Hey if it’s not to much trouble, could I please get a tanjiro! Fem reader with yandere ouran high school host club? I just feel like the sunny personality and hard work would pair nicely.
Tumblr media
Tanjiro Reader | Yandere Ouran Host Club
Your smiles, your optimism, and your empathy make you a perfect guest at the Ouran Academy’s host club. Your sweetness is irresistible and your willingness to help just makes keeping you at the Host club all the better. Too bad you seem intent on chasing after one:
Tumblr media
Tamaki Suoh
“W-whoa y-your strong!”
“Well thank you! I do a lot of training.”
Is amazed by how much power you have
Over him and in general
Just the way you’re so willing to scoop him up when he dramatically pretends he can’t move
Not to mention you seem so ambitious
But for whatever reason you just won’t share
“Its kinda….yeah I think its best if I don’t talk about it.”
“B-b-but (Y/n)! I have to know everything!”
He couldn’t not know the love of his life’s personal struggles
While he could hire someone to find out its just more fun if he goes exploring stalking himself
Let’s just hope he doesn’t die on the way
Tumblr media
Kyoya Ootori
You’re an elusive character he can’t help but fall in love with
So sweet, so kind but there’s something more
Something fiery
And through all his employee’s research he can find nothing
Only that your funded by the Ubayashiki group and that your sibling is a mute allergic to the sun
But he needs to know more
Like where those scars came from or why your so strong
“Well I guess there’s only one way to find out. Oh (Y/n) why don’t you travel with m-us to the Ootori resort?”
Tumblr media
Hikaru Hitachin
Why were you so perfect?
He was just genuinely asking
It was a little weird how you could tell him apart from his brother by smell
but he wasn’t complaining when you can smell exactly what he’s feeling
And what he’s been through
“W-what are you doing here (Y/n)?”
“Well it smelt like some blood on you, are you hurt anywhere?”
“Ah uh yeah, right uhm here.”
He can’t help but want more of you
Your just so smart
Its hard to protect his place in your heart
But no worries that’s nothing money can’t fix right
Tumblr media
Kaoru Hitachin
“Y’know you’re almost too perfect. Theres got to be something wrong with you.”
“Heheh maybe there is!”
You’re so sweet
Everyone loves you and you listen to everyone
But who listens to you
What are you hiding
To be so strong, so powerful, so skilled
He’d love to protect you at least once
He can be worthy of you
Just you wait and see
Tumblr media
Takashi Morinozuka
“Ah you remind me of Nezukuro. Oh! That’s my sibling!”
He likes you
A lot
Always responsible, always kind
Who wouldn’t love you
Which is what he tries to reason with when others pine for you
“Leave them alone.”
He doesn’t like hurting others
Unless its for you
Tumblr media
Mitskuni Haninozuka “Honey”
“(YYYY/NNNN)! I have some cake for you!”
Not many are strong like you or as disciplined
But that doesn’t beat how sweet you are
Sweeter than cake!
He just can’t get enough
But he’s an experienced fighter
He knows the look of vengeful anger
Who IS IT?!
He’ll make sure they never breathe again.

With New Eyes Every Time 🌊🪸🐚👁️
Miguel O'Hara x Reader S/O
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Aquarium date with Miguel! 😄💕 Not much else to say. Word count 2.6k
A/N: inspired by my amazing moot @huniedeux ! Thank you for making a post about wanting to go to the aquarium and inspiring me in the process! 🥰 All thanks to you! 🫶🏽 Also really need to thank @hikaru-sama for being so patient and amazing at helping me with Spanish translations! 🖤🫶🏽 I owe you my life lol 😫
Crocodile facts I used came from: Royal Society Publishing and Wildlife Sydney AU (I kept getting confused on the crocodile embryo fact and the Royal Society Publishing ended up being the correct one in regards to that fact)
CW: ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP, A SMIDGE SUGGESTIVE SO MINORS DNI, BRIEF MOMENT OF GRIEF, OTHER THAN THAT JUST FLUFFY FLUFF. No mention of reader's gender.
Tumblr media
"Well, actually, it's your turn to pick the date spot this time." Miguel hums as he gently blows on his oatmeal before taking a spoonful.
"Goddamn it...I'm so bad at choosing." You drum your nails against your coffee mug, the motion generating small tinkles of sound against the white porcelain.

Miguel smirks, "Thought since I'm a Libra, I'm the one who's supposed to be indecisive?"
"Doth mine ears decieve me?!" You clasp your hand to your chest, making a gasp of over exaggerated astonishment. "Astrology's #1 hater is reciting accurate lore of his own sign back to me?!"
Miguel shakes his head, blowing air out of his nose in amusement. "Nah, I'm still the number one hater." He winks. "Just proving to you that when you talk, I do listen. Even if I'm bad at responding."
"Bah." You wave your hand at him and sip your coffee, shifting your thoughts to where you'd like to go on your date with him this time. Truth is, Nueva York was huge. You hadn't been to all the restaurants and bars and every single spot just yet. You just had a few favorites that you kept on rotation.
Miguel, a man of routine and structure, didn't mind that one bit. Actually, there was a place you did really want to go to, you just hope he'll be okay with it since you were just there together for Valentine's.
"Perhaps..."
"Mhmm?" Miguel turns the page of his newspaper, doing his best to be responsive to you while getting caught up on yesterday's news.
"Don't be mad at me..."
"Mad at you?" Miguel's eyes flicker from the newsprint to yours. Scarlet spotlights on you.
"The aquarium." You say finally, your lips pull into a cheeky smile to indicate that you're well aware of your redundant choice but you don't care because you're dying to go anyway.
The corner of Miguel's mouth tugs a little into a half smile. "That's the spot, huh? You think I was going to be mad at you for choosing the aquarium again?"
You shrug. "Well, I do drag us there a lot. But it's so fun! I love seeing the fish and everything. You know me. I can't get enough of that stuff."
Miguel gives you a warm smile. "Well, the aquarium it is then. And believe me, that's farrr from one of my least favorite places we go. It's actually one of my favorites, too."
You echo his warmth, mixing it with some playfulness in your tone, "Oh yeah, I should've known, you love that under the sea, nerdy stuff too, huh?"
Miguel chuckles. "Guilty." He stands up, picking up his empty bowl. "Vamos, los peces esperan." (Let's go, the fish are waiting)
----
You can't help but smile giddily as you walk around the vast aquarium. It's dimly lit, and not very busy at this time, to both yours and Miguel's relief. The fact it was a Wednesday likely helped, since the rare occasion when Miguel's days off coincided with yours were quite sporadic and random.
First, you started with the reptiles. As you walked in the more brightly lit section, you peeled off your hoodie and tied it around your waist as the humidity of the exhibit started to get to you. Moisture hung in the air and the spattering sounds of water hitting rocks from the waterfall that stood tall in the middle of the exhibit created the illusion you were somewhere tropical, a welcome respite away from the March wind chill of Nueva York.
Frog croaks, monkey shrieks, and clicking and chattering of birds rustle in the exhibit, creating the ambiance of a rainforest. You look up at the large bird habitat in front of you, shielded by thin netting, groups of colorful birds hanging out in small clusters, rotating between perching and flying from one resting spot to another. A large smile breaks out on your face when your eyes land on a toucan perched on a twig garland hanging from the ceiling, busy cleaning his feathers.
"Babe look..." You say in a hushed voice. Miguel follows your gaze and his face breaks out into a smile as well, admiring the cute little bird as he ruffled and stroked his black feathers and puffed up his white bosom with pride.
Miguel nudges your side playfully with his hip. "He takes a long time to get ready, kind of like someone I know..."
You try to nudge him pitifully back in response, but Miguel stays anchored in place with a chuckle.
You move on to look at the geckos, lizards, snakes, and caimans as well. A baby crocodile sits with his belly dipped in a shallow pool of water, legs splayed out and mouth wide open, basking in the warmth emitted from the heat lamp at the top of his tank.
"He's SOOOO cute!" You gush, leaning your head just a little closer to the glass. Miguel looks away from the yellow poison dart frog exhibit and follows your squealing noises, putting his hands in his pockets as he stands next to you with a smirk.
"Not sure if cute is how I'd describe him..." Miguel tilts his head at the mini croc, its green eyes still unmoving. "He'll grow up to be an apex predator like his parents."
"Look at you, Mr. Wildlife." You look up at him, impressed. "What else do I not know about Kenny here?"
"Kenny?"
"That's his name, babe. It says so on the sign."
"Oh." Miguel laughs. "Well... crocodiles have three eyelids."
"Oh, you told me that one already, baby. What else?"
Miguel smiles and lists some more facts for you. You love it when he's like this. He was like a sponge, always absorbing knowledge that other people might have found boring or useless. He'd gladly tell you about it too, and he never ever made you feel silly or dumb for not knowing something.
"The sex of embryos in crocodiles is actually determined by the temperature at the time of incubation. So, Kenny here was probably incubated at a higher temperature which is more associated with producing males, whereas cooler temperatures are associated with producing females." Miguel points.
You click your tongue in admiration. "I learn something new every day. Let's hear one more."
Miguel purses his lips in thought for a moment, then says, "See those lumps and bumps on his back? Those are actually called, ‘scutes’. They actually enable them to be more stealthy in the water. They stop it from rippling."
Your eyebrows raise, your eyes still on Kenny and then they move to the tank beside him with the bigger crocs. "Whoa..." you nod. "Well, that proves my point earlier."
Miguel raises an eyebrow.
"Crocs have scutes. So they are s'cute!" You cross your arms triumphantly and head towards the ocean part of the aquarium.
Miguel thinks in his head that you probably wouldn't use that word for long if you knew how large crocodiles killed and ate their prey, but he doesn't argue. He smiles to himself and gives a curt nod in farewell to Kenny before he leaves to catch up to you.
----
Your eyes get big as you enter the room with jellyfish tanks. Soft blue and pink globs glide effortlessly in the water, sinking down slowly before using their tentacles to propel upwards, bobbing hypnotically in dizzying movements.
You and Miguel keep stealing glances at each other when the other isn't looking. You turn to look at him once more, the bioluminescence from the jellyfish mixed with the blacklights of the aquarium cast a soft glow on his features, the crimson in his eyes making him look just as ethereal as the beauty of the sea you're both gazing at. His full lips jut outwards subtly as he purses them in thought, his cheekbones sharp, framing that divine, sculpted face of his.
He looks at you, catching you staring at him this time. You take his hand, wrapping your other hand around his forearm to pull him closer to you. His head turns briefly for a moment, making sure you two are the only ones in the room before he leans down and gives you a soft kiss, that jittery feeling in your stomach when one of his hands cups the side of your throat, pressing you a little harder against his lips. Before you pull away, you add a lingering bite to his bottom lip, making him blush.
"Pórtate bien...." (Behave yourself) He murmurs, running his tongue along the slight puffiness on his bottom lip your teeth left behind, trying to calm the small flame you lit inside him.
Your mouth curls into a grin at the mini rise you got out of him, and you walk into a new area, marvelling at the saffron-colored coral and dainty seahorses.
Miguel moves to the other side of the exhibit where the largest tank resides with an assortment of fish swimming in and out of a large, fake shipwreck, but stops in his tracks when he sees the clownfish and regal tangs. A twinge of sadness pulls at his heart.
After watching the seahorse disappear behind a seaweed stalk, you turn and notice where Miguel is standing and your eyebrows knit in worry as you take long strides to come stand by his side, squeezing his hand.
He exhales at your touch and squeezes back in response, not needing to say anything because you can read him better than anyone. Sometimes this part could be rather hard for him. Clownfish and Regal Tangs were the species of Nemo and Dory.
Finding Nemo was Gabi's favorite movie.
You both watch the colorful fish in peaceful silence, darting in and out behind rocks, speeding up and slowing down, jolting and occasionally bumping into one another as they weave and glide through their underwater habitat around the large sunken ship.
Eventually, you pull Miguel gently by the hand leading him to one of the empty benches behind you. You sit and watch the fish together some more, enjoying the serenity of the buzzing undersea ecosystem before you, smiling when you see the comically large sea turtle next to all of his smaller fishy cohorts, dodging them and spinning like a rotisserie above your heads like it was second nature for him.
After a few more minutes, you turn to Miguel, "Well, last up is the shark exhibit." You try and brighten the mood a little, "That one's your favorite. You ready?"
Miguel turns and looks down at you, his arm still resting on the top of the bench behind you. His hand comes to give your shoulder a squeeze. "You sure? This one's your favorite. We can take our time."
You try to shake your head and play it off, "No, really I've seen it a hundred times, plus I think there's a new tank with stingrays or something..."
Miguel knows when you're trying to be too nice, a not uncommon behavior of yours. "We have all afternoon, really. I want to make sure you're having fun." He reassures you.
Your eyes melt as you sit back in your seat, indulging in staring at the fish for just a while longer like you wanted. Once you're satisfied, you let him know with a nod of your head and a squeeze of his hand and you two make your way to the escalators that run to the lower level, taking you to the shark exhibit.
As you do, you can't help but think about the times when you invited your friends and they practically rushed you through the whole experience, asking if there was anything new you could look at instead or passing up on going to the aquarium altogether, saying they've seen it all.
Miguel was one of the only people in your life who didn't make you feel bad for revisiting places you loved because it made you happy to re-experience it all over again. Hell, he was eager to and even expected an invite each time you did.

You press your lips together in anticipation and your eyes go wide as if you're looking at it for the first time as you enter the large, underwater tunnel, dozens of sharks swimming in every direction, the shimmery reflection of the water and aqua light of the exhibit immersing you into a whole new world. It takes your breath away and you slow down, pausing in one spot right in the middle of the tunnel, losing yourself in the oceanic beauty above your head. It's one of those no camera moments, a time that requires silence, appreciation, and the person you love right next to you.
Miguel's watching you with sheer admiration, slightly envious even that something else could make you that speechless with adoration. He wants to make you feel that way all the time. It's memories like these with you that he's so glad he lowered the gates of his heart all that time ago. Never guessing when you crossed his path, it would lead to moments as blissful as these. The best part of the whole thing is that they won't end anytime soon. As long as you'd let him, he'd continue calling you all his. Could now be the time to make it permanent? Perhaps. No, you deserved something more planned out, something really special. He hadn't even gotten you that ring that you liked so much, sending not so subtle hints by texting him the link to it every so often while he was at work.
When he feels it's a good time, he approaches you from behind, touching the corner of your elbow, curious to know what's been on your mind. "¿En que piensas, mi alma?" (What are you thinking, my soul?)
You hum and turn around, following that low, mesmerizing voice of his, and you look up at him, the face of your lover looking down at you, warmth dominating his countenance that pulls you right in.
"Just thinking about how much I love coming here with you. You never make me feel bad for wanting to just take my time and see everything, you know? Even if it's my quadrillionth time seeing it. I just love the beach and the ocean, you know? It's like a brand new experience every time."
Miguel smiles down at you, then his eyes briefly wander, the group in front of you starts moving on so you two are left alone once again. He takes a deep breath and turns you back around so you're looking at the sea life once again, keeping his hands on your arms as he gives them a little love squeeze. "Kind of like how I see you, hmm?"
You chuckle, leaning backwards into him. His cologne enveloping you in that embrace that made your heart flutter and your knees grow weak every time. "What do you mean, Mig?"
"Con ojos nuevos cada vez." (With new eyes every time)
You close your eyes with your head against his chest and his arms wrapped around you for several moments. You bring your own hands up to his, sliding your fingers underneath his jacket sleeves in search of the warm skin of his forearms to which he softly exhales into your hair at the sensation.
You murmur to him, "Can we get smoothies on the way home?"
"Hmmm, you don't like my green smoothie recipe?"  Miguel asks with a teasing grin.
"It had.. too much kale for my liking."
"Ouch."
"Sorry, baby."
"Ha, ha...well, I suppose we could. In that case we might as well get lunch. You need real food too, not just a smoothie. You're ready to go already?"
"Just a little longer?"
"Of course, sweetheart."
You smile and lean back into him once more, letting your bodies lean against each other in familiar, loving solitude as the sharks swim around you in the tunnel of the aquarium, white flashes of light shimmering against the glass every so often that the water hits the sunlight that's slowly begun to peek out from the afternoon skies above.

➼ warnings: teensy bit of angst if you squint
➼ chapter navigation
➼ welcome to season 2 of Indeed! i thought we would start it off with a bang :)
Tumblr media
"Oh... dear God." You gawk at the dress placed in your arms by Hikaru, glancing up at him for reassurance. "You're joking." It's more of a plea than a statement.
"C'mon, surely you knew our theme for today was service staff by now." Hikaru scoffs, shaking his head.
"Honestly, Senpai, you're our manager dating our director... how are you out of the loop?" Kaoru tsks with a sigh.
You crane your neck to glance at your aforementioned boyfriend behind you, your glare worth daggers, "This was your idea?"
Kyoya's eyes merely flit to you for a moment, returning to his laptop quickly, "You know me better than that, y/n. Whose idea do you think it was?"
Another quick turn of your head to Tamaki, the same glare present. He sweats nervously, "Those idiots told me you'd look good in a maid costume! It wasn't my idea!" He defends himself adamantly.
You grumble, "Too bad we can't stick Haruhi in this dress."
"We can after club hours." The twins smirk devilishly.
"Senpai." Haruhi whines.
"Sometimes I forget why I didn't just go to London." You drape your costume over the back of a chair, threading your fingers through your hair with a sigh.
Tumblr media
"Because Kyoya-Senpai begged you to stay, remember?" Hikaru and Kaoru deadpan, appearing by your side once more.
You snort, "Oh, yeah. It was just Kyoya. Mhm." You cross your arms with a cocked brow.
"And I didn't beg. I asked." Kyoya pipes up, not bothering to meet your gazes when the three of you turn to him.
"You're delusional." You snicker, throwing him a knowing glance. He rolls his eyes, returning diligently to his work.
"Enough of your bickering. y/n, our guests are arriving soon- hurry up and put the dress on!" Tamaki whines, pushing you by your shoulders to the backroom.
"I don't understand why I have to wear everything that you wear! Can't I just wear black and white? I'm not even a host." You pout as Tamaki shuts the door behind you. You tear the dress from its packaging and begin stripping down.
"You wouldn't be-"
"-as cute that way, Senpai."
"I beg to differ." You grumble, stumbling as you slide the bodice of the dress up your torso. You, personally, think you'd look just as cute in black and white clothing, but you digress.
"Don't forget the headband!" You hear the door handle jiggle at Hikaru's voice.
"Ah! Don't you dare! Give me ten more seconds." You exclaim in a scolding tone.
"Back away from the door, Hikaru." Kyoya pipes up. Hikaru does as he's told, gulping. You nearly laugh.
"How do I look, Haru-chan?!" Honey tugs insistently at Haruhi's arm, forcing her eyes to fall upon himself and Mori dressed in their servant uniforms.
"You look great, Senpai." She nods with innocent eyes, straightening her own bow tie around her neck at the collar of her crisply white button-up shirt.
"Oh! Daddy's little girl looks so cute!" The telltale sound of Tamaki's fawning reaches your ear as you straighten the straps to your apron.
"Look at you in your tailcoat!" By the sound of Haruhi's groans, it sounds like he's smothering her.
You crack the door open and thrust your hand into open air, wriggling your fingers expectantly, "Where's the headband I must wear?" You groan.
"Come all the way out and get it." Kaoru teases.
"I don't have to wear it, you know-" Suddenly, the headband is placed in your palm and you snicker triumphantly.
"Thank you, boys." You chuckle, shutting the door promptly.
You slide the headband over the crown of your head and allow it to sit just behind your ears, straightening it the best you can and dusting off your apron before stepping out hesitantly.
