summary: Hoseok’s heat is upon them, but this time they’re going to try for what Hoseok’s been wanting for a while now.
⇢ day three of jihope week 2018
Tumblr media
Jimin is so gentle with him.
He’s always gentle with Hoseok really, but when Hoseok’s heat hits, he grows softer, touch featherlight. He treats Hoseok like something precious and while Hoseok would generally appreciate that at any other moment, his heat isn’t with it.
Hoseok is spread out on the bed, tail wrapped tight around his own wrist. It’s Friday night and the only reason Jimin hasn’t called in about work for the rest of the week is because he wants to see if Hoseok will still be in heat by Sunday night too.
Considering their recent conversations about Hoseok’s heat, Hoseok isn’t sure he’ll still be in heat by tomorrow morning.
Jimin is focused, hands trailing from Hoseok’s knees to his thighs, murmuring reassurances.
Hoseok should feel nervous or excited, but he’s just horny. He doesn’t have the willpower to focus on anything else but that.
He’s already stripped down too, leaking down onto the sheets beneath his ass. Jimin doesn’t mind the mess and has been pushing his fingers into Hoseok’s ready hole for a while now, testing him out. Jimin likes to tease, has always loved doing it and Hoseok being in heat doesn’t change that fact. Hoseok’s ears twitch when Jimin presses four fingers past his rim, the stretch barely noticeable at all but just the feeling of having something in him is giving Hoseok a little relief.
When Hoseok goes into heat, he always feels like his body is on fire. From his toes to the tips of his fingers and the strands of his hair, there are flames licking up his frame, engulfing him whole. Jimin’s touch is soothing and cooling, but the only time Hoseok becomes coherent enough to want something other than cock is when Jimin comes in him.
Jimin’s fingers bend and press against his prostate, curling on his rim when Jimin pulls them back out and wraps them around his own exposed cock. The bedroom is cold, but the bed is hot and watching Jimin jerk himself off is even hotter.
Hoseok whines when it feels like Jimin has forgotten about him, only quieting when Jimin chuckles and leans up to kiss him. He uses one hand to hold himself up and the other to rub at Hoseok’s ears, smiling into the kiss as Hoseok moans against his mouth. Jimin takes this as an opportunity to lick his way past Hoseok’s parted lips, tongue soft enough to remind Hoseok it’s Jimin.
This is Jimin, his lover and best friend and his legal owner. Hoseok only wears a collar when they go out because it’s required by law, but Hoseok is more than familiar with Jimin’s view on the many different laws concerning hybrids.
He hates them, despises them with all his being. He doesn’t understand why ears and a tail suddenly makes someone less of a person and Hoseok is endeared by his way of thinking, loves that Jimin is too gentle to ever treat someone wrong, law or not. He loves that Jimin is kind to his core and he loves it when Jimin cuts the teasing crap to end and finally pushes himself into Hoseok like he needs when his heat hits him.
“Hyung, calm down. You know I’m gonna fuck you,” Jimin chuckles, pulling away from their kiss to pull his pants down, taking his briefs off afterward as well.
Hoseok whines, tail unwrapping itself from his wrist to grab at Jimin and pull him close again. “You’re too slow. Feels like I’m dying.”
Jimin laughs again, unbuttoning his shirt, but pauses when Hoseok shakes his head at him. “Keep it on, Jiminnie. You look hot like that.”
“You’re hot,” Jimin giggles, kissing Hoseok’s stomach before he pushes Hoseok up the bed and then kneels on the mattress, positioning himself quickly. “You just want some kittens, don’t you, hyung? Don’t worry, Jiminnie’s here now.”
Despite the fire eating away at him, Hoseok laughs as he pulls on Jimin’s shirt to bring him close again. “You’re gonna give me kittens like we agreed, right? Hyung needs your cock, Jiminnie.”
Jimin kisses him, a shiver rolling down his back when Hoseok’s tail wraps around his thigh to keep him firmly in place. “You’re such a slut when your heat hits. All you want is cock and kittens and you’ll do anything to get both.”
Hoseok smiles, pulling Jimin closer as he wraps one hand around Jimin’s cock and leads it towards his waiting hole. “Your slut. Our kittens. Now fuck me, please. I’m dying.”
Hoseok can feel the head of Jimin’s cock press against his rim and he waits a few seconds before letting go and allowing Jimin to take control, looking up into his lover’s face to silently plead with his eyes alone. Jimin kisses him and eases his hips forward, both of them gasping once Jimin has slid past Hoseok’s stretched rim.
Jimin pushes into Hoseok slowly, pausing to catch his breath once he’s up to the hilt, encompassed by Hoseok’s warm, slick heat. Hoseok is usually warm around him, but during his heats, Jimin feels like he gets it when Hoseok says he’s on fire. It’s not painful for Jimin, but it must be for Hoseok if he feels this warm all over.
Hoseok tugs on his shirt, whine building up in his throat but Jimin silences him with another kiss, his hips slowly moving of their own accord. Arms come up to wrap themselves around Jimin’s neck and Jimin’s breath catches in his chest, his heart feeling like it’s beating against his eardrums. Hoseok is hot and desperate and Jimin’s been ready for a while anyway, but he wants to make this meaningful and he definitely doesn’t want to hurt Hoseok when he’s in this vulnerable of a state.
So Jimin moves slowly at first, hips working steadily and building up into a rhythm that he can keep up with. Hoseok whines underneath him, gripping at him and pulling, losing himself and succumbing to the heat. Jimin keeps his hips pressed against Hoseok, thrusts shallow enough that he’s mostly just rubbing against Hoseok’s prostate in tantalizing circles.
Jimin only begins to move when Hoseok’s claws sink into his back, tearing through the fabric of his shirt. It pushes him over the edge as he leaves his gentle motions behind him.
Hoseok yelps when Jimin’s hips pull back and then rush back in, the thrust pushing Hoseok up the bed. Jimin plants his hands down on either side of Hoseok and presses his mouth to his throat, nibbling on the skin there as his hips pick up speed. Hoseok spreads his legs wider and wraps his tail around Jimin’s bicep to keep himself in place, legs coming up to wrap themselves around Jimin’s waist. Jimin huffs above him, sweaty and out of breath enough that it’s making Hoseok lose his mind even more.
The heat is still roaring through him like flames, but every time the head of Jimin’s cock hits his prostate, Hoseok feels a tiny stream of relief as his orgasm approaches. Hoseok’s refractory period is even shorter during his heat, but Jimin’s always been able to keep up so Hoseok has never minded that fact. He does mind, however, when his orgasm comes too soon and Jimin still hasn’t come yet.
Except, Jimin seems to be close too.
Hoseok’s thighs are trembling and it slowly feels like he isn’t being baked alive anymore, but Jimin’s thrusts are still powerful and quick, pushing them up the bed until Hoseok ear’s brush against the pillow. Soon they’ll be banging into the headboard so Hoseok reaches out and presses his palm against it, keeps himself in place as Jimin grips his hips, pulls him up and fucks into him even harder than before. Hoseok yelps, almost forgetting to keep his hand where it is but quiets when Jimin kisses him again.
Jimin’s rhythm is becoming sloppy as the minutes pass, his thighs beginning to tremble alongside Hoseok’s. Hoseok can already feel a bit of sense returning to him as Jimin continues, teeth worrying his bottom lip in concentration. He just needs the last push before they’re both tumbling over the edge and coming all over one another and Hoseok really wants Jimin to come in him soon.
“Jiminnie,” Hoseok pants, licking his lips and moaning again as Jimin hits home with each movement of his hips. “Please, Jiminnie. Want kittens.”
Jimin grunts above him, mouth parted as he moves. “I’ll give you kittens, Hobi-hyung. I’m gonna come, gonna give you all the kittens you want.”
Hoseok smiles at him, sweat dripping down his temple as he lifts his hips up and betters the angle for the both of them. Jimin closes his eyes and fucks into Hoseok with vigor, putting a last minute effort into his thrusts for both their sakes.
A few more moments pass before Hoseok curls up tight and then goes limp, coming onto his stomach as the fire recedes until it feels like it’s been completely washed away. Jimin stills and comes as well, grinding his hips down until he can only feel Hoseok around him.
Stars explode behind Hoseok’s closed eyes and he knows this isn’t the end of his heat, not by a long shot. He can already feel Jimin’s cock going soft inside him, but he feels full and his heat has been put out by Jimin’s come inside him for the moment.
They’re both panting, breathes heavy around them and Hoseok wants to sleep, but he knows this quiet in his head is only temporary. Soon he’ll be crying for Jimin again, weeping pitifully as Jimin gets him on all fours and fucks him into the mattress until he comes again and fills him up.
Hoseok doesn’t mind his heat as he usually does because this time they’re trying.
It’s about time Hoseok had some kittens, Yoongi’s already had a litter and Taehyung won’t stop sending photos of them in the group chat either. Hoseok can’t deny that he’s been jealous of them for awhile because he has, but Jimin and he decided that they’d try for kittens this time. Jimin wouldn’t wear a condom and Hoseok got off his heat suppressants months ago.
They’re trying and Hoseok really hopes that he gets to have his own litter of kittens.
Jimin takes off his shirt and turns them on their sides until he’s spooning Hoseok from behind, Hoseok’s leg hitched up over his waist so he can remain buried past his rim. Hoseok feels sated and comfortable in this position. He doesn’t want any of Jimin’s come leaking out of him either and while a butt plug could easily help him keep it all in, he prefers this more natural approach.
“You okay, hyung?” Jimin asks behind him, breath tickling Hoseok’s ear.
Hoseok shivers in his hold, but nods and smiles, pushing his ass down more firmly. “I’m fine, Jiminnie.”
“We’ll go at it again soon, just let me catch my breath,” Jimin murmurs, rubbing his nose into Hoseok’s sweaty nape. “I bet you already want my cock though.”
“I always want your cock. My heat just brings out my inner slut is all,” Hoseok chuckles, tail flicking out to grab Jimin’s bicep again.
Jimin scratches behind his ears, blowing on the back of his neck when Hoseok mewls. “You’ve always been a slut, hyung. Admit it.” Hoseok laughs and works his hips down, moaning loudly just to tease Jimin a little. “Always been your slut, Jiminnie. Now fuck me, I don’t care if you’re still soft. Just give me my kittens.”
“I’ll give you our kittens, hyung, Just give me a moment,” Jimin says, pressing a kiss to Hoseok’s shoulder blade now. “Or you can just ride me if you want.”
“I want,” Hoseok replies breathlessly, stomach squirming in excitement when Jimin moves them around again and Hoseok finds himself straddling his waist, hands clamped down behind him on Jimin’s firm thighs. “Always want you, Jiminnie.”
Jimin’s hands find their place on Hoseok’s hips and grip onto him, keeping him still for a moment before letting go again. “Love you hyung.”
“Love you too. Now watch me ride you so you can get hard again.”
Jimin laughs underneath him, the sound tinkling like bells and making Hoseok’s ears twitch. The younger’s hair is spread out on the pillow, resembling a halo, with his pink cheeks bright in the relative darkness of their bedroom. Jimin’s an angel and he’s always been kind and gentle with Hoseok, even during his heats.
Hoseok honestly couldn’t have found anyone better to have kittens with and he’s just so happy that Jimin happened to let him inside one stormy afternoon and gave him the decision to permanently stay with him all those years ago.
Hoseok’s happy he decided to stay and love him, happy that Jimin fell in love with him too.

