FINALLY drew @stonesparrow’s Carmine!! I love her and this AU so very much… ;—;
I’m not redrawing Kurodora because my initial vision turned out to be close enough to the real deal and I’m lazy. x)

Note: the hair looks weird because I drew Carmine first and didn’t color pick for anything, but I did color pick from the anime for Yuzuriha’s school uniform sooooo...yeah inconsistency :P Just pretend like it’s the same shade of brown.

Originally this was gonna feature Civilian Form Yuzuriha alongside Carmine but I got impatient.
Anyway presenting Season 1 Carmine! Her outfit won’t start changing until Season 2, but by the end of Season 5 it’ll look pretty different to reflect her character development and partnership with Kurodora (I have plans for them to gradually take on elements of each others’ costumes).

Hello author!!! Just finished episode 1 of your (not Major League Baseball) MLB au!!!! I love the way you portray the trio defending Kohaku!! Also typical Senku still fighting with his slightly fracture ribs, that's my boy!! i do have a question, it seems that the students are familiar with the concept of the superheroes because of the East Asian Hero Association, what sort of heroes does the association have? Is it like the ones that are born gifted like let's say Majestia from the New York special? What's the purpose of their job? Will one of the heroes from the Association meet carmine and kurodora? Sorry i know this is a lot but I'm just really curious about the world building !!!!
Hey, thanks for reading! If you go back to take a look at Origins, you’ll notice that when the trio walk into the classroom Chrome and Kohaku are discussing their favorite heroes - Chrome’s is Geocacher, from America, while Kohaku’s is Lady Fantastic (whose nationality isn’t mentioned, but she’s from the UK). Amaryllis also mentions hers, a Belgian hero named Roseheart. These were mostly namedropped for the sake of establishing that this world already knows heroes and is sort of on par with DC or Marvel, but Geocacher is a canon character from Dr. Stone that may appear in later MTCK content (Yuzuriha mentions her superpower, which is a big hint to her real identity).
Later on in Origins, when Senku spots the transformed Lioness, he hypothesizes that she might be a mutant or have used a super serum. Mutants are well documented in this universe, and some are active in the public eye as heroes. Other types of heroes (and villains) worldwide draw their powers from magic or science, though Senku will remind you that the “proper” term is mystiokinetics (as he says to Taiju in episode 1 in the lunchroom scene). Senku also mentions a type of mind control magic in the classroom scene in Episode 1 - when he talks about a “German villain with a flute” I specifically based that off of the Pied Piper, which is a German legend.
As for the East Asian Hero Association (EAHA), the only real notes I have on them right now is that they’re headquartered in Malaysia and are in contact with other hero organizations worldwide, such as the European Hero Coalition. Despite being a rather large city, Tokyo hasn’t seen a lot of hero or villain activity in about a generation, so they mostly know about heroes from stories and news in other parts of Japan.
No apology needed, I really like talking about my writing :) though MTCK is less about worldbuilding and more about character and plot planning for me, as I’ve found out. I do take the time to flesh out the world as I go along so that it feels like a complete story though.

Your MLB AU (not Major League Baseball) snippet...ok now that You Know that I Know who sphinx moth is.... I gotta ask, does he get to go to school, or is he busy with his job while also traumatizing teenagers in the process? I just thought that it would be funny if he's just strolling around Yuzuriha's and Senku's school lol (also one of my guessed was right holy smokes)
Answer under the cut for (mild?) spoilers and Bird’s writing thought process:
Tsukasa being 18 in 2019 is a bit of a pickle for me, since his birthday is in October. The Japanese school year ends in March, while Dr. Stone’s petrification happens in June of 2019, when Senku and company are starting their first year of high school at age 15. This means that if Tsukasa was petrified at age 18, he most likely just graduated high school (which given one shot in the anime, he did attend, since Taiju unknowingly passes him in his uniform). He probably doesn’t go to Senku’s school though.
However, I kind of like the thought that in Season 1 of MTCK, Tsukasa is still 17 and his 18th birthday will be in October of 2019, because him also being bound by the “use once and then have to recharge” rule that the others are for at least a few months since he’s still a minor is funny to me and outlines how he’s also still a kid in some ways. That said, it might cause me more problems in the long run since I’m not sure how the five minute rule would work for akumas - Lioness was def on the rampage for at least half an hour.
Either way though, I think Tsukasa would feel obligated to let Nooroo rest for a little bit between akumatizations just because he’s still not entirely sure how kwamis work, isn’t as much of an ass as Gabriel, and is still a bit busy with wrestling matches. College doesn’t seem like it’d be a huge priority for him since he needs to keep earning money for...reasons, but given how meticulous Tsukasa is with his planning (though not nearly as meticulous as Senku), I can see him shooting for a degree so he can keep providing for himself after he gets too old to be a wrestler.
Also I’m glad you’re excited about the low key reveal lol, I thought I’d already given myself away completely just by the name honestly. Sphinx Moth (another name for hawk moths), ie Sphinx, ie Lion, ie Shishio, ya know?