You grumble, "This feels really demeaning." You pull at the ends of your dress, turning in a circle to get a look at yourself.
"Am I going to carry around a tray and do little poses?" You demonstrate your meaning by popping a leg up and holding a peace sign to your eye.
Your ears catch a light chuckle, twisting your neck to find Kyoya dressed in a black tailcoat tuxedo, straightening his clean, white gloves, shaking his head at you.
Tumblr media
"Well, don't you look fancy." You snicker as he moves a gloved hands to his glasses to adjust them on his nose.
"That is the intention, yes." With a somewhat knowing smile, Kyoya peers down at you in your own costume.
"Alright, men!" Tamaki claps his hands to gain each host's attention, and he does so effectively.
"And women." He adds secondly, continuing on with a coy smile, "Our guests will be arriving soon. Now, it is important that we all play well into our roles as servants for our ladies today. Today, we not only charm our guests, but we will wait upon them as well!"
"Now you get to experience what I do everyday." You nudge Kyoya in the ribs, earning a scoff from him. "I doubt it'll be difficult," he replies with a coy expression.
"I never said it was difficult. But remember, I never said you'd like it, either." You tease mischievously, offering him a soft pat to his shoulder as you waltz off to take your position for opening.
And as the first guest of many arrives, the club is there to welcome them warmly in perfect poise, hands folded diligently with deep bows.
"Welcome." The usual chorus of voices reaches the ears of the first guest as they enter, earning a second chorus comprised of gasps and soft exclamations of awe.
You bow traditionally, "Welcome, ladies. May I ask who you would prefer to serve you this afternoon?" In your one hand, a notepad, and in the other, a pen, as you await their reply.
The guests snicker to themselves, flattered by your sudden attention. One of them speaks up. "Hikaru and Kaoru, please."
You smile and gesture with an open hand for the girls to follow you, "Very good, right this way, please." You bring them to their seats as if you were a hostess. That very word causes your heart to flutter excitedly, but it quickly dies down as you focus on your duties that are simply those of a maid.
You continue to seat guests at the respective tables for each host.
The more and more guests you escort to Kyoya's area, the more you become confused. Your romantic relationship is more than common knowledge ever since the twins couldn't keep their mouths shut about the whole stunt Kyoya pulled on the last day of the Ouran fair. You assumed more guests would be devastated by this knowledge, avoiding Kyoya as a host, but it seems his numbers are skyrocketing.
"Kyoya, tell us how you saved y/n again! It's so romantic!"
Kyoya nearly loses his composure at the sudden inquiries flying his way, slotting a hand behind his neck awkwardly, "Well, I hardly think you'd want to hear about that. I'd much rather talk about you."
"But Hikaru says you fell off the bridge! And you confessed your love to y/n all at the same time!"
You can't help the own rosy tint that falls over the apples of your cheeks at the notion that the guests know all about your private affairs. Well, not so private...
"That is true, yes..." At Kyoya's confession, the guests crowding him squeal, faint, and shake each other incessantly.
Both you and Kyoya had discussed the possible repercussions of being together publicly, and he mentioned that he wouldn't particularly mind if his guests seemed to dwindle off into smaller numbers. But currently, you're looking at an insane influx of patrons surrounding him.
"Did you really dance in the water? Did you kiss her?"
"Oh, I wish someone would do that for me!"
"I can't believe she was going to leave!"
You make a mental note to bash Hikaru's head in when you get the chance, a more cherry tint spreading across your cheeks and inching toward your ears.
"Welcome, ladies! Can I get you some tea?" Honey approaches his table with a tray full of steaming teacups, one for each customer. "Oh! You know what would go great with this tea? Some cake!" he says, brimming with excitement. Mori appears at his side with one arm folded behind his back, the other gracefully carrying a tray of cake slices at Honey's suggestion.
"Thanks, Honey!" A guest says, graciously accepting his offering. "Won't you stay and enjoy it with us?" she requests curiously.
"Well... okay! But only for a little bit, because then I have to go back to waiting on you pretty ladies!" Honey leaps onto the sofa beside his guests and promptly munches on a slice of cake offered to him by the guest adjacent to him.
Tamaki glances over his shoulder, excusing himself from his guests for a moment, throwing in an excuse — something along the lines of bringing them more refreshments.
"Hikaru, Kaoru!" He hisses in a whisper, snapping his fingers briefly. The twins slide into view at his beck and call, saluting their leader and mimicking his tone, "Yes, sir!"
"Gather the others and meet me in the back room! Make sure y/n doesn't see any of you." Tamaki implores, shooing them away.
"On it!" they eagerly reply, bolting off to grab the first host in sight. Hikaru and Kaoru sweep up Honey first, who hums in question as they scoop him up effortlessly. Mori follows soundlessly after that, head barely tilted curiously.
"Thank you, ladies, I- hey! What are you doing?!" Haruhi stammers, suddenly feeling Hikaru and Kaoru's arms looped under her own, dragging her on her heels away from her guests. The girls seated in Haruhi's area blink disorientedly as she's whisked away.
Just as the twins are even thinking about taking Kyoya with them by force, he raises a definitive gloved hand, "No need, I'm coming."
They comply immediately, nodding shortly and making their way to Tamaki's designated meeting place.
And suddenly, when you glance around aimlessly for a host... there are none in sight. In fact... they're all gone. Guests slowly get up from their seats across the room, making their way over to you with curious expressions.
"y/n? Where did Tamaki go?"
"Yeah, and Hikaru and Kaoru are missing!"
Your eyes grow wide as you stand speechless in the middle of a sea of guests, all tilting their heads in your direction with questioning eyes.
"Uh..." You murmur, unsure yourself as to where you boys have wandered off to... all... at the same time...
Odd.
Meanwhile, in another room, Tamaki throws his arms around Hikaru and Kaoru's shoulders on either side of him, forming a makeshift huddle as Mori and Kyoya remain standing upright, all the while participating in the discussion.
"Alright men, we need to think about this carefully," Tamaki begins.
"What exactly are we doing?" Haruhi glances to each host for an explanation, completely and hopelessly lost.
"Discussing the operation, of course." Kyoya vaguely mumbles.
"What operation? What's going on?" Haruhi looks to someone else for a clearer explanation.
"When we go back out there, we give y/n a run for her money! This operation is improv style- come up with whatever ridiculous request you can, and make sure she does it!" Tamaki whispers harshly, earning nods from his fellow hosts, who seem to be following along diligently.
Haruhi tilts her head, "Huh?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Alright, 'Operation: y/n's Host Trial' is a go!"
~y/n's Promotion!~
"Wait, what? We're making y/n-Senpai a host?" Haruhi asks with wide, incredulous eyes. Glancing to Kyoya's side profile, he gives nothing in return but a small, slowly forming smirk tugging at his lips.
"Hikaru, Kaoru: You know your jobs?" Tamaki inquires, pointing to the twins with a determined finger.
Kaoru shrugs, "Make y/n-Senpai-"
"-as busy as possible. We got it." Hikaru finishes, mirroring his brother's shrug.
Haruhi nearly pales, grimacing. When the twins are making someone busy, they're usually not doing it in a way that's particularly... tolerable.
"Are we sure that's a good idea?" Haruhi tries carefully, but no one seems to be listening. And if they are, they're intentionally ignoring her... which is definitely the case — Kyoya sees, hears, and knows all.
"Honey-Senpai?" Tamaki turns to Honey next, who salutes him immediately.
"Make y/n-chan take care of all of my problems!" He beams, contradicting his words.
"Kyoya, you are to-"
"Make sure y/n stays on task and doesn't get distracted." Kyoya adjusts his glasses, interjecting.
"By any means possible! Make y/n work!" Tamaki declares to the general group.
"By any means possible!" The hosts chorus back to him, save for Mori and Haruhi. They glance to each other apprehensively, exchanging concerned expressions.
"Mori-Senpai, I want you to keep a lookout for anything going wrong. Bring it to my attention immediately." Tamaki orders authoritatively.
Mori hums, but he doesn't necessarily agree... something seems off about this whole operation, and only he and Haruhi seem to be the ones who are not completely agreeing with everything Tamaki is saying.
"And Haruhi-" Tamaki begins optimistically.
"Look, Senpai, I don't know if I'm okay with working y/n-Senpai to the bone... she already does enough. Besides, hasn't she proved herself worthy to be a host already?" Haruhi implores, her expression quizzical.
"Nonsense! y/n has never actually hosted before. We need to see if she's up to the task!" Tamaki exclaims with an aura of dedication.
"... and to do that is to give her even more menial tasks than she already has?" Haruhi's shoulders slouch over in defeat when she realizes that Tamaki has absolutely no logic behind these trials... and the other hosts seem to be going along blindly. Which is... worrying.
"Senpai, I thought you were smarter than this." Haruhi grumbles, glancing up at Kyoya with an disgusted expression.
"I don't know what you mean by that. Besides, I don't see the harm in testing her a bit." Kyoya shrugs, not sparing her a glance.
"You realize that giving her hostly duties would be the way to do this? Not more errand girl duties? I don't even know why she still does those in the first place... she's our manager." Haruhi rubs her chin between her fingers in thought.
"She used to have a debt, remember? I just assume it's second nature to her by now to do all of those things." Kyoya proposes.
Haruhi hums thoughtfully, barely paying Kyoya any mind now.
As the two think out loud, chaos has been orchestrating among the trio of idiots with the addition of Honey.
"You all have your jobs, now get out there! We've been gone for way too long!" Tamaki ushers the twins out the door, followed by the rest of the hosts, and only two of them are starting to already rethink this horrible operation.
"There you guys are. What on earth were you thinking, all disappearing at once like that?" You huff, hands angrily on your hips as you approach them.
"Just discussing host things!" Tamaki assures, which doesn't make you feel any better in the slightest.
You raise a brow, irked. Rolling your eyes, you wave them off, "Whatever." You grumble.
Tamaki and Honey make discreet eye contact, and Tamaki nods subtly.
"Wah~! y/n-chan!" Honey wails, immediately gaining your attention.
"Senpai, what's wrong?" You appear to his table in the blink of an eye, brows furrowed in concern as his tearful eyes look up at you.
"I'm out of chocolate cake! Can you please get some more?" He hiccups, his hands drawn to his chest as he sniffles.
Your eyes fall on a perfectly full tier of strawberry and white cake, glancing back at Honey with an unsure expression, "But Honey-Senpai, you have plenty of cake right here-"
"But I want chocolate cake!!" He insists with a whine you rarely hear from him, especially in such an insignificant situation.
His guests chuckle nervously, offering you confused glances, and you return them with an apologetic smile.
"Alright, alright... I'll be right back."
You turn to head to the storage room, stealing a slight glance back at Honey as you go. It's common for Honey to act childish, that's his whole gimmick... but you rarely see him throw a tantrum like a true toddler. Maybe you shouldn't have given in, like a responsible mother wouldn't have. Well, a responsible mother wouldn't allow her child to eat as much cake as Honey does anyway, so that idea is long out the window by now.
Upon reaching the cabinets that store treats and sweets, you find that the host club is completely out of chocolate cake — not one slice to be seen.
You tilt your head. "Odd..." you say to yourself, quietly. You swear you'd seen an abundance of it just days before... Honey couldn't have possibly gone through that much chocolate cake in a few days... could he? Maybe you just need to stay more on top of things. No matter: you mark acquiring more chocolate cake on your mental to-do list and suppose that the academy's refectory will have to do.
You return to Honey, who looks hopeful at your arrival. You sigh, "I've got to run down to the refectory, our cupboards are barren of chocolate cake... I'll be right back."
Honey's eyes water, his prominent pout returning.
"I'm going now! I promise, I'll be right back." You swear.
And before Honey can burst into tears, which he looks like he's about to, you dash off, determined to reach the refectionary in record time... hoping that they either have chocolate cake on hand or that they can whip some up at lightning speed.
 ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡
With two armfuls of chocolate cake slices packaged in plastic, you push open the club doors and are immediately bombarded by a host.
"Where did you go? You were gone for quite a while." The not so melodic tone of your partner's voice reaches your ears, arms crossed.
"We ran out of chocolate cake and Honey-Senpai wants chocolate or nothing." You groan, adjusting your stature to better cradle the inconveniently shaped packaged cake slices.
"You still shouldn't leave us without warning, guests have been waiting for their refreshments." Kyoya follows close behind as you start your journey to the storage room.
You blink, surprised at his lack of understanding, "Kyoya, I was only gone for fifteen minutes, you can't pour tea yourself?" You try your hardest to laugh off the comment.
"It's not our job to pour tea."
You haven't heard him belittle your duties like that since he disregarded your debt... since before you were dating. But, before you can react, you're promptly whisked away.
"y/n, where have you been?" Tamaki circles behind you, pushing you by your shoulders to the back room, "Put those away and come out immediately, and bring the tea!"
You blink as Tamaki leaves you to the storage room, putting the cake slices in their rightful place in a sort of daze. The boys have scarcely ever been quite this urgent with you. Even if they are, they try their best to be as forgiving as possible if you're running a bit behind.
You arrange the pot of tea and matching cups on your familiar tray, hoisting it off the table and into your hands as you scurry out to meet Tamaki, who apparently so urgently needs you.
It seems as though every time you pass through a doorway, you're needed by a different host. This time, the twins are at your side in an instant the moment you enter the main room.
"Hey, Senpai, we need your opinion." Hikaru begins, both twins effectively blocking your path.
"Yeah, it's urgent." Kaoru nods with a seemingly forced intense expression.
"Um..." You grimace, fingers tightening around your tea tray, but you don't see the harm in humoring them only for a moment.
"What was it that we wanted to ask her again, Hikaru?" Kaoru inquires, fingers stroking his chin in thought. Hikaru mirrors his twin, humming.
"I can't remember, Kaoru... hm..."
"Guys, I really need to-"
"No, no! We'll only be a second, just give us some time to remember it." Hikaru interrupts you.
You sigh with exasperation, shoulders slouching as you semi-patiently wait for Hikaru and Kaoru to remember what they spontaneously needed your opinion for.
"y/n, what on earth are you doing? We needed that tea tray two minutes ago." Kyoya materializes at your side, checking his watch and beckoning you to follow him.
"Sorry, guys." You hastily apologize to the twins, following Kyoya at his heels.
"Here, Kyoya, can you bring this over? I really need to make sure Honey-Senpai has his-" You offer the tray up to Kyoya as you follow him, but he turns sharply and holds his hand out.
"Nonsense, I have my guests to attend to. I simply don't have the time." He informs you.
Your brows furrow, "Well, neither do I, Kyoya, that's why I'm asking you to do it. If I had the time, I'd-"
"I don't want to hear excuses. Deliver the tea, then attend to Honey-Senpai." Kyoya leaves you with that.
You're left bewildered at his choice of tone toward you, gawking in the direction he disappears in.
You inhale sharply and exhale just as quickly, shaking your head to yourself as you arrive at Tamaki's table, setting down the tea tray and adorning a bright smile, "Here's your tea ladies. Now, if you'll excuse me." You direct your glower in Tamaki's direction, putting a particular annoyed inflection on your words as you find him simply lounging on the sofa, surrounded by swooning guests. Tamaki grins sheepishly.
You turn on your heel to find Honey-Senpai, who seems to be having the time of his life entertaining his guests... until he catches your eye. Suddenly, he blinks in rapid procession and tears are streaming down his cheeks.
"y/n-chan, I need my chocolate cake!" He whimpers, arms flailing in a tantrum-like manner.
"Okay, just a second!" You call over your shoulder, rushing back to the storage room and throwing open the cabinets. You all but snatch a slice of chocolate cake... grabbing another for good measure, and dash out to tend to Honey's blubbering cries. Placing the slices in front of him, you anxiously await his reaction.
His sobbing subsides all too quickly, and he's left beaming up at you, "Thanks, y/n-chan!" And with that, he's devouring his sweets.
You exhale with an aura of relief, folding your hands before you, "Not a problem. Can I get anyone else anything? More sandwiches?"
Honey's guests shake their heads, smiling, "We're okay, y/n, thank you!" They beam politely. You nod and slip away.
But you don't get a moment to yourself for long before the sound of shattering glass catches your ears, silence falling over the room after a round of surprised gasps.
You turn to find Hikaru and Kaoru at the scene of the crime, both standing over a mess of what looks like two broken teacups... that seem to have fallen straight from their hands and onto the floor... at the same time...
"Whoops! Clumsy us!" They chorus, a certain undertone of mischief present in their voices.
"y/n, could you get that for us-?"
"- yeah, we've got other stuff to do." They link arms, sauntering away to attend to their guests who are just as confused as you are.
You groan all too loudly for Kyoya's liking, apparently, as you make your way over to the mess and start to gather the bigger pieces.
"Remember, y/n, compose yourself. You'll have to learn to be compliant with anything if you want to get anywhere." Kyoya reminds, carelessly scribbling in his notebook as you slave away on the floor over a pile of broken china.
"Compose yourself, y/n, smile y/n." You mock in a high pitched tone under your breath.
"I heard that." Kyoya lifts his eyes briefly from his half-written sentence to meet your sheepish eyes, your lips drawing into a thin line. Kyoya's unamused eyes bore into your soul.
"Heard what?" You don't give him a moment to answer as you're off to discard of the larger pieces of china, acquiring a broom and a dustpan for the smaller shards.
Watching from afar, Haruhi crosses her arms, "They can afford to break fine china. If I broke a saucer, I'd be paying it off for two weeks."
As you pass her slouching figure, you giggle, "Yeah, double standards, am I right?" You snicker, dumping the shards of china into the nearest waste bin. Haruhi beams.
After making sure your palms are clean of glass, you swipe a tired hand across your forehead, sighing in relief at the momentary break you receive.
The key word is momentary, and you're not even sure you can call it that, as you're leaping to attention when Honey wails deafeningly once more. You grimace at his volume, cautiously peering over your shoulder to see what could possibly be the matter now.
"y/n-chan, I spilled tea all over my pants! I need new ones!"
Surely enough, just as you arrive at his side, your eyes immediately fall on the dark stain covering his pant legs, still slowly growing. Luckily, you know Honey's tea has been sitting out long enough to have grown cold. Still, you cannot fathom how he would be comfortable in a pair of damp slacks.
"Did you pack an extra uniform, Senpai?" You question, tilting your head.
Meekly, Honey shakes his head no. You suppress the strong, strong urge to groan loudly, as that would only upset him further.
"And I suppose you want me to find you one?"
At your offer, Honey beams, "Yes please!"
You feel your eye twitch involuntarily, forcing a strained smile, "Sure thing..." You say through clenched teeth.
As you turn around and lose Honey's attention, you snatch a throw pillow from a nearby sofa and shove it over your mouth, muffling a loud, frustrated groan, stomping your foot.
You inhale deeply through your nose, quickly regaining your composure and putting the throw pillow back in its place. You clear your throat and dust yourself off before setting off on your new mission.
 ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡
The only solution you found for Honey's problem was nothing short of embarrassing... to say the least. You've managed to venture all the way to the primary school building, thoroughly out of breath and practically begging for one of the sensei's to lend you their spare pair of boy's uniform shorts that they keep around in case of the elementary students having accidents.
You return to the club with the fresh shorts slung over your arm, receiving immediate attention from Kyoya.
"Where did you run off to this time? You were gone for-"
"Give me one second, please, Kyoya, I'll never hear the end of this if I don't give these to Honey-Senpai now." You forcibly shove past him, leaving him to watch you approach the elder, feeling anxious at the new frustrated attitude you've adopted.
Cautiously, you gain Honey's attention by tapping on his shoulder. "Senpai, these are the only pants I could find you," you say, presenting him with the elementary school uniform shorts. Although they're small, you expect them to fit. And, well, they're dry.