When Taehyung first met Jimin, the first thing that ran through his head was "fuck, he's so pretty."
The second thought had been "this is your friend's boyfriend, shut up."
His third thought was "you don't even like guys."
Yoongi had an arm thrown over Jimin's shoulder as he introduced them to each other. Taehyung had smiled that rectangular grin of his that always put others at ease and immediately began assaulting Jimin with questions about how their hyung was in bed. Jimin blushed a pretty, dusky pink and Taehyung knew he was absolutely screwed.
Nevertheless, Taehyung managed to make a new friend that day.
Tumblr media
A group chat had been set up in the following months after Taehyung met Jimin for all seven of their friends to set up outings and the like.
Mostly, the chat was used to tease Yoongi for dating Jimin and Jeongguk complaining about how horrible high school is without his hyungs. Of course, there were the standard complaints about straight people that all six of his friend directed at him constantly.
He nervously sweats a little every time Jimin joins in.
Taehyung is surprised that there's someone else besides him who can spam a chat so often. Hoseok really is a force to be reckoned with. Whenever Taehyung checks his phone, there's always at least five new messages from Hoseok.
But besides the group chat, Taehyung is also closer to Jimin now and he always feels a little sick whenever they're together.
He's surprised that Yoongi and Jimin have lasted so long. Yoongi can't generally keep a relationship going for more than three months. He and Jimin have been together for five.
Though, if Taehyung's being really honest with himself, he can admit that Yoongi is a lousy boyfriend and always forgets to pick up Jimin from his last class of the day, leaving Taehyung to navigate them towards their apartments by use of buses and the subway. From what Taehyung's seen, Jimin doesn't look as happy as he did standing next to Yoongi when Taehyung first met him.
It doesn't surprise him when Jimin tells him he broke up with Yoongi. What does surprise him is the fact that despite the breakup, Jimin is still in their group chat and is still friends with Yoongi.
That alone speaks volumes about the kind of person Jimin is and Taehyung's heart hammers in his throat when he and Jimin finally agree to be roommates.
Tumblr media
There's a sock on the front door's knob when Taehyung finally gets home.
It's been a year since Jimin's break up with Yoongi and almost eight months since Jimin moved into Taehyung's too big apartment. Taehyung still thinks it's too big for just him and Jimin to share so he's been thinking about inviting Jeongguk to move in as well, but from the way Seokjin's been prowling around Jeongguk lately, he's pretty sure the eldest wouldn't want Jeongguk living with them. Jeongguk has left high school and joined them in the hell hole that is college though so Taehyung thanks the heavens for that.
Still, he's tired and he really doesn't want to deal with another of Jimin's hook-ups. Ever since moving in, Taehyung's been really lenient about how many times he's come home to a sock on the doorknob. Even more lenient about how many times he walked in anyway and found Jimin fucking someone on the couch or coffee table.
Jimin has a really nice, thick dick and Taehyung thinks he maybe wouldn't mind if Jimin's dick got into him, but there's the whole dilemma of Taehyung's sexuality first and foremost.
God, he's so fucking tired.
He sighs and opens the unlocks the door, Jimin's hook-up be damned. Thankfully, Jimin is not fucking someone in the living room and is instead doing it in his room like a decent human being. Taehyung drops his things in the foyer and shuts the door behind him, taking the sock off it and throwing it on top of the coffee table.
"Ugh," Taehyung groans when the moans from Jimin's room only increase in pitch.
Taehyung does his best to ignore it all. Ignore the loud sound of skin slapping skin and the headboard slamming into the wall as Taehyung walks to his room and passes by Jimin's room. He tries to not think about how pliant the person Jimin is fucking would be under him as Jimin rolls his hips and brings them closer to their orgasm.
Jimin would be such a beautiful sight all sweaty as he towers over Taehyung and Taehyung would cry with each of Jimin's thrusts, wanting more and more. Jimin's thick cock would drag across his prostate slowly before he picked up a brutal pace and Taehyung would be helpless to it all, letting Jimin fuck him however he damn well pleased. Jimin would grab a fistful of his hair as he flipped Taehyung over onto his stomach and Taehyung's elbows would give out, not being able to support his weight as Jimin pushes himself into him over and over again.
Taehyung is in his room now, the door locked as he powers up the sex toy Jeongguk had helped him pick out.
In the last few months, Taehyung has come to the terms that he isn't really as straight as he thought he was. Girls are pretty with their soft skin and soft boobs and soft thighs that would spread wide to let him slip inside them, but boys are also pretty with their soft skin and nice hair and big hands and broad shoulders that Taehyung wants them to use as they pin him to a wall and scissor him open before fucking him. And then there are the people who are neither girls nor boys that Taehyung wants to kiss and rub against just the same.
He hasn't told anybody about how he feels, save for Jeongguk, which resulted in Jeongguk dragging him to a sex shop where he grabbed the first toy he saw and shoved it into Taehyung's hands. The sales associate had quietly judged them as they browsed through a few porn films and rang them up quickly. Jeongguk dropped him off at his apartment with a reassuring pat on his shoulder and left Taehyung with three porno movies and one toy in his discreet black bag.
Taehyung has used the toy a few times so far and each time he's wished it was Jimin who was fucking him instead of this dumb electronically powered thing.
Still, Taehyung opens himself up and slides the toy in, switching to full power as the moans from Jimin's room only get louder. Taehyung closes his eyes and lets the fantasy wrap around him, biting down on his sweatshirt to muffle his whines each time the toy pushes against his prostate.
He comes with Jimin's name on the tip of his tongue and more moans emitting from the wall behind him as Jimin finally releases himself into his hook-up.
Taehyung hopes he never has to meet them.
Tumblr media
The hook-up turns out to be no other than Hoseok.
Taehyung doesn't have to feign the surprise he feels when he walks into the kitchen and finds Jimin cooking dinner shirtless with Hoseok clinging to his waist, nose buried in Jimin's shoulder.
Maybe Taehyung should feel weird about coming to the sounds of his closest friends fucking, but he can't force himself to think about that when Hoseok's peppering kiss after kiss to Jimin's nape. Jimin blushes a pretty, dusky pink while he tries to shoo away the elder and not burn their food and that only spurs Hoseok on further.
Taehyung steps back, glad that neither of them noticed him and returns to his bed, calling it an early night as the blankets engulf him, shielding his tears from the dark bedroom.
Tumblr media
Yoongi is really nice and really pretty, but Taehyung doesn't love him.
Jimin is really nice and really pretty and really smart and really distant and Taehyung does love him.
He doesn't let those facts stop him from getting into bed with Yoongi time and again though. All their friends learn Taehyung isn't as straight as he lead them to believe and Yoongi holds his hand often.
The sex is nice, great even, but Taehyung's heart isn't in it.
He lets Yoongi stay the night often and they start cuddling after sex. A few more months of sleeping around and sleeping over at the other's place pass and Yoongi asks him out on a proper date.
Taehyung says yes.
Their sex life becomes tame, but Taehyung still enjoys it. He likes fucking Yoongi into the mattress from time to time, but he likes it more when they wake up in the soft, early sunlight and Taehyung rides him with his face pressed into Yoongi's throat. Yoongi lets him do most of the work but he always buys them breakfast afterward to make up for it.
Yoongi is nice and pretty and Taehyung finds it hard to sleep without him sometimes, but Taehyung doesn't love him.
Yet.
Jimin is kind and happy for Taehyung and happy with Hoseok and Taehyung's heart doesn't jump into his throat anymore whenever Jimin is around.
Tumblr media
When Jimin and Hoseok get engaged, Taehyung knows all those little fantasies of his about Jimin realizing he's actually been in love with Taehyung all along are long dead.
Jimin is happy and Taehyung is happy and they are genuinely happy for one another.
Jimin asks him to be best man and Taehyung agrees, throwing himself into the wedding preparations. Yoongi kisses him goodnight every night now, having moved in when Jimin moved out.
Taehyung spends his days working and planning a wedding and in the night, goes home to Yoongi and ramen and shitty comedy movies that neither of them laughs at for the actual jokes being cracked. Yoongi kisses him slow and soft and holds Taehyung gently in his arms as they lounge on the couch.
Taehyung doesn't really know what was the defining point that made him realize he got over Jimin and fell in love with Yoongi, but it doesn't really bother him.
Yoongi loves him in his own quiet way and Taehyung loves him back.
Maybe that's all Taehyung ever needed.

Tumblr media
“Joonie if we don’t see Black Panther, I’m literally going to hate you forever,” Seokjin whines, prodding at Namjoon’s sides as he does. “I will fight you to the death.”
Namjoon laughs nervously, unsure of whether the elder is serious or not. “Hyung, if you kill me who will keep your cold feet warm at night?”
Seokjin scoffs, pushing Namjoon up the line as the next person walks up to buy their ticket. “Yoongichi, of course. Who else runs at the same temperature you do except for him?”
“Well, It’s good to know that my boyfriend of three years is crushing on my best friend. Thanks, babe,” Namjoon replies sarcastically, wincing when Seokjin slaps his arm in retaliation. “Ow!”
“That's what you get for implying that I’m a slut,” Seokjin sniffs, not bothering to keep his voice quiet as the mother behind them claps her hands over the ears of her son with an evil look directed right at Seokjin.
Namjoon sighs and wraps an arm around the elder’s shoulders to pull him in close. “Hyung, I apologize because that was never my intention in the first place. You know I love you.”
Seokjin preens under his touch and quick apology, nodding smugly. “That's more like it. I love you too, Joon-ah.”
Namjoon smiles and presses a kiss to Seokjin’s temple, moving them along until it's their turn to step up and buy their tickets from the booth. “Two for Black Panther, please.”
Seokjin whoops and hangs off Namjoon’s arm, grabbing the tickets as soon as Namjoon has paid for them. Namjoon laughs at him, holding the door open so that Seokjin can enter first and smiling when Seokjin pats his cheek in thanks. The elder hands their tickets to the boy at the door and takes their stubs back, shoving them into his pocket as he leads Namjoon to the concession line. Seokjin chatters about their food options, fingers dancing over Namjoon’s soulmate timer and Namjoon shivers at the subtle touch of his hyung’s fingertips on his skin.
They’ve been together for three years and throughout those three years, Namjoon has always wondered why Seokjin isn't his soulmate. They're very suited to each other, Namjoon being hot-headed at times but cooling down under Seokjin’s patient guidance. Seokjin wanting to dote on someone while also being doted on in return. Namjoon feels like the older one most of the time because of how often Seokjin acts like a child, but he's grown used to it and Seokjin is happy that he gets to be foolish with the one he trusts and loves the most.
They’ve only talked about their soulmates once, but it had told Namjoon all he really had to know.
Seokjin’s soulmate had died young when Seokjin was six. His timer has an infinity symbol instead of a countdown or a set of zeros.
Because death isn't really the end and there will always be an infinite amount of chances to love again.
Namjoon hasn't met his soulmate yet, but he's about to.
His timer is in its last ten seconds, his internal clock clanging with vibrations as the pull from his soulmate grows stronger. Namjoon has no idea what may happen, but he knows he won't leave Seokjin for his soulmate. Not now when the ban on non-soulmates getting married is about to be lifted.
Because Namjoon can see himself spending the rest of his life with Seokjin, can see himself raising kids and pets of all sorts together. He can see them in a field as they watch the stars for the very last time before they take their last breaths together.
Namjoon loves Seokjin enough that never meeting his soulmate wouldn't matter to him.
But as they stand in line, with Seokjin debating on what to order, Namjoon's timer hits zero.
He looks up the moment it does and meets the gaze of his soulmate.
It's a man. Shorter than Namjoon with brown wavy hair and a heart-shaped mouth. The apples of his cheeks are perfectly round, giving him a cheery demeanor even from afar. He's smiling, but the smile is frozen on his face.
He's beautiful.
But he isn't Namjoon's.
Because when Namjoon looks down, he finds that his soulmate is holding hands with someone else. Namjoon's soulmate is holding hands with a boy who has a round face, a beautiful eye-smile, and light orange hair. They look good together and Namjoon doesn't want to ruin that.
He isn't his soulmate's either. They do not have the choice to be with one another at the moment.
He looks down to where Seokjin has his hand wrapped around his and Namjoon's heart thumps in his chest, reminding him of what he already has ー of what he's always wanted. Someone to love and to be loved in return.
Namjoon looks back up to find that his soulmate is looking at his hand intertwined with Seokjin's as well. His soulmate blinks a few times then looks down at where he's holding hands with Tangerine. He pauses there as if thinking something over and Namjoon guesses that he probably knows exactly what his soulmate is debating.
(A few years from now, Namjoon will find out that his soulmate's name is Jung Hoseok and that Tangerine's name was Park Jimin. After Jimin dies, Hoseok will be but a mere shell of who he used to be and Namjoon will understand because he felt the same way after Seokjin passed away from an illness. They'll meet again when Yoongi introduces them and then they won't let go.
But right now, Namjoon doesn't know any of that and right now, they are just two men in love with someone who isn't their soulmate. They are simply men in love with the wrong person at the right time. And that's all that Namjoon focuses on.)
His soulmate looks back up and a moment of silent understanding passes between them.
Now isn't the time, nor the place.
Seokjin tugs on Namjoon's arm, vying for his attention again and Namjoon nods at his soulmate before looking at the elder with a calm smile on his face. Seokjin is tracing the zeros on Namjoon's wrist, one brow piqued in question.
Namjoon shakes his head and feels his heart warm when Seokjin smiles at him, bringing him in close for a tame kiss, one of the few that Seokjin reserves for when they're out in public and he's pleased about something Namjoon did.
Because Namjoon has a soulmate, and even if it isn't Seokjin, Namjoon is still happy. Seokjin wants Namjoon to be happy just as much as Namjoon wants Seokjin to be happy as well.
That's all that matters.

