a/n: no specific ethnicity for the reader, but it is mostly assumed that the reader is of pinoy descent; I hope you all enjoy this, pls don't hesitate to add more! <3

okay so i imagine that mr. more-serious-than-his-younger-brother crispin has not really grown up to be a hopeless romantic

didn’t date, didn’t think that love is real (“it’s cheesy”/“baduy naman”), so finding his one true love hit him like a ton of bricks

sees you for the first time while working on a case with bossing, you live next to the house of the victims

really found you cute, but he didn’t get the chance to approach you because you had slammed the gates closed in front of him

he sees you again completely by accident during another case, and crispin was so surprised and thankful

he keeps trying to make eye contact with you, while you are trying not to make eye contact with the tall, muscular man who is wearing a dark suit

he finally asks you out, and you at first freak out, somehow convinced that this man is a part of a gang or is some scary rich dude who is the future ceo of his dad’s company or something

to your surprise, he picks you up (still dressed in a suit) but brings you to a small family restaurant--almost a carenderia

it is so amusing to find him so overdressed during the date, but it is a nice dinner and you two have fun talking and getting to know each other

he is so cute when asking if you wanted to hang out again, and when you say yes, he smiles so brightly

you get streetfood the next time you hang out!

at this point, crispin kinda already knows about your life story, but you still dont know his

he seems to be a little closed off about the topic, but you dont push him

crispin is gone from time to time, only texting you sporadically, but you dont question it even though you are curious, because you trust him and you may be just a tiny lil bit infatuated

when he does tell you everything about him, he prefaces it so seriously and grimly that you think he will say he doesn't want to see you anymore

instead, he sullenly tells you about his life, ending with an apology for not telling you sooner

"i was just so scared you would run away"

you tell him that you wont run away and surprise him when you throw your arms around him and kiss him

he is honestly so whipped for you oh my god

if crispin is free, he will always drop you off and pick you up from school/work

he brings you to meet his family, basilio, alexandra, hank

they accept you as part of the family, and you immerse yourself in their library, reading up information about their lives

whenever they finish a case, you would be there, having cooked nice, warm meals for them

crispin would come up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder

he would whisper, "thank you for taking care of us" and presses kisses on your cheek down to your neck

you dont go out with them on a case, even if you want to (you and crispin fight over this, but he simply insists that he cannot lose you or even see you hurt)

he keeps his words of affirmation and affections as private as possible

basilio and hank tease him a lot if he tries to show any affection towards you with them present, and it bothers him at first

but you just laugh it off, ignoring the "uyyy" and other teasing remarks

basilio laughs when he sees his twin relaxing against you on the couch, crispin's head laid on your lap, "who's cheesy now?"

to this, crispin laughs before looking up at you and kissing your hand

he whispers "i love you against your skin"

i would say that compared to basilio and his s/o's relationship, your relationship with crispin is a lot more serious, more mature

kinda have the husband-and-wife vibe even though you aren't married yet (but you both know that this will happen eventually)

crispin knows that you are the one, and is hell bent on keeping you happy and safe

secretly looks up "perfect proposal ideas" when he realizes one night just how much he loves you

always has you in his arms when you're asleep, the sound of your heartbeat, and the feeling of your breath against his skin reminding him just what he is fighting and living for

he is fighting and living for you, and the future you two are going to share

basilio

the younger and more mischievous of the two, it didn't surprise everyone that basilio is the last person to realize his love for you

he met you shortly after being adopted by carlos trese, you were a family friend and possibly another babaylan from another city/province

came to the treses for a visit and was surprised to see new members of the family

you bonded with the twins almost instantaneously, becoming best friends with them

although everyone could see that you were closer to basilio than you were to crispin, mostly because of basilio's more laid back personality

absolutely thick as thieves with him, to a point where crispin would sulk and complain that you were stealing his lil brother from him

you would all play games until you were downright exhausted, from playing house, hide-and-seek, patintero (you try not to play catch with them bc you know they're gonna use their powers anyway) and the sad days were when you had to leave

you once had a tantrum as you clung to basilio, begging him to hide you from your parents so that they wouldn't bring you home

crispin and Alexandra had to pry you away from him, and he didn't talk to them for like 2 days after you left

as you two grew older, the games lessened and you focused more on training and battle strategies

but the closeness never left

you also kinda know that basilio cares for you, and to be honest, you wouldn't say no if he ever asks you out, but he never did and that's ok

outside of his family, you are his best friend and he loves you just as much as he loves his brother and sister

but it was obvious to alexandra and crispin that when you got older, something changed in the way basilio looked at you

he kinda looks at you just a little bit longer than usual, simple touches linger here and there, the slight overprotectiveness, the little acts of love

he brings you food ("we stopped by the carenderia and they had your favorite ulam")

brings you flowers ("where did you find these arabian jasmines/sampaguita?" basilio shrugs, "bought them on the way home." "he plucked them from aling josie's garden," Alexandra tells you as she walks past the two of you)

crispin tries to tell basilio that he should definitely ask you out, because it's so clearly obvious that you both like each other, but basilio tries to deny it

"torete ka bro, please just go ahead and tell her how you feel"

and basilio kinda sits on the idea, like literally has an existential crisis trying to figure out if he loves you romantically or just platonically

so he tries to imagine his future

he doesn't think much of it, thinking that this world is going to consume him long before he would have the chance to build a life anyway, but amidst the thought of death, he sees something

just a flash of light and sounds of laughter

it's you, carrying a young girl as you smile at him, standing just in front of the gate

and basilio thinks, that's such a nice vision, coming home to you

whenever he thinks of possibly settling down and having a family, it has always been with you

it has always been with you since you were kids, and now it's still you

so when he tells you he loves you during the most inappropriate time (fighting off aswang kidnappers), you grin at him and yell "I love you too!" back

and he removes his mask for a second before clarifying, "no y/n, I am in love with you!"

you grin at him again before exclaiming, "I know! i loved you since we were like 10"

after the fight, he doesn't hesitate to bring you into his arms and kiss you

you kissed his cheek when you were kissed, absolutely out of curiosity, and you were both like "ewww that's gross" but now it's not

it was perfect, like it was meant to be

unlike crispin and his s/o, you two are pretty chill about your relationship, kinda lowkey with it too

you don't talk about marriage (yet), and ppl who see you just think you two are either together, or just very best friends

you two are comfortable with each other and know each other from the inside out

the times where his cheerful personality changes is when it involves your safety, then he becomes so much like his brother, stoic and almost scary

will not ever compromise your safety over anything

basilio grew up with you, and now he plans to grow old with you

Tales from Grudgewill - Love of Our Lord Chapter 2

Here it is, maties. Yall waited long enough for this to go public, eh? Either way, third chapter is ready, but i still need to check it if there are some critical mistakes, just in case, yknow. Dont know when i will make fourth chapter.. probably this weekend, as i want to continue in it and include another love interests in it. Perhaps i will get drunk again tonight just to get inspiration like with the first paragraph. :P I also thank you all for the support on the first chapter, i love you all. Chapter II : A Long Boring Day

