What’s your favorite Hetalia ships? Specifically Balkans, if you have any

If you couldn’t tell by my account, I really like Edelweiss, but speaking specifically about Balkans it’s gonna be hard to pick…

Canonically, I like Robul. It’s cutesy and the only balkan content Hidekaz gives:‘-) (which may be for the best… im not sure how much I trust him with the Yugos). But if we include Non-canon Balkaneros, I’m a basic bitch. CroSlo is cute! Very safe pick, The most western ExYUs (gayest), but I love it. I also like Serbmont (Montserb ? Honestly idk), Insane Warcriminal x Lazy Househusband. Despite my liking of pretty basic ships, I’m pretty open to most Balkan Ships, though its quite the minefield of morality considering their histories and such LOL

Fic: drabbles

//-dusts off blog- so finals amirite? I’ll see how much I’ll do with this blog over the summer ahaha

In the meantime, I wrote some drabbles! Based on some ships, though various levels of shippyness varies. All drabbles ended up as 100 words, which I’m proud of lol, though some have some notes added on.

BosHerze Castle

“…and that’s the gardens, and this is the castle!”

Bosnia spread her arms wide as she gestured towards the sturdy looking fortress. “We’ll be staying here a while before we continue on to Visoko.”

Zahumlje said nothing. He was miserable. At least when he was being bossed around by Serbia or Croatia or Rome*, they had been taller and older, so them being more powerful was fine. But now, he was being bossed around by some girl a head shorter than him with flowers in her scandalously short hair. It was the worst embarrassment a nation could imagine.

Life sucked.

*Rome in this case is the Byzantine empire, as when it still existed it was just called Rome.

SloMace Wicked

“Oh, wicked!”

Primož raised an eyebrow at Vesna. “Wicked?”

She grinned. “It means, like, cool. It’s slang. Doesn’t hurt to try slang sometimes, you know. All the cool, hip bands say it.”

He definitely did not pout as he said, “I can use slang.”

“Sure, Primo.” Vesna smiled patronizingly at him, then paused and tilted her head slightly, as if thinking hard. “Going back to cool bands though, you’re a part of ours, so I guess we automatically don’t qualify as cool. How sad.”

He threw a nearby shoe at her, as she laughed and danced out of the room.

SerbCro Evaluate

“Novak.”

“Krešimir.”

The two men evaluated the other. They hadn’t seen each other in a while, at least not outside the professional business sphere, and suddenly happening upon the other man so casually raised their hackles quite a bit. They gazed intently, as if those gazes would reveal the other man’s weaknesses and secrets.

This show off, however, would’ve been significantly more tension filled if it weren’t for the fact that they were in a dog park and Novak’s dog Ben was sniffing Krešimir’s dog Jelena’s butt.

Novak tugged on the leash. “Ben, stop that. Oh, Lea don’t you start.”

CroHun Explosion

Croatia threw himself on the ground as the enemy sent another volley of arrows, these setting the wood in the castle on fire. He wouldn’t die from the arrows, not permanently at least, but it would still hurt. Sieges sucked.

He chanced peeking up and saw Hungary standing straight over the ramparts, laughing and making rude hand signs towards the enemies. He stared at the older boy in disbelief and awe.

“Are you crazy?” Croatia yelled over the sounds of battle. He ducked down as more arrows rained down.

He heard Hungary laugh, and decided yes, the boy was nuts.

*this is during the time Hungary thought she was a boy.

MontHerze Strike

Nada slammed the trunk closed and looked through the window, grinning. She sauntered around the car to the passenger seat and sat so she was straddling Danica.

Danica gave her a chastising look, but Nada could only properly see one eye, so the reprimand was minimalized. Nada grinned unashamedly.

“Are the—”

“Weapons all in? Yes, it’s all good.”

Danica let out an irritated huff, but put her hands on Nada’s waist and Nada’s grin grew smug. She put her own arms around Danica and leaned in. “We’re ahead of schedule, we could—”

She was interrupted by a kiss.

MontMace Moonlight

The moonlight brightens Vesna’s hair, turning the auburn locks into a fierce red befitting her fierce personality. Her tanned skin doesn’t fare as well though, looking too pale and washed out wherever the moonbeams hit. Even against stark white sheets, her skin seems too dull for such a vibrant person.

Danica lightly pushes some curls off Vesna’s shoulder, then traces a finger down her arm. Vesna doesn’t stir, so different from her constant moving when awake.

