Space Themed Whump Prompt List
Whump for the space and horror lovers
Whumpee's protective facial wear cracked during a quick moment of violence. Slowly the outer world is seeping in. Maybe whumpee is slowly losing their breathable air, maybe something hazardous is creeping in.
The space ship turned smaller and smaller as whumpee drifted away from it. They pressed the mayday button of their suit, but instead watched the silhouettes of their crew start the ship and head the opposite direction.
Alien whumpee has become a specimen to observe aboard the ship. They spend their days watching astronauts pass by, slowly learning to tell the difference between the suits. Caretaker has that strange scratch on their "face", and whumper's "hands" are blue instead of blinding white.
Whumper gives whumpee tainted oxygen, slowly poisoning and asphyxiating them. An enemy astronaut notices whumpee's loopy behavior.
Alien whumper won't let astronaut whumpee leave. Whumper's taken to murdering other astronauts to keep whumpee's oxygen going, and suit repaired.
Whumper and whumpee become abandoned on a dangerous alien planet. They're forced to work together if they want to survive, but whumper's violent behavior fails to stop.
After their ship is beaten and battered multiple whumpees are forced to land in dangerous territory that holds other intelligent creatures. Alien caretaker is very confused by these bulky and injured crashlanders, but they can't let these strange creatures suffer.

One of my favorite things about hurt/comfort in a fantasy setting is the potential for huge differences in size. Like a tall human and a doll-sized fairy, or a giant troll and a scrawny elf. I know size difference is a fairly common trope with human characters, but I think there's even more room to play with when the characters aren't all humans and have much more variance in size. In regards to Whumpee being the smaller of the two, some potential ideas are:
Whumpee falls in battle, collapsing with a thud that instantly snaps Caretaker's attention away from their own opponent. They quickly throw Whumpee over their shoulder and fight their way through the remaining enemies. As soon as they're safe, Caretaker sets Whumpee down and frantically tries to shake them awake, cursing themself for not protecting their fragile companion.
Caretaker treats Whumpee's injuries, trying to be gentle as they wrap bandages around them. They're afraid they'll pull the bandage too tight and snap Whumpee like a stick. Though, Whumpee doesn't seem all that worried. They trust Caretaker with their life, but Caretaker is worried about breaking that trust.
Or, Caretaker doesn't know how to treat Whumpee's injuries, so they easily scoop them up and carry them through the village looking for anyone who can help. Whumpee buries their face in Caretaker's shirt, their face burning red as they feel the stares of the villagers passing by. It's so humiliating, being carried around in their condition for all to see. Admittedly, though, resting in Caretaker's arms isn't all that uncomfortable, and had they a bit more privacy, Whumpee might even enjoy it.
Caretaker finds Whumpee practically frozen solid outside on a cold day. They immediately bring Whumpee inside to wrap them in a blanket and hold them in one arm as they cook a warm meal over the fire. By the time they've finished cooking a steamy broth for their chilly Whumpee to enjoy, they move the blanket away from Whumpee's face to see they've fallen asleep, resting their head in the crook of Caretaker's neck.
Whumpee gets scared and runs into Caretaker's arms for protection. Caretaker pulls them close and strokes their hair as they glare daggers at whatever, or whoever, just frightened Whumpee like that.
When Whumpee is sick but struggles to fall asleep, Caretaker scoops them up and lulls them to sleep by carrying them around and telling them stories.
Caretaker brings Whumpee to their house to keep an eye on them as they recover from an injury, but everything is a lot bigger than Whumpee is used to. They look so tiny in the middle of Caretaker's bed, and it takes both hands and a considerable amount of strength for them to hold what Caretaker thought was a small enough mug for them to drink from. Whumpee and Caretaker both laugh as Whumpee tries on a sweater that ends up going down past their knees.

The caretaker had never talked to or seen a human before, so finding an injured whumpee and trying to nurse them back to health was proving to be extremely difficult. The caretaker couldn’t even talk to the whumpee as there was a language barrier, so they couldn’t even ask what they needed to do.