⇢ part five of build me a place i can call home
Tumblr media
When Jimin's rut is approaching, he is not surprised when he comes home to Hoseok making a nest in their living room.
It is a habit that most of their friends know nothing about and something that Hoseok's mother instilled in him back when everyone expected him to present as an omega. It shocked just about everyone in his family when he presented as an alpha instead and started dating Jimin, another alpha.
Not like Hoseok cared much since his family was very supportive, but when Jimin's first rut approached, he found himself nesting. He told himself he would make the nest while Jimin was still out and then put it all back before Jimin arrived. Except, he fell asleep in the nest and when Jimin got home and found him, Hoseok did not have the time to feel embarrassed because Jimin was joining him in the nest, curling around him until Hoseok was the little spoon.
Of course, afterward, Hoseok explained what it was for and Jimin had only nodded and kissed him silly, reassuring him that he could make nests whenever he wanted to.
Hoseok almost cried when his own rut approached and Jimin made a nest as well, pulling Hoseok to him until the older alpha could not help but let his rut take control and pushed Jimin's thighs apart. Since then, they have gone through a handful of ruts together and Jimin's is due tomorrow, but it might spring up on them during the night so Hoseok is making the nest now.
Jimin watches him, remembering his last rut when Hoseok had begged him for a knot and the only reason Jimin had obliged was because Hoseok had fucked himself on dildos bigger than his knot before. He doesn't think Hoseok will ask him for it again because last time he had cried himself sick and Jimin was afraid to touch him for an entire week, but even if he does, Jimin won't let his rut decide for him.
So he keeps watching him, heart fluttering with each sound Hoseok makes. His brows scrunch together as he shifts the blankets again, doing his best to make the nest circular. A pillow is dislodged in the struggle and Jimin's dick jumps at the sound of the growl Hoseok makes in response. Hoseok manages to fix the nest again, grumbling to himself under his breath as he does and Jimin can't help but smile.
The elder is now stepping back from the nest though, examining it before he steps farther away and finds Jimin, scenting him in welcome. Jimin wraps an arm around him and scents him in return, his heart soaring when Hoseok hums under his breath and bends to nuzzle his face into Jimin's chest.
Jimin wraps both of his arms around his mate. He lets the older alpha lead them to the nest before them where they kiss and cuddle some more, both their hearts filled with warmth and love.

summary: When his student, Kim Taehyung, lets loose that the calculus teacher may have a crush on him, Hoseok doesn't really know what he should think...or maybe he does.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Mr. Jung! Did you know that Mr. Park has a crush on you?”
Hoseok startles from where he was sat behind his desk, focused intently on grading the essays lying in front of him. "Mr. Park?"
There are two Mr. Parks in the high school that Hoseok has been teaching at for the past three years. One is an old man who is the unofficial head of their small history department. The other is a new teacher, a year younger than Hoseok, who teaches an advanced form of math and has all the kids in Hoseok's language arts classes buzzing about with his name in their mouths.
Hoseok really hopes that Taehyung doesn't mean the old man.
Taehyung rises on his tiptoes and beams at him, his rectangular grin spread wide across his face. "The calculus teacher! You know which Mr. Park I'm talking about, Mr. Jung. You have a crush on him too!"
"What?" Hoseok sputters, his face feeling much too warm as he ducks his gaze back to the essays in front of him. "No, I don't."
Taehyung deflates a little and frowns, his brow furrowed. "But I already told him that you did! Now I'll have to tell him that I was wrong."
"You did WHAT?" Hoseok screeches, standing so suddenly that he bangs his knee on his desk. "OW!"
Taehyung watches him hop around and rub his knee, face blank now with his mouth hanging open. His bangs flop into his face when he shakes his head and then he comes around the desk with his hands open as if Hoseok is a scared cat that has been cornered. Hoseok is too busy making sure that his leg is not about to give out to notice that fact until Taehyung is grabbing his arms and guiding him back into his seat.
"Sorry, Mr. Jung," Taehyung apologizes as he steps back, his hands still held up in a placating manner. "Should I go and tell Mr. Park that you don't have a crush on him then?"
Hoseok takes a deep breath and wills himself to not jump up so suddenly again. "I— No, Taehyung. That's okay, please do not say anything anymore. Please."
Taehyung exaggerates the action of zipping his mouth closed and throwing away the key, his signature grin taking up his face as soon as he has finished. Hoseok shakes his head at him and sighs, shooing him away when Taehyung takes a step closer.
"Go on and have your lunch, Taehyung. I still have papers to grade," Hoseok murmurs from behind the hand that covers his face, only looking up when Taehyung has turned around and began walking away to his relief.
But just as Taehyung has made it to the door, he looks over his shoulder and winks at Hoseok. "Glad I didn't lie to Mr. Park. Bye, Mr. Jung! See you tomorrow for class!"
Hoseok almost stands up again but Taehyung has already pranced out the door and now he is left alone with his ungraded essays again, wondering why exactly his heart is beating a mile a minute. He sighs and rubs his knee as he settles back behind his desk and picks up his grading where he left off.
He very carefully tucks away all thoughts about Taehyung and what he said today into the back of his mind and decides that is a problem for future Hoseok instead.
Tumblr media
And a problem for Hoseok it does become because the next day Mr. Park knocks on his door with a timid look on his face.
(Hoseok knows that his name is Jimin, that he is young and that this is only his first year teaching here, but for the sake of his sanity, he will refer to his coworker as Mr. Park for the time being.)
"Um, yes? Did you need something?" Hoseok asks sheepishly, not sure whether he should invite Mr. Park to come in or to merely stay standing in the doorway.
Mr. Park decides for him though and strides confidently into Hoseok's classroom, a shaky smile on his lips that does not match the way he moves. Hoseok watches him from behind his desk, only his lunch and a few lesson plan ideas laid out in front of him today. Mr. Park stops a few feet away from his desk and flushes a pretty pink that makes Hoseok want to reach out and pinch his cheeks for being so cute, but they are at work and Hoseok is not going to be weird about this.
He vaguely remembers what Taehyung told him the day before, but right now, Hoseok is focusing on the way Jimin's smile makes his eyes crinkle until they too are smiling with him.
Cute really does not begin to cover it.
"So, a student told me something really interesting yesterday..." Mr. Park trails off there, his brows raised as he stares at Hoseok, willing him to say something.
Hoseok freezes and barely remembers to blink before his conversation with Taehyung from the day before breezes into his mind with perfect clarity. "Oh. Kim Taehyung?"
Mr. Park nods and his face flushes a darker pink as he ducks his head before he looks back up again to stare at Hoseok once more. "The very same."
"I'm sorry if what he said made you uncomfortable," Hoseok starts to say, his own face feeling much too warm as he blunders forward. "I've known him since he was a freshman and he has always had a way of being a bit too blunt for many to be okay with. You can just pretend that he never told you anything if you like. It's fine."
"Oh," Mr. Park murmurs, his face even pinker than before. "Um, well this is awkward now."
Hoseok blinks at him, not sure what to say so he merely tilts his head up even further and lifts a brow up in a silent question.
Mr. Park toes at the ground and twists his fingers together in front of him. "I, um, was kind of hoping that he was, uh..."
Inside his head, Hoseok is screaming, but what actually comes out of his mouth instead is, "You were hoping that he was telling the truth?"
Mr. Park nods, his face flaming, and Hoseok decides then and there that he should probably start calling him by his first name now.
Jimin ducks his head again and does not say anything, leaving the rest of this for Hoseok to take on. As much as Hoseok doesn't actually want to start dating someone from work, he also cannot deny that when Jimin first started working here, he immediately caught his eye. That was a mere two months ago and Hoseok has of course spoken with him before and discussed a few of their favorite students with one another at staff functions and the like, but when it came to personal things — when it came to the way Jimin always managed to make Hoseok's heart race after each conversation — Hoseok avoided it like the plague.
"It's okay if it wasn't though," Jimin says, his voice so soft that Hoseok could pretend that he didn't even hear him.
Of course, he won't do that so he lets out a heavy breath and smiles up at Jimin, hoping that it is comforting enough to make the younger teacher relax even the tiniest bit. "Well, I don't think he was wrong."
"Really?" Jimin asks with the tone of his voice so incredibly hopeful that Hoseok feels like someone has gripped his heart in their icy cold fist and started squeezing it.
Hoseok should probably take this chance now to back out and pretend that Taehyung was all wrong, that Jimin got his own hopes up for nothing, but that would be cruel wouldn't it be? Cruelty is not in Hoseok's vocabulary after all and it is not like Hoseok is being forced into this anyway.
Sometimes, he and Jimin will have lunch together because they are the youngest of the teachers here so they get along a lot better than they do with others, but Jimin is a pretty nice guy too. From what Hoseok has seen, he is kind and intelligent and incredibly patient as well. The students like him as well and Hoseok knows how hard it is to gain the approval of so many young adults that are not all alike.
Other times, Hoseok will purposefully retreat and back away from Jimin because he is afraid of what their blossoming friendship could turn into, but those instances are slight and Hoseok never turns down anyone without a good reason.
And right now, the only reason Hoseok can conjure up is that they are co-workers and if they do happen to not work out, that might make work incredibly awkward and difficult for them both.
Jimin is sweet though and Hoseok has known Taehyung for three years and he knows that the young boy does not interfere with personal matters unless he is certain that things will turn out okay in the end. As a teacher, shouldn't Hoseok put some faith into what his students do?
So he leans his head on his head and grins up at Jimin, his heart racing in his chest as he says, "Really."
Jimin beams like he just won the lottery and Hoseok thinks he might be able to understand those romance novels Taehyung likes so much a little better now.

glittering gold forevermore

summary: Jimin is the size of his thumb, but he is glittering and gold and that automatically makes Hoseok want to keep him.
⇢ day seven of jihope week 2018
Tumblr media
Hoseok studies the tiny creature on his desk, trying his best to distinguish between the golds and honey yellows.
Jimin is back to the tiny form he held when he revealed himself to Hoseok the first time. Hoseok knows that he can become larger at whim, can take on the usual shape and form of the average human if he must, but Jimin prefers this state best.
He's gripping onto a few flowers from their stems between both of his hands, his tiny face flushed a delicate peach. There is nothing delicate about Jimin though and Hoseok knows that ー knows it but does not care.
He is tiny but gorgeous. There is no doubt about that.
The only disadvantage of Jimin's tiny form is that Hoseok can not pinch his cheeks without possibly running the risk of crushing his skull.
Hoseok still remembers the nights before he knew Jimin even existed. He thought he must have been going crazy hearing a bell jingle every few seconds when he tried to go to sleep. It was not until Jimin landed on his nose and almost poked out Hoseok's eye did he realize that the bell was the sound of Jimin's pealing laughter.
Jimin lifts the flower stems over his shoulder and huffs at Hoseok, pouting the best that he can while he struggles. Hoseok smiles at him, his heartbeat beginning to accelerate as he takes the flowers from Jimin and lays them on top of his lyric notebook. Hoseok reaches across the side of his desk and opens a drawer, pulling out a cracked leatherbound book. Jimin laughs and flutters up onto the top of his head, wanting to see Hoseok press these new flowers between the last of his blank pages.
The book is filled with dozens upon dozens of flowers that Jimin has brought him, each and every one still looking and smelling as fresh as the day they were picked. Hoseok doesn't know if it is due to some kind of spell Jimin may have cast on the flowers or if fae flowers are just naturally like this, but he becomes distracted when Jimin flies down until he is perched on Hoseok's knuckles.
Jimin is the size of his thumb, but he is glittering and gold and that automatically makes Hoseok want to keep him.
Or maybe he wants Jimin to keep him instead? Hoseok has no clue for how this should work, but he does know that Jimin has been courting him for months now. He has the flowers, the crystals, and the jewelry to prove it. There was also fruit and candy that he never got the chance to eat before ants invaded, but he can tell that the flowers are not the only gift Jimin brings tonight.
Hoseok studies the fae, blinking every time Jimin's wings flutter and throw off beams of golden light. He's warm tonight, not the usual cold that Hoseok has grown used to and he doesn't know what that means for faes, but for him, for a human, it means a lot.
Jimin's wings slide through the air as he lifts off and flies past Hoseok, quickly taking on the humanoid form. Hoseok immediately reaches out to grab hold of one of Jimin's cheeks but pauses as the fae holds his hand out to him.
He uncurls his fist and reveals a piece of fruit, ripe and bright red. It looks like a seedless strawberry of sorts and Hoseok extends his hand, palm open towards Jimin. Jimin smiles at him as he drops the fruit in his outstretched hand, waiting patiently as Hoseok decides.
Hoseok knows that he will be leaving to the realm of faes once he eats this fruit, but if it means he can be with Jimin, then he isn't sure it is that bad of an idea really. He steps forward and cups Jimin's face with his free hand, smiling down at the fae as Jimin looks up to meet his sure gaze.
They exchange no words. Nothing is uttered between them, but Hoseok thinks him taking a bite out of the fruit and swallowing it says enough for itself and about his feelings for Jimin.

you’re my tear
Tumblr media
pairing: jihope  genre: angst, break up au, rated pg  warnings: breaking up, crying, heavy angst  words: 1040
summary: Jimin’s such a child, no wonder Hoseok doesn’t love him anymore.
⇢ day five of jihope week 2018
Tumblr media
"So that's it."
Hoseok nods from the closet, a suitcase by his feet. "That's it."
"You're not even going to try and fix this? Fix us?" Jimin asks, still seated on the bed.
"What's to fix?" Hoseok replies immediately, picking up his suitcase with the last of his things in it. "We've been over for a while."
Jimin shakes his head and wrings his hands together in his lap. "I don't understand. I thought we were fine."
Hoseok laughs humorlessly and walks towards the door, not bothering to spare a glance over his shoulder. "Jimin, we haven't been fine for a long time. We're just not in love anymore, plain and simple."
His back is to him, the line of his shoulders stiff. Jimin wants to scream, wants to kick and punch himself because this was never meant to happen. He loves Hoseok, has always loved him. He has been in love with him since they were kids, how could Hoseok say that they aren't in love anymore?
If someone is not in love anymore, then it's Hoseok, not Jimin. Jimin feels like his stomach has dropped right out of him as Hoseok walks down the hallway, steps measured and steady. The elder's resolve is unbending and Jimin wishes he could do something about this.
"Hyung," Jimin calls out, breath stuttering in his chest when Hoseok pauses. "You don't get to decide when I've stopped loving someone."
Hoseok sighs heavily, keeping still as Jimin stands and walks towards him. Jimin is sure of the fact that he isn't going to save this, that Hoseok is going to walk out that door and out of his life, but if he leaves then he has to know. Nothing is going to stop him from saying it.
"I do love you. Just because it comforts you to think that neither of us wants this does not mean that it is true and you know that. You know that I've always looked up to you, how long I pined after you. You don't get to tell me when I'm not in love with you anymore, do you hear me?" Jimin spits through his teeth, not expecting for this level of an outburst to come forth or for so much anger to channel through him either.
Whatever has been happening to the elder, whoever made him think otherwise, Jimin sincerely curses every and anything that convinced Hoseok Jimin didn't love him anymore. The apartment is going to feel empty and cold for a long while after Hoseok leaves, Jimin is sure of it, but he'll be okay eventually.
It will be hard to get over Hoseok, but not impossible. Jimin's loved him for as long as he can remember, but he still dated other people before they got together. He loved them as much as he loved Hoseok and the only reason they never seemed to work out is that they knew he didn't love just them. They knew his heart was big enough, but it never comforted their egos and it bruised their pride. Jimin got tired of putting on a mask a long time ago.
"Hyung, it's okay if you don't love me anymore," Jimin says, the words scalding his mouth as his heart trembles with each passing second, "but don't decide shit for me. I know how pathetic you must think I am for still being in love, how stupid you think I am for even admitting this."
Jimin is crying and he doesn't know when tears even began to pool in his eyes, but he's crying and it is ugly. Sobs wrack his chest. It's difficult to breathe and whenever tears threaten his vision, Jimin blinks them away as quickly as they came, wanting nothing more than for Hoseok to hold him. For Hoseok to comfort him one last time.
"I'll always love you, hyung," Jimin mumbles, sniffling like a child, "I will and it's fine if you don't love me, but don't lie about it to my face. I can't stand that. I hate liars and I don't want to hate you, no matter how much you wish I did."
Hoseok has said nothing so far, simply standing there as Jimin cries. His arms hang limply by his sides, hands curled into fists as Jimin wipes pitifully at his face. Jimin must look like such a kid to him with snot and tears running down his red, shiny face. He's an ugly crier and he knows it, such a contrast when compared to how beautiful Hoseok looks like when he cries, but he doesn't care. Jimin doesn't care about any of that anymore.
"If you are going to go, then at least kiss me goodbye one last time. I don't care if you don't love me anymore, I just need the closure," Jimin begs, feeling shitty and fucked up to his core. "Please?"
The elder does not say anything at all as he lets go of his suitcase and steps forward, using his palms to wipe Jimin's mouth clean. He grabs Jimin's chin and tilts his head up, leaning down quickly to press their lips together. Jimin stands there and merely enjoys the feeling, sure of the fact this is the last time they will ever kiss again.
When Hoseok pulls back, Jimin closes his eyes and listens to the elder pick his suitcase up and walk out the door. Jimin sinks to the ground as the front door slams shut and sobs into his hands, curling into a ball as he weeps.
He has always loved Hoseok and he always will, but Hoseok does not love him anymore and it's time Jimin faced the music and grew the fuck up. It is really no wonder Hoseok fell out of love considering Jimin still acts like such a kid, crying over the dumbest of things.
Heartbreak may not be such a dumb thing to cry over, but Jimin feels like an idiot anyway so he lets it all out as he wails in despair.
When Taehyung lets himself in a few hours later, he finds Jimin asleep on the floor, still curled up into a ball with dried tear tracks, snot covering his face, and his tiny, fragile heart broken.

