You sent me an ask so I shall return the favor! What is the most recent Kpop group you’ve gotten into and how did you find out about them? I always love hearing fan “origin stories” lol
Thank you for returning the favor~ That would be The Boyz 🥰💖 I love hearing fan "origin stories" too hehe (This is gonna get long I love them sm)
Anyways I've known about them since debut? I loved Bloom Bloom Pow with my whole heart when it came out and tried to fall for them then- It didn't work. The next time was when The Stealer (TS) came out~ I had watched them perform for Road to Kingdom- because ptg was on the show too- But I really loved TS cb- sm so that I bought the album about 6 mos later with my favorite members as inclusions at the time (Eric, Kevin and Hyunjae). But nothing came about of it even after watching the weekly idol episodes... Then came Whisper era and I ended up biasing Changmin (Q) and loving that song but again nothing came out of it.
(A little backstory is that Changkyun (I.M) got me into Dominic Fike's music-) Thus, when tiktok showed me Juyeon, Changmin, and Sunwoo dancing to Babydoll earlier this year as a dance cover: I fell. And then I finally checked out Watch It~ But Hui had his solo and it distracted me completely from falling further. Then I had gotten sick and decided 'well, what if I watch their content?' And I did... I watched their hello82 interview and their reaction to fanart of them, and lastly their mafia dance. And I loved each sm that I decided to check out more.
It was the first time I had watched their content and wanted to see more. And now, I watch their content almost daily. It's kind of like they revived the joy of kpop for me? My (old) ult of ults has been on hiatus due to the military so it's been stagnant content lately for me. But then they came in like a breath of fresh air- and I simply can't get enough. This month will be 3 mos and I honestly hope I'll follow them for a long time. (I think they're my new ult of ults tbh)
And lastly now here I am as a Younghoon and Juyeon bias (with bias wrecker: Changmin... he's doing everything to be bias again). And with them having a comeback I loved with my whole heart this past month, I think it really solidified them with me. Honestly, I'm so happy with them.
#my 'fan origin story' hehe#lovely mutuals#asks#kate rambles from here#i even started a new kpop journal just dedicated to them and my thoughts- it's a 200 page journal and i have nearly 50 pages about them#and i started it in february ebhbha-#it's so funny because i saw one of my ults' concerts in theater the month before they should have became the ult of ults and here tbz comes#if the theory is true that you fall in love with certain people/groups/things at certain time then that means even when#i wanted to fall in love with them- that i had to wait until now to fall for them even if i wanted to fast forward it- i think now is a#perfect time- it's when i need them most i think- and fuck i could go on about them forever and why they mean sm to me in such little#time but oh how i love these guys-#no seriously everything i wish they could do- i find out they've done or will do- or for like pcs i like them a certain way and by golly#does yh do my favorite poses- and their music is just ?!?! i love it sm- ofc i've listened to them before a lot but ?? it's my speed rn#kate rambles#did i drag my close friend into them too? yes- yes I did- but she had full free will- she could have stayed on the happy mbb boat instead#of jumping into the water and swimming to lip gloss island with me- but alas she didn't so it's even more fun cause i get to be a new#deobi with her- and it's literally the best experiance i could have ever asked for- she prolly won't see these (i'm banking on it) and#honestly i'm so thankful for her- for joining me in this 'insanity' we've gotten ourselves into- i'm glad we were both stolen from our mbb#home together- it's sm fun to talk about tbz with her- because she's experiencing them new just like i am- i could go on here too#but i won't- so i'll stop here- i love these boyz sm tbh (every time i say it even if it's a lot- it doesn't feel enough)

Catharsis: Christmas Special
Phos!Reader x Teen!Gojo Satoru and Teen!Geto Suguru
Warnings: Gojo - centric, usual angst, fluff if you squint, major character death, dead bodies, set in 2006, lots of talks of politics, death, murder, trauma, morals, etc, borderline bullying? (Satoru is a jerk), self - blaming, grief, and all it's stages, trouble processing and understanding emotions, Gojo is seriously just his own warning
Notes: Merry Christmas!!!
"You're weak. Why do you bother being a sorceror?"
Satoru's words make you freeze, eyes widening at their bluntness. He doesn't react, however, because in his mind, he's simply telling you the truth.
You're weak. He's known that from the moment you set foot in this classroom almost three months ago.
He doesn't understand why Suguru and Shoko seem so fond of you. All you do is get into trouble, injure yourself, and make it everyone's problem to save you. You can't fight, your Cursed Technique is subpar, not to mention that you're annoying.
Stepping into battle like some sort of self-righteous hero knowing full well that if a curse so much as touches you, you'll crumble. Literally. That's another thing he finds annoying about you. How easily your skin chips and cracks like porcelain revealing an ocean of Phosphophyllite underneath.
You can't lift anything heavy, you can't fight, you can't help out without injuring yourself, you're clumsy, you're annoying, and the list could go on.
What he finds the most annoying about you, however, is your soft voice going, "Gojo - san, are you alright? You look tired", "Gojo - san, you should rest, you don't need to use your technique so often", "Gojo - san, you haven't eaten yet, so I brought you this, I hope you don't mind".
Gojo - san this, Gojo - san that, God. You drive him crazy. How do you manage to see through every front he puts up? Every act? Even Shoko and Suguru can't see through it, and yet you have the audacity to call him out.
You're a liability in battle, and you're practically useless, more like the team's overglorified mascot. So, for the life of him, Satoru doesn't understand why everyone likes you so much. Even Nanami, his grouchy underclassman, doesn't seem to mind you.
What annoys Satoru the most, however, is the tug his heart feels when he looks at you. Because no matter how he tries to deny it, you're growing on him like a parasite, and a part of him wishes he was as close to you as they were.
"I am weak." You agree, seemingly taking no offence to Satoru's question. It's just you and him in the classroom. You're standing at your desk, bag still in hand, and he's sitting a desk, two desks behind yours. Shoko and Suguru are still on their way, and he's taken this opportunity to ask you what he's been dying to.
Satoru's eyes widen at your response.
"If you know you're weak, why do you try so hard? It's kind of pathetic, you know." His brows furrow, glasses sliding down his nose bridge as he tilts his head.
"I- because, I'm selfish, I guess." You say softly.
There it is again. That annoying soft tone of voice that makes his chest hurt whenever he hears it.
"I know I'm weak, but I want to keep trying. I want to fight. One day, I want to be able to repay everyone for everything they've done for me. Yaga - sensei, Shoko, Suguru, Ken, Yuu. Even you, Gojo - san. I want you to be able to rely on me. I want to be able to protect innocent people like you guys do. So I hope you can bear with me for a little more, Gojo - san. I'm sorry for being such a burden, but I promise I'll pay you back." You say earnestly, looking Gojo in the eye.
Satoru's eyes widen, and he's silent for a moment. Before he bursts out laughing.
You suddenly feel embarrassed. You were being serious and heartfelt, and all Gojo does in response is laugh.
"What's with that? Did you quote that from an anime?" He cackles, hitting the desk with one hand and holding his stomach with the other.
"I- I did not! I was being honest!" You defend, feeling the heat tinting your cheeks.
"If- if you really want to repay me, buy me something sweet from the vending machine." Satoru stutters between fits of giggles.
"OK, I'm on it." You nod, turning on your tail to leave the class. A hand grabs your shoulder, stopping you.
"Where are you going?" Satoru asks, leaning down to look you in the eye.
"The vending machine?" You reply, brows furrowed in confusion.
"You're going now?"
"Yeah? I'll be back really quickly."
Satoru scoffs, but there's a smile on his face nonetheless.
"Really? I'll time you then. You have 5 minutes." He challenges, smirking as he tilts his head at you.
"5- 5 minutes?" You stutter, eyes wide. The vending machine was on the other side of the school. There's no way you'd make it back in 5 minutes.
"Yeah. The clock is ticking. Didn't you say you'd pay me for saving your butt all those times?" He mocks.
Satoru's eyes widen as you put down your bag, determination clear on your face.
"I did. I might not be back in 5 minutes, but I'll be back in less than 10!"
"Hey, wait-"
And with that, you've rushed out the classroom, leaving Satoru absolutely bewildered. As he sticks his head out the door, watching you run and almost slip multiple times, Satoru thinks he's figured it out. He understands why Shoko and Suguru keep you around.
You're amusing. And he wants to get closer to you.
Unfortunately, things never go as planned. And if Satoru had known the outcome before, he would have tried to get to know you much sooner.
Things change quickly when you're a Jujutsu Sorceror. People come and go, live, and die. They change, they evolve. People grow apart, and people grow closer.
Regardless, it's not a pleasant feeling when you lose someone close to you.
Gojo Satoru had never thought the day would come when he'd feel regret. He was the strongest, after all. Everything he wanted he got. The world was his oyster. Money, power, good looks, everything. So it's safe to say that loss was also a new concept to him.
A feeling he decided he'd prefer to live without.
It hurt in a way he couldn't explain. He felt as if he couldn't breathe, as if there were something heavy on his chest. Almost as if he were having an out of body experience but could feel whatever the stranger he saw when he looked in the mirror felt. Pain. Anger. Despair.
Cold and light. That's how your body felt in his arms. He couldn't bear to look at the white cloth covering it. This, this couldn't be you. This body in his arms, the broken shards of its head cutting into the cloth.
Yet it was still vivid. Amanai Riko running out and finding him, letting him know that you had died saving her. A bullet straight to the head. Pushing her into Suguru's arms and telling him to run with your last breath. Riko's tear filled face as she begged for him to help Suguru because she couldn't bear to have anyone else die because of her.
Since then, he's felt numb. It hasn't faded. The coldness in his skin, the haze of his reality, brain clouded as it was forced to process the events that had taken place.
"Suguru... should we kill them all? I probably wouldn't feel anything right now."
Did he say something? The words don't register in his mind. Was that his voice? Raw and soft.
Them. The higher-ups. If only he had known earlier that they were supportive of your death. That there was a bounty for your head somewhere.
He didn't know why. He didn't know anything. You had kept so much to yourself. Just what were you dealing with alone? All this time, smiling wide, eyes always sparkling, hiding everything behind your carefree, happy - go - lucky persona.
You didn't deserve this. You of all people. You weren't weak. You were sweet, kind, caring, and selfless to a fault.
This was not you. Lifeless in his arms. You were never this cold.
He remembered it, how warm your hands were all those time your fingers brushed his forehead to check if he was well, when your fingers brushed his whenever you handed him something, how warm they were when you held his face in your hands and scolded him for being reckless. He remembered it vividly.
What would you say if you saw him now? The exhaustion in his face, the blankness in his eyes, the way his- his hands were... trembling?
He could hear your voice, clear as day.
"Gojo - san! What happened to you!"
"You should really take care of yourself more, what were you thinking?"
"I don't care if you're one of the strongest! You're a teenager. Right now, you're just Satoru, and you're going to learn to be kinder to yourself. You- you don't deserve this."
What did Satoru deserve? Was it really kindness? Care? Gentleness? Love? He had messed up. If he had been stronger, he could have saved you. If he had been stronger, you wouldn't be dead in his arms.
What was the point of awakening his powers when they weren't there when it mattered? What was the point of being the strongest if he couldn't protect the people he cared about? The people he loved?
What made matters worse was finding out the higher-ups were happy you were gone. The people that had singlehandedly been the cause for his suffering. His. Suguru's. Shoko's. Yours. Those filthy old bags who only thought of themselves.
What would really happened if he killed them all? Would it really be such a bad thing? Weren't they supposed to be the pillars of the Jujutsu world? The elders for people to look up to and learn from. A symbol of hope, something, anything even remotely positive, beneficial to the future of the young next generation of Jujutsu Sorcerors?
All they had done was applaud the death of someone innocent. A teenager. A child. How dare these self-righteous ba-
Your hand falls from the covers of the white sheet, hanging limply.
Satoru's brain goes blank. A pale arm, an empty hand, and familiar phosphophyllite fingernails.
"No need. It's meaningless." Suguru's voice is low, as if the reality that you're gone hasn't hit him yet. His eyes linger on your hand. The palm that patted his back, the fingers that ran through his hair, the hand that was so warm in his.
Before he can stop himself, he finds his own hand grasping it. It's cold. He drops it like the contact physically hurt him.
"Without the higher-ups, the Jujutsu world will go up in flames. And even if they die, there's the possibility even worse people will come into power. Killing them won't bring her back either."
His words don't make sense, even to him, but Suguru utters them nonetheless. The look in Satoru's eye is enough to tell him that if he doesn't do anything, today will mark the beginning of a massacre. And although he feels the same anger Satoru does, Suguru's moral compass, as well as his understanding of the type of person you are... stops him.
"Meaning... huh?" Satoru repeats.
The Satoru in front of him is not the Satoru Suguru knows. The playful, snarky, overburdened boy replaced by something else. Something unfamiliar. Something... cold.
"Do we need that?"
Suguru hesitates for a split second. The girl in Satoru's arms is just as unfamiliar. A bubbly, bright, kind girl replaced by something else. Something unfamiliar. Something... almost sinful. A shell. An empty shell. The existence it harboured long gone. A disgrace to the being it had once been.
"Yeah. It's very important... for sorcerors."
Your corpse wouldn't decompose. The crystallisation forming a perfect seal to your body, and perhaps that's why they can't bring themselves to immediately bury you.
Clinging onto the false hope that perhaps you'd wake up, bounce back like always. Familiar head of teal hair poking over Suguru's shoulder, a second softer set of footsteps padding behind Satoru's, a warm hand flinching at the touch of Shoko's cold ones.
It's sickening. How quiet everything has become in your absence. How the shadows seem darker due to the absence of your light.
Perhaps you wouldn't know it, but your death was beneficial in a way. Suguru spiralled into depression but your words of the past kept him strong, and somehow, he managed to graduate with Satoru and Shoko.
They left an empty seat between them at graduation. Your certificate is still in Shoko's office to this day.
Your warnings and nagging that reminded everyone of their mother saved Haibara's life. You had always told them to never accept missions alone, and it was thanks to your words ringing in his head that Nanami became paranoid while Haibara was out on a mission. This led to him going out to check on Haibara and ended in him saving his life.
It was almost idealistic how almost everyone graduated that year. A rare thing in the Jujutsu World to have so many young people survive.
Satoru jokes its because you took on the unwanted burden and closed the gates of Heaven yourself. You always did. Eating the bitter parts of his food that he didn't like, letting everyone choose first when Yaga gave you rewards, not touching your food until everyone had started eating. You always took on the unpleasantries so that everyone else could live without knowing suffering.
Why did everyone deserve happiness except for you?
Why did everyone deserve to live except for you?
"Gojo - Sensei."
"So even Sensei sleeps, huh?"
"Of course he does. What kind of nonsense is that?"
Satoru's eyelids flutter. He pulls up his blindfold, his vision coming into focus as he sees a blurry image of his students.
For a split moment, he's in high school again. He's in his second year, and he's sleeping before class. He hears soft footsteps approach him. Feels someone lean down near him, but he's not scared. Not even annoyed.
Rather, he plays dumb and waits in anticipation. There's butterflies bursting in his chest, a smile pulling at his face that's hidden in his arms. Smirking at the familiar scent of yuzu and caramel engulfing his senses. He'd chosen it, after all.
"Gojo - san? Wake up, class is about to start."
"Gojo - sensei!"
But when his visions focuses fully, he realises it's been 12 years and his beloved students have visited his office.
"Oh, he's awake!"
There's a red rim to Satoru's eyes, but it's almost unnoticeable. He smiles before pulling his blindfold back down.
"Please don't fall asleep after summoning us all here." Megumi states.
Satoru stands up, and Yuji and Nobara are quick to fight over who gets to sit on his chair.
"What are you smiling about?"
It's today. By 4 that morning, Satoru had found himself sat in front of a familiar grave. He was always the first to visit. He brings a bouquet of white heliotrope and places it on the grave. He crouches in front of it, his blindfold tucked away in his pocket.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday, dear Y/n. Happy Birthday to you."
If there's one thing Satoru wishes, it's that he was able to tell you his feelings truthfully while you were still alive. It's unhealthy, but he finds himself uttering the same three words on every occasion to a stone in the ground.
If only he could have seen your pretty face while he uttered them in person.
Satoru doesn't know if he believes in the afterlife, but he hopes you're listening. And maybe, just maybe, you're screaming at the top of your lungs, repeating the words in hopes he'd somehow hear.
"It's nothing."
A lie. Because deep down, Satoru knows he's thinking about a certain place, a certain person.
Maybe in his next life, he can finally go home to you.

