"Where's the smile? They're going to think I'm holding you hostage, honey~." Saeyoung giggles, gently nudging you.

"This wasn't what I had in mind when you said you wanted to go out for Valentine's Day." You gasped, fingers gripping the rail so hard your knuckles turned white. "This is the worst date I've ever been on."

"The worst?" Saeyoung cries. He sniffs, you can tell it's fake though.

"The. Worst." You spit through your teeth. "You know I'm scared of heights."

"You're scared of heights!?" He asks. "W- I didn't know this! You never mentioned it to me!"

"I'm pretty sure I have..." You close your eyes as your bucket on the ferris wheel starts to descend.

Once you were safely back on the ground, you punched his shoulder. He yelped and rubbed his arm.

"This is better, aein." Saeyoung kissed the top on your head.

To make up from his lapse in judgement, he got your favorite take out and you watched your favorite movies. Now you laid on the couch, curled against Saeyoung's chest. You roll over, wanting to face him.

"You're so pretty." He smiled, kissing your nose. He tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear.

"No need to keep sucking up," you laugh. "You've already made it up to me."

"I'm not sucking up, man." Saeyoung's eyebrows furrowed. "I'm just complimenting my amazing, sweet partner."

You hummed back, not entirely believing him. He rolled his eyes a little before kissing your lips softly.

Saeyoung was a gifted jokester, but with you, he tried to be more serious when in moments like this... No matter how how hard it was to keep certain jokes back.

Though... When you kissed him back, those jokes drifted off into space. When your fingers ran through his hair, his mind only filled with thoughts of you.

And just like that... He was on the international space station.

Okok I don't mean this as hate I'm just curious what demoncest game is Canon in the games (minus asmo's flirting/comments he makes to the bros!!) (Again I don't mean this as hate I guess I just never picked up on it +super behind in both games) (sorry for the long ask-/g

you're good, but i do want to point something out in your ask because i've seen it other places too – asmo's behavior is definitely incestuous lol. he's a member of the family flirting with other members of the family, and this is largely just seen as a cute-if-slightly-annoying quirk of his (which i add for the asmo-hating "the brothers hate it and think it's gross when he does that!!" crowd). anyway, just off the top of my head:

asmo is archetypically written as a brocon for lucifer. the main point of the "jewel of the heavens" story was to establish this, especially when simeon later accidentally lightly roasts asmo for making it his entire personality. like, the point of it is asmo is obsessed with being beautiful because that's how he can see himself as being useful to lucifer, to earn more of his love and attention.

lucifer's "punishments" for mammon are heavily implied to be sexual. during the retreat, when diavolo helps lucifer punish him literally all night long, mc and levi are (semi) joking about what the three of them must have been doing, and it's so graphic that simeon covers luke's ears.

also, can't forget mc is canonically the brothers' great-niece or -nephew. i know they tried to do some retcon on that one but come on now.

this one's kind of a meta thing but i feel like it counts so i'm adding it. one of the primary artists for cards of the twins is a career yaoi artist

but also just the twins in general. like. you are absolutely supposed to read them as shoujo twincest twins. i feel stupid even trying to argue this one because it's so obvious. if you tell belphie in season one that you have feelings for beel your intimacy with BELPHIE goes up. belphie describes his ideal life after running away as "belphie, beel and mc live happily ever after." they share a room. they have telepathy. i mean please.

satan and lucifer have this very fucked mutualistic oedipal thing going on. it doesn't come up often but it is weird as shit every time and i love it. every time lucifer reminds satan that he is technically his mother he says it in the same teasing/smug way he usually uses to flirt, and satan responds with embarrassment/blushing. "in your case, even more?" "why don't you just say 'lucifer, i need affection?'" etc

in one of the early early events i think p&c but i don't remember we get the iconic knowledge that leviathan finds humiliation "titillating!" which was in response to belphie insulting him that is what turned him on

belphie and satan's hatred of diavolo and psychosexual obsession with lucifer that are very much connected because talking about how much lucifer sucks and they hate him INCREDIBLY quickly devolved into "he's so obsessed with diavolo. i hate how he's with diavolo all the time. they're probably having sex. lucifer probably lets diavolo do anything he wants to him" like are you guys ok

