sksjsjsj the potential for a qrow & marrow dynamic where they were both in love with clover lives rent free in my mind. theyre two parts of a love triangle with the part that was actually linking them punched out and now they’re just left with all these residual feelings of heartbreak and grief. they’ve got this twenty year age gap that shows in how they’re taking clover’s death, qrow coldly resolved to his misery and what he has to do next, whereas marrow is lost at sea, cutting himself on the shards of completely new emotions and learning how dark the world really is. marrow should hate qrow, because everytime marrow was looking at clover, clover was looking at qrow. but he would’ve been blind not to see that all of clover’s best traits, the parts marrow loved him for, were exactly why clover was lost the moment he met qrow.