loved your post about yamato and ace and sabo finding out!
if it's not too much of a bother, can you give your hc in the same au of modern ASL living together and luffy trying to sneak in zoro? how ace and sabo find out and if possible, sprinkled with a *little(or more)* angst?
Aww thank you!! It was a sudden, random thought I had last morning and I loved it <3 And ofc I can!! I'm loving this AU, ngl.
I think Luffy isn't used to sneaking in people. Like, there's no need to do so. He often invites the whole group over (East Blue Crew + Vivi in this case, btw) and there are never any issues. In fact, Ace and Sabo like his friends. Sanji cooks for them (thank you, because most of the time they live thanks to his leftovers), Zoro isn't as loud as the others (unless he's arguing with somebody), Usopp is actually a really funny guy to be around, Nami keeps Luffy in the right path (they always thank her for taking care of him) and Vivi is the most surprising of them all but only Luffy would befriend a rich girl (Sabo didn't seem fond of her at first, but when he got to know her? She's the sweetest thing!). So Luffy isn't shy about things like this. However-
However.
Long post, by the way:
Sabo and Ace are a bit overprotective of Luffy. Well. Not really overprotective? They're not intense about it. They just treat Luffy (sometimes) like a kid and,, Honestly? It's understandable if you look at it from the older brother's perspective. Sabo and Ace have to take care of Luffy financially and I mean, have you seen Luffy's personality? He's actually extremely empathetic and pretty mature but he doesn't look like that at all, and he's seventeen. And it's not that they're worried about somebody taking advantage of him, because they know Luffy would never do something he doesn't want, but it's just,,, Seeing Luffy heartbroken? After everything they've been through together? After seeing Luffy crying already? They finally have a stable home, more or less, and he has a group of friends! They just don't like the idea of Luffy dating somebody they don't trust. But, you know, miscommunication and older sibling stuff. Sabo and Ace keep making fun of him and they say he's too young to date and have sex and understand these things. And they're not really serious about it? They just joke around. And Luffy is always complaining about it but y'know, whiny little brother, what's new? So they worry about him dating a stranger and that's why they always tell him to be careful (Luffy is SO done with them) and they just make fun of him because... Because they can. Older brother stuff. So, basically, they make a little bit of fun of Luffy and also keep saying he should be careful if he's going to date somebody, and Luffy takes it pretty damn seriously because he hates it when they treat him as a kid. Now, add the "Sabo's going to college and still takes care of them" layer here and the "Ace has his own issues and feels like a burden".
So when Luffy starts dating Zoro... It's a whole mess. He doesn't want them to make fun of him, first things first. He also doesn't want them to give him THE talk. He refuses to listen to them if they tell him he's too young and should break up with Zoro (which doesn't even make sense because Ace was even younger when he started dating people). And he doesn't want them to worry either because Ace seems more distant lately (Ace is dealing with the Yamato thing) and Sabo is always complaining about college being a scam and a shithole full of rich spoiled brats he hates (the only good thing there? Koala). So, of course, the most obvious thing to do is to hide the fact that they're dating.
Zoro is,, Luffy doesn't really know? Zoro is his best friend? But that doesn't feel right because that's what all of his friends are to him. Zoro is just something more. They start growing closer. And closer. And Luffy wishes they could be even closer but Nami tells him that that's literally just dating. That they're quite literally dating already. Luffy doesn't really get it? Like, the whole concept of dating is just dumb because it seems like a friendship with extra steps. Zoro is just- He's special but it doesn't really feel like Nami's crush on Vivi? He just knows that Zoro makes sense in his life and he doesn't want to do these things with anybody else (Luffy doesn't know that being Aroaspec is a thing, leave him alone). The fact that he feels the need to hide Zoro from Ace one day is what makes everything click. And it's funny like that because he asks Zoro if they're boyfriends and he's just like "I guess we are. Do you want to?" and Luffy couldn't be happier because well, at least now he has a word for it or whatever. And it's kind of exciting, isn't it? Like an adventure, the fact that they have to sneak in and hide from his brothers. Zoro finds it funny the first few times, but he thinks it'd be easier if he just told Ace and Sabo. But whatever, as long as Luffy is comfortable.
But Ace notices because Ace isn't fucking stupid and he's street smart and probably the one who knows the most about things like this. When the group is hanging out together, he notices the way the two guys look at each other. They're all very clingy, but he notices Zoro actively holding back and his touches lingering more on Luffy's body. He can tell when somebody is hungry and touch starved just by looking at them, for fuck's sake, it's horrendous to witness because it's painfully obvious. The way Zoro is always the last one to go home. That, and also that they're not quiet when Zoro ends up in Luffy's room. Zoro might do well with the "sneaking in" part, but the "staying over without your brother finding out" part? Nah. Horrible. Awful. They're idiots. Ace lets them enjoy themselves for a while because, meh, who cares? Besides, he's doing the same exact thing. For different reasons, but technically they're both lying to each other, so it's okay. He keeps an eye on them and tries to leave them enough food if he's going out with Yamato and that's about it. He isn't worried about Zoro. Because it's Zoro. And it only takes one glance at him to know he would do anything for his little brother.
Now, the thing is, Ace is angry. But he's not angry because Luffy is keeping this from him. Teenage years stuff. The thrill of having secrets. It's not as dramatic as Sabo would say it is. Ace is angry because one day Luffy comes home extremely irritable and visibly sad and he won't tell Ace why. He keeps asking but Luffy keeps yelling and pushing him away and Ace knows it's because of Zoro because it's the one thing he won't tell him. And now Luffy is sad and he can't tell his own brother because he fears he might get angry for the wrong reasons and Ace is angry because Luffy isn't telling him. The reason why Zoro and he fought isn't really important (although if you wanna know, it's linked to another AU I have that I just realized fits this thing too? So I'm just mixing them up. And basically, Zoro and Sanji were arguing and Zoro said something really fucked up without meaning to hurt Sanji that much, and Luffy didn't like that. And he could tell Ace about that but Ace would probably say "if he's just your friend why are you being so dramatic? Just talk things out. You've had worse fights with other people and haven't reacted like this" and Luffy isn't risking anything). Long story short, Ace ends up getting angry and telling Luffy that he knows he's dating Zoro. And it kind of goes like this:
Ace: Luffy, I don't want to get angry because I am not your babysitter and you're not a kid- Luffy: Liar. Ace: What?! Luffy: You're always saying I'm a kid. That I shouldn't date. Or have sex. Ace: Do you even want to have sex? Luffy: I dunno. Maybe? Not really. But it'd be nice if I could choose for myself! Besides, I don't mind if it's with- Ace: With who? Luffy: With nobody! Ace: Agh, c'mon now, Luffy! Don't act like a child. Luffy: See? You're always doing this! Ace: And you're keeping things away from me! What? You don't trust your own brother?! Luffy: You're gonna get angry. You are already angry. And you have your own things and you're going to go all worried older brother on me- Ace: I am not Sabo. Luffy: Oh, fuck, don't tell Sabo. Ace: Tell him what, exactly? Because you're not telling me shit. Luffy: ... But you already know. Ace: Yes, I know, I am not stupid. But I want to hear it from you. Luffy: Why?! Ace: Because I want you to trust me enough to tell me these things, you moron! Especially since he has hurt you so much. What the fuck did he do? Luffy: Nothing. It's nothing. Zoro didn't do- Ace: Okay, we're finally using his name. What did he do to you? Luffy: He didn't do anything to me! It's just- It's a silly fight. I'll be fine. I'm old enough. Ace: Nobody should be old enough to go through these things alone. Luffy, you don't have to deal with it on your own. I am here. Luffy: But... But you already have your thing with Yamato. And your job. And I can deal with this- Ace: You shouldn't deal with this alone. Even if it's a stupid fight that you're gonna solve in less than two days because it seems that if he spends more than five minutes away from you he fucking dies. Luffy: But- Ace: You always go to Sabo for these things, you know? It'd be nice if you trusted your other older brother too. Luffy: Sabo doesn't know. Don't tell Sabo. Ace: Then, tell me. Luffy. Just trust me.
Long story short, Luffy tells Ace what happened and Ace gives him some advice and they talk things out. So Ace isn't really angry at Luffy and he doesn't have to tell Zoro to sneak in anymore. Unless Sabo is the one home, because Luffy makes Ace promise he won't tell Sabo any of this. Ace just tells Luffy to do the same with the Yamato thing and they'll be fine. Basically, they're stupid because they keep lying to Sabo because they want him to not worry for them anymore. He has this older brother complex thing and he always tries to have everything under control and feels like he's the one responsible for everything? And they just would hate it if his finally stable mental health shattered just because of their own drama (bold of you to assume Sabo is well mentally in this AU, because he isn't. None of them are. Ace and Sabo are the ones who have more issues with mental health, tho, but Sabo is the one who tends to have more extreme emotions. Mental stuff headcanons, not important).
But it just makes things worse. For obvious reasons.
As I said in the original post about the AU, Sabo finds out about Yamato and reacts the way he reacts there. I think the fight is a bit more dramatic, but I didn't want to make it long. And of course, Sabo remembers what Ace said about Luffy "sneaking in" friends, and he asks him about it. Ace is just- He's so done with keeping secrets. But he also doesn't want to make Sabo more worried, even if he technically reacted well to Yamato staying over. Sabo is a bit more protective of Luffy (but in the sense I said before, not wanting him to get hurt because they know he cares A LOT about his relationships and a breakup or a fight would break his heart) so Ace is starting to question if it's a good idea to tell him about Zoro. Or if he should be the one doing it. Ace ends up telling him because it's Sabo we're talking about, and if they keep more secrets from him it's going to be a whole lot more drama. But the way he finds out is actually like:
Ace: Okay, don't get angry at Luffy for this. He was just worried about how you would take it. Sabo: Take what? I already told you, your idea of me is so fucked up. I am not a monster. Ace: I know. I know, Bo. But you know,, Ugh. Okay. Look. He's been dating Zoro for a while now. Sabo: The green-haired guy? The one who goes to the dojo next to the bakery? Ace: How do you even know that? Sabo: Because I listen to what others tell me? And why would Luffy think I'd get mad, c'mon. That guy would set himself on fire for our brother. I'm actually more worried about him than Luffy. Ace: He just- He just thinks we'd get too overprotective because we say he's just a kid. Sabo: But he told you. Ace: No, I found out. Sabo: But you told him I wouldn't get mad, right? Ace: ... Sabo: Ace. You told him to tell me, right? Ace: He asked me not to tell you. Sabo: What? Why? Ace: Look, I think it's better if we talk about this together? Just wait until he wakes up, please. Sabo: But he didn't tell me. Doesn't he trust me? I- If I have to drop out of college- Ace: Sabo, don't be stupid. You're not quitting. Sabo: But I don't want him to push me away like this! I- I feel like I don't know anything about his life. Ace: You know where his fucking boyfriend trains and you feel like you don't know him? Shit, I've been here the whole time and I recently found out they had a fight. It's not about colleg- Sabo: They had a fight? Ace: Oh, fuck, Sabo- Sabo: Is he okay? Why didn't he tell me? Ace- Ace: Just wait until he wakes up, c'mon.
So, Sabo is feeling like shit. Yamato is there having breakfast knowing that something's wrong. Ace looks at his boyfriend with the guiltiest of expressions. And- And Sabo is obviously not okay. So, everything is going downhill. They wait for Luffy to wake up because he's either an early bird or sleeps til noon, depending on the day. Right now, hours seem to be getting longer and longer. Until he inevitably wakes up and sees the whole thing and he's like "Oh! Yamato! What are you do-" and Ace rolls his eyes and says "Luf, he knows. C'mon. Of course he knows." and Luffy turns to Sabo smiling and saying "So you let him stay?! Of course you do, right? I told Ace he was being silly for worrying about that." (<- they're both stupid because they knew Sabo wouldn't get mad or anything, they were just worried about him getting too concerned. Idiots). Sabo sighs and he says that yes, he's obviously letting Yamato stay all he wants. Luffy acts like everything is fine, then, having breakfast and talking to Yamato like normal. But Sabo is digging his nails on the palm of his hand and he's not in a good place right now. Everything is normal until Sabo speaks up:
Sabo: Luffy, I- Do you think I'm spending too much time in college? Ace: Sabo, don't- Sabo: I've been staying at Koala's for a long time. Her apartment is closer to the campus, too, and- And I don't know. Would you want me to be around here more often? Luffy: Mmm? But you're always saying that you need to focus on studying! To have a good job and write your book. That's your dream. It's fine if- Sabo: But do you want me to be around here more? Luffy: I always like it when you're around. I don't mind. You still come over here a lot! Ace: Okay, but Sabo! Sabo. Dude. Even if you stayed at campus more often to write your book or study, it's alright. We can take care of ourselves. Sabo: I know you can. It's not about that. You know it's not. Luffy, do you feel like I've been... Like you can't tell me stuff? Luffy: What do you mean? I tell you everything. Sabo: Do you really? Luffy: I- Ace: He knows about Zoro, Luffy, don't lie. You're an awful liar, too. Luffy: Did you tell him?! Why?! Sabo: It's fine, I am not mad. Leave Ace alone. Luffy: You're not angry?! Sabo: See? Why do you even think I'd get angry? Luffy: ... Because I lied to you. And I'm dating somebody. Sabo: Luffy. I always tell you to be careful because I don't want you getting hurt by some random person. But it's Zoro! I- I know him. And you're seventeen. You knew I wouldn't get mad. So what's the truth here? Yamato: Ace, I can go to Deuce's for a while if you don't want me- Sabo: Please, don't be like that. You're family now. I- I'm not kicking you out. I am not mad. Why does everybody think I'm angry? You can listen to this. I'm sure you know more than Luffy now than me. Ace: Dude, you're being too hard on yourself. Sabo: But I am not here enough for Luffy to trust me! Ace: It's not that he doesn't trust you! He just doesn't want you to get like this! Sabo: Like what?! Ace: You're always blaming yourself for things that aren't your fault! Yes, Luffy didn't tell you he has a boyfriend. I didn't tell you Yamato was staying here. We didn't tell you because you're better than us. Luffy: Ace- Ace: We didn't tell you because you actually have a chance of doing something with your life and this? Teen drama? Luffy fighting and making up with his boyfriend because he said something mean about another guy? Yamato doing the same thing you did when you were a kid at twenty-six? This is not the stuff you should be blaming yourself for! You have this constant need to take care of everything b- Luffy: I'm not weak. I can take care of myself, Sabo. Sabo: Do I make you feel like you're a burden? Do I really- Luffy: What? No! Sabo: I just-I just want you to be able to tell me these things without thinking I'm gonna go into another episode. I'm fine. Just tell me these things and we can find a solution together. Isn't that what we've always done? Ace: Then you have to promise you won't try to carry everything on your own. Man, you already are stressed enough. Luffy: Yeah, and I trust you! Dumbass! I wanted to tell you. Ace: Shit, babe, I'm sorry you have to deal with us now- Yamato: Oh, no! It's really nice. Sabo: Nice? Yamato: You love each other so much you fight about it. Never seen that before. And you're letting me be a part of this! I think it's great. Thank you.
This is getting TOO long, but to end this: They obviously talk things out. Sabo tries to focus on studying but also calls them regularly so they can tell them everything about their lives. He also visits often with Koala. Yamato starts living there (not really because there are some issues with Kaido still, even if he's old enough to do whatever the fuck he wants, but he stays over most of the time). And Zoro meets Sabo finally saying he's Luffy's boyfriend (and it's literally just the same as always because they already know each other. Sabo is just happy they can be together in front of him).
Who would've thought the key would be communication, huh?