well you (the pollrunner) already know cause hes ur icon but i will say that at least he is meant to suck as a romantic partner with only one ending (two if you include astronaut) having him and sol (the player character) staying together on the other end tho there's three ways to start dating him one is to make him go to therapy n then start dating after he is no longer abusing his girlfriend (either breaking them up by convincing him to dump nemmie or convincing nemmie that hes the scumbag he is n she deserves better) another is to be his side piece and the third way is getting him so mad he drags sol off by the neck to beat the shit out of them with this event ending with either him n sol sleeping together (also causing him and nemmie to break up) sol getting the living daylights beat out of them (to the point they got knocked out n needed medical care) with the implicit threat of vace will do this again if they dont stay out of his way and sol avoiding both of those things but being so shaken by the experience that theyre struggling to breath until theyre outside and fully away from him which gives a very different undertone to hooking up with him in this event

Bro got overshadowed and is hardly there for his own damn route lmao

Instead of getting therapy to cope with the guilt of mistreating his deaf mother who died for him, he got into a romance with an infatuated fan of his work, proposing to her within months as she became increasingly more unstable to the point of starting a cult. Additionally, he smuggles a pair of endangered twin boys from their abusive household into a shady overseas agency while his cult-creating girlfriend took the other. He does not call the cops on her. He does not talk to his rich best friend about better options for the twins. He instead lies to everyone and says his gf committed suicide which allows her cult to grow and she brainwashes several people. He knows about every bullshit thing going on in the background and he chooses to say/do nothing. He just mopes, says sorry (without changing anything) and keeps making a martyr of himself with persistently bad decisions while keeping everyone in the dark, despite the danger it causes. Bonus: his own route was so bad, he barely spent time conscious with the MC and then eventually fucks off to 'find himself' or some shit, leaving one twin to commit suicide. His after end took so long because the writers had to amend these actions so he could at least take responsibility for one thing (saving the Fandom woobie). He does not actually interact with the MC until damn near the end point and then there is a timeskip where they adopt a kid. 

Has just gotten out of shitty prev relationship, needs a therapist not a gf.

he lies to you from the moment he meets you (just like he's lying to most people you meet in the game who are also his loved ones) about a lot of things including what happened to his ex (whose suffering can be at least partially attributed to him). also i just hate him.

I always like to think that Saeyoung is in love with the player and not so much MC. What do you think? Like in the ssum when you get his achievement thing it says he tried to hack in the shape of a heart and it felt like he was communicating to us as the player.

I'm wary of Reset Theory in general due to the stress and shame that it can cause players who just want to enjoy the game. That has a lot of overlap with the character sentience or awareness theories since it bleeds into the same category. For some people, it's a comfort to see the idea that their favorite character loves them no matter what! With that notion in mind, it's a cute idea! It's nice to have a reminder that it isn't the default MC they're in love with.

I mean, that's a given though, the MC is a placeholder for you. The MC looks like a basic nondescript person with features that don't do much to stand out. Most MCs are faceless, have brown hair, and are generally short to average in build. Personally, I wish the game would let us choose from the default MC icons for the game since we've got a few of them, and only the brunette MC is shown. That's more work on their part but it would be a nice touch to help inclusivity. But, a lot of games don't do that.

They pick what they think is a standard fem-presenting person and use that to give you a base to put yourself into it. They're there so the game is capable of making art for you to put yourself into. You're not supposed to feel like they love the MC more than you. MC isn't really a person... just a shell. The MC is there for the convenience of art and other such needs in the game.

That's why MC doesn't have an emoji reaction and why MC doesn't have a character sprite like everyone else does. You're supposed to be there by being yourself on this side of the phone. It's meant to be like you're standing in the room or holding your phone to do a chatroom with them. Those things are meant to be seen in first-person! You're there! You are the character sprite for you.

Hope that helps anyone who feels insecure. You don't have to look like the MC. You don't need light skin, brown hair, and a slim build to be loved. You don't have to use she/her pronouns. You don't have to be a certain way to be loved by the RFA. You are loved as you are, and that's that. MC is just a placeholder for you to use. That's really all the MC is.

So, yeah, Saeyoung is in love with you if you love him. Zen is in love with you if you love him. Yoosung is in love with you if you love him. Jaehee is in love with you if you love her. Jumin is in love with you if you love him. Saeran is in love with you if you love him. V is in love with you if you love him. Hell, even Rika and Vanderwood are in love with you if you love them. This isn't that complicated.

