hi! i'm buffy, a brand new indie roleplayer that focuses on writing as canon characters from my favourite fandoms! while my blog is no where near finished yet, i thought i would make a starter/plot call for when i'm ready! while i only write as canon characters, i will happily write against ocs and i'm crossover friendly (within reason). i've never done indie before and so please bare with me as i get to grips with it and learn the ropes.

And, until such time as Adam and Belle have a child of their own, the heir to the United Kingdoms of Auradon.

Fortunately, Belle and Adam have a son the following year, and Topher is bumped down to being the spare. But unlike the spares of old, there is no room for Topher to be anything less than perfect. He’s the eldest royal child in Auradon, the blueprint upon which every other child’s future will be mapped. A modern day Atlas, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, but a sacrifice that he made willingly so that no other royal child would have to. Along with being the perfect prince himself, Topher took his responsibility as Ben’s right hand incredibly seriously. Whether that be coaching him in all of the skills that a prince should have, or tutoring him on matters of policy and protocol, or helping him draft his first official decree as king. Whatever it may take, Topher would do anything to protect and support Ben, to help him be the best king he could be without having to sacrifice his childhood. And with adulthood came children. A daughter, Winnie Pan. Winnie was raised on Peter and Wendy’s stories about Neverland and she had long since fallen in love with it. But it was inaccessible, she’d been told, she could never see it. And as much as she hated it, she understood. Until Prince Ben lets four villain children through their barrier into Auradon. And Winnie has a realization: if one barrier can be taken down, so can the other. And Winnie Pan will follow the second star to the right to the home she should have had, or she’ll die trying.

She’s tough in a fight, quiet, small, hesitant to talk, is in love with a synth named Bean and a Railroad member named Darcy and works as a tracker out of Jamaica Plain for Mercy (the Sole and General of the Minutemen). She struck up a friendship with Paladin Danse during a short and unfortunate stint in the BOS. Let's just say, when he's in his power armor, he just carries her.

The school teacher - Clara (also a Brown... Coincidence? I THINK NOT) with that comes to the relationship of the school teacher and Jimmy Brown. Well, The school teacher reminded me of Clara after Doc told the truth about him being a time traveler.

again, it's in the name, inspired by the animated series episode "Witchcraft". Marty finds out about her being a witch first during bttf 3 and tries to warn doc, who of course, does not listen. Marty also thinks that Clara used some sort of Love potion and so he becomes a protective bestie.

Time Lord doc Au

again, the name. BUT. He lives in Clock Tower and Marty goes there as a dare. There were rumors of it being haunted, but you know. Marty is not a chicken, does what the rumors say to do (like a mini ritual). At first the Time Lord seems irratated and annoyed. But he seems cool :')

The Rulebook of Being Cedar Booth, Age Almost Six, Storybrooke, Maine

Cedar is her father's favorite child.

Wrong already. Scratch that and start from the top. Paint over it, the way she is so good at doing when she makes a mistake midway through a drawing.

Ahem.

Cedar is her father's only child. That doesn't mean he loves her any less, but saying she's the favorite would be misleading, a lie. There is no one else he could choose.

Cedar's father never planned to have her in the first place. That doesn't mean he loves her any less, either.

Cedar has a father, a grandfather, and several aunts and uncles, because Daddy and Grandpa have lots of friends that care for her even though they're not really family. She doesn't have a mother, but that's okay. She doesn't need one. She's fine the way she is.

Cedar's best friends are Maddie, Raven and Cerise. Raven does have a mum, and Cerise has two, which should balance things out, except Maddie doesn't have one either, just like Cedar. Cedar feels guilty for being a bit happy about this, because Maddie's mum is dead, but sometimes she can't help thinking it all the same. She doesn't like being the odd one out, ever.

Cedar is the odd one out now. That's okay, too. Most of the townspeople are odd, or magic. Cerise and her sister Ramona are werewolves, as is their mama. Daddy was like her once, when he was small. It doesn't matter that she's turning into wood.

Lie.

6. It does matter that she's turning into wood, but Grandpa says that the right people won't care at all, and that means him and Daddy and Jiminy, and her friends and Auntie Emma, so Cedar guesses she's doing well enough. They will figure it out together. Daddy promised they would figure it out together, and Daddy doesn't lie anymore, especially not to her.