This season is titled Learning the Ropes, since it deals with Carmine and Kurodora figuring out all this superhero business and getting used to everything. Episode 1′s summary is as follows:
Two days after Tokyo’s new superheroes burst onto the scene, Yuzuriha has to contend with the suspicion and doubts of her classmates about what really happened that day. With tensions high and accusations amok, someone’s bound to snap...

MTCK: S1E1 Sneak Peek
If you’ve forgotten, this somewhat strange acronym stands for Miraculous: Tales of Carmine and Kurodora, my Dr. Stone x Miraculous Ladybug AU. I’ve been working on and off on Episode 1: Sentinel, with it being at a lesser priorty than my other projects at the moment (been really struggling with chapter 7 of When the Lions Were Late, honestly). But here’s a snippet from what I’ve been working on!
The door to the atelier creaked open, and Nooroo squeaked in fear. He quickly ducked behind a potted plant as the young man entered the room, the purple Miraculous resting in the center of his shirt. White butterflies were stirred up from their resting spots all over the studio, and the young man scanned the space with a piercing gaze.
“Nooroo, please don’t hide from me.”
Nooroo swallowed nervously and flew out from behind the plant.
The young man glanced at the untouched plate of fruit and crackers sitting next to a blanket-lined basket in the corner. “You still haven’t eaten.” His deep voice rumbled with disappointment.
“I’m…I’m not hungry,” mumbled Nooroo, glancing away. The young man walked up and held out his hand, but Nooroo didn’t perch on it.
“It’s been two days Nooroo, I wish to try again.
“Why-why did you do that to that poor girl?!” Nooroo asked, shaking with anguish. “My powers…my powers aren’t meant for destruction!”
“I can understand why you might be confused,” the young man said. “But rest assured, I was not reckless.” He walked over to the window and gazed out across Tokyo.
“This world is filled with a dark corruption, Nooroo. Businessmen who treat their workers like disposable slaves. Politicians who steal money from starving children. Men who treat women’s bodies like property.”
He turned to the kwami with a fire in his eyes. “Miss Hoseki was burning with the spirit of justice in her heart, a desire to punish those who wronged her. With your power, I liberated her, gave her the strength to fight against the chains of society.”
He walked over to the plate of food. “Sacrifices must be made in order to cleanse the world of such evils.” Picking up a strawberry, he held it up to Nooroo. “That is why I need your help. Lend me your power again, Nooroo, and we will free the purest of humanity from this darkness we suffer in.”
“I won’t-I won’t do it!” Nooroo cried, shaking his head wildly. “It’s too dangerous, too destructive!”
The young man sighed. “Very well. I am sorry, but you leave me no choice. Nooroo, I command you to eat and regain your strength.”
Nooroo’s eyes widened. “I-“
The man gestured to the brooch on his chest. “As long as I have your Miraculous, you must obey my orders, correct?”
Nooroo stared at him. Then, the kwami flew over to his hand and took the berry, nibbling it with a despondent expression.
The young man nodded. “Good.”

For your mlb au, will people outside of Yuzuriha's classmates get a miraculous? Curious if your going to do the same as in the show, also who's gonna meet the guardian first? Kurodora or Carmine?
Ooh good questions! At the bottom of my planning document, I have a list of all the Miraculous that will make an appearance in the fanfic series, plus their Holders and their hero names (some of them took longer to come up with than others). I stuck to canon characters for the Holders (which means yes some of them won't be in Yuzuriha's class since they're different ages), but there will also be original characters for the akumatized villains.
A lot of the "episodes" I have planned out are Bird Originals, but a handful of them are homages to episodes in mlb - the titles of a couple of the Season 1 episodes are a strong hint. So MTCK (Miraculous: Tales of Carmine and Kurodora) won't perfectly follow the show's plot, but it will retain a lot of familiar elements.
As for the guardian, that's a spoiler, but the circumstances surrounding the meeting will be similar (though not identical!) to mlb canon :)
Thanks for the ask!