As far as character sentience goes,, I don't mind that when you're doing it to feel better. I love that idea! But please don't spread talk to people where it's like "Saeyoung is the true and only route because he loves us in every route!" or "Saeyoung will remember if you don't pick him, so pick him!" or "You're hurting Saeyoung by doing all these bad endings!" or etc. You get what I'm saying, right? It hasn't been a huge issue in a while now but it was a problem years ago.

Guilting people or shaming people for playing the game "wrong". So, I don't mind the comfort this theory brings to people. But, what I do mind is if people shame others or make them feel paranoid or upset if they delete the game or don't play it the way that someone else does. All and all, respect others, play how you want to play, and make sure you engage with media discussion in a positive and respectful way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only true route in Mystic Messenger is the route you choose for yourself. There is not a true ending nor is there a right ending overall. It's what you pick and what you like. Hell, your idea of a good ending doesn't even need to be firm with canon. Whatever you want with your favorite character, go for it. I'm looking at you, Rika and Vanderwood stans who still want to date their favorite person and make content with that.

Hey hey if you could make an event in twst what would you want it to be about?,what characters would you wanna learn more about?

hello anon!!! oooh that's such an interesting question, I really like it!

to be honest I haven't given much thought to it before, as I've started to play the game kinda recently (almost 2 months now!) and haven't participated in a lot of the events, so I still have many of the available ones I wanna explore. all the events are so interesting, with their disney movie themes, character interactions and exclusive cards!

also, I'd be pretty content with learning more about any character, really, since they're all very well written and any new detail would be nice to learn and add to their whole picture! of course, if some of my favorites were to get choosen, that would make me happier, but I'd be satisfied with any character.

hmm, as I said here, I do think an April fools event would be nice! something more light hearted, filled with jokes and chaos. one example of April fools event that I've really enjoyed are from Mystic Messenger, as they are SO FUNNY, the characters are acting kind of crazy and it makes me lose it every time.

another event I think would be interesting is a valentine's day one. I know many people would like it to follow a more romantic route, and while I don't think it would work that well and am satisfied with the way things are, a valentine's event could be great for world building! do they have something like it? are their traditions like ours? is the date inspired by some famous tale? also, valentine's is a time to celebrate love, which can also be platonic and shared between friends! it would make a very wholesome event, after we get past the usual shenanigans.

if we are following the cliche route, then we need a beach day episode type of event. it would be even funnier if none of Octavinelle was included on it. imagining the first years going to spend a day at the Island's beach together sounds like so much fun!

I'd also LOVE a masquerade ball! maybe as a reference to Cinderela? the high tension and mystery and elegance of this type of event would be very appealing to me. AND IMAGINE THE BEAUTIFUL CARDS!! I just KNOW everyone would look amazing! the masks have a lot of potential to be creative and recall the original movies. I think it would work as a twistune event, and the soundtrack would be wonderful. imagining their little chibis all dressed up and dancing together in the background now.

one in which we get to explore more of the world would be nice as well, visiting the boys homeland (such as with the Harveston and the Scalding Sands events). the world building we would get to see would be amazing, and it might answer many questions! I particularly would be interested in visiting Sunset Savanna, maybe meeting Falena and the queen while having more Cheka cameos, and of course granny Bucchi as well, perhaps even Rook's family. or the Briar Valley, take a look at how different a fae habited land is and shine some light into Malleus' grandmother mystery. as both are kingdoms, I'd also want to explore how being part of royalty would affect their lives once they're in their own countries, and not at a neutral territory like NRC.

as I've seen it being done in fanfics before, an event in which some kind of potion experiment goes wrong and turns some of the boys into little kids would also be so cute. babysitter MC to the rescue! looking after the little brats as they cause trouble would surely be endearing. and if we get little kid cards, then what? (also, I think it would be a twistune event with nursery rhymes, but imagine it as a battle event for a second. we would get to fight literal little kids. yes they are bastards once they grow up but still. it would be so funny.) and any card would be extremely cute too.