Caretaker is searching for supplies during an apocalypse when they find a Whumpee. They have the infection that took over the country, but for some reason, they're not hostile. They're just scared of everything, including their own body.
OR
Whumpee being the survivor, but coming across a mindless, bloodthirsty, zombified Caretaker or Whumper. They don't recognize them, but they smell good, so they attack. Whumpee is forced to run or stab them.

Drabble One
They cowered away from Whumper, watching in terror as Caretaker’s feathers were plucked off one by one. They couldn’t stand hearing their friend scream, tears running down their face with each sob Whumper pried from Caretaker’s throat.
“Whumper, please!” They cried. “Leave them alone! You want me, not Caretaker!”
Whumper paid them no heed, continuing to rip the plumage from Caretakers once beautiful wings. ”I’ll give you anything, Whumper! I’ll do anything, please just stop!” They sobbed. Whumper froze, a feather half way pulled off and stretched in a way that made Caretaker whine. “Is that so? You’d do anything in the world...” Whumper harshly tore the feather off, prompting a strangled gasp from Caretaker. “For this pathetic little bird?” Caretaker looked at Whumpee with pleading eyes, silently begging them not to go on.
Whumpee hesitated, seeing the look on Caretakers face. They new Whumper, they knew what Whumper would do if they were really given the chance for it. But it wasn’t worth seeing Caretaker like this.
They nodded, scared for their life. “How tempting.” Whumper chuckled. “Perhaps I’ll take you up on your... deal.” They knew that tone. They knew it too well.

[tw nonhuman caretaker, caretaker turned whumper, whumper turned whumpee, psychological whump, captivity, threats of torture]
Whumper was guided and locked into one of the guest bedrooms before they could've collected their thoughts. The fact that they'd missed their chance of knocking out the person escorting them barely registered in their mind. All they could do was pace back and forth anxiously, pinching themself until their skin was red and tender.
How the fuck was Caretaker alive?
It only took a couple minutes before the devil appeared, and Whumper spun around and backed up until they hit the wall. This was real. This was actually real. "What's going on?" they choked out.
"Whatever do you mean?" Caretaker closed the door behind themself, taking their time locking it and sliding the key into their pocket.
Whumper had never admitted to the assassination out loud. They never knew who could be wired, which place could be bugged, it was better to just keep it a secret meant for the grave; and that habit was a hard one to break. "I– I mean... I've heard... I thought you... I've heard there was a, an accident..."
"Accident?" Caretaker stayed perfectly neutral as they surveyed Whumper's expression. "I'm afraid I'm not familiar."
"What happened to your face?" they blurted out. That was it. That was a good question.
"Why, you shot me. Don't tell me you shoot so many people that it all blurs together."
Whumper felt like they were going to be sick. "I didn't shoot anyone."
"So why the shock and the terror? Come on, now. You're amongst friends. Of all people, the two of us have an intimate understanding of what happened that day."
Caretaker slowly walked over, coming to a halt just a couple feet away from where Whumper was now cornered. Fuck, that scar was horrific. It wasn't one anyone should've been able to survive. This whole thing was impossible.
"Had you been kept in the dark, oh infamous rebel assassin? Did they not even tell you who any of us were?" The way Caretaker said that, it almost made Whumper feel like... they weren't human. Like Whumper should've known they were something separate, something more powerful... "Did you think no one had ever tried to kill us before you came along?"
"I... I didn't do anything... I'm just here to attend... attend a party..."
Caretaker laughed at that, hearty and genuine. "I do apologise, I'm sure the way you're looking at me right now is strictly due to the scar. I'm certain it has nothing to do with the failed attempt to murder me, since that most definitely wasn't you."
Whumpee shook their head frantically. "I, I don't know what you're talking about."
"And it wasn't you who put poison in the punch tonight."
"Someone poisoned the punch? That's– you ought to tell everyone–"
Caretaker looked endlessly amused by their pitiful attempt at masking their identity. "The guests have been alerted, don't you worry. But really, I can't believe we can't even have an honest conversation after having shared such an... intense experience. Tell you what; I share my secret, and you share yours. That seems like a fair deal."
"I have nothing to share, I'm afraid." Whumper was still glued to the wall, but they made an effort to relax a little. "I'm quite the open book. So unless you're interested in petty secrets from my childhood years–"
"Whumper..." Caretaker stepped even closer, and all of Whumper's previous efforts went out the window. They tensed up again, even holding their breath as Caretaker came within arm's reach. "I know you're curious. You want to know how I survived."
"I don't. I don't."
"Not if it means having to confess, hm?"
"I didn't do anything!" Whumper snapped, flinching when Caretaker raised a hand — but they didn't hit them. They put a finger against Whumper's lips for a brief moment, hushing them.
"Let me introduce your other option, then," they said softly. "I don't tell you anything. Instead I simply bring you down to the torture chamber and we spend an admittedly less pleasant time together, until you're ready to own up to your crimes. Would you prefer that?"
"I didn't do anything," Whumper repeated without thinking. "I didn't do anything... I, I came here for the gathering, I now find out I was close to drinking poisoned punch, I don't understand any of this–"
"Fine." Caretaker stepped back, and Whumper felt so lightheaded they thought they were going to collapse. "I must go back downstairs, I'm sure you understand. But don't worry; I fully respect your wishes. I will be back soon to make good on my promise."