Valnin woke up from the dreamless sleep, but didn't open his eyes yet. He rolled on the right side of his bed, wanting to continue in his precious sleep, but he couldn't. He knew that he had a lot of responsibilities, and the kingdom wouldn't move a single step without him. He still felt overwhelmed despite the fact he was already ruling this kingdom for two years now, and yet, it was still too much on his shoulders, especially with all the recent events. All those runners from other provinces and the Empire itself were making him annoyed at best times. Sometimes, he had an inkling that he would just create that magic portal again and go back to the land where he came from. But it wasn't that easy, he made a deal with that damned Watcher that was surely eyeing him right now from the void, watching his every move. The Lord had no idea why it HAD to be him of all people who got to speak with an entity that has maybe even more power than the gods he knew from his world. "Oh, Azura. Why have you forsaken me, and left me to the Watcher's mercy?" He said in weak and tired voice. He wanted to curse aloud, but knowing it would interrupt his peace he still has, he rather did not. He sighed, continuing to think about this whole mess he got into. Valnin knew that his life was in danger back in Morrowind, and the only choices he had was taking that cursed offer. Of course he wanted to live when he barely lived one quarter of his life. Oh, how naive he was when he thought that he can finally enjoy his life more than he ever did now that he got a second chance. "Ruling a kingdom, heh. You've surely couldn't get me a worse job than this." He scoffed quietly. Nevertheless, he finally opened his eyes. He immidiately covered his face before the sunlight that was shining into his pale visage. He then rubbed his eyes, so he could see clearly. He was just sitting there for a while, thoughtless, scanning his room. It was funny to him, he slept countless nights in this very room, and yet, he still sometimes paused and curiously watched the room. It felt like it wasn't really his own, despite the fact was that this whole castle was his, and he still couldn't believe it. To him, it almost felt like he became a ruler yesterday when realized how much he still has to learn. The Lord finally woke from the trance, and got out of bed in slow motion. His bare feet touched the wooden floor, not too cold, not too warm, it's tempeature was just fine. He stood up, feeling kind of broken from that endless sitting in his throne. Valnin looked into the mirror he had right next to the bed, studying his own reflection. The first thing he noticed, like always, is how wild his hair is looking after every night. No wonder though, his black hair was reaching almost the lowest part of his back. He sometimes thinks about cutting it, but then he always says to himself, that it is not that long yet... For Elf at least. His eyes then fixed on the overall look of his. All that he had on him, was just those black "pants" he was always wearing for sleep, which left top of his moderately muscular, light blue body completely revealed in its full beauty. He sighed on the sight of those Telvanni paints on his upper body, realizing that he still missed his world a lot. "Oh, to Oblivion with you, Watcher" He said to himself, hoping that his "rescuer" was listening right now.

Lord Valnin was sitting in his throne, wearing his usual fancy robe, waiting for runners, people to be judged or someone who needed help with something. Three hours had already passed, and yet so far, only one runner came today, which was odd to Valnin, since most of the days were just endless talking to someone, judging or helping somebody. Today was calm however. Way too calm. Valnin had his suspicions that maybe there are closed borders because of the plague. Empire has history of being careful, so they probably ordered a strict traffic by putting dozens of patrols on every possible way to Icestand. The option sounded a little bit harsh, but it was possible with the state this province is currently in. Nevertheless though, he enjoyed the peace he had been thirsting for the day before. He waited five, then ten minutes. Nothing. He was getting more and more bored by every minute that passed. In the meantime, he was scanning the throne room, sometimes playing with his hair or checking his nails. "Well, I've waited enough." He said to himself. He got up from his throne and turned to his protector who was standing by his side the whole time "You stay here, my loyal servant. If something happens, I'll be in gardens." the guard just nodded but stayed quiet, his face not moving one bit, as if he was made of stone. Valnin smiled at him, and was on his way.

The gardens were were one of Valnin's favorite places in his whole castle. The sweet smell of all the fruit trees and bushes was like a harmony to his nose. He could spend hours in this place: relaxing, taking a walk or even just doing nothing. The Lord was softly smiling the whole time as he slowly strolled through this beautiful place. It was like a magic. A magic that calmed his soul, and with the light wind caressing his face and of course the wonderful smell... he was feeling numb, but in a good way. However, something caught the corner of his eye. When he took a look into the gazebo, he noticed that there was someone fighting. He took a closer look, and it was no one other than Master Assassin Vallinor training her young human student. Curious, he got close enough, so he could see it fully but without interrupting them. He leaned against one of the pillars that was serving there as a decoration. He barely managed to register everything that was happening; the Student was quick with his moves, trying to dodge or block every attack from his Master, however Vallinor was even faster than him. The poor boy didn't stand a chance, and yet, he continued to fight bravely, even though he was slowly losing. His chaotic counter-attacks had almost no effect as the Master managed to dodge most of the attacks and parry the rest without issue and it was obvious that the student didn't know what to do to defeat her. The Lord couldn't help but to notice how smooth Vallinor's moves were... almost like a dance. Still, while the boy was way more clunky, he was holding his ground as he could. It was going like this for a good minute until the Assassin got to hit a strike which completely set the Student off-balance, and in the blink of an eye, Vallinor managed to grab him and do a foot sweep and the poor kid was on the ground. The Master held her blade close to the Student's face which seemed to made him freeze a bit. Her face then softened as she smiled "I must say, this time it was better, my young apprentice". She helped him on his feet again and once they both were finally standing straight, the difference in heights between her and the boy was evident. The Student was probably about 185-190cm, and Vallinor was nearly 240cm tall, a truly astronomical difference. Not to mention the looks... the Master was, according to her words, a human before. Until her former masters did change her into this... creature which only resembled human. Blue skin which was almost of the color same as Valnin's, glowing magenta eyes, sharp teeth which looked like little blades when she smiled, those strange markings on her head, unnaturaly long body which made her so tall and a voice that was hypnotising on one hand, but also creepy on the other. "So did I do well, Master?" The boy asked. The Assassin rose her head "You did good enough since the last time, Curnol. But you still need a lot of training.". The Student looked kind of disappointed, but then his Master gave him a sharp smile "You have what it takes to be a great swordsman in the future, my student. That inner fire which makes you the true warrior. And one day, with enough training, that fire will be strong enough to melt metal, and bright as the sun itself." A smile has shown on Curnol's sweat-covered face, it almost looked like he is going to shed a tear. But before anything else happened, Valnin has stepped forward. When Vallinor noticed her ruler approaching, she quickly dropped to one knee and her student did the same right after her. "My Lord. It is an honor to see you here." The Assassin said with sincere tone. Valnin smiled "The honor is mine, lady Vallinor". Vallinor got up again, so did her apprentice "What can I do for you, Lord Valnin?" she asked. The Lord's smile never left his face "Well. It is more of a... personal matter, Master Assassin." The Master nodded and turned to her student "Curnol, get some rest, you've earned it. Just don't forget we will be training again tomorrow." "Of course, Master." Curnol said while bowing, and then left.