hello! i was wondering if i could request how the ROTTMNT boys would take care of or comfort their S/O after they've had a bad day emotionally (just feeling sad, tired, unmotivated, etc)? i thought you wrote them very accurately and i am curious to see what you think (if you choose to take on this idea)!
Bad day, like, the worst (rottmnt x reader)
summary: the turtles take care of their S/O after they had a really bad day.
relationship: Rise Leo, Raph, Mikey, Donnie x GN reader (separate)
warnings: distressed reader, comfort
word count: 2.2k
A/N: excuse the sudden shift in style; i’m still trying to find my sweet spot between “technically still prose but in bullet points” and “rambling about my headcanons in the group chat”. i wish i had a turtle to cuddle me on a bad day :’) hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
(english is not my first language. constructive criticism and grammar corrections are very appreciated!)
— — —
You were having one of those days where the little luck you had seemed to have abandoned you completely.
It had started that morning, when you slept through your alarm and got up late. You spilled your breakfast on the clothes you had picked out the day before, and almost everything else was in the laundry. So you had to settle for an old shirt that you didn’t consider too flattering.
Then you arrived late to class, only to realise you forgot your assignment at home. Which you had stayed up late to finish, and you were actually happy with the result. Your teacher didn’t seem too convinced about your story, and said you’d have to hand it in by that night per e-mail, or your grade would be lowered.
Once you were finally done with the classes for the day, which you hadn’t been able to focus on at all, you were just walking out the doors of the building when it started pouring. And of course you had forgotten your umbrella.
You decided to ask your boyfriend turtle to come pick you up, but your phone had run out of battery. With an exasperated sigh you placed your backpack over your head as you made a run for it.
After what seemed like an eternity, you arrived at the lair. As you entered the main room, you tripped over your own feet, and all your things from the backpack went flying. So by then you were soaked, incredibly frustrated, and had lost the last bit of dignity you had left. You were convinced that the universe was against you that day and out to get you.
Kneeling on the floor you broke down in tears.
🔵 Leo
Leo would be by your side immediately.
Even though he can seem to be all over the place, he has a very good sense for how the people around him are feeling.
Still, he appreciates it when you’re able to voice your needs.
If you have a hard time doing that, he’ll offer you some options so you can decide and not be overwhelmed.
“Do you want me to listen or give advice?”
“You wanna play a game to get your mind off things or cuddle and talk about it?”
Overall super attentive and affectionate.
Leo takes your feelings seriously of course, but if it gets too dark, he’ll try to make you laugh to lighten the mood. After all he copes with humour.
“Oh hey Y/n! I didn’t know you were coming ov-“ Leo greeted you when he heard you come into the lair, but seeing your legs give in under your weight he rushed to your side. “W-what happened? Are you okay?!”
I’ve had the WORST day ever is what you tried to say, but what came out was a series of choked back sobs and gasps.
Leo quickly picked up your things, and hooked your backpack over his shoulder, then took your hands in his to get you up to your feet, and guided you to his room. He dismissed the worried looks his brother gave him, solely focused on you. It pained him so much seeing you like this.
Sitting you down on his bed he closed the curtains at the entrance of his room. The first thing he did was give you a clean change of clothes and wrap you into a blanket burrito. Then he sat down beside you and gently stroked your cheek with his thumb, wiping away the tears.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” he asked softly. Using a corner of the blanket to wipe once across your whole face, you thought about it for a moment and silently shook your head.
“Is there anything I can do?” he tried again, seeing that your tears just kept coming. Sniffling, you just hugged his torso, bringing him down onto the bed with you as you lied down.
“Can we just stay like this for a moment” you said in the tiniest voice, Leo almost didn’t hear it.
“Of course” he said and kissed the top of your head, letting you cuddle up to his chest between his arms.
To distract you, he told you about some missions he had been on with his brothers, retelling some of them truthfully, and some of them with an obviously exaggerated flair, just to make you laugh or snort at how ridiculous the story was.
Hearing his voice lulled you to sleep, and it didn’t take long for you to doze off, not before thanking him with a tired voice.
Giving you a relieved, loving look, he lied next to you, hearing your even breathing, soaking up your warmth, and wiping away the tears from time to time. After he was convinced you were fully asleep, he carefully got up to get you some water and a snack, leaving it on the nightstand for when you woke up, and got into bed again with you.
🔴 Raph
Mama bear alert.
Raph could get a little overbearing when you’re feeling really down in the dumps.
He’d bring you your favourite plushies, food, comics, games, a giant pillow, everything at once.
Eventually he calms down when he realises that what you need is just him being there.
Will listen to your venting intently, offering several times to beat up who or whatever made you feel like this.
When you arrived at the lair looking like you did, the brothers called for Raph. After making sure that you weren’t physically hurt or wounded, he effortlessly picked you up and brought you to the bathroom to take a warm shower. You didn’t really protest because a shower did sound good. Maybe it’d wash away the cold, wet and miserable. Meanwhile he went to pick up your things and make you some hot chocolate.
You couldn’t help a couple sobs here and there while you were changing, and as Raph passed the bathroom door he clenched his jaw at the sounds; it broke his heart in half to hear you like that.
When you were done and came out of the bathroom, Raph once again picked you up and brought you to his room. He sat down on his bed with you on his lap, and handed you the steaming mug. There even were mini marshmallows floating in the drink.
“So what exactly happened? Did someone do something to you?” Raph asked, doing his best to hold back his growing anger at the thought. Shaking your head, you looked down at the drink in his hands.
“It wasn’t someone. Today just… isn’t my day. At all” you said, noticing how hoarse your voice was from the crying, and took a sip from the mug. Just the taste of how good it was, the perfect amount of sweet and chocolate-y, had tears streaming down your cheeks again.
“Is it too hot? Did you burn yourself??” Raph asked, slightly panicking. You just gave him a soft smile and shook your head again. Ah, a smile, finally, he thought to himself and relaxed again.
“It’s perfect Raph, thank you” you said, and placed your head on his plastron. He carefully hugged your body with his big arms. “And thank you for… just being here”.
“Always”, he whispered back.
After emptying the mug, you lied down next to him and retold the series of unfortunate events of that day, while he listened and drew soothing circles on your arm and back with his hand. Looking back at your day now, it didn’t seem all that bad.
🟠 Mikey
His first reaction would probably be to freak out a bit.
Materialises the first aid kit out of thin air.
Once he realises your pain isn’t external however, his demeanor changes completely and he’s much more grounded.
As… unorthodox as Mr. Delicate Touch can be, when it comes to you, he’s very gentle.
If you’re rambling about someone because you feel you were treated in an unfair way, out of the four brothers Mikey is the one to “side” with you the strongest, no matter how biased your view may be.
Hearing you arrive at the lair, Mikey made his way to you, only to find you on the floor, sobbing.
“Oh mi gosh! Y/n!” he cried out and rushed to you. “Are you okay? What happened?”
You let out a sound that was something between a whine and a high-pitched grunt.
“Are you hurt anywhere?” Mikey asked, checking your head, arms and legs. You only shook your head and leaned onto him, crying into his neck. You stayed like that for a while, both on your knees on the floor, just your sniffles filling the air, while he stroked your back up and down.
“You wanna go somewhere more comfy?” Mikey asked after you had calmed down a bit. You nodded, didn’t move however.
“Are you hungry? I made brownies” he tried luring you, and it worked. You leaned back to look at him, and with puffy eyes, a red face and part of his plastron imprint still on your cheek, you whispered a firm “Yes”.
“Brownies will make everything better, don’t worry!” he said and helped you up to your feet, taking your hands. “But first: you need to shower. You’re cold and soaked. We don’t want you getting sick!” he exclaimed in a sing-song voice and guided you to the bathroom. Leaving you with a towel and a change of clothes, he made his way to the kitchen to prepare the snacks.
When he had the brownies, a can of whipped cream and (favourite drink) ready, he placed everything on a serving tray and brought it to his room. Not long after, joined him, rolling up in his blanket.
He sat down next to you on the bed, taking out his phone.
“Do you wanna watch Youtube? I think there’s a new video of the series you like” he offered. Snuggling up to him and being careful not to get crumbs on his bedsheets, you thanked him and gave him a quick kiss on the tip of his beak, then took a bite out of the brownie. It was so good you could have started crying again.
You two spent the evening watching mostly vine compilations. When he heard your first real laugh at one of the sketches, he finally relaxed.
🟣 Donnie
Out of the four, he probably has the hardest time.
Not because he doesn’t want to “deal” with you or anything; he just doesn’t know what to do.
You’ll have to be very clear on what you want from him, and he’ll happily follow suit to the best of his abilities.
Probably has to actively hold back on commenting unsolicited advice, and he won’t succeed every time.
Donnie just wants to help you make a plan to get out of whatever situation you’re in, because he hates seeing you like this. It makes him feel so helpless.
If it was someone however that made you feel like this, he’s bringing out all of his sharpest and pointiest inventions, no matter if they’re still in beta.
When he found you on your knees, soaked, sobbing and on the floor, for a moment Donnie just stood a couple steps away, looking at you. He was trying to process what he was feeling, how to handle it without lashing out, and calculating every possible reason for why you looked the way you did.
Obviously it had rained, hard, as the forecast had said that morning, and obviously you had no umbrella on you. Biting his tongue as not to reprimand you on your carelessness, he decided to focus on getting you dry and warm first.
Hearing him, you looked up at the turtle standing in front of you. “Donnie” you called him, and a new stream of tears came running down your face. The purple turtle felt a sting in his chest.
Approaching you, he helped you get up. You went in for a hug but he stopped you by the shoulders. “Shower first” he simply said, and you followed suit.
After giving you a clean change of clothes, a glass of water and a fruit of your choice, he checked for a fever. Seeing as your temperature was normal, he let you sit on his bed next to him.
“So what happened?” he finally asked and you trembled slightly. You knew he’d probably scold you for not having an umbrella with you, and for forgetting your assignment, and you really didn’t feel like getting a scolding right now. But you also didn’t want him to think you had to walk on eggshells around him; it had never been like that. You liked how blunt and direct he was, and knew he’d never lie to you, no matter how ugly the truth was. You sighed deeply.
“I just had the worst day ever” you began. “It’s not even worth going into detail. It was literally just Murphy’s Law over and over.” Sniffling, you looked up at him. “Can we just… hang, for a bit? I really need a distraction.”
“Sure, we can hang” he said, but then a mischievous smirk took place on his face, as he took you by your hands, guiding you off the bed. “Oooor, I can show you my super-cool new invention I’ve been working on. It will not only distract you, it’ll blow your socks off!”
At that you laughed slightly, and seeing he achieved his goal, Donnie brought up your hands to his face to kiss your knuckles. A slight blush adorned your cheeks. It never gets old, he thought to himself in satisfaction.