When Jimin arrives at the entrance of the cave, he sits down on the lip and waits patiently.
Water laps at his feet, only nipping at his calves when a wave pushes it forward. The day is stifling with its heat, almost hot enough that Jimin worries Hoseok won't come.
The brown-haired merman always has trouble emerging from underneath when it's hot enough to dry him up almost immediately. Jimin has told him countless times that he doesn't have to force himself to come above water if it hurts him, but he never seems to listen. Instead, he smiles at Jimin like he cracked a particularly amusing joke and presses another gift into his hands to change the subject.
Jimin watches the waves and lets the refreshing, cool water distract him for a moment. He comes here nearly day, at varying points in time thanks to his work schedule, but always on time to see Hoseok.
He still remembers the first time they met.
Jimin was eight and while out surfing, got caught in a riptide. He tried to swim parallel to the shore as his surfing and swimming instructors had told him to if he ever got caught in this situation. His arms had tired quickly enough though and then he had to fight to tread water when his surfboard nearly smacked him in the head when he wasn't paying attention.
The shore had seemed so far away in that moment and Jimin had wondered briefly if he should have listened to everyone who had warned him away from swimming in this section of the beach. No one ever came here, claiming it was haunted, that the water was deadly, this place just felt off somehow. Jimin had believed most of the rumors about the beach until he came here for himself and felt none of the bad feelings others had warned him about.
It was just a normal stretch of beach. Nothing else. And it was private. Which was great for him since he didn't want to surf where others could see him wipe out and fail.
Maybe he should have gone to the more populated parts of the beach, he thinks as he tries swimming parallel to the shore again. At least he wouldn't be stuck here all alone, trying to not get caught up in the current and drown.
His arms tired faster the second time around though and Jimin thought about giving up. He thought of his mom and dad at work and at home, waiting to hear about his day at dinner, when they would realize that he wasn't going to come home ever again and then the funeral that would probably follow. It made tears sting his eyes as he worked furiously to get back to shore, heading straight forward that time in his desperation and screaming when the current pushed his surfboard back against him in the center of his chest.
He gasped for breath, sure of the fact that a large bruise would color his chest if he got back to shore alive. He was running out of options though and the beach looked even farther away than before.
Then an arm had wrapped around his waist and suddenly, Jimin was being propelled smoothly to the side instead of forward. He looked to his savior, mouth opening wide when he met the golden eyes of a boy close to his age. The boy had brown hair and gills in his neck, his skin a golden brown that made Jimin look pale in comparison. He moved them parallel to the shore until they had escaped the current and lead them forward to the sand Jimin could see glittering closely.
Hoseok had saved him that day and then comforted Jimin as he cried once he got back on land. They had exchanged names and Jimin had thanked him again and again as he wiped at his face.
Since then, Jimin has come to see Hoseok almost every day. It took Jimin almost a week after they met to figure out that Hoseok was a mermaid, which should have been obvious with the gills and tail and all. He had also quickly learned to never speak a word of his friend to others, afraid of what would happen once someone knew about him.
Mermaids are still hunted for their scales in some places, but sightings have dropped drastically in the years from Jimin's youth. No one is able to make a serious profession out of mermaid hunting anymore and new laws were enacted recently to keep them safe.
Jimin doesn't trust those laws as far as he can throw them, but it is hard to explain to his parents why he refuses to settle down even though he is at the age where he should have had a partner already.
He's only twenty-three, it won't be the end of the world if he decides to never date. Plus, his heart is already taken anyway ー not like he would ever admit that out loud, but still. That has to count for something, right?
A hand slaps his calf and draws him out of his thoughts.
"Miss me, Jiminnie?" Hoseok leers at him.
Jimin rolls his eyes. "It hasn't even been twenty-four hours yet, Hobi."
"So?" Hoseok shrugs as he swims forward and lays himself down on top of Jimin's calves.
He crosses his arms over Jimin's knees and smiles at he tilts his head up, the sunlight creating a halo around his head. "Got you something."
"You always have something for me," Jimin replies easily, trying to make sure that his face doesn't flush. "I read a few interesting texts about that yesterday actually."
Hoseok's cheeks glow with a dusting of blue for a moment before he gets a hold of himself. "Oh?"
Jimin nods his head and settles back, hands supporting his weight from behind. "Yep. Something about mermaids courting their potential mates by bringing them shiny stuff. Sometimes, when a mermaid comes of age, suitors will compete against each other by gifting the mermaid in question with the shiniest things they can find. Doesn't matter if the gift is useful or thoughtful, as long as it's shinier and glitters more than the rest, then that suitor is guaranteed a win."
"Uh-huh," Hoseok hums to himself.
"Yep," Jimin murmurs, fighting the urge to look down and meet Hoseok's gaze. "It got me thinking."
Hoseok shuffles on his knees. "Oh? What about?"
Jimin smiles. "Whether you're courting me or not."
Silence befalls them quickly. Jimin's resolve wavers as he looks down to see Hoseok's reaction.
Hoseok is blushing a light blue once more, eyes focusing on the cave past Jimin's shoulder instead of Jimin himself. He seems to be struggling with something internally and Jimin waits.
His patience wins out in the end when Hoseok sighs and flops down on Jimin firmly, the edges of his lips beginning to dip down in a frown. "Would you be bothered if I was?"
"No," Jimin answers honestly. "I would be pleased."
Hoseok's golden eyes dart up to meet Jimin's before they flicker to the side again. "Really?"
The blue of Hoseok's cheeks deepens as Jimin smiles. "Of course. I mean, I don't know how it could work long term, but I wouldn't mind being with you, Hobi."
"Do you mean it?" Hoseok asks, his voice surprisingly small as if Jimin is going to take what he said back as some kind of a joke.
Jimin would never do that, so, instead, he grips Hoseok by the chin and grins at the merman. "Yes, Hobi. I really do mean it. I wouldn't play with your feelings like that."
Hoseok brightens almost immediately, back to his sunshiny self. "Good, because I have been courting you."
"I'm glad I was right then," Jimin murmurs.
Hoseok smiles back, his grin bright enough to power countries and lead Jimin through the dark. "Oh, here!"
Jimin holds his hand out for the gift, smiling at the gold coin Hoseok plops into the palm of his hand. He lifts it up and turns it between his fingers, examining the way the sun shines off its edges. It reminds him of the necklace Hoseok gave him a week ago, something that turned out to cost quite a lot when Jimin took it to a pawnshop to figure out what kind of gemstone was inlaid in it. The owner had gawked at it, stuttering out an extremely high number that Jimin had asked him to repeat again just to make sure he had heard it right.
That same necklace is clasped around his neck, tucked underneath his shirt from prying eyes and thieving hands alike. Jimin touches the chain as he lets his hand fall and closes his palm around the gold coin.
"I love it," Jimin murmurs as he meets Hoseok's gaze once more. "Thank you, Hobi."
Hoseok beams at him. "I'm glad you like it. My Jiminnie deserves the best and shiniest things!"
"Your Jiminnie, huh?" Jimin smirks.
"You've been mine since we met, Jiminnie," Hoseok replies, tilting his head to the side as he continues. "You knew that, didn't you?"
Jimin only smiles, something warm and soft settling deep within him. "Yes, I knew that."
Hoseok smiles back, gold eyes flashing in the sunlight with his tail trailing out behind him. Jimin really doesn't know how they are going to make this work between them. What he does know though is that they can.
Because just as Jimin has been Hoseok's ever since they met, Hoseok has also been Jimin's in return.

Tumblr media
One. Two. Three.
Again.
One. Two. Three.
Again.
Jimin does it again, following the steps carefully, smiling up at his newly proclaimed husband.
Hoseok smiles down at him as well, their heads bent forward to be even closer.
"One. Two. Three," Hoseok whispers as they continue to dance. "Again."
Jimin keeps dancing, his hands on Hoseok's waist as they move. Even without Hoseok narrating, it would've been difficult to ignore the step sequence. Still, they keep moving, breaths intermingling in the tiny distance between them, hands never leaving the other's body. Everyone has their eyes on them, undeniably happy for the couple and Jimin and Hoseok are happy too.
Their smiles never falter, because why would they?
This is the moment Jimin has been waiting for ever since he asked Hoseok to marry him.
It really should not have surprised him when Hoseok jumped and squealed out a yes when Jimin proposed, but he isn't going to complain about the elder's enthusiasm, especially not when the wedding's over and they climb off their plane, arriving in Hawaii of all places for their honeymoon, and then Hoseok's dragging him into the hotel bed without a word being spoken. Because words don't need to be spoken, at least not for this particular part.
Jimin is happy to match that enthusiasm by kissing up the entire length of Hoseok's legs before nosing at his hard-on through his briefs then laughing when Hoseok struggles to kick them off. The elder manages to get them off and Jimin is back to nuzzling at his husband's cock without any sort of preamble at all.
It's easy to let his hands wander as his mouth works over the elder, they've done this what feels like a million times, the only difference now is that they have a piece of paper that proclaims them married. Really no difference at all if Jimin thinks about it hard enough. But he doesn't because he's preoccupied with something much more important.
Hoseok hisses when Jimin works his cock all the way to the back of his throat and Jimin grins around his girth as Hoseok grips his hair tighter than what's really necessary. Jimin trails the vein that runs on the underside of Hoseok's cock and fights back a giggle when Hoseok's hips kick up in response. Jimin sometimes forgets how entertaining it is to give the elder a blowjob, not because he doesn't do it often, but because Hoseok always tries to rush Jimin through it so that he can get his mouth on Jimin instead.
And while Jimin appreciates the gesture, he likes taking his time when he blows Hoseok.
Jimin grabs the base of the shaft and pushes his other palm into Hoseok's abdomen to keep the elder down. It works for a total of twenty seconds and Jimin sucks greedily at the head of Hoseok's cock before Hoseok's hips cant forward once more and the rest of his dick is pushed into Jimin's mouth.
"Minnie," Hoseok pants above him. "Fuck, fu...please."
Jimin holds his palm out for the bottle of lube and Hoseok hands him it without another word, sighing gratefully when Jimin works a digit in, Hoseok's cock still enveloped by the heated cavern of Jimin's mouth. Hoseok relaxes against the pillows then, one hand in Jimin's hair while the other tweaks his nipple. Jimin watches him, catching Hoseok's eye and the two newlyweds stare at one another while Jimin manages to work in a second finger beside the first.
Hoseok welcomes the slight burn that accompanies the stretch, but doesn't let the minor pain overpower the pleasure and arousal watching Jimin brings him as he sucks Hoseok's cock and scissors him open. Jimin keeps his gaze as his fingertips brush against a spongey bundle of nerves and Hoseok's hips kick once more.
Jimin loves his husband like this. Spread out and relaxed, calm and aroused and oh so soft. Hoseok is beautiful like this with his legs spread wide and his gaze meeting Jimin's as he grips at the younger's soft hair and guides him up and down his girth. Jimin almost smiles again when he lets his digits slip out of Hoseok to drizzle them with more lube and Hoseok whines at the loss before Jimin's pushing his fingers back into his husband with a third one joining them this time.
Hoseok groans and throws an arm over his eyes, breaking Jimin's gaze but his grip on the younger's hair as strong as ever. Jimin hums around Hoseok's cock as he easily works the elder the rest of the way open and presses more insistently against Hoseok's prostate. Hoseok's hips jerk again and Jimin pauses when the elder twitches in his mouth.
"Please," Hoseok whines, arm still covering his eyes as he pleads. "Jimin-ah, please fuck me already."
Jimin pops his husband's cock out of his mouth and chuckles before he lets his fingers slide out of the elder again. Jimin holds his hand out for a condom, but Hoseok only shakes his head and whines again.
"Wanna feel you. Every inch of you, Minnie, please."
And when Hoseok asks him so prettily, who is Jimin to deny him his request?
So Jimin uses the leftover lube on his fingers to slick up his own erection as Hoseok puts a pillow underneath his hips and then Jimin is positioning himself at Hoseok's entrance, but he pauses.
Jimin takes Hoseok's arm and pulls it away from his face, warranting the elder's eyes as he slowly presses himself into his husband. Hoseok groans as soon as the head of Jimin's cock has passed through his tight ring of muscle and Jimin moans when Hoseok clenches around him. But then he stills again, waiting for Hoseok to loosen so he can get the rest of the way in. Hoseok takes deep breaths and relaxes again and Jimin gradually bottoms out in his husband.
They stay pressed together like that for who knows how long, but Jimin only begins to move once Hoseok meets his gaze again and nods his head fervently, wrapping his legs around Jimin's waist. Jimin pulls back and cants his hips forward lovingly, setting a slow and tender pace that draws the most beautiful sounds Jimin's ever heard out of Hoseok. The elder pants underneath, his arms around Jimin's neck, stealing kisses from time to time as Jimin makes love to him.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, Hoseok starts to cry, fat tears sliding down his face as Jimin continues to move, thumbing away at the tears.
"Jiminie, I love you," Hoseok whispers underneath him, more tears clouding his vision and Hoseok blinks them away, wanting nothing to obscure the sight of his husband sweaty and panting above him. "I love you so much, Minnie. Wanna be with you forever."
Jimin leans down and captures the elder's mouth with his own, a hand working itself into Hoseok's hair as his pace slows. Jimin can feel his orgasm beginning to build up and from the way that Hoseok keeps clenching around him, he's sure the elder is already almost there too. Still, Hoseok is crying and whispering his love for Jimin so Jimin should give him something that equally matches that notion.
"Hobi-hyung," Jimin whispers, waiting until Hoseok meets his gaze and then Jimin can't help but fuck into the elder, his pace becoming brutal. "Love you too. Love you so much. With my everything."
Hoseok cries out and moves his hips to meet Jimin's thrusts and then they're kissing and it's all a messy mix of sweat, saliva and whispered "I love you"s between them.
Jimin feels his orgasm slam into him and he releases himself inside his husband at the same time that Hoseok clenches around him and comes on their stomachs, going limp once it's passed. Jimin catches his breath as his orgasm slowly ebbs away and stays inside the elder for a little while longer, just to enjoy the feeling before he slowly slips out and kisses Hoseok apologetically for the hiss he makes once Jimin does.
Hoseok cuddles into him after Jimin has cleaned them off with a wet towel from the hotel's bathroom and Jimin curls around him, a hand running down Hoseok's bare arm. The elder takes that hand with his own and intertwines their fingers, twisting and turning their joined hands until the light from the bedside lamp catches the glint of gold from their rings.
Jimin watches with avid fascination as Hoseok turns their hands again, catching the light once more. It didn't really strike Jimin before, but they're married.
They're actually married.
"Wow," Jimin murmurs into the quiet of their room.
And even though Jimin can't see it properly, he knows his husband is smiling when he says, "Wow indeed."

