Book Genre Legacy Challenge

Hello! I've been playing the Sims for what feels like forever at this point, and the only way I ever manage to keep myself invested in the game is by playing legacy challenges. I kinda wanted to try my hand at making my own legacy challenge, so here it is!

The Sims 4 Book Genre Legacy Challenge!

Basic Rules: - Reach the end of each aspiration. - Reach level ten of career unless specified otherwise. - Cheats are allowed but try not to use them (only because they make gameplay less fun). - Reach level 10 of each set of skills given for each generation - Heir can be any gender unless specified.

I did my best to make this as Base Game compatible as possible, if you’re missing some packs and I didn’t offer an alternative just pick your own or skip it.

Gen 1: Classics

Colours: Blue and Brown Traits: Family Oriented, Dog Lover (BG: Neat), Art Lover Aspiration: Lord or Lady of the Knits (BG: Successful Lineage) Career: Start as Business but quit once you have kids Skills: Knitting and Parenting

You’ve been called an old soul all your life. Everyone always laughed at you for your simplistic dreams. You’ve always wanted a simple life. White picket fence, perfect partner, two kids, and a dog, maybe even a rocking chair to knit on. Who cares if you don’t have big career plans, at least you’ve got a family.

Rules: - Must have at least two kids - Quit your job once you have your kids. - Have a good relationship with all children. - Adopt a dog once your kids are toddlers. - Only have one romantic relationship and marry them before you’re an adult.

Gen 2: Western

Colours: Brown and White Traits: Bro, Rancher (BG: Hates Children), Loner Aspiration: Championship Rider (BG: Bodybuilder) Career: Athlete or no Job (Horse Ranch) Skills: Fitness, Horse Riding, and Guitar

You grew up in a picture perfect home. You were adored by your parents and lived the perfect life. But not everything was as great as it seemed. You learnt very quickly how mean children could be, as you were the youngest of the family and constantly picked on by your sibling(s). You moved out as soon as your were able to and bought the biggest piece of land you could find. Anything to get away from other people.

Rules: - Have a bad relationship with your sibling(s) - Move out as soon as you’re a young adult onto a plot of land - Buy a horse (if you have HR) as soon as you can - Have an unexpected child (one only) - Don’t move in with your partner until you know you’re having a child - Have a high relationship with partner and parents, no one else

Gen 3: Science Fiction

Colours: White and Green Traits: Geek, Socially Awkward (BG: Clumsy), Genius Aspiration: Computer Whiz Career: Astronaut Skills: Programming, Rocket Science, and Robotics

As an only child, you were taught to entertain yourself. Your parents had never enjoyed company, and hadn’t payed much attention to you growing up. You kept yourself busy, ignoring their silly western ideals and searching for a more captivating life in the stars. You found a passion in technology, and found numbers far easier to understand than people. Maybe there’s life out there better than the people you’ve met on earth.

Rules: - Build a rocket ship - Travel to Sixam and bring an alien back to earth with you (if you have GTW) - Marry the alien and have a kid - Never make friends - Don’t talk to your parents after you move out

Gen 4: Comedy

Colours: Green and Yellow Traits: Goofball, Self Absorbed (BG: Noncommittal), Outgoing Aspiration: Joke Star Career: Entertainer (Comedian Branch) Skills: Comedy and Charisma

Your parents always had their head in the stars, and being half alien you felt like an outcast as a child. You hated how hard it was to make friends and only wanted to be like everyone else. Once you reached a teenager however, you realized that if you tried hard enough and got everyone to like you, no one would even realize you were a little odd.

Rules: - Make a bunch of friends as a teenager, but never stay close with any of them - Host house parties once a week - Have at least three kids and have a good relationship with them all - Sever all connection to your alien parent after you move out

Gen 5: Contemporary

Colours: Yellow and Pink Traits: Ambitious, Snob, Materialistic Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy Career: Doctor (BG: Business) Skills: Logic and Painting

You grew up in a very loud family. Everyone was always laughing and there were parties almost every week. As a child you loved it, but as you got older you realized there were more important things in life than laughter. You decided to take a different route than the rest of your family. To you, there was nothing more important than success, other than money of course.

