I've sunk on AA so bad. I have such a long list. Almost 100 on my bookmarks. Here is my attempt to organize my bookmark list. I know I created a list before But this is better. I'll start of with my general AA WrightWorth List fic recommendation I've bookmarked since I sunk into this rabbit hole. Buckle your seats because this post is going to be reaaaally loooong. I tried to clean it as much as possible. So if you guys are looking for some AA WrightWorth treasure trove, this is it. I'm sure there are some I've read and missed. I will update my list as much as possible. My summary is literally bare to none and just my spoilers and hints what I love about it so mmmuuuch!

Summary: Oh boy. Another monster fic that's just so worth it. Fluffy and ansty and fluffy. A betting game between Klavier and Miles on who can show their? defense attorney how much they appreciate them as a legal partner. Quoting Phoenix in this fic a pissing contest between the two of them. Has some Kpollo but really more of Wrightworth goodiness. Anyone who hasn't t read this is a crime.

Ace's All Time Best Fic Rec List (AATBFRL) April 2024: Ace Attorney
It's been a 6 months since my last list so here we go again! (I specified Ace Attorney in case I start doing this for other fandoms.) I originally planned to have all the old recs here as well but the list was too long so here's a link to the previous list. These aren't necessarily in any particular order, but if you can think of a good way for me to organize them, please let me know for future lists!

London, 2021- 7 yg Wrightworth hint of Krisnix. Phoenix is presently in London with Edgeworth. Phoenix is presently knowing that he knows about Kristoph but doesn't want to acknowledge it bc Kristoph has been really good to him and Trucy. But that doesn't matter right now bc they're going to the theatre.
if you leave the light on- 7yg Wrightworth. Nothing can happen until it's over but something Keeps happening. Miles will wait as long as it takes and Trucy decides he's part of the family.
In The Dead Of Night- During the 7yg Edgeworth invites the Wrights to Europe. Trucy has a nightmare and 'Uncle Miles' comforts her.
Phoenix's List- After getting his badge back, Phoenix has some regrets and sets about fixing what he can.
Perfect- I actually found this on another fic rec list and I can see why it was their favorite. Set towards the end of the trial of Bridge to Turnabout. TW if you have memory issues, it might be a little hard to get through parts bc of all the mindfuckery. I have to be really vague here so as not to spoil it. (Wrightworth)
Eo Nomine- Klapollo fake marriage turned real marriage but ig that's what happen when you get fake married while being real in love.
the best you'll never have- Rated M for sex reasons. I love the tagline: "Someone else's wedding is something that can actually be so personal". It's a Blackmadhi complicated relationship, what relationship, they weren't actually dating but also...
Apollo and the Artist (1975 - Oil paint, wax crayon, pencil, collage)- Rated M for mentioned sex reasons. Apollo is not an art person. But to Klavier he is art... and also a person. They've known each other for 8 years and it's probably been coming for just as long. It was a long time coming.
darling i'd wait for you (even if you didn't ask me to)- Wrightworth fake date bc Edgeworth needs a plus one to a wedding for some guy, it's not really important. But the cake sucks.
A Knight in a Loud Red Suit- oh my god oh my god oh my god Klavier gets shot and Apollo stabs a guy. And also love confessions at the hospital. They could have me also if they wanted.
Written- Rated E for sex reasons. Edgeworth moonlights as a Steel Samurai fic writer, and due to it being an obvious coping mechanism for his life and feeling Maya finds out... and accidentally sends a fic to Phoenix who... finds out. Half of the smut is Edgeworth's own fanfic, so we get like... fanfic-ception. That doesn't really work with more than one syllable words, huh...
Lover Be Good to Me- Rated M for implied sex reasons. 5+1 klapollo wooing each other.
Love Love Love- Rated M for implied sex reasons. klapollo is messy in a good way and takes wayyyy too long to call themselves boyfriends. Set from middle of aa4 to past aa6.
delicate- Rated M for sex reasons. klapollo is messy in a bad way (long distance is hard) and they break up but it works out, I prommy. If you don't like angst you'll want to skip this one, though.
(i was) enchanted to meet you- klavquill! I love them, I need to read more fics with them. They meet at the Prosecutor gala for the first time and sparks fly. Actually, they were fireworks, but that's not important.
Process of Elimination- Rated M for sex reasons. One day I will read a fic where Blackmadhi is not complicated as hell. Can they ever talk about their feelings? Apparently I like this, though, bc I keep reading and recc'ing them. Um, Nahyuta is looking for a fuck buddy and by 'process of elimination' ends up deciding on Blackquill but whoops! Feelings.
feel your skin- Rated M for one boner. Klavier is infuriating AND wearing lipgloss and Apollo can't take it. Cue making out in the janitor's closet.
moribund- I keep thinking about this one so I need everyone else to read and think about it with me. Pre Gant busting, POV Lana has to help clean up his messes. This a comedy, mostly of errors.
chronophobia- StarrSkye (AngelxLana) Be forewarned, you are going to cry. Lana has done her time and is trying to find a way to reconnect with the most important people from her past.
Crash! Landing- Junithena, fantastic traumatized autistic representation, if I do say so myself as a traumatized autistic person. It is very sweet and Juniper is a real one. I need me one of those.
In Pursuit of Justice- This one is not yet complete, but I preemptively j'adore'd it. It's a klapollo. Sebastian is great. He says Apollo looks like a frog (accurate).
Witcheln Woes- Secret Santa klapollo and they are cute and Clay is alive and it is sooooo fluffy.
Samurai Swear- Maya making besties with Edgeworth! Maya and Phoenix being besties also! Dash of mutual pining wrigthworth.
Missing You/Missing Time- Ok, hear me out, yes, the mystical bullshit tag is accurate, and de-aging is a weird concept, but !!! It actually serves this story very well! It is a fanfic that feels like a fanfic, but sometimes you want that, you know? Not every fanfic needs to feel like Little Women. Established klapollo first I love yous.