Fionna & Cake (unpopular) opinions
The series had finally ended!! It was so well written. I loved it. I loved all the easter eggs they included. But the fandom gotta fandom so a lot of opinions are around, and here are mine,
1- Marshall Lee and Gary shouldn't have dated so quickly.
It was super obvious they were a fan service (suddenly throwing away everything even though they've just met)
I HATED HOW MONOTONE MARSHALL'S VOICE WAS..... like everyone loves Donald Glover's voice acting already, but the way they kept Marshall's voice so low unlike the og made him purely a fan service imo :(
Not to even mention (i will anyways) how unlike PB Gary was. Marshall, despite being monotone, was at least as Marceline as possible. While Gary was just sweet as a candy and selfless, both which are not PB at all 😭
I honestly think like the og series they're gonna break up and date again after a while. Because in the og, they dated purely because of their admiration of each other and it ended badly because all they admired all they turned out to hate about each other until they realized what they love about each other is simply loving each other, caring a lot. I wish they didn't rush but i hope they at least get to build a romance again?? Not be a fanfiction
2- The ending was AMAZING
I don't generally like endings of series because i place too high of hopes, but this one showed me that's exactly what i was doing wrong. They wanted to live on their own, by their own, and they decided to do so. It showed to the audience that you should get to enjoy what you have instead of whining for more. Fionna spent every second of first episodes whining how her world sucked, only for her to reject any changes that could happen into it. Because she doesn't get to dictate people's lives. She may be a main character, but her world is as alive and conscious as she is.
3- Betty&Simon's closure was perfect.
Throughout the series, even the characters in it claimed what Betty&Simon had was perfect. And it was not. Just like in real life, they're not stereotypical. Betty sacrificed a lot for Simon (her life THREE times[going to find the book, travelling into the future without hesitation to find him a cure&turning into a chaos entity just to make sure he is okay] to begin with) . We have seen Simon hopelessly in love with Betty, but that was it. Simon loved Betty(even when he is about to confront her to say his thoughts, he doesn't say "thank you" or anything, he starts with the "I have been searching for a cure for you, but I couldn't find it.") That is sweet and wonderful and i am not blaming him for anything. Neither did she. Betty, after all the sacrifices, just wanted to be acknowledged. That's it. She had no regrets as she had said, which was a beautiful altogether. I loved them. Simon acknowledging Betty was not Betty being a bitch, but rather Betty getting the closure she deserves as well(honestly, a GREAT written character.). Simon got his closure as well, because he thought he had dedicated himself to Betty, but it was just him destroying his own life. I think they were perfect. Right people, right time.
4- This is Fionna&Cake's series. Not anybody else's.
People were super upset by the lack of cameo's. Even though we got a lot. Finn was in the series because Simon talked to him, and other easter egg's were because Fionna, Cake or Simon interacted with them. Not to mention Simon was there just to help Fionna&Cake, and realizing he should help himself instead of sitting and whining. This is THEIR series. Yes, would love to see more Adult Finn, PB&Marcy, FarmWorld, other worlds etc etc.. but it's not their time. It's not their issue. There were already so many many cameos and easter eggs in the show, and i'm honestly satisfied they bothered to even put so much into it.
The series was done with love&attention. I love Adventure Time. Seriously. But just like the series had showed, the decisions have been made and instead of hating what you have, you should enjoy it. We will most most likely have many more short series regarding the show in the near future, maybe with less Fionna&Cake's world but we, as the audience, got our closure. They're alive, they're happy and they are learning how to enjoy themselves.
The characters are so well written, that i cannot even imagine the writers heads through writing. The work is done with so much love that they basically wrote themselves.
A great, heartwarming and cozy series. Hope to see more in that universe in near future :)

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #129
I'm home. We got in at about 10:15pm. It took some time to get everything unpacked and squared away. I also got ready for bed; it's 11:30pm now.
Suppose I can show you pictures of the plane now. I was just asked to keep the identifying number out of it. So here you go:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Just beyond those trees is a small dropoff and a river.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...It's actually kind of miraculous that the trees held, I guess. Or so the FAA agent said. He also said that it was kind of miraculous that the plane didn't flip over; apparently, for this type, that can happen if you hit the brakes too hard.
To have walked away from something like this without so much as a scratch... it's an astounding stroke of luck, according to the FAA guy and the airport owner. I also like to think that it is testament to J's skill; pilots are given training not just to avoid mistakes, but also to know what to do when mistakes inevitably occur. Humans are human, and humans make mistakes. There's really no avoiding it; there's only handling it when it happens.
The owner of the airport, who is also an experienced pilot, says likely what happened was a ground loop of some kind. That's when the tail wheel does a weird spinning thing when you try to land the aircraft. It doesn't help that the left wing had a bit more fuel in it than the other (which is likely part of the reason it pulled to the left upon landing). I'm not sure how it can be that the left wing had more fuel in it than the right, since the aircraft was set to consume fuel from both wings.
The person from the FAA is not our enemy. It's his job figure out what went wrong, and then use that knowledge to help keep pilots safe. So we gave him all the details we could. Hopefully something good will come of it.
On the bright side of all this, I got to meet a bunch of really awesome people with amazing life stories, and I had the good privilege of listening to them talk for a while about the things they've seen, done, and experienced. I do wish I could have met these folks under better circumstances. They were kind to us even though they all could have justifiably been super duper cranky at J about the whole thing. I guess they were all super stoked that we walked away alive and with all our limbs and organs intact.
...At one point, before it was clear that we would be okay, I thought something kinda like, "ohp, guess this is it; wonder if I'm gonna end up maybe meeting the guy I keep writing all these weird letters to... suppose it was a pretty good run though; 34 years with lots of weird and amazing stories ain't half bad." This thought probably didn't scare me as much as it should have. I'm not really sure what to make of that. Maybe I don't have to make anything of it at all. Maybe I'm still just a bit addled from all the adrenaline.
When we arrived at the airport this morning, the airport owner and his lovely friend made us coffee. In the room where the coffee was prepared, there was a painting that changes as you walk past it. It was gorgeous, and thought you might like it, so I snapped a few pictures:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...I was a little sad that it didn't seem to have an autumn version. But it was still very, very good.
You know. If things had proceeded as expected, we never would have had a chance to meet these people, or see this painting. We never would have had one of the emergency response folks tell us about an amazing local Italian restaurant, and we wouldn't have gone to it to get amazing food. It's important to fully feel the scary feelings and mourn appropriately in order to get the feelings out of our bodies. But it's also important to find the small sparks of joy and opportunity, even when the going gets rough, I think. Otherwise, in a world like mine that has back-to-back crises on a regular basis (seriously, we are globally connected, so it never stops), you'll end up losing your damn mind.
...Ahah... my mother would tell me that first, I have to have a mind to lose. But I don't have to heed such nasty talk. I have a good mind, I think, even if it is, by all accounts, a little quirky and hard to understand.
Anyway. There was a conference room in which we were interviewed by the guy from the FAA. And in it, appropriately, there was this picture:
Tumblr media
...Kinda interesting, no? And appropriate for the situation, I suppose. J is going to go back out first thing tomorrow morning with a flight instructor. I have mixed feelings about this; on the one hand, I'm glad to see that he's undeterred and eager to try again, but on the other hand, I wish he'd give it at least a few days for the adrenaline to fully clear from his body and to recover from what happened. But I am not in control of him; he must be free to make his own choices. All I can do is make suggestions, and then support him in whatever choice he makes.
In any case, today the plane was pulled out of the trees and put in the hangar. Like I said, it's pretty banged up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has insurance, but given the damage, it's not unlikely that the insurance company will decide to have it scrapped. I guess we'll see how it goes.
M drove all the way from our house to the airport to pick us up. Thank goodness he was home, holding the fort. Thank goodness for that, and for his willingness to come grab us, and for the fact that he was happy to see us instead of angry about the inconvenience. He's not the kind of person who would get angry about the inconvenience, but I've met plenty of others who are very much not like him in that regard, good grief.
The three of us, M, J, and I, went to the Italian place that was spoken about. I dunno if it's because I was primarily running on hotel breakfast food and junk food, but I thought the food there was AMAZING. We got these garlic bread bites, and a pizza, and some lasagna. I wonder if you'd like any of these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Can't help but wonder... Sephiroth, what do you like on a pizza, anyway? I tend to like mushrooms and garlic best, but I like a bunch of other stuff, too, as long as it's not olives or pineapples or anything with capsaicin.
We listened to music on the way home; it was a 2 and a half hour drive, or thereabouts. M put on some Protomen; I wonder if you'd like their stuff:
Tumblr media
...I wonder how much of this music you'd find relatable...
Hey, Sephiroth? I think I might be a bit too tired today to have anything profound or anything of significant insight to write about. Mostly I'm just glad I get to clunk around in my meat-mech for a little while longer; I like to think that maybe something good can come of me being here, even if I don't know what it is yet. I might be strange and unusual, and being myself is a pretty lonely experience almost all the time. But I think maybe there are folks I can help, and maybe that's reason enough to keep moving forward.
Hey, Sephiroth? I know you've made a lot of mistakes, but I hope that you understand that something very good has come about from you being here. I'm here because you're here, you know. Your existence gives me the strength to carry on even when really weird things happen. Your kindness and gentleness are what inspired me to become someone who is both soft and resilient. And I'm sure you've inspired millions of other people in my world in a similar way. So... please don't ever think your existence is a bad thing, okay? Because you are a good thing. You are a good thing. You are a good thing. And with that knowledge, please keep moving forward, as best as you can. I'll be cheering for you to do kind, gentle, and loving things.
I love you so much; you really have no idea. So please stay safe out there, okay? I'll write again soon.
Your friend, Lumine

Top 10 most significant moments in Paris' life:
choose ten moments within your muses' life - moments that have impacted them the most - and explain why. moments can be good, bad, or both
tagging: @stygicniron @soulgathered @twistedtangledfate @stardustedstories
10. Competing over Antheus - Not so much a single moment, this, but it culminates in Antheus choosing Deiphobus over him (since I'm certainly not going to go with the "accidental killing" end of this), which is one. It's also certainly the first moment he gains some understanding that he might not be enough (especially to other men) in himself, to always win out. Too, that the things he fails to live up to might have more effect than he'd already figured out, up until this point. It makes him a lot more hesitant making the first move when it comes to men from this point out.
9. Bullfighting with Ares - Who knew innocently and cheerfully throwing your best bull at all and sundry and declaring that anyone's bull that can beat his will be given the golden crown he's crowning his own bull with would draw divine attention?? Paris is completely unprepared for the strange bull to turn into Ares, yes, but the fact that it does go as well as it does is undoubtedly part of why he has such faith in general, later.
8. Falling out with Oenone - She's his first (he's done other things both with Oenone and other nymphs before he has actual PiV sex with Oenone, but still), and before their relationship grew as strained as it did, Paris did have vague assumptions that she would Be It. You don't usually get involved with a nymph seriously and not marry her, after all. But their expectations and needs are vastly different, which culminates in a last argument just before the Judgement, and an informal break-up.
7. His first kiss - A revelation, of a sorts, really. Foundational, certainly. Relatively innocent as kisses go, but he did get said kiss from a nymph, which means there was no mutual awkward fumbling around; Paris got the gift of kissing someone experienced and quickly learned from there. (Like the Judgement and choosing Aphrodite might be described as "confirming who he already is by confirming who he will be", his first kiss is finding out and reaffirming that finding out.)
6. The Achaeans landing at Troy - Up until the Achaean fleet appear on the horizon and basically flatten Tenedos, Paris did rather and fully believe that they were safe. Not that he hadn't done anything wrong (breaking xenia and committing adultery and running off with someone else's wife is definitely several wrongs!), but rather that, since it was a result of the Judgement, and he'd been ordered by Zeus himself to adjudicate, he had indeed believed that any results from that were divinely sanctioned and would be protected as such. The Achaean fleet hitting the wrong city during their first attempt and then being scattered by a storm only reconfirmed his belief. This is the moment that belief is proven wrong.
5. Reunited with his Trojan family - The moment that changes everything for the first time in Paris' life (as far as he's aware, anyway). If I'd go with the funeral games version when he's sixteen, it'd be even more shocking in a way. As my default is that he's ten and slightly less dramatic, it's still something that upends everything.
4. Aphrodite gifting him a lyre - Could also use the first time she rescues him during the war, they would mean about the same. But the point here is, it's not just a reconfirmation of what relationship they've been building post-Judgement, but something unconnected to the Judgement and Helen. It's not something she needs to do, and that makes it mean so much more to him.
3. The first time Hektor insults him - I'm cheating and including what's two separated instances; the first time Hektor called him 'Duspari', and the first time the wish he'd never been born/had died before he could cause trouble is uttered. (I wouldn't think the instances in the Iliad are the first one, but especially the death wishes are probably far, far more rare that calling Paris 'Duspari'.) It's a moment where the frustrated depths of Hektor's anger becomes unavoidably clear, and sure, it doesn't mean he's tossed out/killed/etc, either the first time or any time after it, but it shakes something that had been something of a foundation in Paris' relationship to his biological family in general, and Hektor in specific.
2. Meeting Helen - sorry Helen this must end up at second place dfhbdfjd Kind of a given, I think. Aphrodite has of course described her in whatever way before Paris lays eyes on her and their gazes meet, but - this is The Moment. The singular moment that cements his willingness to go through with what he must do to gain what Aphrodite has promised him and to keep refusing to give Helen back.
1.The Judgement - A sublime, utterly terrifying moment of death-certainty and breathless awe. He sees too much, is offered too much; can't refuse and can't leave and simply has to do what he's told and take what he most wants. What makes it worth it is the moment with Aphrodite, completely aside the gift she offers.