Rules: - Marry someone in the same career field as you. - Have a large house and hire a maid/butler as soon as you can afford it. - While your children are young, hire a nanny for them instead of sending them to daycare. - Have an over-the-top wedding. - Decorate your house with your own art (no one else makes art that is good enough for you)

Gen 6: Romance

Colours: Pink and Red Traits: Romantic, Good, Music Lover Aspiration: Soulmate Career: Entertainer (Actor Branch) or Acting (GF) Skills: Charisma, Acting, Piano or Violin

As a kid, you always felt like the outcast of the family. Your sibling(s) were super smart and seemed likely to follow in your parents successful footsteps, while you were always a little behind, more interested in making friends than success. You feel in love with romantic stories and tv shows at a young age, as everything always seemed to work out for the main characters. Your parents were a little cold and you barely saw them be affectionate with each other. As you got older you decided that the world needed a little more love.

Rules: - Must be a woman - Date as many sims as you want but don’t woohoo until married - Have at least two close friends and one best friend - Adopt a dog - Have a music room in your house

Gen 7: Horror

Colours: Red and Black Occult option: Vampire Traits: Gloomy, Perfectionist. Unflirty (BG: Hot-Headed) Aspiration: Villainous Valentine Career: Secret Agent (Villain Branch) Skills: Vampire Lore, Pipe organ or Piano, Mischief

Your mom drove you crazy growing up. Her insanely positive outlook on life made you laugh. You believed she’d just gotten lucky in her love life, there’s no way anyone else could achieve that sort of perfect romance. All that being said, you do love her with all your heart. But as the only official black sheep of the family, you made it your goal to make your family the complete opposite of the one you grew up in, staring with the worst career you could think of.

Rules: - Have a good relationship with your parents and invite them over for weekly dinners - Adopt a black cat -Partner should match your values - Don’t settle down until aspiration is complete

Gen 8: Fantasy

Colours: Black and Purple Traits: Loves Outdoors, Jealous, Creative Aspiration: Freelance Botanist Career: Gardener (BG: No Job) Skills: Gardening, Flower Arranging, Baking

You loved the whimsicalness of your grandmother when you were a child. If you had the choice you would’ve had her raise you instead of your own parents. Growing up in such a dark environment made you want to fill your own house colours. The one thing you and your parent do have in common however, is your twisted outlook on love, as you are constantly convinced that your partner is cheating on you.

Rules: - Have a good relationship with your grandmother - Have at least three partners before you find the one, and be the one to break up with them all - Have a greenhouse - Don’t have any kids until your grandmother dies - Have a rocky relationship with your spouse

Gen 9: Mystery

Colours: Purple and Grey Traits: Paranoid (BG: Loner), Loyal, Slob Aspiration: Master Mixologist Career: Detective (BG: Secret Agent, Diamond Agent Branch) Skills: Mixology, Photography, Charisma

You had a pretty normal childhood, aside from the occasional screaming match between your parents. Unfortunately you inherited one of your parents tendency for paranoia, and constantly think somethings out to get you. Instead of taking it out on your partner however, you take it out on the criminals in town, and the occasional drink. And hey you never know, maybe some criminals can be trusted.

Rules: - Have at least one drink a night after work (either at a bar or at home) - Marry someone in the criminal career branch (can be cheated) - Move houses at least three times (best to never stay in one place too long) - Never hire a repair service, fix everything yourself

Gen 10: Memoir

Colours: Grey and Blue Traits: Perfectionist, Ambitious, High Maintenance (BG: Creative) Aspiration: Best-selling Author Career: Writer (Author Branch) Skills: Writing

Growing up you loved your parents, but something about how much they drank always rubbed you the wrong way. You always liked things to be set up in specific ways and you hated the fact that your parents always left a mess. You spent a lot of time reading as your parents were too preoccupied to take much care of you. One day you find a bunch of dusty old books that appear to be about the older generations of your family, but it’s hard to make out. Annoyed by the lack of information about your family lineage, you decide you should be the one to write it all down.

Rules: - Have a complicated relationship with your parents - Publish 10 books, each named after a different generation. - Read 9 books prior to starting your writing (as research). - Have a library in your home

Sims 4 - UNDERTALE Legacy Challenge

I love The Sims 4. I love Undertale. You know what that means! The "Simdertale Legacy Challenge" :D

This is a ten generation challenge featuring themes based on fan favorite Undertale characters.