wrightworth is literally canon. THERE WAS 15+ YEARS OF PINING PLUS PHOENIX WENT TO LAW SCHOOL FOR EDGEWORTH. “oh, my ex college girlfriend framed me for murder?? i’ll let that slide. OH MY GOD MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND THAT I HAVEN’T SEEN SINCE KINDERGARTEN IS A LAWYER??? I’M SWITCHING MAJORS.” their dynamic fits every single possible ao3 tag. enemies to lovers? childhood friends? red and blue? pining? angst? they got you covered. PLUS THE UNNECESSARY FEELINGS LINE PLUS THE ONE-SIDED HATE LINE. oh and did i mention the matching wedding ring AND the anniversary wine AND the matching perfumes??????? i mentioned rivalries, right??? WE CAN’T FORGET ABOUT THE “love creates rivalries” LINE SAID BY….. you guessed it….. PHOENIX. PHOENIX BECAME A LAWYER FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SEEING EDGEWORTH AGAIN EVEN THOUGH HE ONLY KNEW HIM FOR A FEW MONTHS IN FUCKING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. BOTH OF THEM GRIEVING SO HARD WHEN THEY THINK THE OTHER IS DEAD THAT NEITHER CAN HANDLE HEARING EACH OTHER’S NAMES. MILES FLEW HALFWAY ACROSS THE EARTH THE MOMENT HE FOUND OUT PHOENIX GOT HURT. cmon man. WRIGHTWORTH IS CANON THEY’RE LITERALLY SO GAY IN COURT LIKE YOUR HONOR!!!! I THINK THEY’RE HOMO!!!! the article written in issue #72 of an official uk nintendo magazine was about the best fictional couples, and wrightworth was on that list. the writers of ace attorney say that edgeworth isn't interested in women, and it’s confirmed that both edgeworth and phoenix find each other attractive. THE OFFICIAL ACE ATTORNEY FACEBOOK PAGE POSTED WRIGHTWORTH ART ON VALENTINES DAY!! i could go on and on about this but you probably hate me enough by now. in conclusion, WRIGHTWORTH IS CANON!!!!!

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh boy, you know, I really don't write a lot of sad things? Emotionally, maybe the only victim of these innocent crimes (is me), which is a heavily one-sided love focused DCMK fic
In terms of actual tragedy, Corporeal (or: Oa is only slightly better than a shopping mall) wherein the concept is "what if we took the zombie apocalypse concept of Blackest Night and really just turned the dial up to 11?"
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of them? Most of them. I write a lot of adult content, and PWPs tend to end happily. My current fave is we carry our oceans within us, wherein Chopper celebrates his birthday over three different years. The last one is the happiest ending possible c:
Do you get hate on fics?
Rarely! I think the most issues I've had were in MZDS fandom. I set commenting to registered users only around then, and haven't had issues since. I think being mostly a rarepair writer helps a lot with that lol
Do you write smut?
Enthusiastically and with great regularity

A tie between DCMK x FF14 (you are sweet like honey and I am filthy from it) and Untitled Goose Game x Fallout 4 (Fallout 4: Goose Game Redux)

A couple! I feel like it's rare, but it's happened at least once or twice?

In theory yes? I have a bunch of WIPs that have never been finished that live in my documents, and then I have one (1) fic that was created based on an RP with a friend years ago!
All time favorite ship?
That's like asking me to name my favourite child. I am aghast, I am offended, I am waving my hands in a speechless manner, I am going to say Wrightworth because I keep coming back to read it again and again, even though I've only written fic for it maybe once
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I mean, if it's unlikely I'll finish a WIP, it's because I don't want to work on it anymore? If I had to choose, it would be a fic that I was co-writing with a friend from a fandom that I'm still into, but that they're desperately no longer interested in. I'm not going to tell you about it, because I'd hate to pressure them about it c:
What are your writing strengths?

I'm bad at identifying my own strengths. If forced to offer an answer, I'd say that I'm good at writing strong emotions between characters, both during smut and outside of it? That seems to be what my top kudos'd fic indicate, at least.
What are your writing weaknesses?
1) Commas. Fuck those guys.
2) Finding synonyms for the word "moan". Why must English limit me so?
3) Writing money shots is annoying and boring. I can come up with innovative ways to skip writing prep (some of which are: what about a blow job instead?) but you can't really write a porn without someone having an orgasm and let me tell you, it's really fucking hard to come up with a new and inventive way to write "and then [character] came. all things considered, it was pretty good." you know? Most of my WIPs are all of the foreplay and cut off right before that bit. There's a joke to be made about orgasm denial here, probably.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Sometimes useful, but I categorically ignore footnotes, so if you put words from a foreign language into a fic and translate them that way, I will 100% never know what they mean.
First fandom you wrote in?
Harry Potter. I'm a product of my generation.
Favorite fic you've written?
Again, why are you making me name my favourite child? I'm proud of a lot of my fic, I think, but off the top of my head, I'm going to list off a top 5 of fics that I haven't mentioned yet:

Slash Ships to Get to Know Me
Bleep (@bleepbloopbotz) resurrected this tag game from the depths of her notifications and tagged me and Annie (@udaberriwrites) on it, and of course, Annie being Annie went and tagged me too, so yay~
It got me thinking a bit, and I figured I might as well, since I never actually sat down and listed all the ships I had - slash and femslash alike. I'm only listing the major slash ones for now, but I'll continue my list beyond that... for real, though, I need to do this same exercise for my femslash ships (yes, I saw your tag, Annie, and will get to it soon!)
**Rules**: Name at least five (no upper limit) slash (M/M) ships you love. Each from a different fandom. (Sadly, I have no pictures here).
1 - Twilight & Life and Death
I'd be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the two slash ships I'm actually writing right now - Carlisle/Beau (MM Bellisle) and Edward/Mike. Being the only writer of the former ship (as of today) is quite the interesting experience! At first, they were just convenient characters to carry out worldbuilding plans... but jokes on me. I became a massive shipper as I wrote and I suckered Annie into them too XD
2 - Teen Wolf
I need to mention both my slash OTP, Steter (Peter/Stiles), as well as the Sterek (Derek/Stiles) ship that is so popular and well-known. I almost chose Teen Wolf as the fandom for my concept instead of the Twilight/Life and Death combination I settled on, and if I had, I'd be writing Steter and my femslash Teen Wolf OTP, Allydia, right now.
3 - Fire Emblem Three Houses
I'd also be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the slash ship that got me writing fanfiction in the first place - Ferdibert (Hubert/Ferdinand). I have no idea what about these two managed to get me writing after 15+ years of silent lurking, but they somehow did and I'm grateful, since it ended up in me being here, meeting so many lovely people!
4 - NBC Hannibal
Quite a few people know how I love the Hannigram (Hannibal/Will) ship - and I love that it's canon. It's the perfect darker ship for me! Heck, fun fact - I was heavily influenced by NBC Hannibal's fantasy-like sequences when I wrote Apricity's Azure Mystique dreamscape!
5 - Scum Villain (SVSSS)
You know what's interesting? Scum Villain is the only MXTX novel I've read, despite MDZS and TGCF being way more popular. I'm quite the fan of the main ship Bingqiu/Bingyuan (Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan), but I also love the dark ship that is original Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan.
6 - Ace Attorney
Decided to end this list with one of my more lighter, older, and cuter ships in Narumitsu/Wrightworth (Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright). Also, Momo is selling me on Klapollo (Apollo Justice/Klavier Gavin), so there's that! I love Ace Attorney in general and I'm pretty confident Capcom was intentionally making the whole thing ridiculously gay lol
...
You know, looking at this, I noticed two similarities across all of them.
First, that they all have at least a shade of darker themes among them. Heck, even Ace Attorney's Narumitsu isn't free of the ambiguity either, with the angst and all.
Second... I strongly favor the magical and supernatural stuff. I mean... there are vampires in #1, werewolves in #2, dark magic in #3, magical themes despite technically not being that in #4, heavenly demons and cultivation in #5, and the sheer absurdity present in #6

T: Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Doesn’t everyone? 😂 to name a few:
—Sam, Aisha, Demetri, and Eli were all childhood friends (the “Nerd Quartet”)
—Barry loves comics because of his mom, and that’s part of his motivation to be a superhero (comics canon! Headcanon in DCTV/Arrowverse)
—Ned’s the first one to figure Peter out, when they do their special handshake
—When they were supposed to be asleep, Iris used to sneak into Barry’s room, and they turned his bed into a mini pillow-fort 😂
—Barry’s Flashpoint adventure ~did~ change Caitlin’s past and give her powers—I’ll die on this hill, it’s the only way things make some amount of sense (and it’s no more ridiculous than the OTHER Flashpoint changes)
—Thawne was actually lying in s4 when he said he “hated every minute of [being Harrison Wells]”. Because literally wtf was THAT, writers??
—Maiko had two weddings: one for their close friends, and one for the Fire Nation. They were the first of the Gaang to get married…though they didn’t have Izumi until after Kataang got married. They wanted most of the “so, when are you having kids?” bs to die down first
—Lando introduced Luke (and Lucy) to hot chocolate, and Luke and Lucy love it 💞 (Legends canon I believe…tho ofc not Lucy since she’s not canon. In proper canon tho, this is just a headcanon)
—Barry makes the best hot chocolate ever
—Iris can bake better than she cooks…tho she gets easily distracted, hence the burnt/lumpy pancakes sometimes 😅 still, I gotta believe someone brownie-obsessed can make good brownies
—Finn is a legend among his former stormtroopers…as an enemy to some, as an inspiration to others