wrapped up in you
Tumblr media
pairing: jihope, side namgi and taejinkook  genre: fluff, xmas au, established relationship au, rated pg13  warnings: implied sexual content at the end  words: 654
summary: The holidays are just another excuse for Hoseok to blow all his money on the one person who really matters.
Tumblr media
“How much money have you spent on Jimin?”
Hoseok hums, swinging his shopping bags around him. “Not enough.”
“Dude,” Namjoon says, shoving Hoseok’s arm hard enough to push him into the wall. “You’re going to go bankrupt if you keep buying every little thing you think Jimin would like.”
“It’d be worth it,” Hoseok replies easily, grinning from ear to ear as he keeps on walking. “Besides, you can’t tell me anything considering how much you’ve spent on Yoongi-hyung.”
Namjoon scoffs, following after him with his own number of bags clenched tight in his hands. “Hyung is expensive. His wishlist is all audio equipment and beanies.”
“A tragedy,” Hoseok laughs.
“Shut up. I have definitely spent less than you in regards to Christmas presents anyway.”
Hoseok shrugs, grinning as he looks over his shoulder to pin Namjoon with his gaze. “Another tragedy.”
“You’re an asshole. Why are we friends again?” Namjoon asks, scowling as he swings one of his bags forward to hit Hoseok in the butt with.
“Because our boyfriends are those weird people who stay friends with their exes and dragged us out on a double-date only to assure us that things between them are completely platonic,” Hoseok replies immediately winding his arm backward to ram Namjoon with his bags as well. “Somehow, we hit it off from there.”
Namjoon side steps his attack and rolls his eyes. “I’m regretting our friendship already.”
Hoseok grins at him, smile bright enough to power entire continents. “Likewise!”
Namjoon only rolls his eyes again and Hoseok loses himself in shopping.
Tumblr media
Jimin tries peeking at his presents during the week leading up to Christmas and Hoseok finds that it’s endearing instead of annoying.
When Jeongguk tries doing the same thing to Seokjin and Taehyung, they lock him out of their apartment for the entire week and he has to crash on Hoseok and Jimin’s couch. Jimin laughs at him for it and Jeongguk pouts, whining the whole time about his hyungdeul being mean to him for no reason. Hoseok only shakes his head and makes Jeongguk’s favorites for dinner each night that he joins them to try and make him feel better.
It doesn’t work as well as it should because Jimin picks on him like there is no tomorrow, but Jeongguk thanks him sincerely when they are washing the dishes afterward each night so Hoseok counts it as a win.
Jeongguk leaves with relief on Christmas Eve and Hoseok sends him home with a fruitcake that he knows Jeongguk’s boyfriends hate just to get back at them.
Jimin is allowed to open only one present that night and Hoseok watches with delight as he cries over his gift. They’re tickets to a concert Jimin and Taehyung wanted to see in January but were unable to get before the concert sold out. Luckily, Hoseok had planned ahead and gotten help from Seokjin and Jeongguk to get the tickets they had previously refused to help their own boyfriends with. Hoseok had comforted Jimin about not being able to get tickets but quietly patted himself on the back as he did so, knowing that Jimin would love the present, even more, when Christmas came around.
Hoseok grins when Jimin pouts at him afterward and throws another gift at him, not bothering to fight the effect Jimin has on him.
Jimin grins and steadily begins opening all his presents, kissing Hoseok between each one and afterward tackling him on the couch before he kisses him long and hard. Hoseok cards his fingers through Jimin’s dark hair and sighs against his lips, relaxing in his boyfriend’s hold as Jimin works on stripping them of their clothes.
By the time the clock strikes midnight, their living room is a mess of forgotten wrapping paper and thrown clothes with Hoseok and Jimin sleeping on the couch curled up in each other’s warmth.
Definitely, a Christmas Hoseok won’t be forgetting any time soon.

hold my crown (hold my heart)
Tumblr media
pairing: jihope  genre: fluff, smut, arranged marriage au, royalty au, rated m  warnings: non-explicit sexual content  words: 490
summary: Prince Hoseok has an arranged marriage with Prince Jimin, but maybe it’s not so unpleasant and rather perfectly planned instead.
⇢ day two of jihope week 2017
Tumblr media
"I do."
Hoseok's voice rings loud and true in the vast hall and tall ceiling and the tiny, minuscule smile that Jimin wears is just the right level of polite that strangers wouldn't be confused by it. Their joined hands are a source of warmth for Hoseok and he clutches them tightly, afraid of when he'll be forced to let go.
The High Priest smiles down at them and pronounces them married. Hoseok has to forcibly stop himself from breaking into a celebratory dance as Jimin leans in and kisses him swiftly. This is a show and Hoseok and Jimin are the main protagonists. They need to play their roles perfectly or the whole gig will be up.
Neither Prince Hoseok nor Prince Jimin had planned to fall in love during all the balls and events they attended as children and adolescents, but one thing had led to another and Hoseok found himself pressed into the stable wall as Jimin kissed him silly. They both had obligations to their kingdoms however and when Hoseok saw Jimin's name on his list of potential suitors, he flew over the moon.
Of course, Jimin had to go through the extensive and strenuous process of courting Hoseok, but considering that most of the castle servants knew about the princes' love affair, Jimin had help all along the way. Hoseok had burst into tears of joy when Jimin had been proclaimed his future husband and had to endure his mother comforting him for being "forced into an unwanted marriage."
Hoseok is practically vibrating with excitement and happiness now, working overtime to act slightly unhappy about this whole ordeal. Jimin doesn't struggle as much as Hoseok with their pretending, but even Hoseok can tell that Jimin is close to losing his nerve and smiling outright at Hoseok.
They keep their hands clasped together as they walk down the aisle and avoid looking any person in the eye. Jimin is as close to Hoseok's side as is politely expected and it soothes the itch Hoseok has to yell to the world that despite it all, Hoseok got both his love for his kingdom and his Jimin handed to him at the same time.
They dance with the right amount of expected enthusiasm at the reception and cut the large cake, awkwardly shoving a piece into each other's faces. They try to make it appear as if they have a sense of camaraderie between them and Hoseok is sure it's working.
When they're finally allowed to escape to their shared chambers, Jimin works Hoseok open with exotic oils and kisses him how he's wanted to kiss him since he said: "I do."
They make love that night and many other nights as well and Hoseok can't help but whisper, "I love you."
Jimin whispers it back and kisses the elder soundly, leaving no room for further conversation as he bottoms out in Hoseok and rocks his hips forward.

