North American Nebula - NGC 7000 My first ever DSO target was the North American Nebula, and in a word, it was bad. I of course was thrilled, my wife was impressed I actually got something (the red stuff) and it began a journey that has pleased me as much as it has frustrated me. I used thus very telescope with a Nikon Z6 and no filter. I habe come full circle now using a dedicated astro camera and a really good narrowband filter. The first two images are processed how I normally do when simulating palletes -> APP then photoshop. The third image began in APP, then I went into pixinsight (which I know absolutely nothing about) then finished up in photoshop. This is part Two, and the final part, if a small mosaic which came out alright and which I will post later. . The Full Buck Super Moon of July 2022, named after male dear antlers, that go fully grown around this time of the year. Saturn and Jupiter was added artificially to this image because the Moon will be located between them starting from tomorrow till about 3 days.This full Moon was a super Moon since the closest super Moon to earth this year . Other names of tonight’s moon include the Feather Moulting Moon, Thunder Moon, the Salmon Moon, and the Berry Moon, indicating animals or fruits that are harvested around this time of the year. 2019 a year of Astrophotography! As the year ends I reminisce on all the images I've taken and worked on. I'd say it's been a good year for Astrophotography and learning new things. I'd like to thank those who helped me progress in this hobby and those whom I've had the pleasure talking space and gear with around the world on this interweb of things. I'm looking forward to 2020 on so many levels. For astro I'm happy to be trying new gear and learning as much as I can, as well as bringing a piece of the sky to you in the form of prints and many more in the works I am grateful for my family and happy to have them with me in 2020 along with good friends who have stuck by my side when life was getting rough Anyways these are but some of the astrophotos I've accomplished of this year. The Dumbbell Nebula - M27 A couple of firsts with this one, first time on this target and first time I ran two telescopes, both imaging, at the same time. My son Karl really helped me a lot setting everything up and monitoring how things ran. M27 is a little small for my longest focal length, but it was fun gathering data on such a popular target. New for me, I am happy with how it came out, especially with only 1 hour of data.
