honestly, i wouldn't mind seeing more coverage of moviebob's insanity. we may have lost dobson, but MB is still one of the all-time greatest lolcows, and is unironically a way worse person than dobson ever was. the worst dobson stuff has come across mostly as bitter, childish, and creepy. moviebob gives me the vibes of someone who, if he wasn't a coward, would probably actually be dangerous.

I might make a post about Bob here and there, but I am in now way informed about Bob’s stuff to the level I am about Dobson’s. I only tend to catch the big stuff, like his Sonic movie freakout a and the whole thing with him and Lindsay Ellis.

Wow seeing Vitaly Alexius comment anything about Dobson is something! I wonder what other Fresh Epics members would have to say about him. Very few other people (other than Brent Black) seem to have really worked with him. I think he was at least sort of friends with Humon; he did appear on as few podcasts with her and others though not sure if any are still up.

I dunno, but I’ve also never been one to badger people who knew him to tell stories about how he was. Like, of course I’m curious and would love to hear about it, but at the same time it’s their decision to share if they want to and I wouldn’t want people constantly bugging them about it either. I’d imagine most just don’t want to think about the guy.

It was a nice surprise to hear from the guy though.

As for Humon, I know Dobson would respond to their tweets occasionally, but I don’t think they ever really responded back. Could have been a Lindsey Ellis/Moviebob sort of thing for all I know.

The James Somerton thing really is showing the sexism that still exists in the online essayist space in that, as far as I can tell while people are rightfully PISSED at Somerton they seem to have taken Hbomberguy's warning to not harass people to heart (now yes this is helped that Somerton basically left the internet) meanwhile I can think of NUMEROUS QUEER WOMEN in the online essayist space who did things far less severe than Somerton (maybe said something bad a while ago or associated with someone who turned out to not be a good person as opposed to plagiarism and what can be considered financial fraud!! ) and were either chased off/nearly chased off their platform and repeatedly harassed, threatened and suicide baited.