7. Cedar's not hurting anywhere.

Lie.

7a. Fine, Cedar's hurting a bit. In the legs. They're stiff and sore when she goes to bed sometimes, even if Daddy sweeps her off her feet and carries her off to her room when it happens, makes a game out of it for her. Cedar loves her father very much for that, and she's being a good girl for his sake, she really is.

8. No, she did not throw mud at Apple Nolan when Apple said something about Cedar's legs. That was Sparrow, Raven's brother. Sparrow likes throwing things and making noise, and he doesn't boss Cedar around ever, only picks on her like he does to his sister.

9. What Apple said doesn't make her a bad person. She's Snow White's daughter, and more importantly, Auntie Emma's sister. She can't be a bad person. She just doesn't notice she's hurting other people sometimes, Maddie said.

10. It's Cedar's own fault that this is happening to her.

Lie.

10a. It's Daddy's fault that this is happening to her, because of what he used to be.

LIE.

10b. It's Grandpa's fault that this is happening to her, for making his son like that in the first place.

CaptainSwan headcannons (Only from the show, not alternate universe or anything like that)

They're late to everything (family parties, gatherings, dinners etc...)

Emma sleeps on the right side of the bed, Killian sleeps on the left, makes it easier for them to hold hands

Emma likes to tease Killian a lot, he pretends that he hates it when deep down he finds it kinda hot

Emma constantly asks Killian about who's real and who isn't since he's visited so many realms and probably knows if Santa Claus, Jack Sparrow or the Tooth Fairy are real (Yes, she asks him this probably every night and he finds it amusing)

They are the children of the group (Snowing, Rumbelle, OutlawQueen rip, Granpetto) mainly because they are too traumatized from their childhoods so they're less likely to enjoy going out and drinking whine with the group (doesn't mean they don't enjoy it together at home)

They talk about their past foster homes (or owners for Killian)

They compare scars/tattoos

After their wedding, and they were married for 6 months, they got a tattoo that best represents them (comment what you think that would be and I'll choose my favourite)

Emma always tries to ask Killian about his family, and tries her best to find ways to help Killian remember them

They're equals in their relationship but sometimes Emma is more in charge and Killian doesn't mind (despite being criticized about it by David, Regina, Granny, Whale)

Emma's introduced Killian to all her favourite childhood (and early adulthood) shows/movies: Back to the Future I/II/III, The old superman movies, star wars, old Johnny movies (because yes, Emma watched POTC on loop and enjoyed watching 4 and 5 for the first time with Killian)

even though Emma cut Killian's drinking supply to just water, they have a cabinet in the basement with fancy whine and other alcoholic drinks (Emma only takes it out when she has surprises for Killian)

Emma's nicknames for Killian are: Killy, Prince Charles, Elffy, Baby, Blue-eyes, My Pirate, Jones, Babe, Mr. Jones, Warden (only when he's too protective)

Emma is also the only one allowed to use his middle name

They just want to spend time with each other

Emma likes making Killian all his favourite meals and he does the same for her

Emma's told Killian all her darkest secrets like Henry having a twin sister (an OC character), her relationship with Neal Cassidy

Emma always wants to make Killian feel more part of the family

✨ A lot of people are surprised to learn that Emma is really not shy at all. She’s quiet and introverted, for sure, but growing up her dads kept her from locking herself inside her own head completely by assuring her she could talk to them about absolutely anything on her mind, and encouraging her - a person who to this day does not have the slightest clue what being embarrassed is or why she should be - to do so often. Now, if she has something to say, she will say it, without hesitation, to whomever it needs said, and more often than not people are just...not ready for it.

✨ Lux loves the idea of using aliases, but is terrible at coming up with them on his own. Usually his efforts stop at changing a few letters in his name followed by the first thing nearby to catch his eye. Some examples: Rux Barstool, Lex Tankard, Hux Table, Bux Streetcat, and Tex Fountain. He LOVES his Inquisition agent alias, Piper, and is in awe of Tulio’s prowess for conjuring himself a new name out of thin air.