⇢ day six of jihope week 2018
Tumblr media
Taking the pills had not really meant anything to Hoseok. He has taken what feels like a billion before so this shouldn't have been any different.
They were just a means to an end.
Hoseok doesn't actually know what he was thinking at that moment, but he'd done it. He had taken more than half of his usual dose of pills without considering the consequences or the responses this would receive if it all went south.
For the moment, he didn't really care. He just wanted to stop feeling, stop seeing Jimin's face every time he closed his eyes. He did not care if Seokjin wasn't constantly looking over his shoulder anymore, Hoseok was just too tired.
He's walking across the bridge now. His vision is going fuzzy and he's been holding back tears for a while now. Things are different ー harder than they used to be. The pills are making him sluggish, their delayed effect finally having caught up to him.
The floor is soon meeting his gaze and Hoseok collapses, body aching as he hits the cement. It feels like his body is shutting down, nothing wanting to cooperate anymore. He blinks, his brain slowly whirring to a stop and then he stills, inhaling a deep breath before he closes his eyes and lets the darkness take him.
Tumblr media
    He thinks he's dreaming.
There'd be no other explanation for him to be running through a forest with the others. They're laughing and messing around just like the good old days, but something's off about it all. They are going to meet Taehyung, Namjoon still worried about the call he got earlier.
The forest feels magical. The bright sunlight shifts through the tree branches above them and at one point, he and Jimin pause to pick up sticks, mocking a sword-fight between them. They laugh and drop them when the others disappear from view, running ahead to catch up.
Jimin's beside him and happy, laughing without a care in the world and it feels like Hoseok's heart is about to rip out of his chest. They reach the others and fall in beside them, only pausing when they find an abandoned, empty pool.
There is one single mattress at the bottom of the pool, Taehyung laid across it. Namjoon is the first one in, not wasting a moment to go to him.
Hoseok doesn't know what it is about their relationship, but he's always found the connection between Taehyung and Namjoon the purest out of all of them. Yoongi and Jeongguk fight more often than they get along, Seokjin being the only one who can pull them apart from each other. He and Jimin don't beat each other up, but they're not perfect either.
If Jimin knew about the pills, about all the reasons behind the scars, he'd leave him. Without a doubt, he would leave Hoseok.
Namjoon and Taehyung are the only ones who have a decent relationship, but it's never been romantic or even sexual between them. Hoseok recalls a night where Namjoon came to his apartment drunk and told him all about how he feels for the younger. How it's not physical or even bone-deep, but it's more. It's more and that's enough.
They follow Namjoon down into the pool though and Hoseok smiles when Seokjin joins them a while later, swooping in with a camera that Hoseok feels he should recognize.
It's a dream. It has to be.
Tumblr media
He fades in and out. Lights dazzle his eyes and his breaths are heavy, but the scent of cleaning products is even stronger.
Hoseok doesn't have to wake up to know that he's in a hospital.
Something is gripping his hand tight, wetness falling on his fist and lap. There's a weight on his thigh and it should worry him, it should, but he feels nothing.
The darkness returns and Hoseok goes willingly, hoping to dream a little more.
Tumblr media
They are at the beach now.
The sea is loud in his ears and the taste of salt water is heavy on his tongue. Seokjin keeps racing them, a large grin spread wide across his face and Hoseok can't remember a time where he saw the eldest look any happier.
Jimin's there too, sticking by the truck as he watches them play around like children. Hoseok can feel his eyes on him, but when he looks up, it's suddenly nighttime.
There is a paper bag in his hands, a familiar gas station surrounding him. The truck is being filled up with gasoline at the moment, the three youngest in the back. Hoseok feels a wind go by, the breeze raising goosebumps on his arms and he blinks to try and meld his surroundings together.
Things are changing when he doesn't look at them, but his focus is on the truck, on the top of Jimin's head that he can see peeking out of the back.
He walks forward on wobbly legs and deposits the paper bag in the backseat of the truck where Yoongi is getting himself comfortable. They don't exchange glances and no words are spoken between them, but there is something distant about the elder.
There is an itch in the back of his mind that he can't quite scratch. It's going to drive him insane with time, but for now, he looks towards the three youngest and frowns when he realizes that Jimin isn't covered up properly.
At the beach, it was hot, but it's chilly now and Hoseok doesn't want the younger to get sick. He fixes his blanket until it curls over his shoulders and presses a kiss to the crown of his head, smiling a little as he gets into the backseat of the truck.
Tumblr media
    He is better now.
That is the lie that he feeds to the doctors anyway. They believe him because he doesn't give them any other reasons not to.
They still recommend that he check himself into a mental hospital though and Hoseok thinks they're right, he should. He's still too shaky from the withdrawal symptoms and loud noises scare him more than usual, but the weight of his emotions is too much to handle. He wants to feel numb again.
Jimin visits him with bags under his eyes and news of their friends.
There still hasn't been any word from Taehyung and Namjoon is worried more than ever, but every time the police come around to his place, he pretends to not know anything they're telling him. No one has seen Yoongi in a while, but when Hoseok plugs in his phone he finds hundreds of unread messages from Yoongi waiting for him. Jeongguk is somewhere in the same hospital too, still confined to his wheelchair and unable to visit. Hoseok doesn't mind any of that, he doesn't want his friends to worry about him and he's glad only Jimin came to visit. Even if they're not together anymore, even if it hurts to have him this close and see all the pain he's inflicted upon him, he's glad he still has him.
They say nothing of Seokjin and Hoseok does his best not to remember why.
Tumblr media
Hoseok dreams of the beach again.
They are watching the horizon, all seven of them. The water is calm and the sun is just beginning to rise. Seagulls fly above them, squawking loud enough to startle Hoseok every time they do.
Everything seems fine. Seokjin is filming them once more, his camera pointed right at their faces while they calmly watch the sea.
And then Taehyung breaks away and climbs the metal contraption beside them, his skinny frame looking smaller than it actually is with the rising sun behind him.
There is a moment where they all hold their breath as Taehyung stands high above them. They yell and wave at him to come back down, to come back to them, but he only spares them a fleeting glance before he runs.
They all scream as Taehyung jumps off, falling into the depths of the sea.
This dream isn't fun anymore.
Tumblr media
On a night when Hoseok refuses to sleep yet again, Jimin comes into his hospital room disguised as another patient.
He wants to sneak Hoseok out. Wants them to run away and disappear together.
Hoseok agrees because he feels like he is going crazy in this room with only Jimin, the nurses, and the doctors to talk with occasionally. His dreams haunt him and it startles him to realize that he can't tell the difference between reality and dreams anymore.
They make it to the stairs, giggling like fools until a security guard catches them and Hoseok takes the blame, not understanding why the guard is looking at him funny. Jimin does not come by to see him anymore.
It isn't until later that Hoseok realizes Jimin was never really there.
Tumblr media
The needle jabbed into his wrist is just another means to the same end. Nurses are trying to remain calm above him as they wait for doctors to arrive, but his vision is already failing and Hoseok lets his eyes flutter shut without another thought.
Hoseok doesn't fight the darkness this time.
Tumblr media
A few of them are still standing, looking out towards the horizon.
He doesn't pause to study them, mind too hazy and thoughts too scattered for him to focus on anything. Things are fading in and out, but one thing remains true, Hoseok's head is pillowed on a firm thigh he'd be able to recognize anywhere. He looks up to find Jimin smiling down at him, hair the same shade of orange he had when Jeongguk had just become of age.
One look around shows Hoseok that Yoongi's hair is a startling mint green, Namjoon's is bubblegum pink, and Taehyung has green highlights in his bangs. Seokjin's hair is a dark brown and he sits down near Yoongi's knee, patting it for good measure as the others join them on the grass.
It's overcast above them and the grass is wet with dew, but none of them care enough to complain about it.
Hoseok feels like he's been here before. Like this is some distant memory of his, but he can't tell if it's real or not. For now, he doesn't care enough to figure it out.
Tumblr media
When he wakes up to the real world in the same hospital room as before, Jimin is nowhere to be found. Hoseok didn't expect him to return anyway.
Tumblr media
Jimin's hair is still orange when they run crazy all over town.
They party like there is no tomorrow and get drunk enough that they pass out in Seokjin's apartment most nights. Seokjin's the only one out all seven of them that holds a steady job and drives, but it does help that his rich parents still give him a monthly allowance. He buys their beer, Namjoon brings the weed, and Hoseok keeps his pills to himself.
Hoseok is the first one to grab a pillow and swings at Namjoon with it, laughing like a maniac as a baked Namjoon sputters, his retro glasses now lopsided. Jimin grabs another pillow and then they are all armed, feathers flying around like crazy.
Hoseok tries his best not to compare the feathers to an angel's wings deteriorating and fails spectacularly.
The feathers build up and all Hoseok sees is bare white until an image appears before him.
Seokjin is kneeling on the ground, a lighter in one hand and six flower petals before him. Hoseok reaches out to touch the broad line of his shoulders, but his fingers pass right through him like he's some kind of a mirage or something. Hoseok knows something awful is about to happen and he opens his mouth to warn the elder, but he is without a voice and can no longer move, now rooted to the spot.
Seokjin lights the petals on fire and Hoseok watches helplessly as he runs out of air.
Tumblr media
As soon as he's released, Hoseok checks himself into a mental hospital.
The days begin to pass slowly and the hours drag on, but he's finally numb again.
The facility is quiet, shabby too, but comfortable anyway. They don't give Hoseok any medication and he sits in on the group therapy sessions, but he doesn't open up.
He's numb again, just like he wanted.
It isn't until one morning when Hoseok blinks his bleary eyes open, he thinks he sees Jimin with orange hair standing in front of his bed only to blink once more a second later and find he has disappeared that Hoseok finally breaks down.
There's no more running away from his past now.
Taehyung murdering his father to protect his sister was only the beginning of it all. He ran off and is in hiding now, but Namjoon was destroyed over it. He gets high every day just to ignore the hole in his chest.
Yoongi and Jeongguk fought and no one was able to step in anymore. They broke up for good and Jeongguk went off into the night, picking another fight not too soon after that. It was as he was limping away back to Yoongi's that he got run over. He can't walk anymore and Yoongi blames himself for not going after him, for not stopping him, and being the more responsible one out of the two of them.
Jimin left Hoseok just like he knew he would and he's never coming back. Just like Seokjin.
He's never going to come back because Seokjin is dead.

“Hyung, get off. I need my legs,” Jimin mutters from above him, frowning.
Hoseok smiles at him instead, reaching out to pinch his cheek. “Not until you say please!”
Jimin rolls his eyes but doesn’t slap Hoseok’s hand away. He shifts his legs, hoping to shake off Hoseok to no avail. “Please get off, hyung. I have to get ready for the next event.”
“That’s better. What a cute dongsaeng,” Hoseok coos as he rolls off Jimin’s legs and onto the mat, spreading out like a starfish as he watches Jimin stand. “Make sure to get some bull’s eye for me, Jiminnie-yah. You and hyung have this in the bag!”
Hoseok grins as Jimin huffs in fake annoyance, matching grin rapidly spreading across his face as he begins to stretch. “Okay, hyung. Now go into the waiting room. Pretty sure they’ve been waiting for you to check-in for a while now.”
“They can wait a few more minutes, I’m enjoying the view,” Hoseok replies, ignoring the fact that he and Jimin aren’t alone at all and he probably shouldn’t be talking so loud, but with the cameras trained elsewhere, he feels secure about teasing Jimin like he usually does. “You really are like an Adonis, Jiminnie.”
Jimin rolls his eyes again, bending over to touch his toes before he stands up straight and twists from his waist, holding his arms out at his sides. “Very funny, hyung. You really should be going, Joonie-hyung is already heading this way.”
Hoseok looks up to find that Jimin’s right and pushes himself up, quickly standing upright as Namjoon approaches them. His expression is calm, but Hoseok tenses anyway, expecting a scolding as soon as they have a little privacy. Jimin snickers behind him, clamping a hand over his mouth when Hoseok looks over his shoulder to pin him with the stank eye, heart turning into goop like it does every time he catches a glimpse of Jimin’s clear happiness on his face.
He’s too soft for Jimin and sometimes, it’s dangerous to show just how soft he is, but most of the time Hoseok doesn’t even care. There more cameras than he can count in the building at the moment and he knows at least one of them is trained on them. All he wants to do is take Jimin’s hand and pepper his boyfriend’s face with kisses, uncaring of what the public will say.
Namjoon’s hand grips his shoulder and Hoseok sighs, smiling wide at Jimin when he meets his gaze again. “Good luck! I’ll be watching from the waiting room. You and hyung should meet up with us there afterward.”
Jimin nods, giving him a halfhearted wave goodbye as Hoseok turns to follow Namjoon silently, hunching his shoulders up as they pass other idols. A few wave at Hoseok and Namjoon and they wave back in return, not left with enough time to talk to anyone as they maneuver towards the waiting rooms only a few idols are allowed to enter.
Hoseok endures the scolding Namjoon gives him and the minorly judging looks the youngest two shoot at him with a smile, pretending to remain unbothered by it all. Namjoon sits him down in a chair and they watch the tv set up in the corner, waiting for Yoongi and Jimin to have their turn in the archery event. Seokjin was meant to join them as well, but he was sent back to the dorms when he started bleeding after another idol accidentally elbowed him in the face a little while ago. One of the few makeup noonas present descends upon Hoseok and gets to work on wiping his face clean of sweat and fixing up his hair, making sure sweat hasn’t brought out Hoseok’s usual wavy hair.
“The hyungs look nervous,” Jeongguk murmurs from his chair, water bottle held loosely in his hands. “It’s not like they’re the one who volunteered to bring in the sports equipment.”
“Aw, is Baby all sore from helping out?” Taehyung teases him, doing his best to imitate a child.
Jeongguk slaps his arm and hides behind Namjoon when Taehyung tries to retaliate, Namjoon sighing as he tries to calm them both done. Hoseok laughs at them, the makeup noona stepping back as she proclaims him finished and he focuses his attention back on the tv now that the archery event has begun.
Now Hoseok has to pretend like he isn’t mainly supporting Jimin right now. There are two cameras in here and they’re both probably for the Bomb that’ll be uploaded onto Youtube later and neither one can catch Hoseok giving Jimin heart eyes on the tv. Soon enough though, Yoongi and Jimin are up and Hoseok can’t help but laugh when Jimin misses terribly.
At least he’s laughing as well, clearly embarrassed. Hoseok watches the rest of the event, waiting until it’s finished before he prepares himself to greet Jimin and Yoongi when they enter the room. Namjoon’s watching him, eyes flickering towards the camera and Hoseok knows what Namjoon is telling him, knows what he shouldn’t do when Jimin walks through the door, but it’s hard when all he wants to is hold his arms open and let Jimin bulldoze his way into them for some comfort.
The door opens and first walks in Yoongi and then Jimin slowly after him. Hoseok immediately gets out of his seat, imitating Jimin’s pose when he readied himself to shoot off the arrows. Jimin laughs mockingly at him and then Hoseok cracks and begins laughing back, approaching Jimin, keeping the camera in the corner of his eye in mind as he does.
Hoseok wants to grip Jimin’s hands and kiss his forehead, but they’re idols and there are cameras present, so he keeps laughing instead, glad when Jimin laughs back.

