It’s 1991, and I’m sitting in my college lecture with my wire bloom in hand, fidgeting it into different shapes. Life is simple.
Throwback to this 90’s knick knack, a convertible 3D sphere that can transform into dozens of fun and useful shapes. Simply enjoy it as a bracelet, hair accessory, ornament (popular), or stim toy.

Betcha didn't know these trinkets once were treasures. A once popular toy enjoyed by those born in the 1900's, survived the test of time as a toy for fidgeting, ornamental piece, and fashion accessory.
It's difficult to find 100% handmade versions of these quirky multi-functional toys in 2023. Luckily, I've spent the last half decade crafting these to keep this traditional handmade piece alive. Nothing beats handmade in my opinion!
I craft these in 100's of colours (including custom requests), and my reviews showcase how customers have discovered uses for this in their own personal way.

I haven’t posted in a long time, and ik this is the type of post that most people will scroll past and that’s ok! This is for myself! But if anyone else out there is going through something similar, then I also want to try and leave behind this diary for them, too.
I think I’ve developed a phobia surrounding school. Or maybe it’s always been there, it’s lingered and gathered and I’ve never let myself look it in the eye. It’s only been my shadow, and now I’m wrapped tight with it’s tendrils.
I went mute in an online class the other day. I’ve felt myself trying to give up on dreams I’ve never given up on before. So I don’t know if something has changed. I’ve wanted to switch meds but realized that I can’t just treat myself the way I used to be treated- I can’t fall back on my past anymore.
I’m going to do everything I can to heal and get through this, and I think that keeping a little diary will help me. I don’t want to be accountable to anyone but myself. I’m gonna call it ummmm. Ok we’re gonna do an arbitrary number of days. 111 days because that’s a fun mystical number.
111 days of doing my absolute best
Things I’ve already done:
a surprising amount, now that I list it all
read through the relevant chapters of The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook, 5th edition, by Edmund J. Bourne, PhD
^^^(google this title + pdf, you can find it for free! Dm me if you’d like a dropbox link, I’m not gonna post it just in case but I’d love to share!)
purchased myself a few fidget toys, something I’ve never indulged in before! These ones are specifically for people with skin excoriation/trichotillomania:
started trying to make my own affirmation cards
started imagery desensitization therapy (as outlined in the anxiety workbook)
i’ve experimented somewhat with EMDR, and will likely continue using it on and off
reached out to some close friends as a support network, let them know some of my needs that they can help with/asked for their help
learned some interesting stuff about how horror movies might help with anxiety:
https://www.psycom.net/scary-movies-anxiety
some more stuff probably lol I’ll update again tomorrow wheeee bye!

