🐚🌷 Shell bowl manifestation spell 🐚🌷
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌸 A simple and basic manifestation spell for a sea witch. From my personal grimoire! 🌸
💐 Things you'll need 💐
• Circle casting tools
• Herb bundle or rosemary/sage incense to cleanse
• A medium sized shell- clam, scallop, bear’s paw or abalone
• A marker
🌛 When to cast🌜
• Any moon phase depends on your intentions
🕯️ The spell 🕯️
* Cleanse your work area and cast your circle. Then call out any deity or spirit to aid you in your spellwork.
* Light your candle(s) and cleanse the shell.
* Chant your intent as you write it down on the shell. You can write your intentions all over the inside of the shell if you want!
* When you’re done writing flip the shell (the written side with your intent) towards to your altar to cover your intent.
* With both hands on the shell manifest your intentions until it feels like it’s coming towards you.
* Close your circle and leave the shell facing downwards on your altar and leave it alone. Turn the shell facing upwards when your manifestations has comes true.
🌷 Happy casting! 🌷

Ever since I made my mimic treasure chest a little while ago, I got inspired with another concept: a book mimic! (More specifically, a grimoire mimic.)
When I was looking though my embroidery thread, I ended up being very drawn to a dark teal-ish green that reminded me of seaweed or kelp in the deep ocean, it’s the type of colour that makes me think of a sea witch.⋆·₊˚☽♆☾࿐༄࿔
So I went with a sea spellbook type of look on the outside. I did stitching around the edges and embroidered an ammonite shell, a crescent moon, a key, and a drop of water on the front. On the back, I embroidered some bindrunes and sigils I made (all relating to the theme of the project), as well as a star and sun to tie in with the moon on the front.
I made two green eyes for this mimic, one for each “page”, with slit-shaped pupils. They’re a mixture of solid bits of fabric and some stitching with black string for outlines. The teeth on this mimic are much more visible and obvious than the last, having no where to really be tucked into or hidden, but I guess I just like making inexperienced, amateur mimics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (it’s still trying its best though, that’s what matters).
I also wanted to make some little items to go along with my mimic’s sea magick theme. I had keys in mind, so I made three keys out of black wire and shells (clams and an oyster) that I found a little while ago at the beach.
I like to think that only one is the true key, and that the adventurer has to pick the correct one [if the mimic decides to even give them a chance to choose >:) ]. Or what if all the keys were all mimics as well? The clams could end up snapping their shells at your fingers like vicious little mouths, or they could simply squirm themselves out of your grasp, inching away like caterpillars. I guess you’d just have to find out, if you really wanted to see where they lead...
...Maybe one key even leads to a certain treasure chest?
Anyway, this project took me a bit more figuring out to do, since it took me a little while to decide on how I wanted to do the teeth “pages”. I didn’t want everything to end up being too floppy and unsupported, so I just attatched the the teeth straight to the cover, rather than having actual funtioning pages to flip though. But I’m still proud of how it all came together! <|:^D ·₊˚☾∘∙

With everything going on in the world and in my own life right now, it’s been difficult to set aside time for mindfulness. But today, after another long day of making less than minimum wage, I decided to get back in touch with my magickal roots. Not only was I able to work my frustrations out with a pile of shells, crystals and superglue, but I made this neat little ocean scene!
Some of the materials were collected from my favorite local beaches - others were simply laying on my altar. This little trinket was made with so much love and with every intention to bring another person the serenity of mind that comes from being surrounded by the Sea. 🌟

I think death and sea magick go so well together not just because Hades and Poseidon are brothers or that the ocean is literally full of corpses, but also because of this sense of beneath and of inevitability.
The general religious consensus tends to be that the/an afterlife exists below us on the cosmic map. The ocean is, obviously, deep. Too deep for us to have properly explored it. That fear of “We don’t know what’s down there” applies to both. Each lays far below us in an unknowable abyss.
The cycle of life leads us all to the underworld time and time again. The water cycle returns all water to the sea eventually. There’s no avoiding Hades or Poseidon. They are both completely, utterly, and comfortingly inevitable.

Did my first tarot reading ever today. I wanted to ask if sea magick was the path I was meant to take. And uh... It sure seems like it agrees.
According to my book:
Strength: your ability to move through fear and find the unshakable power within yourself
I am definitely very afraid right now to take steps towards this. I grew up in a very conservative Christian home, and the thought of witchcraft was entirely forbidden and only seen as evil. I feel right about this, but I'm afraid to take steps towards beginning it. If I can draw on the power within myself and commit, I think I'll feel really comfortable with this path. I don't plan on following any particular deity because I want to find the strength inside myself first
The Hanged Man: The necessity to look at something from a different perspective
By embracing the conviction I have that this is the right call, I will need to reexamine the whole way I perceive the world. Like the image on the card, I am reaching for something new, and I hope it brings a sense of transformation to my life. Plus, he is specifically reaching towards water, which is very serendipitous
The Hierophant: Using spiritual understanding and wisdom to perceive the world
Well, I'd say this one is pretty clear. This book doesn't have an interpretation for reversed cards, but I think the upright meaning is still pertinent here. But it seems that by embracing this path, I'll be able to foster my spiritual side and deepen my understanding of the world around me. Especially by working with one of the elements
All in all, still a little nervous, but I feel a little more certain about it now. I'm hoping to be able to start building an altar soon 🤞
