August’s Book for the Romtastic Bookclub!

Alrighty peeps, our first book for the club is Beauty And The Billionaire by Jessica Claire.

THE SHORT DESCRIPTION: Virgin recluse hero smitten w/ playful heroine from afar, workplace employer/employee dynamic.

THE LONG DESCRIPTION: Real-estate tycoon Hunter Buchanan has a dark past that’s left him scarred and living as a recluse on his family’s palatial estate. Hunter is ready to give up on love—until he spots an enigmatic red-haired beauty and comes up with an elaborate scheme to meet her.

THE BOOK CLUB CHAT: On September 2nd at 6 pm Central Standard Time you’ll get a Google Hangout invite. Please message me with your Google account email if you want to participate.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Up to 10 people can video chat at a time in Google Hangouts. Each month I’ll rotate the 9 other video chatters, so everyone will have a chance to video if they want. Everybody else can chat along in the Hangout’s text chat. If you don’t want to video chat that month, or only want to participate via the text chat, that is totally okay. Just let me know.

Coffee Prince will forever hold my heart, that show made me have butterflies and just ugh so mouth loooove for that one. And the soundtrack was AMAZING. I still have to watch queen in hyuns man, especially knowing about the kisses because on the real, kdrama kisses are kinda...ya they're a little awkward sometimes. Because Coffee Prince is epic in every damn way a drama can BE epic. I’m trash, though, because I STILL haven’t reviewed it on my YouTube channel yet! (It was like one of my 1st ten dramas ever.) I’m so glad you love my blog, hon! It’s a manifestation of my channel, tbh. Romance novels and romance Asian dramas are my crack, so I review them on YouTube, and fangirl the fuck out of them on Tumblr. Do your passions, ya know? haha.

OMG a-damn-men. Censorship laws and their media (at least their cable TV anyway) are so restricted so it’s rare when you get passionate lip dancing.

GIRL YOU GOTTA WATCH QUEEN IN HYUN’S MAN OMG!!! You will love it.

And you know...come to think of it I don’t think I’ve reviewed IT on my channel, either. Or hardly any of these dramas, cause I watched them years before I started making videos. SOMEBODY SMACK ME PLEASE! lol

THE ROMTASTIC BOOKCLUB IS A THANG!!!

Alrighty, peeps. This bookclub is TOTES GONNA EXIST!

I’ve had enough people express interest that they’re down for a video/text romance bookclub, so here’s the deets!

1. GROUP BLOG I’ve just created our Romtastic Bookclub group blog and you should be getting an invite to join soon. If I’ve overlooked your name, or you’d like to join, please message me so I can add ya to the fun! This is our landing spot where we can post thoughts, quotes, reactions, etc. while we read the month’s pick. No one is obligated to post, it’s just for us peeps who wanna chat throughout the month before the club meets.)

2. CLUB MEETING: WHEN The Romtastic Bookclub will meet on the first Saturday of the month at 6 pm Central time...? This is negotiable and open to discussion because we all have different schedules. I’d like to pick a time and date that works well for most of us, so PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK! :)

3. CLUB MEETING: WHERE The Romtastic Bookclub is going to be a Google Hangout. Up to 10 people can video chat at a time and so far we have 33 people who are interested. Each month I’ll rotate the 9 other video chatters, so everyone will have a chance to video if they want. Everybody else can chat along in the Hangout’s text chat. If you don’t want to video chat that month, or only want to participate via the text chat, that is totally ok. Just let me know.

4. CLUB MEETING: HOW You will need a Google account in order to participate in the Hangout. As a result I will need your Google name or email attached to your account so I can add you to the Hangout conversation. Please message me with this information either on my @diehard-fangirl blog or on the group blog. (Also hug yourself every time I said “Google,” “Hangout,” or “blog,” lol.)

5. CLUB MEETING: WHAT Every month I’d like to rotate through different subgenres. For simplicity’s sake, I’ll choose our first Romtastic Bookclub pick. I do want to open this up for voting so everyone in the club can have a voice in what we read. I just gotta figure out the best way to do this. DECISIONS WILL BE MADE SOON!

6. NO PRESSURE! Being a member of the Romtastic Bookclub in NO WAY obligates you to participate every month. If you can’t make it to the Hangout or you’re not interested in that month’s book pick, or life gets too busy, NO WORRIES! This is just supposed to be fun, so no stress!

7. I’M A NEWBIE IDIOT! I have NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE OH MY GERD!! Hosting a bookclub, doing a Google Hangout- this is all new for me, so I’m nervous am probably gonna screw up. Please be patient with me as I fake my way through our first few months of the club. I suck, but yall don’t, so IMMA GET THROUGH DIS WITH YA!

I’ve tried to think of everything that anyone could ask, but I suck. If I left out anything or you have any questions, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME! You can also post questions on the group blog. I’ll be posting this on both my diehard-fangirl & on Romtastic Bookclub.

I recommend The Bronze Horseman! It absolutely gutted me. Also Wild Reckless by Ginger Scott reduced me to absolute tears, the love story was so painful but so healing. The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred is the only book that made me sob so much I had to put the book down for a few minutes to gather myself. I remember writing a review on it and I wrote “the hero and heroine of this book are the definition of love”. The Sweet Gum Tree is brutal but so worth the read.

Hi! Just discovered the awesome that is Attack on Titan. I just finished episode 3 and I loved the interaction between Jean and Mikasa. (even though it was short and embarrassing on his part lol) I wanted to ask if there is something between them that develops further on in the series? I ship them hardcore already.

Welcome to the SNK fandom! As for your question, I can only answer for the anime (the manga is much further ahead in the story, but I don’t read it.) The show doesn’t focus very much at all on anything shipper-y. If you pay attention, Jean’s side of the relationship grows significantly. There are soooo many small things to pick up on with him in regards to Mikasa. But his feelings remain unrequited thus far *cries forever*

Let me know what you think when you’re further into the series. Jeankasa has a small fanbase, so new additions are always welcome. I can also recommend some great blogs to follow; for Jeankasa or SNK in general if you’re interested. :)

Good luck with the rest of the show. Your emotions will be tested, but it’s worth it. ^_^