upon the seashore, where the sea calls me home
Tumblr media
pairing: jihope  genre: fluff, angst, mermaid au, rated pg13  warnings: amnesia, transformation  words: 1845
summary: When Jimin returns back home for the summer, he finds that he left behind more than he thought he did.
⇢ day one of jihope week 2018
Tumblr media
It’s the first day of summer and Jimin aches to visit the beach.
He’s back from his first year of college, the fresh air of Busan welcoming him home with open arms as if he never even left.
Seoul is so much different. There’s always noise, people always on the go, and school is hard. As smart as Jimin is, as talented as he is, school took a lot out of him. He’s grateful he didn’t have to take summer classes because he gets to come back home.
He’s missed the beach. Seoul had been too dry for his tastes and now that he’s back where he belongs, he wants to dive right into the ocean and swim in it for a few hours. The saltwater would slap him awake from the daze school put him in, he’s sure of that, but instead, he finds himself at his father’s store, stocking inventory in the backroom.
His younger brother is at the cash register, ringing up customers while Jimin’s back here. Soon he’ll have to go out and restock shelves, but it’s cool and damp back here. The store is kept a few degrees cooler than the temperature outside, but Jimin’s still sweating buckets. He feels a little gross and his brother’s teasing doesn’t help.
At least Jimin doesn’t have to stay here as long as his brother does. Jimin gets off in the afternoon while his brother gets off in the night, only their father and uncle left to close up the store. Jimin looks at the clock and realizes he only has two hours left and throws himself into his work, not wanting his father to think he’s slacking off and keep him here longer than Jimin wants to stay.
It’s not that Jimin’s lazy or that he hates to work. He just really wants to see the ocean. He wants to watch the waves for awhile and listen to them crash against the shore. He wants sand underneath his feet and the waves lapping at his toes. Jimin wants to chuck off his shirt and shorts then throw himself into the cold saltwater.
Ever since Jimin was young, he’s had an unexplainable connection to the ocean. His grandmother used to tell him about mermaids stuck in human bodies, their memories erased and bodies rebooted so that they would never even know they were actually mermaids. She told him of sirens, of their voices and the insanity they struck within men. She told him of heartmates too, how mermaids are given shell necklaces at birth that are meant to represent their souls. When two mermaids meet and their necklaces fit together evenly, then they are pronounced heartmates and wed within the week. She’d given him a shell necklace not too long after that and always smiled whenever he asked her if he happened to have a heartmate like the mermaids as well.
Jimin’s grandmother isn’t with him anymore, but all her stories have stayed with him for a long time now. It’d be difficult for him to somehow forget anything she said. He’s always been fascinated with what the sea happens to have in its depths, what kind of life it may be hiding or protecting. He learned how to swim when he was about five and taught his brother when he was old enough, and together they used to haunt the cove on the north side of town, only becoming spooked when they found a cave hidden away from prying eyes.
They’ve never told anyone about the cave, not knowing at all if it’s common knowledge in their town, but they know there’s something strange about it.
Jimin’s never told anyone, but after he and his brother found the cave, something began to follow him.
It was never a threat, has never made Jimin feel unsafe at all, but it’s always lingering in the water. It kept itself out of sight and just barely out of mind. He felt like he was being watched every time he came to the beach, but it never scared him and more than once, Jimin was sure of the fact that he'd seen gold glimmering in the water. Jimin doesn’t know what it may be or if he’s just been imagining it his whole life, but when he left for Seoul, it didn’t follow him. He felt alone without it, too exposed and itchy half the time.
Now that he’s back, he intends to finally find out what it may be. He only hopes that it's still waiting for him after he's been gone for so long.
Tumblr media
The sea is singing.
The sun is still shining and the seagulls are loud above him, but the sea demands his attention and so Jimin’s attention is what it gets.
He’d just left the store, running all the way to the cove, glad to see that no one was present. He’d sat down on the sand and waited, kicking his shoes and peeling his socks off while he did.
The sea is still singing, overjoyed by his return, but it isn’t the reason he looks up from the sand he was playing with.
There’s a man in the water, hair as bright as coral. He floats where Jimin knows the water could very easily drown him if he didn’t know how to swim.
Jimin’s never seen him before, but he feels familiar. Not knowing him should be strange because Jimin knows almost everyone in town, but he could be new so he gives him the benefit of the doubt. There’s something about the man that makes Jimin want to swim out to meet him though, something he can’t quite put his finger on just yet. It’s important though, whatever it is.
He plays with his shell necklace as he watches the man, only a little startled to find that the man is already watching him. Maybe it should feel weird or creepy, but this feels familiar. It feels like Jimin should know who this man is.
They continue to stare at one another, waves moving of their own accord as the man continues to stay where he’s at. His hair shines in the sunlight, skin a warm honey bronze that Jimin thinks is beautiful. He doesn’t say anything though and the silence is beginning to feel weird to Jimin.
“Hello,” Jimin says, the first one to speak up as he smiles politely at the man. “My name’s Jimin.”
The man doesn’t say anything. He mouths Jimin’s name, brow furrowed, but says nothing. Jimin’s just decided that he’ll try again when the man dives into the water and disappears from sight. Jimin gets up onto his knees, concerned over how long the man can hold his breath and where exactly he expects to go when he’s completely surrounded by water.
Jimin stands and takes a step towards the ocean, almost falling back when the man pops up again, much closer now. Jimin has a better view of his face and his breath catches in his throat as he stares at the man, mesmerized by his beauty. His fingertips tingle, toes curling in the sand as the man swims closer, only pausing when Jimin gasps.
His mouth is heart-shaped, hair curling around his thin eyebrows. His cheeks are the slightest bit round and soft-looking, a curve to them that makes Jimin want to touch his face. The man’s eyes are the only indicator that he isn’t human though, pupils similar to those of a cat, and Jimin almost can’t believe how right his grandmother might have been now that he has something of the supernatural right in front of him.
The man swims closer until the water should be at his waist, but all Jimin can see is everything from his shoulders and up. Jimin tilts his head and clears his throat, deciding to ask a question.
“What’s your name?”
The man smiles at him, teeth glittering from the ocean and sunlight alike. “Hoseok.”
His voice is scratchy and rough, as if from misuse, but Jimin can’t be all too sure. All he can really be sure of is that Hoseok is slowly rising out of the water, bit by bit until he stops at his chest. Jimin’s eyes trail down the elegant slope of his neck and across his shoulders and clavicles, only stopping once he reaches his sternum.
There, nestled in the center of his chest, is a shell necklace similar to Jimin’s own. Jimin reaches up and touches his, mouth parted in surprise. He kicks off his shorts and lifts his shirt off over his head, walking slowly into the water until he’s only a few feet away from Hoseok.
Something is glittering from underneath him, catching the light underwater and creating sparks of light that catch Jimin's attention at every turn. He takes his shell necklace off and hands it out to Hoseok, relieved when he takes off his own necklace as well. Hoseok grabs Jimin’s hand, his touch ice-cold but not unpleasant either, and holds their necklaces up for them to see.
Very slowly, he pushes them together, the curled parts of the shells slotting together effortlessly.
Hoseok smiles and rises a bit more out of the water. Jimin looks down at his waist, expecting to find a V-line to drool over but discovers gold scales instead. Suddenly, memories begin flickering through his mind, making his heart twinge with pain as his legs begin to burn.
He and Hoseok as children, chasing seahorses and tiny crabs. Hoseok hugging him and pressing a kiss to his temple, their shell necklaces floating towards each other in the water. Hoseok taking his hand and vowing to love Jimin always in front of their friends. Jimin vowing to love him in return, to always hold him dear to his heart.
And then Hoseok and him fighting. Jimin wanting a break and approaching a sea witch. Jimin getting cursed. Jimin shrinking and having trouble breathing until he blacks out, feeling like his lungs are on fire. Jimin’s grandmother finding him as a human baby upon the shore and taking him home, giving him to his parents, and then keeping his shell necklace for safe-keeping until she gives it back to him, hoping it’ll help him get back home ー get back to Hoseok.
It isn’t until the tip of Hoseok’s tail flicks across Jimin’s new tail that he realizes his grandmother was telling him tales of his people instead of just silly fairy tales as he always thought.
He can’t believe it took him this long to find Hoseok again.
“I’m sorry,” Jimin murmurs, tears stinging his eyes, blinking them away so his view of Hoseok will remain unobstructed.
But Hoseok only smiles and swims closer, putting Jimin’s necklace back over his head. “It’s okay. I missed you.”
Jimin sniffles, his saltwater joining that of the sea. “I missed you too.”
Hoseok cups his face, and presses their foreheads together, cooing to Jimin as he continues to cry, something he didn’t know was missing inside of him sliding into place.
Jimin's home.