The colors, the movement, it’s all so off.

Danica leaves the bed then. Vesna at night is too different from Vesna during the day.

SerbMont Rose

Danica looked down at Novak’s hands. “What’s this?”

He gave her an irritated look. “It’s a flower. A rose. Several of them, actually. I’m sure you’ve seen flowers before, they’re pretty common.”

Now, she gave the irritated look. “I know what flowers are. Why are you giving it to me?”

“Because I like to give gifts?”

“Of a bouquet of roses? You?”

“Oh, shut up.”

Novak shoved the bouquet into her chest. If Danica didn’t know better, she would’ve said he was blushing. “Just take the damn flowers, already.”

She grabbed them, just so they didn’t fall to the floor.

SerbGre Gaudy

Novak stared down at the shirt he was wearing.

“Do you really think this looks good,” he asked Heracles.

“Have I ever led you wrong?”

“All the time.”

“How about with fashion?”

“Yeah, then too.”

Heracles ignored that. “It looks fine. Everyone will be talking about it.”

Novak looked down at his outfit once more. “I don’t know, purple and orange…”

Heracles crossed his arms, and imagined petting a cat to calm down. “Fine, I’ll wear it then.” He started unbuttoning Novak’s shirt, then paused. He raised an eyebrow. “Unless you want to take it all off and stay in?”

KosLiech Hypnotise

Aleksandra pulled excitedly on Lili’s hand, leading the smaller girl through the tents at the fair. “The fortune teller’s tent was right over here!”

Lili plodded along behind her, not as convinced that going to a fortune teller was a great idea. “I don’t know, Sandra. Do you really want to get hypnotized or something?”

Aleksandra looked over her shoulder. “To see my future? Uh, yeah! It’s gonna be awesome, don’t worry about it.”

The arrived in front of a purple tent with an eye on the front flap, still holding hands. Aleksandra gave Lili a smile. “It’ll be fine.”

BosTurk Broom

Bosnia swept up the colorful glass shards. Serbia, Wallachia, and Greece had broken one of Turkey’s vases. Again.

Boys, she scoffed in her thoughts as she carefully tipped the shards from the broom pan into a cloth bag to throw away later. No respect for their betters.

Because Turkey was in so many ways their better! Not only was he taller and older and more handsome than Serbia, Romania, and Greece could ever hope to be, he was also kind and gentle. Yet, he knew when to be tough.

The perfect man, she sighed, carrying the bag of shards away.

Rarepair week Day 4

Sorry im late my finals started

Serbia first met him when he was the Black Mountains, he named him Zeta and took him home, after WW1 they had been friends for years, Ottoman times/battles, Balkan war 1 and 2. Then Yugoslavia came and they saw their other family. Durning good and bad times they where there for each other one night in WW2 Monte couldnt sleep and walked to Serbia's bed and wispered "I love you" before going back to bed. Years later Montenegro left him, he was about to walk out the door but then Vuk spun him around and said "i love you to" before kissing him, leaving Sćepan confused. These two have quite a long history, but it's one they are proud of.

The red one was based on ask above from a prompt that I’ve rebloged last month while 46 is one bandaging another. It's immediately reminded me of The Wounded Montenegrin, a painting by Paja Jovanović, you can see I've put lots of reference from that art piece into my drawing.

The blue one is just a thing that I've planing to draw for a long time, which Goran in his traditional  garment and Lazar is wearing  a full dress uniform. Yes I’m escaping from drawing actual backgrounds here.

Also I'm been thinking to make a post about these two since last year so anon you're really lucky! And I will only count late 19th century to early 20th century this time, since it's also showed as those pictures.

During the centuries of nationalism, both Montenegro and Serbia were having strong willingness to achieve the unification of Serbdom. However the actual progress was more complicated and even tortuous, even both of Montenegro and Serbia were in the same side during war times, but we can still see there were disputes between their monarchs then politics in general, in fact this is related to the method of the unification itself.

The agreement between Serbia and Montenegro was signed on 5 October 1866 in Cetinje. According to the agreement, Serbia and Montenegro would act as an unified Serb country. The major role in establishing of the First Balkan Alliance was played by Serbia, Prince Mihailo Obrenović made Serbia the center for revolutionary and national activity in the Balkans. Prince Nikola was willing to relinquish his throne should a union of the two states be possible. Since Mihailo was childless, the Montenegrin ruler evidently had hopes that, if the Serbian throne became vacant, he might succeed.  But this earliest Balkan alliance didn't last long since Mihailo was assassinated in 1868 and his successor Milan was only 13 years old.

