Evan BIO

Evan died full of fear and trauma at the hands of Michael and his friends, Fredbear being his literal coffin and cage. When he died, the mass of animosity and pure hate he felt towards Michael and his friends gained sentience and possessed Fredbear. It stalked the nightguards, various techs, and other adults, killing them after hours. The negative mass believed itself to be Evan, from appearance to inverted personality, it doesn't feel a shred of guilt or regret for the bodies it amassed under its belt every year. After meeting Cassidy, Charlie, and the other souls, it gained a reason behind the senseless death it caused; conveniently killing under the banner of vengeance on their killer gave it allies to manipulate in its own revenge quest.

Shadow Freddy was created as a backup body after Cassidy's lust for vengeance drove her to madness, Shadow Evan ran away after his manipulations were revealed to Cassidy during brainstorming various torture methods to use on William. Betrayal caused her to lash out and banish him from the suit; using the stores of remnant he gathered from locking adults in the Fredbear suit, he created Shadow Freddy as his way of traversing Hurricane without being seen. He came across Michael at the age of 20, deciding to use his ability to induce nightmares, Shadow Evan sought to terrorize Michael into insanity before devouring his soul and stealing his body. Unfortunately, he crashed into a major obstacle to his plan, Paulbear.

While the negativity Evan felt was transferred into Golden Freddy, Evan's soul was left detached from his comatose body, allowing him to watch everything that occurred after his hospitalization. He watched their father beat up and verbally bash Michael every day, followed Michael to the hospital room of his body, saw his father's crash into insanity, watched his brother be sent away for his safety by their mother, and the murder of his mother when she discovered the hidden features of the Funtimes. He spied on his father, who was constantly speaking to his slumbering body through his stuffed Freddy doll, even flipping the switch on the disks, revealing his nightmares to be nothing more than hallucinations covering the stuffed dolls in his room.

Evan became Paulbear after witnessing William murder children in his quest for immortality; as Paulbear, he was able to dream walk through the nightmares of people, adult and child. He soothed their fears into solutions, assisted the unrest souls by communicating to their parents, and ensuring none of the possessed animatronics escaped any of the Fredbear locations. He had the displeasure of meeting an insane Cassidy when Michael went to shutdown Fredbear Jr. location; it was difficult to convince Cassidy to let him deal with the matter of Shadow Evan. Even if it ended with Michael severing her connection to the Jr. animatronics, he had already bested her before she countered his influence. However, this changed nothing for how he felt towards her crimes, her hands were coated in the blood of innocent people like the others.

His first and last encounter with his Shadow was the harshest; when Michael was 20, preparing to move away from Hurricane for his education and mental health. He was patrolling Michael's apartment when he felt a dark presence in Michael's bedroom, he appeared to confront whom he believed to be Locktrap trying to finish off Michael. Coming face to face with his darkest of desires spurred Evan to take the conflict outside the home, upon landing on the building rooftop, the two went for the other's throat. The fight was brutal and barbaric, with Evan quickly putting down his Shadow without mercy. His Shadow was henceforth cast down to hell for his transgressions against the innocent, despite being the same person, Shadow Evan had proven to be independent of Evan and no spiritual connection to the pale demi-soul was found by the acolytes of Death, thus the decision by the Judges of Purgatory.

He had reunited with his mother by pure accident, being attached to Michael allowed him to follow him to where he moved for college. He was there when Michael began dating Vanessa, shortly after moving into his dorm. Paulbear would continue to encourage Michael to open up to Vanessa, always smiling when Michael visited his grave, happy to hear how his life has progressed. Evan finally felt like he could rest peacefully when Ness began accompanying Michael to the cemetery. Evan hadn't felt lighter in years, only panicking when Michael nearly died at the Afton Storage. The visage of their mother's soul pulling a fatally injured Michael to his car causing him to go into overprotective mode. He stayed his hand when it was clear that their mother was trying to preserve Michael's life until help arrived. Both vanished into the night after Ness and the paramedics arrived on the scene.

Five years after the incident, Evan stayed close to Michael during his recovery, he cared for their home while Vanessa was gone, keeping William from finding their whereabouts while their mother watched over Vanessa. Evan had dropped his alter-ego and revealed himself to Michael, leading to a tearful reunion for the two. Unfortunately, Evan took up his alter-ego again when Henry returned from his short stint at the Mental hospital; Evan had never understood Henry's obsession with ensuring William died in flames. Evan cared little for Henry and William's blood feud, willing to let the two madmen tear into each other without a care, until Henry decided that Michael would be the treat to drag William out of hiding. He stepped up his protection of the couple when it became clear that they were expecting a little one in their life. His anger turned to rage when Henry refused to leave Michael in peace, coming to blows with Charlie when he attempted to murder Henry after the old man broke into Michael's home, brandishing a gun at Ness threatening to take away his joy if Michael refused to cooperate with him.

Evan had proven himself a greater force than Cassidy and his Shadow as his presence overpowered Charlie's, keeping her from doing anything more severe than helping her father break into Michael's home. He vanished once Henry was removed from the premises by the police. He decided that if Henry was so desperate that he'd threaten to kill Michael's happiness, then Paulbear would give Henry all the power he desired, with the consequences to go with it. Springlocking Henry into the Stitchwraith animatronic, Evan trapped both Henry's soul and flesh into the monstrosity before turning it loose onto William's trail.

Evan would continue to watch over the Schmidt family until the night of the fire at Henry's Labyrinth, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. He went to rest after entrusting William and Henry to Cassidy's authority, to do with as she wished, putting William through a hell of unspeakable horrors and tortures worse than what he had done to the dead children. Content to fade into the afterlife with his mother, they would be pulled into a dark chess game as they seek to rescue their loved ones from the Cult of Glitch and the Return of Stitchwraith.