You barely notice the way, Honey glances to Tamaki for approval, as he would be fine accepting the pair of shorts you are offering him, but his boss shakes his head discreetly, indicating that Honey must give you a reason to do something else.
He sniffles on que, "I'm not gonna wear little boy's shorts! I want my uniform pants!" He hiccups.
Truthfully, by now, the wet spot on Honey's pants is mostly dry, and you can't even see the liquid given that his slacks are black to begin with.
You sigh in exasperation, "There's really nothing else I can do. These are the only-"
"No!" Against his better judgement, Honey smacks the shorts out of your hands and to the floor. The room grows silent at his outburst and everyone is patiently awaiting the next choice of words from either of you.
"That's embarrassing, y/n-chan! I don't wanna wear elementary shorts!" He insists, brows furrowed.
Your teeth grind in a heavy effort to reel in your outrage, afraid you'll explode and say something you regret to the poor boy.
"Senpai," Your tone is wavering, eyes shut as you do your best to regain a steady composure. "Unless you want me to drive all the way to your house and personally select another pair of trousers from your closet and come back here, there is nothing else I can do for you."
Honey can sense the sheer frustration in your voice, so he doesn't say anything further. He's decided he's played too much of a part in this little game, and he doesn't think it's very fun anymore... someone else is going to have to step in.
And someone else does. Just as Tamaki is starting to realize that this little "trial" has gone too far, Hikaru opens his mouth.
"Come on, Senpai, isn't this your job?"
Even his brother's eyes grow wide, tugging on Hikaru's sleeve to tell him not to push you anymore, but Kaoru freezes while doing so as you turn around menacingly, your gaze tearing daggers through Hikaru as you fume.
"No, Hikaru, it is not my job to be your personal servant-"
"Don't you serve your dad all the time at home? Get to it, y/n, we don't have all day."
Your fury is replaced by absolute astonishment at Hikaru's choice of words paired with the insult of lacking an honorific.
"Hikaru!" Kaoru scolds with a gasp, seemingly pushing HIkaru's consciousness back into reality as he realizes what he's just said to you.
And that's when Tamaki realized this entire operation was a mistake, uncrossing his arms in a state of shock.
Haruhi's attention turns to Mori as he stands adjacent to her. His eyes are closed in disappointment, as if he knew something like this would happen.
With an indignant huff, your voice slightly breaking, you throw the elementary boy's shorts to the ground, as a loud smack! echoes through the silent room. You manage to suppress your tears as you storm past the onlookers and to the grand double doors, slamming them behind you and bolting down the hall.
Tamaki does his best to disperse the crowd, directing intrigued guests back to their tea and snacks with a polite smile. As the crowd dissipates, Tamaki throws a panicked expression in Hikaru's direction.
"When I said make y/n as busy as possible, I didn't mean make her busy crying!" Tamaki stomps his foot, fuming.
"I didn't mean to! I just wanted to make her mad!" Hikaru whines, feeling the immense weight of guilt pulling at his heart strings.
"She was already mad, you pushed her over into hurt." Haruhi pipes up, arms crossed. She could have guessed that this was exactly what would happen if you were pushed to your breaking point.
Hikaru hangs his head, ashamed of his words toward you as his heart pulses painfully. Kaoru clings comfortingly to his side. "Don't worry, I bet Senpai knows you didn't mean it," He assures. Hikaru only nods slightly.
"I didn't think she was gonna cry!" Honey cries, now bursting into genuine tears. Honey seeks Mori for comfort, lip trembling as his mind runs rampant with his intolerable behavior toward you. Mori places a still hand atop his head without a word.
"I think we'll have to move ahead with the plan a little early." Kyoya adjusts his glasses, taking hold of the reins of this operation.
"Tamaki, could you have the room ready by the time I get back? I'll go make sure she's alright." Kyoya tucks his notebook and pen away.
Tamaki nods, "Good idea, Kyoya. You heard the man, get to work." He orders, clapping his hands twice. The remaining hosts scurry away at his command.
As Kyoya withdraws from the clubroom, he has the slightest inclination as to where you might have run off to. Trusting his intuition, he sets off to the place he has in mind.
It's a bit of a longer walk, and Kyoya can't imagine that you ran all the way here, but his intuition was, indeed, correct. He nearly smiles fondly to himself when he finds you perched on the edge of a familiar fountain in your maid's uniform, knees drawn to your chest. Kyoya's chest aches painfully when you brush a stray tear from your cheek, sniffling quietly. He can barely hear you over the calming sound of trickling water flowing in the fountain.
Kyoya steps out from underneath the covered walkway and you notice him immediately.
"Oh." You straighten up, quickly wiping your damp cheeks and hoping your nose isn't too red. Luckily, your cheeks darken to the same rosy hue to match the tip of your nose.
"Want some company?" Kyoya offers gently. You nod wordlessly.
At your given consent, Kyoya sits on the ledge of the fountain beside you, craning his neck only slightly to peer over your shoulder as your back is turned to him.
"Are you alright?" He tilts his head.
You sigh, closing your eyes for a moment, "I know he didn't mean it, it's all part of some stupid charade you're all doing, but it still hurts."
If it wasn't for your last statement, Kyoya would have laughed. Of course you were aware of something going on, you're incredibly observant.
"I know. I'm not entirely sure where that came from, but it was unnecessary." Kyoya reaches out tentatively. His fingers gently caress your arm with an aura of hesitancy. He can't quite tell if you want him by your side or anywhere else.
Soon his uncertainty is settled, however, when you swivel your body and lean into him, still hugging your knees to your chest. Kyoya slithers a casual arm around your shoulders, holding you secure to his side.
"I don't want to go back in there," you say. Kyoya can practically hear the pout on your lips. He smiles softly.
"I think you'll be surprised." His optimistic tone brings your head up toward him to meet his eyes, looking hopeful.
"Promise?"
Kyoya knows without a doubt that what they have planned for you will raise your spirits in the most wonderful of ways. He angles his head to face you, eyes landing upon your expectant irises. The warmth in his heart spreads across his whole chest.
"Promise."
And when Kyoya promises something, you don't have a doubt in the world. A faint tint of red spreads across the apples of your cheeks, reaching the bridge of your nose when Kyoya places a gentle kiss just below your hairline.
You sigh quietly to yourself, hoisting yourself from the side of the fountain, "I better go and give Hikaru a chance to apologize anyway, I bet he's worrying himself sick." You tease, walking closely to Kyoya's side and nudging his shoulder.
Kyoya chuckles, "You know him all too well." He puts a simple, guiding hand to the small of your back.
"Well who do I have to thank for that, huh? Back in the day when you used to boss me around..." You quirk a brow, grumbling.
"Something good came out of it, right? I know they're a pain, but they certainly hold you in high regards." Kyoya says, moving to shove his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah, I sort of figured that after they staged an entire fight to get the chance to visit my house." You scoff, a small smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
 ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡        ♡
You reach for the handle to the clubroom, but you're quickly stopped as Kyoya grabs it before you. You glance up at him with questioning eyes, hand poised mid air.
"Allow me." And with that, Kyoya pushes open the door. It creaks all too familiarly, and unexpectedly, you're flooded with a surge of rose petals.
You swat stray petals away from your line of sight, thoroughly confused: "We already opened for the day, what's with the theatrics?" You blink, realizing the room is shrouded in darkness.
"... are you guys just sitting here in the dark?" You squint. You turn to find Kyoya for an explanation, but he is nowhere to be seen.
The echoing thud of a spotlight switching on turns you around, and Tamaki is standing illuminated under a beam of light.
Lining a pathway toward him is an additional, less spectacular row of lights that flash from above. Hikaru, Kaoru, and Haruhi stand on one side in a row, and Kyoya, Mori, and Honey stand parallel from them. They all stand as if they're uniformed soldiers in their butler costumes, arms folded behind their back and eyes glued to you.
You blink, brows furrowed at their unusual formation. You haven't got anything planned... no special event or party that requires a dramatic entrance.
"y/n, would you please step forward?" Tamaki bows like a true prince would, one arm pressed to his chest and the other outstretched, head slightly angling up to glance at you.
Stunned to silence, your legs carry you to move closer to him, barely sparing each host an apprehensive glance on your way to the King.
You cannot even begin to fathom what is going on, a million ideas running through your head at a hundred miles an hour. Are you in trouble? Are they going to ask you to join a cult? Have they joined forces with the Black Magic Club and this is your initiation?
"You've proven yourself worthy against our trials, my dear." Tamaki announces in a royal tone.
"Trials?" You tilt your head to the side, looking curiously at the hosts around you.
"And so, I present you... with this." Tamaki looks to Kyoya a moment. Kyoya hands him a luxurious pillow, meant for ceremonies. Something is sitting a top it. It doesn't look too big, and it looks quite delicate.
When Tamaki is handed the pillow, he moves it into the light, lowering it to your level to reveal...
... a yellow rose?
"A rose?" You have to admit, it's quite beautiful, in perfect condition. However, you can't help but wonder what on earth he's giving it to you for... and in such a formal fashion.
"Your rose." Tamaki corrects in a gentle tone as if he were speaking to only you.
"My rose?" You parrot.
And then, it clicks.
Your rose.
Your rose.
The rose meant to represent you. To represent you as a host.
Your eyes tear from the beautiful flower to meet Tamaki's lilac irises, your lips parted in disbelief.
"Are you serious?" You absentmindedly take the rose with gentle fingers. The gorgeous pale yellow of its petals glisten under the sharp light above Tamaki's head.
"It's long overdue." Tamaki nods. He can't help but smile at your complete bewilderment.
With a cheek splitting grin, you let out a purely delighted laugh, surging forward and throwing your arms around Tamaki's neck, arms constricting tightly around him.
As surprised as Tamaki is at your reaction, his arms are quick to reciprocate, the warmth in his chest spreading to his lips as they smile fondly.
"Thank you." He hears you sniffle. He chuckles.
"It's wasn't my idea." As Tamaki gently lets you go, you know immediately who to look to.
Your gaze falls upon Kyoya's, already fixed on you with a soft simper.
He truly is a vision in his butler's tailcoat, arms tucked behind his back and eyes focused entirely on you with such an aura of adoration that it makes your heart pulse in the best of ways.
As you approach him, you can't wipe the smile from your lips, "You're really okay with this?"
Your consideration for his anxieties sets Kyoya even more at ease with his decision than he was before.
"Absolutely."
It's not necessarily the fact that you're becoming a host that excites you. Sure, it's a role you've longed for these past few years and you think you'd be an excellent candidate... but that's not the reason you're over the moon.
It would take only a bystander to realize how uncomfortable the notion of you becoming a host made Kyoya in the past. The idea of you catering romantically to anyone didn't exactly sit right with him, but that was when your combined futures were uncertain. That was before he knew the extent of your affection for him. It used to make him nervous to see you interact in such a way with others, but now...
Of course you're excited to become a host and explore the possibilities, but you're ten times more moved by the fact that you have gained such trust from Kyoya. A trust that exceeds his boundaries, a trust that allows him to put your ambitions above his anxieties.
And that is more important to you than anything he could have ever given you.
Such a notion brings a few tears to your eyes and your lip trembles in the slightest, a sound of appreciation caught in your throat as you reach toward him, hands cradling his jaw as you pull him down for a searing kiss. Although he hadn't expected it, Kyoya's hands quickly find their place caressing your waist, eyes slipping shut as he basks in the feeling of your lips pressed together.
Kyoya pulls back only just, gaining your attention and flicking his eyes behind you briefly, jerking his head in the same direction with a faint smile.
You turn to glance over your shoulder, making eye contact with the twins: particularly with Hikaru. He looks as though he might chew his lip off, eyes darting away from yours the moment he sees you looking at him. Kaoru nudges his shoulder a bit.
Kyoya turns you around by the waist and you take the initiative to make your way over to Hikaru.
Hikaru fidgets with his sleeve, "Senpai, I'm really sorry about-"
But as you lean up on the tips of your toes and peck his cheek, Hikaru's words catch in his throat, eyes growing wide as a flush spreads across his cheeks. He gulps as you flash him a charming smile.
"I know. Thank you." You nod, seemingly convincing Hikaru that you don't notice the profuse blush spreading to his ears.
"I'm sorry too, y/n-chan!" Honey exclaims, leaping into your arms. Although you have less than a few seconds to react, you quickly support his weight with ease, playfully grimacing as his hair tickles your cheek.
As you set Honey down, patting the top of his head, you glance around at the hosts surrounding you, "Who's going to do all of my chores now?" You inquire curiously.
"All of us." Mori declares, allowing the corner of his lips to twitch slightly upward when you turn to him with an appreciative smile.
"Yeah, we're all gonna chip in a little." Kaoru digs his fist into Hikaru's arm playfully, who rolls his eyes and rubs over the spot that Kaoru punched.
"It's the least we can do." Haruhi grins widely.
Tamaki sweeps in, taking you by the hand, "Without further ado, allow me to introduce our newest host type!"
Ever a lover of theatrical presentations, Tamaki turns you to face the rest of the hosts, bowing.
"The gentle type."
As your heart swells, gripping your yellow rose tightly between your fingers, the hosts erupt into applause.
"Does this mean Senpai has to flirt with our customers too?" Hikaru raises a brow.
"Guess we're gonna have more male patrons." Kaoru grumbles.
"Guys, your jealousy is showing." Haruhi deadpans, flashing you a knowing look. You return it with a smirk.
"Indeed." Kyoya teases, unable to suppress the smile spread across his lips.
"Now, y/n! Allow me to teach you everything I know about the art of hosting!" Tamaki takes you by the shoulder, casting his hand to the sky and starting on a monologue that you couldn't be paid to listen to in a million years.
Turning over your shoulders with a desperate call for help in your eyes, Kyoya merely shrugs. You roll your eyes.
"When talking to a customer, ask them questions about themselves! Everyone loves to talk about themselves-"
"Do they now?" You quirk an unamused brow. Tamaki completely overlooks your interjection.
You groan. It's going to be a long, long day...

Yoshiki: Uwah!
Yoshiki: What the...! Human heads!?
P3
Hikaru: No...If you look closer, these are carved out of wood.
Yoshiki: You're t-touching-?!
(sfx: smooth and dry)
Hikaru: Why...is something like this...
Hikaru: Ngh...it...
Hikaru: hurts...
(sfx: ears ringing)
Hikaru: Pa, what're these faces?
Hikaru: There's so many of them
P4
Kouhei: Scared?
Hikaru: Naw, I'm not scared at all. I'm already in the upper years* at elementary school!
Kouhei: They're all "heads" that have been offered up to Unuki-sama.
Kouhei: From a long time ago, this land has often suffered from misfortune
Kouhei: 'cause of that, life here has been especially poor and difficult
* refers to 5th to 6th grade at elementary school. So this flashback would probably be a year or less before Kouhei dies.
P5
Kouhei: So we have offered heads to Unuki-sama and asked for many different things
Kouhei: For an abundant harvest or for an end to a plague...
Kouhei: The offered head disappears on the spot
Kouhei: That's why we have carved replacement heads in order to hold funeral services for them in this hall
Hikaru: Then all of these heads are dead people?
Kouhei: That's right
Kouhei: We're the family that's managed this "hall" (dou) for generations so that's why we're the "Indou" family
Hikaru: Huh...
P6
Kouhei: The other parts of the body have to be buried as far away as possible
Kouhei: In order to do that more easily, the village was split into five parts.
Kouhei: 'cause of that, it just so happens to look like a human
Kouhei: Weird, right?
Hikaru:  Why? That's creepy...
Kouhei: Beats me...in the first place, why the parts needed to be buried so far away
Kouhei: isn't something well understood nowadays
P7
Hikaru: So whose heads are those heads anyway?
Kouhei: ...
Kouhei: Many of them were...people like the terminally ill and the elderly...who volunteered to become heads themselves...
Kouhei: But...
Kouhei: There's a small hokora at the outskirts of the village right?
Kouhei: When a traveling monk was forcibly made into a head, it was built out of fear that the monk would curse us in revenge
P8
Hikaru: ...So you mean they've been murdering people
Kouhei: ...that's right. It wasn't only that monk. Many others were killed and made into heads. Innocent people, when they wouldn't be noticed
Kouhei: Hikaru, this is the karma of this village
Kouhei: It must never be forgotten...
Kouhei: And the sin of the Indou family too...
P9
Hikaru: ...
(sfx: step)
Hikaru: As I thought, it's not here...
Hikaru: This is where "Hichi-san" was.
Yoshiki: ...Did you...
Yoshiki: remember something?
Hikaru: ...yeah.

Hikaru's Father
Indou Kouhei
Yoshiki took to him more than his own father
He was the type to thoroughly join in on the kids playing tag, and if you were caught by him, he would stick his boogers on you, so Yoshiki and Hikaru ran away desperately.

Just Married Couple Interview with Rihito Sajou and Hikaru Kusakabe - (Mariage Art Book Translation)
Tumblr media
Interviewer: Congratulations on your marriage! It was quite the lovely wedding. Hikaru & Rihito: Thank you very much. Interviewer: To start off with, how were you feeling when you exchanged the rings? Hikaru: At the ceremony? Interviewer: Yes. Could you tell us your feelings at the time? Hikaru: Hmmm. We'd already been wearing the rings for a while by that point, but I still got really emotional. Rihito: Me too. Interviewer: So they were the same rings you used to propose? Rihito: That's right. The rings themselves were our birthday gifts to each other, but there was a somewhat… deeper meaning to it. Hikaru: There were people around. Hikaru: I remember thinking like, "we just made a vow!" Or something. Interviewer: Of course, exchanging rings and having the people around you notice has a special meaning behind it.
[ Ever since high school, getting married was something they'd been thinking about. ]
Interviewer: Going back, how were you feeling when the two of you decided to have a wedding? Hikaru: I was the one who brought it up first, yeah? Rihito: You were. Hikaru: But like, ever since high school, getting married was something I'd kinda… Rihito: Been thinking about? Hikaru: Yeah, and I imagined princess carrying you too. Rihito: No way. Interviewer: How did you feel, Rihito-san? Rihito: Well, I was pretty taken aback… I'd never considered that it was a possibility for us. Interviewer: Did you feel happy? Rihito: Well, kind of… (Blushing) Hikaru: You totally did~ Interviewer: It's great to see how happy you two are together! Hikaru: We're very happy!
Interviewer: Now, the next question is, did you notice any changes in your mindset or behavior after the ceremony (or after deciding to hold it)? Hikaru: Mindset… Rihito: Well, we'd never cohabited before, so there was some uncertainty there. Interviewer: Did you have butterflies in your stomach thinking about how your daily lives would change? Hikaru: I figured that living together would help us fall into step with each other more and become each other's better halves quicker. I'm honestly happy. Rihito: Oh, is that so… Hikaru: Yeah, that sure is so indeed. Interviewer: Kusakabe-san's love is such a strong force! How sweet!! Rihito: (Turns bright red) Interviewer: So it seems that feeling of "happiness" is something you both share. Rihito: Well, I'll still be living in Kyoto for a little longer, so I don't think my life will change too much. Hikaru: Yeah, but we're married! So it'll feel different. Interviewer: So you're going to have a long distance marriage? Rihito: Until I can find a job in Tokyo. Hikaru: Oh yeah, when I visited Rihito, I'd make sure to say "I'm home!" every time I came through the door. It's also home to me. Rihito: That you did. Interviewer: Your respective families have gained a new addition, I imagine things have become more lively. (Laughs)
Tumblr media
[ The idea for a "Civil Ceremony" ]
Interviewer: On a different note, was there anything that left an impression on you with regards to the ceremony? Hikaru: We came up with the overall structure of it together. Rihito: While consulting the staff. Interviewer: Who was first to suggest the idea of a "civil ceremony"…? Rihito: Ohh, that… Hikaru: Was Rihito's idea. Interviewer: It's a ceremony where the people closest to you act as your witnesses, correct? Rihito: Well, I already said this to my husband (pointing at Kusakabe), but I didn't have a strong idea of what our marriage would look like. Hikaru: "My husband." Rihito: But when he so naturally said we should have a wedding… I remembered that civil ceremonies are a thing. What's wrong? Hikaru: Uh, just thinking it's nice to be called that. Rihito: …..Okay, anyway… We're here today because of the people around us, so us being able to convey our gratitude to them… it felt like the most fitting course of action. Hikaru: That's Rihito for you.
