap up the cruise arc, but it was wonderful T_T

Even the Handler is up to him, though. Fullmetal Lady won't fall for his emotionally constipated bullshit.

AND I THOUGHT IT COULDN'T GET ANY CUTER!

She even drew the family in their colours! Yor in red, herself in pink, and Loid in a muted green! I can see Yor holding one of her stilettos, but what is the other thing? A rose? I don't think I can tell what Anya is doing in the drawing, but Loid looks like he's holding a bomb? Or a surfboard?

AAAAAHHH It was wonderful!! T_T

The parts with Yor and her coworkers and Yuri and Lieutenant Guy were actually added by the anime! I feel Yor about the gifts. I'm so bad at gifts you have no idea. And Yuri is on another level, he doesn't stop talking about his sister and he tells Lieutenant Guy "Are you psychic or something" and he's like "Sure sure". And this being this kind of show I was like "MAYBE???" but yeah no he was just messing with Yuri XD

Hey psst. You know what will look even more convincing? If you both slept on those pillows 👀👀 next to each other 👀👀

I was cringing so hard at the scene in the school! Anya! We love you as you are, you don't need to go embarrass yourself!

It was interesting, though, to see that Damian stayed out of it all. It's proof that he can mind his business and keep his opinion to himself. I hope he learns to do that more often.

It's been less than a week

It's so funny to me that the anime added the detail that it was Loid who picked the snacks for Yuri. I wonder how quickly Yuri would spit them out upon learning that XD

My mans tired. I felt kinda sad for him ngl XD

Okay, this was hilarious. His paternal instincts are starting to kick in to the point where he imagines teaching Anya the proper methods of deception. It was also funny that as Yuri was imagining his speech, I went like "Uhm you lie to your sister no?" and before I got to finish that thought, the excuses kicked in.

And Anya is starting to learn that actions have consequences.

This isn't what she manipulated two enemies of the state into adopting her for.

TWO EPISODES LEFT T_T I might have to pick up making crack recaps again for however long the next hiatus will last :'D

Please consider: Split personality Jason where Jason sees Tim as a little brother, but the Lazarus Pit is infatuated with him.

Jason tries to do the whole Attack on Titan Tower thing, but the second he leaves eyes on Tim with pit madness, the Pit falls in love. Maybe the Pit absorbs some of the memories / personality of the people that are dipped in it, and has absorbed some of Ra's creepy obsession towards Tim. Or maybe it just sees how beautiful and brave and strong he is. The Pit wants to be near him, touch him, hold him kiss him fuck him. And while Jason may not want to kill him anymore, he definitely doesn't seem Tim the same way.

Personally I would love it in this situation if the Pit gently dub-cons or non-cons Tim, possibly without Jason knowing, and Tim can't say anything because he doesn't want to break up the family or scare Jason away from the batfam.

!!!!!!! so there's this horror movie from the last decade which is about possession and there was this really amazing scene- i honestly don't remember the rest of the movie or even thinking it was that good but this scene sticks out in my head and it's where the character that is possessed is a young girl and a bunch of stuff happens so she's sent for an MRI. during the procedure her mother and sister are in the adjoining room with the doctors who are running the machine and slowly, bit by bit, the scan is coming in with each picture presenting a more composite scan of the body. and the sister is watching as it happens and she can see in the scan, the face and body of an entire person curled up in her sister's abdominal cavity. that scene!!! was so chilling!!! it stuck in my brain even years later!!!!! i love the idea of rather than jason having a split personality, he is sort of kind of possessed by the pit because the thing is- jason was dead. he crawled out of his grave for some reason and it was the pit that fixed up all the loose ends that gave him back his mind and i think it would make sense that the pits were powered by a supernatural quality.

maybe in repairing jason's mind the pit inserted some of itself into him and maybe the pit has incorporated parts of the other people who have used it over the centuries!!! and a lot of those people? not very nice, good people.

a lot of those people were violent, entitled, and selfish. like the prince who killed sora, ra's wife, after ra's healed him using the pit. the pit has too much muck and tar even good, honest people who are dipped can't reverse the effects and come out...worse.

the pit has been tainted for a long time. long before humans ever touched it, furiously hungry predators would chase terrified prey down into caves and they'd fall in, tainting the waters with the hunger to devour at any cost.

when jason sees tim he feels hatred and envy and anger. and if that had been all he'd felt that's all the pit would have acted on.

but...there was something else in jason's gut when he saw tim for the first time. an odd twinge and swirl in him, a feeling that was drowned out by everything else but was there nonethless. attraction. tim was an attractive person and jason's body had felt that and the pit that had made its home in the water of his brain picked up on it too and that hunger...that desire...came back.