Lord Valnin and Master Vallinor were standing in the gazebo, side by side, talking while looking into the snow land of Icestand as the gazebo was in pretty high position. They were like that for an hour, yet it felt like just 10 minutes to Valnin as he was enjoying this little yet long conversation between him and Vallinor. The Master was smiling all the time while talking to Valnin, sometimes wide enough to reveal her sharp teeth. She felt relaxed when she was near her Lord, almost as if Valnin had some magical aura around him, unlike her previous masters, her own "parents" who created her, who pretended that they had love for her, no, this was way different. Her new Lord was kind, honorable, good-hearted and even somewhat attractive. However, she couldn't say anything like that in front of Valnin, as she was shy to admit any of it. Either way, she was mostly talking in this case, Valnin was just listening to her, nodding here and there while looking into the distance. "... And so, my brother, Tessura, drank six shots of local strongest alcohol. You cannot imagine how noisy he was, your Lordship." She said with a slight smirk on her face. The Lord was surprised to hear all these little stories about her and her brothers, and it made him feel like they really WERE humans before "I see. So your brother did win the bet?". Vallinor smiled yet again "He did, but he was too drunk to actually remember that it was a bet, so he didn't get the coin nevertheless." They shared a moderate laughter, the combined sound of Assassin's raspy voice and Valnin's strong yet soft tone was slightly echoing in the chilly air of this frozen land. Then the laughter stopped, and there was a quite long moment of silence between them, the only sound that could be heard was the wind flowing calmly through the leaves of trees and bushes in the garden. Lord Valnin then broke the silence "I'm proud to have you as one of my masters, Vallinor. You and your brothers are making excellent examples for your students." The Assassin felt more than flattered, she felt honored which made her blush slightly "I thank you, Lord Valnin. It is an honor to serve under you and to have an apprentice of my own". Then her face morphed into expression of concern "Also I do not want to doubt your judgement, your Lordship, but my brother, Tessura, is not very good example with his behavior sometimes.". Valnin just smirked "He is special, my good lady. It is making him more human than he thinks.". The Master looked at him with a slight confusion, and the Lord continued "Which reminds me, my dear Vallinor... were you and your brothers truly humans before your previous Lords transformed you into this?". She sighed, and nodded "Indeed. At least my two brothers remember being human, I, however... do not remember anything from my previous life. It sometimes feels like I was truly just created by the False Gods.". Valnin didn't know what to say for a second, but then his iconic smile came back to his face again "Perhaps you were human, perhaps not. However, it does not change anything about that you are one of the best warriors, both cunning and beautiful.". Vallinor felt her heart skip a beat when she heard that last word. Did her own Lord really just call her beautiful? She never heard such compliment from anyone besides her big brother, but that was just a sibling love, this on the other hand felt like an actual love... but maybe she was just overthinking it, Lord Valnin is known for his kind words after all. "Once again, I am deeply honored to hear this from you, my Lord." She said while bowing. Valnin nodded while smiling as brightly as the sun of this planet. "Well then, if there is nothing else, I will be on my way agai-" Before he could finish the sentence, Vallinor quickly grabbed his arm with such might that Valnin even got scared for a second. "No, please..." She whimpered. Realizing what she did, she quickly got her hand off Valnin's arm. She then started to apologize in stuttering manner "I-I deeply apologize, my Lord... I-I... I just reacted and-" Valnin quickly stopped her "You do not need to apologize, Vallinor. I admit, I got a little bit scared at the moment, but I do not blame you for doing so.". "I should be more careful with my actions, your Lordship. I am really sorry for what I did, it was a reflex, I swear." She continued in her apology, her face one big look of concern. "Once again, I do not blame you, dearest Vallinor... however, I must ask, what was the real reason behind it?" Valnin curiously asked. The Assassin started to blush deeply, her blue cheeks turning bright purple, her eyes focusing on everything but Lord's blood red eyes. She had absolutely no idea how to say it in some professional way, but she couldn't care less for that right now, she just wanted to be honest with Valnin "Your Eminence, I want to confess to you. You keep saying amazing things to everyone, but you're the real one who deserves compliments the most, my Lord. I must admit, at first I was worried that you are going to be like my previous Masters and I was skeptical about this whole thing of starting a new life. Instead though, I got life I've always thirsted for; Living happily with my dearest brothers, having a free will, a Master who would be fair and kind, and even having a student of my own. I got all of this just because of you, Lord Valnin. There is barely anyone else I would want to serve under more than you.". This reminded Valnin of last evening, and he couldn't help it. Jaal's speech was more than sweet, but this one felt more honorable. Still though, both were good with words, and he already couldn't choose between his dear Captain or this charming Assassin. "So... you do feel something towards me~" Valnin said with bit of a flirty tone. Vallinor froze on a place where she stood, blushing ever so brightly that it almost hid the blue under it "Does that mean...". "Yes, dearest Vallinor. You passed my little test." The Lord said. "A... A test?" The Master asked, thinking about what that meant. "Indeed. A test to determine if you care for me" Valnin said happily. Vallinor stayed quiet, her magenta eyes obviously full of questions. "But... I do not kno-" She was interrupted by her Lord again "Do not hide your emotions, Assassin. It is clear as this day that you have eyes for me~" He told her with playful voice. She still had no idea what to think about all this. Her own Lord caring about her more than just a soldier or friend? On one hand, it was a big shock for her that someone like Valnin would care for her, on the other though, she was more than happy inside, knowing that someone truly loved her, it almost made her cry if she would not hold the tears back. Valnin was smiling as always, feeling happy that she was happy. He hugged her, and she hugged him back. Despite the fact the Lord barely reached Vallinor's chest, it was still a lovely sight. "Os e ohth." Valnin said. Vallinor didn't understand him, but she liked what he said nevertheless, it felt so mystical, mysterious and magical. When they released each other, Valnin started to speak again "Well, now I really need to go, but do not worry, my lady... I will be back.". Vallinor planted a kiss on his forehead "I am looking forward to it, my Lord.".