Interviewer: So you did it to thank the people who have supported you. Was there anything else that left an impression on you? Hikaru: Getting Beardy to be the MC comes to mind. Interviewer: By "Beardy" you mean… Hara-sensei, correct? Rihito: I think he's the most qualified for the role. Hikaru: If you don't pay close attention to him, sure... Rihito: Oh, don't be like that. Interviewer: He's been very familiar with you both since you were young, so he was a good choice. Hikaru: Oh yeah, Z'GOK also performed as live entertainment. Interviewer: It was a good opportunity for you and your high school bandmates to see each other again. Hikaru: Everyone had a blast. Especially with En-chan's death growl. Rihito: Hara-sensei also performed with his lovely voice. Interviewer: What kind of song did Hara-sensei sing? Hikaru: It sounded like Italian opera. He sang in a rich voice. Rihito: Wasn't it Nessun dorma? Hikaru: Nessun dorma? Rihito: The title of the song. Interviewer: An image of The Three Tenors comes to mind… I'd expect no less from an opera lover. Hikaru: Get it? OPERA? Rihito: Smooth… Interviewer: Thank you for the pun…!!
Tumblr media
[ Even in 10 years from now, I'd still want to live a normal life with you. ]
Interviewer: If you could say one thing to yourselves from around when you first met, what would it be? Hikaru: I'd whisper "you're gonna get married, you're gonna get married~" to them. Rihito: What the heck…? Interviewer: What about Rihito-san? Rihito: Let me think….. Hikaru: He's thinking hard. Rihito: I don't think I'd have much to say… Interviewer: ….. Rihito: Maybe, "you're going to be together someday… you might not fully understand yet, but please cherish each other…" Hikaru: That was beautiful. I'm in love. Rihito: Shut up. (blushing)
Interviewer: What an unexpectedly lovely thing to say! Now, onto the last section. What kind of people do you want to be in 10 years from now? Hikaru: We're gonna be old. Rihito: We won't be that old. Hikaru: I hope we'll be nice old men. Interviewer: You'll be in your thirties 10 years from now… Hikaru: The prime of life, huh. Rihito: We'll probaby both be busy. Interviewer: You mean to say, you have a clear idea of what lies ahead? Hikaru: Yeah. I mean, when you say "what lies ahead", the image of us being old men pops into my head. Rihito: My father-in-law is a lovely man, so that's probably why Hikaru has a positive outlook on getting old. Hikaru: I guess you're right. Hikaru: Either way, I just wanna live a normal life together. Eating together, taking baths together, and going to bed together. Rihito: (Does he imagine us doing any and everything together?) Interviewer: Kusakabe-san, you might become an amazing artist 10 years from now. Hikaru: Oh gee... Rihito: You'll probably be really busy soon, too. Interviewer: Sajou-san, you also have a future in devoting yourself to pharmaceutical research. Hikaru: But we're still gonna eat together, bathe together, and sleep together. Rihito: Is there anything we won't do together? Hikaru: Nothing.
Interviewer: (Laughs) I think it's a wonderful thing that you two want to continue living an ordinary life together. We're looking forward to seeing what the two of you get up to in your daily life moving forward. Hikaru: The happiness I feel from just living normally is something like a miracle. Rihito: …..I know what you mean. Hikaru: Interview's over, I wanna kiss. Rihito: Don't say that! Hikaru: I'm just saying what I really feel… Interviewer: Oh! Well, then… that's all for the interview. (Blushing) Hikaru: See ya. Rihito: Um, I'm really sorry about this. Interviewer: The two of you are at the beginning of your new married life together, but you shared wonderful words of wisdom with us! Thank you very much!

and it went bang! bang! bang! straight through my heart!
anime: ouran high school host club
characters: suoh tamaki, ootori kyoya, morinozuka 'mori' takashi
summary: giving the hosts a valentine's gift
a/n: g/n! reader, they/them pronouns and Mx used, second person pov, it's nowhere near valentine's day ❤️
↣ suoh tamaki:
"Oh? For me?" Tamaki chimes, voice dipping as he raises a brow towards you and lifts a leg over his knee. You stand in front of him, watching while he sips from his teacup. "My, my, sweetheart, I never would've guessed that you would go out of your way to buy me something."
You could smack that shit-eating grin off of his face. And something in your head says that it was a mistake to even show the present to him. "Well, you did help me with my French class, Tamaki." You exhale, placing the box on the small circle table that he sits at. It shifts with a quiet clap against the wood before you cross your arms over your chest. "It's a 'thank you'."
French might not have been your strongest class, but thanks to Tamaki's 'chivalrous' heart, you managed to pass with flying colours. You seriously didn't know what you would've done if it weren't for that moron.
Tamaki holds his chin in his palm, smiling up at his classmate. "Is that so?" He hums out, "And it's just a coincidence that you decided to hand it to me today of all days?"
"It's Valentine's Day, isn't that right?" You huff back, tilting your head at him, "Make what you will of this, I just came by to drop this off." Turning around, you wave your hand at the blonde and make your way to the exit. "If it's not up to your liking, feel free to give it to Kyoya."
The way you look at him over your shoulder is all that he needs in order to know that you were hoping he'd keep it. Whatever it was. You were slightly smiling, eyes softening once you see his blush on his face. He could be embarrassed by the fact that you've caught him, as if you knew his heart was racing all that much. But the way you close the door and sigh to yourself, makes him turn his head away with furrowed brows.
The first to speak on the strange behaviour is Kyoya. "Oh? Is our prince falling for the gifts given by a 'mysterious' stranger?" He hums, hand on his hip as he watches Tamaki had the gift under the table, "And what did Mx L/N give to you?"
"C'mon Boss, you gotta' open it in front of us!" Hikaru calls, leaning on one side of Tamaki's shoulders as his brother does to the other, "Maybe it's something frisky...? Is that you don't want to show us?"
Before he can react, Kaoru chuckles out, "Oh no, Hikaru, don't tease him too much! He's gone all red, look!"
The twins poke at Tamaki's cheeks in unison. "Our prince has fallen for his knight in shining armour!"
Tamaki almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. How stupid could these twins be? No way would Tamaki be falling for someone else... In fact, he had people fall for him.
It didn't matter what this present was. He was not falling for you just because of some gift. A gift on Valentine's Day. A day of love and appreciation.
And he was, in fact, feeling loved and appreciated.
Haruhi raises a brow. "Wouldn't Tamaki be the knight since he helped them with their homework?" She questions.
Honey jumps up, holding his bunny high in the air, "Yeah, but Tama-chan likes thinking about Y/N-chan saving him!" Mori agrees eith a nod of his head, picking up Honey and setting him on his shoulders.
"That's not true!" Tamaki shouts in retaliation, standing up and stalking to the changerooms to get some privacy. He hears the Twins' laughter die down as soon as he closes the door, present clutched in his hand. The slender box is violet, the same shade as his eyes. He wonders if you chose this colour specifically because of that.
His chest pumps as he opens the pretty present, revealing a beautiful silver watch. The time was already set correctly. Which meant you had gone through the trouble of getting it exact before handing it to him.
Not only that, but the name of the watch. He notices it's the same brand of jewellery as he wears in casual. You must've seen it.
"Oh wow..." He mutters to himself, slipping the watch out of the box and holding it up. "It's magnificent..."
"Yes, the only brand of jewellry that you accept to wear out." Kyoya is heard from the other side of the door. Tamaki almost jumps. "I always wondered why L/N was so invested in why I purchased different sets of earings for you."
Tamaki hums to himself, trying on the watch for size, "It fits."
"I may help slipped out some measurements while I was speaking to them." Kyoya cheekily replies, fixing his glasses, "Now, we open for business soon. Gather yourself, put the watch on and get out here."
With his disappearing footsteps, Tamaki finds himself smiling. He doesn't try to stop, only clicking the watch on and holding his hand close to his chest.
"What a sweetheart." He chuckles to himself, reminding himself to buy you something in return, "Trying to trick me on Valentine's day, no less..."
He really would need to thank you, in some way.
↣ ootori kyoya:
"Ah, Mx L/N. What a pleasant surprise." Kyoya says, tilting his head with a hand in his pocket. You freeze in your spot before standing up straight and holding your hands behind your back. He notices, of course, with what an observant guy he was. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"K—Kyoya, I... um..." You stammer, the collar of your uniform feeling just a bit too tight at the moment. He raises a brow at you, moving around to place his school bag on the hook of his desk. "Nothing. I'm sorry, I just... mixed up the seating plan, I thought this was mine."
He doesn't buy it one bit. Not with how you're shifting on your feet and looking around. "Is that so? But from what I know, you've got Biology with Haruhi." The way he says it, with such confidence, has you questioning your made-up excuse. "And that would be on Level 4, not here on Level 2. I don't believe your father would appreciate you skipping on that class, being the excellent doctor he is."
You blink at him as Kyoya plants a hand on his desk, leaning in your direction with a small smirk. "Is there, perhaps, something you need from me?" He hums.
A deep breath in and out is all you need to gather yourself. You pull out the box from behind you, looking back to him. He raises his brows. You huff out, "Happy Valentine's Day, Kyoya."
For the first time, he has no witty comeback. He stares at you and the small present in your palm. You've always been so kind to him, no matter what cocky front he'd put up in front of you. While you didn't visit the Host Club for the same reason all the other students did, you always managed to make it more fun for Kyoya to turn in for the day.
But he knows the look of someone who is in love. He's seen it on countless people who come to visit Tamaki and Haruhi, mostly. And you have the same look. Has he never noticed it before?
"Well, I... truly don't know what to say." He chuckles, taking the velvet box from your hands, "Thank you. May I open it now?"
The students that file into the classroom stop to stare at the both of you. Whispers spill out amongst them, making you a bit antsy. What would the Host Club come to if their brains was mixed in some scandal? Maybe you really shouldn't have done it now.
The look on his face, a warm smile and calm demeanour. You know he doesn't really mind right now. So a smile sets on your lips.
You let out a short laugh, "What? You can't wait to see what it is?"
Kyoya rolls his eyes.
"You can open it now, if you'd like." You respond, playing with the cuffs of your sleeves.
It would be an understatement to say you were nervous. What if he ended up not liking what you bought him? You took your time choosing it out. Okay, you really shouldn't have let him open the present now, the disappointment could be too much.
Too late, he's opening the box. Kyoya's eyes land on the silver circle lodged in the cushion of the box. There is a slanted, thick line on the front of it, embedded with black diamonds. Needless to say, it was a simple design, but it was still so beautiful to him.
The silence that overtakes the two of you only allows for the gasps to be heard. A bunch of 'no way's and 'is that a proposal's come out. While some believe it to be surprising, others awed at the cuteness of its romance.
It makes you nervous. "So, uh, you told me once that you lost that ring you were on casual days..." You begin, awkwardly filling the silence, "And you haven't had time to replace it so I, y'know, thought I would... get you... one. Is all."
Kyoya finally looks back up to you. The anxious expression on your face is cute to him. His glasses slip down his nose a little, resulting in him clearing his throat and pushing it back in its place. He sighs out, "That's very reasonable. And kind of you, Mx L/N."
You feel a proud smile roll onto your face. "Ah, I'm glad you like it, Kyoya." You chime, standing with joy, "And you can just call me Y/N. No need to be so formal now, right?"
He closes the box, putting it on his desk. Kyoya supposes you were right. You'd gone to the same Middle School and now High School. And you've crossed paths multiple times, even spending school activities and events side by side. It should be natural to call friends, or whatever, by their first names.
"Thank you, then... Y/N." He hums out. You nod your head in return, and he notices you playing with your now empty hands. A thought strikes him and Kyoya rubs the back of his neck. "Oh, I apologise." He says, upturning his brows with a sad smile, "I didn't buy you anything for this Valentine's Day."
You widen your eyes and shake your head. "You don't need to give me anything, Kyoya." You explain to him, "But I appreciate the thought, really. It's sweet of you." You pick up your bag from the floor beside his desk, turning to leave. "I should get going before class starts. See you later, yeah?"
A hand gently takes yours before you can get too far away. Kyoya wears a smile and slightly pink-dusted cheeks. "I can't allow myself to not repay you." He claims, brushing a thumb over your knuckles, "I think a date would suffice, hm?"
And how could you say 'no'?
↣ morinozuka 'mori' takashi:
He's a quiet man. Everyone knows that. The only person who hears the most out of him is Honey, and even that is only a handful of words. It's not really like he has to, anyway. Honey is there already. He talks enough for the both of them. But that didn't mean he could escape certain situations.
So, you could imagine the surprise on his face when you take the giant by the hand and drag him off just before the Club opens for business today.
"I need to borrow Mori for a moment, is that alright?" You ask, poking your head around the guy to look at Tamaki and Kyoya.
The two share a look between each other and turn to the tall Third Year. Mori is blinking at you and then at the Second Years, helpless. Kyoya hums, checking his clipboard, "Well, considering the line-up we have today with him—"
"Go ahead, Y/N!" Tamaki yells, covering Kyoya's mouth as he waves the both of you off, "Take all the time you need on this fine day! Good luck!"
You could punch that blonde in the face for how obvious he is. But screw yourself for accidentally spilling your Valentine's Day plans to him during Classic Literature class.
"But Honey—" Mori begins, looking towards his cousin who was sitting with some clients. Usa-chan sat on his lap as he ate his strawberry cake happily, girls gushing over his cuteness.
"Do not worry, I will take care of him." Kyoya speaks up, sending a supporting glance towards the both of you. Tamaki places his hands on his hips, nodding his head.
The doors close behind you as you drag Mori towards an empty area. Most people would be attending the Host Club during this time period, so it was good that the courtyard was empty. When you let go of Mori's hand, he stops walking and sees you do the same.
At first, he believes that he's done something wrong. You've never asked to speak in private to him before, and you have always been really patient and nice to him. The only time he has seen you upset was when Honey ate the piece of cake the Host Club (specifically Mori) had saved for you. You were really excited to have it, but felt your spirits drop a little when Honey admitted to have eaten it. He apologise profusely to you, and you forgave him.
But Mori knew deep down you were a bit disappointed. No matter how childish it felt, you kept it inside. Plus, you were even more excited when Mori presented you with a mini shortcake the day after.
You see the confusion on his face and chuckle, "It's okay, Mori, I just wanted to give you this." From your school bag, you pull out a wrapped box. It's in a deep blue colour with a tag reading 'To: MORINOZUKA' on it. The kind smile on your face eases his nervousness. "Happy Valentine's Day, Mori."
His fingers brush against the material of the wrapping before holding it in his palms. He looks down at it, as if it were the most delicate thing in the world. Maybe it was, since you had wrapped it so nicely. "You got me a Valentine's Day present?" He mumbles quietly.
"Yeah." You respond, closing you school bag and holding it at your side. He looks back at you and blinks cluelessly. "You want to open it now?"
He gives a slow nod of his head before sitting down on the bench close by. You follow behind after a few steps, setting beside him with your gaze locked on him. He seemed so small in times like these, where he didn't know what to say or do. It was cute in some sense. You always found yourself wanting to take a picture of him. Maybe that was weird...
He wouldn't think you were weird for this present, right?
The present is already uncovered. He raises his brows and stares at it. You disrupt his silence, an awkward mutter, "Just in case you're in... kendo training... or something, and you want to listen to something." You poke the box of headphones, the latest model. "You told me once that you don't play music since you wouldn't want to play it out loud. So... this way, you can compromise."
Mori could almost pass out by how kind you were being right now. He can't even suppress the smile on his lips. When you notice him, Mori rubs his cheek and sighs, "Thank you, L/N."
Oh god. Your heart feels like it's going to jump out of your chest. You lean back against the bench, looking across the yard to the fountain presented to you. "You can call me 'Y/N', if you want. We've been friends for a while now."
He doesn't really talk much, but it's pretty telling that you want him to go out of his way to speak out your first name. On top of that, your Valentine's Day present? Were you being too forward?
"Call me 'Takashi'." He huffs back, standing up with his new present tucked under his arm securely. You stare up at his figure and the pink hue dusting over his cheeks. He looks back to you, extending his other hand. "We should head back now, Y/N."
As your heart flutters, you take his hand and stand up, making your way back to the Host Club. You couldn't miss Tamaki's face pressed up against the window of the music room that could oversee the courtyard. Nor Honey and the Hitachiin Twins spectating expressively too.
"Hey Takashi?" You say, feeling Mori squeeze your hand a little tighter at his name, "Do you want to go out for dinner tomorrow?"
He knows what you mean when you say 'dinner'. You meant 'date'. And while he was used to the Host Club type of 'date', he could feels his chest twist with nerves at your type. He didn't want to mess up, and how should he even act?
Nevertheless, he responds quickly, "Yes, I do."

you'd expect libraries to be quiet. not at ouran. haruhi fujioka, a first-year high school and scholarship student, wandered the halls of the rich school dressed in less than rich clothes, talking to her mother in heaven in her thoughts. pausing at an abandoned music room, she eyed the sign out the front before opening the door in hope of finding a place to study peacefully.
how wrong haruhi was...
roses came flying out the door in a whirlwind and a symphony of male voices reached her ears not long after.
'welcome,' they greeted calmly, positioned in a strange assemblage that made them look as if they were in a modelling magazine instead of an empty music room.
────── 〔✿〕──────
“only those with excellent social standing and those from filthy rich families are lucky enough to spend their time here at the elite private school, ouran academy. the ouran host club is where the school's handsomest boys with too much time on their hands, entertain young ladies who also have way too much time on their hands. just think of it as ouran academy's elegant playground for the super-rich and beautiful,” a purple-eyed boy explained to a shocked haruhi.
“this is a host club?” haruhi asked timidly, backing up against the door.
“oh, wow, it's a boy,” a pair of twins noted.
a tall boy with glasses was next to join the conversation. “hikaru, kaoru, i believe this young man is in the same class as you, isn't he?”
“yeah, but he's shy,” the twins complained in unison, turning to face the boy with glasses. “he doesn't act very sociably so we don't know much about him.” in response to the twin's findings, the boy with glasses smirked and shrugged, a light bulb going off in his head.
“well, that wasn't very polite,” he said. “welcome to the ouran host club, mr honour student.”
the purple-eyed boy's interest piqued at the revelation. “what? you must be haruhi fujioka! you're the exceptional honour student we've heard about.” at the mention of her name, she stopped struggling.
“how did you know my name?” she inquired uncomfortably, turning her head to face the group.
hearing the commotion, you emerged from the storage cupboard, “you're infamous,” you stated.
“it's not every day a commoner gains entrance into our academy,” the boy with glasses finished. “you must have an audacious nerve to work hard enough to fight your way into this school as an honour student, mr fujioka.”
“kyoya..." you muttered, disappointed by his rude phrasing.
“well, uh, thank you, i guess," haruhi responded, visibly defeated by kyoya's blunt words.
“you're welcome!” the purple-eyed boy draped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into his side. “you're a hero to other poor people, fujioka. you've shown the world that even a poor person can excel at an elite private academy!” haruhi shuffled away awkwardly; this did not stop the boy at all. “it must be hard for you to constantly be looked down upon by others,” he continued, following haruhi around flamboyantly.
