Barty’s solid body is a familiar foundation as they lay on Evan’s bed, their discarded homework scattered about on the floor. Evan loves moments like these, when they simply get to just be together in the moment. Nothing to do except be with each other. If Evan could pull Barty closer right now, he would.
Before Barty, Evan had always shied away from touch. It made him uncomfortable, a hug being just a different form of a cage, an arm slung around the shoulders nothing more than an unwelcome weight. But with Barty it was somehow different, comforting in a way that Evan had never known before.
And so really, it’s no stretch of imagination that Evan would crave contact from Barty. He has years of avoiding any form of touch to make up for, and only one person who he’s really willing to let make up for that lost time.
So he positively melts into Barty, snuggling closer and moving up a little bit to tuck his face into Barty’s neck. His fingers tighten in Barty’s hoodie and he inhales, relaxing even further against Barty’s body.
Merlin, Evan loves him. If only he could pull Barty closer, increase that contact between them somehow. He craves it, the way he craves air and water and food. It’s a need, one that Evan’s not sure how to fulfill.
Except… he might have an idea. It’s more than embarrassing to admit, though. Unfortunately, however, the words are out of his mouth before he can stop them.
“Will you play with my hair?”
His eyes immediately go wide and he tucks his face into Barty’s neck and groans, muttering “Never mind, never mind, forget I even asked. Please, please forget it.”
His voice is muffled due to his face being squashed into the mattress, but Barty is still somehow able to hear him.
“Evan,” he laughs, an arm that had been slung around Evan’s back moving up to tap Evan’s shoulder. It gets Evan’s attention easily enough, and he lifts his head to look at Barty. His cheeks are flushed red from his embarrassment, and wow, does Evan really want to just sink into the mattress and never reemerge right now.
“Look at me,” Barty says.
“I am,” Evan whines.
“No, you’re looking at my forehead so you can avoid making eye contact with me. Look at my eyes,” Barty says. Evan obliges, albeit somewhat reluctantly, making eye contact with Barty.
“Evan,” Barty begins, blinking calmly, “I am your boyfriend, right?”
Evan pauses before nodding slowly, not really sure where this is going.
“Right,” Barty responds, “and as your boyfriend, I want to make you happy, yes? And if the thing that would make you happy would make me happy, too, then it’s even better, right?”
Evan waits a beat before realizing that Barty wants another answer, so he nods again.
“I’m your boyfriend,” Barty continues, brushing Evan’s hair of of his eyes, “of course I want to do some mushy and gooey things with you, especially if you want to, too. Well, maybe not all the mushy and gooey stuff. We aren’t Regulus and James, for Merlin’s sake.
“But you should know by now that I am properly obsessed with your hair. Which means that I’d love to play with it. I just didn’t know if you’d like that or not, so I just haven’t tried yet.”
Barty says his next sentence with a wide grin on his face, one that’s dangerously close to becoming reminiscent of a smirk. “But rest assured knowing that now that I have permission, your hair will not go a day without my hand having been in it at least once. Feel free to take that any way you want, by the way. But you have been warned.” He finishes his monologue with a kiss to Evan’s head, one that has Evan smiling softly.
I love you, Evan thinks, as he tucks his smile back into Barty’s neck.
But judging from the way Barty’s hand comes up to play with the strands of Evan’s hair, he saw Evan’s small smile. And maybe, just maybe, he knew what Evan was thinking, too. And maybe, just maybe, he was thinking the exact same thing.

What marauders era modern day favirote songs would be in my opinion.
Regulus - Cigarettes After Sex and mitski (star by mitski end of argument and starry eyes for Cigarettes After Sex. end of argument okay, i an talking wired ear buds tucked into an oversized hoodie with a sketch book as he sketches and water colors. no fucking argument.)
Pandora- AURORA (this one was hard but then i listened to queendom and then the whole Infections of a different kind (part one) album and yes. just yes. picture pandora and regulus sharing a headphone listening to this or like her with air pods in dancing to this sing alone in her room at 3 am with out a fucking care in the world.)
Barty TX2 or Manskin maybe both (hear me out i have posted about the tx2 thing before and i dont have a lot of explanation for that one but like 1/2 of manskins songs are in Italian and i fucking love Italian barty and if you think Barty would scream I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE at the top if his lung your are wrong my friend.)
