At the end of August and beginning of September we had a very nice stretch of clear, windless nights with pretty good seeing and transparency. For nine nights I had two telescopes capturing those elusive but ever-present photons from afar. Here we have NGC 6888, the Crescent Nebula, with 5.5 hours of acquisition time. The central star of this interesting nebula is classified as a Wolf-Rayet star. These types of stars are known for generating fierce stellar winds as they shed their outer envelopes of gases. The complex and unique structure of this nebula is likely the result of these stellar winds. NGC 6888 is burning through its fuel at a prodigious rate and will ultimately ignite in a spectacular supernova explosion. #clayhausphotography #astropixelprocessor #pixinsight #nebula #astrophoto #astrophotographer #astrophotography #astronomy #asiairpro #asi533mcpro #explorescientific https://www.instagram.com/p/CiUB4qjOObF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

*Lunar Surface* *It is always worthwhile to take a good look at our Moon and the interesting details on its surface. How pleasantly small our earthly problems become...* SINUS IRIDUM can be seen here in this pic & with Golden Handle. Golden Handle of the moon … a play of light on the lunar surface, along the terminator line, visible four to five days before full moon. At this time, the high peaks of the lunar Montes Jura (Jura Mountains) are lit by sunlight. They appear as a bright arc, in front of the flat and still-dark plain of lava on the moon, known as the Sinus Iridum (the Bay of Rainbows). It, in turn, is part of the larger lava plain we call the Mare Imbrium (Sea of Rains). This mountain range spread across 422 kilometres becomes visible on the tenth day of the first fortnight between the new moon day and full moon day. The sun’s light illuminates this mountain and when the light dims, the mountain displays a golden hue. This is why this feature is called the Golden Handle. Already Galileo Galilei (1564–1642) knew of the »golden handle« and used his observations to estimate the altitude of the moon mountains – a fascinating thought *Captured on:* __Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 *Equipment*: __Explore Scientific ED 127mm Carbon Fiber f/7.5 AirSpaced APO Triplet OTA... __Paramount MX Mount... __ZWO ASI185MC Camera.... *Processing*: __approx 2000 frames captured in SharpCap for all images __Stacked in Autostakkert3 __Wavelets in Registax __Enhanced in Lightroom & Snapseed *Location:* __Bangalore, Karnataka, India *Sky Conditions:* __Bortle Scale 7.8 __Clear Sky, 8/10 __Few surrounding village lights interference #lunar #astronomy #cosmos #planetary #planetphotography #astrophotography #astrophysics #astrophotographyindia #moonphotography #bangaloreastronomyclub #delhiastronomyclub #sharpcap #explorescientific #paramount #snapseed #zwoasi #karnataka #india © Vijay Kapoor Follow My Instagram for More pics: http://Instagram.com/lunar_mountains_climber (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/COhjs_jMUGl/?igshid=cnrna86o772l

Many young people, boys and girls, wonder about the stars in our universe and wish to explore space. This was the big dream of a teenage Iranian girl Sepideh Hooshyar. Sepideh was inspired by Einstein and the first female Persian astronaut Anousheh Ansari, which further fueled her passion for science and space exploration. Armed with a telescope, sixteen-year-old Sepideh would make excursions with her friends into the desert near her village to stargaze and learn more about the universe. But her strong desires and her stargazing trips flew in the face of tradition and was of grave concern to her family and community. A Danish filmmaker Berit Madsen, learned of Sepideh's story and struggle and wrote and directed the award-winning documentary "Sepideh - Reaching for the Stars" which premiered at the 2013 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, and eventually premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Now married and a mother, Sepideh continues her work in astronomical science with a supportive husband. She lectures to international audiences to share her passion and her knowledge. Sepideh Hooshyar is our special guest on the next Explore Now program. Watch it live today at 3:00 p.m. Central. Farah Payan of Woodland Hills Camera & Telescope has volunteered to serve as translator. THE NORTH AMERICA NEBULA. Constellation Cygnus, close to Deneb. Distance from us: 2,202 light years. I know this nebula is big for my setup, but I still wanted a piece of It. This is a great target right now because it is not far away from the North Celestial Pole and makes it easy to track! This is a 2 hours and 45 minutes total exposure. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do! #telescope #astrobackyard #skywatcher #amateurphotography #space #longexposure #amateurphotographer #zwoasi #astrophotography #astropics #astronomy #stars #explorescientific #skywatchereq6rpro #stargazer #starchaser #skyphotography #nightimages #nightskyphotography #cosmos #science #amazingskyview #longexposureshot #bortle9 #highpointscientific #universetoday #zwoimageoftheday #ngc7000 #learning (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCoa9H7pSb1/?igshid=88tmvlacr442

