Love how Elayne and Nynaeve are on a rescue mission only to get there and see the person they're supposed to be rescuing, free, and also holding off a forsaken.

Gosh rewatching scenes is a punch in the gut sometimes
Like, Jamie puts so much energy into this arrogant facade but all it takes is Ted telling him he's good and all of a sudden my boy is standing straight, hands out of the shirt, and acting almost bashful
Also like, rewatching stuff knowing about Jamie's dad gives so much insight into his interactions with Roy like. Can you imagine being Jamie, meeting your idol, and then being reminded of your abusive dad? Talk about a disappointment
And honestly, I can see how meeting that dude who you thought would be cool, but turns out to be a dick, only unlike your father he does have some principles holding him back? I can only begin to imagine the cocktail of like
Wanting Roy's attention and taking the yelling if he can't have something positive
Provoking Roy's anger to have a measure of control over when he snaps (and maybe even over when he'll snap)
Provoking Roy to tell himself he's tough enough to stand up to that guy who acts too much like his dad, so that if he can't talk back to the real thing he can at least pretend to push back against the Lite version
Also again just. The fact that after a smidge of praise from Ted Jamie is already taking it to heart and talking about being just one person in the team, but then the spectators go past and call the team rubbish, and all of a sudden Jamie's rejecting the blame because being blamed means being hit
Just. Loads of feelings.

I am chewing on the description of the Matron of Ravens being "panicked... and maybe a touch cowardly." hell yeah, give me tender, bleeding flesh on the god that used to be human. give me humanity underlying the monstrosity of the divine. for the god whose whole deal is hiding her face and name behind her mask, let that facade slip in the way she's so afraid of because now, something else scares her more.