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
a whopping 4 can you tell I don't write fics often!
though there actually used to be a few more short oneshots, but when I fell rather violently out of love with SPN, which they were for I just. couldn't stand to see them in there anymore (and I didn't like the writing itself anymore either) and I ended up deleting them... ^^"
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
41,198 (and the deleted fics would only have added around maybe 1000 words? 2k max but I don't even think they added up to that much)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
the only fics left are for DBH now, I have considered writing for Sandman, but tbh. there's sooooo many good writers in this fandom, anything I want to exist as fics is pretty much already there or in progress of being made and so I'm rather content to focus on art, slow at it though I may be :'D
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
er, well since there's only 4 of em:
1. no one can tell where your heart is (885, still in progress. and has been for a while I am so sorry)
2. lay bare the fire in me (328, .....the same as above. but I do have outlines for both fics, they WILL get finished dammit :'D)
3. and I don’t dance, but here I am (87, ...which is the sequel to 1 I couldn't wait to write even though the main fic isn't done yet xD)

I usually do or try to, even if it's just a short answer, because I love engaging with people over things that are important to me (and with comments I don't have to start the conversdation so to speak).
I do however have a few comments left in my inbox that I have not answered due to the crushing guilt of not having updated in so long.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
freedom is a length of rope (technically also in progress to have a more hopeful ending added, but the longer it exists, the more I want to. keep the angsty ending it has. also guess where that title is from lmao)

and I don’t dance, but here I am though the in progress fics will likely end on the same level of everything is good and nothing hurts

no, people have been very nice and also so infinitely patient with me! TAT
While not hostile, the weirdest I got was someone trying to convince me to let them sort of cowrite the fic with me? I respectfully declined because I did (I do TAT) have the general story outlined.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
...haven't yet, but the two fics in progres will have it. We'll find out h kind then I suppose.
No sure I'd ever be confident enough for pwp.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have not and don't know if I would? If I did I'd probably only very loosely do it, because I am not confident I could do each included world/fandom justice. That's easier with art for me than writing.

not to my knowledge, but with barely any existing and only half of em finished I would be surprised :'D

I.. don't think so.

no, and tbh I'd probably be very intimidated to try.

but I think one that's been with me since forEVER is Ace Attorney's Wrightworth (or NaruMitsu as I got to know it hehe).

freedom is a length of rope like I said, the more I think about "fixing" what happened in chapter 1 in an additional chapter, the more I find myself leanign towards "no. this works better as an angsty oneshot"

hmmm, not sure I write enough to really find em. minimalism? Shorter stories in a more minimal style I'd say.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
hilariously, I think that's also minimalism. because writing longer overarcing storylines when this is your go to becomes difficult.
Or maybe that's just "long interesting storylines that aren't super predictable or cliché"

well, I am German, so if the opportunity presented itself for a character where it works I could.
as far as writing in general in English goes. idk, I spent a lot of my time conversing and writing in English even outside the internet, and it's hard for me to judge how well lI'm doing in terms of er. written eloquence? I try my best and that's all I can do really.
For languages I don't know, I'd probably try to find someone who knows them or make really sure I've got it correct, I don't trust google translate enough :'D

Smoke and Mirrors (Sephiroth/Cloud, drag queen canon divergence) has disproportionately contributed to this.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I am sadly monofannish, so at the moment I am writing in Mysterious Lotus Casebook 蓮花樓. There are a few fandoms I have gone back to writing to, like Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney when a new game comes out. I suspect I will dive back into Smoke and Mirrors once I am done with MLC and I play FF7 Rebirth.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Day Still Young (Wrightworth PWP)
Safe and Sound (ZoroLu PWP)
Storm Before the Calm (A Wrighworth piece I wrote for an exchange, I'm surprised it's this popular!)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do my best when I am able, but sometimes I don't always get around to it or I don't have the spoons. I apologize if you've left a comment and I haven't been able to respond. Thank you.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I smashed out Tarnished Silver (Sol/Ky, Guilty Gear, Major Character Death) in one evening because I was shocked that one of the audio dramas would have an AU that kills off a main char
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I mostly do one-shots or series that are comprised of one shots that take place in the same universe. Euphemistically, all of my smut has a happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Extremely rarely. And if I did, I would report and then delete.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
All the time. I think every time I get into a ship I write porn for them. My usual tags are Porn Without Plot and Porn With Feelings.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I am extremely proud of Born for the Fast Life, my Ace Attorney x Fast and Furious crossover. This might be the only multi-chaptered fic of any significant length I have ever finished in my life.

Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
A few over the years. Most recently, the entire Smoke and Mirrors series has been translated into Chinese.

I've done massive RPs before and collaborated on universes, but never a specific fic.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I am mono-fannish, so my favorite ship is always whoever is currently my ship, which is Di Feisheng/Li Lianhua. I suspect I will always love and have a soft spot for Zoro/Luffy from One Piece.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Two Bodies (Baze/Chirrut, Rogue One). I had so much backstory for them in my head, but it'll never be done. I need to learn that I am fickle and easily distracted and thus not made for long novel-length projects.

Action/fight scenes, car chases, Porn with Feelings.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing things I start.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm only fluent enough to do this in Chinese, and only for short bits of conversation. I've only done this once for 天涯海角 The Ends of the Earth

Fushigi Yuugi, but it was all for myself and only two people on this earth have read it. First fandom I wrote and posted for? Weiss Kreuz. How's that for a throwback?

I'm proudest of Smoke and Mirrors, mostly because the characters are so vivid, but also because of its length and the way it's been plotted, even though it's yet undone and I don't have an ending for it. I'd like to figure out where I'm going someday and finish it.

