i have 2 scenarios on how a sg earth spark story would go

1: the roles will change and the deceptcions will either work with ghost or with mandroid if he is the good guy and ghost are the bad guys and optimus will have the same role as earthspark megatron being the former autobots leader and work with the deceptcions on earth and stop the autobots.

2: the autobots are working with ghost and megatron work with them like in earthspark but i don't think sg megatron will join the autobots willingly after all the horrible and devil things they done so the only way megatron will join the autobots is gonna be a brainwashed megatron either an accident that happend in a battle that damged his mind and the autobots took advantage of that or they captuerd megatron and brainwashed him and i see that happening cause sg autobots will do something like that (kinda like what happend to optimus in tfp) and the deceptcions have mixed feelings about megatron betrayal not knowing that he is brainwashed and the deceptcions work with the malto family and the terrans to stop the autobots and get megatron back.

(note: i have't watch earthspark so i might get some stuff wrong)

Considering the two times shattered glass earthspark has come up on this blog recently, and considering every time I've thought about it, these seem to be the main two approaches?

I have never seen the shattered glass autobots' actions described as "devil things" but you very much aren't wrong lol.

I 100% remember the "Megatron was brainwashed/shadowplayed/something by GHOST" theory and while it seems like it's probably not true maybe, it's still a super cool concept (i think? I've seen a shattered glass mtmte fic with the idea while scrolling that i didn't click on??) especially with just the crunchiest of implications. Would you believe me if i said I've errantly thought "how fucked up would it be if earthspark was secretly the first shattered glass cartoon we got?" which was most definitely wrong but in hindsight it's kinda funny that i thought that, all things considered.

On one hamn, mmmnmnm interesting story behind a possible sg Optimus redemption arc. On the other, shadowplayed sg Megatron arc.

PS: That's my 1968 Traynor TR1 Reverb Unit on top, but it's not in the signal chain at the moment. Rather I am using my Boss FBM1 (for some overdrive at low volumes), into my @coffeeshoppedals Cortado reverb, which produces a much cleaner, less harsh and noisy, and therefore much more pleasing, version of spring reverb than an actual tube-driven spring reverb unit does! 😂

so a special grade curse is anything stronger than or equivalent to a grade 1 sorcerer, whereas a special grade sorcerer is someone capable of conquering a nation. now. the question is, was yuuta prior to releasing rika classed as special grade as a sorcerer or was he classed a special grade by virtue of rika being a special grade curse? because those two have VERY different connotations in regards to how strong rika was as a curse lol

i was so convinced i was gonna be in a glam rock band when i was a kid too. my dad was always like this huge rockstar in my eyes (bc he is a musician and i grew up listening to him play and talk abt band stuff and be in diff bands throughout my childhood) and i was always so insistent to him that he teach me to absolutely SHRED on guitar but. the issue with that. is that. my dad does not play guitar. he plays bass. and keyboards. so he’d tell me he couldn’t teach me guitar and i’d need lessons for that but he could teach me bass. and i’d look at him and with all the dead seriousness a 5 year old in a hannah montana pajama set can muster be like. well can i still be in whitesnake if i play bass. and he’d be like well i think they already have a bassist but yeah most bands need one. and i was like GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME IM GONNA KICK OUT WHITESNAKES BASS PLAYER AND TAKE OVER. i was maybe a little megalomaniacal as a kid

incidentally i never learned to play bass. i am learning keyboards though :D

Okay, seeing Shattered Glass mentioned made me think of this Earthspark SG fic I read. It was quite short, so there was no worldbuilding, but it had Optimus Prime be the one to defect and that just gets my brain going. Like, what could make Optimus Prime of all mechs swap? Was it through his relationship with a human? Another bot? Something else?

I've considered how shattered glass Earthspark would turn out interesting, I likely will be able to find that fic rather quickly, but: I've thought about flipping the script with situations where SG Optimus defects and I imagine the reasons would be so fucking crunchy considering his personality

From what I can see, the shattered glass autobots are WAY less loyal than the baseline decepticons tend to be. You can full well argue here for a plot where there's a violent coop that both injures Optimus and ejects him from the SG autobots (I blame SG Mags or Prowl tbh), and you can have a plot where a human finds him and fixes him up AOE style. I've seen fics do this with baseline decepticons sure sure, but it'd be so interesting to explore shattered glass Optimus's personality and see what strings we have to pull for a redemption arc (ohhoho we can exactly lean in on the Matrix and how Optronix -> Optimus Prime. There's a corruption plot we can follow here).

After all, we've played with redemption arcs or at least "Be Less Of A Bastard" arcs for several characters on this blog before that are a little bit unusual; why not shattered glass Earthspark Optimus?