Tad and AJ, do you know anyone who sells inexpensive stim toys and jewelry like Stimtastic?
AJ: This post got to be VERY long, so it's going under a cut and it's organized with the following headers: chew jewelry, spinner rings / pendants, and other (misc jewelry that doesnt really fit a category).
I only know of specialty shops for chew jewelry, so I focused on that a bit. For others the main sources are Amazon and Etsy, because stuff like spinner pendants meant for fidgeting really only come handmade. I'm not sure how many of the Etsy stores ship outside of the US/what shipping costs would look like internationally.
Chew Jewelry
I know ARK Therapeutic is pretty reputable; their stuff can be a little pricey but they are a company that specializes in sensory needs and improving motor skills.
Munchables is another brand that specializes in sensory needs, and their stuff seems to be a little cheaper than ARK's. They even have a clearance section on their site! If you order from their site, they only ship to the US and Canada, but they are also on Amazon. You can order through Amazon for international shipping I believe? But the prices do seem a bit more expensive on Amazon than on their site.
I think the cheapest deals are, I hate to say it, on Amazon. Be careful when searching and always check the brand's homepage to see what other kinds of products their online store carries. Here are some shops I found that appear to sell primarily chews.
Atsky
Maberry Tech Direct
GNAWRISHING (couldn't find a brand homepage for them, but most of the products that come up when you search Gnawrishing are chew jewelry)
Buying from ARK or Munchables means you probably get more detailed information, like how tough the silicone is depending on how aggressive of a chewer you are. Buying from Amazon or Etsy shops means less detailed information. It probably doesn't matter if you're a lighter chewer though, because extra tough silicone chews are probably more niche.
Here are some Etsy stores that make beaded necklaces if you want something more modern, unique, or just to support a small business.
necklactic (they have pride themed options!)
StimmyShakeShop (more pride options and some kpop and adventure time themed necklaces)
ChewsMe (TONS of options, including supplies for building your own! very cheap as well)
Lo & Co Studios (more modern / discreet stuff. Aimed at parents of teething babies but let's be real. It's stim jewelry. Also a little pricey)
Spinner Rings / Pendants
Amazon:
nylry/Umlry (again no homepage. These rings are very cheap, but also very loud according to reviews. I think this ring is particularly interesting)
Jystyle Jewelry (seems to have better reviews, also way easier to navigate and find options. Not much more expensive than nylry)
Etsy:
neurodelightful (has some pendants, a lot of mobii fidgets and some other fidgety things too! pride options available, also seems to support #RedInstead, which is good!)
CraftsByAnnaLee (lots of options for spinner pendants)
Other
Amazon:
This necklace which seems to function similar to a tangle
Spiral hair ties (can be worn as bracelet) (pretty cheap, comes in some neutral colors. Couldn't find any that are definitely safe for chewing, unfortunately.)
Spiral necklace (made for chewing) (same thing as above but safe for chewing. Unfortunately only comes in neon primary colors. Seems kind of expensive but it is a 4 pack)
Zipper braclets (these bracelets are 7.5 inches in length. I measured my wrist and that would technically fit my wrist with a little room to spare. May not fit if you have large wrists, but they do advertise that you can connect multiple zipper bracelets together. Also, their store seems to sell stretchy fidgets too, and is promoing some halloween based fidgets right now!)
A bike chain bracelet (probably heavy, probably good if you like weighted things)
Etsy:
This interesting fidget bracelet by MerakiSphere (kind of expensive but I haven't been able to find anything similar)
MinniMaggie (store that sells cuffs with flip sequins and other sensory effects, including this interesting fabric picking one which could be good for people with trichotillomania or dermatillomania.)

Someone told me that fidget toys would never succeed long-term. I guess it kinda makes sense that the target audience for fidget spinners lost interest in them so quickly... as these 3D wire mandalas shared the same fate back in the early 90's.
❗️Giving Away this Fidget Bloom to one random commenter/reblogger! Winner chosen on Sunday! PS: What should I name this funky pink colour? Suggestions welcomed!
However, this is different now cuz it can do more than just fidgeting. My handmade fidget blooms are great for wearing as a bracelet, hair bun cage, fairy trap, ornamental piece, desk toy, and more. Multi-functional for everyday use.
New silver styles are available on my shop thanks to endless requests for silver! Just search Meraki Sphere on Etsy, or visit this link:

Every small business wants you to know this hack! Starting a small shop is all about finding good materials and infusing it with every ounce of creativity and passion in your soul to create something truly wonderful.
Take for example this simple use of wire and beads, to create my own version of these Folding Galaxy fidget toys; devices that can be worn as a bracelet, used as a hair accessory, displayed as an ornament and enjoyed as a fidget toy.
Thank you for taking the time for browsing my handmade pieces. I hope it brings a smile to your face, everyday.

She really enjoyed it too! Said it was used as a hair piece, ornament, and what kids these days refer to it as, "fidget toys"...👵🏼 Stored it away in her dresser to one day show her grandchildren.
A hundred years later, these have finally found their moment in the world! All my handmade wire mandalas are available on Etsy:

Other 3D mandala makers hate me despise me for sharing this, but I see my craft as more than just the finished product. The process, and attention to detail are just as important in order to appreciate the beauty of this piece and all of its parts.
You’ll notice that although this seems like a very intricate bracelet, I do not use any fancy tools or techniques to assemble it all together. The simplicity of its assembly contrasts the complexity of its design, which is...actually quite poetic.
Please consider browsing my Etsy Shop as I recently put in a lot of work to enhance my shop so that it is more organized, and easier to browse or customize your own personalized Fidget Bloom:
Quick Q&A: Do you ship worldwide? Yes What happens if my bracelet doesn’t fit? I will exchange it at no extra cost. What is the material? Tarnish resistant brass. I also use electroplated brass. Do you have any promotions? Yes, weekly sales, and discounts based on order size. How long does it take to make? Approximately 45 minutes. (from scratch) Got more questions? Ask me in the comments. :)