Evan- arctic Monkeys (i know i have talked about goth evan and yes i do think he would be all over the scene this would be the music at his core he just feels with. example why'd you only call me when you're high is him thinking about barty)
Dorcas- paramore (the intire Riot! album is how i picture dorcas medows like i am picturing her with wired headphones with the volume too high as she dose some cool dorcas shit)
Sirius- canon grey (wolfstar just in genral but specifically in sirius pov -most times- but this is the music sirius would listen when he is sad and just wants to sit in it. and family line? come on, sirus would have it on spiker full volume when working on his motorcycle completely mixing vibes.)
James - ajr or we the kings ( i have reason okay hear me out, for ajr the music is all happy and upbeat but all the muisc is sad when you listen to the words, and that is james potter. he is all happy up front but deep down he struggles in silence never complaing or bating a smile. also sunshine state of mind album from we the kings ahhhhh so james fucking poter core.)
-also for james an honorable mention to miley cyrus-
Lilly - girl in red (i believe in lesbian lilly and fuck it dosent matter if it is for pandalilly or mary lilly or what ever even if you dont take in her relation ship for it i just think it is her whole vibe. like picture lilly in the morning cup of coffee and a scarf with this in the background.)
Peter- lewis capadi (the Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent album also his voice is exactly how i picture how peter would sound. like he would put it on and softly sing the lyrics as he works on a project or something and them sound exactly the same)
Remus- hozir ( this one took a while because ever band i picked started in the 80's and i wanted to pick bands that started post 2005 (i kept coming back to radio head and the smiths but after a while i figured out if pick any of Hozirs songs and i guarantee you can relate it to remus lupin in some way)
marline- billie eilish (therefore i am no question and ad guy fuck she would love it.)
mary- taylor swift (i dont need to argue this one.)
i feel like their re so many marauders bands out their and i missed so many bit these or the big more modern ones for me.

september 1st
in honour of the marauders 50 year friend-aversary!
it was september 1st, 1971 at 10:00am, and sirius black was not excited for the year ahead.
he knew what was going to happen- he knew he would end up in slytherin, as every black did. he knew he would have to make friends with the same sort of people cissy and bella were friends with. he knew he would become what his mother wanted of him, weather he liked it or not.
but sirius wasn’t going to be a carbon copy of his family. he didn’t believe in their blood supremacy or their values, he didn’t care about social status or surnames. he didn’t want to become what his mother wanted of him.
it was september 1st, 1971 at 2:00pm, and sirius black had made a friend.
well, he had made three friends- there was james; who had far too much energy and a personality as electric as sirius’ own. there was remus; who had been quiet and nervous at first but let himself smile a bit more as each minute passed. there was peter; who bounded in with snacks to share and jokes to crack, as if he had known the other boys all his life.
sirius knew then, that these three boys were going to be his best friends- a potter, a half-blood and.. peter. he knew then, that he certainly was not going to become what his mother wanted of him, and he couldn’t find it in him to care.
it was september 1st, 1972 at 9:00am, and sirius was far too excited to leave the house for his mother’s liking: not that he cared. he was littered with fresh bruises and scars. his hair had been cut again. his gryffindor scarf had been ripped up and sure, his neck was pretty chilly, but he was going to see his friends again and that was all that mattered to him.
it was september 1st, 1972 at 11:00am, and sirius relaxed for the first time in two months. he was around his favourite people on the way to his favourite place. he laughed and joked with james and peter about james’ new crush on a girl named lily evans. remus gave sirius a book to read and laughed at james with him (because really, evans?).
everything was the way sirius had been looking forward to. moments like those were the ones that kept him sane when he was barred up in grimmauld place.
he would have to go home again in a few months, he would have to listen to howlers and read letters putting him to shame. but he was with his friends again, and that was all that mattered to him.
it was september 1st, 1973 at 10:00am, and sirius black had spent the summer trying to drown out all the meetings happening in the room below his bed, all the beatings he secured himself, all the fights his mere existence seemed to cause.
all he wanted all he needed was to see his friends again- to remind him that he wasn’t by himself.
it was september 1st, 1973 at 6:00pm, and sirius black’s smile was wider than it had been in months. the food on his plate wasn’t earned by being quiet, the people around him weren’t scolding his every move. the boy beside him was still reading, putting his book down every few moments to laugh at jokes. the boys opposite him were trying to get the attention of the girls along the table (and failing miserably).
he was surrounded by love and joy and relief and friends.
