can you explain why you like face-off?? curious lmao
GOOD QUESTION TY FOR ASKING <3
It isn't because it's a particularly good movie, or that the acting is amazing. I honestly just kinda like the symbolism and concept. It's a WILD ride of a movie and I like it most for the absolute buckwild execution <3
The concept of two guys switching faces is inherently so funny, but they made it an action movie. Not to mention they decided to cast Nicholas Cage and John Travolta as the two main characters. Sidebar, they wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger originally but he declined the role after reading the script. ANYWAY
The whole movie is hilarious, it's great fun if you don't take it too seriously. Beyond that, some of the things they do are kinda cool. Castor and Pollux Troy are a really interesting sibling dynamic, and I wish it got a little more runtime than it did. Castor clearly cares a lot for his brother (arguably he's the only person Castor cares about, considering the information we get about his son), and Pollux knows almost instantly that Sean is posing as Castor when they meet in prison. There's also a mention of Castor hand-feeding Pollux his pills, which is a wild departure from the priest-posing, gun-slinging, face-stealing sonofabitch we get throughout the course of the movie.
We also see a surprising amount of psychological turmoil when Sean goes through with the switch, especially once he gets freed from prison and meets Castor's pals. He is slowly losing his identity to the man that killed his only son, and this insanity and turmoil is what ultimately makes him believable to Castor's gang.
Castor's situation is a little different, we see him absolutely butcher a bureaucratic job when he assumes Sean's identity. This is expected, Castor doesn't do well with taking orders from higher-ups arbitrarily. We get surprising interactions between Castor and Sean's family though. You'd expect cold and uncaring, completely detached. He actually shows a surprising amount of concern for Sean's daughter, teaching her how to deal with pushy boys permanently (still one of my favorite scenes tbh). Sean's wife gets more passion than she has in a long time, which is absolutely hilarious to behold.
They also have some pretty cool religious symbolism here and there (mostly toward the end), and the scene where they're surrounded by mirrors is iconic for a reason. Confronting your enemy, and also yourself! (They are one and the same)
Tldr; it's a really funny watch when you don't take it seriously, and they do some interesting things psychologically if you want a deeper watch. It's a fun movie, that's why I like it. :]

Okaokay you get Enzo lore as a treat!
He's a demon that currently resides in the upper rings of Hell (@ch1ck3n-t03s 's Hell universe specifically, go follow them bc they're cool). His full name is Vincenzo Muñoz, but most people just call him Enzo.
He grew up the son of a Mexican immigrant, his family wasn't very wealthy, but they got by. He learned how to play the guitar through school, continuing his studies at home. He loved music, and always dreamed of being in a band. He dabbled in songwriting as well, using it as a way to process his emotions at the time.
As he got older, he would attend small clubs and get-togethers with live bands, hoping to network with people and pursue his passion. Eventually he was successful, joining a (currently unnamed) underground band! He didn't have a front role though, he was delegated to songwriter and was given little to no credit for his work.
His bandmates were absolutely venomous to him, especially the lead singer, Clif. They entered a toxic friends-with-benefits sort of relationship. They probably attempted a genuine relationship at some point, but lord knows that didn't go well.
After years of abuse at the hands of his bandmates, Enzo separated from the band and spoke out against them. Though a subset of fans believed Enzo's story and protested Clif's involvement in the band, many people chose to side with Enzo's bandmates.
I haven't quite worked out how this happens yet, but eventually Enzo gets poisoned by either a """""fan""""" or one of his bandmates (most likely Clif), and dies! He wakes up in Hell with purple skin, horns, and an extremely good sense of taste.
He meets Capricorn, a peppy demon with a love for raves, kandi, and music. Excited to meet someone as passionate as he, they start making music together! It's a slow process, but soon they form a little band of their own with a couple other friends. Enzo, wanting to take a more active role, names the band "Plastic Parlor" and volunteers as lead guitarist and songwriter. They never get very popular, but they have fun performing at little shows or events! They break up after Pixie, the lead singer, expresses that she's struggling with her health and needs to stop performing for a while.
After that, he decides to live quietly, setting up in a little house with an adopted Hellcat, Snapdragon. He yearns to make music though, and decides to play guitar and sing independently during open mic nights and other events.
One of the events he attends is an audition for lead guitarist of the "All Seeing Eyes," one of the most popular bands in Hell. He doesn't expect to get in, but hopes that he can at least get his name out to further his solo career.
Lo and behold, he gets in!
He forms a close friendship with Ryan, the lead singer. They eventually become romantically involved, and they live happily ever after!
Not really, there's more shit, but you'll get that lore later when I maybe talk about Zerah <3

You. You get Monte!!!!
Monte Prolotov is the kind of OC you dig out of a dumpster. He's based on the Cyberpunk 2020 trpg, he's a rockerboy! Huge fan of Johnny Silverhand, if you're familiar. I'll be using language from Cyberpunk so I apologize if you're unfamiliar (please ask me about Cyberpunk I beg)!!
He grew up the son of corpo lawyers. His mom used to be a celebrity, she had a full voicebox replacement and was known for her voice. Monte wanted to sing, but the dull corpo propaganda music didn't appeal to him. He found some old 8-tracks, casettes, and DVDs his parents kept as novelties and fell in love with the music!
His parents didn't approve of his non-corpo career path, and after a heated argument, Monte left. He couch surfs now, uncomfortable with settling down. He doesn't want his parents to catch wind of his location, just in case they have ill will toward him. He changed his name as well; his given name is Týr McCoy.
Since moving out of his parents' place, he's gotten permanent hair replacements and a voice synthesizer. His parents had paid for his eye cybernetics, as his natural eyesight was poor. The hair is for aesthetic and anonymity purposes, the voice synthesizer is for fun during gigs!
He loves to play guitar, and he's got a good natural singing voice as well. His few fans tend to enjoy the natural sound.
He's a silly little guy,,, foolish and confident about it. He walks into the room like he owns the place, but in truth has very little idea what's going on at any point in time. He tends to be naive, but he's loyal and truthful. He thinks himself invincible to some degree.
I have a few ideas for him later in his story, but he's meant to be a playable character so I haven't come up with much in the way of development.
I have some art of him on my art blog @scribsonian if you'd like to View him.
Ty for the ask!!! :DDDD