Uprising in Herzegovina had triggered wider crisis of the Ottoman rulership in the Balkans. Montenegro declared war on the Ottoman Empire in 1876 then Serbia followed closely (eventually Russia declared war in 1877). As part of the final outcome of the war, Montenegro and Serbia were formally recognized as independence at the Congress of Berlin in June 1878, and they both acquired more territories but their gains were much smaller compared to the previous Treaty of San Stefano had promised, so the conference were very disappointing for them.

Attempting to seize on the instability in Serbia, Nikola sought to promote himself as the legitimate heir to the Serbian crown. Conflicts between the Karadjordjević and Obrenović families presented Nikola with an opportunity to meddle in the internal politics of Serbia, and gave him a degree of latitude he may otherwise have had to do without. Nikola's daughter Zorka married the Petar Karadjordjević in 1883, however Miloš Obrenovic was the ruler of Serbia at that time, then this was a move that worsened the relationship between Montenegro and Serbia.

Nikola's son Mirko married Natalija Konstantinović in 1902, since she was a descendant of the Obrenović, meanwhile the Serbian King Aleksandar was childless, so the Montenegrin prince now once became the heir for the Serbian throne. But the Serbian royal couple were both killed in the May Coup that took place in 1903, which led to the end of the Obrenović dynasty, Peter Karađorđević eventually became the new king. Again, both Serbia and Montenegro have a strong willingness to unite, on Serbia's point of view, the unification will under the Karadjordjević dynasty.

Ottoman Empire was almost driven out of Europe after Balkan Wars of 1912 to 1913, then both Serbia and Montenegro were further expanded their territories (especially Serbia), while they also got a common border, a development that once again revitalized the debate over Serbian–Montenegrin unification.

During the Great War, according to the joint operation plan of the Serbian and Montenegrin armies in the war against Austria-Hungary two-thirds of the Montenegrin army was placed under the supreme command of Serbia and delegates were exchanged in order to ensure stable communication between the Serbian and Montenegrin armies.

A violet and underlying controversy between the Rolyalists (the Greens) and Unionists (the Whites) arose, the Podgorica Assembly commenced on 24 November 1918, and the session lasted until 29 November. The most important decisions of the Assembly were made at the session on 24 November to dethroned King Nikola, unite Montenegro with Serbia under the Karadjordjević dynasty then into a Yugoslav state.

Not all Montenegrins approved of the decisions the assembly reached. Those who favored unification with Serbia were satisfied with the outcome, but those who favored continued independence and the continuation of the rule of the Petrović dynasty were not. On Orthodox Christmas Day in January 1919, the Greens staged an armed uprising, then Whites, with support from the Serbian Army, defeated the Greens near Cetinje.

Alt-talia Compilation: A Collection Of Shorts

Okay... so I’m cheating again. So this is yet another post where I repost prompt fills from my fanfiction.net profile. But I really wanted to get stuff out for one of these pairs but couldn’t come up with anything.

This is yet another one for Free Prompt; none of the prompts matched.

I swear I wanted to get something for Music... maybe next time. I do want to release a set of new Hetalia Emblem supports before the event is truly over though!

Most of these are platonic except for LitBel and Phil -> Kor. Though one of these pairs, one of my BrOTPs in fact, Turkey and South Korea, literally has zero content. I really like the idea of them as friends, and while the prompt here may not be entirely historically accurate right now, it does have basis in historical and modern fact. I like to dub this duo KimchiKebab; it’s a catchy name if you ask me. Also, for once, I’m using non-canon countries! Here we have Serbia and Montenegro of Yugotalia fame and Brazil and Argentina of Latin Hetalia, though I’m not sure if I’m using those exact designs.

But Augh I would have liked to post more actual ships... (I’ve been planning on writing Rome x Ancient Greece for a long time now but that has never materialized, i would have liked writing more fluffy LitBel, maybe show Poland and Ukraine’s marriage before it went up in flames, written this Den -> Fem!Nor <- Swe fic I’ve had the idea for a while now, actually finish BBDR, some Fem!EngPort...) but alas, University happens.

I really hope I can get those supports done soon...