okay so I finally finished the terror and I don't understand why I was so surprised with everyone's death. they've been dead since the beginning ect and it's a historical event and it's been known. also for some reason I was convicted there was second season and kept wondering what it'll be about since everything was pretty much resolved.
I wish I could see what happened after the men left the camp. why did Little have all this shit in his face? did he do that to himself? did someone? it was heartbreaking hearing Francis talk about how he knew Edward and that he would come to rescue him. turns out he really did know him but he didn't understand the crew. and now he will never know how he wanted to but couldn't.
my man Goodsir kept class to the very end and however I was sad to see him go I'm glad it was that way. probably one of, if not the best death in the whole series.
Hickey's arrogance astonished me. did he seriously think that tongue offering would spare him or make him develop a relationship with it like it had with Silna, girl prophet, brought into the world with intention of being its keeper? I also don't understand why and how he got so many men chained up. they could've easily overthrown him and the monster probably didn't need as much helpless victims to attack. it's not a critique of terror, more of a curious question. was that his wit? charisma? manipulation?
I wonder if being alive is the best option for Francis. living with the weight of the whole world on your shoulders and body count lurking in the background, hundred men dead because of him, at least partly.
in my last message I should've been more precise. I was thinking if eating meat riddled with every known disease and some extra ones was better than not eating at all. all the possible puking and shitting considered, it could have went even worse than starving.
also, I really haven't considered it like that. that they can't ever go home back to civilized society because of the things they've done. probably because if my husband came home from arctic expedition and said "I had to eat human meat to survive but they were dead already I prommy" I would be like that's nice honey i don't mind. I find it kind of tragic that the most suicidal of them was the only one who survived. "I survived Franklin's doomed expedition and all I got was this stupid fucking seal fur".
okay, that's all. also fun fact, Silna means strong in polish though i doubt it has any connection. thank you for indulging me for the past couple of days.
MAN i get that though. i watched it the first time like, "hmm, maybe somebody other than just the one guy will survive". and somehow every subsequent watch i still manage to be surprised when only one person survives, in spite of the fact that... they are in fact dead and gone. but somehow that is the appeal of Foregone Conclusion Media, thinking "but maybe THIS TIME! they will survive their ordeal!"
with little specifically the... slightly boring historical answer was actually that the local inuktitut people said when they were interviewed that there were bodies that were Like That at the uh. they euphemistically called them "hospital camps" (and there were several of them along the way south to back's inlet). in the show i feel like it's a reference back to little saying that if they get out then the men deserve all the gold there is. and then in his completely addled half-dead mind, that turns itself into "if i do this to myself then that will summon rescue. somehow. because it's gold."
with hickey... he really just knows how to pick people. i think that's all it is; everybody in his little Crew are in some way the most vulnerable people there. either that or he Has Something on them. apart from des voeux, i have no idea what he's doing there but he doesn't always look like he knows why he's there either. just there like "well it would be awkward to leave now."
with the chains specifically i think there's the crab bucket mentality/just "we're at the depths of desperation so why bother trying to find a ladder?" but also hickey has shown himself repeatedly to be capable of absolutely dreadful things so there's probably a little concern about being trapped out there with him. like he killed irving and stole his coat and was about to torture hodgson when goodsir wouldn't butcher the man that he killed.
and, as hodgson explains it, "i'm hungry. i'm hungry, and i want to live." which, in conjunction with the fact that hodgson says that he isn't a brave man... really gets to me. since he's a lieutenant that makes him basically the one who has sunk down the furthest in the eyes of Polite Society back home. he would, if he somehow made it back home, be both utterly traumatised and faced with absolutely no sympathy. because he abandoned his men, his captain, his first lieutenant, for a mutineer. and then did cannibalism. but he still wants to live. right until the end. [rending my clothes and wailing]
billy was so utterly blinded by whatever the hell it was he felt for hickey that he would not have been able to look away from him. like even though he basically hated him by the time they set off they did... have something for each other in some really weird way. hickey has tears in his eyes when he kills him but he still kills him. :(
manson is extremely suggestible and also hickey had basically saved him from getting executed earlier in the show (when manson wouldn't go into the dead room -- he raised his hand to hit irving and irving would have been... not necessarily within his rights but within the letter of the law to have him executed). armitage he also has something on because him not shopping armitage out about kidnapping silna saved him from getting beaten up.
hodgson is... kind of a more complicated one because his situation more relies on The Cowardice Of It. all three of crozier's lieutenants are very close, and then hickey bumps off one of them. and then at his trial they're interrupted by The Monster (which could happen to any of us really). hodgson, instead of staying to fight, runs the other way and the person that picks him up is the mutineer who killed his friend. and at that point you, uh, you can't really go Back. (and the cannibalism cements that; you're bound to each other now because you've done That.)
and tozer. man that guy has been through it and hickey identified it... really early on (just after heather got his skull ripped off). the marines were essentially in a position where they would only be friends with each other and the officers because that was who they were there to protect. you don't get too pally with the men because if they mutiny then you might have to shoot them. but then when there aren't any marines left then there aren't really many other options open to him. add to that what happened to heather at the carnival and uh. trauma bonding innit.
and thank you so much for sending me Your Thoughts! i have thoroughly enjoyed it and your perspectives on The World's Worst Cruise. (and thank you for the Silna Fact; i love that.)

I want to offer a different perspective: Eggman loving Sage doesn't make him any less of a cruel evil monster. Plenty of REAL-LIFE dictators, terrorists, mob bosses, and other horribly cruel men had friends or family who they cared about - despite ruthlessly murdering anyone who stood in the way of their ambitions. Even if Eggman's #1 Dad now, he's still the guy who's willing to nuke cities, use sentient aliens as literal fuel, and try as hard as he can to end Sonic's miserable existence.
Yeah I know. I've even made sure to emphasize that point with my Casino AU Eggman, who actually does have the ability to genuinely care and love people in rare exceptions, but he also does many terrible crimes and is still very much a monster for the things he'll do. I actually can find the concept interesting, for a character to seem nice and loving and caring towards one person but a cold, heartless, murderous bastard to others. I can love it, even.
But that Eggman is alternate universe one for a reason, with it being one of the biggest differences with game canon Eggman. The reason I chose it and it works for Casino Egg is because I created him that way, so it makes more sense when he does. But game canon Eggman clearly wasn't, he's described as without a thought for anyone else, only does things with what's in it for him in mind, and he's deeply egotistical and selfish, it's his whole thing.
When selfishness and self centeredness is a powerful core trait that shows in everything he does, it makes him seem much too stubborn and unable for that development to ever work. I just can't feel that anybody could ever talk him into it/change him, let alone come to that conclusion on his own. It's not an impactful change because of how unrealistic and wrong it feels. Character development shouldn't erase such important core aspects like that.
After 30+ years with no blatant hinting towards it, it feels incredibly sudden and forced because they've made it obvious for so long that the selfishness and self centeredness runs deep in everything he does. It's one of the main reasons why he's evil and wants to take over the world. He wasn't shown to have the empathy to give a damn about anyone, in fact quite the opposite. Leaving it that long trying to suddenly change it decades later doesn't make sense.
It feels far too contradictory towards so many things he's said and done that all come to mind when I see what they've tried to turn him into and what he's always been. Yes, the point of character development can be to change things about them so it can do that but not every type of change works for every character. It feels wrong for Eggman because not only was he not designed to have that ability but they also didn't try to give it to him for decades.
I wouldn't care so much about him being some kind of a father figure if it was accurate. I still can't imagine the dynamic would be anything other than toxic because he doesn't have the care to be a good one when he's self centered and lacks empathy, or just something casual like when he calls himself Metal's dad in comics but it's casual and not presented as something seriously deep, sincere, and pure that makes him feel like a completely different person.
And with how often Eggman's evil is downplayed by fans already and he's woobified and changed heavily in fanon too to allow for cutesy stuff, I just know this is going to have another very harmful impact on his credibility for evil. It's going to make it even harder to emphasize to people how evil he is and the horrible things he's done without someone using it as a reason he's not so bad because it's always ignored and disregarded for cute stuff.
I wish it was only subtle in the story but when they act like it's some huge plot thing here he randomly suddenly genuinely cares for a creation after he's treated them so poorly for so long without a single care is weird and out of place. It feels like a lazy way to try to add sad dramatic plot point without caring about whether it suits the character at all or respect important core traits that make him who he is that they kept so faithful to for so long.
Had it been done in the right way that feels believable with the right actions and words, either with the more toxic dynamic or more casual one that isn't treated as some huge sincere thing, then I wouldn't be so upset. The best kind of character development and exploration is respecting key traits and working with them instead of taking them away- it gives it more impact and sense and takes more skill than something that feels forced and nonsensical.
Yes, some horrible people can care about someone else that much but Eggman has been far too much of an evil selfish self centered bastard lacking empathy and the ability to think or care about anyone else for too long for it to reasonably change now. Especially not when it's established as an important core trait that makes him who he is and gives reason for what he does. I just don't feel the change works like that with him in particular and it contradicts all he does and feels in a very bad way.
Also I know there's no way of telling yet but I'm kind of worried about whether they'll even keep writing him as evil as ever and keep treating him like the same guy that's done all those terrible catastrophic evil and destructive things in the games. I feel like I shouldn't get my hopes up and shouldn't be surprised if he's not treated as the big threat he's supposed to be when so many people favor the nice cute stuff over it. I'm just really worried about the impact this night have on everything else which makes me even more unhappy with it.

Classic, owl, skeleton for the spoopy asks :D
Spoopy ask game ooooooh~
Classic: What’s your favorite classic spooky movie? I could get really pedantic here like "But what do we consider a 'classic' and what is a 'spooky' movie? Indeed, what is a 'movie'?" But I'm not gonna.
I'm gonna go way back to a true classic: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari from 1920.
The German Expressionism turned up to 11, the irrational and disproportional sets, the establishment of a buncha tropes, the influence it had and still has, the visual elements, the twist ending, Conrad Veidt in a black leotard and a lot of eye makeup…!
I like a lot of spooky movies, some more spooky than others, and I could just sit here and list them, but Dr. Caligari is just so iconic and influential in so many ways.
The art museum here had a showing some years ago accompanied by a live string quartet and I desperately wish I could have gone. Alas!
Owl: What creature would you have as a familiar? This is tough! I mean, I can always fall back on the classics: cat, crow, raven, owl.
Whatever, I'm kind of basic: cat. But it would be interesting to have a hairless cat. I worked with a guy who once said that I seemed like the kind of person who'd have a hairless cat. Maybe he's right. My hairless cat familiar and me, practicing experimental chaos magic in a minimalist house all done in black and white. That's the dream.
Now, speaking of, I did have a dream about a skinny black-and-white cat (more black than white, but he had white toes) named Honk who I saw in the bay window of an old bookstore next to a sign that read "Honk is not for sale!" So if I ever find Honk (who will be adoptable, I'm sure, but not for sale), maybe he's my familiar?
Skeleton: What never fails to send a shiver down your spine?
A lack of context!!!!!!!!
Let me explain: the less context or explanation there is around an image, a sound, a video, &c, the creepier or stranger it is (to me).
This is why I get disappointed partway through basically, um, every analog horror series or internet horror creation: sooner or later, there's too much context and/or too much explanation and it destroys the mystery. It puts too much of a frame around the concept. It solidifies it. And it immediately defangs it.
Once there was all this lore that evolved around The Backrooms, they immediately stopped being interesting to me. Do I like that The Backrooms are this collaborative storytelling project? Absolutely. And I enjoy some of the things people have made in that whole concept. But they've ceased to be as eerie to me because there's all these explanations now.
One of my favorite(?) examples of no-context-horror is from just before the US-made version of The Ring came out, the "cursed video" was posted online--and it was just the cursed video. There was no context, just a series of unnerving and (seemingly) disconnected images. (It was 2002 and I remember watching it on my friend's desktop in her dorm room. We were all scaring each other with it. If you had a cell phone, you'd call your friend's dorm number right after she'd seen it lol.)
And, yes, a lot of the images are gross or disgusting unto themselves--twitching severed fingers in a box is gross. But not knowing how everything connected together made even benign images like a plain wooden chair all the more horrifying. As in, if the images will go as far as a finger jammed onto a nail, the implications of the plain wooden chair are even more horrifying.
But then you see the whole movie and it's like seriously? That's it? It was a real letdown for me. The suggestions were scarier than the facts.
And, honestly, anything that you do show can't be as horrifying as what might be shown. I don't even mean Cloverfield-style where you don't really see the monster but you know a monster is there. I mean leaving the whole thing open-ended enough that the benign becomes the terrifying. Why are weird sounds in the dark scary? Because you don't know what's out there; you can only imagine it. Or worse, you can only half-imagine it.
I think The Blair Witch Project (1999) just about managed this because they never showed the witch. You got no satisfying explanation. That made it scarier (to say nothing about the "is it real or isn't it?" marketing, as Cannibal Holocaust did back in the 70s).
Nowadays, it feels like all the found footage stuff explains too much. It's like the creators think of something for the backstory so therefore they must include it in the main plot. No, don't do that. Stop that. You have to hold some things back.
Same thing with most modern "real ghost videos." It's Too Much.
Back in the early 2000s on YouTube there were actually decent "real ghost videos" that had no context, no explanation. Some of my favorites were compilations of ghost videos and photographs from Japanese horror/ghost televsion shows--I remember the photos giving me the absolute creeps in particular. And it was because I had very little context. The language and culture barriers made everything scarier--to say nothing of the time distance, since most of the clips I was watching were from the early-mid 90s. So it was all low-quality VHS tapes and film cameras, which made it just that much harder to really parse out what you were seeing. And then when you see it, you will shit bricks.
And I think this lack of explanation is what makes Tool's video for "Sober" by Fred Stuhr so fucking disturbing. Humans like narrative and explanation right? And, yes, there's some kind of narrative here but it doesn't entirely align. There seems to be a story here but it's not clear. At one point, this human-like figure the camera has been following opens up a pipe and there's raw meat flowing through it. What does it mean? What's going on? Why is this happening? We want an explanation, in part because the raw meat is distressing unto itself, but we get nothing, which makes it more distressing than just gross-out images. (The video always reminds me vaguely of Kafka's writing, and he understood this too. See: The Trial and The Penal Colony.)
I could talk about this for hours because I really think "showing the monster" is both the escape hatch or the release valve of horror but it's also the weak point of horror. Stephen King loves to show the monster eventually in his books and I don't usually find his books all that horrifying. But Revival actually almost got me because of the creepy visions the main character experiences and the whole "Mother is behind the paper sky" line. There's not much explanation in the plot/text about this, but it's not totally unexplained. But I can tell you, the first time I hit it in the book it actually got me. And that's rare.
I think that lack of context is very hard in the, well, context of a narrative. I mean, narrative demands context. Narrative is context. So the things that get me are the rare things without much of that: the cursed video from The Ring, music videos (like "Sober"), certain kinds of visual art (Francis Bacon's early work, especially), butoh dance, early internet stories and some urban legends, ghost videos/photos that don't try too hard… Lose the context, gain the fear.
(I think this is why I like the smeared, almost-but-not-quite look of older AI art, like Midjourney v3. It's in that other uncanny valley: it should be recognizable and yet it isn't entirely right.)
Oh my gaw this went on longer than it should haaaaave...