Bc of insurance reasons, my disease hasn’t been well treated so my energy levels haven’t been good. (Meaning I can’t be as active or productive as I’ve been in the past.)
I’m a multishipper and a polyshipper, and I’m proship. I don’t have issues with anyone disliking something, but I abhor censorship and harassment. So if you support those things, please see yourself out.
My main interest is Black Butler, and my primary ship is Sebard, though I’m open to most pairings with Sebastian and a few others (like Bardlau or BardRon, etc).
I also am currently in love with Douwata ship from xxxHolic and Wrightworth from the Ace Attorney series.
I am also a big fan of Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss.
I have a chronic headache but when it permits I’m an avid reader of manga, and watch a lot of anime, so you may see me post random content from other shows/books from time to time.
I also post positive affirmations; writing-related tips, memes, inspiration, etc; abuse recovery related posts; and LGBTQ+ related issues, among other things.
I’m an obsessive tagger. Except for posts I’m reblogging again, I will tag 99% of the time. So you can easily filter any tags for content you don’t want to see or aren’t interested in.
If you’re only interested in kuro content, I do my best to tag everything else with “not kuro,” so you can easily filter my posts.

Interest Check Questions!
As we are moving closer to the mod application opening date (March 11th!) We'd like to take some time to answer your questions from the interest check under the cut below!
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us via our askbox! We’ll continue to update this post with any other interest check questions before it closes on March 15, 2021.
Q: Will there ever be another of these zines?
A: At this moment in time, this is the only Wrightworth zine planned by this particular production team. However, should there be enough interest for future zines at a later time, there’s always a possibility for more!
Q: Do you already have a writing mod?
A: Thank you so, so much for your interest in helping with the zine! Two members of our moderation team are writers, and are excited to help with the writing process for our contributors.
Q: In the context of moderating for a zine what does that mean?
A: We’re looking for 1-2 graphic design/zine layout mods. Graphic design involves creating graphics for the zine’s social media and storefront, and zine layout will compile the art and writing into a PDF for print!
Q: Is experience required for applying as an artist? I have only drawn for one other zine.
A: Experience in other zines is not at all required for applying! All that we ask is for sample works/a portfolio for us to review. Popularity or zine history will not matter!
Q: Can you take (insert artist here) as a guest artist?
A: We’re looking at everyone’s suggestions very carefully, and will take all guest artist recommendations into consideration, but we cannot make any promises as we want as much space in the zine for applicants.
Q: Will moderator apps open soon?
A: They will! Mod apps will open on March 11, and will remain open until March 31st.
Q: If there’s a lot of interest, will there be more slots open?
A: If more interest is shown, we will likely open more slots for the zine, space allowing! Please keep in mind that we have to keep the book a specific weight in order to have the lowest possible shipping costs.
Q: What are the requirements to get in the zine as an artist?
A: In the application, we ask for a portfolio or 3-5 links to your best work. Ace Attorney art isn’t required for the application, but we will need to see artwork that can show all of your skills! Since style can be diverse, we’re trying not to give hard requirements as to what your artwork needs to look like. If you have artwork showing backgrounds and attention to detail, we’d love to see it!
Q: Is there a limit of artists?
A: We will be accepting a limited amount of artists/writers, as the zine needs to be a certain weight/thickness to lower production/shipping costs. 20-25 artist applicants is our target for the zine, but this can increase due to interest!

fandom(s): ace attorney is my main one rn bc i’m replaying the games with a friend of mine and it’s reminding me how invested i am in the characters!! a lot of my recent fic is atla stuff, altho i’ve been distancing myself from the fandom bc i’ve kinda exhausted my interest in it. finally i’ve been reading a lot of mp100 fic but i don’t think i’ll ever write for it. i just love how dumb all the characters r (with the dubious exception of ritsu)

