All the 2023 contestants were born in 2007 and grew up with the show being off the air, so they were all 100% in the trenches of ship drama in the td fandom defending their ships. Here's my 100% correct do not @ me headcanons for each characters favourite ship.

Priya: Zoke, she was put on some block lists because she said she shipped all of Mike's alters with Zoey and no one else. Her parent's grounded her and made her watch Vito x Anne Marie edits as a punishment.

Bowie: If Gwourtney has a million fans, he's one of them. If Gwourtney has five fans, he's one of them. If Gwourtney has one fan, he's that fan. If the world is against Gwourtney he is against the world.

Millie: Thinks it's incredibly problematic and childish to ship real people. But Bawn.

Julia: Got her first taste of internet fame by claiming Blainely and Chris were in a secret relationship. When this comes out this will cancel her worse than the dinosaur thing and she will be forced to go into hiding for her own protection.

Emma: Wrote poly drama brother buys you from your parents fics. Chase read these out on a live stream and they stayed together.

Chase: Not a shipper but was defending Duncan with his last breath over the love triangle stuff.

Zee: Zee hasn't actually seen the show he thought he was auditioning for 6teen, in which he ships Judesy.

Ripper: I don't know whats telling me this but Leonard and Beardo. I think he saw a photoshopped image of them together with red arrows and he's currently convinced they're in a relationship.

Wayne & Raj: Lyler is unironically relationship goals for them, they celebrate their anniversary every year

MK: Commented under Noco posts "Uhm, what about Nemma?" and then watched the world light on fire. Ships Nowen.

Scary Girl: She unironically thinks Sierra is really normal but doesn't ship her with Cody because she just doesn't like him, thinks he fumbled her. Ships Heatherra, Bowie sent her death threats over this and she sent them back

Nichelle: Runs in the same circles as Chris, saw Chris and Chef together all the time despite Total Drama not being on, just assumed they were partners.

Axel: Shasmine anti, thinks Jasmine is gaslighting Shawn about the zombie stuff, wrote a long angry reddit post about it and got banned from the total drama subreddit.

Caleb: Gwent, also got death threats from Bowie and tried to @ Gwen and Trent to come to his defense.

Have to ask, how do you come up with such amazing fan VP designs? I'm aware of the animals you use but the shapes, colors, and details for them! Just, wow!

It's a result of vigorous study of the existing piñatas from VP and trying to make things in the same design spirit, i blame obsessing over the franchise as a kid and having it ingrained in my mind ever since. It's influenced my designs overall, even when not making piñatas, patterns and wacky shapes is my bread and butter :V

Though the process itself feels rather straightforward to me since i do it so often it's not really that different than when making other designs. Start with throwing scribbles around until ya find something that fits just right and continue from there.

Shapewise i tend to start with focusing on one particular shape that i think would be funny and or embodies the essence of the animal in question, piñatas have no bones and as such can be literally any shape you can think of. Let's use the Pandhaw i have been working on recently as an example:

When i think "panda" my first instinct is a rounded shape, after all real life pandas are pretty rounded and compact. However i didn't feel the oval / egg shape was that unique, it felt very obvious, so i messed around with potential other shapes. And thus ended up with the rounded wedge shape, moving the legs to the front rather than below just to make the shape stand out further. A lot of the process goes into pushing the general shapes in different directions, just to get something that looks interesting and quirky.

The colors and patterns are harder to describe how i come up with them, as i just sorta pick colors i think would look nice together based on color theory. I don't limit myself to the colors of the animal itself because that'd be boring and not piñata like, since they do not have realistic colors - like have you seen a rainbow colored hedgehog? Don't think so. With the Pandhaw i had a focus on green and purple since the very beginning, because that felt like a fun and odd color combo that isn't directly "panda" but can be used to still convey the iconic panda markings. If an animal doesn't have a striking pattern or markings as is then i just mess around with different shapes to make interesting patterns.

It's also fun to keep in mind the general vibe / personality of the piñata, it helps with picking shapes, colors and patterns. The Pandhaw is a goofy and bumbling critter, thus making it look silly was important to me. If that makes sense :V

I'm not the best at describing my design process, but hopefully this gave some additional insights :3

I'm curious about Munchy, specifically about the people that get Piñata-ified after going through them.

