Can...can I ask them all??
25, 26, 32, & 39! (I know, I know. I’m asking a lot. Or answer whichever from the list you want. I really don’t care. They’re all good and I’m a curious sort of person.)
Haha <3 Honestly so many fun (and difficult) questions! Thank you so much for asking, I shall do my best to answer:
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
Okay, this was really, really difficult to answer. I'm not sure I have any that spring to mind. I mean, I have a million small little HCs that are more or less relevant to each story, but they also change constantly so I'm really bad at remembering them, haha.
26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?
Digging deep! I definitely regret going in at times, especially since so much of what I write is sad or hard or painful and that can be exhausting. But it's also a bit like therapy? Hah. Most often I get an idea for a scene or a situation and then it stays with me for a while - anything from a day to a few weeks. And eventually, when my brain is in the right space (which can be whenever, really, but usually when I'm tired or about to go to bed), it starts pouring out. I am quite good and jumping in and out of my characters' heads once I start writing, it's more difficult before that, when it's mostly just my brain trying to process whatever story I want to tell.
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?
Honestly, I don't go back to things like that very often, but there is one line from @rollercoasterwords ATYD - Sirius POV that I do think about at least once a week.
"Who could be expected to love a black hole, where there had once been a star?"
39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?
My readers. Honestly, it feels cheesy to say, and perhaps slightly embarrassing, but I most definitely go back and read comments on old fics when I need a confidence boost. Sometimes a break is good too, if I feel stuck I'll put the laptop away and do something else, like go for a walk, and hope that I can dislodge the writer's block.
(Questions from this writer's ask)