okay i'm like a good amount of time into TOTK I'm gonna talk about it so read on at ur own risk
Right now I've got the entire overworld map filled out, I've done the Rito and Zora temples, and I have found all the Dragon Tears (including the 12th) . I don't have a lot of knowledge of spoilers rn other than like, some items that exist in the world.
I am actually enjoying it a lot right now, I feel like it's been pretty engaging trying to find the pieces of everything and follow up on little things, and just see what's changed. I feel like I've forgotten half of what the BOTW overworld looked like but the general shape is in my mind so it's been cool to run into things that feel familiar but are also fresh. It's also cool to see the progression of the world and how time has changed it, how the towns have grown, how the Upheaval affected them... With Tarry's daughter being able to like, fully talk it feels like it's been a good 5ish years since the end of the last game. But like thank fucking god characters like Paya and others that people were fucking weird about Are and Look like adults now.
NGL I might have missed why the Shiekah tech is completely gone, maybe they disassembled it for safety? But it kind of saddened me not to see any remains of it, although I get that they were going for different aesthetics with the Zonai stuff and I do really like it. In terms of it being a sequel I like the way they're going with Flesh Ganon being the main villain, which I wasn't sure I would. Calamity Ganon in retrospect seems like the First Form of the Boss since it was boar-shaped, and was only made up of the Ganon's malice/pre-gloom that seems to be what he could muster before being released by L+Z. I want to see more Ganon before I can Really formulate an opinion but it's kind of the same old Big Evil Guy… Mostly I just like the fan interpretations around the cycles of reincarnation and Ganon's rebellion being more about the Gerudo's status wrt being under Hylian rule & wish canon gave him more depth than He's the Power Guy… I have no hopes but we'll see if they surprise me. I knew Zelda wasn't going to be an actual character considering their stance on playable Zelda but I do like that she's Doing more and kind of has her own thing going on in the past similar to Skyward. They've never been super precious with putting Zelda in Situations but I REALLY like the idea of her sacrificing herself to make it back to her own time, whether that was a decision she needed to make like that or not. I think it was a little obvious it was coming but I really like her dragon form and the dragon theming in general that comes with the Zonai..... I know she's gonna be able to be saved but like can you imagine if that was it. How delicious that would be. Also think about how fucked up she's gonna be after she just had to live thru millenia. What did she see bro. But also who the fuck are the other dragons then. THE CHASM is fucking scary but I LOVE the vibes of what I've seen because it especially reminds me of Twilight Princess. Like the curly little ferns and how the roots of the trees are swirly in the same way that the ones in Faron Woods are.... And how you clear the darkness like you did the mist in Faron!!!!!! Seriously I don't give a fuck about timeline and if it's connected, I don't think it is, but I just love that they chose a similar tone. The powers you get from the temples are kind of fun it's cool to mix it up and also have some battle support lmfaooo but god do I miss Revali's Gale. Instant jump my beloved come back....
I haven't done all that much exploring all things considered. I was mostly just grabbing shrines for warp points so I'm only at 6 hearts. Also barely got items or figured out how to make any good contraptions lmfao still not sure how I should be spending Zonai charges. I want to get more into the Depths but I might finish the other 2 temples first.
ok that's it I will be playing more at work tomorrow GOOD NIGHT

Secret Crush on You ep. 13 mini review ✐∗  ˖࣪ ༻
rating 𓄷 9.5 - by far my favorite episode, and I know I say that every episode, but no, seriously, this one was it.
spotlight couple of the week 𓄷 JaoSky and TohNuea (I thought I could choose, but I really can't)
spotlight actor(s) of the week 𓄷 Billy and Seng (their relationship has skyrocketed this episode, so happy for them)
review:
Okay, was not expecting that turnout with Nuea finding out about Toh's secret memorabilia. I for sure thought they were going to make it hella corny, with Nuea jumping onto Toh to confess how horny Toh's collection made him. But no, this was done with precious timing and perfect detail, casting over our initial problem with Toh feeling like his relationship wouldn't last and Nuea reassuring him that it will. They shared a pretty hefty moment together, and I'm glad we were able to finally get a moment with them that felt vulnerable and exquisite. For once, I didn't mind that they took up most of the run time.
Sky and Jao.??????? Literally it was perfect??? and everything and more than I wanted it to be?????? Genuinely, I wasn't expecting a bed scene from Jao and Sky, cause I would've 100 percent accepted it, but the fact that we did get one, twice in one episode, is crazy. They were so soft with one another, Sky made sure to be gentle, yet he let Jao know beforehand he didn't know how much he could hold back. I have never seen such desire in Jao's eyes but it was clearly there, and gosh was it amazing. Just to see Jao even be the one to somewhat make the first move to show that he didn't mind that Sky touched him or kissed him -- urgh, it was too good. I finally feel complete with this couple, and Now Jao is not afraid to show intimacy even around his friends, God, these creators are geniuses.
A crumb and a half of Daisy and Intouch. I'm scared at this point that they'll be rushed into oblivion. Next week is the LAST episode, and we've gotten next to nothing. What I'm thinking will happen is that we'll either get a flashback to moments that they've had together off-screen while we were busy with Nuea and Toh, or they'll explain that they've been in a relationship for so time now. Either way, it'll suck because I want to follow along with o their journey, not halfway to their destination.
As much as love Kongkwan and Fong, there was no reason to have them in this series if they weren't going to do anything but give us nothing. I know they're getting their own series, but they just feel lackluster here, to the point that they are basically irrelevant. I wish we could actually see some development between the two. Instead, they're just there.
Like I thought, there was no need to add Kong into the series for the very unnecessary drama. It's so irrelevant that it makes me angry. It does nothing to destroy Nuea and Toh, Toh doesn't think any less of himself because of it, and it's just pure stupidity. With the time they took out to introduce this conflict they could've used it for our two other relationships that have zero development.
They didn't show any Daisy and Touch for the next episode and so now I'm a bit nervous. Again, they most likely are going to have a secret relationship, because, at this point, it would be absurd to have them get together in the one episode we have left. Either that or they're friends with benefits since Touch isn't afraid to say some flirty shit out of the blue.
Until next week folks. Can't believe it'll be the last. :(

final thoughts: supernatural season 3
GREAT SEASON. i was surprised that it only had 16 episodes, but apparently it was because of the writers strike in 2007-2008? so that makes more sense. also i kinda like the vague poetry of the season being cut short, it very much parallels dean's life getting cut short lmao
i am a BIG fan of the winchesters dying, so between mystery spot and the finale, this season was a delight for me. death in supernatural is such a unique experience, so it's fun to pick apart the emotional weight and the significance of each death. this isn't particularly a new thought for me, but i like that death isn't exactly an "end" in spn; it is just another stage of existence, one from which anyone has the potential to return. obviously this "anyone" only really extends to the winchesters, but their plot armor is something i actually find gives this show a lot of its charm. it's similar to how i feel about death in homestuck, and the in-universe culture surrounding death in both shows is distorted appropriately to ignore its finality and treat it much differently from other stories.
actually on the topic of mystery spot though, i found those 6 retconned months to be peculiar. it ignored the existence of ruby and lilith and everything else going on around hurricane winchester, and while i'm sure it was for time slot reasons, it really has stuck in my mind. if ruby is so hellbent on training up sam to defeat lilith, then why wouldn't she contact him when he's at his lowest to manipulate him accordingly, just like she tried in the finale? the fact that sam is effectively left alone during those 6 months is very weird to me. this is definitely one of those things that make me dislike episodic storytelling, since the story has to be "reset" by the end of the episode in order to start a new A plot come the next one. it would have been nice to see the more realistic ramifications of dean's death in mystery spot a la ruby and her plans, especially knowing that this is exactly what she does with sam during dean's vacation in hell.
i do wish henricksen hadn't died at the end of jus in bello. not that i think it was a bad decision, but something i find nice in charmed is that the sisters always have someone within law enforcement to help cover their tracks. i think henricksen would have fit into that spot really nicely, since he seems to think very much like dean and i think they could have gotten along. with as many run-ins with the cops as they've had up to now, they could use a little help on the inside. because lord, this show makes me hate cops more than i did before with how aggressive and idiotic they are. shoot first ask questions never—yeah, seriously. anyway i don't dislike the direction they took with henricksen, but it could have been an interesting avenue to explore, since there's a template with charmed already. also i just started liking henricksen. i wasn't done with him yet okay. what if he lived and became a hunter. what if he worked alongside them. literally so much potential for this man and now he's dead.
but speaking of jus in bello: the end of the episode proved that ruby had the better plan, and still dean refused to even hear her out when she appeared in the finale. it's in character for him, but that kind of thing is a little grating, especially when that wasn't actually brought up as a counter in the episode. it felt a little disjointed, and so i guess it made me pull a face since we are 0 for 1 in the winchesters vs lilith battle up to this point. it's been made clear that "the way dad taught us" isn't exactly working out for them, so you would think that would at least be thrown back in dean's face. dean's insistence on clinging to john's style has a body count, yet he won't even entertain anything else.
the sudden about-face dean makes halfway through the episode doesn't exactly make much sense either, tbh. at least this is addressed, but i still find it odd. i guess it's another example of dean's toxic machismo and refusal to listen to anyone around him coming out to play? the finale is absolutely a shining display of dean making horrible decisions and paying dearly for them. if that was the intention, then they did that well. it's a pretty strong core of his character though, so i don't really take issue with it.
anyway i don't have too much else to say. i guess i was a little disappointed that there weren't actually all that many demon enemies in the episodes? i do love the variety, and they had great monsters this season honestly, but i was expecting demons to play a much stronger antagonistic role than they actually did this season. also it's a crying shame that dean never really learned much in the end from his time with casey in sin city; he's a little thick-headed lmao.
but yeah overall i thought it was a great season. i have much fewer criticisms with s3 than i did with s2, and i'm happy that most of their weird kinks got sorted out this season. i'm SUPER excited to finally get to castiel too :D i really liked his character! and it means i'm just one season away from crowley, too. i am pumped up :)

