how did u get contract offers? :0 have u been submitting a portfolio or resume ?

YEAH basically i’ve been submitting portfolios and responding to things i might see on twitter. i always include the offer of contract work if a company can’t actually hire me. i’ve also greatly benefited from word of mouth (thank you guys so much) which is been pretty invaluable. getting the right connections is key!

HOW did u do the scales??

Painted them by hand! and then doubled the layer, inverted the color to white, and set both to overlay! And i moved the white layer a little bit upwards, to create the illusion of light

oh AND i also painted the scales touched by the rim light separately, i thought it would give a more natural feeling

it wouldn't let me IM u but... do u do the value in monochrome and then add color later/after? or do u use color from the get-go and those monochrome r just practice?

I draw with color from the start, I usually do monochrome when I want to do something simpler and just work with shapes and contrasts. I’ve tried colouring from monochrome but It is still hard for me to get the colors right with that method, I need more practice 😩

honestly I think it’s the nostalgia of him and zemra but thinking and looking back critically I’m not sure why I liked him beyond being a good villain… idt I’m making sense ; ;

I decided to romance him with Virelle months in advance pre-release so my emotional down-payment was already locked in lol

at the end of the day Solas has good qualities and is endearing in his own weird Solas way

but at some point ya gotta ask yourself how much self-consumed condescension and outright dismissal of humanity youre willing to justify and excuse

I think thats the jist of it

not that Solas says and does terrible things but the unanimous agreement its the just and right way of thinking

the whole ride-or-die mentality of it all with no self-awareness of what terrible mindsets are being honored and celebrated

idk im rambling but the implications of how Solassians answered the question of “is it okay to harm others because you can’t view them as whole and need them to fit your ideals and standards” is real off putting and I wish theyd examine themselves more & im glad youre examining why you feel the way you do