it was september 1st, 1974 at 4:00am, and sirius black couldn’t sleep. he hadn’t slept in days, far too excited for the day ahead of him. he couldn’t stop thinking. he was far too excited to see remus. and to see james and peter too, of course.
the summer hadn’t been awful; his parents were preoccupied with their meetings and the flurries of people around the house. sirius had holed himself up in his room, wishing the days away and whispering meaningless chatter with regulus.
it was september 1st, 1974 at 12:00pm, and sirius black had not been functioning properly since remus entered the train compartment (for reasons unrelated to remus and purely coincidental).
sirius pushed everything that wasn’t laughter to the bottom of his head as he got back into the routine of school and being around friends. the year had promise and potential and things were looking up. he was well and truly happy.
it was september 1st, 1975 at 9:00am, and sirius black was using the housemaid’s concealer to hide the bruises on his cheeks- he couldn’t use a spell until he got to hogwarts and his friends would have seen by then. he piled on as much as he could without looking odd- it was bad enough that his parents knew he was gay, but wearing makeup would have earned him another round of the cruciatus curse. he shuddered.
it was september 1st, 1975 at 7:00pm, and sirius black was quite enjoying the fruit crumble in front of him. he was not enjoying, however, remus’ worried glances, james’ un-subtle questions and peter’s hesitation to touch him. they knew something had happened that summer- no matter how happy he had been since 11am, the makeup was wearing off, the smile was growing smaller, they could tell.
before he could speak, sirius felt a warm hand slide over his hesitantly under the table. a slow blush crept up his cheeks as remus squeezed his hand. the meal went on, and neither of them let go until they had to.
it was september 1st, 1976 at 8:00am, and sirius black still wasn’t tired of euphemia potter’s breakfasts. two months of pancakes, waffles, flavoursome spreads and fruit never seemed to get old. for once, he had enjoyed his summer- enjoyed everything about it. remus and peter had stayed for a few weeks. sirius couldn’t hold back his smile as he reminded himself of how remus’ lips tasted and how his hair smelled. the hatred between the marauders and the girls had finally sizzled out, leaving only memories of insults to speak of to future children.
as sirius pulled on his jeans, he smiled to himself.
it was september 1st, 1976 at 4:00pm, and sirius black watched dusk draw closer and closer through the window of the train. the group in the compartment had grown since their previous years, and now he listened to james, remus, peter, lily, marlene, mary and dorcas around him.
marlene was cuddled into dorcas by the door, and dorcas was stroking her hair- certainly not unusual for the two. james and lily were risking small glances at eachother, sometimes looking up at one other at the same time (which seemed to sufficiently embarrass lily).
he snapped himself back into the conversation, listening to remus’ story and trying not to get distracted by the delicate smiles he kept shooting over at sirius.
it was september 1st, 1977 at 9:00am, and sirius black was pulling down polaroids from his room in the potter’s house and moving them to his trunk. he rifled through them: lily, alice and mary in their tent, james, dorcas and frank aggressively sharing a bottle of firewhiskey, remus wearing sirius’ hoodie (that one was sirius’ favourite), peter trying to teach marlene how to bake, lily and james un-subtly holding hands under the table.
sirius placed them carefully in his trunk and smiled. these are the best years of my life. these are the memories that will last a lifetime no matter how many more i make.
it was september 1st, 1977 at 11:00pm, and sirius black was sat curled into remus on his favourite armchair, watching inquisitively as dorcas proved how awful she was at firewhisky charades (a game invented by peter in fifth year: every time someone guesses wrong, the actor takes a sip of firewhisky). alice ventured a guess (cornish pixie) that was inevitably wrong, forcing james to hand the bottle to dorcas once more. not one person round the fireplace had a straight face.
right as sirius was about to speak, he was overcome with a wave of something he had never felt so strongly- he was sat among his favourite people, his chosen family. he was exactly where he should be: in his boyfriend’s arms around the fire in gryffindor common room, with the nine people he loved most in the world.
he was right where he belonged.

            Regulus sat on the sofa, where he fiddled with his hair nervously, and shifted uncomfortably in the dress his mum had put him in. He hated that he was forced to keep his hair so long. Sirius had been growing his hair out since he was fifteen, ever since Reg finally told him the truth, that Regulus identified as a man. “Look, Reg,” Sirius had said, once his hair was past his shoulders. “Boys can have long hair too. So don’t feel bad that mum won’t let you cut it!”