most popular oneshot: going just by “one chapter” as the definition of a oneshot, the firestarters, bc it’s fluffy and modern au :) i wouldn’t necessarily call it a oneshot tho bc to me a oneshot shows like, one scene? so like by my definition and your sweet sweet sun makes me crazy (i wanna lay you down and see how you amaze me is my most popular!! (also @ kit u thought UR fic titles were unnecessarily long??? i’ve hit the ao3 LIMIT for characters in titles. it’s about the aesthetic
most popular multichapter fic: sdkjflakjlkj it’s two crowned kings; and one that stood alone, which is a w359 fic i wrote back in late 2017. it’s literally the last fic i haven’t orphaned from when i actually wrote podcast fic (i have 4 other podcast fics but they were all borne out of nostalgia and written after i stopped participating in the fandom). i rewrote all but the last chapter? the last two? about a year ago and i fucked up halfway through so like chapter 6 and 7 are repeated and there’s something missing but i’m too lazy to fix it. no one’s going to read it now anyway :) it WAS the top minlace fic for a little while tho which i take great pride in.
favorite story you’ve written so far: oh that’s a hard question akfsldkfj i honestly like most of them!! and i write a LOT so there’s a lot to choose from. tonight, we are young is def one of my favorites- it was fun to write and i got to explore the ways zuko and yue r similar, which i LOVE to do outside of a zukka/yukka view. you can lean on my arm as you break my heart is one that i’m really proud of? the whole “cooking as an expression of bato’s love” is definitely some of my favorites. a lot of my ace attorney fics would be categoried as my favorites if i hadn’t improved, too, if that makes sense. like they’re no long my favorites because i can see where my writing is shitty and it bothers me, but if i had written them a month ago they’d be my favorite.
fic you were nervous to post: figures 1-5: killing gods def!! it’s a lot more purple-prose-y than most of my fics and it was also written before i’d kinda like emersed myself in the atla fandom so i didn’t have as good a grasp on the general understanding of zuko’s character as i do now. tbh it’s one i’m rly happy w tho!! i have a few people leave really nice comments on it and rereading them makes me really happy. also it was the start of me hating the position of fire lord and being at least passively anti-it in my fics.
how you choose your titles: they’re almost all song lyrics!! only 14 of my 50 words AREN’T song lyrics and about half of those are from before i started writing ace attorney fic lol. sometimes i go into a fic with a song in mind for the vibes and then i usually go with lyrics from that (like in ‘cuz we’re the greatest /they’ll hang us in the louvre), but otherwise i usually pick an artist i’ve been listening to and go through their songs until i find a lyric that fits. sometimes the lyric doesn’t even really fit the fic and i just chose it at random or because i searching up the word “fly” in my spotify library or whatever. honestly i like coming up with titles? i know a lot of fic writers hate it but being able to just use song lyrics is v soothing for me and while i know that most people won’t search out a song just bc it’s a fic title like.. seeing that the title of a fic is a hozier lyric does affect how i read it and i kinda like that.
do you outline? i outline my long form/multichaptered fics with varying strictness. usually anything over ~8k will have some kind of outline. sometimes i go into it with every single scene planned out, sometimes it’s just notes on the side of the google doc that say “it's about MORE family. about how it's not betraying your existing family to find more” and “scenes i want to include: [...]” and “vampires... ngl kinda hot.” i’m trying to outline super strictly less bc i’ve found it’s less fun? but i do try to keep a plot arc in mind. since most of my fics are more character-driven than plot-driven, that usually just means keeping track of what character development i want to happen or what is motiviating the characters.
complete: um everything posted on ao3 i guess. also the MULTITUDE of orphaned fics out there asksfjldkj i always click ‘leave my pseud on’ so if u look up my username you see all of my fics and then a. lot of other ones.
in progress: - a fic titled ‘dad phoenix’ that is actually just a no DL-6 au with defense attorney miles edgeworth and single dad bartender phoenix where neither of them want to date for A While but phoenix gets wrapped up in one of miles’s cases. it’s about family. it’s about writing teenagers. it’s about the background franmaya which is ALWAYS what i’m here for in wrightworth fics
- a franmaya werewolf/vampire au because i’m ~gay~ and love rivals to lovers and also franziska and maya both being angry their older brothers r dating each other.
- my secret santa fic!! which i can’t talk about much but it does feature toph and zuko and also piandao and jeong jeong???? idk where they came from but they are Part Of The Fic Now also i forgot iroh existed for half the fic and wrote piandao as zuko’s father figure and now i’m in too deep.
- a 5+1 bakoda fic (maybe a bato/hakoda/kay fic??? i need to decide. that’s part of why this fic is still incomplete bc i can’t decide which relationship dynamic i prefer) that’s 5 times bato said he loves hakoda and one time hakoda said it back. possibly i have already written him saying i love u back and i need to change the title a little.
- retail au klapollo where klavier works at an overpriced boutique and apollo comes in to buy earrings for nahyuta’s birthday. klavier gives him a punch card (one that the store doesn’t actually offer anymore as a bid to get apollo to come back) and all of apollo’s family come in to use the punch card and also give klavier variations on the shovel talk/find out if he’s actually into apollo.
- a LOT of atla fics that i don’t think i’ll ever finish :(

- i want to rewrite the wrightworth fic i have about them not getting married bc it was interesting and i like what i wrote about but i think i could have written it better and made it more interesting. rewriting fics is hard tho bc i’m never sure if it makes sense to just edit in the new work or to repost it? and then if u repost it do u delete the old one? conflicting so i might just not

