Artists never die. They are immortal. somewhere in the world the artists live on through their work. Artists never lose, they never compete with others. The purpose of an artist's life is to create and only create.
Perhaps there are no other choices for me except art. I had that courage and tenacity to continue with this only, but the circumstances were different at that time. I could overcome all the obstacles only because of my nearest and dearest ones. I started my journey to this world of art by my mother's insistence. Financial condition never impacted much on my practice. Whatever I had asked for this purpose, always were there on my table. It had been possible only because of my mother.
After that a new journey begins, I started to participate in different exhibitions and from that time Rupa has been with me, as my girl friend, wife and my daughter Rasika's mom. Someone like her is really important as a life partner.
Sometimes I remember all those days when I was just a 7/8 year old, specially holidays, my uncles used to sing together and it had made those days ceremonial. Different musical instruments they used like Tabla, Harmonium, Mandira, Kartal and some other stuff. Afterwards when Ganesh Kaka started singing Boul song, I came closer to Ektara, Dotara, Khamok, Boulbaya, Banshi, Behala and so many other instruments. Kaka used to sing Boul while also dancing very cheerfully, I always enjoyed that. I was attached with Bouls from those days. Kirtan was also very popular during those events. Someone was very good at Khol.
Sometimes Boul, Sometimes Kirtan, I don't want those memories to fade away, ever in my life. So, I have tried to capture it on my canvases. Khol, Dotara sounds into my ears and the mystic Boul songs take me back to my childhood home. I can feel them, enjoy them, try to share the ecstasy of the music(Saptak) with all through the colors. The vibrant colors are intentionally used by me to express extreme joy and glory of music. Each of my works is a mere representation of love and merriment.