“i think you're taking this poor thing too far, tamaki," you commented as you watched tamaki chase after haruhi.
“spurned, neglected, but that doesn't matter now, long live the poor! we welcome you, poor man, to our world... of beauty!”
“i'm out of here..." haruhi muttered, heading for the door.
this time, the smallest of the bunch ran forward and grabbed haruhi by the arm. “hey! come back here, haru-chan! you must be like a superhero or something, that's so cool!”
“i'm not a hero, i'm an honour student.” by now, haruhi had had enough of the host club. then it dawned on her... “and who are you calling haru-chan?!”
upset and scared by the sudden outburst, the small student ran away. “[name]!” he whined, clinging to your torso. you wrapped your arms around him and at that moment, haruhi realised you weren't much taller than the boy. maybe 5′0 at the most.
“mitsukuni.” a deep voice called and the small boy turned at the sound of his name.
“takashi!” you sighed at honey's enthusiasm and released him, allowing him to hang by the taller host.
“i never would've imagined the famous scholar...would be so openly gay,” tamaki said aloud. haruhi's discomfort at this comment made you realise the honour student was in fact a female. “so, tell me what kind of guys you're into. do you like the strong silent type?”
at the mention of his 'brand', mori turned to face haruhi.
“the boy lolita?”
honey wiped his tears away.
“how about the mischievous type?”
the twins struck a pose back to back.
“or the cool type?” kyoya glanced at haruhi with a straight face.
haruhi stuttered at the situation and staggered back slightly. “uh, i, uh, i-i-it's not like that, i was just looking for a quiet place to study!”
tamaki pulled haruhi's chin up to face him, “or maybe...you're into a guy like me. what do you say?” haruhi jumped back to escape his grasp, banging into a wooden pedestal with a vase on it. realising her mistake, she turned around and tried to grab the handle. at the same time, you rushed forward and tried to catch the vase before it hit the ground. the smash rung in everyone's ears.
hikaru and kaoru groaned in unison, “we were going to feature that renaissance vase in an upcoming school auction,” hikaru complained.
“now you've done it, commoner, the bidding on that vase was supposed to start at 8 million yen!" kaoru explained.
“what?! 8 million yen?!" haruhi exclaimed, “how many thousand yen is that? how many thousands are in a million?” she wondered to herself. “uh, I'm gonna have to pay you back...”
you winced, “with what money?” you asked gently, “from the looks of it, you're having trouble affording the uniform...”
“what's with that grubby outfit you've got on, anyway?" kaoru asked.
“well, what do you think we should do, tamaki?" you picked up some shards of the vase, cutting your finger lightly on the edge of one, your brows furrowing slightly at the sharp pain.
tamaki sat down in a chair and crossed one leg over the other. “there's a famous saying you may have heard, fujioka." he pointed a finger at her, “when in rome, you should do as the romans do. since you have no money, you can pay with your body. that means starting today, you're the host club's dog.”
while haruhi was in a state of shock, honey jabbed her arm. “poke, poke?” haruhi's body flopped to the ground, only mildly surprising the club members.
────── 〔✿〕──────
you sat at your table, engrossed in your work as you waited for your guests to arrive. your tools were laid out neatly on the table and the blank doll slowly came to life as you painted a face onto it.
“[name]!” some girls called as they walked past your table. you smiled at them, gently waving.
“hey, how are you?” you asked.
“i'm good, but we wanted to know how you manage to make the doll look so realistic,” a girl inquired, the remaining girls nodding in agreement.
“oh, you kind of just get better the more you do it. classic practice makes perfect, you know?” the girls' eyes widened and comments about your talent floated around the club area. “oh geez...” you mumbled, noticing tamaki going off to haruhi about tips on how to be a host and why host clubs are important. “excuse me, ladies.”
────── 〔✿〕──────
“are you sure it's really ok for me to keep this uniform?” haruhi wondered, pulling the curtain back as she revealed the transformation she had undergone.
“cute! you're as pretty as a girl! adorable!” tamaki cooed, much to your amusement.
“haru-chan, you look so cute!” honey exclaimed.
“if we had known that's how you really look,” hikaru began.
“we would've helped you out sooner,” kaoru finished.
“who knows, maybe he'll draw in some customers,” kyoya stated.
“you know, that's just what I was thinking,” tamaki replied. “our errand boy is moving up the ranks. starting today, you are an official member of the host club!” haruhi looked at the small crowd around her. “i will personally train you to be a first-rate host.”
“if you can get 100 customers to request your service, we will completely forget about your 8 million yen debt,” you offered calmly.
“a host?” haruhi asked, obviously shocked.
────── 〔✿〕──────
now that haruhi was part of the host club, you had added waiting staff. you dropped by haruhi's area more often than the rest to get haruhi used to the atmosphere of being in the host club. you could clearly tell she was uncomfortable being around these girls, but quickly realised how easily it came to her when she began telling her customers about her mother.
“why is he so popular?” tamaki mumbled.
“he's a natural,” you answered.
“no training needed,” the twins noted in sync.
“have you forgotten about me?” the girl sitting beside tamaki asked haughtily.
“oh no, sorry, princess,” tamaki said. “i'm just a little bit concerned about our newest host.”
“well, that's obvious, tamaki. you sure have been keeping an eye on him,” she continued.
“of course, i have to. i'm training him to be a gentleman like me.” tamaki snapped his fingers. “haruhi, come here for a minute,” he instructed, gesturing for her to come over to his table.
“what's up?” haruhi asked.
“i'd like you to meet someone. this is my regular guest, princess ayanokoji," he introduced.
“miss, it's a pleasure to meet you.” at haruhi's greeting, tamaki stood up, spinning haruhi in circles.
“that was so cute!” he began, continuing his onslaught of compliments as you eyed princess ayanokoji. she was surprised by tamaki's sudden display of emotion.
“um, tamaki..." she said, trying to catch his attention. for her own selfish reasons or to save haruhi, no one knew.
“mori-senpai! help me!” haruhi pleaded. as quick as possible, mori - or as you lovingly liked to call him, takashi - stood and lifted haruhi out of tamaki's arms. as he held her in the air, his cheeks dusted with a light blush, realising haruhi is in fact female.
“mori-senpai? you really didn't have to go that far," tamaki commented sheepishly. you began taking the empty tableware away, noticing the cold stare princess ayanokoji was giving haruhi before turning it onto you.
────── 〔✿〕──────
haruhi began digging around in the pond, which didn't go unnoticed by you and tamaki. the longer she looked, the more inclined they felt to help. the sound of splashes made haruhi look up from her searching.
“h-hey, you don't have to do that, you'll get wet,” haruhi said, looking at the pair joining her in the search for her lunch money.
“a little water never hurt anyone,” you said, running your hands along the floor of the pond.
“besides, people are always telling me that i'm dripping with good looks,” tamaki added. “hang on a second.” he rose to full height, holding out a wallet, “this what you're looking for?”
“what's the matter? you're staring off into space,” you noted.
tamaki moved closer to haruhi, holding out the wallet to her. “you're not falling for me, are you?” he teased.
haruhi tensed at the comment, snatching her wallet from his hands, “no way!”
“how did your bag end up in the pond, anyway?” tamaki wondered.
“well, uh, i guess i accidentally dropped it out the window at some point.”
you looked at the window, noticing the figure of tamaki's regular guest. you frowned and quickly left the yard.
────── 〔✿〕──────
a sudden crash turned everyone's attention onto haruhi and princess ayanokoji.
“no, haruhi! leave me alone! somebody help, he just attacked me!” the princess screamed. “someone do something! teach this commoner a lesson!” she demanded. you looked at the twins and nodded. they each took a jug full of water and poured it onto the pair on the floor. “why did you do that?" she asked. as tamaki helped her up, you began to clean the mess, letting out a small yelp of pain when a shard of glass reopened the cut on your hand from when haruhi broke the vase, alerting a 6′4 giant. “do something, tamaki. haruhi just assaulted me," ayanokoji whined.
“i'm disappointed in you,” tamaki stated. “you threw his bag into the pond, didn't you?”
“you don't know that,” she replied quickly. “do you have any proof that I did?”
“you know, you're a beautiful girl, but you aren't classy enough to be our guest, dear. if there's one thing i know, haruhi is not that kind of a man,” tamaki said firmly.
“why, tamaki? you idiot!" ayanokoji ran out of the music room in a fit.
“hm, now how am i going to punish you? because it is your fault, after all.” haruhi stared at tamaki from the ground. “your quota is now 1,000!” still soaking in the new information, tamaki held his hand out for haruhi, “come on, i've got high expectations for you, my little rookie.”
────── 〔✿〕──────
you held up a paper bag, “this is the only spare uniform we have.”
“sorry, but it's better than a wet one, right?” kyoya said.
“thanks a lot, you guys, i'm gonna go change,” haruhi informed.
as she left the room, mori approached you, holding out his hand in an attempt to get you to show him the cut, which you understood. “it doesn't hurt that bad,” you said, holding your hand out. he inspected it briefly, leaving to get a bandage to cover it until club was over. “thanks, takashi.”
“yeah.”
────── 〔✿〕──────
“haruhi, here you go. i brought you some towels,” tamaki said, opening the curtain to hand them to her. haruhi turned around, her white buttoned shirt half off and the singlet she wore underneath her uniform showing. tamaki loosened his grip on the curtain, letting it fall shut once more. “haruhi?”
“yeah?”
“so... you're a girl?”
“biologically speaking, yeah,” haruhi replied, opening the curtain to reveal herself in the girls uniform, driving tamaki nuts as he began to scream incoherently. “listen, senpai, i don't really care if you guys recognise me as a boy or a girl. in my opinion, it's more important for a person to be recognised for who they are rather than for what sex they are.”
“well, isn't this an interesting development,” kyoya noted.
“oh, yeah," the twins responded.
“uh, you know, i have to say, senpai, i thought you were pretty cool earlier,” haruhi commented, causing a bright red blush to spread across tamaki's face.
“now, i could be wrong, but i think we may be witnessing the beginnings of love, here,” kyoya said to you, earning a nod in response.
“being a host and getting fussed over by a bunch of girls might not be that bad. i wonder how i can pull it off...” haruhi wondered aloud to herself. “i've got it! i'll just call everyone 'dude' and 'bro', now,” she said, laughing at her newfound revelation.
────── 〔✿〕──────
“you know, you look good in the girls uniform despite how tacky it is," you complimented.
haruhi laughed at the comment, “thanks, but i don't look as good in either uniform as you.” you stuttered out a thank you before gently denying it. “you do, though, right?” haruhi turned to the closest members, mori and honey, who nodded in agreement with small smiles on their faces, making you even more embarrassed.
maybe there would be good things that came out of smashing an expensive vase...

The Big Bad Wolf
Part VIII
Word Count: 4,683
Warnings: cursing, rumors, Canon fighting
Notes: I had to stop this before it got too long. I'm hoping to get the next part later, but it really depends on how quickly I can get my self-imposed chores done :/ Enjoy!!
Konoha’s rumor mill was truly an astounding thing. You were bombarded with questions regarding your alleged relationship with the Hokage before even stepping foot into the Tower. You attempted dispelling the rumors, but to no avail; you could tell by their expressions that they didn’t believe a word of your denial.
Whispers followed you to his door, where you knocked more frantically than you meant in your attempt to get away from all of the stares. You tried desperately not to make eye contact with anyone, lest they take it as an opportunity to ask you more questions. Thankfully, you were allowed entry shortly after your knock.
As soon as the door opened to reveal you, Lord Sixth loudly jested, “Oh, look who it is; my secret lover!”
You slammed the door shut behind you and through gritted teeth said, “Don’t encourage them,”
He was obviously very amused by the situation, with the way his eyes crinkled and how he lazily leaned back in his tall chair. You wondered whether people weren’t bothering him, or if he was just used to all the attention.
You were drenched from the rain, your hair dripping and your shoes leaving a trail of water in their wake as you went to place your reusable bag on his desk. It hit the wood with a muted clank that somewhat satisfied your growing exasperation.
You pinched the bridge of your nose. “I keep telling people I’m not, but when they found out I was bringing you dinner they just went ham,”
Kakashi chuckled heartily, and went about sweeping the scattered scrolls and paperwork onto one corner of the desk so he could see what you had brought him. He slid the bag in front of him and carefully removed the glass containers and utensils.
You were becoming increasingly aware of the puddle forming on the floor the longer you stood at his desk. You watched uncomfortably as he opened the first container, a warm, comforting smell wafted through the air, and he looked quite pleased.
“I should have warned you before you came; our love affair has been all anyone has talked about all day… is this Oyakadon?”
“Yeah, I thought it would be good for the rainy weather,” you hinted.
He looked up at you and seemed to only realize right then that you were soaked to the bone. You watched recognition form on his face, immediately followed with apologetic eyes.
“Shit, I’m sorry. You didn’t have to make the trip in the rain, I would have been fine,”
You huffed and crossed your arms over your chest. “I told you I would, so I did. It’s not like I won’t have to go back out in it to get Hikaru,”
“Still,”
Both of you remained silent for a few moments. He gazed into your eyes like he was trying to read your thoughts, which was a little unnerving. If he could read your thoughts, he would have caught you calling him a ‘real oddity’.
“Well, are you gonna eat or what?” You broke the silence.
“Right,” He picked up his chopsticks and brought some chicken and sticky rice up.
He paused, and you raised a brow. “Thank you,”
“You’re welcome,”
You waved your hand dismissively and turned on your heel, satisfied and ready to pick up your son, something you assumed you would only just make it on time for.
“Leaving so soon? Our audience outside will be very disappointed,”
You stopped mid-stride and glanced over your shoulder. If he wasn’t wearing a mask, you would have witnessed a shit-eating grin. You chose to ignore the second part of his statement.
“Sorry, but duty calls, Loverboy,”
You only brought dinner two more times that week; afraid anymore would solidify the rumors following you lately. The attention caused you a great amount of anxiety, so you tried to focus your attention elsewhere. Namely, with Obito.
The two of you spent the better part of the week trying to decide what he was going to do. He seemed to be entertained by shooting down any suggestion you could come up with, which only served to irritate you. And that seemed to entertain him, too.
On Thursday, you suggested woodworking, since he seemed to have exceptional attention to detail.
He was sitting on the couch, arms crossed behind his head and an ankle resting over his knee. He hummed in faux contemplation.
“Nah,”
You threw the rag you had been dusting with down and spun to face him with surprising speed. His amusement was clearly visible and it only made you bristle.
“I’m gonna kick your ass!” you jabbed a finger at him to punctuate your words.
“I’d like to see you try,” He drawled.
“Why you-!”
“Now that’s not actually a bad idea, can’t remember the last time I sparred,”
“Get your ass outside then,” you growled.
You were just short of stomping behind him as you followed him to the door where he put his shoes on. You intentionally knocked into him as you went out the door.
He laughed at your antics, and you couldn’t help but feel a little twinge of all your pent up anger and anxiety leave you. He followed behind you at a languid pace to the backyard and positioned himself a short distance across from you.
You couldn’t help but notice the way his upper arm muscles flexed as he raised them in front of his body under his grey long sleeve shirt. He was quickly putting on weight, that was clear.
All defiance and anger dissipated the moment his brows dipped as his expression became serious. His dark eyes flickered with an intensity that made the hair on your neck stand on end. All of the sudden, you remembered that this man was literally a war criminal - the war criminal and he was beyond powerful, even in his weakened state.
You dropped your fighting stance. You let out a nervous laugh as he did the same. “You know what, I changed my mind. I haven’t fought anyone in years, it wouldn’t be much of a fight,”
You could tell he understood exactly what you were trying to say, and you thought he would give it up, but then he said: “Come on, you brought me all the way out here. I thought you said you were hot shit, with all your training with Genma,”
You inhaled deeply. “Fine, just- don’t break any of my bones, please,”
You both returned to your starting stances.
“Only taijutsu?”
“Only taijutsu,”
Without warning, he swung a fist at you. The reaction in your body was instantaneous, like you had never stopped training. You simultaneously ducked while taking hold of his wrist; using his own momentum to send him flying towards the ground.
He tucked and rolled onto his feet, hardly giving you a chance to turn around before he was on you again. You blocked his next advance with some effort, your muscles straining against his strength, a telltale sign it had been too long since you had done this.
Your heart beat rapidly as you narrowly avoided a kick to the side. You took on the offensive position, hardly able to keep up with him as you continued your dance. You searched for anything that would give you an advantage, but at this rate you were coming up empty. He wasn’t letting up or giving you time to recover, and you could hear your own breathing becoming labored.
This was, however, one of the most exciting things you had done in years. To stretch your mind and muscles was a real treat, and you found yourself thoroughly enjoying it. The next punch he threw, you grabbed hold of his wrist with one hand and used his shoulder to leverage yourself to roll off his back and behind him. You swiped a leg and caught him by the ankles, sending him onto his hands and knees.
You all but collapsed onto your bottom, not giving him a chance to come back at you to fully finish the fight. You panted as he stood up with a grunt. You were pleased to see a bead of sweat on his forehead when he turned towards you.
He stood over you and held out a hand to help you up, a bright smile gracing his handsome face. You took his hand and let him do all the work of pulling you up. He was able to do it as if you wighed no more than a feather.
“You surprised me,”
You put your hands against your thighs, panting but happy with your success. “Shoulda seen me.. at my best.. fuck am I outta shape,”
His grin only widened. “I guess we found an activity to occupy me,”
“Asolutely not,”
“C’mon, it’ll be fun. Besides, I thought you said you were gonna support me?” His grin turned to a sly smile that suited him all too well.
You glared at him while you gave yourself a second to think it over. “I’ll make you a deal,”
“I’m listening,”
“I’ll spar with you a couple times a week IF you choose another activity by the end of the day - and if you can’t decide I’ll choose it for you.”
“Deal,” he replied without hesitation.
“That means you actually have to partake in the activity,”
He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, I will,”
“Good,”
He didn’t choose anything, instead partaking in a whole lot of snacking and a bit of reading while your tired arms started on your project of staining the floors. The next day, you brought over your sewing supplies that had been sitting on the top shelf of your coat closet, begging to be used.
He wasn’t enthused by your decision, but you reminded him of your deal, so he went about figuring out what kind of project to begin. On Monday, you came to work to find him passed out on the couch, and probably over a hundred small triangle and rectangle shaped pieces of fabric strewn about with a pair of scissors open on the floor next to his hand.
By the end of the week, he had made significant progress with his quilting project, even though he spent a good portion of time begging you to train with him in between working on it. He had drawn out a ridiculously complicated pattern for a quilt (because it’s mentally stimulating, he says) and most of the squares had been made out of the smaller pieces seemingly overnight.
You brought news of his progress, along with a picture of a couple squares to Kakashi with his dinner.
Kakashi was incredibly pleased, to say the least. He complimented your performance, and you couldn’t help but feel proud. You two chatted a while longer, commenting on the latest gossip surrounding you two, which people couldn’t seem to get enough of, and how his work was going.
You still had a spring in your step and a small smile still on your face from his compliments on your walk to pick Hikaru up from school. The dead leaves crunched underfoot and the tip of your nose went numb from the cold. It was becoming dark already, and it made the already chilling breeze bitterly cold.
You pulled your hat down to cover the tips of your ears to avoid them getting the same treatment as your nose. Despite the cold, you enjoyed the evening walk. Lights flickered to life in peoples’ windows, illuminating the street. It was nice to just listen sometimes; the chatter of people walking by, the meow of an ally cat, the fabric of your coat rubbing as you swung your arms in time with your steps.
