What's Sherlock and co? TV? Twitter? Email? I'm confused

It’s a podcast!! It’s created from the angle that John Watson is documenting his adventures in crime solving with Sherlock in the format of a true crime podcast. All the characters are played by actors so it’s best described as an audio drama. It’s been running since October and as of yesterday it’s on episode 15. It’s created by a group called Goalhanger and it just won Pod Bible’s best audio drama podcast of 2023!

For marketing/immersion, someone at Goalhanger runs a twitter account (@/DocJWatsonMD) and an email account ([email protected]). They’re both in character as John, and he does shoutouts on the podcast in character as well, so they’re doing a very good job of making him feel like a real guy.

If you’ve ever enjoyed any Sherlock Holmes media, I’d really recommend giving Sherlock & Co a listen. I’ve been describing it to people as BBC Sherlock but good. There’s still that good Sherlock and John banter, but they’re nicer to each other and clearly care about each other. Sherlock is canonically autistic (among other things) and both that and John’s PTSD are handled very well in both my and other fans’ opinions. The audience also gets to hear all the clues, and Sherlock explains a lot of his deductions, so the mystery solving feels very satisfying. The show is funny and charming, and the theme song is an absolute banger. If you do end up giving it a listen, I’d love to hear what you think!

One of my favorite little hc is that before the boys were together if anyone of them go on a date the other three just follows them. They really like pushing other love interests away.

Kenny flirts with them all the time and all of them push it off to him just joking around but he’s dead serious.

At some point Stan, Cartman and Kenny all at once had extremely obvious crushes on Kyle but Kyle didn’t realized bc he’s pretty oblivious

They’re married in Roblox and Minecraft. Plus in any other game they could possibly do it in.

They’re bad at planning dates. If anyone plans dates it’s Kyle but it always turns into some sort of unexpected adventure. He tries to anticipate them but he never actually can.

Eric can plan dates too but they don’t let him. His dates are usually over extravagant which is something not all of them want all the time.

They love cuddling I already wrote a post about it but I just want to say that they absolutely adore it. They’re all touch starved and just want to cling on each other for an hour or two

since this is specifically a hadestown au, to go beyond orpheus x eurydice, somethings are different from the myth, such a eurydice dying in a storm instead of from a snake bite. a lot of the fic is structured the same way as the musical, and parts of it are in like an omnipotent second person narrator which….doesnt make sense but i promise it works.

Marian's Revenge for the ask! (is Jorpin girly but we gotta switch it up)

Ah Marian's Revenge is an interesting one because it was actually the opening scene where Robin goes to Marian after he buries his father and it built from little scenes throughout the movie.

Or near enough to it, literally only 180 words of background before this scene:

He peered into the crack of the door, his eyes widening as he saw her riding a man's cock: her head tossed back, her mouth parted open, her breathing ragged, her beautiful breasts larger than he recalled encapsulated in a man's hands as he squeezed them, and their hips frantically chasing something between them.

When one hand removed itself from her breast—he saw the scar he left that day of his claim—and a man of dark curly hair, and beard, fully grasped onto her teat like a babe would feed at his mother's breast, moaning as he did. 

Chasing rapture.

The plot came after because I rewatched after writing HWS, and this really focues on the whole bullying aspect Marian claims of him and if a boy would push a child down and burn her hair and would throw a tantrum big enough to his father to have his Lord father's lover sent away...he would not want to be rejected.

So if Marian rejected him...he might do things to her to force her hand and want to return to what he believes is his because of it despite her objections.

And this story takes a whole what if stage about Sheriff of Nottingham and Marian because the whole "i have never given him cause" really just makes me think of them together more as pair because the lady doths protest too much.

Oh man, brevity is not my strong suit. But Yue Qingyuan is my favourite in general and Shen Jiu is the tastiest to analyze, so I can try with both?

Yue Qingyuan: The kindest person, could have been a hero, but his love for the villain led to the end of a world, the end of his life.

Shen Jiu: Second in a cycle of exponentially increasing cruelty, a vessel for a fate that he had no choice in.

hi kath!! I don't know why I didn't see this a week ago when you sent it but!

I think that really depends on how she meets them - I have a whole 2/3 wips about how emma and claire would be really tight, contingent on them meeting independently of everyone as opposed to being introduced. but as far as being introduced goes I think that the person who would be instantly trustable to emma is probably gotta be either jody (familiar, maternal) or kevin (100% the opposite how she was taught the outside world would be)

I think she would learn to love Garth the most. because he's the only person who would both off put her with the levels of physical affection but then endear her for the same reasons.

hm. my writing is like a mushroom you find on a walk through the woods. sometimes its tony and cute sometimes its the most beautiful thing youve ever seen sometimes its a big ol hunk sometimes it looks like mold and youre just like. ???. what is that

sometimes i dont, most of the time i do. i cant listen to music with words, so movies soundtracks are usually where i go. httyd is a favorite (i listened to these movie soundtracks sm recently while studying/writing that john powell (composer) is now in my top artists on spotify) and i also love lotr and the hobbit. recently for the hadestown au i’ll listen to a song that a scene is based on once or twice before writing it and then a couple more times while writing it. but while im writing its usually instrumental music to keep me from getting distracted!