That Pink Sweater
Phoenix didn’t take out that pink sweater often. Most of the time he’d forget that it was in the back of his closet. Other times, while doing some spring cleaning, he’d see it and a dull ache in his chest would bring back buried memories. Memories he could never forget but he would make a valiant effort to ignore. Even after so much time he still felt dumb for keeping it. It was a tacky thing to be sure. At the time he was blinded by love was was just excited that he was even given a hand made sweater. The big heart with a ‘P’ in the front didn’t discourage him from wearing it in his youth. But now? After everything? How could he ever wear it with how emotionally heavy the thing was.
He’s thought of getting rid of it. Maybe donating it to a good will, or just down right burning it. Nobody would blame him for such a dramatic end to the sweater. Most people did try to get rid of gifts from their ex’s in ways that made them feel better. He was just too dumb to realize it back in college. Looking back, he can’t believe how idiotic he was. He’d just found out that his girlfriend was trying to kill him, for probably the whole duration of their relationship, and he still couldn’t get it through his thick scull. He was adamant that who he saw wasn’t his Dollie. It was only dumb luck that he was right. Could he even say it was luck at all?
For what seemed like the thousandth time, Phoenix pulled out the sweater. It was as soft as ever. Even after all these years, he made sure that every so often it would get a wash. It was old now, fraying at the ends of the sleeves, and a few holes was forming in different areas. As much as he thought of getting rid of the thing, he could never really do it. If Mia had known he’d kept the thing for all these years, she would surly call him an idiot. Probably take it away too if she had the chance. But he had lied to her and told her that he’d never kept anything from Dahlia, or Iris? He was too ashamed to admit that he couldn’t get rid of the sweater. Even now, when knowing the whole truth about what happened back then, he still couldn’t throw it away.
What’s worse? That his girlfriend never really liked him and just wanted him dead? Or that his girlfriend was lying to him the whole time about who she was, but may have actually liked him? Both were terrible if he was honest. But now he pitied Iris. After learning about everything, he couldn’t help but to feel bad for her. Granted, she did still lie and went along with her sister, even knowing that it was wrong, but could he really blame her? He didn’t know, and now all of his complicated feelings were back, and he didn’t know how to feel about Iris. Maya had once asked if he still cared for her. He didn’t, not in the way that Maya was eluding too. His romantic feelings for her had faded after college, after he finally wised up to the whole thing. And even now knowing that her feelings and actions were true back then, that didn’t change anything now. Not after all the years of being bitter and angry while trying to move on. He hated to admit that after the whole ordeal, he couldn’t feel comfortable about dating someone else, or even having any kind of romantic feelings for another person. While studying law was a good excuse to limit his social interactions, he couldn’t lie about the fact that he was actively avoiding it. He’d shut away in his dorm and focused on his goal that he’d forgotten while being in a relationship.
While it was dumb of him to think that it could ever happen again, he just couldn’t shake the fear. Even now, he was apprehensive about his feelings for a certain friend. And he knows it would never happen again, especially with him, but he couldn’t help the anxious feeling he’d get when he thought about it. He griped the sweater, almost forgetting that he was still holding it. It broke him from his thoughts and he just stared at it blankly for a few seconds, and then heaved a tired sigh. He folded it and found a box where he could put other old clothes in for donations. He wasn’t sure if he was entirely ready to get rid of it. But he couldn’t just put it back in his closet. He wanted to truly move on, and he needed to take this next step.
Writer’s Notes: I’m sure this has been done before, but I could’t stop think about possible interactions between Iris and Phoenix. We don’t get a lot between them in the game so I couldn’t help but to write something down. I wondered if Phoenix ever kept his knitted sweater. In the anime he wore it at the Berry Big Circus which I thought was weird. Idk I feel like it he still had it he would have mixed feeling about it now. Also sorry about any grammar errors! Also I head cannon that Phoenix is bi btw, and I ship WrightWorth sooo

Honestly? Probably a song for every sacrifice. It’s the first multi-chapter I started and I’m happy with how every chapter turned out, even if I only updated it once in 2021. Especially since I only updated it once in 2021, actually, because the fact that I still managed to write for it while fully . not thinking about ACoC is impressive.
7. Work I’m least proud of and why
. a curse upon you! sorrow fall thick and fall fast! without a doubt. Sure, I’m happy with some lines I wrote for it, but it . is Incredibly similar to you taught me the courage of stars before you left with the same concept and everything. Sure, you can say it’s kinda mirroring it just with a more tragic and less hopeful ending, but overall I’m. not very happy with it.

At that moment, she knows that, despite what the Church preaches, the only important tenet of the Bulb is that it shines brightest for those who love. No light shines upon those whose hearts lie shrouded in shadows, and the people Citrina has met so far seem to have far too many secrets. The courts may not be her domain, but she sees the discreet glances and the sly smiles on the faces of many acolytes, grins that are too sharp and eyes that shine with far too much ambition for her comfort. She promises to herself that she’ll never become like them, she’ll never let go of her own beliefs, no matter how differently those of the Church are.
She hears the whispers of court, sometimes, though not as much as Sapphria. They call her kindness weakness, call her love a fault, scoff at her for caring, mock her for becoming a cleric of the Bulb. But “In Sweetness There is Strength” are the words of House Rocks, and while everyone else seems to conveniently forget them sometimes, Citrina lives by them. She refuses to be bitter and jaded, despite the world she lives in. There is no room for unkindness in her heart. She will be a reminder of their house words, no matter the danger it could pose to her.

. honestly, I don’t know if I did... there was . a several month period of me just Not Writing at all so there isn’t . an easy comparison because I really don’t know how I used to write before

I want to actually write, for one :D I . want to finish the works I’ve started and get used to Completely changing things from my original plans because I’m fairly bad at that atm. I also want to get better at writing stuff other than character studies because even YDYD fic is essentially a series of glorified character studies-

Write things! Just straight up write! This is something I learned a while back and then fell out of practice, but writing even a little bit every day or so can be Incredibly helpful. To add to that, write things you hate! Even if you’re not extremely proud of it, being able to pinpoint exactly what you didn’t like about your work and edit it until you are proud of it can be Good
17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year
Hoping I can finish literally any of my works- but also . I have some Vague ideas for fics that I want to work on! I don’t know for sure if I’m gonna write them but I hope so