Typical legacy challenge rules apply. No cheats that give you an unfair advantage. Your sims do not have to be named after or look like the Undertale characters. Design them however you like!

This challenge is designed to be base game compatible, which is why some aspirations and career choices aren't right on the money for the chosen Undertale character (i.e. why the Mettaton gen is a style influencer instead of a celebrity, which is only available with the Get Famous pack. If you have that pack and want to go down that career path for Gen 7 instead, feel free!)

Generation 1: Asgore

You thought you were more than ready for a family. You married young, maybe too young, and welcomed the arrival of your children with high hopes for the future, but keeping the family together and in harmony turns out to be tougher than you imagined. Maybe tending a garden will be easier than tending to the little ones was. It’s just a different sort of “putting down roots” than you’d initially imagined.

Traits: cheerful, family-oriented, loves outdoors

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

Career: Part-Time Manual Laborer

Start as a young adult and marry as fast as you can

Sell plants from your garden on the side

Use the Tea Magic Personal Brewer at least three times a week

Have two children: one with your partner, one adopted

Have a strained relationship with adopted child

After your children disappear (move out as teens), change aspiration to Freelance Botanist and master it

Have an increasingly strained relationship with your partner, get divorced as an adult and never remarry

Maintain contact with blood child, no contact with adopted child

Generation 2: Flowey

You’ve always known you were meant for more than the quaint little life your parents had to offer. Tea and gardening day in and day out, pretending to be at peace? No, thanks! It’s you and your sibling against the world! You’ve been partners in crime from day one, so why not run with it? You may have inherited a green thumb but what you really want in your hands is the world.

Traits: ambitious, childish, mean

Aspiration: Public Enemy

Career: Criminal – Boss Branch

Upon reaching young adulthood, find a creative way to kill Gen 1

Have a strained relationship with your surviving parent

Have a good relationship with your adoptive sibling, who also enters the criminal career

Max out charisma and mischief skills

Reach level 5 gardening skill

Complete Public Enemy aspiration

Reach the top of the crime boss career

Befriend a good sim, have one child with them, and then become enemies

Generation 3: Grillby

Considering your parent’s mean streak and questionable career, you’ve tried to keep to yourself most of your life; you didn’t want to risk alienating people with your hot head the way they have. Sick of clashing with them over their life choices, you decide to burn bridges and start fresh, where you may have a chance of new, kinder people coming into your life. And what better to bond over than some good food by a warm hearth?

Traits: hot-headed, foodie, loner

Aspiration: Master Chef

Career: Culinary – Chef Branch

Live in a different world than Gen 2

Decorate your home with a fireplace in every main room and only one stereo. Run the stereo until it breaks and never repair it

Make at least three lifelong friends

Go to a bar at least once a week

Max out cooking, gourmet cooking and mixology skills

Reach the top of the master chef career

Adopt two children

Become friends with one or both children by the time they’re teens

Optional: develop and then overcome a fear of swimming

Generation 4: Sans

It would have been easier (and cozier) to live at home your whole life but your sibling was raring to get out into the world and you weren’t going to leave them alone out there. You’re good with people and that more than makes up for your lackluster work ethic. You’re sure you can charm your way into a job that doesn’t feel like work—and hopefully it’ll pay enough to back your one big passion: space.

Traits: lazy, goofball, loyal

Aspiration: Joke Star

Career: Entertainer – Comedian Branch

Move out with your sibling as a teen

Max out charisma, comedy and logic skills

Become best friends with an elder sim

Complete Joke Star aspiration

Reach the top of the comedian career

Collect at least five space prints from the observatory

Have your heir as a science baby

Buy a rocket ship and get your sibling to build it for you

Generation 5: Papyrus

Your parent would be content to live life flat on their back, sharing funny anecdotes with the stars, but you’re more down-to-earth. You’ve got places to go, friends to make, and to do that properly you have to be the best, happiest, healthiest version of yourself that you can be! You’ll always make time to care for the person who raised you but it’s refreshing to get out and connect with likeminded people on a jog or at the gym.

