This is probably an unpopular opinion. But love victor should’ve ended at the scene where he was walking through the fair. Lake and Lucy are happy. Felix is good. Mia and Andrew are going to make it work. Raheem and Connor are doing well. His ex and the closeted kid found each other and seem to be on a fun first date. And above all victor was okay. He was alone and learned how to be happy. Everything was good. Their futures all look bright. And it was a scene so full of hope. It was the perfect ending, all bright and shiny. Like the guy asks just you and victor say yes and he’s okay with that. Smiles. And gets on the Ferris wheel. Right there roll credits

#I knew it wouldn’t end there but it should have #for every other aspect of the show it’s left on a hopeful future #no real concrete endings #and then bam there’s benji giving victor and concrete ending #idk it just felt out of place #if you leave everyone on that note #they’re all okay and the future seems like it will be pretty great too #you have to leave everyone there #not crash that moment with a solid end for just one #love victor #love victor spoilers #spoilers

Actor Anthony Keyvan Previews Season 2 of ‘Love, Victor’

Keyvan’s latest role is one that he’s especially excited about. In Love, Victor, he portrays Raheem, an unrestrained and funny LGBTQ student. Keyvan identifies with Raheem, since both of them have friendly and exciting personalities.

“He is a really funny and stylish LGBTQ+ student,” Keyvan says. “He is a character who is at the start of his coming-out journey. It is difficult, exciting, scary, and new for him. I am just very glad to be able to tell his story and all that entails in this upcoming season.”

At the forefront of Raheem’s character is his diverse background. Raheem was originally named Syrus (Keyvan’s actual middle name) but was later changed after a Muslim writer was hired to consult on the series.

It is that kind of representation that excites Keyvan, who is of Filipino, Persian, Asian and Middle Eastern descent.

“For my character in the show, it is not as easy for him to come out as it was for Simon, due to his cultural background,” he says. “I really hope what viewers take away from this season is that while it might not be easy for everyone to come out, if you have the right people around you, you should be able to get through it.”

Today’s TV shows and films don’t typically show people of color going through these kinds of struggles, so Keyvan feels a duty to represent his character with authenticity and respect.

“I think it is really important, and I am so lucky to be able to be on a show like Love, Victor where I am able to help push that narrative for young adults and teens who need to see that kind of representation on screen,” he says. “I am just really excited to be that for someone.”

Having just finished binge watching “Love, Victor”  I already know how this is going to play out. Not on the show but in fandom.

There are going to be very many think pieces about the dismantling of “Benji’s character”, thoughts about the longevity of gay relationships in TV, many more about platonic friendships/relationships and every one of those think pieces is going to have valid points. (I’ve been in fandom too long!)

However, for the first time ever, I’m not rooting for any ship. I’ll be happy if Victor ends up with Benji or Rahim. This is new territory for me AND I FUCKING LOOOOOVE IT! 

(Full disclosure though: Benji and Vic WERE fighting a lot but they just need to communicate better. Meanwhile Rahim and Vic are shiny and new and oh soooo cute! hsfdkljbhgwheiofkowaejrgu) See, this is why I can’t make a definitive decision and it’s fabulous!

Okay so I don’t stand the Benji hate im seeing, though I’m not gonna excuse his actions aka

• outing Victor to Adrien

• not acknowledging whote privilege

• and putting his frustration with Victors mom on to Victor

But are we just gonna forget that a 16/17 year old (which is literally my age) has to deal with being an Alcoholic. Like i don’t think people taking AA and Benjis sobriety seriously enough. He trusted Victor and he told Raheem and when he came to talk with the pic then the text i cant.Though I do believe Benji getting out of a toxic relationship and getting right into another was not the answer. Also how dare they confess to each other like that and like completely forget about it.

redoing my rating of the Love, Victor characters, minus Raheem for newness and the Mrs. Salazar/Mr. Brooks for slightly antagonistic roles.

1. Mia (she kept taking a backseat for to so many people in s2, hope she's okay)

2. Pilar (no explanation needed)

3. Victor and Felix (2 disastrous boys doing their best and somehow managed to get two love triangles going)

4. Papa Salazar (king of making an effort for the kids)

5. Lake (still a cherub, should have tried talking to Felix a little more about getting his mom some help, also now a wlw)

6. Andrew (disaster ally for a while there, but such a good bf to Mia)

7. Benji (got a little more definition around the edges in s2 but kind of started to give Victor a hard time towards the end which made me emo)

Overall, very good season. I was so happy with how everyone developed. I hope Benji is behind the door in s3. He and Victor need to work it out.