Rusty and the Boulder and/or Rusty to the Rescue?
Thanks for giving two options—that's really considerate!
I'm gonna go for the second one. Of "Rusty and the Boulder," all I can say is that the best part is the ending. (That's one of my all-time favorite roasts, but in this case it's meant literally and neutrally. The Fat Controller, after an entire season of expanding and building new "attractions" every five episodes, turning his back on his latest project and musing "we should have never built on this part of the island"... that was quality stuff. 👌 Everything else I'd sooner wipe from my memory.)
Man, "Rusty to the Rescue" is definitely that episode where ignorance is bliss. For the most part, The Lore has enhanced my enjoyment of the early TTTE stories .
This is one of the few notable, shining exceptions. I wish I could un-know all the ways in which this episode makes no sense.
Coz, for all its inaccuracies... it IS the standout episode of season 4. It's stunning. If you let an RWS preference take this one away from you, then what's left as far as season 4 highlights? What else holds a candle to the intrigue and visuals and vibes in "Rescue": "Granpuff"? "Rock n' Roll"? "Special Funnel"?... I mean those episodes are all beautifully done but none of them alone could make this season iconic.
So. We just gotta shut down our rational brains and allow ourselves to love "Rescue"... which was no hardship at all, when I was a kid. S4 was where the show felt like it was growing the beard—all the suggestions of lore and history and backstory, all the new threats and dangers, the mingling of old characters with new characters who felt so different—and nowhere was that feeling stronger than here. This episode was KING.
Why do I keep using past tense? I may not be able to accept it as canon, but it still slaps.
Tumblr media
"... a lonely part of the island where only the diesels went."
I rewound and watched this scene a thousand times. I wanted more content of this setting so badly.
"lol it's just Barrow" isn't really cutting it, sorry... too much realism, not nearly enough cool-ism
backing up and doing the highlight reel...
---------------------------------------------
"I don't know. But I soon will!"
Penalizing it imaginary points right off the bat for an obligatory Thomas appearance that does nothing to help the coherence of this story. (Seems to be a "kindly hero baton pass" interaction? Like I see their reasoning but I wish I was their editor and could smite it out.)
Also, even as an American city kid, knowing nothing about RWS (or anything really), this whole plot device of Rusty taking it upon themselves to help some line solve their locomotive crisis by finding a "bluebell engine" just didn't really made sense. So random.
The Awdrys already missed the boat on the idea of the Sodor engines actively seeking out refugees to help (a. huge. loss! coz they would have!!); here Britt had a second chance at it and she swung and missed even more wildly, I think. I just wish the motives here had been different. There's something so incongruous about an engine being all "lol we need a tourist engine lol i'll go steal one from the scrapyard ig lol then i'll forget about all the others there forever... lol."
All this said, I also loved this opening for its Rusty characterisation? The standout character in S4, and RWS!Rusty, while a good sort, really can't quite compete with the TVS!Rusty who cheeks off Harold and who poses as a Shed and Sidings Inspection Diesel. Loved how Rusty is shown to already be comfortable with several different standard-gauge engines. Loved Rusty asking Driver what was wrong. Loved Rusty's good-natured laughter. Even Rusty's apparent detachment from the seriousness of the mission is endearing. Weird, of course... but I like weird.
Even today, I can't really dismiss Rusty as "too perfect" or anything. They've got such a strong sense of personality. They/them version of Plucky Girl trope, mostly. Smart, too. With a huge dose of poise. So self-possessed! You have no choice but to stan!
Tumblr media
"So that's where I'll go."
Pretty blatant how it's piggybacking off its most spectacular S3 episode... but also really clever. Gotta give it up. Props.
Also, I do now appreciate that, though they butchered the Stepney book to hell and back (let's be honest, most of the Stepney book is too painfully "edutainment-like" anyway, I don't mind them taking a hatchet to it and trying something better) they put in a nod to the original "Bluebells of England" scene by having Douglas and Percy here. (They have these two next to each other again in the next ep, when Stepney arrives at the Big Station.)
Also, funny as hell how Douglas and Percy are (reasonably) upset/borderline freaking out and Rusty's just doing their whole "indomitable pluck" thing. Rusty is a few pistons short of a full... um... something engineering something.
Tumblr media
"But it was only the sounds of the lonely scrapyard."
We've had a million "scary smelter" episodes after this. But was this scrapyard shot ever really beaten? I challenge anyone to find an image more atmospheric than this one! ^
Tumblr media
"Diesels, silent and still, lined up on guard."
This was so. freaking. scary? Doesn't help that they're all clearly clones of Known Characters. Or maybe all our diesel friends have a second, sinister life? Maybe they only pretend to like their steam engine coworkers? (These were my thoughts as a kid. Yes, I've always been good at freaking myself out. You barely had to work, to frighten me.)
Their scary "collective voice" didn't help at. all.
Great stuff. Fascinating. One of my kids screamed and ran out of the room their first viewing. 10/10 scene.
Tumblr media
"Then I'll just go and inspect!"
Here my liege 👑 👑👑 you dropped these 👑👑👑
Tumblr media
"A small engine with a tall funnel stood sad and alone in the shadowy siding. His driver was huddled in the cab, keeping him company."
The content here is heartwarming but I always had to laugh at the bizarre visual of him with his casual pose and dopey smile. Man looks like he's having a right cosy time and feelin' no pain!
Tumblr media
"Do you like bluebells?"
Okay, but that "predator PoV" shot is brilliant. Geez.
Also, gotta level with ya—as a kid, I thought that trash on Step's left lamp iron was the head of a toy horse? I don't know why?? I never did get it???
It just went in the same pile as "all the weird-ass details in this story that don't make sense but that intrigue one so."
Definitely well-done that they stay pretty consistent in this episode with a separate narrow-gauge track for Rusty...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Everyone worked fast."
🙄
Tho it's not like us RWS purists can blame the adaptation for the idea that abandoned, rusting steam engines just fire up from cold at the speed of plot...
Also, I LOVE any time the model series shows a glowing firebox. It's always worth standing up and applauding.
"Where is HE going?"
EDGE. OF. SEAT. STUFF.
Also, Rusty's response is made of win.
Tumblr media
"Mission accomplished!"
Okay, there was ONE exception to the separate narrow-gauge track. But I think we can all agree it was an acceptable omission here for the sake of the shot. 😍
---------------------------------------------
Obviously, the night-time scene is the show-stealer. But the ending ain't bad, either. Nothing too special, but not bad.
Rusty and Stepney both stood out in S4 as new characters who were so... unproblematic? no learning curve, no issues? They could just get on with things, do useful stuff, have adventures?
I feel Rusty wore this better than Stepney (probably due to all of Step's fanfare; it felt a bit much... no wonder Thomas was jealous, lol; it felt very New Series Thomasesque), but still, for this season? It worked. It was really refreshing after some of the spinning wheels and already-getting-overdone character cliches of S3.
At some point, however, the TVS giving us characters that didn't follow the "karma kicks you in the teeth" intro arc definitely contributed to the show losing the glorious edge that it had inherited from RWS.
Then again, I'm not gonna blame S4 Rusty for this. I don't get the impression that S6 and beyond took any cues from S4. They probably would have gone down that tamer path anyway.
So I can say without reservation: all hail the little maintenance diesel who is the coolest Almighty Janitor in any iteration of TTTE canon!
As for this episode, while it's an often-awkward cut-and-remix job that doesn't succeed at the too-many goals it set for itself, I think I can forgive anything for the shed-and-sidings inspection scene. 🧡💛
Also, based on this story alone, I could understand someone preferring TVS canon (at least the Classic Series or even the whole model era) to RWS canon. I don't feel that way myself but I definitely understand. They should have kept digging into the TVS-only lore of these early seasons—it's way cooler than literally everything about the Brenner era. Screw "railway realism" and "RWS fanservice"! Who needs that stuff when you can have random haunted lines, gravity-defying guardian boulders, and scary diesel-guarded scrapyards?

The timeline of this chiffany back story in the show is very confusing. I find it hard to believe they were in Chicago less than a year before chucky was coined the lakeshore stranger and eventually caught. I seriously would've thought they loved there together for at least a few years before that, and he was killing people. Also, where's the voodoo paintings on the wall in his apartment we saw in the first movie? These continuity errors are making me crazy lol. Also tiffany always said that chucky was protective/possessive of her and I ain't seen any of that lol. & she said they lived together for a few years. Less than a year is a few years now? Don please watch what you make for the love of God, or at least reference a Wikipedia page or cliff notes for fucks sake. These things just seem so basic & simple to me. Jfc! I'm grateful for what we have and don't mean to be a bitch but lord.
Literally though!! I 10000% agree with everything you said. I worry that don is backtracking on Chucky and Tiffany's relationship so that way its easier in canon to have them end up separating for good (with chucky killing tiffany again for some reason and then she stays away from him for good). Its just so weird for him to backtrack on their relationship when, like you pointed out, they lived together for years and how he was so possessive. They so clearly loved each other in Bride and Seed, even with all their problems aside, and even at the end of Cult, so why would Don want to completely change that? Its like... everyone has been wanting flashbacks of them for years and we have seen no real development between them at all in those flashbacks, just them killing together and tiffany being upset he stopped killing with her, like thats it? 🤨 i think my whole problem with it is like... yes, we've established they both like killing and thats their thing and they both love doing it, but is that all they really have going for each other? Just their love of killing? Nothing more? It just seems so one-sided and, dare i say, one dimensional. Chucky when he was human seemed to be a killer on the side but also a thief in order to make money without ever having to work, because lets be real, that would never work out for him, lol. With how much killing he's been doing and with Tiffany too, you would think they both would have been caught and WAY sooner. And instead he was caught for kidnapping sarah?? Like what?
And from interviews I've seen with Brad and Jen, they definitely seem to have a better idea on what Chucky and Tiffany's relationship should be. I'd have to go back and rewatch the interviews they've done over the years, but apparently, the recent one I've seen for the show, both Brad and Jennifer were surprised by the changes made to the characters in the show. Which to me is not a good sign. Retconning the voodoo aspect in Bride (with the Heart of Damballah) i could totally get passed, and throwing Jennifer into the series was probably the best thing Don could have added, and that's why Bride and Seed will always be in my top 3 favorites of the series for that reason. The show has done an amazing job with representation, with the character development of each of the main human characters, and basically on every other front except for Chucky and Tiffany. I dont think im alone in thinking that. I love the show for all those other aspects but i just wish the backstories were done better and the relationship was done better, and their characters overall.