The day has flowed like a river. Today was a very boring day for Valnin, as barely anybody came. He was enjoying the peace, however, it was still suspicious to him. Almost every day was full of talking with runners from other provinces or the Empire, judging the people who have commited a crime or just dealing with servant's matters around the castle.Today however, was barely active, and all that Valnin had to do, was dealing with one runner from the Second Kingdom of Icestand and... that small precious moment with Master Assassin. The Lord was daydreaming almost whole day, thinking about Captain Jaal and Master Vallinor. However... there were still others who he did not encounter yet this week. Azura knows if they will share the same feeling. He honestly had hoped that they will not, as it would make this easier for him, but he also couldn't deny to himself that he felt something for them, and the feeling always gets on top when he is near those he seeks to be in love with. His head already was making the scenarios of what could happen if it all worked out. Some people would call it insanity to love six people at the time, but Valnin did not care much for judgement of the others who did not experience such thing. He always believed that if someone wants to do something to make them happy, then as long as it does not hurt anybody, they should do it no matter if it will be odd to others. As Valnin looked around the throne room, he realized he might check on his dear Captain, assuming he is still awake.

The Lord was wandering through the right wing of the castle with his hands behind his back. He liked walking through his castle at night, there was such a peace in the air, like he was there completely alone in the whole building, and the dim lights from the torches were adding to the peaceful atmopshere. It surely was not as good as the gardens, but for head clearing, it was good enough. As he approached to the Jaal's office, he straightened his hair a little, so he would look at least more normal, but he could not really control it, the hair had almost life on its own with how long it is. "By Azura, I swear I will cut this blazed hair one day." He cursed under his breath. He then knocked on the door, patiently waiting for the response. As he was waiting, he realized that the hair probably does not matter that much, because after all, Angara do not have hair... who knows, perhaps he likes it this way. He sighed when he realized that he was thinking about something completely irrelevant again, but it is still easier to get lost in his own head than doing actually what he has to do. Then he focused on the door again... no response. It was impossible that Valnin would not hear it, and even with his thoughts constantly interrupting him, he would've heard it since he has good ears, not to mention that if the Captain would notice that the door would not open, he would check it himself most probably. So, it is how Valnin thought it would be. The Captain is already asleep. "N'chow... Just my blazed luck." He said to himself. He wasn't sure what he is going to do now... Jaal was asleep, and knowing Vallinor, she was definitely asleep too during this hour. The Lord sighed as he was about to leave to his chambers. Then he paused when he saw a weak light coming from the room at the end of the corridor. "Wait... was this door opened when I got here?" Valnin asked himself quietly. He wasn't really sure if they were or not, therefore his main attention was somewhere else those few dozens of seconds ago. He got one step closer, then another, curious if there was actually someone there. When he was just one step from the door, it was just quiet, like there was no one there after all. "Perhaps someone forgot to blow out the candle..." he thought. That however changed when his eyes caught a glimpse of someone sitting on the other site of the table the candle was on. Valnin thought his heart jumped into his throat for a moment, but he did not move at all, as he was frozen on the place he was standing on. "Did we got lost in our own castle, Valnin?" The person said. The Lord immidiatly recognized the voice. It was Evfra de Tershaav. The Commander of the Royal Security. As he spoke, he shifted forward in his chair, so Valnin could see him clearly... at least part of him. His blue, bitter face was recognizable at first glance from other Angara men. Valnin already could see the judgement in Commander's eyes. He knew that Evfra was a closed person, and sometimes even cold from what Jaal has told him... which made him one of the best leaders. Still though, just his presence was already making the Lord feel somewhat uneasy. "Oh, no I did not, my loyal Commander." Valnin quickly responded. Evfra just answered with bitter "Hmph.". Valnin was getting slightly nervous from that response. "Tell me, Valnin... What was your original purpose here?" Evfra asked almost coldly. The Lord was getting more and more nervous by Evfra's every word, he then answered with slightly shaky voice "W-well, I just wanted to vi-visit Captain Jaal and-" Evfra then interrupted him "I know why too well, 'Lord' Valnin. You are seducing my best soldier." the Commander said slightly angrily while crossing his arms. Valnin started to feel really anxious. It was only three sentences, but each of them did hit like a dagger to the stomach. "You didn't think I would let that slide, did you?" The Commander continued. "B-but... I could not-" The Lord was trying to defend himself but Evfra interrupted him again "Don't even try. I bet you do not even know why I am angry at you.". This made Valnin freeze again, as he was quickly scrolling through his mind what was this about. He then ended up wide-eyed as he realized what was going on. By Azura, how could he forget about this? "Wait, don't tell me you are angry because-" He then stopped mid-sentence as he saw Evfra slowly nodding. "I thought you wanted to be with me, considering what all you did for me, Valnin." Evfra said with a sign of sadness in his voice. "Not to mention you even fell for that... woman, Vallinor." The Commander continued in his speech. Valnin then looked at him with horror in his eyes "How did you get to know this?". "Two years, and you still don't know that word travels too fast here, Valnin?" Evfra gave him a look of disapproval. Valnin thought for a minute, then he sighed "Well... we can still make this work, dearest Evfra". Evfra looked at him with unbelieving eyes ".... Are you serious? With Jaal and Vallinor in our way?". The Lord tried to smile "They do not have to be in our way necessarily. I can make time just for you~". The Commander frowned "Do you really think that would work now, Valnin?". Valnin tried to get a little closer to him, just so they could see eye to eye "It could. Just trust me, please.". Evfra's eyes fell down for a moment "Hmph. You know too well that you are probably the only alien person I would trust if anything.". Once Valnin got close enough so he could at least see into Evfra's eyes properly, he putted his hands on the table, his left hand not far from Evfra's "I know. Just know that I don't want you to feel uncomfortable, if you simply do not want to because of others being in my life aswell, then don't do it.". Evfra sighed deeply "I am not really sure with anything in this world, but you... you are different, jetevre.". A smile has finally appeared on Lord's face "I hear that a lot. But from you, it sounds so warmly, that it could melt an ice~". Evfra's lips seemed to have shifted into a slight smile until he got to talk again "Just... don't expect me to be like this in public, dibellen.". "I will not, Commander. You have my word on it." Valnin said with confidence in his voice. Evfra was looking at him, no longer with that death stare, but with affection, even when it could be barely recognizable in his face, since he couldn't really move it because of that uncomfortable-looking scar across the whole left part of his face. Evfra did not say anything, he just slowly reached for Valnin's hand with his own. They were like that for a while... just looking into each other's eyes, holding hands... Until the Lord said "I should go now. I will catch you later though, Evfra. Good night.". The Commander was just sitting there wanting to wish him back, but all he could at the moment, was kissing Valnin's hand. Valnin blushed as Evfra did let his hand go. "Now go. You need that sleep far more than you think." The Commander said with a warm voice. The Lord smiled at him as he was leaving, and then closed the door behind him. Evfra sighed one more time, hoping that this will really work as his Lord said. And with that final thought, he finally blew out the candle.