Traits: active, cheerful, outgoing

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Career: Athlete – Bodybuilder Branch

Live with Gen 4 your whole life

Do all housecleaning/repairs/upgrades yourself

Go on a jog at least once a week

Max out fitness, cooking and handiness skills

Become friends with an evil sim (bonus points if they form a negative relationship with your family)

Become best friends with a hot-headed sim you meet at the gym

Reach the top of the bodybuilder career

Develop max affinity with another sim in both the green and pink bars, have child(ren) with them, then ask just to be friends

Generation 6: Alphys

Your parent has always been a health nut, encouraging you to get some fresh air, eat well, touch grass, but the air is fresh enough for you in your room and ramen’s really not so bad. You can make a lot of worthwhile connections online, professional and personal—perhaps very personal. Although, if you tried getting out once in a while, maybe you’d meet the real flesh-and-blood soulmate you’re searching for…

Traits: geek, slob, romantic

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Career: Freelancer – Programmer Branch

Survive mostly on junk food and quick meals

Get the All-Nighter and Introvert achievements

Own a coffee machine. Drink coffee as much as possible

Max out programming, video gaming and logic skills

Enter a video game tournament at least once a week

Scavenge for parts in the trash as often as possible

Write love emails, poetry and romance books on the side. Self-publish only

Go on a date with at least three other sims before meeting your one true love at a fishing spot

Optional: develop and then overcome a fear of being judged

Generation 7: Mettaton

Your parent is a bit of a shut-in and more than a bit of a mess; you always thought they could be doing much better for themself. That’s why you venture to show them and the rest of the world how to clean up its act. You’re going to set standards, make a name for yourself—and if everybody ends up falling for you in the process, that’s just a pleasant bonus. You love the attention.

Traits: neat, materialistic, snob

Aspiration: Serial Romantic

Career: Style Influencer – Trendsetter Branch

Lose contact with family after moving out

Max out charisma skill

Reach level 5 of the cooking skill

Reach level 5 of the piano skill

Reach the top of the trendsetter career

Complete the serial romantic aspiration

Date a ghost, then break up with them to settle down with a human

Reconnect with family as an adult

Generation 8: Undyne

You certainly inherited your parent’s competitive streak but honestly, you couldn’t be less interested in their fussy put-together lifestyle. Your relationship deteriorated once they started pulling poses on the piano while you were trying to play. So why not play dirty? You don’t need fancy frills to make it big! You’re sweating out your home life frustration on the field, where you know you’ll always have people on your team.

Traits: hot-headed, self-assured, bro

Aspiration: Bodybuilder

Career: Athlete – Professional Athlete Branch

Have a strained relationship with Gen 7

Own a pool and go swimming at least three times a week

Max out fitness, charisma and piano skills

Reach level 5 of the cooking skill

Reach the top of the professional athlete career

Win at least three fights

Befriend one child and become enemies with one child

Fall in love with a sim who has the geek trait

Generation 9: Toriel

Both your parent and grandparent were rising stars in their areas of expertise and you’ve been thrust into the spotlight by proximity, but your hopes are more humble. All you’ve ever wanted are the comforts of home and a loving family of your own, both of which you’ll build better in privacy, away from the world’s lofty expectations. But that doesn’t guarantee it will be a quiet life; you intend to keep busy with quite a big brood.

Traits: neat, family-oriented, bookworm

Aspiration: Big Happy Family

Career: Part-Time Babysitter

When you move out, only take 20,000 of your parent’s simoleons to afford a starter home

Work as a part-time babysitter from teen to elder years

Write children’s books and short stories on the side

Max cooking and gourmet cooking skills

Reach level 5 of the charisma skill

Reach level 5 of the comedy skill

Get married and divorced once; never marry again but feel free to date

Have seven children over the course of your lifetime, however you choose to do so. The last child will be your heir

Generation 10: Frisk

You’ve been raised to appreciate a good story, and your large and eclectic family has passed down plenty of interesting tales for you to tell. That being said, you’re ready to have some adventures of your own too. When you’re not exploring your family history, you’re making your merry way through the wide world, collecting treasures, friends and memories, knowing that home will always be waiting for you.

Traits: good, creative, loves outdoors

Aspiration: Curator

Career: Writer – Author Branch

Have a good relationship with your parent

Be good friends with at least two of your siblings

Make six friends outside of your family

Max out writing and charisma skills

Reach the top of the author career

Complete the Curator aspiration

Optional: write and publish nine biographies for each past gen

Sims 4 legacy generation challenge

Gen 1

You moved to the country as a young adult to get away from the city lifestyle you grew up HATING! your dream was to always be your own boss , take care of animals and have a sweet baby girl to call your own.