Part 3! This is the last part, containing Beel and Belphie's sections below the cut. Please enjoy~
Part 1 | Part 2
~
Beelzebub:
Things were peaceful with the pregnancy for a while.
Even in the beginning, when MC was barely showing and faced very little issues, the sixth brother was waiting on her hand and foot
And he almost always had a smile on his face. He was just insanely happy about becoming a dad, about having a baby with MC.
He handled every thing more or less with stride.
When she started showing and the woman felt self-conscious about the fact that she was losing her figure, he'd hold her close and kiss her, telling how beautiful she was, that the belly she was growing made her no less so. In fact, it made her even more beautiful because to him, what her body was doing was a beautiful thing: growing and carrying his child, something that meant the world to him.
Yeah, he was a bit anxious about how things would go since Lucifer told them the pregnancy could become dangerous for her, but he was still truly happy for the two of them to become parents.
Unlike his siblings in the other timelines, Beel had no fears about how he'll be as a dad; he knew he had so much love to give their son or daughter and was ready to give it.
It wasn't until MC's fourth month when some concerns were raised.
MC's belly had grew at an unusual rate. Despite just entering her fourth month, her belly was roughly the size of what it should be in her sixth or even seventh month of pregnancy, according to Satan.
Beel didn't really know anything specific about pregnancy so he didn't see it as anything to worry about. I mean, he was the Avatar of Gluttony and this was his baby. MC developed quite the appetite because of this and was eating at least twice more than she used to. Surely that's all this was? And if so, the man couldn't see it as anything dangerous, at least.
Still, MC's anxiety grew over it, causing him talk over it more with the blonde to figure out if there was anything he could do for her.
And so the time came; the rune! Satan drew the rune over the human's belly to collect the data they needed.
After a minute or two of absorbing the data, the blonde raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?" MC asked.
"It... well, I suppose for a start, Beel is correct that his sin is part of the reason for the growth spurt." Satan began. "But only partly."
Beel leaned towards his brother, listening closely.
"However, there are some more difficult elements at play here." The fourth brother continued. "The most pressing being... the number."
"I... what?" The woman stared at the demon in front of her.
"It seems you two are having twins. Two girls, in fact."
Beel immediately pulled MC in for a hug. The woman cried heavy tears, but they were paired with a smile. The big guy teared up as well.
"Twins. Beely, we're having two little girls." She said from inside his arms.
"I know." The man pulled back and gave her a sweet kiss before laying both hands on her belly. "Our little girls--"
"I hate to interrupt," The Avatar of Wrath said, but of course, did so anyway. "But... do either of you realize the danger this poses to any degree?"
Beel turned back to his brother, furrowing his brow.
Satan sighed.
"Beel... one baby was going to be rough on her body, but two?" He pointed out. "Honestly Beel, she'll likely be eating at least as much as you, if not more, and that still might not be enough for her body. It's manageable now, but once she enters the last trimester, it'll be very difficult to keep two gluttony demon children fed as well as the mother they're siphoning nutrition off of faster than she can get it."
Basically, MC was going to be eating an extreme amount of food and still literally be starving. That's how Beel understood it at least.
The man looked at his girlfriend and frowned in worry. He hated feeling hungry and didn't wish that on his Muffin, but knew she'll end up feeling even worse than that.
"Is there anything I can do for her now?" The redhead asked.
"Right now... all we can do is stock up and hope for the best." The blonde answered. "Lucifer should probably be informed so things can be planned out."
And so he did. He walked his girlfriend to their bedroom so she could lie down for a bit while he went to Lucifer's study to inform him. The older brother was instantly stressed out, but let out a sigh and told him that he'll handle it.
Lucifer did warn Beel though that he probably won't be able to eat as much as he's used to because of this. The Avatar of Gluttony only nodded. If he had to go hungry to keep MC fed and alive then so be it. It was worth it to him.
As the months went by, Satan's predictions were proven true. By half way through her seventh month, MC was bedridden. Her belly had grown so big that she literally could not get out of bed on her own.
The woman was never alone though. She constantly had either Beel or Belphie or both with her to bring her food or carry her to the bathroom or cuddle her so she didn't get lonely.
What was equally as worrisome as her gravid boulder of a belly was the rest of her. The woman had lost so much weight in her thighs, arms, and face that she looked like she's been starved for years.
Each touch of Beel's was extra gentle because his girlfriend looked so fragile like this. He was afraid to hurt her even more, especially because of their girls' kicks.
The twins had inherited their daddy's strength. Occasionally, one or both of them would kick their mama a bit too hard, causing a bruise to form on her belly.
This led to lots of belly time. Beel would kiss and rub his Muffin's belly while talking to his girls, telling them how loved they are, but how they need to be more gentle with their mama.
Despite how difficult the situation was, both Beel and MC kept positive, smiling through it. After all, this was all for their little girls so of course it was worth it.
Good End:
Oh this poor woman. It took ten months of pregnancy, being a full month over due, but her twins were finally ready to come out into the world and meet their parents.
It was a long twelve hours for the couple; after all, these were two very big, overdue demon babies of gluttony being pushed out by a mom they've seriously weakened for months now. Yet despite the odds, both Mama and babies made it out okay.
Beel kissed his girlfriend's head and watched as she fed their girls. Their girls. This was really happening. Beel was a daddy. His sweet Muffin was a mama and those sweet girls feeding from her chest were their daughters, sporting his hair, eye color, horns, even delicate versions of his wings, but still had all of their mother's facial features. They were identical, unlike him and Belphie, but the demon truly hoped the two could forge just as strong of a bond together as he had with his twin.
When the two were done drinking, Beel took the one from MC's left arm and brought her into his own. Just then, a knock came to the door and it clicked open to reveal Belphie, who Beel texted a few minutes ago; he wanted his twin to be the very first one to see his daughters.
The couple smiled at him.
"Belphie, come see them." MC invited him to come closer.
The seventh brother approached the bed and gave a small smile.
"So... whose who?"
MC looked up to Beel, letting her boyfriend introduce them. The man smiled.
"This is Arsenia." The redhead stared down at the little girl in his arms, kissing her head before looking to the one in MC's arms. "And right there is Anais."
The three talked for a bit and watched the babies before MC needed to sleep. Beel laid the twins in their cribs before giving his Muffin a quick kiss on her head.
"Sweet dreams, Muffin. Thank you for everything." He smiled.
Bad End:
Twelve hours. Twelve hours of labor that seemed like it was going no where. The first baby was barely even crowning after all this time and MC was losing what remained of her strength. The woman honestly didn't know how much more she could take.
Beel felt so helpless as he watched her struggle. He was so hyperfocused on his Muffin that he hadn't even thought of food once during these twelve hours and even a non gluttony demon would be getting hungry right then.
It took another hour, but MC eventually got the head out and then the shoulders. But that was it. That was as far as she made it. She had lost the last of her strength and just... faded away at that moment. Beel couldn't accept it at first and just kept calling her name and shaking her shoulder, begging her to wake up. But she didn't. The man let out a howl of pain before collapsing on his knees in sobs. He cried for a minute before remembering his girls.
Beel quickly shot up and freed the first baby, Arsenia, from her mother's body. Anais... Anais, he never got to save. They never knew it, but the cord had been wrapped around her neck for most of the labor and she left them before even MC did.
And just like that, the Avatar of Gluttony lost his Muffin and one of his daughters. As he held tightly to Arsenia though, he vowed that he would never, ever let any harm come to her.
Beel was a loving, but fiercely protective father. His daughter handled it in stride for the first twelve years of her life, but after that, grew to really resent him. He never let her truly live her life. By fifteen, she actually ran away to the Human realm in search of what was left of her mother's side of the family, leaving a note saying that she couldn't handle him suffocating her anymore. Arsenia had succeeded in finding her grandma and Lucifer convinced Beel to just let her be for a few days. Then he came to get her and the two had a heart to heart talk.
The man didn't know how he could grow to let go more; all he knew was his fear. This was his daughter. His worse nightmare was losing her just like he did with MC and Anais. But he knew if he didn't learn then he was just going to lose her in another way. The man just didn't know what to do anymore. Not without MC, who kept him grounded. Not without MC, who he sees everytime he looks at his daughter's face. And so he was stuck feeling desperate and lost and just wanting his daughter to understand him and be happy.
Belphegor:
After the two's three month fight, Belphie was dedicated to taking care of MC.
He was an ass to her when he found out of she was pregnant and he knew it, never even denied it, but it came from a place of fear and love for his human.
Seeing just how important this baby was to her though... it was enough for him to bury his fear deep inside of himself for her. He had to; she needed him and he was not going to abandon her again.
Her second trimester was... well, let's just say he stepped in to support her at just the right time.
MC was always so exhausted and went through her days in almost a daze.
She even passed out at the dinner table one evening, face falling straight onto her plate.
Normally, the Avatar of Sloth would find this funny, but the pregnancy had him on edge.
She woke up fairly easily though. Just a couple shakes of her shoulder and the woman was lifting her head, wondering why there was mashed potatoes in her hair.
That was enough for him though. Belphie picked his girlfriend up and carried her to his room. He cleaned the food out of her hair before laying her back on the bed.
"I'm sorry..." She mumbled.
"Don't apologize, Butthead." He said softly, pulling her to his chest.
He knew she couldn't help it. In general, pregnancy could be tiring, but when the baby daddy is the literal Avatar of Sloth? Yeah, that made things harder.
The human fell asleep, barely staying conscious long enough to hear his response.
Belphie leaned in and kissed her forehead.
Even after such an early bed time, MC didn't wake up in the morning. Or the afternoon. Belphie was tense as hell, but tried to be patient.
Around 3pm, after sleeping for about twenty hours straight, the man tried shaking his girlfriend awake. But she wouldn't.
Belphie started freaking out and shaking her harder. She still wouldn't wake up.
He had to triple check that she was alive. And she was; the woman still breathed slow, sleepy breaths and had a calm pulse like any sleeping person would.
But she wasn't waking up? Why?
At some point, the younger brother wasn't sure when, but Beel had gotten up and rushed to Lucifer.
The oldest brother put a hand on his youngest brother's shoulder, stopping him from shaking the human anymore.
Belphie instantly shook the oldest off and gave him a glare.
"Stop, she's not waking up!"
"Shaking her is not going to help the situation."
Belphie was frustrated with the Avatar of Pride, but knew he was right. But what else could he do?
Lucifer did most of the talking with Beel after that. The two went back and forth on different things as Belphie simply held his girlfriend close.
Eventually, the two left the room and came back with Satan, book in hand. Belphie growled as the blonde approached the bed.
Satan sighed.
"Enough with that. I believe I know a way to figure out the problem."
And with that, the fourth brother explained step by step everything he was going to do.
The boyfriend scowled, but let the blonde do what he needed to do.
Satan opened his book and laid it on the bed. He gave a glance at the page before pulling down the blanket and raising up the woman's shirt.
Belphie growled again, but stopped as Beel laid a hand on his arm. The man then took a deep breath and just sat up, watching the blonde's movements carefully as he guarded his girlfriend. Yeah, Satan was his brother, but more importantly, that was his girlfriend the blonde was messing with. Whatever he does, he better be gentle.
The three other men watched as the Avatar of Wrath drew a rune around MC's navel. The woman stirred, making some noises in her sleep, but didn't awake.
When the blonde finished the rune, it glowed a very bright purple. The fourth brother raised an eyebrow at this.
"It's... not supposed to do that." The blonde picked up his book, rereading the passage once more.
"What did you do?" Belphie immediately jumps to the worse scenarios.
Satan waved off his words and continued to read the passage.
"It's suppose to glow green since I am the rune's scripter... however, it shows itself in your color."
The Avatar of Sloth didn't say a word; he didn't understand what was going on. He looked down at his human, whose sleep had turned a bit restless since the other man drew the rune on her.
The fourth brother finally sat down the book and reached out to lay his hand on the rune
...and was immediately shocked.
Satan cursed and pulled his hand towards his chest.
"What happened?" Lucifer asked.
The fourth brother just shook his head and breathed for a minute in order to keep calm.
"It... I seemed to be locked out." The blonde answered in a controlled voice.
"What do you mean, you're locked--"
"It means I don't have control over the rune!" The Avatar of Wrath snapped at the oldest before taking a deep breath. "Belphie, you do it."
"Do what?"
"Just put your hand on the rune; it'll do the rest."
Belphie stared at his brother for a minute before slowly laying his hand on MC's belly, right above the rune.
Suddenly, his eyes glowed as his brain was flooded with information.
Okay, first off, he learned the rune was purple because of the baby. As soon as they sensed the rune intruding on their safe place, the baby locked Satan out... apparently to protect themselves and their mother. Belphie only has access because they seem to trust him.
It also seemed that the baby has inherited their dad's protective instincts. Belphie approves.
That's not the only thing they got from him though.
The reason MC has been out cold for past twenty hours is because they inherited their dad's miasma powers, the ability that he uses with his aura to weaken people and put them to sleep
The very same power he used the night he killed MC.
Belphie wanted to curse, to scream, to aim all his anger at the little being doing this to her
But then he discovered why.
The baby... they sensed their mama's great distress, something MC had been trying so hard to hide from him.
It all went back to the first revelation; the baby was protective of their mother. They weren't just protecting her from outside forces, but from herself too.
Lastly, he learned learned that there was no single baby; there was two
Twins. A boy and a girl.
Belphie pried away his hand so quickly that he almost fell off of the bed. If it wasn't for Beel being right behind him and catching him, he would have.
"What is it?" His twin asked.
Oh dear devil, where should he even start? The seventh brother didn't even know if he wanted to say anything; he just wanted time to let it all sit within him, but he had three pairs of eyes trained on him at the moment.
Belphie glanced down at MC's sleeping face and a fresh wave of guilt washed over him. She was essentially being drugged into sleep by his kids. Once again, this was his fault.
Sensing how overwhelmed his twin was, Beel turned to Lucifer and said some things that the younger twin didn't even try to hear before the oldest and the blonde left the room, leaving the twins alone.
Belphie sat with his knees to his chest and hid his face in his arms.
Beel came up and hugged his brother.
"It's my fault..." Belphie's voice cracked.
The younger twin told the redhead everything, who listened patiently to all of it.
Beel's arms tightened around his brother.
"You know she wouldn't blame you for it." Beel told him.
"Doesn't change the fact that it's my fault..."
The twins talked together for a little over an hour. After that, Belphie fell asleep next to MC and Beel left to update Lucifer.
The conclusion? Wait. All they could do for now is wait. Satan looked into some human-safe potions that would be strong enough to wake MC if she took too long, but otherwise, waiting is all they could do.
Two days later, MC woke up in severe need of water. Beel ran to go get some for her as Belphie held her close, relief washing over him.
A few bottles of water later, MC asked what happened.
Belphie didn't know what to say. Or rather... how to tell her.
But he did. He admitted everything with a heavy heart and actually apologized to her.
Wide eyed, his girlfriend pulled him in for a hug.
"Hey... none of that." She told him. "I'm fine, I-- it's okay."
The two laid there and cuddled for a while. Belphie laid with his head on her chest, feeling it rise and fall with each breath (and being incredibly grateful for each one) as his girlfriend stroked his hair.
"So...twins?" She asked softly. "How...how do you feel about that?"
Belphie let out a sigh. How could she lay there and worry about him despite the situation she was in?
It didn't help that the demon honestly had no clue to how to answer that. How did he feel about any of this now?
He hated all of this in the beginning and he resented this baby for even existing. Since his experience with the rune and getting the chance to understand the babies inside of her... he really didn't know.
They seemed... anxious and overall just wanted to protect their mother. That was no different from Belphie himself.
His twins just... devil, he could feel his heart softening for them as he thinks over everything.
He didn't resent them anymore, but how did he feel about them? About there being two of them?
Honestly, it sounded like a hassle. Even once this whole pregnancy is done with, MC and him will have twice the responsibility; he was exhausted just thinking about it.
Still, he accepted it all.
"Dummy, you shouldn't be worrying about what I think." Belphie shook his head. "...How do you feel about it?"
Silence.
"A bit... scared." She admitted. "I don't want you to get overwhelmed again and... and leave me."
Belphie sat up and stared down at her.
"I'm not leaving you. Ever." He said firmly. "I know I was a dick in the beginning, but I'm staying with you. Period."
MC looked away.
"Y-Yeah, but..."
Devil, he had to keep her stress levels down or their twins are gonna drug her again. The demon leaned in and kissed his girlfriend before laying his head back down on her chest.
"I love you, Butthead." He mumbled. "I'm not leaving you or our kids so stop worrying."
He could feel her body relax underneath him.
Months went by with very little issues. She went through somedays with a really froggy mind and that was concerning on it's own because she was extra clumsy like this, tripping over furniture and starting little fires in the kitchen.
Belphie and Beel were always hovering around her because of this, ready to catch her when she tripped. They also took over her cooking duty and took turns. MC felt bad and said she should be contributing more, but Belphie would always silence her with a kiss and tell her she's contributing enough by carrying his little gremlins.
This made her smile because she knew he was joking. If he was able to joke about them like that then there must be affection for them underneath it all. And she was right.
Her coma-like sleeps were rare but they did happen twice more in her pregnancy. Luckily between Belphie and Beel, they were able to keep her stress down enough to where it usually wasn't an issue.
Good End:
MC had woken him up in the middle of the night. Her contractions started while she was asleep and woke her up when they got too strong for her to sleep through. Belphie woke up to her crying and clinging to him.
From 3am to 9am, a long six hours, MC labored hard till she pushed both twins out. Their son had his dad's dark hair while their daughter had MC's hair. Both had Belphie's purple eyes though. Their daughter had their dad’s horns while their son had their dad’s tail.
MC held their son close to her chest as Belphie held his daughter. He stared down at the little girl, who lightly squirmed in his arms and let out soft cries.
"Belphie..."
He looked over to his girlfriend, just to notice that he himself had been crying as he watched his daughter. The demon looked away, blushing. After a moment, he spoke.
"I know we really didn't talk about this beforehand... but I want to name her Lilith."
His girlfriend gave him a smile.
"Of course."
The two discussed it for a few minutes and decided to name their son Judas.
Bad End:
Things fell apart early in MC's eighth month. The woman suddenly just collapsed where she stood, seconds after whispering Belphie's name and trying to reach out to him. The man caught her before she hit the floor. She had suddenly fallen into one of her comas. But why? He thought his girlfriend was okay, but apparently she had been bottling some feelings up. She would have had to have been or otherwise their children wouldn't be doing this to her.
It was three days later that Belphie woke up in the night to feel that the bed was wet. Very wet. MC's water broke! She was still in her coma though so how did this work?? Even with the contractions, could she birth the twins if he she wasn't awake to push?? Belphie quickly woke up Beel who in turn rushed to Lucifer. The oldest called a doctor, who had Belphie stay outside of the room.
The youngest brother paced back and forth in the hallway, cussing, and overall more awake then he has been all of his demon life.
In the end... MC didn't make it. But the twins did. The twins survived even when his girlfriend didn't and that fact destroyed him.
For the first two years of their life, Belphie had absolutely nothing to do with his kids; Beel raised them for him. It wasn't because of what you might think. Belphie didn't resent his kids or blame them for their mother's death like he thought he would. Belphie was drowning in self-hatred because it was his fault. He believed this with every fiber of his being. He couldn't even look at his children, especially Lilith, who he saw both MC and his sister within her whenever their eyes met.
Eventually, he got his shit together, at least somewhat. He always needed help though so Lilith and Judas were raise by both their father and their Uncle Beel. Belphie was pretty laid back as a father so between him and Beel, the kids had the freedom to do just about anything. However, they grew to be a bit bratty. Good hearted, but bratty. Any time anyone other than he or Beel tried to discipline them or said anything awful to his kids, Belphie was ready to murder a bitch and slowly at that; it was a lot easier to set this man off now as a parent. Luckily, Beel was always able to drag him away and calm him down.
Those around them were always put on edge by the Avatar of Sloth's presence because of this; even the other brothers weren't sure how to interact with him somedays. Still, his kids were safe and between himself and Beel, they never went without anything. They grew up loved and protected... just like MC wanted.
He sometimes got into these depressive moods when he thought of her and couldn't leave his bed. At first, Beel would try to occupy the kids elsewhere so he could have his space and the twins didn't have to see their daddy like that. One day though, when they were five, they snuck away and into the attic room that he hid in. Wordless, the two just climbed into bed with him and he held them close to his chest.
As much as he missed MC... he loved his kids and moments like that reminded him just how important they are to him. There was once a time where he told himself that if he had to choose between MC and their kids, he wouldn't hesitate to choose her; he simply couldn't imagine how he could care about anyone as strongly as he does her. Now that they're here though, he doesn't have to imagine it; it's his reality and though he missed MC with every fiber of his being, he wouldn't trade his children for anything in the three realms.