How did you get your biggest scar? Only have one scar, it's on my left forearm on the inside. When I was really young I climbed up my aunts fence cause she was talking to her neighbor and she yelled at me to get down and it cut my whole arm. Now it's just a small scar cause obviously my arms grew but yeah lol

What did you do today that made someone else happy? Nothing I barely spoke to anybody today lol it's also 10:40 am lol

Do you know The 4400? Its a show where, over the last 50 years, there have been 4,400 specific disappearances. In the modern day, a ball of light is on a collision course with earth. Before it crashes it slows down, then in a bright flash it deposits all 4,400 of those people. Not one of them has aged a day since their initial disappearance. By all accounts, they were just at the spot and time of their disappearance mere moments ago, even though many occurred decades previously. They’re held for 6 weeks by the government before its determined that they and their families have the right for them to be freed, on the condition that they return for weekly check-ins. Interestingly, after their reappearance, the 4400 begin to display supernatural abilities....

My friend @albino-pony suggested this au! Its one I’ve gotten really into even though I’ve only ever seen the first episode of the show. I’m not entirely sure how to format this so its interesting, but I figure that if you clicked on the readmore and you’re still reading, then you’re ok with some info dumps. So here’s these boys individual timelines. TW For era typical homophobia and racism.

Katsuki

Mitsuki was born in 1914 in Japan’s Aomori prefecture. She was born with albinism, giving her blonde hair and blue eyes. In 1928 Mitsuki immigrated with her family to the United States at age 14, where they were processed at Angel Island, and moved into San Francisco shortly thereafter. She, her parents, and older brother all got jobs as soon as they could. In 1932, amidst the Great Depression, she met Masaru Bakugou and married him in the spring of 1934.

In 1936 Masaru and Mitsuki had their first child, a boy who inherited her albinism, and named him Katsuki. They do their best to provide for him, but it's the Great Depression and they're immigrants who only speak English so well. They scrape by, providing for their boy as best they can. They normally leave their son in the care of an Inko Midoriya, a fellow Japanese immigrant who is being supported by her fairly successful husband.

Then in 1939, things are stabilizing again. Life is getting easier. They still work themselves to the bone but they don't go to bed starving so their growing son can have his best chance. In 1940 life is pretty good. Katsuki's four years old. Mitsuki has a job as a seamstress, and Masaru has an office job. Life is looking up.

December 7th of 1941, Pearl Harbor is bombed. Americans die. Masaru and Mitsuki are scared about the possibilities of war and what it could mean for their little one. But they decide to do their part and work as hard as they can for their new home, because they're Americans, and they love this country and the hope it holds for their son.

February 1942, the Bakugous are detained and put in a Japanese Internment camp in southern California, where they spend the next three years. Katsuki is five years old when they’re forced out of their home, and he remembers the train ride. He remembers his father holding him as they walked. He remembers the cold. He remembers the three coldest winters he ever felt, and he remembers the burning blazing heat of the three hottest summers he ever endured. He remembers the scorching desert of Manzanar. He remembers the stuffy air of the tight quarters. He remembers.

September 1945, The Bakugous finally leave Manzanar. They’re among the last to go. They go home to San Francisco and try to move on. Katsuki is nine years old. His parents are disturbed at how bad anti-japanese sentiment has gotten in the time they were at Manzanar. Mitsuki finds an old magazine in a waiting room with an article on how to tell Japanese people from Chinese. Masaru is spat on and called various racial slurs. They're terrified for their son, and do their best to shield him from it. When Inko Midoriya’s husband is killed only a few blocks away because he was Japanese and his murderer talked about how his brother was killed in action by them, Mitsuki doesn't let her son play outside anymore.

December 1945, Mitsuki realizes she’s pregnant again.

September 19th, 1946, Tsubaki Bakugou is born.

February 27th, 1947, Tsubaki Bakugou dies of whooping cough at four months old, her family lacking access to the vaccine. Katsuki is eleven years old, and is the one to find her body after his mother asked him to check on her.

June 1947, Mitsuki pays closer attention to her remaining child, terrified of losing him too. She gets worried. Mitsuki starts to notice how fond he is of his friends, and how little he seems to care about girls.

1948, She starts to worry about the way he looks at other boys and the movie stars of his favorite pictures. She asks him one night if he likes boys better than girls, and when he says yes she cries and tells him that he has to learn to like girls, and that liking boys is bad and he can't do it anymore. She doesn't let him go to the cinema anymore, and doesn't let him go out at all with his friends unless Izuku is there with him, because she knows Izuku will tell his mom if anything weird happens, and that Inko will tell her. She doesn't tell Masaru.

1949, When Katsuki is 13, Mitsuki and Inko talk, and they end up sending both of their sons to military school. Inko hopes it will help her son to stand up for himself, and Mitsuki hopes it will teach Katsuki discipline and order. It helps Izuku. It tames Katsuki's attitude toward adults, but his treatment of the other kids only gets worse. The only thing he learns there is how to pretend.

1952, Katsuki is 16, he's visiting home. He fights with his mother. They call each other all manner of horrible things. He tells her he never wants to see her again. She tells him thats fine, and to go. Katsuki goes for a walk to clear his head.

He never comes home.

Eijirou

Eijirou is born on October 16th, 1970 in upstate new york. His timeline is shorter than Katsuki’s because I dont know as much about 70s/80s culture in new york that would have affected a young japanese american man, so theres only a few really important events in his life that I know for sure of.

July 28, 1982 - Eijirou is 11 years old and sees Queen live on their Hot Space Tour in NYC, and it blows his fucking mind. It instills in him a love of music, and whenever he needs to psych himself up for something he listens to those songs and remembers that energy.

1984 - He comes out as gay to his parents and is kicked out. He takes a bus to the city and ends up being embraced and taken care of by some members of the punk scene and NYC gay communities.

1985 - The man who took care of Eijirou, Taishiro Toyomitsu, better known by his stage name Fatgum, dies of HIV related complications.

1986 - On his way back to the shitty apartment he shares with his bandmates from a concert they were a part of, Eijirou stops to pee in an alley way or something, and disappears in a flash of light.

When the 4400 appear back on earth in the modern day, many experience small physical changes. For example, Eijirou and Katsuki have red eyes, and Izuku’s hair is slightly green. Todoroki’s hair is half white, and half red.

My wavemate, My crush pt. 1

“It started on our first day of work”

I’ve always been a hopeless romantic ever since i had a crush back in my elementary days. Whenever i have a crush, i am always trying hard to let them know that i have a crush on them by looking at them always. I am swinging both ways, i tend to like boys and lesbians or bisexual girls (my mom do know that i had a crush on lesbians back then).