           They had poured over the many Astronomy books in the library to find Regulus a different name – a boy’s name. After a bit of back and forth between the two brothers, they had eventually agreed on Regulus Black.
           Regulus had had a rough go of it at Hogwarts – being misgendered, people using his dead name, and having to sleep in the girls’ dormitories. The only time he had been happy was on the Slytherin Quidditch team, because everyone wore the same uniforms. But now he was out of Hogwarts and had hoped he could finally live his life the way he wanted. Those small glimpses of hope had been dashed once Sirius ran away from home. Sirius was disinherited and burned off the family tapestry. Regulus was now responsible for producing a Black family heir, since he was not eligible to inherit.
           Since graduating from Hogwarts, Regulus’ life had been a parade of men from pureblood families. Walburga was searching for someone worthy. Regulus had lost count of how many men had come by, looking for an arranged marriage that benefited them. Some of them were just looking for the status that marrying a Black would bring them. Others were interested in the money. Regulus had taken a page out of his brother’s book, and had causes enough trouble that they all ran away.
           Walburga had stopped giving Regulus any insight into who would be coming to the door. Perhaps she had figured out that if Regulus had knowledge of the suitor, he could figure out a way to scare them off. Most of the men coming by were people Reg knew from school, which meant he knew their weak spots. After all, Regulus was a Slytherin at the end of the day, and he would use every advantage he had if it meant he didn’t have to marry.
           The door to the parlor opened and Regulus stood up. He smoothed out the skirt of the black satin dress his mother had forced him to wear and prepared himself for the worst. He was a little caught off guard when James Potter of all people walked in. His mother considered the Potters to be blood traitors, which meant she must have been getting desperate to find someone pureblood still left.
           “James –“ Regulus said, feeling himself blush.
           “Hi Reg,” James responded, giving a little wave.
           Regulus was so shocked to hear one of these stupid suitors call him by his name. It was almost enough to make him cry in relief. “What are you doing here?”
           James shuffled awkwardly on his feet and scratched the back of his neck. “Could we maybe sit down?”
           Regulus crossed his arms over his chest. “It’s not like it’s a secret.”
           James made a disgruntled noise in the back of his throat. “I knew this was going to be bloody awkward. Look, I’m probably the last person you want to get saddled with after everything that happened with Sirius, but your mum invited me out, and Sirius wanted me to come see how you are.”
           “Oh,” Reg said, rubbing his arm self-consciously. “Well, I’m fine, you can tell Sirius I’m fine.”
           James took a tentative step forward. “Are you sure, Reg?”
           “I’m sure,” Regulus snapped at him. “You don’t want to be here anyway, so just go,”
           “I didn’t say that,” James countered defensively. “I said you don’t want me here. I know you don’t like me all that much since Sirius came to live with me.”
           “I never disliked you,” Regulus confessed quietly. “I disliked the situation, but I always understood why Sirius had to get out.”
           “So…” James took another step towards Regulus. “You don’t hate me then?”
           Regulus shook his head. “No, I don’t,” he said out loud in case James needed it verbalized to believe it.
           James sighed in relief and smiled at Reg. “I’m glad to hear it. I was a little worried you were going to hex me on sight.”
           Regulus smirked and sat back down on the couch. He crossed his legs primly and then patted the spot next to him. James eagerly hurried over to sit down beside him. Regulus tried not to find it endearing and failed miserably. “Here’s the thing, I don’t want to get married and I certainly don’t want to have a child.”
           “Okay…” James said, his brow furrowing. “Then why are you going along with all of this then?”
           “I don’t exactly have a choice,” Regulus said through gritted teeth, his hands curling into fists by his sides. “The Black family needs an heir and we both know Sirius isn’t an option anymore. As far as pureblood wizards go, you’re about the best I’m going to get. Besides, I want someone who is going to accept me as a man. I know I might not be what you were looking for –“
           “Actually –“ James interrupted, scratching his chin. “Sirius informed me I’m something called Pansexual…so, you know, I’m fine with you being a bloke.”
           Regulus blinked a few times in surprise. He honestly had not been expecting that at all and was completely baffled. He had always thought James Potter was straight, after all, he had spent most of his time at Hogwarts chasing after Lily Evans.
           “So wait, you’re actually considering this?” Regulus asked, shaking his head slightly in disblief. “You’d marry me?”
           James shrugged. “If you’ll have me.”