The pleiades (m45) revisited With continuous clouds overhead, I venture further into revisiting some of my photos and use new processing techniques I've learned along the way. This is data from a previous m45 I did back in fall of 2017 which was taken at dark skies in the Texas astronomical society's site in atoka Oklahoma at bortle 3 on the light pollution scale. This was the first time I've actually imaged at dark skies as some of which my beginning era of 2017 was taken in mostly severe light pollution ranking in bortle 7-8 washing out much details and hadn't delved into narrowband at that time as i was in mere baby steps of learning astrophotography. The pleiades is one of my favorite deep sky objects to observe and image as was also my first astrophoto, taking one small step into learning how to image the cosmos.  To me this object always serves as a personal benchmark of progress as there are many ways to bring this beauty to light.  In this rendition I wanted to bring forth the faint dusty structures the star cluster is passing through in our home galaxy.  Besides pixinsight I went to the dark side and used a neat little software called Straton destar. It does what it says, removes stars without all the guesswork in which I used the starless version to help bring forth the space dust without the worry of blowing the stars out and the blended them back into the picture. The original rendition is still on my page for you to see and includes more details and a short story of information and more emphasis on the blue in the stars/cluster.  This object can be seen in the late fall to early spring, rising before the constellation Orion.  It can be seen with the naked eye even in some cases of severe light pollution, so almost everyone can enjoy this marvelous wonder. As always thanks for looking and always keep your head up to the stars! 🎶🎸🎶 #astrophotography #deepspace #nightsky #surreal #photography #space #longexposure #stars #pixinsight #nature #universe #night #nightphotography #astronomy #jewels #OPTeam #canoncamera #explorescientific #subaru #spacestuff #texasphotographer #dannydevito #nasa #darkskies #astrotech #cosmos https://www.instagram.com/p/BoZeLJoFzf0/?igshid=1xxyx5k6o3mo4

Crescent Nebula - A Collaboration Myself & @bostronomy decided to take our data on the Crescent Nebula and see if we could combine them as an experiment for future potential collaborations. This test was mainly to check and see how and what we needed to do to be able to combine our data that was taken at different focal lengths and different cameras. This was not planned, so our framing and alignments were different, but I was able to make it work using Astro Pixel Processor. A full write up on the process and some of the settings used is on my website, link in bio. . 61 x 420s 800 ISO Meade Series 6000 80mm Triplet APO Canon EOS Ra . 50 x 300s 100 Gain Explore Scientific ED102 ZWO ASI 2600mc-Pro . . . #astrophotography  #astrophoto  #astronomy  #highpointscientific  #ShotOnCanon  #earliestlight  #OPTeam  #agenaastro  #brainnebula  #crescentnubula  #ngc6888  #meadeinstruments  #rhodeisland  #nightphotography  #nightsky  #nebula  #cygnus  #photography  #photooftheday  #apod  #nasa  #space  #science  #milkyway  #spacephoto  #canonphotography  #ig_spaceimage  #ig_astrophotography  #explorescientific #zwo (at Providence, Rhode Island) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQvnHYvsNjJ/?utm_medium=tumblr

First playing around taking moon shots with an astro camera-telescope setup. A single 1 millisecond exposure of a 80+% moon. Clouds came in after a half hour or so of fiddling but of the 45-plus exposures the next step will be to sort though them and blend them for a cleaner image. #clayhausphotography #moon #moonphotography #astrophotography #explorescientific #zwocameras #celestronavx #luna #lunar https://www.instagram.com/p/CeuGpxzPb9s/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

*Lunar Surface* *PLATO* is a lava-filled lunar impact crater on the Moon. Its diameter is 101 km. East of the crater, among the Montes Alpes, are several rilles collectively named the Rimae Plato. Plato has developed a reputation for transient lunar phenomena, including flashes of light, unusual colour patterns, and areas of hazy visibility. These anomalies are likely a result of seeing conditions, combined with the effects of different illumination angles of the Sun. On October 15, 1789, J.H. Schröter observed two bright bursts of light, each one of them composed of many single, separate small sparks, appearing on the night side of the moon near crater Plato and Mare Imbrium. In 1794, a report circulated that it was possible to see a volcano on the moon with the naked eye. *Craters:* PLATO BLISS and many more.... *Hills:* MONTES TENERIFFE MONS PICO *Captured on:* __Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 *Equipment*: __Explore Scientific ED 127mm Carbon Fiber f/7.5 AirSpaced APO Triplet OTA... __Paramount MX Mount... __ZWO ASI185MC Camera.... *Processing*: __2004 frames captured in SharpCap __Stacked in Autostakkert3 __Wavelets in Registax __Enhanced in Lightroom & Snapseed *Location:* __Bangalore, Karnataka, India *Sky Conditions:* __Bortle Scale 7.8 __Clear Sky, 8/10 #lunar #astronomy #cosmos #planetary #planetphotography #astrophotography #astrophysics #astrophotographyindia #moonphotography #bangaloreastronomyclub #delhiastronomyclub #sharpcap #explorescientific #paramount #snapseed #zwoasi #karnataka #india © Vijay Kapoor Follow My Instagram for More pics: http://Instagram.com/lunar_mountains_climber (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/COvZzk1Jr4v/?igshid=1j6dwgbv6m0d6

💥🤔 Vegetables are alive ( Cytoplasmic streaming in an onion cell). The next time you wander amongst the produce in your local market, think about this: Those fruits and veggies are still alive. Though they may not be able to jump up and move, new research shows that some vegetables and fruits exhibit circadian rhythms, and can adjust their defensive compounds and nutrients accordingly. You can see here, The cell transports nutrients, proteins, sugars, and lipids along highway strands of the cell's skeleton or cytoskeleton. The big round thing in the nucleus in the onion cell, it holds the DNA. 🎥 Interesting knowledge by @my.microscopic.world #science #sciencefacts #sci #scientist #onion #onions #cell #dna #alive #vegetables #cytoplasmicstreaming #nucleus #onioncells #skeleton #cytoskeleton #biology #amazing #intelligence #knowledge #knowledgeispower #knowledgeofself #scienceknowledge #explorescientific #knowscience #scienceexperiment #scienceisawesome #surprisedelivery https://www.instagram.com/reel/CRQ2kZcjkAg/?utm_medium=tumblr
