constantly thinking abt how in Undertale the consequences for violence are immediate and lasting while in Deltarune you have to actively work to make violence "stick". like not that there's no neutral vs pacifist differences but the plot absolutely continues on as if nothing happened while Undertale a single death changes the entire ending and structure. the way a broken snowgrave run immediately reroutes everything back onto the rails. the quick dismissals and movings on. it just feels like the entire world is trying to avoid thinking about violence or assigning consequences unless forced to do so

What if the Pale King locked himself away in the Dream Realm to recreate what he did to the Hollow Knight? After the Vessel leaked and he realized that it most likely had capability enough to suffer, but far far too late to even hope to do anything to fix it. He was beyond the point of no return, there was nothing he could do to undo the Sealing. And even if he could, there were no other options that he could think of of what to do about the Blazing Light.
He had no choice but to keep the Vessel sealed. No choice but to watch his kingdom crumble. There was nothing he could do.
Nothing, but to seal himself away in a self-imposed punishment in the exact same way he imparted onto his only (known) living child.
A weak attempt to impose the same agony onto himself as he forced onto them.
And should the people of his kingdom stop worshiping him and forget he exists, dwindling his power and life to a pathetic end?
Well...
Perhaps that might've been for the best.

Right I'm not saying Odin's not had a terrible amount of colonialism and war going on over his however-long-it's-been reign but when Thor wants to lay waste to Jotunheim and Odin tells him off for this it's not just hypocrisy at work, because the Odin of the timeframe of that movie seems sure that this would be Wrong not just politically bothersome and yet he also doesn't really explain to Thor why things are different now and putting that together what you have is this: Odin can't explain his own apparent change of heart without revealing that "oh yeah your brother's a Jotun," even though he must be fairly sure that this information would stop Thor's xenophobic bloodlust in its tracks as effectively as it did his own.

Companion teamwork, anyone.
Minthara growing herbs in her little travel garden for Gale and his cooking,
Minthara, helping Shadowheart in her own grief of being abandoned and neglected by Shar.
Wyll practicing his little dance and Minthara sighing and calling him a loser (in an IC way) however she’s the one with her lyre who had played so he could practice.
Minthara helping Karlach with … well.. everything. She’s canonically smitten have you see her talk about Karlach it’s not even my bias.
Minthara listening to Lae’zel about her Queen but also trying to advise her to think independently from it all.
Minthara sensing Astarion has had nightmare about Cazador and then holds up a bottle of his favorite wine and will sit next to him until he’s not longer having a secret panic attack.
Minthara seeing Jaheira pained over her losing her husband and extending sentiment because she too has lost her love years ago to Lolth’s folly. (Will not say anything about it right away, room for Jaheira to assume she doesn’t have any experience here.)
Minthara letting Boo eat greens out of her hand and sharing funny jokes with Minsc. They talk senseless circles around her but Minsc makes her laugh and he finds her funny.
Minthara telling the owlbear he can’t be carried everywhere but she’s the reason he’s used to being carried like a giant baby.
Minthara also close with Scratch in her own way because dogs sense panic attacks.
Minthara conversing between the animals in the camp like they’re people.

a fascinating, impactful thing about Elrond and Elros’s Choices to be Elf and Man respectively is that no way did they not start out Pretty Fucking Codependent. Since the age of 6, it’s been just the two of them surrounded by kinslayers, and then just the two of them surrounded by Gil-galad’s people and the Host of the West who don’t understand their many, many complicated feelings about the kinslayers. Like their parents before them, they are the only two half-elves alive in the world, completely alone but for each other. And their primary models for healthy relationships are Elwing “I will not let you suffer the wrath of the Valar alone” Dioriel, Eärendil “[I’m exhausted and want to leave but] My wife may Choose for both of us - immortality? Alright, babe” Tuorion, and Maglor “this is a terrible idea but I will not let you take further blood on your hands and Eternal Darkness on your soul alone” Fëanorion. There’s no way for them to have not been Pretty Fucking Codependent!
Yet still, still, for the love of boldness and fortitude and the mystery beyond the edge of the world, Elros chose to be a mortal Man; and for the love of wisdom and grace and the beauty of the world, Elrond chose to be an Elf forever in Arda; and as price, they both accepted that they would be sundered from one another until the end of all known time.

Greg’s introducing his new house-guest to the rest of the village
They’re taking it..............well
[ID: A redraw of the “Whatcha Got There/A Smoothie” meme with TC’s Sheikah and Yiga OC’s. In the first image. Kara and Maro are standing in Kakariko. Maro’s looking shocked and a little disgusted while Kara look’s confused a slightly concerned, holding up a hand to her face. Maro wears a blue, sleeveless turtleneck and Kara wears a beige dress with a floral apron. In a BOTW style text-box she says “Uh, Greg... whatcha got there?”
The next image shows Greg, smiling pleasantly. He wears the typical Sheikah jacket with one sleeve hanging off. In one hand, he holds a banana, replying cheerfully “A banana.” Behind him stands Naga, a Yiga footsoldier with two small horns on their mask. They stare past Greg with the eye on their mask ]menacingly, a whole head taller than him. \end ID]

Gotta' love how Chief doesn't feel like a self-insert but a character with her/his own personality. It's a plus she's hot.
Also, I might just level up Hella out of fondness, she's so cute.