So going back to the present, I was hired in this company where my college friends are working, they told me to go there because i just resigned on my previous company which is a BPO as well. During our first day of work, i had my eyes on this someone which until now i still have a crush. She’s a lesbian.

At first i was actually a bit hesitant because it might be just a crush at first sight but the feelings went deeper than i expected. I was planning to forget about here until one day (December 16 to be exact), she actually pmed me on messenger saying that she wants to talk to me via call which is absurd. We never talked in person since i am awkward at her, just her in our wave.

At first, i actually told her that i don’t have any earphone working so i cant talk to her via call, just so you know, i hate talking on phone not using earphones, it sucks. But she keep on insisting that it’ll just take a few minutes. So i decided to allow her even if i don’t have earphones with me.

During the first topic of our call, she asked me where i was staying and such thing. The conversation goes like this (well not all is accurate though because that was like a few weeks ago)

Her: Where do you go home?

Me: *gives the train station that i always drop to*

Her: Where exactly is that, i didn’t know there is such station.

Me: *insists that it exist*

Her: Who are you with right now?

Me: My dad, my mom went to province.

Her: Tell your dad to drink medicine for cough (because she heard my dad coughing on the background)

And it goes on. She kept on asking me who is my crush and i replied to her jokingly “you”. At first she just laugh so i thought that i’ll just tell it to her jokingly even if it’s the truth.Sadly, someone arrives at home that i needed to hang up our call. Our call ended after 14 minutes. That Saturday, the day i decided to forget about her and decided to still have a crush on her right after our call. Even her laugh that night still lingers in my ears.

Monday came, I went to work and saw her. Just like the same old days, we didn’t talked to each other. It was weird because i thought she will talk to me because we sound so close to me that night. I awkwardly talked to her because she is quite close to one of my friend. She told me that she’s very drunk that night and she didn’t remember what we talked about.

That hit me like a lightning.

To me it was very meaningful but to her, it’s just a thing that she did while she’s drunk.

By the way, she have a crush at one of our wavemates, at first i thought it was me though, i’m such a hopeless romantic, i know. Because there are things that made me point at my fingers.

First, when i was busy writing the late on our wavemates. I heard her saying that her crush is busy, it turned out that i am busy and her real crush is busy talking to someone on phone. Another thing is when we’re on our way to the terminal, my friend asked her who her crush is and she said “I’m not gonna tell, she might be here”. Third one is i’m the only one she doesn’t talk much with. I know, i expected so much, i got disappointed big time.

Okay going back....Days passed by, we only talk on messenger like we’re really close but not talking personally in our office. We tend to have deep talks and such.

One time, i told her that my real crush is her because she kept on insisting. She keeps on commenting on my repost about my crush so i decided to tell her.

One time on December 18, we and some of my wavemates are having fun and then she suddenly called me and told me that someone is having a crush on me, i disregarded it.

Since i am used to us talking on messenger, i kept on waiting for her reply and decided to fake that i accidentally clicked the like button and she replied. We even talked about her family and mine. We have a lot of things that we talked about.

There was one time that she told me that she’s living alone and her mom lives at the province, i pitied her so i decided to cook something and bring more for her. I even jokingly told her that i’ll put some love potions on it and she said “Sure”. I gave her the food because she is eating with her crush. After that day, i bring more food so i can share with her. We ate together that day because her crush isn’t there.

I even saw her posting on myday a photo of her and her crush (now the girlfriend) and with a heart. Same with her girlfriend she posted one, it made me jealous one time big time.

December 23, i decided to get my hair done and i changed the color into red, i decided to do it to move on from her.

December 24, we have a morning shift so we wont have a hard time going home for Christmas even. I came inside our room with my earphones on, i am so awkward because i really told her that i have a crush on her. The sound of my earphone is really loud so i cant hear any of them inside the room, but i know she, her crush and her crush’ friend is there at the back of our room. When the song i am listening to ended, i heard her crush’ friend saying “There’s someone who have a crush on you in our wave right?” the moment i heard that, i knew that she told them that i have a crush on her, i felt betrayed.

I just let it flow. Ignoring her, she didn’t even talk to me that much. And i can see that she and her crush is already together because of their clingy-ness and sweetness on each other. It’s unofficial, i just expected it to be like that but i never heard it from anyone. It was actually sad for me but i kept on fighting it. There are times i am not even in the mood to eat.

December 24, Christmas eve, i was singing with my brothers and decided to post it on messenger, she just keep on seeing the videos and such but not talking to me. I chatted her to ask if she’s dating with her crush already but i’ve got no answer. 11 pm strikes and i decided to send her a long ass message. She just reacted an emoji with a heart and no response. She response to me in the morning saying she fell asleep already.

December 25th, i’ve got a greetings from her and nothing else. It getting more awkward already but i am still expecting that she will at least talk to me, but no.

During one of our chats, she asked me to have a drink with her and a friend, i said yes but when i sent her that long ass message, it got awkward. She doesn’t talk to me that much so i thought that maybe the invitation would be disregarded already.

Our salary day came, she asked me if i will still go but my friends already decided to eat on a buffet so i told her i cant go. It’s for my own anyway, i don’t wanna bond with her that much because i want my feelings to fade away.

December 29. She left on our gc, i was hella curious so decided to pm her. She told me that she fought and broke up with her girlfriend. I was more than happy but then, not really. She sounds so frustrated because her girlfriend did something that is really absurd. She even told me that they’re dating since December 22. I was in full shock because i even sent her a message during the 25th like whut.

She asked me to have a drink with her but it’s raining that time so i refused to go which is until now, i am sorry for myself. She even told me that she wont go to work anymore so i did everything to stop he from doing that. I told her that i’ll give a gift or i’ll perform during our year end party but she refused to accept. She got quite busy during the night and i even asked her if she’s free on the next day but she said nope.

On Sunday, i talked to her again and asked if it’s a final decision, i even told her jokingly that she wont be able to see me perform. She said that she’ll go to work because she wants to watch me, i am really happy because i feel special. But it turned out that they got back together, i am stupid right?

December 31, our year end party. When i came in, she’s still not there but her girlfriend is so i thought, maybe they’re still not getting back together. She arrives and keeps on saying to her friend “Where’s the gift you promised me?” which is actually for me because i promised her. I was with my friend when she asked me to have a photo with her. I was actually surprised because we never had a photo together yet. She took it, her hand is actually trembling which is funny so i told her i’ll take it for her, but I AM TREMBLING AS WELL.

She were in front of me when i told my friend to take a photo together but she went to us saying that she wants to join so i took a photo of the three of us. I was really happy that time but that ended real quick when her girlfriend performed and she said “I’m so embarrassed for you”. I was like “They got back together”.