as for something elaborate, I can think of a little storyline. Peter Pan, despite being one of disney's oldest movies and also iconic ones, didn't get any references in the game, at least none that I know of. Captain Hook is such a cool character, and I think there could be some teacher twisted from him, if not an entire dorm on his name. the point is: I really like pirates. so, I'd like a pirate themed event that would make references to Peter Pan. (look, I'm gonna be very biased towards my favorites right now, this would be a completely self indulgent event)

here's how it could go: there'd be rumors of a treasure somewhere in the Coral Sea, as recently many pirate ships have been swarming the waters in search of it. Crowley, of course, would also like to get his hands on the treasure, and who better to send to do his dirty work other than his minion MC? Azul, naturally, would want in, as the Coral Sea is his home and there is no better guide than him, though his help will come by the hefty price of 50% of the profit. the twins will be dragged into this as well, but happily so, as they'd love to visit their home again, even if it's on a boat.

other characters I think could enter: Ruggie, that was working at Mostro Lounge, heard everything and wanted in to get some of the supposed money too. Deuce, who might have been roped into another contract and was dragged by Azul to help them (they needed more hands on deck. Deuce will be cleaning it). and Silver, who either got roped into this mess by Lilia or got in trouble with the octatrio because of his sleeping habits and would go with them to make up for it.

I think their interactions as they imitate a pirate crew in the middle of the sea, stuck on a ship together, have immense comical potential. someone WOULD walk the plank (most likely Floyd). Ruggie would tell pirate stories and sing sea shanties. Deuce would do his best to act the part and try to talk like a pirate during the entire thing (he's really bad at it but he's got the spirit). Silver would befriend a bunch of seagulls and fish. Floyd would play with swords and almost cut something in half. Jade would have his fun by exploring their ship and learning how's the sea experience for people of the land. Azul would be stressed because where is that damn treasure!?

another thing that could happen would be a prince Rielle appearence! I'm super curious to see how he is and what exactly is his relationship with the Octavinelle guys. and imagine if he joins the crew to help? it would be so funny, the potential of someone who has known them since they were little kids joining in... plus, I'd get Neige and Che'nya to make a cameo at the end of the event and reveal Rielle has been going to RSA and is Neige's classmate!

for their cards I think Azul would be an SSR, as the captain of the crew (and finally would be wearing a hat that suits him). Ruggie would also have one, in which, differently from his halloween one, he would look more like a first mate (think Mr Smee like). Jade would be an SR, as the quartermaster. Floyd would be the other one, as the gunner, and he'd be holding pirate swords on both hands. Silver would be a R, as the boatswain, alongside Deuce, as the swabbie of the crew (bless him).

it would make a lot more sense for it to be a battle event, but I like twistunes and would like to hear the sea shanty like rythm they could come up with, too. if it was an option, a mix of the two would be ideal.

in the end, there might not be any treasure, or it doesn't have what they expected it to, rendering their efforts worthless, but it would have been such a nice trip! I'd have a lot of fun playing an event like this!

You and Jihyun walked through the park, someone had done a favor in removing the snow from the sidewalks. You each had a nice, warm drink from the coffee shop you just left, your arm in his. Jihyun was talking about his last exhibition, you were only half listening. Not because you didn’t care, but because you were planning your strike. Whoever cleared the sidewalks, left all the snow on banks next to them, the sidewalk was only wide enough for 2 people to walk side by side. You were so close to the banks.

“Darling,” Jihyun sighs. “You’ve gotten extremely quiet. Is there something wrong?”

Now was your time to strike. You pulled your arm out of his and kicked some snow at him, quickly running away before he could comprehend what happened.

“You’re so on.” He yelled, chasing after you. You ran deeper into the park, forgetting all about the sidewalk. Your warm beverage still in your hand. 

You feel something hit your back. He threw a snowball at you. You stopped, turning around, and setting your cup down. You both started balling up snow, throwing them at each other. 

“Jihyun!” You laughed, his snowball hitting you in the chest.

“I’m sorry, my love, but you have forced my hand.” He calls back.

You both continue your assault on each other, you both were laughing at this point. You probably looked like weirdos, you and your 27 year old boyfriend throwing snowballs at each other. But who cared? You 2 were having fun and are absolutely in love. 

Eventually, you two got tired of throwing snowballs and Jihyun tackled you into the snow, giggling his ass off. His nose was red, glasses covered in snow. You probably didn’t look much better.
