Inspiration Saturday/Several Sentence Sunday

...altho it's monday lmao. got tagged by @thebrandywine so here have some of the Piers in a skirt bc you were moderately interested lol.

This was stupid. He shouldn’t have even offered. It had been egoistical to think he could pull it off. “Hey, try this on with it!” Leon said, excitedly, as he quickly opened the door of the cubicle so he could slip inside too. He was holding a v-neck shirt with trumpet sleeves, his eyes on the shirt as he hung it up in one of the hooks. “It should be the right size but if it’s not I can run and get another to—” That was when he cut himself off, as he noticed the way discomfort was probably oozing off Piers. “Hey. What’s up?” he asked, shifting closer, so he could place his chin on Piers’ shoulder from behind. Their eyes met in the mirror and Piers considered for a moment just sucking it up and saying nothing. He had never been able to – or willing to – lie to Leon, though, so he folded in like ten seconds flat. “I feel kinda stupid.”

for the positive opinions meme: Teal'c

Teal'c is actually my favourite SG1 character! He's a straight up Icon.

I will always be enamoured with how he makes a split second decision to defect (seemingly. We learn he's been looking for a good chance for a Long Time) and throws his lot in with earth. And it's not something that will be well received by his family, but he does it anyway. For his family. Because he knows this is wrong an that they're enslaved and wants to Actually do something about it enough that he wasn't willing to go half ass on something that would only end in his death and not Actually beating his enslavers. So he waited, and the moment he saw the chance he took it with both hands and does not look back until these monsters are done for.

Also, when he defects he finds himself with a bunch of nerds as a pseudo family, ones who will go to the bat for him. And they're nerds with no lives to speak of (affectionate). So Teal'c finds himself learning about a new planet and a new culture and at some point that is not definable in the show, he seems to know More about pop culture than said nerds he hangs around because they're all obsessed with their work and/or random special interests (yes o'Neill you as well. Every time he's at work at tells his team to take time off or get a life i'm like, dude, you are AT the devil's sacrament, you can't talk!!).

and thus, to cut a long story short, Teal'c is a huge star wars fan. Is better at pop culture than the ones from earth. He also relaxes so much as time goes on! He's actually free to be like that, he doesn't have to worry about an atrocity he'd be asked to do or what punishments he'd face for lack of loyalty or obedience, he's made a home on earth. it makes me emotional and so happy that his arc goes that way.

And, frankly, his eyeshadow game is the best in the entire sci-fi genre. Tell me your secrets Teal'c.

Hm. Well, about half of these are word-pictures, and support my idea that I struggle to write where I can't work out what the weather is like. I don't think there's much pattern to the rest, but looking at these, I am thinking: blimey it's been a long time since I actually finished something and posted it. I live in a world of half-completed drafts now, it seems.

Still grinning, Jake leaned back in his seat, arching an eyebrow at his friend. “So, what’s next for you then?” That was the million dollar question. Piers would’ve loved to have the answer to it himself. “I don’t know,” he admitted with an awkward little grimace. “I never really planned much further than this.” He’d been so focused on healing, on his physical therapy, on learning the skills he’d lost together with his arm… there’d been no room for anything else, really. Now he needed to find something else to set his mind to. Jake pursed his lips thoughtfully, tilting his head a little. “You still play bass?” Surprised, Piers frowned at him. “Yeah. Why?” Instead of answering the question, Jake asked another. “Do you know RPD?” “Raccoon City police department?” Piers hazarded, slowly, not really following. At all.

We got a subscription to national theatre at home for a month so watched like 8-10 plays favourites include Much Ado about Nothing, Leopoldstadt, All My Sons, Taste of Honey. We've watched like 50 new films to us already this year and countless TV as well so will just pick a few TV ones we really liked:

Mayflies, Atlantic Crossing, Succession, Magpie Murders, Sixth Commandment, I Claudius, The Long Shadow, Ghosts, The Forsyte Saga.

currently reading: Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh. We also just finished 1984.

currently listening to: Nothing specific. Oh we have been listening to the Ghosts podcasts, really make us laugh.

currently working on: Halloween fics.

current obsession/s: Always Anthony Valentine. Found his Call My Bluff eps (well two) and we're just watching those happily swooning.

Natsu, oh my GOSH it’s Natsu!

People have been mischaracterizing my boy for years, mostly about his intelligence and innocence.

Yes, he’s simple-minded. No, he’s not too dumb to live. And yes, he knows what sex is, just because he’s made comments that he thinks babies are hatched from eggs doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how sex and attraction works. Why else would he act that way around Lucy if he wasn’t attracted to her???

🧡 What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?

All the theories are over now that the manga ended, and I stopped frequenting the fandom to know if there’s any for 100YQ

So a lot of things i disagree with are just general HC stuff

💛 What is a popular ship you just can’t get behind and why?

Man I’m still salty about Zer.vis. I used to like them a lot and then Zeref just ended up being unlikable to me. And he acted like a dick to Mavis like dude that’s supposed to be your love interest???

It’s just so toxic

💚 What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

Thankfully people have stopped saying Lucy is useless. There are the occasional haters and trolls, but for the most part they’ve backed off

Regardless though, I still think people underestimate her. Or they want her to react to things differently than what is in character for her. Like fanfic writers of old want her to leave the guild to get stronger when that’s OOC. Or they want Lucy to tell Natsu off for leaving the guild post Tartarus. Yes, she had a right to have been hurt and they should have had a heart-to-heart, but the fandom was asking for too much of Natsu who was also going through some shit, and that didn’t sit right with me

💜 Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?

The great thing about FT is that 90% of the characters are hot lmaooo

To pick someone, I think people sleep on Jura. Objectively i think he’s quite handsome, I mean, look at him pre-timeskip lol