           “You’re not just doing this as a favor to my brother, right?” Reg asked, eyeing James suspiciously. After knowing James for so long, it was difficult not to imagine he had some kind of ulterior motive for all of this.
           James grinned. “I love Sirius like a brother, but even I’m not that altruistic that I would marry a bloke just to make him happy.”
           Regulus was satisfied with that answer. He couldn’t believe that he was actually considering marry James Potter. “You must have something you want out of all of this,” he said, chewing his bottom lip. “This is a lot to give up.”
           “I don’t see it that way,” James said, slowly reaching over and taking Reg’s hand in his, giving Reg enough time to pull away if he wanted. “I mean, you’re very pretty. Handsome? No, blokes can be pretty. You’re pretty. Beautiful, actually. I – fuck – you know you’re gorgeous. I don’t have to tell you that.”
           Regulus felt himself blushing horridly. He couldn’t believe one compliment like that – and a fumbled attempt at one no less – was enough to get him flustered. “So you just want to marry someone pretty then?”
           James laughed but it was a bit strained. “I think you’re more than just a pretty face, Reg.”
           Regulus turned his face away to hide his deeper blush. What was wrong with him today? “Shut up, James.”
           “What do you say, Reg?” James asked, giving Regulus’ hand a squeeze. “Do you want to marry me?”
           Regulus turned and eyed James up and down for any sign that he was being disingenuous. Instead all he saw was the stupidly earnest look on James’ face as he waited for a response.
           “Yes.”
                                                                       ***
           Regulus felt like he had been waiting for the other shoe to drop ever since he’d agreed to James’ proposal. After they got married, Regulus and James had gotten a flat together in London, and being away from his parents meant Regulus could finally breathe. He donated all his dresses and skirts to charity, so that he never had to see them again. James didn’t say a word when Regulus cut his hair, picking a fashionable undercut, the front still falling into his grey eyes.
           Regulus still felt like they were on the precipice of something, though. James never asked for anything, and that simple fact put Regulus on edge. He wasn’t used to someone not having any expectations for him. For the most part, James just let Regulus be, and since they weren’t sleeping in the same bed, they were almost more like flatmates than a married couple. It made Regulus uneasy, since he still didn’t know what James was getting out of their arrangement.
           It started with Regulus stealing James’ shirts and hoodies. James was fairly muscular from his obsession with Quidditch, so when Regulus wore James’ clothes, he was kind of swimming in them. They were so cozy that Regulus couldn’t help wanting to wear them. Being wrapped up in James’ clothes kind of made Regulus yearn for the man himself.
           James was relaxing on the couch, studying for the Auror exam he was taking later that month. He glanced up when Reg entered the room and his hazel eyes immediately went soft behind his glasses. He took in the sight of Regulus wearing his Gryffindor t-shirt and smiled. Regulus chewed his bottom lip for a moment and then walked over to the couch. James watched him for a minute and then scooted over in an invitation. Regulus dropped into James’ arms and they tangled themselves in each other.
           “James?”
           “Yeah, Reg?”
           “Am I enough for you?”
           James frowned for a moment and Regulus immediately buried his face away against James’ neck. He was nervous that he had upset his husband. “Why would you ask me that?”
           “Because you’ve given me a home, and you’ve let me be myself,” Regulus said, his voice muffled against James’ skin. “I don’t know what I do for you.”
           James chuckled, rubbing his hand over Reg’s back. “Do you want to do something for me?”
           “Well I am your husband,” Regulus groused, wrapping his arms around James and hugging him tightly.
           James slid his hand down, brushing his finger along Reg’s jawline, before tilting his chin up. James ducked his head and kissed Regulus tenderly on the lips. Regulus gasped slightly, but the kiss was already done before he got the sound out. “There,” James said, shifting around so that he could comfortably hold his book, his other arm still around Reg. “That’s all I wanted.”
           Regulus’ jaw was still dropped. “That can’t possibly be enough for you,” he reasoned.
           James put his book down in order to focus his attention on Reg. “Fine, I’ll do it again then,” he said with a soft sigh. He captured Reg’s lips and proceeded to kiss him breathless. Regulus clung to James, letting his mouth be invaded by James’ talented tongue, whimpering slightly against his husband’s’ lips.
           “James –“ Regulus said, breaking the kiss. “I want you to be honest with me. A few kisses? That’s really all you want?”
           James grinned and ran his fingers through Reg’s hair. “You want me to be honest, huh?”