Fire Elemental
Fire whumpee who is constantly being doused with water. Who coughs and sputters, pleading in their native tongue, which their human whumper can't understand.
^- a recovering whumpee who burns less bright and hot because of what happened to them and is either seen as weak or ugly by their fellow elementals.
Fire whumper who burns human whumpee, who caresses their face, only to leave behind a path charred skin.
^- a whumpee who becomes afraid of heat, warmth and fire.
Fire caretaker who never touches human whumpee but stays just close enough to provide a comforting warmth.
^- and even though neither of them understand each other, they do understand that they are friends.

Do you ever think about robots as caretakers for human whumpees? because I do. way too much. Just imagining a robot caretaker who doesn't know how to help whumpee AND doesn't know how human anatomy works so they're even more confused but they still want to help.
Also, whumpee with a fever making them overheat so they can't help but lean into the robot caretakers cold, metal hand.
Also also, whumpee with a fever that makes them too cold, so their robot caretaker raises their own core temperature and cuddles with them to keep them warm.
aaaaaahhhh I just love nonhuman caretakers so much!
oooh I never have thought of that before, but that's genius!!!
like the robot doesn't understand why they can't just do a hard reboot and the human is like "no no no that's not how humans work please stop trying to reset me" and the robot is just confused but doing their best to try and understand how to help this poor sad sick overheated thing
i could be down for this, anon!!

Mini Whump Prompt 118
Vampiric Caretaker has had enough of their fellow vampire's treatments of whumpee, and went out of their way to rescue them. Now to get them properly recovered and sent back to safely human territories.
They thought it would be simple. Sure! Whumpee was quite the odd human, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary... until they walked in on whumpee one day and the human proceeded to pull on the collar of their shirt until the neck and collarbone were fully exposed.
"What are you doing?", Caretaker couldn't contain their confusion.
"Offering you to feed.", They explained so nonchalantly, growing nervous at Caretaker's silence, "You've been so good to me, and I never see you feed. I thought- I thought that you might want- as a thanks of course."
"What the fu-"

Whumpee lives in a world where cruel beasts have taken everything they loved, devoting their life to kill every last one of the species.
One night they get caught in a snowstorm, on the brink of suffocating under the snow. They wake up in a warm, soothing cabin in bed, all of their wounds patched up. The one that saved them is one of the beasts whumpee swore to kill.