Far too soon, you arrived at the school. Although you loved your son dearly, you relished the time you spent alone on your daily walks. A dusting of warmth greeted you as you opened the door, and you let out a little contented sigh. You walked slowly to his classroom, and upon entering little arms wrapped around your right leg in a chokehold.
On the days you saw Kakashi, he was one of the last kids to be picked up and he was always excited to see you. You ruffled his hair and lifted him into your arms while a teacher came around with his coat and helped you put it on him. You thanked them and waved goodbye; your little boy tucking his hooded head into your shoulder for the journey home.
He fell asleep that way, and you tried your best to quietly let yourself into your apartment and gently put him in his own bed. You carefully removed his extra layers and cracked the door behind you. After shedding your own layers, you headed to the bathroom for a hot shower. You decided to check your phone while the water warmed up and saw a text from Genma
Hey, I’m having a bday party 3 wks from today. Think we’re going to Your Place. Think you can make it?
That would be Hikaru’s dad’s weekend, so theoretically, yes. The question was moreso whether you wanted to go. You really didn’t have the energy to party these days, especially at a fancy club. He would be really excited if you went though, and if you didn’t already have plans..
You sighed. He had been trying to hang out with you for the last couple of weeks, but you two hadn’t been able to find a good time to do it. With his schedule unpredictable and you always having Hikaru, it was nearly impossible for both of you to be available at the same time.
You wouldn’t have to stay more than an hour. Just make a little appearance, have a single drink, and go home, you reasoned.
Yes, text me the time closer to the date Anything you want for your bday?
Another week flew by as a dedicated Obito worked on his massive project and you went about your regular business with the addition of finishing the floors. The two of you sparred a few times, but you weren’t lucky enough to win any of those. Your body was sore from the beatings it took, but it was actually great exercise for your mind, and it had you feeling really good - energized, even.
You enjoyed watching Obito become engrossed with his project; the way his face scrunched and his shoulders hunched when he was particularly focused. In turn, he was appreciative to see you start showing up to work in your oversized sweaters and comfortable pants as the cold outside persisted. You looked so adorable he even let you boss him around on Friday. He chopped wood for the fireplace and the two of you stacked them neatly against the side of the house. He even helped you clean out the fireplace, which covered both of you in dust and soot. He would have been irritated had you not giggled and brushed a hand through his hair and against his cheek to try to remove it, only to make it worse.
He was nearly finished with the quilt by the following Tuesday. He had only a few squares left to attach, so you decided to cook him one of your favorite meals growing up. It was a dish for special occasions, you had told him that morning before you ran to the store to buy a few ingredients.
You returned with a whole chicken and bacon, and set about your task. “My great grandma used to make this for us for the holidays before she passed,”
Obito sat at the kitchen table so that he could be closer to you while he finished his project. He had noticed the atmosphere between the two of you had become much more lax since you had begun the sparring sessions. There was only a hint of professionalism left, and even then you had to squint to see it. More and more he found himself wanting to be closer to you. At first, the desperation and longing for another human’s presence was dissipating with your continued visits. Now, though, he felt that longing tenfold, but in a different way, because it wasn’t just for another human anymore, it was for you.
Even the sparring was an excuse for him to be close to you; to touch you. His fingers always twitched in your presence, always seeking contact he wasn’t allowed to have. You were like a magnet, and he couldn’t escape the pull, not that he wanted to.
“Was she from Akujia, too?” He asked absently, rethreading his needle.
“Yeah, about half of my dad’s family is,”
“Do you ever miss it?”
You contemplated for a moment while you added a plethora of spices to the large pot. “No, I don’t think so. I miss my grandma, and I get a little overly sentimental about some of my childhood memories, but Akujia as a whole is not a good place,”
“I’ve only been there once, and it’s safe to say I wasn’t welcome,” he glanced over at you.
“I’m not surprised. There’s a reason my family moved here,”
You stopped the conversation there and moved around to the cabinets to find a can of green beans. You found them and set them on the counter with the other ingredients for one of your side dishes. While you worked, you became increasingly aware of the temperature difference next to the stove compared to the rest of the kitchen. A shiver ran down your spine while you were away from it, washing the cutting board in the sink.
“Are you cold?”
You startled, not expecting his raspy voice to come from right behind you. How was he always behind you?
“Are you deliberately trying to give me a heart attack?” You half-heartedly glared over your shoulder at him.
“Sorry, old habits die hard,”
And then, "Aren't you supposed to be a shinobi?"
"There's no danger I need to be on edge about here," You stated matter-of-factly.
You glanced at him again, and he opened his mouth to say something but was rudely interrupted by the loud ringing of your cellphone. You made an apologetic face and wiped your hands off on a kitchen towel.
You fished it out of your bag and answered without checking the caller ID.
“Hello?”
“Hi, this is Sage, am I speaking to Hikaru’s mom?”
“Oh, hi, yes,”
“Yeah, um, Hikaru is running a fever, so he needs to go home,”
You pulled the phone away just long enough to look at the time. It was only 11am. You tried not to sigh audibly, but Obito saw it on your face.
“Okay, I’ll be there as soon as I can,”
“Alright, thanks. We’ll see you soon!”
You put the phone back in your bag and quickly turned to Obito. "Could you start a fire while I'm out please?"
"Sure, but-"
"I'll be back before you know it," You called, somehow already halfway out the door.
Obito hesitantly followed your direction and started a fire in his large fireplace. He appreciated the way the newly stained wood surrounding the hearth reflected the flames in a warm glow. The pretty image didn’t distract him more than a few seconds; his thoughts centered on you and why you had to leave.
He was concerned about what you had to rush out the door for. All he could conceive was an emergency Kakashi had called on you for, but even then he wasn't sure how plausible that was. Possibly a family emergency, maybe even danger?
He stirred your green beans a few times in between pacing around. It was rather unfortunate that his brain could only conjure the worst scenarios. He tried his best to ignore his intrusive thoughts, but his mental fortitude was not at its peak these days. It was a very distressing forty-five minutes for him.
He was more than relieved to hear your footsteps approaching his door, and ran a hand through his hair one last time as you opened it. And the sight before him was nothing his mind could have conjured. His eyes widened as you shut the door behind you. In your arms was a little boy in an oversized coat, his head tucked tightly under your chin.
“Sorry it took so long, I had to ask Kakashi how to get him through the barrier,” You slung a backpack off of your shoulder and onto the floor next to the couch.
You weren’t looking at him; your focus was solely on the little boy. You gently tugged his coat off and tried to lay him down on the couch, but his little arms clung to your neck in a death grip. His face scrunched up like he was going to cry and you softly shushed him until he relaxed back into your arms.
You finally chanced a glance at Obito, who wore an unreadable expression. “You.. who’s kid?”
Obito regretted the bluntness of his tone when you flinched at his question. He didn’t want to be rude to you, he was just very confused. Not once did he think he would be seeing a kid again while he was stuck in his lifelong house arrest (with possibility of parole in ten years, his mind reminded him, though he was fairly sure it would not be granted).
“He’s mine,” you said in a small voice.
“Wait, what?”
You ran your fingers through your son’s brown curls and hugged him tighter to your chest. You nervously averted your eyes.
“I’m sorry I didn’t bring it up before, I just…” you trailed off.
You straightened your back, made eye contact with him and spoke up, “I guess it’s a long story why. Anyway,”
You walked up to stand next to him. You peeled your son’s face away from your chest just enough so Obito could fully see his face. Now that he could actually see him, he couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance between the two of you. You shared the same eye color, nose and chins, and he was sure if the boy smiled it would be an exact replica of yours. The boy blinked slowly at him with bleary eyes.
“This is Hikaru,”
You turned your head to look up at him. “I’m sorry for bringing him, I should have asked. I just really wanted to cook this dinner for you and I don’t have anyone else to take him,”
Obito shook his head. “No, it’s just uh, unexpected. I had no idea,”
He stared at Hikaru, who stared right back. You didn’t comment and took him back over to the couch, where he let you put him down this time. You took off his shoes and pulled a small blanket out of the backpack you had brought with you. He curled up into a little ball while you tucked him in and pressed a kiss to his temple.
Obito watched you tenderly brush his hair back and whisper to him with the gentlest expression he could ever recall seeing. Your eyes softened just for him and he could see in your movements just how much you loved your son. He felt out of place witnessing such an intimate moment, but he couldn’t force his eyes away. He would be lying if he said seeing you like this didn't do something dangerous to his heart.
You pressed your fingers to his temple and a soft green glow emitted from them. You stood when his eyes fully closed and you had pressed one last kiss to his forehead. You were still wearing that sweet expression when you made eye contact with Obito again, and it made his heart rate pick up.
A sudden pang of envy reverberated in his stomach and chest. How different would his life have been had someone only loved him like that when he was young?
“I’m sorry, just let me do one more thing before I get back to it,”
He only nodded. He watched you peel a couple garlic cloves and crush them before returning to your son’s side. “I know this looks weird as fuck, but it really helps,”
You took his socks off and pressed the crushed cloves against the bottoms of his feet before putting them back on him. You started getting up but halted upon seeing his expression. "You're not mad, are you?"
He hadn't realized he was glaring until you said something. It instantly dropped. "No, why would I be mad?"
You shrugged one shoulder. "I dunno, maybe you don't like kids or something,"
There was a heaviness to your tone that he decidedly did not like, and he was sure he was not the sole cause of it. He opened his mouth and closed it a few times, unsure how to express the plethora of emotions he was experiencing at that moment.
"I don't.. not like kids," He managed lamely.
"Hm,"
You took your place back at the sink and turned the water on so you could finish taking care of your dishes. He took a spot close to you and leaned his back against the counter so he could still see your face. He didn't know where to begin, because how had he spent 5 days a week with you for like, two months now without ever hearing about you having a literal toddler?
The most important question to his heart in that moment, however, was: "Are you married then, or?"
You let out a derisive snort. "No. I wouldn't be here if I was,"
"What's that supposed to mean?" There was an edge of offense to his voice.
You set your mouth in a straight line before answering, "His father wouldn't allow me to work, especially not anywhere near another man,"
Your eyes were hard when you made eye contact with him. "That's why I haven't trained in years,"
His lips formed an "O". He thought about it for long enough that you finished the dishes and started cleaning the countertops.
You worked quietly for a long while. He went and finished his quilt after watching you for a bit, questions swirling in his mind. He was curious, but you looked like you didn’t want to be bothered after sharing that little tidbit about your past relationship.
“Thank you,” you said unprompted.
You stood next to his spot at the table with a troubled expression. “For what?”
“Not prying, and not getting upset about me bringing him. It wasn’t right for me to spring that on you, and I’m sorry for that,”
“It’s really alright, sure it was unexpected, but I don’t mind. You don’t have to apologize,”
You looked to the side out of the kitchen window and stated distantly, “I lost a lot of friends when I got pregnant. I’m appreciative of your minimal reaction,”
“… is that why you never mentioned him?”
“Probably,”
“So, you consider me a friend, then?”
The corner of your lips quirked up. “Is that what I said?”
“Hm, pretty sure, yeah,” He smirked.
You took your attention away from the window and gave him a real smile. You leaned towards him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Your touch felt like flames licking across his muscles and it took the majority of his attention not to show it.
“Of course I do. Only a true friend could annoy me and entertain me at the same time,”
“You’re such an ass,” he rolled his eyes.
“As your friend-” you started.
“I’m your friend, I didn’t say anything about you being mine,”
You seemed to change your mind about continuing whatever you were going to say. You simply shook your head and started towards the hallway.
“Wait, what were you going to say?”
“Don’t worry about it,” you disappeared around the corner without turning around.
He scrambled to his feet, afraid he had upset you with his joke. The chair scraped loudly against the wood floor, but before he could get two steps in, crying sounded from the couch.
“Shit,” he muttered.

DIABOLIK LOVERS Do-S Kyuuketsu VERSUS Ⅲ Animate Tokuten Drama CD ”Agricultural Management, the Vampire Way! ~When Disaster Strikes, a Storm Whips Up~”
Tumblr media
Original title: ヴァンパイア的農村経営! ~災いは嵐と共に~
Source: Diabolik Lovers VERSUS III Animate Tokuten CD
Audio: Here
Seiyuu: Toriumi Kousuke, Katsuyuki Konishi, Midorikawa Hikaru, Kaji Yuki, Hirakawa Daisuke, Kondou Takashi, Takahiro Sakurai, Kimura Ryouhei, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Kishio Daisuke, Morikawa Toshiyuki, Morikubo Shoutari & Tomoaki Maeno
Translator’s note: Classic Ryoutei Academy coming up with the weirdest classes and assignments for their students. No wonder Karlheinz sponsors the school because the principal is just as bonkers as he is. Anyway, it was interesting to see characters like Reiji, Laito and Carla having to do physical labor out on the field. Meanwhile Yuma is just completely in his element. This assignment was made for him after all. I won’t spoil how the CD ends, but let’s all press F in the chat for our Diaboys.
*Thud thud*
Subaru: …Ugh…Arghー Fuck! …Why am I here ploughin’ some damn field!?
*Rustle*
Laito: Ugh…That’s…my…line…! Ugh…!
*Thud*
Laito: Haah~ …Ahー God! I’m tired!
Laito tosses his hoe away.
*Thud*
Reiji: Hey, you two! No sleeping on the job! You have barely made any progress! …Laito, grab hold of that hoe at once!
Laito: Eeeh~?
Reiji: Don’t ‘eeeh~?’ me! This is part of a special class, so I shall ensure that all of you take it seriously!
Subaru: Che…I don’t give a damn if it’s for school or not…I can’t believe we’re forced to do this crap! Haah…I should have just skipped.
Reiji: Subaru…I shall not allow for that. Did you not hear me earlier? This assignment has to be done all together as a team!
Laito: If we can submit a stellar report on our task afterwards, the school will give us some kind of reward, right? Not just any reward either, but we get to choose anything we want with nothing off-limits. However, the one condition is that each member of a team contributes.
Reiji: Yes, exactly. And there just happens to be a silverware set which I have been dying to get my hands on. Therefore, I must get an excellent grade at all costs!
*Rustle*
Subaru: Ahー What a load of crap. …Anyway, they must be out of their minds if they think that this is a job for human labor. Don’t they have some kind of big or impressive machine which can get it done instead!?
Reiji: This is part of class. What makes you think there would be a tractor available to us? The whole point of the exercise is to get it done through our own strength!
*Clap clap*
Reiji: Well then, now grab hold of those hoes! As long as I am here to keep an eye on things, I shall not allow anyone to slack off!
Subaru: Che…Fuck off…
Laito: Aah~ …I’m really sick of this. I would have dipped a long time ago if it wasn’t for Bitch-chan being here as well.
Subaru: Anyway, Reiji! If you’re that stuck up ‘bout everyone doin’ their part, then why don’t you go and call over all those fuckers who aren’t here right now!?
Reiji: Hm…? Now that you mention it…I have not seen those three in a while. …Excuse me, you! Have you seen Yuma and the others, perhaps?
You explain.
Reiji: Ahー So Yuma and Azusa have gone fetch some fertilizer.
Yuma: Oi, you guys!
Reiji: If you speak of the Devil…
Yuma: We got the fertilizer.
He puts the bag down on the floor.
*Thud*
Yuma: There ya go. This should do the trick, right?
Azusa: Phew…Yuma…Where should I put my bag…?
Yuma: Ah. You can just throw it onto the pile over here. …Thanks, Azusa.
Azusa: Oh no…It was no big deal.
*Rustle*
Yuma: I don’t like havin’ to work together with these fuckers, but I guess I have no other choice if I wanna get my hands on that sweet reward. …So, how much of the area have you plowed so far?
Yuma takes a look.
Yuma: Aah!? You’ve barely made any progress!
Subaru: Oh shut up! The soil’s too damn hard, it’s no easy feat!
Laito: Yeah, exactly! My hands are so tired…
Yuma: God, you’re all such a bunch of weaklings…All you’ve done is some plowin’ and you’re already exhausted? Did you think agriculture was easy or somethin’!?
You apologize.
Yuma: Nah, you don’t need to say sorry. From what I can tell, the area you and Mr. Know-It-All did has made the most progress.
Azusa: Eve…Good work…
Reiji: Fufu…While I would never resort to doing physical labor under normal circumstances, my silverware is at stake this time. I am taking this very seriously.
He turns towards his brothers.
Reiji: Laito, Subaru. How about the two of you step up your game as well and start taking this seriously?
Laito: That’s easy for you to say…But this kind of work isn’t exactly my cup of tea. I mean, there’s bugs and such crawling around on the field as well, right?
Subaru: I mean, there’s only so much the four of us can accomplish, right? Look at how much ground we have to cover!
Azusa: Four? …Huh…? Now that you mention it…What happened to Carla-san?
Reiji: We actually haven’t seen him in a while now. I assumed that he went with you two to go get fertilizer but…It seems like that wasn’t the case.
Yuma: Yeah. It was only Azusa and I.
Laito: Eeh~? Then maybe he’s sleeping on the job somewhere!? (imitates Carla’s tone) ‘Fieldwork is not the kind of job a respectable Founder such as myself would ever resort to’
Subaru: Haah!? That’s not fair, is it!?
You mention something about a sound in the distance.
Azusa: Eh? Eve…? What’s wrong? …You hear something?
Azusa focuses on the sound.
Azusa: You’re right. I can hear it too.
Reiji: What could it be? It sounds like the engine of some kind of machine?
Yuma: …!! Shh, be quiet for a sec! …Ah! This is the sound of a tractor’s motor!
Laito: Hey…It seems to be steadily getting closer to us…!?
Azusa: Ah! Eve! Watch out!
ー A tractor arrives.
Carla: …Ugh.
*Thud*
Carla: You lot! Why are you here together, doing nothing?
Subaru: …Excuse me!? That’s what I’d like to ask! Where did you get that thing!? …Actually, Reiji! Didn’t you tell us earlier that a tractor is off-limits because this is part of a class assignment!?
Reiji: Yes…I was under that assumption.
Carla: Hmph. I pulled some strings to have this one arranged especially for me.
He steps towards the group.
Carla: I do not care that this is part of a special extracurricular activity. Under normal circumstances, a Founder such as myself would never resort to this sort of work. However, I shall make an exception this one time. I have decided that for the sake of getting a new ham stand, I am willing to dirty my very own hands!
Yuma: Your very own hands, you say? You’re usin’ a tractor tho.
Laito: Heeh…I didn’t think even Carla would be so desperate for the reward.
Azusa: It’s unusual…for Carla-san to be this motivated…
Carla: You may run your mouths all you want. This is all to secure a high score and a new ham holder…You lot! Now that you are in my team, I shall not allow any of you to slack off. Get your tasks done without fail! Do you understand?
Yuma: I mean, that was always my intention. It’s honestly like a dream come true to be able to work on the field as part of a school assignment.
Azusa: I’ll try…my best too…
Reiji: It should go without saying that I shall do the same. I never slack off when it comes to school, no matter what the assignment may be!
*Rustle*
Carla: Woman, what about you?
You agree to doing your best as well.
Carla: …Fufu. Well said. Allow me to praise you. …That leaves just you two. Hurry up and prove to me that you are prepared to face this challenge.
Subaru: Che…Big words comin’ from the guy who showed up late. Pisses me off…
*Rustle*
Subaru: Hah…But constantly bein’ nagged to work is annoyin’ too…Haahー Fine. Guess I have no other choice, so I’ll do it.
Laito: Hmm~ Well, I suppose I’ll do what I can without dirtying my clothes.
Reiji: Well then, let us first divide the tasks. There’d be no point in having all five of us plow the field.
Yuma: Damn right. I mean, now that we have a tractor to work with, we can leave that task up to Carla.
Azusa: What else…needs to be done…?
Yuma: Ah, next would be creating ridges by raising the earth. Then plant the seeds and water them. Just like that.