It even gets sadder when we’re about to eat, they went to get the food together, eating beside each other and they even took a photo together. For short, they’re very sweet to one another.

Our party ended, i was frowning the whole time, each and everyone is greeting one another and hugging each other. She was in front of me and i jokingly told her “Happy new year” and i even leaned a bit but we’re on our way out so i just went out of the room. She called me and said “Okay let’s hug”. I was about to hugged her but we both leaned on the same direction which made us almost kissed. I was embarrassed big time, even some of our wavemates saw it as well as her girlfriend. But we still hugged of course. Both of us were actually speechless after that.

Why is it whenever i am deciding to forget about her, she’s doing something that will make me fall for her more?

holy noodles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HoH!!!! Me and my alliance NEEDED this omg. Rich and Daly have gotten themselves in a deep pile of doodoo being too vocal about pushing names, so being able to protect them feels good. Celina, I’m sorry but you had to go. With all of the news of side on the other side of the house and pre-gaming and knowing each other before hand, newbies like me don’t stand a damn chance!!! I am fucking FUMING!! MEGA FUCKING FUMING!!!!!! SO many people lied to me about this vote when they literally didn't have to??????? I have almost no connection to both of the nominees??? I didn't care who went it's just that people are already lying when I made it clear that I didn't care, but I'm not gonna blow up like Jacob did. He's burying his own game and I do not want to be associated with that or him. I did the exact opposite: I told everyone my thought process, why I voted Mazden out, and that I want to work with everyone in the future. For some people, I was being genuine like with Sara and the NFPS and Lana and Haley and basically every woman and Jared and Szymon (he already knew I was voting Mazden though). So the Zoo is officially extinct!!! There is no way that Jacob is going to work with Jakey or Daly ever again after tonight but for some reason he still believes I had nothing to do with it. All I can say is I’m in shock after tonight events. I was led to believe that the vote was going to be like half and half... And while I’m sad to see Celina go, I mean... I GOT TO STAY! I’m so so happy that the house decided to save me. I definitely had to do some catch up but I mean, I think it paid off! I feel good about this week, moving forward and I just hope to keep these good vibes going! 😊

So first off I'm not that shocked that Celina went home tonight, because the tide shifted that way late last night and a very determined group was gunning for her! I hate that I told her that I was going to keep her safe, but then had to vote to get her out. But the connections she had could come back to bite me in the end! As far as HOH...I'm okay with Sara winning. I think I am good with her, and I think I will be okay this round. But if not....then it's GAME ON!

Brianna and szymon are my everything they are my people and I am taking them to the end if I can like I don't think I'll actually make it but I'm gonna do everything I can to get there and tbh I'll even like die for them to rise if I have to I just love them so much. I trust Brianna with my life and she is always by my side and going through all of it with me and she's so amazing at this game. my bb szymon is so supportive and smart and he's sooooo good at working out the best thing to do and he's found himself in a great position. I DONT KNOW WHO TO TRUST besides Austin, sara, and rich. I like Szymon but he isn’t trusting, so I’m not truly sure how he even feels about me. I’m truly struggling to be nice to people who I think are crossing me. People are starting to tie me, rich, and Daly together and that is very concerning considering how strong minded players like rich and Daly are. I want to try and play low this week and hopefully distance myself from the boys to get the target off of my back

I can honestly say that The Marching Band is becoming a dominant force in this game! We have won back to back HOH competitions to start the season and we are sitting pretty! My only concern is we need to be a lot more careful of when multiple people in our four speak to people at the same time because people are slowly starting to connect the dots in this game that we may be working together in some form and if that gets out, multiple people will not trust me anymore

I don’t quite know how I feel about Daly in this game! No matter how hard I try to distance myself from him in this game, we keep getting grouped together in every way. I don’t know if he has my best interest in this game compared to Sara. I also find it super funny that nobody has really clued in on the fact that Daly and I live literally 2 hours from eachother and are from the same Province in Canada!

I like Mazden, but I’m nervous she’s too trusting of the boys. She really likes jakey and Daly. And I know daly is willing to throw me under the bus if he has to and if that gets back to him im fucked. I kind of lost it a bit today when I mentioned in the baddies that I think Daly is playing by making sly calls and not having anything in writing. I tried to cover it by saying it’s a game move and I’d like to work with him but we will see if those comments come back at me. I need to be careful with everybody right now. Not as much the band and not as much with Austin...but I don’t need to give future ammunition. I feel bad knowing rich and I have a final 2. Brianna winning the POV is amazing for my game!! Brianna puts a huge target on her back by winning the first and second POVs of the season. Sara now has to make a replacement nominee and get more blood on her hand and finally Jacob can finally get the hell out of this house. He already started going to Sara trying to get her to put me up but we all know she will never do that so time to get rid of Jacob!

Of course Brianna would use the veto on herself. Anybody would. BUT I am absolutely shocked I did so well in the veto. Yes, Lana threw it.. but there’s no way Jacob and Sara did. I knew everyone was voting Celina and lying to me about voting mazden because 3 people who trust me told me everything and even told me who was telling them the majority was doing Celina and who was spreading lies about an all women alliance and a pregame alliance - I watched as rich and haley lied to me so strongly more so than anyone and honestly how they approached it made me feel kinda ickyyyy and I don't like it!!! so not a fan rn. but I made a point of telling them I trusted them and what not so they would feel guilty!! afterwards they both came crawling to me and that was weird but exactly what I was expecting - as I knew I was gonna get "blindsided" I prepared exactly how I was gonna make this situation work for me and that included being super understanding laughing it off and saying omg this is fun!!! this is big brother and telling the whole vc daly told me the truth so they all know that he told them to risk their games by lying while being honest about his vote himself to save his ass!!! if I was them I'd be pissed!!! so I pointed that out innocently. Nirvana in Fire 2 Episode 3: Thoughts

I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to have watched 10 raw episodes but to slooowly wait for subtitles. :) But we are getting subtitles and that is cool enough!

Episode 3 is where we get some more action, and the start of a plot and an investigation by the cute smol that is Pingjing aka Divine Little Dragon (don’t ask). We also have a lot of new characters and a few new mysteries. SPOILERS ABOUND SO PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Last Episode:

In Episode 2, we saw Pingjing setting off to the seat of DaTong Prefecture to investigate how the Changlin Army’s supplies were cut off. Lin Xi is also sent by her master to support him, although she moves separately.

The person in charge of these supplies is a Senior Secretary/Minister Song Fu, who wanted to punish the Changlin army by delaying their supplies which were arriving by 3 military transport ships, all of which sank. Minister Song was shocked because he just wanted to cause a few issues, not sink the ships. However, since things have gone to shit- he has sent his personal assistant Mr.Qin to Datong to sort things out. And now, we continue:

Episode 3:

- We are now introduced to a couple of new characters: sickly Crown Prince Xiao Yuanshi, his worried mom Empress Xun and a weirdly super snakey-looking man with pretty hair and magical silver yo-yos, the High Priest Pu Yangying. The young prince magically gets up after Pu Yangying does some ball-waving incense thing, and the Empress Xun trusts him.