Unpopular Opinion Time
Speaking of disappointment of games: Dual Destinies. I got a hot take for it based on the first two cases I’ve finished for it and one for AA in general.
1. I don’t get the hype for Simon Blackquill at all nor find him intimidating, he’s at the “meh, he exists” category in my eyes. Yes, I know he most likely has a deeper story like Godot & the squad and you’ll find that out later but the other prosecutors were built better from the get-go and were more legit in the setting itself. A prosecutor who’s dark, shady and is threatening ppl the worst way anyone yet has yet is allowed to be in a case with his obviously biased way of thinking...? I saw that already in Edgey and Fran, and they were done better.
If his character/the setup was built in a better way like f. ex baiting the player to believe the reason was corruption/Simon was in the civil service or less severe for the reason I would’ve bought it better. But now? The whole intensity is lost and I just want to sludge through the 2nd case just to find something out of enjoyment. The proper villains/antagonists are the ones you find intimidating and somewhat interesting first and better/more genuine after spoilers, and Simon isn’t one of them to me. This is a wanna-be edgy prosecutor to me and nothing else until proven otherwise. I really hope that he gets better in DD and that I can say that in the end he wasn’t as bad as Calem “I swear I’m a neighbor rival” who I had to add details to myself bc Kalos characterization is a big joke.¨
(Also if they really assume you to buy he can just stroll in there, do his cases and then rot in prison again I’m only thinking how the system at AA just doesn’t care if they let an idiot like that determine lives. No fucking wonder Nick tried to update it at AA4, the whole system is beyond saving if the final idea of AA4 was tossed aside for drama.)
2. I don’t get people who ship immediately after one game (like AA1 or AA2). Wrightworth, a more common ship at the AA fandom is apretty good example in this. Some ppl were claiming Edgey liked Phoenix bc one line but it’s stretching in my opinion and there’s not really that many romantic cues, and instead the last cases of the first game focus on them rebuilding their former friendship & you kinda need that before you establish the rivals -> friends -> lovers scheme alot of fans see.
AA2 has something people can interpret as sth but I see it to be more of mutual trust, and even though the Trilogy forms some ship basis it requires the time since Edgeworth is kinda absent from the majority of the cases & they’d most likely try distant. If you want more evidence, AA3 has good material at the last case. Edgey is unintentionally overreacting to the fact how Phoenix fell to a river and organized everything so he could trick the judge that he’s a defense attorney for a favor.
I see why people ship them but I see them as close friends who reunited later and now are frenemies like the AA4 setup has Klavier and Apollo to be. Idk what the original writers intended but I adore how they’re in sync after tough times & are best friends who sorted out their differences.

How to Court A Fool in Under Three Months by @ao3snowyrunes (Wrightworth, Ace Attorney)
God, so I recently got into the Ace Attorney franchise and it’s SO GAY!!!!!!!!!! I just finished reading this fic, but it’s honestly fucking fantastic. It’s probably the most in character fic I’ve read so far, with believable scenarios and a side of Fran/Maya and TRUCY!!! I LOVE TRUCY AND GRUMPY SUPPORTIVE FRAN. So this is a WIP but it’s so good. Imperfectkreis is my favorite Corvosider writer in general, but combine their incredibly well-written, in character fics with bloodwrit’s gorgeous art and BAM I just sold my soul. I really like the direction this is going so far - the whole plot is so well-engineered that I’m jealous. Just. Wow.

THIS FIC. THIS FUCKING FIC. GODDAMN. This is so good??????? Seriously guys I’ve you haven’t read this fic yet, what are you doing. It’s so well written, both Derek and Stiles’ trauma is handled so respectfully and beautifully and this isn’t a case of ‘I fell in love so now everything’s fine’. I think the thing about this fic that I’m most envious of is how the whole miscommunication deal is handled. Miscommunications can often feel forced to me, but this was just so smooth and realistic. Actual goals.
Something Unpredictable by @artgroves (Merthur, BBC Merlin)
Okay so I know this fic is mostly smut but hear me out. This is such a good representation of what it’s like to be a teen. The whole childhood friends thing is told in the story without the help of exposition and the descriptions are so gorgeous they make me wanna cry. The worldbuilding is fucking amazing and combine that with the freaking AMAZING artworks in this fic, I’m sold.

*coughs* Okay, so about this fic. This fic. This fucking fic. 00Q was the first pairing I read other than Sterek in 2 years and this fic blew me away. The plot, the characters, the way Q is handled (not helpless, not at all), the way Bond is attracted to him but still mindful of his boundaries and sort of sheds his whole playboy thing. I fucking fell in love with this fic, I’ve read it so many times and the writer is amazing!!!!!! God bless

Oh jeez this is so beautiful. I get that some people might find this fic pretentious, but I’ve read it so many times and I still can’t get enough of it. The Outsider’s characterization, the lessons, the summary, it’s just so beautiful and gorgeous and everything I want my writing to be. I hope to one day pack as much things into so little words as this person has managed to do

I know I’m just repeating myself at this point but this fic????? is so gorgeous???????? The characterization is on point, Merlin’s hesitation and his friendship with Gwen, Morgana’s intervention, Arthur’s fucking obliviousness, it’s all so good... The premise really spoke to me ‘cause I hadn’t seen a Merthur AU like that before (and I still hadn’t) and they just fucking nailed it. Good job author

Again, this can be classified as a PWP but the angst!!!! The characters!!!!!! Everything that’s left implied!!!!!!! I could read 50k more of this and not be bored by it. This is the kind of smut that I like to read. Fucking heartbreaking

I think there isn’t a person left in the Sterek fandom who hasn’t read this fic at one point or another, but even so: read it again. The enemies to lovers trope is one of my favorites and this fic just nails it so well. The part with the demon broke my heart. Seriously, I was actually crying at that point. Also, I’m always ready for more BAMF!tattooed!Stiles. Sign me the fuck up man.