Laito: The ridges are made with the help of an animal, right? I want to do that then. I’d like to avoid having to touch the soil directly if possible.
Azusa: Then…I’d like to…be in the team planting the seeds…There’s a specific kind of vegetable I want to grow…
Yuma: In that case, feel free to use the fertilizer we carried here earlier. I got a really good kind.
Azusa: Mmh…Thank you.
Carla: I have something I want to grow as well.
Reiji: In which case, I shall join Laito in creating the ridges. I am curious whether I will be able to elevate them to a new level.
Carla: ーー Subaru. What shall you do? Hurry up and make up your mind.
Subaru: Huh? …Ahー I…
Laito: Don’t you think Subaru should join the two guys planting seeds? He seems like the kind of guy who likes digging around the dirt.
Subaru: Haah!? What kind of image do you have of me!?
Yuma: That’s settled then. Well then…If we want to balance things out, I suppose I’d go into the ridges team. I mean, fine by me.
You ask what you should do.
Reiji: You…Can we ask you to alternate between both groups and assist where you can?
ー You nod.
Yuma: ‘Kay! Now hold out yer hands, mates!
Azusa: My hand…? Like this…?
Reiji: Would this do?
Subaru: Oi, whatcha gonna do?
Carla: …
Laito: Yeah, yeah. …Come on, you too, Bitch-chan.
*Rustle rustle*
Yuma: Exactly. Now we all put them on top of each other like this.
*Rustle*
Yuma: ‘Kay! You’ve all got yer hands stacked on top of each other, right? Agriculture is all ‘bout good team work. I want to hear a loud ‘yeah’ at my signal, ‘kay?
Subaru: Haah!? You really think I’m gonna do that lame shit!?
Yuma: Ya guys! We’re gonna make a great field together!
Everyone: Yeah…!
*TIMESKIP*
You approach the group in charge of the ridges.
Reiji: Oh dear, you. Have you come to help out here first? Thank you very much.
Yuma: Well then, Sow. Hold this rope and stand there. We’re gonna trace this line to make the ridges.
*Rustle*
Reiji: Well then, I suppose we should get started soon. …Ugh…Ugh…
*Thud thud*
Reiji: Thanks to Carla softening up the soil with the tractor, the hoe digs right in. …Hah!...Hah!
*Thud thud*
Yuma: I’ll even it out later, so for now ya can just make lil’ piles.
Laito: …As to be expected of Yuma-kun, it looks like you were made to hold one of those hoes in your hands.
Yuma: Ya think so? Well, I do this at home all the time after all.
Laito: Eeh~? Every day? I wouldn’t be able to keep up with that. Working on the field is not only exhausting but it gets you all dirty as well. I honestly fail to see what’s so fun about digging around the earth like this. …Say, you agree with me, don’t you, Bitch-chan? ーー I mean, maybe if there was a chance to dig up some kind of treasure.
You suddenly scream out.
Laito: What’s wrong, Bitch-chan? Why the panic?
You explain.
Laito: Huh? Right at my feet?
*Rustle*
Laito: …Uwah! A-An earthworm…!
Reiji: Excuse me, Laito! Why are you fooling around? Take your job seriously!
Laito: I-I’m not fooling around…! More importantly, an earthworm popped up…!
Yuma: Ah? An earthworm? Now where is that lil’ bugger?
Laito: O-Over there! At your feet! Uu…It’s wriggling around…I’m feeling sick to my stomach…
Yuma: God, you’re makin’ way too much of a fuss over a lil’ earthworm. You should expect this much when out on the field, no?
You step back.
Yuma: Ah…? Why are you pissin’ yer pants as well? Ya just grab them like this andー
*Rustle*
Laito: Eek! Hey, Yuma-kun! Stay away from me…!!
Yuma: There ya go.
He throws it away.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Happy now?
Laito: Phew…I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
Reiji: Good grief…How pathetic, making such a fuss over a single bug.
Yuma: My thoughts exactly…
Laito: You two just don’t understand! Just how disgusting those creepy crawlers truly are! Aah…Just the thought of them wriggling around gives me goosebumps…
Laito loses consciousness.
Laito: Uu…Nn…
*Rustle*
Reiji: Dear god. I cannot believe he passed out over something like this. I feel ashamed as his brother. Haah…
*Rustle*
Reiji: Come on, you. Let us ignore Laito for now and get back to work.
You seem worried.
Reiji: No need to be concerned. I am sure he will regain consciousness in no time. …Yuma, let us continue.
Yuma: Yeah. …Come on, Sow. Hold the rope straight.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Ugh…
*Thud*
Reiji: Ugh…
*Thud*
Yuma: Still, I didn’t think you’d join this team. Ya seem like the type of dude who wouldn’t wanna work up a sweat.
Reiji: Like I mentioned before, I would not usually resort to physical labor. I happen to be more skilled at using my brains rather than my muscles after all. However…I got a little curious.
Yuma: Curious?
Reiji: The vegetables you drop off at our place every so often…They far exceed the ones sold at any store in terms of flavor. I came to the conclusion if you managed to raise such high-quality products in a small vegetable garden, then what would we be capable of growing in our own garden? While we do grow a couple of herbs, we have never grown our own vegetables before.
Yuma: Heh. Why not give it a try? I wouldn’t mind givin’ ya some pointers. From which fertilizer to choose to how to use the different tools involved, all of it.
Reiji: Fufu…That sounds very promising. I would love to have you teach me someday.
*Thud*
Yuma: Woah…We’ve made some great progress while talkin’.
Reiji: Yes. It went smoother than I expected. Perhaps we can thank the guy who made a huge fuss and then proceeded to faint on us.
Laito: Uu…Uu…Earthworm…I can’t…~~~
Reiji: Haah…
*Rustle*
Reiji: You, go ahead and call Subaru and the others. They can already start planting seeds in the ridges we’ve created so far.
You nod.
Yuma: We’re countin’ on ya!
You run off.
*TIMESKIP*
You approach the other group.
Azusa: Hm….Ah! Eve!
Subaru: Oh? Are Reiji and the others done already?
ー You explain.
Azusa: So we can start planting seeds? …Perfect timing…I just decided what I want to grow…
You show interest.
Azusa: Me? You seeーー I’ve decided to plant chili pepper seeds. Yuma arranged these for me. They’re from the Demon World so they should grow quicker…than normal ones…I’ll let you try some of them…once they’ve been harvested, okay? Fufu…
ーー Speaking of which…Subaru-san, which seeds did you choose…?
Subaru: Ah? Me…Iーー …It doesn’t really matter, does it? Anyway, let’s go plant them already!
Azusa: Oh…Ah, yeah. Good idea. …Let’s go together, Eve.
You walk back towards the field together.
*TIMESKIP*
Azusa: …Ridges have already been made over here. Yuma and the others made them…Well then, I suppose we can plant the seeds here.
*Rustle*
Subaru: Hm? Oi, wait. Is that Carla over there? He seems to be crouched down…What is that guy up to?
Azusa: Ah…You’re right.
You approach Carla.
Carla: …Hm? So you lot have come to plant your seeds as well?
Subaru: ‘As well’, you say? So you planted something as well?
Carla: Yes, I just finished planting almonds and cashews.
Subaru: Hah? …By the way, what’s the pink thing sticking out from the ground?
Carla: This…? Isn’t that obvious? It’s cured ham.
Subaru: Haah!? What is that doin’ iside the soil!?
Carla: I mean, the vegetables need proper fertilizer to be able to grow into their optimal form, correct? That is why I decided to bury ham of the finest quality alongside them!
*Rustle*
Carla: I believe this will allow me to grow the finest of nuts. Fufu… ーー However, I have already planted plenty of them, yet none have sprouted so far. Is something still missing, perhaps?
Subaru: No…Rather than somethin’ missin’…I think this is a whole different issue.
Azusa: Ah! Carla-san…Did you already water them?
Carla: Water? …No, not yet. Hah! I see. So water is the solution, huh? ーー Oi, Subaru! Go and get me water!
Subaru: Again, this makes no sense! Why do I have to do that!? Anyway, there’s no way they’ll grow like that!
Carla: Kuh…Excuse me? They will not?
You try to explain to Carla.
Subaru: Haah…Just like she said, you have to start with the seeds or it won’t work.
Carla: …! …No…I refuse to give up…I am positive they will grow…!
Azusa: Carla-san, please don’t feel down…Right! Why don’t we plant some chili pepper seeds together?
Carla: Chili pepper, you say? Hah! Ridiculous…!
Azusa: Please don’t be like that. Come on? …Eve, you should join us as well. Let’s plant them together. …Here’s a shovel for you.
*Rustle*
You thank him.
Azusa: Mmh. You’re welcome. Here’s yours, Subaru-san.
*Rustle*
Subaru: Ah…Yeah…
Azusa: Let’s see…I suppose we can plant them around here?
*Rustle rustle*
Azusa: First you create a small hole…
He pours the seeds inside.
Azusa: And then you add the seeds before closing it up again…
*Rustle rustle*
Carla: Hmph!
Subaru: Well…I guess this should do?
They continue planting seeds.
Azusa: Mmh! You’re all doing a great job! Now we just…
*Tap tap*
Azusa: Please turn out delicious…
*Tap tap*
Azusa: Please turn out delicious…
Carla: Haah…What has that guy been mumbling about this whole time?
Subaru: For some reason, it comes off as really creepy when comin’ from you…
Azusa: Eh? I’m just doing what Yuma always does. When you plant sands…While praying for them to turn out delicious…They actually will, you see…?
Subaru: For real?
You ask Subaru which vegetables he will grow.
Subaru: Ah? …L-Like I said, that’s none of your business, is it!?
Azusa: But I’m curious as well…
You agree.
Subaru: …Ugh. …Haahー Fine…Cherry tomatoes.
Azusa: Cherry…tomatoes…
Subaru: What’s with that face!? Why do you seem so obviously surprised!? …They seemed the easiest to grow according to the manual so that’s why I chose them! Got a problem with that, huh!?
Azusa: No…Not at all. Well then, here you go.
*Rustle*
Azusa: You can have this, okay?
*Thud*
Subaru: …Ah. What is this? A name tag?
Azusa: Yeah…I also got this from Yuma but…You should give your plant a name and put that beside it.
Subaru: Let me see… ‘Subaru-san’s tomatoes’? Doesn’t it seem like a grave of some sorts now?
Azusa: Eh? You think so?
Carla: Hmph! You enjoy crawling into a coffin as a hobby, do you not? This is barely any different.
Subaru: …!? A-Are you makin’ fun of me!?
Carla: I am not. I am simply stating the truth.
Subaru: Like I saidーー
The other group approaches them.
Reiji: Oh dear, why the ruckus?
Azusa: Ah…Reiji-san…Yuma and Laito-san as well…
Laito: Hey there, Bitch-chan~! Haven’t seen you since earlier.
You ask if he’s alright now.
Laito: Mmh! I’m back in tip-top shape! Although…I’d rather stay clear from soil for a while.
Yuma: Look, ya guys can fight all ya want, but have ya finished plantin’ the seeds yet?
You nod.
Yuma: Hah? That doesn’t sound very convincin’...But…Oh! They’re already sproutin’! I guess seeds from the Demon World really are on a different level! If they keep growin’ like this, we might just be able to harvest them tomorrow!
Laito: Then why don’t we take a break? The sky is looking gray as well…
Reiji: You are right. It has been cloudy for a while now. Well then, how about we go rest up inside that cabin for a bit?
You all start walking towards the cabin.
*TIMESKIP*
A storm rages outside.
Laito: It’s really pouring down…
Azusa: There’s even thunder…
*CRASH*
Reiji: I have to admit…The weather does make me rather worried about the seeds we planted earlier. They only just sprouted after all.
Yuma: Yeah. Young sprouts aren’t well resistant to the rain or strong gusts of wind yet. Perhaps we should have put a few support pillars ‘round the plants to protect them. At this rate, they’ll end up gettin’ washed away by the rain.
*Rustle*
Subaru: Haah!? Then what ‘bout our assignment!? I’m not startin’ over from scratch again!
Carla: I agree. My new ham holder is at stake here. I shall not waste this opportunity.
Reiji: Calm down, both of you. My silverware set depends on it as well, so I refuse to give up already. That being said, haste makes for waste, remember?
*CRASH*
Laito: But…I don’t think we have much time to waste? The storm’s really picking up outside.
Subaru: …! Tsk…Oi, Yuma! How do those pillars work?
Yuma: …!? Don’t tell me…You’re thinkin’ of goin’ out there in this weather!?
Subaru: What other choice do I have!? I put in all that effort to plant those seeds!  It’d be such a shame…To let my tomatoes go to waste before even gettin’ a chance to harvest them.
Azusa: But…If you were to step outside right now…Wouldn’t you put yourself at risk as well?
Subaru: I don’t give a damn ‘bout that! …Somebody has to go, right!? Get out of my way! I’ll go…!
*Thud*
Yuma: Wait, Subaru! You won’t be able to do anythin’ by yourself! I’ll come with you.
Azusa: Mmh. I’ll tag along as well. I want those chilli pepper seeds which we all planted together…To have a chance to grow…
Reiji: Haah…I suppose I have no other choice. I am not thrilled about having to go out during a rainstorm, but I shall come as well.
You offer to join them as well.
Reiji: No, you should wait here. It is dangerous outside after all.
Yuma: Let’s get goin’ then…!
They run outside.
Laito: Ahーah. They actually went outside.
Carla: Hah! They can build a fort around it all they want, it will all be in vain if you do not tackle the root of the issue.
You point out that the weather is the main problem.
Carla: Yes. Exactly. In other words, this weather.
Laito: Nfu~ That being said…There’s not much we can do about the weather, is there?
Carla: No, I know a way. I could offset the storm with my magic.
Laito: Eeh? You can do that?
Carla: Who do you think I am? I am Tsukinami Carla, King of Founders! ーー Woman, step out of the way. I shall blow this storm away with my powers. Fufufu…Ahahaha! The ham holder is as good as mine!
Carla begins charging up an attack.
Carla: Haah…
Laito: …Wow! This magic is impressive. I guess I should have expected as much from a Founder…?
Carla: Aaaah!!!
*CRASH*
*BOOM*
Laito: Coff..coff…Bitch-chan…Are you alright?
Carla: Hmph! That was a piece of cake for someone of my caliber.
Yuma: Magic sure is somethin’ else! But I’m glad! Now our veggies are saーー Wait. Aaaaah…!!
Azusa: Oh…They had already sprouted as well…But now they’re all…gone.
Subaru: …Oi! You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me!? How!?
Reiji: Could it be…Was Carla’s attack simply too powerful…He ended up destroying the whole field in the process?
Laito: Aahー
Carla: …A-Ahem…You should be grateful to me for getting rid of that terrible storm, at least.
Subaru: S…So in the end we’re back at square one anyway!?

It’s Always Been You pt13
(Kyoya x Male Reader)
Chapter thirteen
-Covering The Famous Host Club!-
It was barely morning, and he was  blissfully sleeping, a rare sight to see.
A ring tone echos throughout the dark room, abruptly waking Y/n up.
He whips his head towards his phone.
He didn’t need to check who was calling. He already knew, the oh so familiar ringtone, the sound of it made him want to throw up.
He looked bright at the screen, dread filling every inch of him
 ‘Don’t answer’
 ‘Don’t answer’
 ‘Don’t answer’
He took a weak breath before picking up the call, against his own judgment.
“Hi mom.” His voice was shaky.
“No- uh, you didn’t wake me don’t worry about it...”
He could barely hear his mom over his own heartbeat.
“Mom, you know I can’t work weekdays-… Yes I know that’s why I’m here, but, you can’t just-…”
“Right… I’m sorry. Wait-No you don’t have too-” The phone shut off as the call abruptly ended.
Of course he set his mom off, now he’s going to work damaged control so his mom doesn’t go off the deep end.
An alarm went off. Pulling him out of his thoughts,
‘School’.
Fine he’ll deal with it later then, just have to get through today.
——-
“Welcome back, ladies!”
The place was peaceful, nothing sort of picture perfect. Sunshine painted the soft grass, Hydrangeas beautifully planted within.
But then, two twin serpents came in,
“What’s with the long face, Y/n?” Hikaru grinned, leaning against him.
Y/n had been staring off into space.
“I think he’s jealous Kyoyas not giving him any attention.” Kaoru teased.
“I’m not jealous, guys. It’s just been a long morning.”
“Oh please you basically follow him around like lost puppy. It’s painful obvious.”
Y/n shoots them a glare, having less patience for them.
they back off.
 “Fine then.”
Since this morning he hasn’t heard back from his mom. He’s tried calling, but to no avail.
She tended to be very eccentric, it was all or nothing for her.
If she got ticked off it would end up being his job to pull his mom back together. He’d gladly walked on eggshells for her if it meant a day where she isn’t utterly miserable.
But when she gets like this it’s harder to calm her down, and Y/n was just unraveling at the seems.
And as if Y/n personally offended faith herself, a new string was tugged.
“Haruhi! Duck!” Tamaki rushed over Haruhi as a ball speeds towards her.
Tamaki tackles Haruhi, as the ball passes. Soon after glass shatters, turns out the ball hit and broken a window.
 How fun.
Tamaki decided it’s best to apologize to whoever’s window was broken.
The most sane idea he’s had.
The club found itself in the newspaper club, as small club with only three members.
“Really, we’re terribly sorry about that.” Tamaki bows.
The Newspaper club’s president got hit directly on his head by the ball. He’s now holding an ice pack to the wound.
The other two members were on both sides of him.
“Don’t worry, it’s no big deal. Could’ve happened to anyone, right? Just a ball flying through a window and hitting me upside the head.” The president reassured.
“Please, accept our apology.” Tamaki bowed again.
“Well this works out perfectly. I was thinking about approaching the host club about a cover story. I don’t suppose you’d be interested?”
“I didn’t know we had a Newspaper club.” Haruhi spoke.
“It’s more gossip brag than a newspaper club.” Hikaru mentioned, holding a paper to Haruhi.
“Yeah, like a trashy tabloid. It’s filled with stories about scandalous love affairs, family power struggles, and junk like that.”
“It’s just lame gossip brag that specializes in stirring up a scandal.”
“And everyone knows it’s all lies, so nobody reads it anymore.”
“You know… I guess we have kind of lost sight of the truth, because we’ve been worried about drawing in more readers.”
The president explained, slightly got off guard for the brutal honesty.
“It’s a shame we’re just realizing our error. Now that we know what’s at risk.”
 This catches Tamaki’s attention.
“We finally realized that we should have been reporting to the students of Ouran.” The president stands up and bow, the two follow after.
“Help us, please. For our last paper of the semester, we’d like to do an up close special edition, revealing the charms of Ouran’s Host Club members. I’m begging you, without your help our club will close.”
Tamaki moves the hair out of his face.
“Huh, you can count on us! On behalf of The Host Club I-“
Kyoya pushed Tamaki off to the side.
“We’ll have to decline.” He offered an apologetic smile.
“But kyoya, he got hurt because of me! What’s the big deal, huh? So they want to do a story on us, why can’t we help them out!” Tamaki argued.
“I’m the boss, me! Got that?”
“Sorry we have a policy prohibiting us from sharing any personal information with anyone other than our guests. But we’d be more than happy to pay any medical expenses related to your injury.”
“And another thing, what makes you think we’d want to help you spread more rumours and gossip. We’ve got a reputation to uphold and you’d just ruin it.” Kaoru adds.
“Besides, you guys cause a lot of trouble for other people. And why’d we wanna get mixed up in that?”
The president sits down in defeat.
“I understand. Well, I guess you can’t really erase the sins of the past, can you? People won’t even give you an opportunity to redeem yourself.” He began to sob clutching his head.