Rules: - have at least one baby girl

-start out with no house or money besides enough to buy 3 chickens to start

-aspiration: country care taker

-get to level 7 in cooking skill and max parenting skill

(This is basically rags to riches, dig up items and sell eggs , the money from that is what you use to slowly build your home. Of course you’re allowed to steal food from people at parks and take showers at other peoples homes)

Gen 2:

You grew up on the farm , learning so many skills from your parents. You’re content with your life but you linger for more.. you leave the country life the day you become a young adult and move to Strangerville to figure out what the rest of the world has to offer.. only to find yourself as a scientist that stays up late hours trying to uncover the truth of why your neighbors act so strange.

Rules -

Have 2 or more children

Get to the the last level of the scientist career

Figure out the strangerville mystery

Aspiration strangerville mystery

Traits are genius , self assured and socially awkward

Gen 3

As much as you loved your mother , she kept secrets from you your whole life. 5 (sim days) into being a teenager, you leave strangerville and move all the way to copperdale.. you meet a boy there and end up pregnant the day before you become a young adult. You’re the best mother to your child and spend your entire life being a super parent and making sure your kids have the best of the best.

Rules

Must have 3 or more children

Must be pregnant the day before you become a young adult

Enter any career you’d like

Aspiration is super parent

Gen 4

Your mother babied you and your siblings your entire life. You rebel as a teenager and by the time you have enough money saved up, you move into your first apartment in San myshuno. You spend your days partying , drinking , doing the woohoo and find yourself pregnant but don’t know the baby’s dad. When you find out you’re having a baby , you get a job as a fast food worker and try your best to pay bills and provide for your child.

Rules

Aspiration is party animal

Have atleast one baby by a random sim you meet drunk in a bar

Enter the fast food career once you find out you’re pregnant

Traits are gloomy , self assured and clumsy

Gen 5

You grew up with hardly anything. Your mother was barely home so all you had to do was watch tv , go to school and play pretend with your best friend. When you are a teenager , you get a job as a baby sitter and once you save $2000 , you and your best friend move to del sol valley and pursue your dreams of being famous. You go down the singer/ song writer route and your best friend becomes a actress. You find yourself in love with your best friends boyfriend who is another famous singer. You all throw a party one night and make the drunken mistake of doing the woo hoo with her man. You end up pregnant, your best friend is extremely mad at you but helps you raise the baby because the dad (her boyfriend) doesn’t want anything to do with either of you.

Rules-

Aspiration is world famous celebrity

Must have one child

Max the singing skill

Gen 6

As a child you grew up with a lavish lifestyle but had no father figure in your life. All you’ve ever wanted was someone to love and build a life with. As a teenager you meet the person of your dreams and they become your partner. As a young adult your mother gives you $30,000 and the first thing you do is move with your partner to brindleton bay. You get the cozy 4 bedroom house of your dreams and soon get proposed to. After your wedding you get pregnant. Your husband is part of the police force so as a adult he dies while doing his job. Leaving you to raise your kid alone

Rules

Get a boyfriend/ girlfriend as a teenager

Move with that same partner to a 4 bedroom home in brindleton bay

Get married and get pregnant right after being married

Have atleast one kid

Husband must be a police man and die as a young adult

Gen 7

You were a gloomy kid due to your dad passing away. Your mom was always there for you and you wanted the best for you and her. As a young adult you take on your dads foot steps and get a job as a police officer. You move you and your mother to sulani so she can get a fresh breath of air before her time is up. Meanwhile you meet a local there and fall in love. They already have one child but that’s okay. You take the child in as your own and start having more kids with your partner. You have a happy life and make sure your mother lives to the best of her ability before she’s gone

Rules

Aspiration is big happy family

One trait must be gloomy

Have atleast 3 children and have your partner have one kid before they meet you

Gen 8

You grew up with the best parents and grandma. As a kid you always wrote stories on your diary and it’s all you looked forward to. As a teenager you start writing books about your life and family’s generations. The moment you’re nominated for a award. You move to windenburg and pursue your career as a writer.

Rules

Have atleast one child

Max cooking and writing skill

Write atleast 15 books
