Nerd Chic after all these years please?

I know, I'm sorry. I am still writing it. I've just re-written it so many times

The real truth is...I have an ending. It's a pretty happy one in my opinion. That's the good news.

The bad news is there are like...8-10 (probably more) more chapters before I get there and I have no idea how to get there.

Essentially I'm fighting for my life to get everyone to become friends then lovers and also get Cloud to accept that he's awesome in his own way (just not the way he expects or tries so hard to be) in any sort of manner whatsoever.

But I will someday.

Sharon showed me this inquiry, posted on Facebook by a man she knows:

"Did you know that Lansing, Michigan was the home of the Pocket Protector? It was invented by Hurley Smith. Does anyone out there know how to contact any family members?

Ah-ha ... a research project in the works .

It struck me that Lansing was the perfect place for such an invention - highly practical but about as non-flashy as it gets. I can picture Oldsmobile engineers in their short-sleeved white shirts with pockets securely protected.

According to the Internet, Smith patented the PP in 1947, when fountain pens were notorious leakers and newly-invented ballpoints weren't much better.

With nerdiness being cool these days, I can imagine a resurgence of the Pocket Protector as a fashion statement. And, yes, you can still buy them.