           “Yes.”
           “I want you to wear my clothes all the time, because it does things to me to see you in them, and I’m a bad, possessive husband, who wants to see my husband in my t-shirts. I also want to kiss you pretty much all the time. Finally, I want you to fall in love with me, but that one I’m willing to wait on.”
           Regulus hid his face away again because the things James said were simply too overwhelming. “So that’s all I have to do?” Regulus asked in astonishment.
           “That’s all,” James confirmed, pressing a kiss to the top of Regulus’ head.
           Regulus huffed indignantly. It all sounded so simple, but that couldn’t be all James wanted. Regulus knew that his mother had constantly been bombarding James with owls since their wedding night six months ago. A barrage of letters and howlers had come asking when they were going to get pregnant and produce and heir. Walburga probably would have had conniptions if she knew James and Regulus weren’t even sleeping in the same bed. But after their little cuddle session on the couch, Reg was thinking he might have to reevaluate his stance on that. Being held by James was actually very nice. “May I tell you what I want?”
           Regulus felt James nod, since Reg still had his face buried away. “Of course,” James said softly. “Anything you want, Reg.”
           Regulus pulled back, so that he could see James’ face, and took a deep breath. “I want you to fall in love with me too.”
           “Too late.”
           Regulus sputtered for a moment. “Y-you’re not –“
           “I’m not?” James challenged, raising an eyebrow. His eyes got that same softness to them as he smiled before leaning in to kiss Regulus again. “I’m pretty sure I am.”
           “Only pretty sure?” Regulus murmured against James’ lips, managing to tease him, even as his heart was fluttering away in his chest.
           James chuckled, pressing their foreheads together, so Reg had no choice but to stare into those hazel eyes he’d become enamored by.
           “I’m sure.”

Dreams come true | Lily Evans x fem!reader
summary: You are in love with your best friend Lily but she doesn’t know until you play truth or dare
warnings: slight swearing, kissing, just pure fluff (tell me if there is anything missing)
song: Line Without a hook cover wlw by Lola Mercer (full version on YouTube)
As always after a won quidditch match, there was a huge party with all the Gryffindors. One of your best friends, James Potter, in the centre as he was the captain.
Slowly, more and more people went off to bed and only the small group of your best friends remained; James, Peter and Remus sat on one sofa, Sirius in front of it between Remus‘ legs as the werewolf absently played with his boyfriend‘s hair. Mary and Marlene sat on chairs next to each other. Which made you and your best friend and crush Lily share the armchair. That the two of you were sat so close to each other made you happy on the one hand, but also uncomfortable as none of them knew that you liked girls.
„So“, Marlene started. „We should play truth or dare.“
„That‘s boring. We always do that“, Sirius retorted.
Marlene smirked and pulled something out of her bag. You immediately knew that the liquid in the little vial was truth serum. „But not with this.“
„Is it what I think it is?“, Lily asked and Marlene nodded.
„What is it then?“, Peter asked confused.
„Truth serum“, you answered. Sirius‘ and James‘ eyes lit up. The two best friends looked at each other and grinned, just as if they knew what the other one thought.
„I‘m in“, they said at the same time.
„Me too.“ Peter watched as James impression changed and he was proud of him.
„I don‘t have a choice in this, do I?“ You knew Remus didn’t want to share his secrets, but surely he was excited about finding out about the ones from his friends.
„Y/N? Lily?“, Mary asked.
„Yeah, why not?“, you said. Deep down you hoped Lily would have to take a drop of the serum and spill her secrets. The more you hoped that she would say that she liked you. But you knew that this wouldn’t happen.
„Okay“, Lily said.
„Yes!“, Marlene stated. „Okay, who‘s first?“
„I am“, Sirius said. „So, James, truth or dare?“
The boy thought for a second and answered then. „I‘m going with truth.“ Marlene handed him the vial and he took a drop. After he swallowed, Sirius asked his question.
„What is going on between you and my brother?“ You choked on your own spit and your eyes went wide. The reactions from the others weren’t different and all of you waited eager for an answer.
„Regulus and I are in a relationship. I have to tell you, Pads, your genes are the best. That boy - damn, he is something. His kisses - wow. And the-“ Remus threw his hand to James‘ mouth before he could say more, which you were more than happy. He waited a moment before removing it.