✨ Rexus is happy to travel anywhere outside of Minrathous, with the glaring exception of his mother’s hometown of Qarinus, which is just...insufferably boring. At least, he says it’s boring, but what he means is unless he brings someone with him for that purpose, staying overnight in Qarinus means he’ll be sleeping alone. Because there’s a good chance that if he tries to proposition someone, it’ll turn out they’re his cousin. Well, there’s a good chance he’ll proposition a distant relative practically anywhere in Tevinter, but we’re not talking distant cousin any number of times removed here. We’re talking a whole child of one of his mother’s siblings. His mother’s eleven siblings. House Callas, his mother’s family, is notorious for being quite amorous (it’s really no wonder where he gets it) and consequently having a LOT of children. Between his maternal aunts and uncles, Rexus has somewhere between 50 and 60 legitimate first cousins, and who knows how many illegitimate ones. He only really knows a few of them, though, a couple of each of his three living uncles’ children. The useful ones, you know, who he might be able to poke for a favor at some point while leveraging the fact that his mother is their father’s favorite sister.

✨ Tasalin Lavellan and Nicky Hawke both subscribe heavily to the idea that people don’t necessarily need to like them in order for them to do their jobs, but in different ways. Tas knows some of his decisions are going to be unpopular but they need to be made regardless, and he will put a ton of effort into explaining himself so he will at least be understood, if not agreed with, because whether or not it’s necessary he still very much a) wants people to like him, and b) hates to be told he’s wrong. Nicky, on the other hand, says this as a warning. He will do his job, and well, but he knows you will not like him. Doubt him on that all you want, but you won’t. And he will not give a single shit.

✨ After his self-imposed exile from Orlais, Remy struggled to get established as a trader and worked secretly as a smuggler until he was able to save enough money to go legit and open an apothecary for his husband. The experience came in handy later, when he decided a great way to surprise Eynon would be to smuggle his father, Orlyn, who they’d been unable to bring with them when they left and whose fate was a cause of great anxiety to his son for years, to live out the rest of his days in the empty house next door in Starkhaven. Even though he was moved to tears that Remy would go to such trouble to do this for him, Eynon had to laugh; clearly, his anxiety about what had become of his father led Remy to believe the old man was in far worse health than he actually was and had thus vastly underestimated the longevity of a skilled alchemist and apothecary. Emma was six years old when Baba Orly came to live next door, and as of the Inquisition’s disbanding in 9:44 she was still taking him bread and tonics every morning despite his protests that he doesn’t need handouts and can make his own, even work the fields for the grain itself, since he’s always had to fight for his meals. When she and Eynon tell him to go right ahead and do that, then, his response is, of course, that he doesn’t need to prove he’s right.

Some Sentence Sunday

Holy Shit - I have new writing for today? WHAT?

So I restarted Fly Away Little Bird to get a better idea of Sparrow's personality since I'm re-editing Cry Mercy in a big way. And what I'd realized was that I needed to show more of Sparrow (Emma's) personality and really slow down her story. So...yeah! It's going to add more depth to Cry Mercy and let me show Sparrow (Emma) exactly as I want to. And it reiterates to me how much I love a good, well-filled out, well-written story. And reminds me that, in the end, these stories are for me and I want them to be the stories I want to tell. Not throw out chapters just to get them out there. It's not easy to do, I want to give people stuff to read...but I really want what i put out there to be what i want out there.

ANYWAYS, this is Emma (remember - that's Sparrow's birth name) visiting the Nightingales for trading, food, and rest:

The Nightingales' Clinic was small and cluttered. A raider was curled up on one cot, bloody bandage wrapped around their head. A woman wearing a Gunner's coat was getting what looked like a knife wound looked at. The Gunner looked up when Emma slipped into the room, eyes appraising. Emma narrowed her eyes at the woman, feeling her lips curl into a snarl.

Showing aggression was better than showing fear. If she looked rabid, the Gunner would leave her alone. If she cowered, the Gunner would see an easy mark. And Emma wasn't an easy mark. Small and not good at fighting, she'd still bite and scratch like a feral cat.

The Gunner smirked, and in response, Emma felt a growling hiss rumble from her. She curled her hands into claws, and hissed again before crouching down. The Gunner sniffed and turned back towards the Nightingale named Circe.

"Emma." Fiona's tone was chidding. "We aren't aggressive here."
