Cinders actually created every single sea shanty ever, she originally started singing them with her mother as she didnt have good coordination as a kid and singing them helped her keep the rhythm of whatever she was doing in track. Over time she started singing them about anything really. Once rose had been taken on their wedding day cinders started singing about her love towards rose and her search for her true love. After the events of once upon a time in space, cinders begun singing her shanties and especially the ones about rose, to keep her alive in a way.

Good for her. Good for her! I love her dearly for this

happy fuck the rose and you as well sunday! in honor, I am posting my thoughts about the line in pump shanty, because god do I have thoughts!

there are no rose reds at that point, right? they're fleeing the wedding. The only Rose explicitly in canon is... Rose. Snow's sister, who's just been kidnapped. Even for Greyditch, this seems... a little insensitive, to say the least.

But! There's also the phrasing. It's not "fuck Rose." It's "fuck the Rose."

See also Our Boy Jack. "When the red Rose, it comes a'marching," and "when the Rose comes over the water." Now, these could very concievably both refer to the Rose Reds, but consider: what if they don't?

What if the Rose is an established Crown insignia? Greyditch isn't saying fuck Rose, he's saying fuck the Crown. This makes a lot more sense in context.

This leads me to believe that Rose was named for the Crown symbol, which. Adds whole new layers to everything that happens to her. Woman destined from birth, by her name, to be a tool for Cole. I think her parents saw her red hair (the Crown’s color) and named her for it, in the hopes she’d continue their family’s legacy of serving the king. And she did, and every one of her clones did, to hundreds of thousands of deaths…

I think mentioning she assisted the new regime is unnecessary. RR-11678 betrayed the crown in 4395. I think either way she should be shot. Rose Reds, especially defective ones are a hazard. She betrayed the king once. If the new "president" Marion Belle were any sort of intelligent she would have her killed. She betrayed once. She could do it again.

None of the events actually had tragic endings; the mechs are just unhinged and made them all angsty for their stories

OUATIS: rose survived and snow gets 2 clone wives (they both love her and treat each other like besties)

HNOC: actually nothing happens and Gawain figures out that the Saxons are just people trying to survive and the Pendragons accept Mordred as their son happily and they get to a planet with water eventually

UDAD: they get the vault open together and then tear down the City's government (and they all become friends/bitchy found family. Orpheus realizes he can live again and he and Narcissus kiss.)

TBI: killing odin did actually save their world. The Asgardian nobility still gets killed because fuck colonizers. Fenrir gets broken out of prison. Lyf lives a happy life and possibly gets to kiss marius (and other mechs if you're so inclined.)

she was "more resilient" to whatever they did to her to clone her than they expected

she had scars

she wore a dress to her wedding, which she kept a gun in the pocket of

she met cinders when she was the commander of the prison she was being kept in

she was briefly assigned as a goodwill ambassador to beaumont and was kind to Adam

so little about her personality or background or training, or even her relationship with Snow, except how we see it rippling out through the story... queen of haunting the narrative
