LMK OC COMPETITION - ROUND 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jade belongs to @demonichunny
Ming Yue belongs to @crimson-cring-art
Learn more about them below the cut!!
Jade:
Jade is a monkey demon who was made by villagers in the image of the great Monkey King to be a protector. However, the leaders of her village weren't the nicest to women and they made it a daily thing to yell at her for every thing she did wrong. She has great strength and agility, but no other amazing powers outside of a long life.
She did eventually meet Sun Wukong and fell for his adorable cheeky side. However, his antics also got her more into trouble with her village leaders whenever he would pass through with the Great Monk. One faithful night, a demon tricked her into a trap so that it could attack the village. It was killed in the end, but this last slip up ended up with Jade sealed away in a temple and abandoned for centuries.
It wasn't until one day a boy named MK accidently destroyed her seal in a battle and freed her. Now he helps her with adjusting to the world while keeping Wukong at arms length because she kind of blames him for her getting in trouble all the time in the past.
Ming Yue:
She is a grey monkey who can transform into a celestial wolf.

Say hello, to Ming Yue. Little fact about her is the choker holds her power to become a celestial wolf and it was passed down by her mother who may or may not lived on the moon.

Since i finished Peerless a few months ago i decided the only logical thing to do is draw every other character
unfortunately the quality isn't going to be good because apparently the image file is too big so i'm adding a lot of cropped/zoomed in
edit: i know i spelt Pei Jingzhe's name incorrectly it is 2 am💀

Like okay it actually makes me SO sad that Chu Kong loved his brother so much that in order to mitigate conflict everywhere by being with Cang Hai, he was willing to give up everything, including his name and title as the second prince of the Qilin clan since her identity couldn't be changed and WHAT does he get in return???
His beloved brother framing his wife, manipulating and essentially killing his sister-in-law, which then led to the events of his wife choosing to jump into the In-Between to save his life AND THEN his brother wiping his memories of the entire thing, taking over and lying to everyone in the six realms about what happened and then leaving Chu Kong clueless for THIRTY THOUSAND YEARS.
I AM SO DONE WITH THIS ASSHOLE.
I mean like I relate to Chu Kong a lot pre-memory wipe, and I just adore his character in general. Chu Kong tried his dang hardest to do what was best for everyone at his own detriment at EVERY turn, and THIS is the thanks he gets?????
Truly, I hate this man. Just about as much as I hate Ye Bingchang/Tian Huan from TTEOTM. Which is saying a lot.