jason does not know what happens. and his attraction never goes away. its only when that pulse of heat in him flares up that the pit seeks out tim and forces him to ease that desire.

jason never thinks to tell tim. to confess. because of the tower and because he knows tim would never reciprocate. but the attraction never dies down and every time the pit indulges it fans their flames.

and tim. never tells. he doesn't want the shame, the humiliation, does not want to be the reason why jason is ostracized because jason is rejoining the family. slowly. he and dick laugh together, he and bruce are on the mend.

tim does not want to be the reason that is disrupted he does not want to find out...if bruce and the family would choose him. if they would even entertain the possibility of their jason doing something...something like that.

so tim...keeps his mouth shut. and he tries hard to maintain his distance no matter the frowns or concerned furrowed looks shot his way. they will never tell him to forgive jason or try to get them to be anything but civil. but tim will see their judgement and disappointment either way.

tim does his best to find work outside gotham, he finds exuses to go to the titans. even though the tower has been, proven unsafe.

sometimes tim will spend nights in kon's room. kon is confused but accepting and holds tim so that tim can catch, at least, a few hours of sleep.

it helps.

sometimes. but kon can't always be there and tim gets tired of staying up an vigilant. he needs to sleep sometime. and jason...jason is always there waiting for him to.

On Sunday I watched the movie "The Dragon Pearl" with my mom and it has this scene where they open a secret passage with light reflected on a gem:

Which reminded me that in The Avatar: the Last Airbender the firebenders and sun warriors use a similar mechanism:

So I was thinking... What if Pandora was a key?

Let's imagine that the original legend spoke of a powerful Wizard who amazed people with his magic. He also helped people with it. There were thousands of rumors about said Wizard, but the one that resonated the most was that of his eternal youth. The man always looked young for his age, which led people to believe that he was immortal. Many, guided by these theories, turned to him in search of eternal youth. The Wizard always refused to tell his secret, until the people's insistence made him give in. He told them that it was thanks to magical waters. Thus, the magician allowed only a select group of people to have access to those waters. This caused quite a stir. Many people begged and demanded that the Wizard allow them free access to the waters. Some even went so far as to commit violent acts in order to scare and extort the Wizard. These damning acts provoked his anger. It is said that using his magic, he enclosed the power of the waters in a gem and hid it from the world. This did nothing to stop people. But rather the opposite. They called him selfish and persecuted him to reveal the location of the gem. He never told them. And to teach them a lesson, he cursed all the citizens and then disappeared. He never told anyone about the gem that was named Pandora. So it was lost, forever.

This is a fantastic story created from rumors, misunderstandings, superstitions and ignorance.

The real story is that the "Great Wizard" was actually an inventor who scammed people by pretending to do real magic.

The "magic waters" are actually hot springs. The guy found a couple of ponds hidden in a cave and kept the secret to himself. Just because he liked to enjoy them in his privacy.

When rumors started and people started asking, he decided to take advantage of this situation. He invented the story of magic water and allowed only people who paid him a lot to enter the cave. Some of these people were not trustworthy and began to lead others into the waters. They also scammed people to get them there. When the inventor realized this, he decided to hide the place.

He sealed the cave with an intricate lock that could only be found with a gem.

When people found out about all this they began to harass the Inventor. Out of spite, the man hid the gem and left.

Pandora has two functions:

First: It works as a map. Inside it has an old map that indicates the place where the hot springs are. This map is only seen when you put the gem in the light.

The second: It works as a key. The gem has to be placed in a specific place and must be illuminated with the light of the Moon. The reflection of light touches the lock and opens it.

Magic may exist in the world of MK. But the greatest attraction, in my opinion, that manga has is the ingenuity and the artifacts they use to create the illusions. So I like that Pandora follows this resource. It's fun and interesting.

It is also interesting to imagine how they find the gem. Maybe Kaito asks Akako (in a way that tries to be subtle but fails miserably) if she has ever heard of said gem. She would tell him no, she knows of the existence of many other magical gadgets that can work in a similar way but she has never heard of Pandora. Which would make sense, since Pandora is not a magical item. It's a scientific invention (or something like that). So the Witches never heard of her.

I am in favor of Hakuba being the one who finds out about the real existence of the gem or knows its location. Only he doesn't know his real function. How, his family owns this really ancient gem that has a very fanciful legend. But he notices the details about the moon and the light in the gem and questions if that's not what KID is looking for. Which begs the question "Why would Kuroba want that specific gem?" "Did he really believe in the magic he supposedly possesses?" "Or is there something else you're not seeing?" All of these questions end up with him keeping an eye on Kaito and trying to discern why that gem. Which bothers Kaito because he feels their gazes even more insistent and annoying.

I don't know, it's fun.