- From a conversation, we learn Pu was appointed by the Empress a while ago, and the ministers think he is not worth anything. He is said to be a sorcerer of the Baishen sect- the same religion the superstitious Southern Chu believe in (we hear about this in NIF!)

- Next, we are introduced to Private Assistant Qin of Minister Song (lets call him PA Qin) and Magistrate Zhang of Datong, who is Minister Song’s student and complicit in his affairs. However, PA Qin is introduced with a different blurb on screen - his real name is Duan Tongzhou. We will later learn that Duan Tongzhou is a mysterious martial artist, 4th on Langya Hall’s list but no one knows his background or who he is. I suspect he is masquerading as an innocent official under this Minister Song.

- Magistrate Zhang is extremely tensed (also a familiar face- he is Section Chief Liang from the Disguiser!) because an imperial envoy is on their way to investigate the case of the lost supplies. We learn that the day the 3 ships sank, there was a small passenger boat following it - who saw the whole event. The boat has physicians from Jifeng Hall (yup the same one as Lin Xi’s) who tried to save people. Zhang however ensured all witnesses died, but could not find 3 physicians+ 1 military boat captain which has put him in a snit.

- PA Qin suggests that Zhang try and search Jifeng Hall, which has a pharmacy+hospital in Datong and find these men and destroy evidence. Zhang has a Police captain named Qian do his bidding and raid Jifeng Hall.

- This chain of events has been spotted by an unknown foe however: meet Xiao Yuanqi, Marquis of Laiyang, the son of the Emperor’s brother who died very young. Yuanqi mysteriously came across the escaped boat witnesses and helped him - hid them in his manor. Yuanshi has beautiful hair and beautiful coats, and seems to be very noble and a man of leisure in the capital, out on a tour of the provinces. However, he tells his advisor something strange - that does he believe that indeed he is just a man of leisure? Knowing that Yuanqi will later be an antagonist, I smell that he is biding his time.

- Pingjing and Lin Xi arrive in Datong and find that the Jifeng Hall is closed. Pingjing initially thinks Lin Xi is following him, but she makes it very clear that her hall has also been affe ted and her Shifu has sent her to help Pingjing. They make their way over to a secret manor- which houses people from Jifeng Hall. They tell them the story of the disappeared physicians. The smols infer that the Local Government of Datong has their hands dirty. (Special appearance by the former Princess Liyang Zhang yan Yan as a nurse named Yun-jie! Much deja vu, muuuuch deja vu)

- The investigation begins! Pingjing wears a Fei Liu-like Ninja Outfit and heads over to Zhang’s house (STILL MY QUESTION WHERE IS FEI LIU?). However PA Qin/Mysterious Man Duan is there and detects Pingjing. They have a thrilling fight and Pingjing is blade to blade with him! Lin Xi arrives to save the day with some darts (yaaaay for cool girls!). However, another person spots them - Xiao Yuanqi, also lurking in secret.

- When Pingjing is back, they realise that one attack of PA Qin was strong enough to burn his clothing - this kind of energy is characteristic of the mysterious Duan Tongzhou! But who has the power to hire such a man? This conspiracy is deep, they realise. And then suddenly, Yuanqi leaps in and they meet - Pingjing and hin seem to be close!

- The next day, Yuanqi brings over Pingjing and Lin Xi to his manor, and they meet the witnesses. In the meantime PA Qin/Duan gets suspicious and asks evil policeman Qian to search again, discovering that Yuanqi’s manor was not searched. When they do, they dont find anyone because Pingjing has anticipated this and hidden everyone in a secret passage.

- The True story is revealed. Evil Policeman Qian, on behalf of Zhang, paid off one Military boat captain to turn his ship and block the following ships, and run them aground. However, to his horror, the ships sank instead of running aground and people started being murdered. The old man was saved by these physicians and they have been in hiding because they want to present the case to the government. On meeting pingjing, he reveals all this.

- By now, Zhang has destroyed all paper trails. But one thing he was not able to do is destroy the sunken ships, which were raised up By Zhang’s boss for any further investigations. PA Qin/Duan is now not very worried about the witnesses, because he has ways to discredit them - but the ships have some irrefutable proof. He rushes over to burn them.

- The smol detective squad has reached the same conclusion- and by the time they reach, two ships are burnt. However there is a third ship which is still sunken, and the old captain draws the location for them. Here is where we learn Pingjing is known as the Divine Little Dragon at Langya Hall because he can dive so well - and he is confident he can uncover some proof from the sunken ship. Lin Xi smiles for the first time, and Yuanqi bursts out laughing. Pingjing pouts, the adorable bub.

- So next, the map is being smuggled out from Yuanqi’s manor by Yun-jie from before, presumably to take to her own home where Pingjing is staying - while people spy on her from a distance.

- Meanwhile, Pingzhang and Tingsheng sit around a fire and discuss Pingjing’s mission. However dad and son know Little Dragon cannot do it alone - in fact, they have something planned right from.the start to support Pingjing. Hmmm…

Thoughts:

Nice episode! Decent pacing, not breakneck but definitely a lot of suspense, and so many new characters.

One very good thing about NIF2 is that when they introduce characters, they are doing it slowly and steadily, and using exposition to explain things well instead of NIF1 where we were inundated with characters in the first 2 episodes. For example, we are introduced to High Priest Pu, but the fact that he is disliked plus his background is revealed in another conversations which gives us dimension and history quickly.

The pacing is quite normal- not heart-stopping but definitely good - very similar to NIF. The aesthetics are good. Pingjing’s martial arts fight was also done well, and I LOVE Lin Xi’s quiet, cold strength. Martial artist and a doctor, cool!

Yuanqi is the most interesting character. He and Pingjing have this natural friendship which shows, however sometjing lurks beneath that calm exterior and rankles at me. I think the actor is doing a good job. (Those who watched Ode to Joy 2 will recognise him as the asshole boyfriend who wanted YingYing to be a virgin). But here is another person who will break poor PJ’s heart.

Also the last bit, we see Tingsheng and Pingzhang and THEY ARE SO GOOD. I am sorry I cant stop raving about the cute little Changlin Fam and how sweetly bonded and in sync they are.

Lastly, I am liking NIF2. I am not a live-watcher but I have made an exception for this show, of course! I cannot wait to see more of the sweet bro moments, the competent ladies as well as the plots that will unfold. Something tells me this show will be paced a little sedately- but then, hopefully it will live somewhat up to NIF.