Sleepless nights
@irathgo @smellofsnoww @luna-rein
*************
A soft nudge woke him up from his short slumber. Wen Jin looked to the side to see who it was.
He gave the girl next to him a drowsy confused expression but she only pointed in front of him to their professor.
The woman had an annoyed look on her face as she stared at the young man.
Wen Jin quickly gathered himself and tried to wake up, sitting up on his chair.
"Is my class boring you?" The professor asked impatiently.
Wen Jin shook his head and quickly rubbed his eyes. "No Madam, I'm sorry about that."
He didn't even notice himself dozing off, if only he could do the same tonight.
How long has it been since he's actually gotten a good night's sleep?
The professor walked back to the front of the class to continue her lesson. Wen Jin tried to pay attention but had to bring himself back from the brink of slumber multiple times and to be honest he couldn't understand a thing she was saying. It was a little jumbled and he lost track of the lessons flow a while ago.
He looked down at his notes and it looked like an ant dipped its legs in ink and scattered around his white pages.
The lecture was over not long after. He yawned as he got ready to head to the next one. He had two more before he could drive home.
*******
He exited his last class and didn't really understand a single thing in either classes. He was barely awake for any of them to be honest.
He checked if he had everything, he gave up not really caring if it's important he wouldn't forget it. He began to walk.
Wen Jin reached the building's door. Reaching into his pocket to take his phone out so he could play some musi….. he reached inside, feeling his heart sink when he realized his pockets were empty.
He removed what he had inside, a charger, his airpods, his wallet, some candy, receipts and other useless trash but none where his phone.
He turned his pockets inside out. He cursed as he put his bag down. His search there came up empty.
He felt an uncontrollable anger as he kept coming up with nothing.
'Where the fuck is it?' he growled.
He kept searching, ignoring the person that kept calling out to him. Whatever they needed he would deal with them later. The person kept calling, only adding to his frustration. Then they got closer and tapped his shoulder.
"WHAT!?!?"Wen Jin yelled, finally turning to the person.
The person flinched back, their expression slightly terrified. They distanced themselves just staring at him for a second.
"Well?" He snapped again.
They shook themselves back though still shaken. Then they quickly reached in their dress pockets.
"You… you left your phone in class," they answered, reaching out to retrieve Wen Jin's phone and handing it to him.
He blinked down at the phone then at them, his anger disappearing and turning into embarrassment and guilt. He looked around and noticed a few stares.
He looked back at his classmate, they weren't close and to be honest Wen Jin barely knew who they were aside from their name. Franky maybe. They wore a long black skirt, with a matching black crop and hat. A few piercings on their lip and nose and brown dreads with gold jewelry decorating it.
"Oh …. I'm sorry." He said reaching to get his phone, "thank you, I'm sorry I yelled." He said again.
"Franky …. Right?" He asked, putting the phone back and rubbing at his eyes slightly.
"Yeah," they nodded.
Then they didn't say anything just looking at the guy with some concern, "You need to get some sleep man, you look terrible."
Wen Jin couldn't say anything before Franky got called by some friends and they left him.
Wen Jin sighed, he looked down at the phone for a second. Just staring at his black screen. How long has it been since he actually got to sleep? It's Friday, so a week or so. It's close to the day he was taken and it's messing with him.
It didn't last long before a phone call snapped him out of it. It startled him back to reality. He quickly answered.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Finally you answered," Lian said from the other end.
"You ….you've been trying to call?" He asked, a little surprised.
"Yes, Ming Yue wants to know if you're coming or not," she reminded him.
Wen Jin rubbed his eyes, he forgot he told her that himself.
"Yes I'm sorry…. I'm sorry, I'll be right there. I'm done for the day," he said then cut the line.
******
Wen Jin got to Lian's house, barely in one piece. He parked the bike then went up to her house.
Lian answered the door for him,she just picked Ming Yue up from school. He would spend the weekend with her while Lian attended some work seminar. Usually Ming Yue would go live with her father but he's not in town until Sunday. Wen Jin jumped on the chance when he heard.
He greeted her and she let him in.
She didn't say anything but kept her eye on him.
"Where's Ming Yue?"
Lian pointed in the direction of the young girl's room. He nodded then entered.
"Is something wrong?" He asked, noticing her gaze as he sat down.
"You don't look too well." She pointed out, looking at his slight pale complexion and dark under bags.
"It's alright don't worry about it." He brushed it off as he sat down.
"How can I not worry, you look like a corpse." She raised, sitting down next to him.
She looked like she was examining him, the attention made him shift back a little.
"Just had a tough week." He told her.
Lian frowned, not really believing that excuse. He looked away.
"Are you sure everything is fi…"
"Just stop," he said Barely audible.
Lian was taken aback and just blinked a little surprised at his words, then she stood up.
"I'm sorry I didn't realize I was overstepping,"
He looked at her, the worried look on her face. The face he missed so much when he was little.
"You always are, you're always putting yourself in things. In my life, in my problems." How is he supposed to move on if he knows that he can't ever have his life back.
"I didn't realize,"
He looked up at her. Memories flashing back of when he was younger and he would run to her.
"No… no you don't understand."he snapped.
Lian couldn't say anything and just looked at him, a mixture of confusion, worry and maybe guilt as he began to cry.
She just listened as he continued. She doesn't understand how any of it is connected to her but he needs to let it out.
"You weren't there when it mattered, you weren't there when I cried and you weren't there when I was scared, you weren't there when I was alone and needed you to hold me."
What is he doing? Why is he yelling at his mother like she had any way of knowing where he was? Who is he angry with? Why is he angry? He stopped himself and turned away wiping the tears that fell without him realizing.
Lian took a few steps closer. She raised her hand to comfort him but was hesitant and stepped back.
"I…I don't understand," she said. Something in her heart felt like this was important.
Wen Jin didn't turn to look at her.
"You can't understand," he said as he stopped himself from crying, "cause it's too late,"
He looked to the side and Ming Yue was staring at him and their mother with a terrified expression. She's never seen him cry and now that he looked he made Lian tear up a little.
He looked away from the both of them and grabbed his keys then headed for the door.
"I need time to think," he told her as he stormed off.
She ran after him, holding her hand out for Ming Yue to stay put.
"Wen Jin!" She called out.
He didn't listen and just put his helmet on and started his bike.
"Wen Jin! Come back." She called again and he just started then rode off.
She was lost on what to do and tried to call Milo. She told him what happened and he said he would talk to him when gets home.
***********
Two hours later Milo called Lian again. She was hoping it was new that he had a talk with the boy. But her stomach dropped when Milo spoke.
"I can't find Wen Jin."
She stood up suddenly, he's been gone for too long. He wasn't even in any state to be out on his own. Let alone on his bike.
"I'll help find him," she told Milo, immediately grabbing her keys.
She signed to Ming Yue telling the little girl to stay put while she goes looking for Wen Jin. They were both pretty worried about him already.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Milo told her, sounding terrified.
"It's okay, I'm sure he'll be fine, just stay calm until we find him," She reassured.
"He won't answer his phone," Milo said again
"Alright, I'll try and look for him with you," Lian left the house and got her car out of the garage. She'll ask a neighbor to watch Ming Yue.
********
She didn't drive far before she saw police cars and people gathered around.
Her stomach dropped but she slowly stopped the car and went over.
Though there wasn't a lot of light left, she could see the blood on the pavement. The bike, that was his bike.
"What happened?" She asked, not meaning to raise her voice.
One of the officers there looked over to Lian.
"Calm down ma'am," the officer said as she walked over to Lian.
"Where's the boy?" She asked as she looked around. No one answered her. "Where is he?!" She asked again.
"He's been taken to the hospital," she told Lian.
But the older woman still felt terrified.
"I'm going to need to ask you some questions." The officer said.
Lian looked over at the officer then nodded. Firstly she did confirm that it was Wen Jin's bike and it was no one's fault. Wen Jin just lost control of his bike and crashed on the side. Someone saw this and called an ambulance for him. Lian got the name of the place he was taken to and drove away.
She then phoned Milo who began heading to the hospital immediately.
