Note: each name of the program is a link to their website. All of these have stablelizers, blending, and custom brushes and layers. I've only listed ones I've used/currently use :).
Paintool Sai (PC only)
Clipstudiopaint(one time purchase on computer, subscription on mobile)
Ibispaint (one time purchase on both pc and mobile) https://ibispaint.com/?lang=en-US
Personal reccemendation:
If you are a mobile user on android I would reccemend ibispaint, if you're on iOS I hear a lot of good things about procreate:) ibispaint also has an artist run site for brushes and cloud posting and saves.
As for PC, I reccemend clipstudiopaint as it's resources are boundless and it has an artist run market with both free or paid for brushes, textures, tools, u.i sorting, color palettes, 3D models and more ! And it's license purchase frequently goes on sale and only requires one purchase without annual payment. :)
What program do you use?:) Is it by any chance available of Ipad? Would you recommend it? I’m trying to switch out procreate for something better but not sure what so far haha
Heyyyy
uhhh i dont have like a set program or anything-
I use Paint Tool Sai 2 (laptop) for stuff like this
clip studio paint (laptop and PC) for stuff like this
aaaand Ibispaint X (mobile) for stuff like this
I couldnt tell you if either of these are available on Ipad cuz ive never owned one and idk how they work kfdjkg, but csp is everywhere so i guess you could try that one
If not, well Ibispaint is also a rlly good alternative, if you dont wanna pay for extra brushes you can just watch an ad and it'll let you use them for a long ass time
Tell me… what do you use for your comics? IbisPaint x, Procreate, clip-studio?
I've actually used a lot of programs. Photoshop, SAI 1 and 2, Ibis Paint, Medibang, Krita, Clip Studio, Concepts, Magma, Procreate, Paint, Notes app. I just keep changing them all the time so I don't get bored.
Right now it's Procreate phaze haha
The previous one was the Notes app and the next one I think is going to be Clip Studio:)
DISCLAIMER: This piece belongs to my personal FNaF AU. This is NOT TSAMS, and these are NOT siblings. In my AU, they are canonically married to eachother.
Sunny and Moon have always loved physical affection between one another. In fact, one of Sunny’s biggest love languages is giving and receiving hugs and kisses, right next to infodumping in magnitude. Moon went pretty much all out this year for Valentine’s Day, including decorating the couples’ shared apartment and putting together all sorts of neat sweets! After he was done setting the sweets out, the moment he sat down on the couch, Sunny’s lips started planting coral-colored kiss marks all over his face and shirt! To be fair, he DID enjoy it, he just didn’t expect how quickly the physical affection would come. There was also a pretty beautiful sunset lighting the two and their living space up so that’s nice.

So um I actually managed to draw something for Valentine’s Day again. I got this done within two consecutive all-nighters just like the comic from 2022 (except less stressful since it was a lot less work, I had more breaks, and my art style has further refined since then).
Time: 2+ Days (22hrs Cumulatively)
Program: ibisPaint X
Device: iPhone 13
(Yes I know I copypasted the description from my IG post lol. Also, if you wanna see more closeups of the piece, go there!)
Apologies if this is a boring technical question! I know its a bit annoying, but i couldnt find this answered elsewhere ^^;; but what programs and brushes do you use if youre inclined to share? Your lineart is so clean! (And if your program records timelapses, mind sharing? No pressure!)
Hello! It is no trouble at all!
I use IbisPaint X on my tablet for most of the things I do, sometimes on the phone for some easy stuff (and veeeeery rarely use Clip Studio Paint EX)
These are my main tools (which I stole somewhere on Pinterest and now cannot for the life of me remember where)! I use either these ones or default ink brushes from the app
The first one I use for lineart, coloring, shading — pretty much everything
The second one is very nice to use for some dramatic cross-hatching shadows and monochrome texturing
And yes, it does record timelapses! You can even animate there now!
Sadly it was a nightmare uploading one to Tumblr. Local video management is kinda..... bad