Does being a piñata have any specific benefits/downsides? And could they turn other people into piñatas like Munchy does after they're transformed?

Benefits: You're practically immortal now (just make sure to avoid fire and being smashed open), you only need candy to live happily, colorfulness increased by 200%, etc etc

Downsides: If Munchy eats you again you're done for (theoretically)

My brain is always on td23 cast and about the in universe Total Drama fandom, please have all their favourite contestants

Priya: I. I don't think Priya likes Total Drama if I'm being honest, I think she just feels that all of the contestants are just sort of bad people. If anyone, probably Jasmine? Mainly because she didn't have to watch her for too long.

Bowie: COURTNEY, OBVIOUSLY. He will defend her until the end, he has suibaited for her, he has doxxed for her, he has retweeted fan cams. He went as her for Halloween 2 years in a row.

Millie: Her entire "My generation is bad!" outlook is Zoey's fault.

Julia: She watched Dakota and took NOTHING AWAY FROM WHAT HAPPENED, she calls her a 2000s IT Girl (Even though ROTI came out in 2012) and uses her in her photo dumps as an aesthetic.

Emma: Cody, she was in the trenches defending all of his actions. She's still talking about Coderra in 2023.

Chase: Bro thinks he's Alejandro 💀 He 100% has inspirational alpha male quotes with Alejandro's picture as the background.

Zee: He hasn't seen Total Drama. His favourite RR characters are the Rockers though.

Ripper: Duncan, weirdly I think he's somehow morally a better person than Duncan despite basing his personality on him.

I cannot even begin to explain how alexithymia is sooooo well written and I'm really enjoying reading it !! ^3^

im having a hard time getting into all the details of why it's so good but for ome I typically read from readers POV and didn't expect reading from carmy's POV to make it all the more intimate and precious-- you don't skimp on showing all of carmy's issues and I think that's what makes me treasure those small momemts with reader because we feel the reprive from the stressful intrusive thoughts in the writing-- its like coming from a cloud on an airplane and you seee the ocean, if that makes sense

also u got each characters behavior and role done so well that it feels natural IM OBSESSEDDD like I have the mental imagery because the transitions and convo feel so natural and between carmy and reader it's the perfect amount of awkward to make the tension continue -- my actual least favorite trope is slow burn (only for reading) but YOURE CHANGING MEEEE AHHHHH

also I typically read short fics but I think this one of few long fics that actually keep me reading and wondering aaaa

YEAH I really wanted this fic to be from Carmy’s perspective, because I felt like that was just something I hadn’t seen much of! I also wanted to write a carmy centric fic/character study of him because I just adore him so much <3

And that brings me to talk about the slowburn—I also don’t ever read slow burns. Deadass. But I think a romance with carmy is slowburn by nature because of how repressed he is. He self sabotages and ignores his feelings like no one’s business! Of course it would take forever to allow himself to even have feelings for someone! The slowburn serves a purpose!

Carmy is repressed but he is also starved for affection. This is where that push and pull comes in, and it’s the part I love to write. Characters in distress is also what I like to write the most, so…. Carmy comes very naturally to me, along with me just relating to the way he operates, thinks, and has experienced life.

Also, what a beautiful way to describe the way I write Carmy’s traumatizing thoughts with the softer moments with the roommate! That’s exactly how I want it to feel, and that’s how I think carmy feels about it too.

LASTLY I’m glad the dialogue for each of the characters comes off well! I tried to study how each character talks and their quirks. Good thing it’s working!

I hope you continue to enjoy whatever else I cook up! I definitely hope to see this long fic through to the end <3

TB Wars is mostly blind? He can see out of one eye but he's near sited in it. He relies on proxi not only for his voice (I headcanon him with a heavy stutter so she helps him with that) but also she fills in the missing gaps during battle and in crowded areas? If something happens to her or they get separated his anxiety spikes directly through the roof qnd he often will start to panick a bit.

She is pretty much the only friend he has left and shes kept him sane throughout everything that happened after he was returned home. Take her out and he's a much easier target.

Monster Fight Wars is the only one aside from Wild who nearly died in the war. He has extensive scaring and PTSD and fell into an alcoholic daze after the war that got dangerously close to doing him in anyway. Which is part of why he lives with Sky now.