 “My head is killing me!”
 “President!” The two members yelled.
“I’m okay… don’t worry you two. Oh no I’m getting dizzy again!” The president dramatically face plants onto the desk.
  “President!”
 “No wait I’m fine…”
“I guess all we can do at this point is disband with grace..”
“No, you don’t have too!” Tamaki yelled.
“Huh?” The three look at the blonde.
“You can always make a fresh start. We’ll help, we will rally the power of our Host Club, we can re-establish the Newspaper club together!”
“Well count us out.” The twins dryly spoke.
“You’re way too trusting boss. We can’t just go along with everything you do forever.” They began dragging Haruhi out the room with them.
“Yeah I’m not in the mood to get interrogated.” Y/n leaves.
“We’re leaving too Tamaki. We’re holding an evaluation meeting… mostly about you. Kyoya, Mori, and Honey leave.
The hosts were back in their club room
And Tamaki was in a corner, sadly playing with a red ball.
“Well he’s obviously upset with us.”
“-Yeah, he hasn’t even changed clothes.”
“I hate it when he ignores us when we’re infront of him. He’s such a child.” Kyoya complained.
“Nah, Tama-chan is just a lonely guy, you know?” Honey takes a bite of cake.
“Doesn’t give him the right to throw a tantrum when he doesn’t get his way.” Y/n muttered.
“A club is like a family. Their family is about to be broken up. I feel sorry for them.” Tamaki pouts.
“I hate to give in, but would it  really be that bad to help them out with their newspaper.” Haruhi looks at Kyoya.
  “What?”
“Hey, since when are you taking his side?”
“Since never, just listen okay?” Haruhi blankly spoke.
“I know any moment now, he’s gonna look over here with those puppy dog eyes he uses when he wants something, and none of us will be able to say no, so he’ll win.”
“Let me guess you’re speaking from experience, aren’t you?” The twins deadpanned.
“Besides, maybe I’m wrong, but isn’t this the kind of thing you guys usually go for?” Haruhi notes.
“Well, no. This seems more trouble than it’s worth.”
 “What about you Honey-senpai?”
“Count me out, I have this cake to eat, and Takashi sticks with me, right?”
 “Hm.”
Tamaki rolls a ball around before looking back at the club.
 “Those eyes…” Haruhi muttered.
Haruhi gives in, and goes by Tamaki.
Tamaki repeats the action, and the twins cave.
 He does it again.
“There will be conditions.” Kyoya pushed up his glasses.
“Tamaki got to you?” Y/n groaned.
“The outlet of their article will be submitted by us. Interviews are strictly prohibited, and it is vital that our client’s identities be kept confidential.”
 “Do we agree?”
Tamaki nods excitedly.
“Well, if you think it’s cool Kyoya-senpai,”
 “Then we are too.”
“I’ll do it, since Kyo-Chan says it’s okay!”
 “Hm.”
“Are we really doing this?” Y/n spoke.
“Everyone else seems to be agreeable.” Kyoya looks up from his book.
  “…Fine.” Y/n sighed.
“Then I’ll let The Newspaper club know about this.” He snaps his black notebook shut.
“Y/n. Can you come with me?”
Kyoya walks out of the room, with Y/n following after.
“What do you need me for?” Y/n raised a brow.
“Do you still have any left over surveillance equipment?”
“What do you need it for?” Y/n digged through his pockets, pulled out two small black devices.
“Just a precaution with our new alliance with the Newspaper club.”
“Video or audio?” Y/n held out the devices.
“Audio would be appreciated.” Kyoya grabbed the device.
“Why bother going through with Tamaki’s idea, if you dont trust them in the first place.” Y/n puts the other device back into his pocket.
“Like I said, it’s just a precaution.” Kyoya he placed the small device hidden in the first-aid kit.
“I should bring this to the Newspaper club now.”
“Have fun, I’m going back to the Host club. They’ve been by themselves way too long.” Y/n walks the other way.
——————
The Day passes and now the host club is back outside, along with the Newspaper club.
Tamaki is facing a tree, while the rest of the club is a few feet away.
 “The Daruma doll-“
  The club begins moving slowly.
“-Fell over!” Tamaki whips his head around.
No one moved. Tamaki faces the tree again.
 “The Daruma doll…”
The twins continue moving forward while Kyoya stays in his place, with Y/n just sitting on the grass pulling on it.
“Fell over!” Tamaki turns around. Still no luck. He turned back around.
“The Daruma doll fell over!” Tamaki spoke quicker.
Still no one was caught moving.
“TheDarumadollfellover!” Tamaki spoke impossibly quicker and turns around.
“I saw you move Hikaru and Kaoru!” Tamaki points at the clearly unmoving twins.
“I saw you! I saw you! You moved, I saw you!” Tamaki points to the rest of the club.
“What? We didn’t move boss?!” The twins interjected.
The newspaper club was least to say unimpressed,
the last thing they thought was the one and only host club playing a dumb game.
“President, what on earth are we witnessing?” Sayko muttered.
“Could it be some kind of new religion?”
“Why are you asking me? How’d the hell am I supposed to know?”
Tamaki quickly goes over to the three with a cheery expression.
“You know, I can’t blame you for being shocked.
I was unfamiliar with it myself! It’s a commoners game!” His eyes shined.
“They have a wide variety, and none of them require spending any money. All you need is friends to play with.”
“Hmh and what does this have to do with our coverage of the host club?” The president spoke irritated.
“You need to learn friendliness!” Tamaki dramatically points at the newspaper club.
“If you want to clear that negative reputation of the newspaper club and attempt to capture the hearts of your readers, you must try to be down to earth.”
“I could imagine the headlines now!” Tamaki began to drift off.
As Tamaki dreamily explained, Y/n had other plans.
 Like avoiding the newspaper club.
“Why do you have so many rocks?” Haruhi walked over to y/n, still sitting in his spot in the grass.
“Because Rocks are cool.” Y/n spoke not looking up at Haruhi.
“Look at this one.” Y/n holds up a light rock with dark speckles all around it.
“Hey why do you even collect stuff like this anyways?” Haruhi holds the rock in her hands.
“Probably because I share the same mentality of a crow.” Y/n started rearranging the collection of rocks.
“…That makes sense.” Haruhi places the rock back with the rest.
Y/n looked up and saw Tamaki staring at Haruhi.
“Hey, uh your stalker is looking at you.” He gestured towards Tamaki.
“Hm?” Haruhi turned around, and gave a confused wave.
“At least try to look happy.” Y/n teased.
“It’s easier said than done.” Haruhi sighed turning back to Y/n.
“Have a rock for your troubles then.”
  “What?” Haruhi deadpanned.
“You heard me, take any rock you want.” He points to collection.
“Are you sure?” Haruhi looks at a small greyish pink rock. And they pick it up.
   “Ooh good choice!” He smiled.
“Thank you for the-“ Haruhi gets pulled to the side by the newspaper club.
“Can we ask you a few questions?”
“Why can’t this be over yet…” Haruhi spoke under their breath.
“No he’s clearly busy.” Y/n stood up.
“It’s fine I don’t mind, really..” Haruhi unconvincingly spoke.
“Haruhi you don’t have to.” Y/n pushed them out of the way from the newspaper club.
“Y/n l/n was it?” The president interrupted.
“If you’re so against having him interviewed, why don’t we just interview you instead.”
“…sure but there’s nothing of value from talking to me.” Y/n crossed his arms.
“I’m sure there’s something interesting we can dig up.” The president ominously smiled.
“So why did you join the host club? You’re clearly not the most charismatic student.” The presidents sidekicks were holding a notepad.
“I was personally invited, next question.” Y/n quickly spoke. Bugging the president.
“Well then, what about the club members, what do you think about them?”
“They’re good friends, are we done yet?” He smiled, pushing the president buttons.
“No, we have one last question. And you might find this one interesting.” His tone of voice shifted.
 “Okay asked away then.”
“We did some of our own personal research on each of the club members. And we found something, odd.”
Y/n’s body stiffened, and sense of dread filled every inch of him.
“You don’t to seem to live with your parents, at least that’s what it said on your school records. Why is that?”
 “I don’t see how that’s important.”
“Well we decided to look further into it and we decided to ask someone who’d know.” The president smirked.
  “Wait.. you didn’t.” Y/n mumbled.
“Your mother was such a kind lady, she was so excited to talk about you for our paper.”
“Why don’t you talk to your mother, she’s very worried about you.”
“I do. I did so this morning.” Y/n clenched his jaw.
“Well she told me you rarely told her anything about your personal life!”
“What kind of person would ignore their own flesh and blood. She didn’t even know you were in a host club! We had to tell her ourselves.”
He felt sick, he didn’t want his to happen. His head felt like it was spinning.
“Such a shame, turns out the host club does have its disappointments.”
His phone buzzed in his pocket, sending shivers up his spine.
“You should answer that.” The president walked away pleased at his work.
He shakily pulled his phone out of his pocket, and stared at the caller id. His thumb over the green button-
 “Y/n?”
He jumped nearly dropping his phone. Then he quickly shoved his phone back into his pocket, declining the call.
“You scared me! Warning next time.” He spoke.
“Sorry, but Tamaki wants everyone to play ‘kick the can’” kyoya explained.
“Come on y/n!” The twins yelled.
“Yeah, I’m coming.” He sighed. Still not fully recovered.
Tamaki began the game, he placed a can in the middle of the ground.
“You’re it kyoya!” Tamaki points to Kyoya.
“If I must..” he looked down at the lonely can.
“Starlight kick!” Tamaki punted the can, and it went flying through the air nearly hitting the newspaper club.
The rest of the club starts running off. Tamaki dragging off Haruhi by the hand to the garden maze, and the others following after.
Leaving y/n barely catching up with them, ending up leaving him behind.
“How do they..huff… run so fast…” he gasped for air. Now stuck in the maze by himself.
“Where’d they even go?” He began walking in a random direction. After walking aimlessly he sat down by one of the dead ends.
He phone has now been buzzing nonstop. He couldn’t even look at his phone, choosing to ignore it all together.
A different ringtone caught his attention however.
He looked at it ‘Glasses’ he huffed out a smile and answered.
“What did the club do this time?” Y/n asked, with a small laugh.
“Wow who would’ve guessed they had alternative motives.” Y/n sarcastically replied.
He began to walk around the maze again.
“I-.. don’t worry about it. I can deal with it, just where are you now? I think I’m lost.”
He took a turn and saw the rest of the club around a table with Haruhi and Tamaki under it.
  He hunged up the call.
The phone started ringing again, from her, he put his phone back into his pocket. Ignoring it.
“I was beginning to think I wouldn’t find an end to the maze.”
“Wait, where’s the newspaper club?” Tamaki looked around like a dog.
“They had to cancel. Something came up. They said they’re gonna focused on writing respective articles” The twins spoke.
“So Maybe they’ll get by without having to shutdown.”
“Oh really! That’s good news!” Tamaki cheered.
“Let’s hurry back to the club room and eat some cake!” Honey joined in, on Mori’s shoulders.
“That does sound like a good idea! Cake! Cake!” Tamaki chanted.
“You guys are too loud.” Y/n complained staying back with Kyoya and Haruhi.
“Kyoya-senpai? I was wondering…” Haruhi looked off at Tamaki.
“Is the Suoh family really that big of a deal around here?” Haruhi looks up at Kyoya.
“Well the foundation of their business is corporate finance, but they do have some extensive real estate as well. You’ve heard of the Roi Grand Hotel and Outo Theatre. They also have their hand in other things.” Kyoya explained.
“But most importantly school management.” Y/n adds in.
“I didn’t know that which school?” Haruhi questioned.
 “Ouran academy, obviously.” He smiled.
Haruhi freezes as everyone walks ahead.
“You’ve been here long enough you should at least know the chairman of the schools board name.” kyoya states.
“I mean he did pay for your scholarship for you to attend at this school, you should be thankful.”
 Haruhi stood there, reevaluating everything.
  “Haruhi!”
“Hurry it up or we’re going to leave you. I would hate for you to be lost again.” Tamaki smiled.
  Haruhi groaned and followed after.

「PERIODS」 KBTBB
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OBEY ME VER. | MASTERLIST | TAGLIST
➤ Characters: Aihara Hikaru, Ayase Koji, Baba Mitsunari, Hatter Rhion, Hishikura Shuichi, Ichinomiya Eisuke, Inui Ryosuke, Luke Foster, Kisaki Ota, Kishi Mamoru, Oh Soryu, Samejima Koichi
➤ Tags: established relationships, gn!reader with ovaries, mentions of adult activities, period blood and accessories, probably ooc because I haven’t completed everyone’s routes yet (done at least one season for everyone but Rhion, who I am doing next)
➤ A/N: Firstly, I am so late to this series (and Voltage games in general). Secondly, let’s just consider this a shit post. 😂 I wasn’t planning to post anything else like this but... my mind wandered and this was the result. 😂😅
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He either doesn’t know what a period is or is a little confused by the concept. Regardless, he gets really concerned when he finds spots of blood on your shared bed sheets.
↳  Rhion, RYOSUKE
He doesn’t mention the blood left on your shared bed sheets when you started your period a little earlier than usual. If it isn’t much, he will just let you sleep and deal with it when you wake up. He carries you into the bathroom, where he has an warm bath waiting for you, and tells you to take your time. Meanwhile, he strips the sheets from the bed and deals with the cleaning since he knows how you usually feel during that time of the month.
↳ Ayase, BABA, Ryosuke, Samejima, SORYU
Alternatively, he waits for you to wake up, but you have to change the sheets. Regardless of the reason, he leaves it up to you.
↳ EISUKE, Hikaru, Luke, MAMORU, RHION
He wakes you up when he notices, when you do spot, and makes you change the sheets immediately.
↳ OTA, Shuichi
He goes out for you, during that time of the month, when you need more period products. He never complains about such a task.
“Do you still want that brand?” He asks, surprising you with how casual he is about it.
When you ask him he frowns. Embarrassing? He doesn’t understand why it would be. Picking up your period products is just another task to him. He is also your boyfriend so this is just something he naturally should be able to do for you without it being a whole thing.
↳ BABA, Luke, RYOSUKE, Samejima, SHUICHI, Soryu
He’s hesitant to go buy period products for you. He may complain about it being embarrassing, but he will do it every time you ask. Even asking when he’s out and he knows it’s that time. His cheeks are as a red as a tomato but it’s for you so he endures.
↳ Ayase, Hikaru, MAMORU, OTA, Rhion
Him? Go buy you period products? Pfft... He has people for that.
↳ EISUKE, Soryu
Why are you concerned about him not being okay fetching period products for you? He’s a doctor, a back alley doctor at that. Something so simple and mundane is nothing to him.
↳ LUKE
When you’re having particularly bad cramps, he’ll tell you go lay down and pampers you a little. Brings you some medication, some water, a heating pad, whatever you need. He’ll also lay down with you if he has the time, his hands slipping under the fabric of your clothes to massage your aching body.
↳ Ayase, BABA, Eisuke, Hikaru, RYOSUKE, Samejima, Soryu
He won’t go out of the way to pamper you, but he will gave you massages while the two of you are curled up together on the couch or bed. Don’t bring attention to it though. He’ll most likely stop the moment you point it out.
↳ Eisuke, Hikaru, MAMORU, OTA, Shuichi
He makes a joke about solving your monthly problem for nine months.
↳ Baba, Eisuke, OTA
He isn’t joking. He will do it. Just tell him and he will get started.
↳ EISUKE, Luke, I lowkey see Shuichi too but that could be just me
Want to have sex while on your period? Hell yeah. He doesn’t care. As long as your comfortable then he’s all for it.
↳ Baba, EISUKE, Luke, MAMORU, Samejima
Goes the extra mile to make it easier on you. Grabs towels to place underneath you, carries you afterward to the bathroom where he gently lowers you into a nice warm bath, etc.
↳ BABA, Hikaru, RYOSUKE, Samejima, Soryu
Want to have sex while on your period? ...I guess? While the blood doesn’t bother him necessarily, he’s just concerned about how you might feel during, the mess, etc.
↳ Ayase, Hikaru, Ryosuke, SORYU
It’s Friday, my dudes, which means it’s sexy time and no period is going to ruin your routine.
↳ SHUICHI
He buys you sweets and such each time because he knows they make you feel better, even if it’s only a small fraction.
↳ Ayase, BABA, Hikaru, RYOSUKE

A3! Event Story Translation “Ah, My Dearly Beloved” [ Chapter 4 ]
Azami heads back to his parents' home to learn new information and an update on the performance Syu passed on to us.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azami
Kumon
Aaazami! What’s the haps?
Azami
…I’m reading this book for an assignment.
Kumon
Oh yeah, that’s “The Tale of Genji”, right?
I wouldn’t know too much about it since I didn’t do it in class, but is it that difficult? You don’t look too happy.
Azami
It got easier to decipher once Itaru-san taught it to me. But… the content of it… it’s…
Kumon
Now that you mention it, it IS riddled with love stories.
Azami, you know what they say, there’s a first-time for everybody~.
Azami
Shut up, you decide to act like my senior now?
*Azami lightly punches Kumon* Kumon
Ahaha, owie!
Ah, there’s also this ramen place I wanna head to after school.
Azami
I’ll have to put in a rain check for today.
Kumon
You got somewhere to be?
Azami
…I’m off to my parents’ place for a bit.
Tumblr media
Azami
Talk about a feast. Can I really eat all this…?
Sakyo
You don’t come home that often, so Sakoda poured his heart out into preparing these for you.
Azami
Still, that’s a ton of food.
Sakyo
I told him to ask the boss about it, cause he was so shocked that you’d come back home so openly.
Azami
…Shut it. I dunno why, but I just can’t stop thinking about it.
Chairman
What are you two muttering about over there?
Azami
Ahh… dad, I wanted to ask you something.
Do you know about a ryokan called “Sayuru Pavilion”?
Chairman
“Sayuru Pavilion”... That name takes me way back.
Azami
So you know?
Chairman
Of course I know. That’s where Sayuri used to work.
Azami
Mom worked there…?
Chairman
Not just that, that’s the place where we first met and where I proposed to her.
Azami
Seriously…?
Chairman
Uh-huh. I fell in love at first sight with her and went in for the kill as soon as I could.
Although, Sayuri’s relatives were particularly opposed to us, we eventually got together.
Azami
Huh…
Chairman
Now, why’d you suddenly ask me about that place?
Azami
I just came across some photos of it and thought it looked familiar.
So I was wondering if I went there when I was little.
Chairman
No… I don’t think so…?
Azami
(Then, why do I have a sense of deja vu from that place? Am I just imagining things?) Sakyo
Speaking of, boss, do you know about the night parties they hold once a year?
Chairman
…Yeah, well.
Azami
?
Sakoda
Here you are! Extra dishes just for you!
Sakyo
Oi, no one told you this was gonna be a banquet. Cut back on the portions.
Azami
… *sighs*
(I came all the way here and I only ended up with more questions than answers.)
Tumblr media
Azami
Back.
(I’m tired. I’ll get my mind off my assignment for a bit and think about make-up instead.)
Izumi
Azami-kun, Sakyo-san, welcome home, you made it just in time!
Could I ask you two to come to the lounge?
Tumblr media
Sakyo
What’s the situation?
Izumi
I received the plot of the script from Syu-san, so I wanted to discuss the casting.
Sakyo
Huh… The title… “The Tale of Genji”?
Tsuzuru
It’s just a tentative title.
Azami
…!
Izumi
The main character, Hikaru Genji, meets mysterious men in his dreams and reflects on his life.
It’s a fantasy based on the original “The Tale of Genji.”
Azuma
That kind of theme would fit such a beautiful stage.
Yuki
This means that the costumes would be from the Heian period.