NICHE PROMPT TIME BAYBEYYY. I’ve got two werewolf themed ones for you!!
One: human whumpee, who is owned and whumped by a werewolf pack :)
Two: a human whumpee, who escaped their whumper and got taken in by a werewolf pack (basically a found family pack of caretakers)
(Bonus points if you talk about pack dynamics in this because uhhh fanfiction has given me A/B/O brainrot— but if it’s something you don’t vibe with, that’s okay!) ~🐸
tw nonhuman caretaker, past captivity, injured
Whumpee thought it couldn't get any worse. After they'd finally escaped Whumper, they thought their perils were over, and better days were ahead. But running into an entire pack of werewolves wasn't exactly what they would've described as better.
"Please–" they squeaked as they began backing away. "Please, I'm already half-dead, please just leave me–"
One of the beasts advanced on them despite the clear understanding in their eyes. These creatures were intelligent, able to decipher their words, and yet... Did they have no mercy in their hearts?
Whumpee fell to their knees, hands clasped in front of them. "I'm begging you. Please. I just want to live. I've– I've been hurt so badly, and, and for so long, please."
"No hurt," the werewolf said, its voice raspy and threatening even though its slurred words were ones of comfort. A wolf's mouth wasn't made for speaking human words.
Whumpee trembled before the monster, the tiniest spark of hope flickering to life in their chest. "You– you won't? Will you let me g-go?"
The werewolf pointed at one of Whumpee's fresher injuries. "Help."
"You'll... help me?" The thing scooped Whumpee up into its arms, trying not to jostle their injuries too much. "Wait– wait!"
Their protests were short-lived. And when they went to sleep that night, huddled up between several bundles of fluff and warmth, they couldn't help but think that their life might actually be on the path to getting better.

The caretaker had rescued the whumpee on a whim, and they could barely take care of the human they took in. Thankfully they seemed to have gotten most things right since the whumpee seemed relatively healthy- but the caretaker had to constantly research in order to get to that point.

Content: Vampire caretaker, human whumpee, feeding, self-harm (for the purpose of feeding a vampire), brief talk of weight loss, starvation, PTSD/trauma, [mentioned] fear of hurting a loved one.
Whumpee glanced over the moment they heard Caretaker slowly making their way down the stairs. With a small frown, they squeezed the cut on the underside of their wrist; causing just that bit more blood to seep from their body and into the cup below.
This would be the first time Caretaker had fed in almost a year. After so long of being fed from daily by Whumper, they couldn't stand the thought of doing it again - even if it was for their savior. The vampire had been extremely understanding, though Whumpee hadn't missed the look of disappointment that clouded their face as the realisation began to settle in. By that point, they hadn't fed in several months.
However, after so long without consuming anything, Caretaker had inevitably started to get thinner. It became noticeable each time they stretched too far or took off their shirt, along with the way they struggled to even make it out of bed without panting quietly each time.
Whumpee was sick of it.
"Whumpee," Caretaker greeted as soon as they were in sight of them. The human offered a smile in return, still squeezing as much blood from their cut as they possibly could. The way the vampire held their breath as they got closer did not elude them, but it was okay. They wouldn't have to for long. "Did you cut yourself? Are you okay?"
Once they were finished, Whumpee grabbed the paper towel they'd prepared for themself and pressed it up against their wound; using their other hand to grab the glass.
"Here," they whispered as they held it out towards them. "For you. I'm sorry it took so long to find the courage to do it."
Caretaker's hands were barely able to stay still as they took the glass from them. They eyed Whumpee closely, as if double checking to see if they were okay. The human responded by motioning for them to drink it.
"You're serious?" they asked. "I can have it all?"
Whumpee nodded. "It's all yours."
The moment the blood reached their lips, Caretaker began to desperately down the entire thing. It wasn't much - not in comparison to the amount they'd otherwise drink if they had the choice - but they seemed so grateful for it anyway. Whumpee even thought they saw several tears well in their eyes as they consumed the last bit.
"Tha-ank you," they quietly hiccupped as they licked out the rest of it. As soon as they were done, they politely handed the glass back, and Whumpee could already see a touch of life returning to their face.
Then they tentatively held their arms out for them. "Can I- can I finally give you a hug?" they requested, and Whumpee immediately lit up. It was enough blood that they felt they could trust themself to be close to Whumpee. That was good.
So they stepped within arm's reach of them and let Caretaker bundle them up in a hug for the first time in many months.