Step One: Admit Your Feelings
"Do you think he even knows if I exist?" Jimin asks, splayed out across Taehyung's bed as the younger scowls at his desktop, for once not wearing his headphones.
Taehyung doesn't bother looking up from the screen, too focused on blasting the enemy team away from the payload. "Who?"
Jimin sighs as he shifts onto his stomach and gives Taehyung a pained look. "Hobi."
When Taehyung doesn't answer right away, Jimin sighs again and turns on his back, staring up at the ceiling of Taehyung and Namjoon's room. He can hear the sounds coming from Taehyung's computer, the gunshots, the character's voices and the loud footsteps of Taehyung's enemies, but he ignores all of that to study the ceiling instead, picking out designs with his eyes alone.
It isn't until Taehyung's team has won the game that he hears Taehyung turn in his chair to face Jimin. "You're asking me if Hoseok, the man who shares a room with you, knows if you exist?"
Jimin keeps his gaze on Taehyung's ceiling. "Yes."
Taehyung sighs and shakes his head, lurching out of his chair to join Jimin on the bed. "Jiminnie, what's this about?"
Jimin turns until his face is pressed into Taehyung's chest, curling up into his best friend's embrace. "I think I'm in love with Hoseok."
Taehyung sighs and pets his hair, briefly rolling away when he remembers about his game. "Hold on. Gimme a sec to exit out, Jiminnie."
Jimin nods, replacing Taehyung with a pillow instead as the taller boy approaches his computer then returns back to lay down beside Jimin within less than a minute. When he does, Jimin looks over the pillow to meet the probing gaze Taehyung is directing at him.
"So, you've finally admitted to yourself what we've all known for years then?" Taehyung asks.
Jimin blanches. "What?"
Taehyung stretches his arms above his head, sighing when something cracks. "Jiminnie. We all know that you've been in love with Hobi ever since you met him."
"But...I just..." Jimin trails off, biting his lip as he takes in this new information. "I just figured it out recently. How could you all have known?"
And then very quietly, "Does Hobi know?"
"Nope. Not as far as I know. Anyway, he wouldn't have told me if he did," Taehyung replies, throwing an arm over Jimin's waist as he settles into the bed again. "But we all know how you feel about him. It was really obvious from the get-go."
"Why didn't you say anything then?"
Taehyung laughs, the sound of it somehow comforting to Jimin as he curls into Taehyung's embrace again, abandoning the pillow. "It wasn't any of my business what you feel for him, Jiminnie. Namjoonie told me whatever happens between you two has to be dealt between yourselves. We weren't allowed to interfere unless you guys did something on camera."
Jimin pales, his stomach rolling with Taehyung's words. "Namjoon said that? To all of you? Really?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, why do you think Jeonggukkie's been putting himself between you two lately?" Taehyung asks, big brown eyes pinning Jimin with his curious gaze. "Minnie. All this time and you really didn't know?"
Jimin shrugs, not meeting Taehyung's gaze. "I've been busy with other things. I mean, I didn't realize I was in love with him until, like, last week, Tae. How could I have noticed the rest?"
Taehyung clicks his tongue and pulls Jimin a little closer, sensing that his best friend is stressed. "Well, you know now. What are you going to do about it?"
"I don't know."
"Do you want to date him?" Taehyung asks after a moment of silence has passed.
Jimin shifts beside him, his face feeling warm. "Yeah."
Taehyung nods, a grin spreading across his face when he asks his next question. "Do you want to bone Hoseok?"
Jimin buries his face in Taehyung's sheets, the back of his neck and tips of his ears red. He nods, his reply muffled, and Taehyung laughs while he prods at Jimin's side to get the older man to turn over.
"Can't understand you like that, Minnie," Taehyung teases, still poking at Jimin's side. "Now. Do you or do you not want to have sex with Hobi?"
"...yes," Jimin murmurs, his face blazing. "But he doesn't see me like that. I'm just a cute dongsaeng to him."
"Because you are a cute dongsaeng. But still, it's good you admitted your feelings," Taehyung says with a nod, smiling too warmly for Jimin to think he's teasing him. "That's the first step."
"First step of what?"
"Getting into Hoseok's pants," Taehyung replies cheerily, laughing when Jimin blushes again, pressing his palms to his eyes to block out the image of the younger man beside him.
"Oh my god," Jimin groans, the parts of his face that Taehyung can still see a darker red than before. "I'm never going to hear about the end of this now."
"Do you want to hear my brilliant plan or not?" Taehyung asks, still smiling as he rolls over Jimin to get to his pillows, wrapping his arms around one as soon as it's within his reach. "It's foolproof, you know?"
Jimin doesn't say anything for a while and Taehyung thinks that he might just up and leave the room too, but Jimin stays rooted to the spot, biting down on his lip as he scoots closer to Taehyung. "What's your plan?"
Taehyung grins, a little smug as he watches Jimin inch closer to hear his brilliant plan that has zero chances of failing.
After all, Taehyung had used the same plan on Yoongi.
Step Two: Find Out What He Likes
Jimin eyes his phone like his life depends on it, thumb hovering over the screen.
He's had Kakao open to the same chat room for what feels like an hour now, debating what to type, how to start the conversation that's been burning in the back of his head for a while now.
Hoseok's display name taunts Jimin with each passing minute. He's quickly losing resolve and he still has no clue how to begin.
Jimin sighs and falls back into bed, feeling a little lonely without Hoseok being there, but the elder is at his parents place in Gwangju, having felt the need to visit as soon as Bang PD-nim gave them a short holiday in place of Chuseok, when they'd be in the States, too busy and too far to come home. He stares up at the ceiling, debating and thinking until, finally, he decides to go with the first idea he'd had.
jimin: hobi-hyung, wanna play a game?
Jimin already regrets sending the message but he can't stop himself from watching his screen, letting out a tense breath when the little one by his message quickly disappears. He waits as patiently as he can force himself to be as Hoseok types out a reply, the message appearing almost instantly.
hopie: sure. what game? :3
Despite Jimin knowing what he's about to do, he smiles down at the emoticon. It's one of Hoseok's favorites and he tends to always use it at the end of his texts when he messages Jimin. Jimin's heart swells up in his chest, climbing up into his throat with enough force to knock Jimin breathless. He gulps it down, focusing on what he's about to do, breathing through his nose to calm his breath.
jimin: a game where we share what we'd like to try
Jimin waits until the one has disappeared again before he sends his next message, sweat accumulating on his brow.
jimin: in bed
Hoseok's message takes a while to get to Jimin, long enough after the one has disappeared again that Jimin decides this is a bad idea and he should drop it now while he's ahead. His hands are shaking and he knows that he's sweating profusely now, but he continues to watch his screen, gasping when Hoseok's message finally pops up.
hopie: ...sure, how do we play?
It takes Jimin a second to realize that the elder has agreed before his thumbs are flying across the screen, his keyboard suddenly feeling a million times smaller as he tries to type out the rules as fast as he can.
jimin: we take turns saying something sex-related and then answer with: kink, like it, would like to try, have tried and don't like it, or hard-pass
hopie: wouldn't it be easier to use emojis or numbers instead? like 5 could be kink, 4 - like it, 3 - would like to try, 2 - have tried and don't like it, 1 - hard pass
jimin: sure, that sounds easier. do you want to go first?
Now is the elder's chance to back out and Jimin's almost sure of the fact that Hoseok will because Jimin's game is so out of the blue and Hoseok is probably busy having a good time with his family andー
hopie: ok! um...blow job! :3
Jimin almost cries in relief, he can't believe Hoseok is playing along with him.
jimin: 4
hopie: 3
jimin: wait, you've never given anyone a blow job before?
hopie: don't tease! i'm your hyung! but no, i haven't. been too busy, remember?
jimin: oh...right
hopie: your turn!
Jimin bites his lip. What the hell is he supposed to ask about? Hoseok had started with something basic so maybe he should too.
Keep it simple.
jimin: hand job!
hopie: 4
jimin: 4
hopie: my turn again :3 mm...let's get more nitty, gritty. handcuffs!
jimin: 4 when i use them on someone, 1 if they're used on me
hobie: we're the opposite lol 1 if i use them on someone, 4 when they're used on me :3
Jimin almost smiles. He bites his lip to keep the smile from spreading, but then he realizes that he's alone anyway so he lets the smile bloom across his face as he and Hoseok keep up their back-and-forth game of finding out about each other's likes and dislikes.
Maybe Taehyung's plan is foolproof after all.
Step Three: Show Him You Can Take Care of Him
Jimin's been a sweating mess the entire afternoon. Hoseok has asked him a number of times if he's okay, but Jimin had swatted his worries away and smiled, doing his best to make it seem like he wasn't screaming on the inside.
Now, they sit at a cafe, coffee on the table in front of them.
Hoseok is talking about how nice it was to see his parents, but all the while, Jimin's focusing on the fact that he never once called it home.
Hoseok talking about his parents, makes Jimin miss his own. But that doesn't override the nerves he's feeling from being at this cafe with the man he's crushing on, all by themselves.
Jimin sips from his coffee, nodding along to what Hoseok's saying, but not meeting his gaze anymore.
He feels a little sad now the more he thinks about the last time he visited his parents.
"Jiminnie. Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Hoseok's voice breaks through Jimin's thoughts.
Jimin startles, blushing as he finally meets the elder's gaze, stuttering out, "W-What are you talking about?"
Hoseok gives him an unamused smile, his teeth gleaming from the fluorescent lighting above them. "You've been moping this entire time. Did something happen with you and your parents?"
Jimin shakes his head, blush darkening on his face. "No. I just..."
"You just?" Hoseok prompts, leaning over the table to crowd into Jimin's space, forcing the younger to answer him. "Come on, Jiminnie. You know you can tell me anything."
"I know I can!" Jimin hastens to answer, flinching when he realizes how loud he was. "Sorry. I just don't want to put a damper on things. We were having a nice time and I don't want to ruin that with my bad mood."
Hoseok smiles and takes Jimin's hand, interlacing their fingers together atop the tabletop. "Jiminnie, if you're in a bad mood, just tell me what's causing it so that I can make you happy again."
Now Jimin knows that the flush he's sporting is working its way down his neck and onto his chest because he feels warm and tingly all over and why can't Hoseok understand that he can't just say things like that without running the risk of making Jimin spontaneously combust? Jimin sighs and tries for a smile, gripping on tight to Hoseok's hand.
"I miss my parents is all. Sometimes when I think about them, I don't think of my bedroom there as home anymore. Home is here and I don't know, I guess I'm just a little sad for finally having grown up," Jimin murmurs, eyes downcast again.
Hoseok puts his other hand on top of their joined ones, his palm soft and warm, and Jimin looks up to meet his gaze. "It's okay to grow up, Minnie. It's a part of life and I know your parents wouldn't blame you for not thinking of their place as home anymore. If you'd like, you could come with me to visit my parents next time I go."
"Yeah, I'd like that," Jimin says with a nod, feeling lighter now. "Thank you, Hobi-hyung."
The smile Hoseok gives him in response could very well outshine the sun. "Anything for you, Jiminnie."
Jimin smiles back, even while knowing that he completely failed step three of Taehyung's plan. At least he's well on his way to fulfilling step four though.
   Step Four: Meet the Parents
Hoseok's parents are as warm and inviting as Hoseok is and Jimin completely understands where the elder gets it from now.
Mrs. Jung welcomes Jimin with a tight hug, holding him pressed against her chest and Jimin feels the inexplicable urge to cry because it's been too long since a mother held him. Mr. Jung also hugs Jimin, taking him completely by surprise when he'd gone for a handshake himself, but it turns out alright and Hoseok's father even pats his back before letting him go, a warm smile on his face as he does.
Hoseok throws an arm around both of his parents' neck, crying a little as they all hug. Jimin politely averts his eyes.
"Mom, Dad. I'd like you to meet Jimin. He's my favorite dongsaeng," Hoseok says once his parents have ushered them into the living room, cups of coffee on the table to greet them.
Jimin tries to not let on how his mood instantly wilts when Hoseok says that, so he smiles and waves instead, not really understanding why Hoseok waited until now to introduce him properly.
Hoseok's parents exchange looks and a knowing smile, pinching Hoseok's cheeks before saying simultaneously, "So, we have a new son."
Jimin does his best not to let his smile slip, no matter how creepy that might have been and laughs when Hoseok fails to get out of his parent's grip.
"Well, yeah. Sure, you could say that, I guess," Hoseok replies, resolved to let himself be pinched to death by his parents. "Jiminnie's like my broー"
"Son-in-law, great!" Hoseok's mother says then, cutting off whatever Hoseok was going to say.
"Then you won't mind sharing your bed then, Hobi. The guest room is being cleaned out right now so we can't offer it to Jimin until two days from now," Hoseok's father adds on, smiling kindly at Jimin with a knowing glint in his eye.
Jimin pales. They can't possibly know that he's head over heels in love with their son. Right?
Not right, Jimin thinks to himself as Hoseok's mother turns to smile at him too, the same knowing glint in her eyes.
Is he that obvious that even Hoseok's parents can instantly tell how far gone he is over Hoseok?
Jimin smiles back anyway. "I don't mind sharing. As long as Hobi-hyung doesn't either."
Hoseok shrugs. Sharing a bed isn't something new to either of them. When Jimin has nightmares, he usually finds himself in Hoseok's bed by morning anyway. But ever since figuring out how he really feels for the elder, sharing a bed has felt both awkward and exhilarating at the same time. Still, Jimin can share the same bed as his hyung. It's no problem.
Really.
"I don't mind either. It's not like it's the first time anyway," Hoseok says nonchalantly, focusing on the coffee on the table as his parents exchange glances and nod.
"It's settled then," Hoseok's father begins.
"You'll be sharing the bed," Hoseok's mother ends for him.
Maybe Jimin should be a little freaked out how in tune Hoseok's parents are, but all he can really focus on is the fact that he's going to be sharing a bed with the elder.
Hoseok smiles at him as he sits down beside him on the couch, wordlessly pushing a cup of coffee in Jimin's direction. Jimin smiles back, a variety of emotions racing through his veins when Hoseok meets his gaze, doing his best to not let any of them show. Hoseok's parents sit on the two armchairs, smiling at their sons.
Jimin mentally crosses step four off his list as he sweats over step five.
   Step Five: Seduce Him
All day Jimin has been restless.
It's day two of his stay at Hoseok's parents and Hoseok has been nothing but beautiful and tempting.
The day before Hoseok had shown him around town, even showing Jimin the corner where he used to busk. Jimin had followed him dutifully, smiling as he immersed himself in Hoseok's hometown of Gwangju. Little by little, Hoseok's jeolla had begun to crop up the longer they stayed here and Jimin would be lying if he didn't find it a little hot.
Today they'd visited the old dance studio Hoseok used to practice at and then they'd danced together.
Not like the dances they're used to doing for performances, but the fun ones. The ones they used to do for fun back when they were trainees and newbie idols.
It's still as fun as Jimin remembers. Hoseok's smile had never left his face, even when he kept eye contact with Jimin throughout it all, their smiles had never faltered. Even with his own feelings, Jimin's glad that they can still have fun like they used to.
Once they'd collapsed on the studio's floor to take a break, it'd taken all of Jimin's willpower not to jump Hoseok's bones right then and there.
Watching the elder pant as he lay on the floor, sweaty and eyes closed was enough to drive Jimin mad. Completely and absolutely mad.
Jimin knows that he isn't going to make it through the rest of this trip. Even as he waits for the elder to get out of the shower and join Jimin in bed, he knows he won't make it. Hoseok and his unknowing beauty are going to kill before long.
Because Hoseok is beautiful. Not in an idol way though. Hoseok is beautiful in his own way. He's happier, more carefree as if he isn't J-Hope, member of BTS, but as if he's Jung Hoseok, Gwangju born and raised. Being in Hoseok's hometown has made the elder brighter, something in him being switched on as they walked his childhood streets together. Hoseok had even held his hand, uncaring of the stares they received from older people, and Jimin's heart had melted in goop.
He is so done for.
Hoseok enters the room then, towel over his head letting Jimin stare at his bare chest unabashed. The towel soon disappears when the elder hangs it on the hook behind his door, running a hand through his hair as he turns towards the bed and smiles at Jimin.
"Ready to sleep, Minnie?" Hoseok asks, his voice softer than Jimin's ever heard it before.
Jimin nods, not knowing what else to say and Hoseok climbs into bed beside him, making Jimin scoot over until his back is pressed against the wall. Hoseok's only in boxers as he nestles into the sheets on his side of the bed, even scooting forward a little so that he's touching Jimin's arm. Jimin knows what he wants, Hoseok likes it when his arms are stroked as he sleeps, it's a habit his mother had instilled in him since birth and Jimin is helpless to Hoseok's wants as he reaches out and rests his palm on Hoseok's elbow, the elder's skin soft and warm underneath his touch.
Hoseok hums appreciatively, curling even further into Jimin's embrace until they're pressed chest-to-chest, their legs tangled together. Jimin's heartbeat thumps erratically in his ears and he only hopes that the elder can't hear it.
Jimin's hand is beginning to move now, fingertips trailing up from Hoseok's elbow to his shoulder, pausing when Hoseok sighs with the movement, something peaceful hidden in the sound. Jimin stares at him, he's been staring all day really, but this staring is a little more special.
Jimin knows that if Hoseok were to open his eyes right now, he'd see right through Jimin and figure everything out. Everything would be blown. The love Jimin harbors for Hoseok is clear in his eyes and even Hoseok wouldn't be able to miss it.
It's just that when Hoseok does open his eyes, Jimin can't force himself to look away. Not because he's tired of hiding his feelings, but because Hoseok is staring back at him in the same way.
Hoseok loves him.
"Hyung," Jimin whispers, a little in awe.
Hoseok smiles at him. "I've spent years convincing myself that you can't be anything else more than my dongsaeng. Every day, you prove how much you've really grown ever since we first met. You're not the cute little kid I crushed on back in our trainee days. You're Park Jimin, the guy I've been helplessly in love with since the first moment."
Jimin watches him as he mulls over his next words, the elder's eyes never leaving his, the look in them never diminishing. He doesn't know if he's breathing right now, but honestly, fuck breathing. Whatever Hoseok is about to say is a thousand times more important than breathing.
"I'm really tired of lying to myself, Jiminnie," Hoseok breathes out in the air between them. "I love you."
Jimin's heart clenches, beating furiously in his chest and he moves in, pressing himself flat against the elder, holding Hoseok closer. "I love you too, hyung."
Hoseok shifts against him then, eyes pinching together when a tiny moan escapes his mouth as the angle suddenly becomes sinful. "Oh, fuck."
Jimin only smiles, rolling his hips up into the elder's. "I love you," he repeats because, after all these years, Jimin has a lot of time he should make up for.
Hoseok's eyes shine in the darkness of his childhood bedroom and he moves in, closing in on Jimin until their lips are a hairsbreadth apart. "I guess I can finally give that blow job I've been meaning to give."
Jimin giggles, feeling weightless as he rests his forehead against the elder's. "Yeah, I guess you can. I love you."
"I love you more," Hoseok murmurs and before Jimin can argue, soft lips are being pressed against his own and he becomes lost in Jung Hoseok.
   Bonus Step Six: Date Him
Jimin returns back to the dorms as a new man.
Hoseok held his hand the entire way home, and when they unlock the front door to find Jeongguk sprawled across Namjoon and Seokjin's laps on the couch, a lot of other things are thrown into perspective for Jimin as well. Hoseok giggles as the three on the couch jump guiltily until Jimin waves a hand and tells them they don't mind. Seokjin smiles at them and rises from the couch anyway, pushing the couple into the kitchen where he can fill them with food.
Hoseok takes Jimin's hand as they sit at the counter, waiting patiently for Seokjin to finish and when the elder hands them their food, he raises his brows at their hands, but says nothing, deciding to return to the living room where Jeongguk is whining for the eldest to come back. Seokjin rolls his eyes, pats their hands, and walks out of the kitchen, leaving them alone again.
"You know, it's good to be home," Hoseok says as he lifts his chopsticks with his free hand.
Jimin smiles and leans into his side, pressing a kiss to his boyfriend's jaw. "Definitely good to be home."
Hoseok smiles back and Jimin is so far gone for this boy.
Taehyung's plan had actually worked and he squeals loudly when Jimin tells him the news.