Sirius sat there in shock. „You and Reggie?“ James nodded shyly. „Fuck, prongs, why didn’t you say anything?“
„Thought you might hate me.“
Sirius shook his head. „I could never hate you. Just don’t break his heart. And if he breaks yours, tell me and I put him in his place.“ You chuckled and looked at Lily, who looked very pleased.
„Okay, enough bromance“, Mary said. „Peter, truth or dare?“
And so it all started. Many secrets were spilled; Sirius said I love you to Remus, he returned it. Marlene finally came out and said she has a girlfriend. Even though everyone already knew that.
Mary had to lick your foot. In return, you had to smell James quidditch hoodie. You nearly threw up by the smell of his sweat.
„Y/N, your turn. Truth or dare?“, Remus asked. „And no dare again. I want to know your deepest secrets.“
Even though you didn’t want to as you were too afraid Lily might find out about your crush on her, you practically had no choice. Mary gave you the truth serum and you let one drop fall onto your tongue.
„So, do you have a crush on someone?“, Sirius asked. You felt the heat rise in you cheeks but nodded slightly. „Who is he?“
„What‘s his name?“, Marlene asked excited.
„Is he a Gryffindor?“ Peter wants to know.
„Is he older?“ Another question from Remus with the wrong pronouns.
„She‘s a - she’s a lady“, you said. „And I am not a boy.“
The room fell silent and everyone looked with a shocked expression to you. Peter‘s mouth opened and closed. Sirius‘ was just open, the same with James, Remus and Mary. Marlene just smiled. But Lily, you could swear you heard her breath hitch.
„Oh my god“, Remus whispered, then he smiled. „That‘s - that‘s great Y/N. I think I can talk for everyone that we fully support you and are always there for you if you need to talk.“ Everyone nodded and smiled at you. But you didn’t dare to look to your right to see Lily‘s reaction.
„Thanks, guys“, you replied.
You stopped playing and talked for another hour until all of you went to bed. You couldn’t sleep that night. Your thoughts wandered to Lily every time you closed your eyes and you were afraid that you just ruined you whole friendship with her.
~~~
One week went by and you didn’t talk to her one time. Sure, she said good morning and good night when others were around. But when you were alone, which luckily wasn’t often, both of you stayed silent.
Now, on Saturday, you already had your homework done and just laid on the sofa in the common room as you heard the portrait hole open. You sat up straight and hoped it wasn’t Lily. But it was.
She smiled as she saw you but intended to go into her dorm when you stopped her. „Lily, wait, please.“ She turned around and faced you. „Can we talk? Can you sit down?“
„Of course“, she mumbled, put her bag next to the sofa and sat down next to you.
„Is everything alright between us? We didn’t talk after … Saturday.“ The last part came out rather quiet.
She breathed in through her nose and exhaled through her mouth, which she just did when she was nervous or stressed. „I-I don‘t know what I am supposed to say.“
„See, Lils, it‘s okay. You don’t have to, let me do it. I like girls, okay? Okay. It’s not like I like you … You‘re my best friend, right? You don’t even like girls.“ You giggled as an attempt to smooth the vibes, but only made it worse. And lying to her felt horrible.
She straightened herself and looked down at her hands. „You don’t?“, she whispered.
„I -“ You didn’t know what to say. Eventually you decided to just give it a shot. She must know. She had every right to know that you loved her. And there was a slight chance that she liked you back. „I do. I do like you. I-I love you. Not just as a friend. I am in love with you.“ You breathed out but continued and tried to make it better. „You don’t have to like me, obviously. Don’t say a thing. I shouldn’t-“
She grabbed your face in both of her hands, turned it to her and smiled at you. „Please, Y/N, just shut up.“ She pulled your face towards hers and looked into your eyes one more time before pressing her lips down at yours.
You rested your hands on her hips and pulled her closer to you as yourlips were moving together. You never wanted to do anything else than this, she was just so addicting. If you could’ve stopped the time, you wouldn’t have to think twice.
But the two of you ran out of oxygen, so you pulled away from each other. There was just a bit of space between you. Your eyes were still closed, you were overwhelmed with what just happened. You couldn’t believe it.
„Y/N?“ You opened you eyes and looked and her smiling face. „I love you too.“
„Really?“, you asked in positive shock.
„Wasn’t it obvious?“ You shook your head and she laughed. „Yes, I love you. So much.“ She kissed you again, this time it was a soft, small kiss.
And your dream came true. Lily Evans loved you back.
